The murder of Chloé Ansel (in French: Affaire Chloé Ansel) refers to the kidnapping, and subsequent killing, of a 9-year-old French child in April 2015. On April 15, 2015, Chloé Ansel was kidnapped near her home, and only hours later found dead near the woods in Calais - her body showing obvious signs of sexual violence and strangulation, traumata later confirmed through an autopsy. The main suspect, Polish national Zbigniew Huminski, was quickly arrested and confessed to the crime afterwards. On April 21st, after a funeral at St. Pierre Church in Calais, Chloé was buried in the Nord cemetery.

On 1 September 1863, Prus, then a 16-year-old volunteer in the Polish 1863–65 Uprising against Imperial Russia, had been captured during a battle at the village of Białka, four kilometers south of Siedlce. " In 2013, Plantation Memories by Kilomba was adapted for a stage reading at the Ballhaus Naunynstraße theatre in Berlin. The theatre wrote about her work: "With her book, Plantation Memories – Episodes of Everyday Racism, Grada Kilomba succeeds in revealing the consequences of racist violence and racist traumata through her concise and profound language." One year later, the scenic reading was shown at the Haus der Berliner Festspiele. In a textbook, Carl Braun, Semmelweis's successor as assistant in the first clinic, identified 30 causes of childbed fever; only the 28th of these was cadaverous infection. Other causes included conception and pregnancy, uremia, pressure exerted on adjacent organs by the shrinking uterus, emotional traumata, mistakes in diet, chilling, and atmospheric epidemic influences. Despite this opposition, Braun, who was Assistant in the First Division in the period April 1849 to Summer 1853, maintained a relatively low mortality rate in the First Division, roughly consistent with the rate Semmelweis himself achieved, as mortality rates in the period April 1849 to end 1853 show. These results suggest that Braun continued, assiduously, to require the chlorine washings.
