There is no way to completely prevent uterine prolapse. To reduce the risk of uterine prolapse, cows are returned to a standing position and encouraged to move around as soon as possible. This is especially important in cases where a calf is pulled to assist the mother. A cow that is returned to an upright position drops the uterus back into the abdominal cavity which straightens out the uterine horns.

Modern combat aircraft accomplish this in a variety of ways, through design of the inlet. The inlet sits upstream of the compressor and has a strong influence on engine net thrust. A well-designed inlet straightens the flow, and feeds the compressor with low-turbulence air at a relatively constant speed and volume. This is easy to achieve in subsonic aircraft such as passenger jets, which do not perform high-speed, high-G maneuvers that lead to turbulent airflow.
The ride begins with the train climbing a lift hill before arching into a steep curved incline. The train rises up into a butterfly loop- two half loops connected by a corkscrew - before pulling upwards into a banked apex. From here the train drops sharply into a sidewinder - a loop that transitions into a corkscrew. A tight helix follows, providing a near miss with the Big Dipper, before the train straightens itself and pulls into a double inline twist.

A come-along. A come-a-long (comealong, come-along, power puller) is a hand- operated winch with a ratchet used to pull objects. The drum is wrapped with wire rope. A similar tool that uses a nylon strap is used to straighten trees in Texas, as it straightens gradually over time, therefore not splitting the trunk Come-alongs are not rated for overhead lifting, but a similar-looking device called a ratchet lever hoist is used this way.
After the take off, the torso stays upright and vertical, but will begin to quickly torque in order to swing the legs around and upwards. At the peak of this move, the body is in the shape of a "V". The legs continue to swing over as the body straightens out for the landing. In tricking, this move can be done from a run, a step in, a standing position, or from another move in a combo.
It zigzags its way north through rough terrain for several kilometres, passing through several rock outcroppings. Eventually, the route straightens once more, then curves east and enters St. Charles. Within the village, drivers must turn at a stop sign to remain on Highway 535\. From here the highway once again resumes its straight north-south alignment for , diverging to cross the Nepewassi River, then entering the village of Hagar, where it intersects Highway 17, the Trans Canada Highway.
There are fine radial grooves near the cap margin; young specimens, the margin is curved inward, but it straightens as it ages, and eventually develops cracks. The gills are white, and free from attachment to the stem. They are crowded together closely, and there are 2–3 tiers of lamellulae (short gills that do not extend completely from the cap margin to the stem). Viewed with a hand lens, the gill edges appear to have fringes.

After , it reaches Cambridge, where NY 313 forks off to the east. In the middle of town, NY 372, a local connector to Greenwich, ends.
The licker- in, or smaller roller meters fibre from the infeed tray onto the larger storage drum. The two rollers are connected to each other by a belt- or chain- drive so that their relative speeds cause the storage drum to gently pull fibres from the licker-in. This pulling straightens the fibres and lays them between the wire pins of the storage drum's card cloth. Fibre is added until the storage drum's card cloth is full.
Actually, the line in between of them is thin, but it exists. The monster, fostered in the depths of Kerem`s soul, becomes out of control. The more the fears and sufferings of Kerem increase, the more the power of the monster straightens. The only way for him is to win his both inner and outer demons. The second aspect of the film is this struggle of Kerem with the monster, or more correctly, Kerem’s struggle with himself.
Riders then enter the first of two corkscrews which rotates the train 360 degrees to the left. The track straightens briefly again before turning to the right and entering a short dip before taking riders into the second corkscrew. The ride finishes with a 1.5 revolution flat helix where riders encounter strong positive G-forces before making one last left turn into the final brake run. One cycle of the ride lasts about 2 minutes and 16 seconds.
Honing steel Contrary to popular belief, a honing steel (or butcher's steel or sharpening steel) does not sharpen knives, but instead straightens the blade, while a sharpener sharpens the blade. A honing steel is a rod made of steel or ceramic, generally about long (although can be longer) and 6 mm to 12 mm (¼ to ½ inch) thick. It is used to hone a knife blade after sharpening in order to restore the edge and improve cutting ability.
Sprinters during a 200 m race Sprinting involves a quick acceleration phase followed by a velocity maintenance phase. During the initial stage of sprinting, the runners have their upper body tilted forward in order to direct ground reaction forces more horizontally. As they reach their maximum velocity, the torso straightens out into an upright position. The goal of sprinting is to reach and maintain high top speeds to cover a set distance in the shortest possible time.
Iowa Highway 58 begins at the intersection of U.S. Route 63, known locally as Sergeant Road, and Hudson Road on the southern edge of Hudson. Iowa 58 passes Hudson High School and turns to the northwest through town. Between Ferrum and Rocky Mount, SR 40 parallels the Norfolk Southern Railway's north-south Winston- Salem District.
The road runs mostly northeast from the city, but straightens out briefly around the intersection of Rocky Springs Church Road. It curves back to the northeast after the intersection of two dirt roads named Northeast 113th and 115th Avenues. where the Four Freedoms Trail crosses from the east side to the west side. The closest resemblance to a major intersection at this point is with County Road 150, where a concurrency begins just before the road enters the unincorporated community of Pinetta.
Then it flows almost straight southwest, closely paralleling the western boundary of the City of Canandaigua, recrossing Buffalo Street Extension in the process. At Woodlawn Cemetery, it turns eastward again, following around the base of Arsenal Hill and entering the city. From West Avenue on the stream channel shows signs of having been modified.
