Along Serangoon Road is the Tekka Centre, the Tekka Mall, the Little India Arcade, Serangoon Plaza, and the Mustafa Centre (on a side-road). Farrer Park Fields is located in the district.

Both the tracks and the road run along the east coast of Lochloosa Lake in Lochloosa. Sarnia connects to the Great Lakes Waterfront Trail, which stretches over 2100 km along the Canadian shores of Lake Ontario, Lake Erie, Lake St. Clair, Lake Huron and the Niagara, Detroit, and St. Lawrence rivers.

In 1987, it was redefined to consist of the towns of Aurora, Richmond Hill and Vaughan, and the southern part of the Township of King. In 1996, it was redefined to consist of the towns of East Gwillimbury, Georgina, and Newmarket, as well as the part of King north of Side Road 18. The electoral district was abolished in 2003 when it was redistributed between the electoral districts of Newmarket—Aurora, Oak Ridges—Markham and York—Simcoe.

In addition to the small number of local residences, there are various holiday accommodations, from bed & breakfast studios, villas and hotels. There are also small hotels, for example the Hotel Terra Mare with several acres of associated grounds in which holiday bungalows are set. Taverna Angelos is renowned for its pizzas, is situated on the main street. Another Taverna, Pharos, can be found by turning up a side road off the west side of the main street.

Balaclava was originally located at Lot 3, Concession B, and Lot 4, Concession C of Sydenham Township in Grey County (see External Links). Gradually the village moved a mile and a quarter south to its present location at the junction of County Grey Road 20 and Side Road 8. Its name is likely derived from the Crimean War (1853-1856) and the Battle of Balaclava, which occurred on October 25, 1854, and in which many Scottish soldiers died.

Gossabrough is a coastal hamlet on the southeast side of the island of Yell in Shetland. Adjoining settlements are Otterswick and Swarister. The nearest airports are Fetlar 4.4 mi away and Out Skerries Airport 12.8 mi away. Gossabrough is connected to Yell by a side road, the B9081. Gossabrough beach is one of the beaches along with others at Hamnavoe, Westsandwick and Breckon, which has earned the award of the “Keep Scotland Beautiful Rural Seaside Award” for Yell.

The South Puyallup River Bridge was built in 1930–31 in Mount Rainier National Park as part of the West Side Road project, planned to link the park's Nisqually and Carbon River entrances. The stone-faced reinforced concrete bridge was designed by the National Park Service and the Bureau of Public Roads. It spans and is almost wide, carrying two lanes of traffic. The bridge was placed on the National Register of Historic Places on March 13, 1991.

With its ancestry going back to the horse bus days of the 1880s, Chelverton Road Garage was converted to a motor-bus garage in 1912. The garage is well hidden in a side road with a modest frontage, yet it has an allocation of 112. It has been modernised twice, firstly in 1935 and then again in 1985. The garage was well- known for being allocated the pre-war RTs in 1940, which displaced the STLs.

Zapudje is a clustered village in a small valley with many sinkholes at the foot of Travnik Hill (657 m) and Ušec Hill (also known as Vušec Hill, 616 m). It lies on a side road 3 km from the main road between Črnomelj and Vinica. The location has good insolation and is sheltered from the wind. The soil is rich in humus in the Loke area east of the village, and is loamy and gravelly elsewhere.

Businesses and services were all gone by the 1970s, and by the opening of the 21st century, most homes were gone or abandoned also, leaving one house opening onto Route 56 and two farms on a side road across the railroad tracks. Townsville Baptist Church, 1923 The Townsville Baptist Church is prominently located on the corner of Sturt and Fletcher Streets, Townsville. The site is in area and is located on a side road on the northern side of Sturt Street overlooking Ross Creek. Plantings on the site include palms and frangipani with recent garden beds. The church is a single storey rendered brick building with buttressed walls built directly onto the exposed granite surface of the site.

Middlesex (also known as Middlesex—London—Lambton) was a federal electoral district represented in the House of Commons of Canada from 1968 to 1979. It was located in the province of Ontario. This riding was created in 1966 from parts of Lambton West, Lambton—Kent, Middlesex West and Middlesex East ridings. It consisted of: (a) the north-central part of the City of London bounded by Adelaide Street on the west, Clarke Side Road on the east by, and Cheapside Street on the south; (b) in the County of Middlesex, the Townships of Adelaide, Caradoc, Delaware, Ekfrid, Lobo, Metcalfe, Mosa, West Nissouri and West Williams, Westminster, North Dorchester (excluding the Village of Belmont), East Williams (excluding the Village of Ailsa Craig), and the Township of London (excluding the part of the Township lying south of the Fanshawe Road and bounded on the east by Crumlin Road and on the west by Clarke Side Road); and (c) in the County of Lambton, the Town of Forest and the Townships of Bosanquet and Warwick.

Four sites were considered for either the Barrie line or the Kitchener line. The sites at Highway 7 in Vaughan and at St Clair Avenue West were not included as part of the 10-year RER expansion, but are part of a future expansion program. Clear Air Force Station is home to the 213th Space Warning Squadron. Anderson lies north of Anchorage, the most populous city of Alaska, and southwest of Fairbanks. Anderson attracts mostly curious visitors, owing to its "out of the way" location at the end of a side road, plus those stopping to camp or access the Nenana River at Riverside Park.

The original magic roundabout had six exits in total, with the British Petroleum building spanning "Marlowes", the road leading to the town centre, in the approximate position of the earlier railway viaduct. The BP building was found to be unstable due to defective reinforced concrete and the exit had to be closed. The Benjamin Franklin Henley House is a historic house in rural Searcy County, Arkansas. It is located northeast of St. Joe, on the south side of a side road off Arkansas Highway 374. It is a single-story wood frame dogtrot house, with a projecting gable-roofed portico in front of the original breezeway area. The house was built in stages, the first being a braced-frame half structure in about 1870, and the second room, completing the dogtrot, in 1876.

At the base of the canyon is Phelps Lake which was created by glacial activity.

Lahomno is the site of four unmarked or mass graves from the end of the Second World War. The Lahomščica 1 and 2 graves () both lie along Lahomščica Creek and each contain the remains of one person, probably a Croatian, buried in the first half of May 1945. The first grave is located by the first tree to the right of the bridge on the path to Marija Gradec. The second grave is located opposite the Lešnik farm and before the side road to Harje.

Rosemary Beach is an unincorporated planned community in Walton County, Florida, United States on a beach side road, CR 30A, on the Gulf Coast. Rosemary Beach is developed on land originally part of the older Inlet Beach neighborhood. The town was founded in 1995 by Patrick D. Bienvenue, President of Leucadia Financial Corporation, and was designed by Duany Plater-Zyberk & Company. The town is approximately and, upon completion, included more than 400 home sites and a mixed-use town center with shops, restaurants, and activities.

Remote was named by local pioneers for its distance from other settlements. Its post office was established in 1887. A new post office, besides a store, gas station, and unofficial town hall building was built in 1924 by L. D. Jennings. Oregon Route 42 used to run through the center of the community, but realignment of the highway has left Remote several hundred yards away, along a side road, around a bend and down below the highway, largely shielded by trees from highway view.

