The Ngemba languages are a group of Eastern Grassfields languages of the Western High Plateau of Cameroon. The languages are Awing (Mbwe'wi)–Bamukumbit, Bafut–Beba, Kpati, Mbili-Mbui (Bambili-Bambui), Mendankwe-Nkwen–Mankon–Mundum (Ngemba), Pinyin. In the West and North West regions of Cameroon, languages are often referred to by the name of the village or town where they are spoken. For example, Ngeumba is a Bamileke language spoken in Bansoa, in the West region of Cameroon, and is referred to as Bansoa.

Ran Min was thought to be dead, but when he appeared in Yecheng, the city was calmed. Shi Zhi ordered his general Liu Xian (劉顯) to besiege Yecheng, but Ran Min defeated Liu in the siege, awing the latter so much that Liu agreed that upon his return to Xiāngguó he would kill Shi Zhi and surrender. He did so and sent Shi Zhi's head to Ran Min, who had the head burned on a busy street in Yecheng. The Later Zhao dynasty was at its final end.

At that date they embarked for Nashville and January 1, 1865, moved south by rail to Decherd, a station on the road to Chattanooga. Here six companies encamped and four, under command of Major Brightman, were detached to guard the Elk River bridge. The Great International Aviation Carnival was held the same year and brought aviation pioneers representing Curtiss Aeroplane and Motor Company and a team representing the Wright Brothers to Salt Lake City. World-famous aviator Glenn H. Curtiss brought his newly invented Seaplane to the carnival, a type of airplane that had never been demonstrated to the public. Curtiss took off from the nearby Great Salt Lake, awing the 20,000 spectators and making international headlines.