Some grapefruit knives incorporate both types, a double-sided curved blade on one side and the parallel twin blades on the other. Another type includes an angled tip and double sided serrated blade. When both types are used, the result is an intact-looking fruit with sections which lift out easily - especially if a "grapefruit spoon" is used. In the 1950 film noir movie, In a Lonely Place, Humphrey Bogart's character straightens out a grapefruit knife, unaware of the purpose of its design.
About from the county line, the highway intersects another long north-south route, NY 10, south of Sharon Springs. US 20 proceeds for another to Sharon, where NY 145 provides a route to Cobleskill to the south. Shortly after this junction, US 20 straightens out and follows an almost due-east heading for to its intersection with NY 30A and the southern terminus of NY 162 at Sloansville. North of Faribault, the interstate heads due north before the two directions are briefly separated when they enter a corridor of trees. The route straightens out again and intersects County 1 and MN 19 at diamond interchanges spaced apart.
The rider also uses his or her inside seat bone to help maintain bend. If the rider is off-center or twisted, the horse will also be crooked or off-balance. If the horse loses quality in the movement, such as lack of correct bend (haunches leading or inside shoulder falling inward), loss of rhythm, or stiffness, the rider straightens the horse and rides forward. The beginning and the end of the movement needs special attention concerning control and balance.
The 7×33mm Sako cartridge was created in Finland in 1942 as a small game cartridge for animals such as the Capercaillie and Black Grouse. It is based on a 9×19mm Parabellum case that has been lengthened and necked down to accept a 7.21mm bullet. The cartridge overall length is 44.30mm with a case length of 33.30mm and a base diameter of 10mm. The bottleneck bends at 26.50 mm (dia 9.50 mm) and straightens at 29.12 mm (dia 7.80mm).
In fade- ins the shape of the perceived volume curve looks like the level in decibels pulled towards the middle part of the line to the bottom right corner. The fade-out in turn looks like it has been pulled toward the bottom-left corner. A logarithmic fade takes a line that has already been curved and straightens it out [15]. The logarithmic fade sounds consistent and smooth since the perceived volume is increased over the whole duration of the fade.
SH-266 begins at a cloverleaf interchange with U.S. Highway 169 (a Tulsa-area freeway), and heads northeast from there to meet the northern terminus of State Highway 167 near the Port of Catoosa (north of the town of Catoosa). The highway continues its northeastward descent into the small lakeside hamlet of Bleecker, where NY 309 ends at an intersection with Lily Lake Road.
The cap is obtusely conic to convex, and does not expand to become flattened with age; it reaches in diameter. Its margin is bent in slightly at first but soon straightens. The cap surface is smooth except for a faint fringe at the margin from a rudimentary veil, sticky, hygrophanous but opaque when moist, deep brown in the center and somewhat darker brown near the margin. As the mushroom matures, it fades slowly in the center to a dull cinnamon color.
Continuing north through rural farmland, LA 97 departs from its straight section line alignment and curves through a point known as Redich. Here, an intersection with LA 368 connects with the parallel LA 91 north of Iota. After intersecting another minor state route, LA 3068 (Barwick Road), LA 97 snakes its way to the northwest for about . Right before reaching I-15, the road passes under Union Pacific and UTA's FrontRunner railroad bridges. The highway crosses over I-15 and terminates at a single- point urban interchange serving the freeway at exit 293.
Footstraps are (optionally) attached to the deck to give more control to the rider. The board is unique in that it incorporates a patented steering geometry where the front wheel pivots from a point in front of and below the axle of the wheel, via the 'Swingarm'. The rider's weight automatically centres and straightens the front wheel, creating stability and control. Another feature of the Dirtsurfer which is not found on other four-wheeled boards is that, much like a bicycle, the stability actually increases with speed.
MD 147 makes a curvaceous descent into the Gunpowder Falls valley and, after crossing a bridge and making a sharp curve to the southeast, parallels Gunpowder Falls for a short distance before turning northeast again and away from the stream. After a curvaceous ascent from the river valley, the roadway straightens out to pass through farmland with scattered subdivisions. MD 147 crosses Long Green Creek and has a sharp S-curve around a hill before intersecting Glen Arm Road/Mt. Vista Road at a roundabout.
XMAP215/Dis1 proteins can add or remove tubulin dimers in a two-step process. XMAP215 has been shown to bind to tubulin in a 1:1 complex, meaning that XMAP215 might not bind multiple tubulin dimers at once. The αβ-tubulin dimer is known to interact with at least TOG domain, TOG1, which tightly binds inside the bend of the tubulin dimer and is also found beyond the direct plus-end of the microtubule. The tubulin then “straightens,” which forms a weak interaction with TOG1.
Fondu (; literally 'melted.') # Abbreviation for battement fondu, a lowering of the body made by bending the knee of the supporting leg, the working leg extending out à terre or in the air. Saint- Léon wrote, "Fondu is on one leg what a plié is on two." Fondu at the barre often refers to battement fondu développé, where the supporting leg begins fondu with the foot of the working leg at cou-de-pied; the working leg extends out through a petit développé as the supporting leg straightens.

The Mali Rzav (, "Little Rzav") is the Rzav's shorter headstream. It originates from the northern slopes of the Mučanj mountain, near the village of Katići. Originally the river flows to the west, but at the village of Bjeluša it makes a large elbow turn, parallel to the even larger elbow turn of the Veliki Rzav. At the villages of Gornja Krušćica and Vranovina, the Mali Rzav straightens its course to the north and on the southern slopes of the Blagaja mountain meets the Veliki Rzav.