The falls are located to the southwest of the small town of Owaka and from the river's outflow into the Pacific Ocean. They can be reached via a short 10-minute bush walk from a car park on the Waikoato Valley / Purakaunui Falls Road, a gravel side-road off the main Owaka-Invercargill road. There are toilets and a picnic area. The small, well-signposted detour to the falls is popular with tourist travellers along the Southern Scenic Route, and prominently mentioned in brochures about the area.

The Cotter Road, ACT tourist route 5, begins as a side road off Adelaide Avenue in the suburb of Deakin. There is a large engraved image of Princess Wencheng on a cliff behind the monastery. The Tibetan name for the site is Nampar Nangdze Lhakang.

A mile south of Beckfoot is the side-road which leads to Newtown, and also to the Gincase, a farm park and tearoom. Immediately past the Newtown road comes Bank Mill Nurseries, which includes a garden, nature reserve, play area, and restaurant. The B5300 continues past Bank Mill, with sand dunes known locally as Mawbray Bank on the shore side, and agricultural land belonging to local farmers on the land side. The road then arrives at the western end of the village of Mawbray, and passes by a farm and several houses.

Hangars and temporary huts in the southeast corner of RAF Tempsford, 1943 The airfield at Tempsford was located in a relatively remote part of the Bedfordshire countryside. It was built on the land of the Gibraltar Farm, which was situated across a low bog. The airfield was developed in 1940 under the specifications of an "A" class airfield, though it was kept clandestine. The locals knew there was an RAF station down a little side-road marked “This road is closed to the public”, but they knew little else.

This is most often used for U-turns where a normal jughandle cannot be constructed; traffic turns left off the main road onto the ramp. In December 1975 two police officers, Tony White and Stuart Mackenzie, were in a panda car in a side road keeping a watch on the main A60 trunk road leading out of Mansfield in north Nottinghamshire when they spotted a small wiry man passing who carried a holdall. The Hope Historic District encompasses the surviving elements of the former mining boom town of Hope, Alaska. Hope is located in the northeastern corner of the Kenai Peninsula, alongside the spot where Resurrection Creek empties into the Turnagain Arm of Cook Inlet. Principal access to Hope is via the Hope Highway, a side road of the Seward Highway. Its historic center is formed by a grid of streets with Main Street at the west and Fifth Street at the east, A Street at the south, and formerly C Street at the north.

Vassar Road at Red Oaks Mill Red Oaks Mill is located at . Wappinger Creek, a tributary of the Hudson River, flows through the center of the community, forming the border between the towns of Poughkeepsie and LaGrange. At the center of Red Oaks Mill is a complex intersection where Vassar Road (Dutchess County Route 77), New Hackensack Road (New York State Route 376), Spackenkill Road (New York State Route 113), and a small residential side road all meet. Several shopping plazas, strip malls, and other commercial properties are found at or near this intersection.

Bridge No. 1860, also known as the Samson Occom Bridge, is a fieldstone arch bridge in Montville, Connecticut, United States. Constructed by the Connecticut State Highway Department in 1936 as a Works Progress Administration project, it is located on Mohegan tribal land in an area that was once a part of Fort Shantok State Park. The bridge carries traffic from Massapeag Side Road (Special Service Road 433) over the Shantok Brook, a tributary of the Thames River. Spanning across the brook, the bridge's arch rises about above the water.

Mill Street which is the first side road on Hwy 140 West was named after the flour mill that was located behind JR's Market. Mill short cuts back to US Hwy 431 where it ends. The first property on Mill Street was a passenger train station in the late 1800s to early 1900s that ferried people to the river town of Owensboro across the border from Indiana. Just past Mill Street is Highway 1207 that runs to "old" Highway 81 that leads right into and around downtown Owensboro.

As soon as the pedestrian signal changes to flashing red, the red arrow extinguishes. Traffic turning may now proceed provided they give way to oncoming traffic (for right turns) or pedestrians (for left turns). This method is becoming common in many states of Australia. When an intersection is given a protected turn prior to the pedestrian crossing on the side road given the green signal, the lights change to yellow and red, and then the red arrow disappears as soon as the pedestrian crossing is given a flashing red signal.

The archway is located near Rue d'Argens on the way from Msida to Sliema. The archway was said to have been dismantled by members of the Sliema Historic Society (SHS), but this was categorically denied by Salvino Testaferrata Moroni Viani by providing primary sources as evidence.Said, Edward (2011), "Historic Fawwara Gate in Gżira – some clarifications", Times of Malta. Today the archway stands in a less notable place as the area has been built up, and it is generally ignored for standing on a side road of Gzira next to Muscat Motors, a car showroom.

Their appearance is controversial; a 2006 resident survey produced mixed results, with people believing there were either too many or not enough. In 1988, a single road closure (resulting from a gas leak on a side road in Wandsworth) caused severe congestion along the entire South Circular. A representative from Scotland Yard's Central Communications complex said the inadequate design of the road was indicative of several single points of failure in the London road network. The South Circular has been criticised for its poor air quality and pollution.

If speed signs are not present, the system does not function. This is a particular problem when exiting a side road onto a main road, as the vehicle may not pass a speed sign for some distance. The section from the Humber River west predates the High Park section and was previously known as Stock's Side Road, and then Queen Street. It originally spurred off Lake Shore Boulevard (then known as Lake Shore Road) at the Humber River, but that connection was severed with the building of the Queen Elizabeth Way. To build the Parkside Drive to Ellis Drive section, the Metro government bought of High Park from the city. This was in contravention of stipulations by original High Park owner John Howard that the lands be used for parkland only.

There is a concurrency with US 19 and US 74 between the unincorporated communities of Lauada and Needmore. From Needmore, it follows a westerly course along the southern shore of man-made Fontana Lake. A side road crosses the TVA constructed Fontana Dam; NC 28 skirts the southern boundary of the Great Smoky Mountains National Park before reaching its northern terminus at US 129\. NC 28 overlaps with two state scenic byways: the Waterfall Byway, between Highlands and Franklin, and the Indian Lake Scenic Byway, between Almond and Deals Gap.

The Capture of Eaucourt l'Abbaye (1–3 October 1916) was a tactical incident during the Battle of the Somme. Eaucourt is about { south of Arras, at the junction of the D 929 and the D 10E roads. Eaucourt l'Abbaye (Eaucourt) is north-west of Martinpuich, south-east of Le Sars, south of the Butte de Warlencourt west of Gueudecourt and north-west of Flers. Eaucourt was a group of farm buildings in an enclosure built on the site of an Augustinian abbey, on a side road from Le Sars off the main Albert–Bapaume highway.

The lines were laid in the space between the river and the road, but were carried on an embankment over the side road leading to Bullbridge village, which itself was carried by a bridge over the river. A Victorian commentator wrote "river, road, railway and canal were thus piled up, four stories high". To avoid paying compensation to the canal owners, it was necessary to take the railway under the waterway without closing the canal. An iron tank long, deep and wide was prefabricated in sections at the Butterley Company's ironworks.