Therefore, in the presence of females, males became eager and move their bodies back and forth. As the male attempts to mate with a female, there is a lot of decamping taking place. The highway gradually straightens to a north–south alignment as it crosses Highway 58A and a set of railway tracks, both of which travel beneath the nearby Welland Canal to the west. Continuing north, Highway 140 passes over Lyons Creek, which meanders northeast to converge with the Welland River west of the Niagara River.
After crossing into the Elmont neighborhood of Hempstead, NY 24 reduces to four lanes, crossing through a long commercial strip east of the racetrack. The route crosses through East Elmont before entering Floral Park Crest, where the roadway bends northeast through Hempstead. After crossing an intersection with Covert and Meacham Avenues, NY 24 straightens eastward once again, crossing a long commercial strip through town. The route soon makes a short bend to the southeast, crossing an intersection with New Hyde Park Road and Franklin Avenue later into West Hempstead.
The process is known as rectification, since it "straightens" the direction of current. Physically, rectifiers take a number of forms, including vacuum tube diodes, wet chemical cells, mercury-arc valves, stacks of copper and selenium oxide plates, semiconductor diodes, silicon-controlled rectifiers and other silicon-based semiconductor switches. Historically, even synchronous electromechanical switches and motors have been used. Early radio receivers, called crystal radios, used a "cat's whisker" of fine wire pressing on a crystal of galena (lead sulfide) to serve as a point-contact rectifier or "crystal detector".
Near a pair of shopping centers, the divider ends east of Croft Avenue, and the road resumes its status as an undivided four-lane highway with center-left turn lanes. Entering the Inverness City Limits, the road straightens out again at the intersection of South Pleasant Grove Road(County Road 581) and Forest Drive, where it becomes Main Street. CR 581 secretly joins SR 44 as a hidden route. One block before CR 581 leaves SR 44 to become its own route again, southbound US 41 joins SR 44.
As he straightens out his life, Carol begins to see him differently, and after a surprise passionate embrace on her doorstep, Doug and Carol begin to rekindle their relationship. Their relationship is held up by Carol's insecurities and bitter memories of the past. Frightened over what the staff might think, Carol and Doug romance each other in secret, even though it is obvious to the staff, who start an office pool over when they will out themselves. Doug's attempts to make up for his past mistakes and commit to her eventually pushes her back.
This is followed by a large dip that takes the train into a second set of mid-course brakes. Following a small drop to the left, the track straightens for a moment before making a right turn, a left turn, and then another right leading into the third set of mid-course brakes. An s-bend turn follows, which leads the train into an inclined loop and a fourth set of brakes. Finally, the train drops once more, travels over a small hill, and then enters the final brake run as the song playing ends.
At the beginning of each of his or her turns, during the Straighten Phase, a player straightens all bowed (turned 90 degrees to indicate using an effect) cards he or she currently controls. During the Events Phase, a player turns all of the face-down Dynasty cards in his or her provinces face-up. If these cards are regions or events, they immediately take effect. Regions (representing places in Rokugan) modify the province they are revealed in, while events (representing rare specific occurrences) have one global effect before being immediately discarded.
The most common way of delivering an attack in fencing is the lunge, where the fencer reaches out with his/her front foot and straightens his/her back leg. This maneuver has the advantage of allowing the fencer to maintain balance while covering far more distance than in a single step, yet still allowing a return to the more defensive fencing stance. Sometimes fencers do take the more "natural" kind of steps, where the back foot passes the front foot. These are usually referred to as cross-steps.
Once the cut is complete, the dealer picks up the deck, straightens or "squares" it, and deals the cards. Rules of procedure or etiquette may vary concerning who makes the cut, the minimum or maximum number of cards which may be cut off the top, whether the dealer or the cutter restacks the cards, whether a cut card is employed, and whether a cut is mandatory. In some games the cutter may choose not to cut; typically by knocking, i.e. tapping the top of the pack or the table with the fist.
Westbound and eastbound join together east of the mountain at La Cuesta, which features a lookout and military inspection station; in 2015, the regional chapter of the National Confederation of Truck Drivers complained that military inspection stations in Sonora and Baja California added significant time to their itineraries. The highway straightens out and passes through long stretches of desert, with the segment ending at an interchange allowing motorists to choose free Highway 2 to downtown Mexicali or the Libramiento de Mexicali. FIARUM, the state agency which holds the concession, was created in 1996.
Sevier County Courthouse along SR-118/SR-120/I-70 BL in Richfield North of Central Valley, the route passes Richfield Municipal Airport. North of the airport, the road enters Richfield as Main Street, widens to four lanes, and straightens to the north before a short overlap with SR-120 commences. As the concurrency ends, SR-120 continues north on Main Street while SR-118 turns east onto 300 North, a two-lane highway. The highway exits Richfield while SR-119 splits off toward Glenwood and SR-118 turns northeast.
Although the most widely used map of "The Tube," it preserves little of reality: it varies scale constantly and abruptly, it straightens curved tracks, and it contorts directions. The only topography on it is the River Thames, letting the reader know whether a station is north or south of the river. That and the topology of station order and interchanges between train lines are all that is left of the geographic space. Yet those are all a typical passenger wishes to know, so the map fulfills its purpose.
Basketball falling through hoop The two most common shots that use the above described setup are the set shot and the jump shot. Both are preceded by a crouching action which preloads the muscles and increases the power of the shot. In a set shot the shooter straightens up and throws from a standing position with neither foot leaving the floor; this is typically used for free throws. For a jump shot, the throw is taken in mid-air with the ball being released near the top of the jump.
In great contrast to the bright pristine nature of the stations, the dams are organic and entwined with the natural rock. They are generally arch dams, curved in plan, bearing onto the side walls of the valleys except in those dams where only one side of the valley is suitable for bearing. In these latter cases, the end of the dam straightens out, and the last section of gravity dam (where the weight of the dam itself resists the force of the water) then acts like a buttress to the more efficient arch dam.
This diving challenge reaches higher heights into smaller containers of water (a damp sponge) until finally, Bruno comes up with the challenge of diving off the platform into a block of cement ("On my head, yet!"). Bugs accepts the challenge and starts to do the stunt, but Bruno forces his way into going first. Bruno lands and is flattened on the cement block. When the dazed bear straightens up a bit, Bugs leads him toward what looks like the gangplank of a cruise ship, telling him that he's going on a 'trip' .
After a brief mêlée, a punchline is then shown, in which Chapman turns to the camera and says "Lucky that I didn't tell them about the dirty knife!" #"Animation – Musical Interlude" (S1, E2): A picture of Rodin's The Kiss appears, with the addition of several small holes along the woman's leg. The woman straightens her leg out, and the man plays her like an ocarina. #"Animation – How to Build Certain Interesting Things" (exclusive to this film): Garbage is dropped on a stage and banged repeatedly with a hammer.
When push-points are absent, but there is not enough space to use sidewinding because of lateral constraints, such as in tunnels, snakes rely on concertina locomotion. In this mode, the snake braces the posterior portion of its body against the tunnel wall while the front of the snake extends and straightens. The front portion then flexes and forms an anchor point, and the posterior is straightened and pulled forwards. This mode of locomotion is slow and very demanding, up to seven times the cost of laterally undulating over the same distance.
SR 292 begins in Clay County at an intersection with SR 53 at Butlers Landing along the banks of the Cumberland River. It winds its way east through mountains to pass through Baptist Ridge and the southern sliver of Standing Stone State Forest before crossing into Overton County. The highway straightens out as it turns southeast through flatter terrain for several miles before entering Hilham and coming to an end at a Y-intersection with SR 136. The entire route of SR 292 is a rural two-lane highway.
In 2008, Honey had been shortlisted as a potential candidate for General Secretary of the Labour Party. In September 2009, Honey was featured on the BBC Four programme Rich Man Poor Man: Ben Dover Straightens Up, where he attempted to search for personal fulfilment in his life and be taken seriously by making a break in mainstream acting. He performed his one-man show Innocent 'Til Proven Filthy at the 2009 Edinburgh Fringe Festival. Honey was cast for the role of Arthur in the comedy film On the Ropes.
After Facifica (Dolphy) straightens his sexual preference and becomes a straight man, he reverts to his old name Pacifico and becomes a doting husband to Ligaya (Pilar Pilapil) and a generous father to his three sons played by Eric (Eric Quizon), Rolly (Rolly Quizon), and Rodrigo (Roderick Paulate). Unfortunately, after Ligaya dies Rodrigo is affected so much that later on he finds out he is more female at heart than his brothers. Rodrigo has come to terms with his homosexuality and tries to gain acceptance from his father. Cristina (Zsa Zsa Padilla) marries Pacifico.
The donkey that used to carry the vinegar just died, and the Lord has taken him from his miserable life. Que tu ru ru ru ru... He was valiant, and he was black, he was the comfort of all the village. Que tu ru ru ru ru... He straightens his little hoofs, and opened his wide mouth, and with his tail firmly behind him, he said "goodbye" to everyone. Que tu ru ru ru ru... All the neighbors went to the funeral, and aunt Maria played the cattle-bell.
The state highway ascents out of the narrow river valley and enters Carroll County. SR 94 has a curvaceous path that crosses Brush Creek and Little Brush Creek and passes to the west of Cold Ridge. The state highway straightens and approaches the New River again as it enters Wythe County, then curves northwest and passes through the village of Ivanhoe. SR 94 heads north out of Ivanhoe, crosses Cripple Creek, and runs straight between intersections with its old alignment, named Virginia 94 Old or Sheffey School Road.
The second is route-road knowledge, and is generally developed after a person has performed a task and is relaying the information of that task to another person. The third is a survey, whereby a person estimates a distance based on a mental image that, to them, might appear like an actual map. This image is generally created when a person's brain begins making image corrections. These are presented in five ways: # Right-angle bias: when a person straightens out an image, like mapping an intersection, and begins to give everything 90-degree angles, when in reality it may not be that way.
During the second season, Maddy begins to resemble her cousin more and more: her hair (though still dark) straightens, she stops wearing her glasses, and in her carriage and demeanor she behaves more like Laura as seen in Twin Peaks: Fire Walk with Me than the Maddy of the first season. This causes conflict with Donna and James when James becomes attracted to her and she begins to return his feelings in spite of herself. Eventually, she is murdered by Leland Palmer, who is possessed by Bob, in a violent recreation of Laura's murder. Maddy's death quickly leads to Leland's arrest.
The highway follows a winding course until the surrounding gully empties into the much wider Tioughnioga River valley, where the route straightens out and intersects with CR 119 (Sears Road). East of this point, NY 222 begins to run northeastward past homes as it approaches Cortland County–Chase Field Airport. The route provides direct access to the airport and subsequently meets NY 281 (West Road) at the northeastern tip of the airport property. Eastbound on NY 222 in Cortland Past NY 281, NY 222 crosses a commercial section of Cortlandville, passing several strip malls prior to entering the city of Cortland.