Fallowfield is an unincorporated village, (also known as Fallowfield Village) in the city of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. Located south-west of Bells Corners, west of Barrhaven and the 416 and north-east of Richmond within the southwest area of the city. Fallowfield is located in the triangle of Fallowfield Road, Richmond Road and Steeple Hill Crescent and also includes Richmond Road north up to Hope Side Road. The village serves as a bedroom community for the larger urban area of Ottawa as there are no retail or commercial enterprises in the village.

There were once also a theatre and a schola actorum ("actor's school"), identified by an inscription found in the neighbourhood, and, probably, a temples dedicated to Veiovis, a divinity associated to the gens Iulia. Remains of a side-road leading off from the nearby Appian Way were unearthed during excavation work to build a McDonalds restaurant in 2014. During the excavation a total of four male skeletons were also discovered. The restaurant itself now houses a view of a 150-foot stretch of 2,000-year-old cobbled street beneath a glass walkway.

It passes through the Blackdown Hills as a narrow road following the contours of the land. The end of the A303 is reached where it joins the A30, which enters as a side road and continues as the main route forward for Honiton and Exeter. Although the A303 as a whole is designed to be part of a route from London to Exeter, a popular alternative is to take the M4 motorway to Bristol, followed by the M5. Although this is a high-quality motorway route throughout, it is a considerably longer distance.

The allied army of Athens and Thebes had taken up a position near Chaeronea, astride the main road. On the left flank, the allied line lay across the foothills of Mount Thurion, blocking the side-road that led to Lebedea, while on the right, the line rested against the Kephisos River, near a projecting spur of Mount Aktion. The Carp Hills (also known as Carp Ridge) are a small range of rocky hills between the shallow valleys of the Carp River and Constance Creek, entirely within the West Carleton-March Ward of the city of Ottawa, Ontario, Canada. It runs roughly from Kinburn Side Road southeast to the village of Carp and the South March Highlands at March Road. The hills cover roughly and are mostly undeveloped. The ridge is an extension of the Canadian Shield, with a landscape that is characterized by a mix of rocky outcrops, grassland, marshes, numerous shallow ponds, and patches of mature forest.

Talaat ed Dumm. Model T Ford car on side road On 13 June the two brigades moved out to return via Talaat ed Dumm to Jericho, reaching their bivouac area in the vicinity of the Ain es Duk on 16 June. Here a spring gushes out a mass of stones in an arid valley and within a few yards became a full flowing stream of cool and clear water, giving a flow of some per day. Part of this stream ran across a small valley along a beautiful, perfectly preserved, Roman arched aqueduct of three tiers.

The village of Allonby can just be made out in the background.The B5300 continues south, following the shoreline of Allonby bay out of the village, past the side-road that leads to Hayton, and the caravan park at Blue Dial, and shortly passes by Milefortlet 21. These are the well-preserved remains of a Roman milefortlet, part of the coastal defences which extended beyond the western end of Hadrian's Wall. On the opposite side of the road from the milefortlet are the remains of medieval salt pans, which would have been used for salt production, once a major industry along the Solway coast.

The former District No. 2 Schoolhouse stands near the northern end of the elongated village of Wakefield, on the southwest side of Wakefield Road a short way south of its junction with East Side Road. It is a 1-1/2 story brick structure, with a gabled roof and granite foundation. Its corners have brick pilasters, which rise to entablatures running along the sides. The main entrance is set in a round-arch opening, and there is a half-round opening in the gable end, filled with a wooden panel marked with the year of construction, 1858.

Listed on the NRHP as Old US 67, Mandeville, a historic roadway section of US 67 is preserved in Miller County, Arkansas. It travels parallel to railroad tracks of the Union Pacific Railroad for from an intersection with Highway 237, just north of the Texarkana Airport, northeast to Miller County Road 63\. The southern portion of this road is called Mandeville Road, and is designated Arkansas Highway 296. It is eventually redesignated Miller County Road 138, and is an unnamed side road of the current alignment of U.S. Route 67 (US 67) in its northernmost stretch.

The giant sequoia trees are first encountered on the approach from the south at Giant Forest Village—a small cluster of buildings that is dwarfed by the surrounding trees. Some of the sequoias have become unstable due to root damage caused by building development and hence visitor services in this area have been reduced, including transfer of lodging to Wuksachi Village, north. The sequoia forest extends mainly east of the village, and is accessed by a side road plus many interconnecting foot trails. These range from in length, leading to various named individual trees and clusters of particular importance.

On the morning of January 19, 2004, al-Mayah left his house at 8am and starting driving his car, with another professor, Sarhan Abbas, in the passenger seat. The four drivers embark upon a perilous journey of over 200 miles, facing many hazards and internal conflicts. Despite their differences, they are forced to co-operate. They traverse a rotten bridge during a violent thunderstorm, Nilo and Jackie nearly losing their truck in the process. The team is forced to use one of the boxes of dynamite to destroy a massive fallen tree blocking their path. The rough terrain on a cliff-side road causes a tire to blow out which jostles the nitroglycerin in Kassem and Victor’s truck, causing an explosion and killing the pair.

A "minoress" was a nun in the Second Order of the Order of Friars Minor known as Franciscans. A small side- road off Minories is named St. Clare Street. The name can be found in other English towns including Birmingham, Colchester, Newcastle upon Tyne and Stratford-upon-Avon.

Second United Presbyterian Church, built in 1922 In the 1700s, the sandhills that make up Martineztown were a common area used by residents of Old Town to graze their sheep. Separated from Old Town by marshlands, the area was accessible via the Old Carnuel Trail (now Mountain Road) and a section of the Camino Real de Tierra Adentro called El Camino del Lado (Side Road) which skirted the Rio Grande valley floor. This later became the old Bernalillo Road and then Edith Boulevard. A small agricultural community developed after Manuel Martín and his family moved to the area around 1850.

Park and memorial, 2015 War memorial obelisk, 2015 Gair Park, a garden of remembrance containing a cenotaph, is a triangular piece of land bounded by Annerley Road, Gladstone Road and Maldon Street at Dutton Park. It is undulating in form and slopes down towards the road junction. The northeast corner has been truncated to close access to Maldon Street from Annerley Road and a side road has been cut to the south linking Gladstone Road and Annerley Road. The memorial is situated near the western corner of the park at the top of a grassy avenue flanked by hedges and eucalypt trees.

Some of the pillars are set in rocks of the Pahrali river, though some of the pillars are set in hills on either side. Road access allows one to drive into one side of the Aqueduct (up to one end), while it is also possible to drive into the foot of the Aqueduct (the level where the Pahrali flows) on the opposite side. There is also a huge flight of stairs (made in recent times) that allows one to climb from the level of the Pahrali river to the trough. Kuzhithura is close to the Tamil Nadu-Kerala border.