Like the larvae of various fly families, including the family Tephritidae, the larvae of typical piophilids are notorious for jumping or "skipping", especially in their final instar. The larvae accomplish their jumps by bending over, grabbing onto the rears of their own bodies with their mouth hooks, and tensing their muscles in a manner that increases the pressure on their own blood and internal organs. When they release their grip, the internal pressure straightens out the tubular body, propelling the forequarters upwards, the rest of the body following. A series of photos illustrating this remarkable behaviour and a video can be seen at .
KY 255 begins at a junction with KY 252 in Barren County, near the Rocky Hill community. The route is narrow and considerably curvy until coming to a junction with KY 1297 later. After this junction, the route straightens somewhat, proceeding north for another before coming to an intersection with the cojoined US 68/KY 80 in the Bon Ayr community. KY 255 widens somewhat past this point, continuing on for another mile before bridging the Cumberland Parkway via way of an overpass. The route then proceeds north for before coming to an intersection with KY 1339.
A lateral release is a surgical procedure to release tight capsular structures (lateral retinaculum) on the outer aspect (lateral aspect) of the kneecap (patella). This is usually performed because of knee pain related to the kneecap being pulled over to the outer (lateral) side and not being able to run properly in the centre of the groove of the femur bone as the knee bends and straightens. The procedure is also known as a 'lateral retinacular release'. Amongst experienced knee surgeons with a special interest in diseases of the patellofemoral articulation, isolated lateral release is rarely performed.

Fearing for his life, Jimmy packs a suitcase and spends an indeterminate amount of time hitchhiking and train-hopping. He ends up in a small town where he attempts to rob a diner, but the kindly owner, Al (George Lloyd), recognizes Jimmy as a good boy in a bad situation, and offers him safe harbor and a job, as long as he agrees to give up crime and start going to church. After a period of living and working for Al, Jimmy's life straightens up and he confesses to his crimes. Al agrees to accompany Jimmy back home to turn himself in.
SH-152 in Caddo County SH-152 begins at the Texas state line in Roger Mills County. It runs just north of the county line, crossing State Highway 30, and continues east until it meets SH-6's northern terminus, where it turns toward the southeast, entering Beckham County. It straightens out to head through Sayre running east-west, where it meets both U.S. Highway 283 and Interstate 40. Six miles later it crosses State Highway 34 and six miles (10 km) after that it meets SH-6 again. SH-152 then crosses into Washita County and intersects State Highway 44 and 42.
Retinal is a conjugated chromophore. In the human eye, retinal begins in an 11-cis-retinal configuration, which, upon capturing a photon of the correct wavelength, straightens out into an all-trans-retinal configuration. This configuration change pushes against an opsin protein in the retina, which triggers a chemical signaling cascade which can result in perception of light or images by the human brain. The absorbance spectrum of the chromophore depends on its interactions with the opsin protein to which it is bound, so that different retinal-opsin complexes will absorb photons of different wavelengths (different colors of light).
SR 544 breaks off at a diagonal from U.S. Route 92 (US 92) in Auburndale and heads east-southeast toward Winter Haven as Havendale Boulevard; the name derives from the two cities it connects. In Winter Haven, it straightens out eastward as Avenue T North, conforming to Winter Haven's systematic road-naming grid plan. As SR 544 leaves Winter Haven, it becomes Lucerne Park Road, also going by the title Scenic Highway. It winds north and east around Lake Conine, Lake Smart, and Lake Fannie, and bypasses the community of Lucerne Park, on its way toward southern Haines City.
East of US 41, the route passes some entrances to the Imperial Estates trailer park, then a culvert over another dry river bed. The road takes a curve to the southeast before it encounters an at-grade crossing with the CSX Brooksville Subdivision, and then makes a sharp turn to the east. The trajectory doesn't last though, as it curves slightly to the southeast before the intersection with Rackley Road, and then straightens out to the east again before intersecting with Endsley Road, only to turn slightly to the northeast, and pass a small industrial park.
Cross-section of an electric guitar neck showing the position of the truss rod A guitar neck made of wood is prone to bending due mainly to atmospheric changes, and the pull created by changing to a different gauge of guitar strings and/or different tuning. A truss rod keeps the neck straight by countering the pull of the strings and natural tendencies in the wood. When the truss rod is loosened, the neck bends slightly in response to the tension of the strings. Similarly, when tightened, the truss rod straightens the neck by resisting string tension.
Both the approach and departure of the valley are fairly hazardous, with sharp curves and steep dropoffs. At about 7 miles, it reaches the top of the ridge, where the road straightens out for a distance of a mile. The western end of this stretch is marked by a four-way intersection in the unincorporated community of Pate, with Hartford Pike headed north, while Cass-Union Road heading south to SR 56 in Aberdeen. SR 262 then passes through a four-way stop in Cofield Corner with Salem Ridge Road headed north east, and Palmer Road headed south.
Part of the station lies on a grade of 3.0%, but within the platform area the line returns to a 5.0% grade. The line takes a slight left turn that tightens and turns another 80 degrees to run parallel with the line from Pfäffikon, which makes a 180-degree turn here. The line crosses a level crossing where it straightens on the approach to Samstagern station, which is orientated to the south-southwest. Next to the line on the right is the Samstagern workshop and the station building with a goods shed and a loading ramp is to the left.
East of the park, NY 436 straightens out and takes an easterly alignment across open, cultivated fields to an intersection west of the Portage hamlet of Oakland, where the road meets the western terminus of NY 70\. From here, NY 436 curves to the northeast for a short distance before resuming its eastward routing through the small hamlet of Oakland and into the town of Nunda. Just east of Oakland is the village of Nunda, which NY 436 enters as Portage Road. It proceeds eastward into the village center, where it connects to NY 408, the village's main north–south highway.
Miley and Lilly dress up as male rockers "Milo" and "Otis," go back to the recording studios, and play their own version of "We Got the Party" in front of the Jonas Brothers. When the brothers claim that Robbie Ray wrote the song for them, Milo (Miley) tells them that he and Otis (Lily) in fact wrote the song and that Robbie Ray stole it from them. The Jonas Brothers apologize and let Milo and Otis have the song, but just then Robby arrives. Miley and Lilly quickly hide and Robby straightens things out with the Jonas Brothers.
Continuing to curve to the east and move away from the southwestern portion of the county it crosses over the Steinhatchee River, but then starts to curve more northerly again, and even to the northwest before it approaches the western terminus of CR 360. The road curves back to the northeast and finally straightens out as it enters the Town of Mayo and becomes Fletcher Avenue. One other county road terminates at SR 51 in the town, specifically CR 355 which continues west as Pine Street. The much more important intersection is at the center of town which happens to be U.S. Route 27(West Main Street and East Man Street).
The examiner first straightens the ear canal by pulling on the pinna (usually the earlobe, side or top) and then inserts the ear speculum side of the otoscope into the external ear. It is important to brace the hand holding the otoscope against the patient's head to avoid injury to the ear canal by placing the index finger or little finger against the head. The examiner can then look through a lens on the rear of the instrument and see inside the ear canal. In many models, the lens can be removed, which allows the examiner to insert instruments through the otoscope into the ear canal, such as for removing earwax.
County Route 61 is unsigned Waverly Avenue, a mainly two-lane road that runs north and south along the Islip–Brookhaven town line until the town line makes a sharp left along the Greenport Branch of the Long Island Rail Road. ;Route description CR 61 begins at CR 19, in the town of Brookhaven where that section of Waverly Avenue becomes Patchogue–Holbrook Road, and Log Road becomes a dead end street. From here, road takes a northeasterly turn and straightens out along the Islip–Brookhaven town line. CR 61 is the last interchange along Woodside Avenue (CR 99) before its western terminus at Patchogue–Holbrook Road.
It then crosses Albert Lea Lake of a pair of bridges. It straightens back to the north to meet County 46, which follows the former route of US 16\. Shortly after that interchange, it intersects the national northern end of US 65; access to US 65 there is limited to the southbound lanes of I-35 and traffic from US 65 can only access the northbound lanes of I-35. At the northeastern edge of Albert Lea, there is an interchange with I-90, which directs traffic toward La Crosse, Wisconsin, or Sioux Falls, South Dakota. I-35 continues north through the rolling hills of southern Minnesota.
With the brace on, there still appeared to be a jerk in his action. When studying the film at varying speeds, it still appeared as if he straightened his arm, even though the brace makes it impossible to do so. His unique shoulder rotation and amazing wrist action seem to create the illusion that he straightens his arm. The off-spinner said the exercise was to convince a sceptical public rather than sway an ICC investigation into bowling actions launched after he was reported by match referee Chris Broad for his doosra delivery in March 2004, the third time action was taken on his bowling.
"And it will not be hard for a man with a normal amount of imagination to put himself in the place of his ancestors and see the Stony Clove transformed into the very gates of Hell." From the south, via Phoenicia, the approach up Stony Clove has less drama, since Hunter and Plateau are not visible until the notch is considerably closer. However, it offers much sylvan scenery, winding along Stony Clove Creek as it gradually gets higher and higher. Finally, at the Devil's Tombstone public campground it straightens out and the notch becomes apparent as it sweeps by Notch Pond and up to the height of land.
She straightens her hair, for example, which he characterizes as "mutilation". When Beneatha becomes distraught at the loss of the money, she is scolded by Joseph for her materialism. She eventually accepts his point of view that things will get better with a lot of effort, along with his proposal of marriage and his invitation to move with him to Nigeria to practice medicine. Walter is oblivious to the stark contrast between George and Joseph: his pursuit of wealth can be attained only by liberating himself from Joseph's culture, to which he attributes his poverty, and by rising to George's level, wherein he sees his salvation.
Pennsylvania Route 955 (designated by the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation as SR 0955) is a state highway that runs between Pennsylvania Route 5 in Lawrence Park and U.S. Route 20 in Harborcreek Township. Route 955 continues to travel away from Route 5 as Iroquois Avenue in a diagonal until it reaches Nagle Road, where it straightens out and runs parallel to US 20. The highway stays parallel until US 20 makes a sharp left turn and intersects with Route 955\. The route was first signed in 1928 and widened from Route 5 to an intersection with Nagle Road with a grassy median between 1950 and 1958.
He tries to dream of greatness until he finally understands what the squiggle means, and decides to be more unconventional. Willing to do whatever it takes to win the dot's affection, the line manages to bend himself and form angle after angle until he is nothing more than a mess of sides, bends and angles. After he straightens himself out, he settles down and focuses more responsibly on this new ability, creating shapes so complex that he has to label his sides and angles in order to keep his place. When competing again, the squiggle claims that the line still has nothing to show to the dot.