State Route 222 (SR 222), named Talmage Road along its entire length, is an unsigned state highway in the U.S. state of California. It was originally constructed as a short spur route of U.S. Route 101 in Mendocino County to what was Mendocino State Hospital in Talmage. The road has remained a state highway after the hospital closed down and the City of Ten Thousand Buddhas monastery was established on the former site in 1976. The SR 222 designation legislatively ends at its intersection with East Side Road, where the road continues as Bodhi Way into the monastery complex.

Built originally to provide access to the long-defunct Mendocino State Hospital, it is an unsigned spur route off of U.S. Route 101 at Ukiah, ending east at the intersection with East Side Road in Talmage, outside the City of Ten Thousand Buddhas monastery & university (which is located on the grounds of the former Mendocino State Hospital). West of U.S. Route 101, Talmage Road continues as a city street under Ukiah's control. SR 222 is not part of the National Highway System, a network of highways that are considered essential to the country's economy, defense, and mobility by the Federal Highway Administration.

Two couples—Tony and Helen, and Rod and Susan—are traveling via car through upstate New York to visit a lake, with their friends, couple Peter and Anne, following behind on a motorcycle. En route, the group pick up Jack, a hitchhiker who claims to be familiar with the area, but is in reality an escaped convict. As night falls and they fail to arrive at the lake, Rod decides to pull off onto a side road and camp overnight. At the end of the winding road, they come across an abandoned house and decide to spend the night there.

However, as the government has not required left hand drive (LHD) cars to accompany the right side road rules, many cars on the road are still right hand drive (RHD) made for driving on the left side.

It was originally a bog and only became a lake after a small barrage was built, making many believe that it is of natural origin. The purpose of the dam was to regulate the flow of water to the textile mills and sawmills in the Munster valley, most of which were supplied with electricity independently. The lake is a popular tourist destination and can be reached by car from Muhlbach-sur-Munster via a small mountain road (a side road of the D310). The lake is surrounded by many hiking trails marked out by the Club Vosgien.

Llandudno Queen of Welsh Resorts (chapter 10 page 70) The one-way drive starts at the foot of the Happy Valley. After about a side road leads to St. Tudno's Church, the Great Orme Bronze Age Copper Mine and the summit of the Great Orme. Continuing on the Marine Drive the Great Orme Lighthouse (now a small hotel) is passed, and, shortly afterwards on the right, the Rest and Be Thankful Cafe and information centre. Below the Marine Drive at its western end is the site of the wartime Coast Artillery School (1940–1945), now a scheduled ancient monument.

The first two victims, killed in 2012, were revealed to be guest-workers from abroad working as illegal taxi drivers, personally known to the perpetrators, who were killed by the gang to obtain their cars. A homicide with no robbery having taken place was also described. In it, Vladimir Kirillyuk, the head of the supervisory council from Flora-Moskva private bank, was killed bicycling on a side-road one night in 2014. The investigators suspected that he was killed because he had witnessed something dangerous to the gang members, although what he had seen was not mentioned.

Bear Camp Road came into the national spotlight in late 2006 when James Kim, his wife Kati, and their two daughters attempted to reach Gold Beach via this route. Kati claims they missed an exit on Interstate 5 to their intended route, Oregon Route 42, and decided to take Bear Camp Road instead. Late on the night of November 25, 2006, they missed signs warning of possible snow and continued up the mountain road. At the intersection of Bear Camp Road and BLM sections of the road, they decided to turn into the BLM road and eventually ended up lost down a side road before stopping for the night.

The trial began in June 1934 before Justice William Ives with three days of testimony from MacMillan. Brownlee's lawyer, Arthur LeRoy Smith, used his cross examination to call into question almost everything MacMillan said. To refute her claim that Brownlee had convinced her to move to Edmonton, he entered into evidence a letter she had written to Alberta College seeking information on its programs, dated before she had even met Brownlee. 93x93px From 1922 until 1926, most of the original surface alignment of NH 16 from Portsmouth to the intersection with NH 26 in Errol was known as New England Interstate Route 16, the "East Side Road". In 1926, the New England road marking system was superseded by the system of United States Numbered Highways, and many of the New England Routes, including NH 16, became state highways with the same number. NH 16 formerly served as a non-tolled alternative to the Spaulding Turnpike between Dover and Rochester. In the early 1990s, NHDOT rerouted NH 16 onto the turnpike as a concurrency for the full length of the turnpike.

The former post office in Bethlehem in 2005 Bethlehem is a tiny farming village in the county of Carmarthenshire, Wales, lying in the Tywi Valley northeast of Llandeilo and southwest of Llangadog but on the opposite side of the river from the busy London to Haverfordwest road, the A40. The centre of the village is approximately in front of the six houses opposite the village hall, with other houses, the Primary School, and a former Post Office scattered up and down the hill. The Nonconformist chapel after which the village was named is on a side road that follows the western edge of the Brecon Beacons.

The event that sparked "The Promised Land" into existence was a trip to Utah and Nevada on August 16–20, 1977, with photographer Eric Meola (who shot the Born to Run cover) and guitarist Steven Van Zandt. After flying to Salt Lake City and renting an old red 1965 Ford Galaxy, the group set out towards Reno, Nevada, Meola looking for photo ops, Springsteen to see some of the places he envisioned in his dreams. He was also upset, because one of his heroes, Elvis Presley, had just died. Springsteen "wanted to take every single side road that we could in Nevada", according to Meola.

There are also craggy areas such as Muck Rock (Carrickmore), and Kilrock.

43rd (Wessex) Division accompanied by 8th Armoured Bde was to follow Guards Armoured Division, carrying out assault crossings if any of the bridges were found to be destroyed, and guarding the 'corridor' to Arnhem. The advance up the only road ('Club Route') was slow but on 21 September 43rd (Wessex) Division caught up with the Guards at Nijmegen. Further progress was blocked by strong German forces, and 1st Airborne Division holding out at Arnhem was in a desperate plight. 43rd (Wessex) Division was ordered to pass through the Guards the following morning and make an all-out effort to reach the Nederrijn by a side road.

The militant group Sinai Province claimed responsibility for an attack on an army-owned M60 tank in October 2018 in the northern Sinai. On May 2, the participants in the 2007 Rally were driving through the Republic of Macedonia on a route from the Macedonian-Greek border near Bitola to the border with Albania, near the town of Struga. The traffic accident occurred on the motorway M4, at the entrance of the town of Struga, about from the Macedonian-Albanian border post. The Porsche hit an oncoming Volkswagen Golf, which was making a left turn on to the main road from a side road and driving in the opposite direction of the Porsche. The Porsche hit the Golf head-on, and the crash pushed both vehicles off the road.

As Interlake Road, G14 heads west with a brief curve to the north for a few miles and passing Lake San Antonio before turning mainly northwest and eventually north towards the town of Lockwood. Just a few hundred feet (~100 meters) south of Lockwood, G14 reaches the intersection of the western terminus of G18 and heads west along Jolon Road. The creek is the larger of the two main creeks that feed the refuge and parallels the road on the west. Davis Creek, the next biggest creek, parallels the east side road. They merge with the Little Tarkio Creek just south of the refuge in a man made ditch leading five miles (8 km) to the Missouri River.