As it straightens out again it crosses the Calhoun-Jackson County Line. The route continues to run primarily through forestland, although farmland exists north of the county line, then again north of Bone Yard Road, and again at a point where the road briefly curves to the northwest. Past the intersection with Raylene Road, the route turns more northerly again as it passes by a smaller parcel of private property lined with pine trees in the front yard. The first moderate intersection over the county line is another dual termini, this time of County Roads 278 & 69A, both of which are named Birchwood Road and apparently shared in a concurrency with County Road 280.
The train climbing the mountain The train straightens itself at the top of the hill but then goes over a bridge, which bends exaggeratedly to accommodate its weight. Through a tunnel and then uphill again at almost a ninety degree angle, the train is now exhausted and starts panting as it begins to slow down. It then starts crawling like a giant caterpillar, curling and uncurling itself as it moves up the hill. Just a few feet from the summit, the train reaches out its wheels as hands in an attempt to get a handhold but as it grabs the mountain, we see a part of the hillside peeling away and displaying spotted underwear.
The awn becomes twisted when dry and straightens when moistened, and in combination with the spike is capable of drilling the seed into the soil. The species is known by many common names, including black speargrass, tanglehead, steekgras (in Afrikaans) and pili (in Hawaiian). H. contortus is a valuable pasture species across much of its range however it has also been responsible for the elimination of the wool industry over much of Australia due to the seeds becoming embedded in the wool and skin of sheep and devaluing the wool and killing the animals. H. contortus seeds are also responsible for similar injuries in dogs with thick undercoats, or becoming embedded in the socks and skin of hikers.
About south of Boiceville, the highway crosses Traver Hollow Brook by way of a bridge that leads the road to the lower slopes of Samuels Point, where houses begin to appear in the woods on the western side of the road. NY 28A closely follows the base of the hill, winding back and forth as it heads southward toward the hamlet of West Shokan. NY 28A east of West Shokan, in New York City watershed land After of continuous curves, the road straightens out just north of West Shokan, where it crosses the Bushkill. Immediately beyond the creek is an intersection with Watson Hollow Road (CR 42) and the center of West Shokan.
In the sport of cricket, throwing, commonly referred to as chucking, is an illegal bowling action which occurs when a bowler straightens the bowling arm when delivering the ball. The Laws of Cricket specify that only the rotation of the shoulder can be used to impart velocity to the ball – a bowler's arm must not extend during the bowling action. If the umpire deems that the ball has been thrown, they will call a no-ball which means the batsman cannot be given out from that delivery. Current regulations of the International Cricket Council (ICC) set the legal limit of 15 degrees of permissible straightening of the elbow joint for all bowlers in international cricket.
Due to her obsession with Monk, Marci is well-educated on just about every aspect of Monk's life and career. Although Monk is mostly annoyed by her, he becomes momentarily flattered when Marci starts acting as his buffer in relation to his personal quirks and social dealings with people. In one scene, Marci actually performs Monk's obsessive- compulsive tendencies for him, where she straightens a man's hat and evens out his sleeves in a perfect imitation of Monk's behavior, and all Monk has to do is stand and wait. Marci firmly lays various 'ground rules' of what the man can and cannot say to Monk before permitting the man to talk to him.
Halcombe grew up in South Australia, and studied at St Peter's College, Adelaide in his youth. There he earned the attention of cricket watchers for his skill and his suspect action. Halcombe was suspected of throwing, meaning an illegal bowling action in which a player straightens his arm in the process of delivering the ball, thereby throwing it, whereas the laws of cricket required that a bowler did not change the angle of his elbow in delivering the ball. In 1923, while still a schoolboy, he was observed by former England captain Archie MacLaren (who was currently visiting Australia as part of the Marylebone Cricket Club team) and former Australia captain and all rounder George Giffen.Whimpress, p. 52.
At the age of fourteen, she was called up for training in the Turkey women's under 19 national team, as there was no U-17 national team in Turkey at the time; German Football Association coach Bettina Wiegmann had her sights on her as well, but she chose the national team of her parents' native country. After completing her secondary education with a "Fachabitur", she began a two-year trainee program, which will last until 2014, as a tax expert assistant in her brother Irfan's office. Arzu Karabulut admits that she is a great fan of Lionel Messi. She said in a newspaper interview that she even straightens her curly hair for her admiration.
Sahota went on to invent several others devices, some non-medical, including the one with his son Neil about Identity Theft, especially for credit cards. On 17 January 1990 Sahota performed the first coronary angioplasty in North India and nine more followed in the week that the team spent in Chandigarh. After the perfusion balloon, Sahota invented Multi-lobe perfusion balloon that straightens the artery on inflation during operation preventing blockages to occur at the bend of the artery. As an inventor, he holds a total of 24 patents and many other medical inventions such as Red Laser Light for prevention of Restenosis, Fibrin coated Stent, Hemostat to stop bleeding from ruptured artery during the procedure.
After crossing into Richland Parish, the highway passes through the town of Delhi and straightens to follow alongside the abandoned right-of-way of the Missouri Pacific Railroad. The northern half of LA 17 functions as the main north–south highway through West Carroll Parish, connecting the villages of Epps, Pioneer, Forest, and Kilbourne, as well as the parish seat of Oak Grove. In Delhi, LA 17 connects with both Interstate 20 (I-20) and US 80, providing access to the ancient Native American earthworks at Poverty Point State Historic Site and National Monument. This site is located along LA 134 just east of Epps and was designated as a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 2014.