West of Ottawa, a route was assumed to Arnprior on October 6, following today's Carling Avenue, March Road and Donald B. Munro Drive between Ottawa and Kinburn, and Kinburn Side Road and Madawaska Boulevard between Kinburn and Arnprior. On June 15, 1921, the highway was extended to Pembroke via Renfrew, Cobden, and Beachburg. The entire route between Pembroke and Pointe-Fortune became known as Highway 17 in the summer of 1925. Although the jurisdiction of the soon-to-become Department of Highways did not extend beyond Pembroke, a rough trail continued to North Bay, and a trunk road constructed by the Department of Northern Development beyond there to Sault Ste.

Traffic lights can increase the traffic capacity at intersections and reduce delay for side road traffic, but can also result in increased delay for main road traffic. Hans Monderman, the innovative Dutch traffic engineer, and pioneer of shared space schemes, was sceptical of their role, and is quoted as having said of them: "We only want traffic lights where they are useful and I haven't found anywhere where they are useful yet." Between 1979 and 1988, the city of Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, removed signals at 199 intersections that were not warranted. Windham was an early settlement along Yonge Street north of Elgin Mills to Jefferson Side Road. Named for the British Secretary of War William Windham, the area was settled in 1798-1799 by French emigres These royalist lead by Joseph- Geneviève, Comte de Puisaye did not stay long and many would end up leaving the area. By 1814 most of these settlers had left. Henri Quetton de St. George, French-born son of Laurent Quetton St. George (1771-1821), whom acquired land here in 1798, built his estate, Glen Lonely (burned down 1908), around 1847 and is now part of Lake St. George Conservation Area.

The contract was let to Bundaberg builders Franz Kuhnel and William Starke, with a contract price of and construction period of 13 weeks. The building, which comprised a schoolroom long and an attached teacher's residence of 8 rooms at the rear, was erected on the southern corner of the block, with the schoolroom facing the Sandhills Road, and the residence facing the side road, which became known as School Lane (now Zielke Avenue). Both sections were constructed of weatherboards, set on timber stumps, and roofed with timber shingles (replaced in 1898 with galvanised iron). Terry Fox Drive (Ottawa Road #61) is a major arterial road in Ottawa, Ontario named for the late Canadian humanitarian, activist, and athlete Terry Fox. Located in the suburb of Kanata in the city's west end, the road is a major route for residents traveling to/from the north end of Kanata. Starting in the Kanata North Technology Park at an intersection with Herzberg Road, it crosses March Road and Innovation Drive and bisects an old-growth forest, before heading south past Kanata Centrum. It crosses Highway 417, passes Katimavik- Hazeldean and Glen Cairn, and ends at Eagleson Road, where it continues east as Hope Side Road.

Taman Jaya station is located directly north of Petaling Jaya's "newer" segment, Section 52, over the side road of Persiaran Barat (West Drive) close to the Persiaran Barat- Lorong Sultan (Sultan Alley) intersection, off the main thoroughfare of Jalan Timur (East Road). Due to its proximity to Section 52, the Taman Jaya station is situated close to several municipal buildings and Dataran Petaling Jaya (Petaling Jaya Square), a municipal field. In addition to Section 52, Taman Jaya station is within walking distance of neighbouring Sections 9, 10 and 11 to the east. The station takes its name from Taman Jaya (Jaya Park) in Section 10, a lake gardens and the first park founded in Petaling Jaya.

Reservoir Road was deviated to the north to connect onto the new freeway (This deviated section is not part of the Former Great Western Road, Prospect nominated site). These constructions cut through the remnant Great Western Road alignment at Prospect and resulted the current arrangement of shorter lengths at the east and west ends. Bel Alton is an unincorporated community in Charles County, Maryland, United States. It is marked by old-style motels, a popular "bikers'" tavern, and other small businesses along U.S. Highway 301 catering to local residents and interstate travelers. A series of interpretive signs on a side road mark various spots where, in April 1865, John Wilkes Booth stopped to hide during his flight south after assassinating President Abraham Lincoln. St. Ignatius Church and cemetery, the oldest continuous Roman Catholic parish in the United States (although this claim is contested by another church in New Mexico), is two miles west of Bel Alton on a scenic bluff overlooking a wide inlet of the Potomac River.

The first post was built there in 1814 (named after HBC governor Joseph Berens). It moved briefly to “Old Fort Portage” in 1816, then to Pigeon River a few miles south until HBC employee John Robertson moved it back to the original site in the mid 1820s. This was a thriving Metis community until fishing was banned on Lake Winnipeg in 1970 due to mercury contamination.

The southern section of Highway 58 begins at a junction with the former Highway 3 in the city of Port Colborne, several kilometres north of Lake Erie. South of this intersection, the road once continued as Niagara Regional Road 64 to Killaly Street; such has since been downloaded to the city of Port Colborne. Proceeding north, the highway, known locally as West Side Road, passes through the suburbs of Port Colborne, north of which it skirts the eastern edge of the Wainfleet Bog, one of the few remaining habitats of the Massasauga Rattlesnake. West of Dain City, Highway 58 crosses the Port Colborne – Welland boundary at Forks Road, a grade-separated intersection.

The Ontario Food Terminal was opened in 1954 and serves as the main produce distribution centre for Toronto. In 1952, Etobicoke left York County with the other municipalities south of Steeles Ave to join the new Metropolitan Toronto which began to urbanise the townships around Toronto like Etobicoke. In 1946, the 'Queensway' post office opened and at the Queensway and Royal York a development of 'veterans houses' was built for returning servicemen. In the 1950s, Toronto was expanding and Queen Street West was extended from the foot of Roncesvalles Avenue around the top of Humber Bay north of the Railway tracks complementing the Lake Shore to the south and linking with the former Stock's Side Road.

The platform storage was increased in 1879, when a second room was built. Access was provided by the road towards Abergele, which passed over the tracks south of the station via a railway bridge. There were steps down from the bridge directly onto the platform for foot passengers, while a side road was constructed for vehicles. There was a near disaster in June 1921 when a car came off the bridge and went down a steep bank, ending a few feet short of the platform just prior to the arrival of a train. The London and North Western Railway took control of the Vale of Clwyd Railway in 1864, and absorbed it into its services on 15 July 1867.

Since the incident, the Forest Service and Bureau of Land Management has installed additional numerous large signs on the approaches to Bear Camp Road, warning that the road may be impassable during winter months. Also, the directional sign ("To Gold Beach and Coast") at the spot where the Kims turned onto the wrong road, has been moved and replaced. At the spot, the through road is narrow and steeply uphill while the side road is much wider and more level and appears to be the proper continuation. The location and arrow direction on the old sign was confusing and ambiguous, especially in snow when it would be impossible to see that the narrow uphill road is the correct route while the wide level road is not.

Turning west, the river crosses under Route 127 and enters Death Valley National Park between the south end of the Amargosa Range on the right and the Avawatz Mountains on the left. Turning northwest and then north, the river re-enters Inyo County, passing between the Owlshead Mountains on the left and the Ibex Hills on the right and receives Confidence Wash and Rhodes Wash, both from the right. In this stretch, the river runs roughly parallel to Harry Wade Road and, further north, to California Route 178 and West Side Road. The river receives Willow Creek from the right and ends in Badwater Basin, about below sea level, between the Black Mountains on the right and the Panamint Range on the left.

Bending sharply to the right part-way through the village, another side-road here leads to the council estate Friars' Garth, as well as Holmcultram Abbey, which was converted into a parish church following the dissolution of the monasteries in the 1530s. The Abbey's 900-year-old roof was destroyed in an arson attack in 2006, but has since been restored thanks to donations from the local community. On its way out of Abbeytown, the B5302 passes over an old railway bridge, and comes close to the site of the former Abbeytown railway station. After leaving Abbeytown, the road heads in a vaguely south-easterly direction, passing mostly fields with the occasional farmhouse, eventually reaching Wheyrigg after one-and-three-quarter miles.

Major junctions follow the layout similar to motorways, being served by high-level or low-level roundabouts accessed via slip roads, except for the straight flyover at the junction with Hall Lane, Upminster at about 3.5 km east of Gallows Corner. after Gallows Corner the A127 crosses the M25 motorway at M25 Junction 29 - the start of slip-roads on the A127, and then immediately crosses into Brentwood. After a couple of minor side road exits, the next major junction is with the A128 Brentwood exit at the Halfway House (pub) near West Horndon, east of the M25.

The Lytton Ferry, a free reaction ferry, crosses the Fraser River at Lytton. On the river's west side are Indian reserve communities of the Lytton First Nation and the Stein Valley Nlaka'pamux Heritage Park via trails from the confluence of the Stein River with the Fraser. From the ferry, a route known as the West Side Road leads through the Nesikep and Texas Creek areas to Lillooet and BC Highway 99; the route south from the ferry is much more difficult but leads to North Bend-Boston Bar. When the ferry is out of service due to ice or low water levels on the Fraser River, pedestrian access is available via a walkway on the Canadian National Railway bridge crossing the river.

Its otherwise very cubic volumes are broken up by a curved entranceway that leads to a side garage wing with attached greenhouse. The estate originally had an E. Jefferson avenue address, until the large lot was subdivided and the house used a new facing side road as its address.

Etobicoke's first highway was Dundas Street (Toronto to the town of Dundas beside Hamilton) but for most early settlers of southern Etobicoke, an Indian path along the shoreline given the name Lake Road (Lake Shore Boulevard West) was found to be a more convenient street. This street extended into Toronto from where Queen street stopped at the bottom of Keele St (Parkside) around the top of Humber Bay to the border of Etobicoke (the Humber River) where it met with the extension of Queen Street in Etobicoke (Stock's Side Road).

It was in the fall of 1850 that the primeval forest that covered the present site of Tiverton was entered by its first settler, Timothy Allan. The survey of the north part of Kincardine Township had just been completed, but that part of the township of Bruce in which Tiverton lies had not been commenced. For several years the work of clearing the bush went steadily on before the idea of a village at that spot was thought of. It was the fortune of the author, in the spring of 1857, to tramp along the "Boundary Line" from Inverhuron east to the fifteenth side- road, but he cannot recall of then seeing any evidence of the village that subsequently was developed.

The area was deeded to the State of New Hampshire on May 7, 1938 by George F. Plummer and is administered by the Department of Resources and Economic Development under the Division of Forests and Lands. The giant potholes are at the foot of a short cliff approximately east of Buffalo Road, opposite a lumberyard from East Side Road in Wentworth village, from Sand Hill Road in Rumney. Access is easiest from a grassy area at the side of the road southeast of the potholes. There are traces of an old trail from the northwest corner of this area, uphill and then turning left towards the potholes, but the trail is obscured by many fallen trees; the area is evidently not maintained by the state.

In pre-Christian times the feast usually fell on the autumn equinox, in modern times it is usually celebrated on one of the Sundays following the end of the harvest season, which fall on different days in different regions of Europe. The feast was initially associated with the pagan Slavic cult of plants, trees and agriculture. In 16th century in Central and Eastern Europe it gained a Christian character and started to be organised by the landed gentry and more affluent peasants as a means to thank the reapers and their families for their work, both during the harvest and during the past year.

Ranches off that west side road, known as the Slok Creek Forest Service Road or, more traditionally, the West Pavilion Road, access ranches on high benchlands atop cliffs that plunge to one of the Fraser's deepest gorges, plunging in near- desert between Fountain and Big Bar. Although road-access today, these once were accessed only by cable ferry on the river far below Pavilion, or via tortuous horse trails over the southern Camelsfoot. Some of the ranchlands and spreads in this area, which is called Blue Ridge as well as West Pavilion, were part of the Diamond S Ranch holdings at Pavilion founded by American settler Robert Carson and owned in later years by the Martley family and their descendants to this day.

Grade-separated road junctions are typically space-intensive, complicated, and costly, due to the need for large physical structures such as tunnels, ramps, and bridges. Their height can be obtrusive, and this, combined with the large traffic volumes that grade- separated roads attract, tend to make them unpopular to nearby landowners and residents. For these reasons, proposals for new grade-separated roads can receive significant public opposition. Rail-over-rail grade separations take up less space than road grade separations: because shoulders are not needed, there are generally fewer branches and side road connections to accommodate (because a partial grade separation will accomplish more improvement than for a road), and because at-grade railway connections often take up significant space on their own.

Selhust Station on Selhurst Road Selhurst Road is a main road between South Norwood and Selhurst in the London Borough of Croydon, south London. It forms part of the A213 road which is a major A Road connecting both Sydenham and Croydon. The road starts in South Norwood from the High Street, which is also part of the A213, then it carries on to Selhurst railway station opposite Heavers Meadow then on a side road it passes the BRIT School. The road carries on until it meets Northcote Road at a corner, this road carries on until it hits a five way junction with Whitehorse Road (towards Thornton Heath and Croydon), Windmill Road (towards Purley Way), Limes Road (residential) and Hampton Road (retail).

On September 21, 1999, Thoenes was killed by soldiers from a company of the Indonesian Army's Battalion 745 as the unit withdrew from the territory, carrying out a deliberate, government-directed, scorched-earth policy as it went. These murders were just one in a string of similar incidents that marked the passage of the unit westward along the coast-road toward the Indonesian border. Thoenes was riding pillion on a local motorcycle taxi in the neighborhood of Becora, just east of Dili, when he encountered the column of motor-cyclists and heavy lorries as it approached Dili from the opposite direction. Australian-led UN peace-keepers discovered Thoenes’ body with gunshot-wounds in the back-yard of a house on a side-road.

To the east of the Turnpike, PGA Boulevard borders the Ballenisles Country Club to the south, and other residential communities to the north, and quickly transitions to a commercial road, with a shopping center on both sides of the road heading closer to Military Trail. After this interchange, PGA Boulevard moves to the northeast and quickly approaches the interchange with Interstate (I-95 or SR 9), an overpass with SR 811 and access via a side road. This overpass also crosses the Florida East Coast Railway, where Tri-Rail has proposed adding a station. Afterwards, the road heads straight east and forms the southern boundary of The Gardens Mall, with other shopping centers on the southern side of the road.

Of these, most were rejected as unsuitable, either because they were too close to other stations, or for failing to meet other criteria, such as connections to other services, proximity to urban growth centres, construction viability, urban density, or necessary infrastructure. Others were rejected because they were considered for other lines on the network.

A train station used to exist near the entrance of the Bruce Trail, and the earthen siding can be seen on the south side of the tracks, just east of the one lane car bridge that spans the rail road tracks. The rail bed for the former Toronto Suburban Railway can be seen about a kilometre west of the bridge on 22nd Side Road where it used to cross the road. The rail bed runs behind the gun club and east where it crossed 5th Line and the wood pilings can be seen in what used to be the head pond in what is now the Credit Valley Conservation Limehouse Park. The head pond is just some north of the Hole in the Wall feature of the Bruce Trail.

Fleisch recovered more of the earlier type of industry when the Corniche Road was widened and is suggested to still exist under a side road that leads to the Federal Hotel. Ras Beirut V (a) or Bergy's "plus 8" Beach is south of Pigeon Rock on the way to St. Elie beach at around above sea level opposite the Continental Hotel. A layer of pebbles, marine shells and flints in the sandstone was found by Auguste Bergy and studied by Dubertret in 1937 and 1940, de Vaumas in 1947, Haller in 1945, Fleisch in 1956 and 1962,Fleisch, Henri., La Côte libanaise au Pleistocène ancien et moyen, Quaternaria, Volume 6, 1962. Howell in 1959 and Dorothy Garrod in 1960.

Instead of labeling this as a sell-out (which it very easily could have become), A Family Affair is better viewed as a side road along the fruitful journey of one diverse musician." The route continued to move northeast, but suddenly curved northwest in order to avoid Accabonac Cliff, which is accessible from a side road called Louise Point Road. CR 45 intersected at Neck Path again east of the former hamlet of Kingstown, but this time it merges with the former route and then immediately turns onto Accabonac Road. Curving back to the northwest, CR 45 passed by the Springs General Store, then over a creek leading to Pussys Pond, and instantly intersected a fork in the road at Parsons Place, which leads to the historic Charles Parsons Blacksmith Building as well as the NRHP- listed Ambrose Parsons House. In between both roads are the Springs Cannon, Ashawagh Hall, and for CR 45, the Springs Community Presbyterian Church on the opposite side.

Etobicoke was a federal electoral district represented in the House of Commons of Canada from 1968 to 1979. It was located in the province of Ontario. This riding was created in 1966 from parts of York—Humber riding. It consisted of that part of Metropolitan Toronto bounded as follows: from the intersection of Dundas Street West and Jane Street, north along Jane Street, west along Eglinton Avenue West, northwest along the Humber River, west along Dixon Side Road, north along Islington Avenue North, west along Rexdale Boulevard, north along Kipling Avenue North, northwest along the West Branch of the Humber River, south along the boundary between the Townships of Etobicoke and Toronto, northeast along the Queen Elizabeth Way, north along Kipling Avenue South, and northeast along Dundas Street West to Jane Street.

This plan included the subdivision of Mr. Edward Stock's land as far north as the Stock's Side Road (an extension of Toronto's Queen Street, now the Queensway) and a cattle path he had established as a shortcut from Church St. (Royal York Rd.) to Lake Shore Road became Mimico Avenue. Around that time, the Mimico area was incorrectly shown on some fire insurance plans as extending North of Lake Ontario, West of the Humber River, South of North Queen Street (Delroy Drive) and East of Mimico Avenue (now Kipling Avenue), as the community of Mimico was located in the immediate vicinity of the railway station and post office.Mimico, Etobicoke Township, York County, Province of Ontario, Chas. Both Emperor Jing and Empress Dowager Dou was greatly touched, and Emperor Jing pardoned him on the spot. However, he would no longer consider him as a potential heir.

Guthrie recounts a story of events that took place two years prior, when he and a friend spent the Thanksgiving Day holiday at a deconsecrated church on the outskirts of Stockbridge, Massachusetts, which their friends Alice and Ray had been using as a home. As a favor to them, Guthrie and the friend volunteered to take their large accumulation of garbage to the local dump in their VW Microbus, not realizing until they arrived there that the dump would be closed for the holiday. They eventually notice a pile of other trash that had previously been dumped off a cliff near a side road, and they added theirs to the accumulation. The next morning, the church received a phone call from the local policeman, Officer Obie, saying that an envelope in the garbage pile had been traced back to them.

Whereas US 231 runs along the northeastern edge of Bay- Calhoun County Line as it left Bay County, it runs along the western edge of the Washington-Jackson County Line county as it enters Jackson County. What would appear to be a former segment of the road can be found between Freeman Road and Lakepoint Road, as it curves far away from Compass Lake, only to run along the east side of the same A&SAB; railroad line it ran along the west side of in most of Bay County. The north end of Lakepoint Road can be found at the shared intersection with Pikes Pond Road. North of there, the road moves away from the tracks again near a side road and former segment called "Blossom Loop" on the southbound side and enters Round Lake where the divider ends again.

The school has witnessed many changes around its premises, such as the re-alignment of Viewmount Road (back then Borden Side Road) and the increase of commercial enterprises like Merivale Mall in the 1960s and 1970s. Construction and development slowed down in the 1980s and 1990s but in 2002 a new shopping complex was built across the street as well as a Harvey's nearby, providing students many more places to go during lunch. Due to its location on the increasingly commercially developed Merivale strip, and its reduced importance since the completion of John McCrae Secondary School in Barrhaven, efforts had been made by the province to close the school in the late 1990s as a means of saving money. These efforts proved unsuccessful due to a large amount of community and student body support for the school.

The rock-art site is located along the E.N.370 motorway between Santiago do Escoural and Alto da Abaneja, approximately five kilometres from the latter. A side road towards the east, in the direction of Herdade da Sala, in the locality of Fonte Nova, directs the traveller to a marble outcropping and cliff face embedded in igneous rock, on which the archaeological site is found. It is in an isolated rural location between the Tagus River and Sado River basins and the plains region of the Alentejo, near other important megalithic monuments, including the Cromolech of Almendres and the dolmen Anta Grande do Zambujeiro. A complex subterranean structure, the cave is an irregular plan that extends longitudinally northwest to southeast, consisting of a network of horizontal halls and galleries at different levels sealed within a thick flowstone mantle.

The main purpose of the new Transitway facility according to OC Transpo's Transplan program as the result of public consultation process on transit improvement was to improve connections between local routes in Kanata North and routes 63 and 64, which travel to the Kanata North Business Park from Lebreton Station and Lincoln Fields Station. Other routes, such as route 62, route 164 (serving Hope Side Road), and route 168 (serving Beaverbrook and Bridlewood serve Teron Station, and routes 62, 164, and 168 all provide a connection to Kanata Centrum at Terry Fox Station from routes 63 and 64 in Kanata North. Additionally, Teron will be part of a future extension of the Western Segment of the Transitway. According to the Ottawa Transportation Master Plan, the segment from Eagleson Road to Terry Fox Drive is scheduled to be completed by 2031.

The Seton Canal is a diversion of the flow of the Seton River from Seton Dam, just below the flow of Seton Lake, to the Seton Powerhouse on the Fraser River at the town of Lillooet, British Columbia, Canada. The canal bridges Cayoosh Creek 300m below its commencement and is about 3.5 km in length, ending just below a bridge used by the Texas Creek Road (aka the West Side Road), where the canal's waterflow is fed into tunnels which feed the Seton Powerhouse on the farther side of a small rocky hill. Most of the water carried by the canal is the volume of the diverted Bridge River, which is fed into Seton Lake via BC Hydro's Bridge River generating stations at Shalalth, 16 km to the west, which are supplied by diversion tunnels through Mission Ridge from Carpenter Lake, the reservoir created by Terzaghi Dam.

The first portion of what became Highway 58 was assumed on September 4, 1935. Although only a short stub travelling south from Main Street in Welland (then Highway 3A), it connected to a road owned by the Welland Canal Authority (WCA) travelling along the east side of the old canal, now known by various names including Barber Drive, Canal Road, Kingsway, and Canal Bank Street. Initially unnumbered, the route was extended to Port Colborne and St. Catharines on October 6, 1937, and by then had been given the designation of Highway 58\. It now began at Highway 3 in Port Colborne and travelled to Welland along the east side of the canal, and thereafter north along Niagara Street, the Merrittville Highway and Glenridge Road (Niagara Regional Road 50) to Highway 8 in downtown St. Catharines. On July 17 and 30, 1958, the Department of Highways assumed the West Side Road, constructed in the years prior by Welland County between Port Colborne and Welland.

Gooseneck from above, in 2011 The Gooseneck is described as a good location for spectators to be very close to the bikes. Racers are at medium speed, yet can seem faster because the spectators can be so close. It's also fun for visiting motorcyclists, as the traffic flow is restricted during the race season to be one-way, and there is no speed limit through the Gooseneck and some other locations, while elsewhere there is "intensive police vigilance associated with extensive speed limit enforcement as part of an effort to control, or choreograph the riding behaviours of visitors." After the cross traffic has had its turn, the arrows on opposite sides would both turn green, until one side runs out of right-turn traffic. In any case, when both sides of the intersection turn green, the corresponding arrow will turn off after a short delay, thus working similarly to the old Victorian standard. This method has the advantage of being controlled during peak-hours, where controllers would be able to prevent the arrow from turning off in extreme peak-hour traffic, but causes confusion as drivers expect a light to be on when three are present. In New Zealand, where they drive on the left, when a road is given a green light from an all direction stop, a red arrow can continue to display to turning traffic, holding traffic back while the pedestrian crossing on the side road is given a green signal (for left turns) or while oncoming traffic goes straight ahead and there is no permissive right turn allowed (for right turns).

The Lion of Chaeronea, erected by the Thebans to honor the dead from the Battle of Chaeronea (338 BC), described by the ancient geographer Pausanias and discovered by the British architect George Ledwell Taylor in the early 19th century. The allied Greek army had taken up a position near Chaeronea, astride the main road.. On the left flank, the allied Greek line lay across the foothills of Mount Thurion, blocking the side-road that led to Lebedea, while on the right, the line rested against the Kephisos river, near a projecting spur of Mount Aktion. The allied Greek army included contingents from Achaea, Corinth, Chalcis, Epidaurus, Megara and Troezen, with the majority of troops being supplied by Athens and Thebes, thus making it an army of allied cities of southern Greece, that had been traditionally self- governed for centuries. The Athenian contingent was led by the generals Chares and Lysicles, and the Thebans by Theagenes.

Hillberry Corner was part of the Highland Course and Four Inch Course used for the Gordon Bennett Trial and Tourist Trophy car races between 1904 and 1922. For the 1908 Tourist Trophy race for cars, the startline was moved from the road junction of the A2 Quarterbridge Road/Alexander Drive to Hillberry Corner as part of the new Four Inch Course. A small iron-framed grandstand was built for spectators and still remains at the site.

Together with Aberdeenshire, Aberdeen was one of two constituencies covering the county of Aberdeen. Some T junctions are controlled by traffic lights, but others rely upon drivers to obey right-of-way rules, which vary from place to place. For example, in some jurisdictions, vehicles on the right always have the right-of-way (even at T junctions), while in other jurisdictions, vehicles travelling on the "through" road of a T junction have the right-of-way, meaning that vehicles approaching the "major" road must allow through traffic to pass before joining the flow of traffic. In the People's Republic of China, going straight on red when approaching a T junction on the main road with the intersecting road on the left was permitted until the Road Traffic Safety Law of the People's Republic of China took effect on 1 May 2004. In Taiwan (administered by the Republic of China), when at least two vehicles reach a T intersection without a working traffic light, the vehicle on the side road is to yield to any other vehicle straight on the main road.

When the lift helicopters landed Brewer and others carried ammunition along the column and drainage ditch and brought back the wounded. Otis ordered his gunships to make north-south firing runs on the village, with two being severely damaged by anti-aircraft fire and having to make emergency landings in the base. When the 1st Platoon of Troop C approached the area at 07:30, Otis ordered them to deploy east along a side road and into a gate where they would support the Security Police and ARVN fighting inside the base. The VC/PAVN inside the 051 Bunker were continuing to fire on the Security Police and ARVN; with the arrival of the 1st Platoon it was decided to neutralise it. An M48 fired its 90mm main gun on the bunker until it was disabled by RPG fire; the crew evacuated except for Specialist 4 Robert Crowell who remained in the tank and fired a further 18 rounds until he was killed. Troop B arrived at the scene at 08:00, having driven the 39 km from Trảng Bàng in one hour, avoiding or driving through several VC roadblocks.

His beautiful residence in Settignano near Florence, which has been called 'I Tatti' since at least the 17th century became The Harvard Center for Italian Renaissance Studies, a research center offering a residential fellowship to scholars working on all areas of the Italian Renaissance. He had willed it to Harvard well before his death, to the bitterness of his wife Mary. It houses his art collection and his personal library of books on art history and humanism, which Berenson regarded as his most enduring legacy. A spirited portrait of daily life at the Berenson "court" at I Tatti during the 1920s may be found in Sir Kenneth Clark's 1974 memoir, Another Part of the Wood. 'During WW2, barely tolerated by the Fascist authorities and, later on, by their German masters, Berenson remained at "I Tatti". When the frontline reached it at the end of the summer of 1944 he wrote in his diary, "Our hillside happens to lie between the principal line of German retreat along the Via Bolognese and a side road...We are at the heart of the German rearguard action, and seriously exposed.".

It is situated on the Snaefell Mountain Road, designated A18, a main two-way thoroughfare from Ramsey to Douglas with an adjacent side-road junction for the minor D28 Hibernia Road, in the parish of Maughold in the Isle of Man.