Sharpening straight edges (knives, chisels, etc.) by hand can be divided into phases. First the edge is sharpened with an abrasive sharpening stone, or a succession of increasingly fine stones, which shape the blade by removing material; the finer the abrasive the finer the finish. Then the edge may be stropped by polishing the edge with a fine abrasive such as rouge or tripoli on a piece of stout leather or canvas. The edge may be steeled or honed by passing the blade against a hard metal or ceramic "steel" which plastically deforms and straightens the material of the blade's edge which may have been rolled over irregularly in use, but not enough to need complete resharpening.
Although the judge finds Papa Chibou guilty, as required by law, he is so impressed that he suspends the punishment and contributes towards the purchase price of the figure which is given to Papa Chibou who then confesses that as an uneducated man he never knew that Napoleon had accomplished all those great deeds and that he simply formed a close attachment to him. "Then who did you think Napoleon was", he is asked. "A sort of murderer", he replies. At that point, as he straightens Napoleon's pockets, Papa Chibou discovers the overlooked letter which explains and resolves Georges' and Helene's misunderstanding, thus allowing the young lovers an opportunity to declare their true feelings, with her father's blessing.
Route 37 then carries the trail to the hamlet of Rooseveltown in the town of Massena, where the Seaway Trail ends just shy of the Franklin County line. Travelers finding themselves at the end of the trail can cross the border into Canada on the Seaway International Bridge, traversing a thin wedge of Quebec before ending up in Cornwall, Ontario. This is the point at which New York's northern border straightens out and proceeds due east (along the 45th parallel north) rather than following the St. Lawrence River, which cuts through Quebec. Attractions along this northeasternmost segment of the Seaway Trail include Singer Castle, the Frederic Remington Art Museum in Ogdensburg, the Eisenhower Locks on the river near Massena, and a few more historic lighthouses.
The seventh plate has a river god above a 34 line Latin poem by Edward Benlowes, with another cherub in the sky above, dressed as an American Indian and leading with an ostrich. Hollar's panorama was preceded by the Visscher panorama of 1616, which straightens out the river so buildings on each bank are displayed in a line, and John Norden's Civitas Londini of 1600, both of which are composite drawings made from a variety of different viewpoints. Hollar published another panorama of London and Westminster in 1666, showing views of the city from Lambeth "before" and "after" Great Fire of London. Two of Hollar's preliminary sketches were sold at Sotheby's in 1931, and are now held by the Yale Center for British Art.
The Our Lady of Kursk icon, 13th century At the right, burly peasants carry a platform holding the icon inside an elaborate neo-classical case; only gleams of light reflecting off the gold riza icon-cover can be made out. Lines of peasants joining hands hold back the crowd, the foremost at the left trying to stop the crippled boy breaking through the cordon with his stick. Alongside ride peasant or priest stewards and officials and police in uniform, some of the latter beating back the crowd with their riding crops. Behind the icon follow priests and better-dressed people, carrying icons in front of their chest, and an "effete, dandified and bored priest" in vestments carefully straightens his hair.
A road tunnel, opened in Oct 2004, bypasses the village, considerably reducing the through-traffic and sparing travellers the long wait at grade level crossing of the Bruenigbahn in the village center. Next, just a few hundred meters after the Giswil tunnel comes the Zollhouse tunnel, a 417-m Cut-and-cover long stretch that straightens out a narrow section of road next to the Sarnen Lake (due to open in mid-2010). A few hundred meters further comes the portal to the next bypass tunnel, that of Sachseln, which, with its just over length, is one of the longer single bore road tunnels in Switzerland. After the tunnel is Sarnen, where the road is expanded to a 4 lane divided highway.
Every fish has two Mauthner cells, located in the bottom part of the brainstem, one on the left side and one on the right. Each Mauthner cell has an axon that crosses over, innervating (stimulating) neurons at the same brain level and then travelling down through the spinal cord, making numerous connections as it goes. The synapses generated by a Mauthner cell are so powerful that a single action potential gives rise to a major behavioral response: within milliseconds the fish curves its body into a C-shape, then straightens, thereby propelling itself rapidly forward. Functionally this is a fast escape response, triggered most easily by a strong sound wave or pressure wave impinging on the lateral line organ of the fish.

SR 21 heads northeast for several blocks until its intersection with the east-west connector San Juan Avenue SR 128\. Prior to SR 21's northern terminus, Blanding continues to the northeast for several more blocks north of San Juan Avenue until it straightens to the north again and crosses St. Johns Avenue. Blanding Boulevard has a full intersection with Park Street, with eastbound Park Street providing access to US 17 south. North of Park Street, Blanding becomes a limited access connecting overpass crossing over Hamilton Street, a double tracked railroad, and has an interchange with US 17 (Roosevelt Boulevard) northbound at the edge of Florida State College at Jacksonville's Kent Campus, also with access from US 17 Roosevelt Boulevard southbound to SR 21 southbound.
When you have his kind of [criminal] record, his kind of history — the chance of getting a job was nil." Without the plea deal, Street would have faced up to 20 years in jail. William Street's impersonations started at least as far back as 1970 (posing as a Time magazine reporter) and other false identities he assumed included those of a Houston Oilers wide receiver, an all-star football player from the University of Michigan, a physician at Henry Ford Hospital (in 1973), attorneys (1979 and 1980) and as a first-year medical student at Yale University. Staff at the Detroit Human Rights Department where he posed as an attorney volunteer found him skillful enough that "if he ever straightens out, we wouldn't mind having him back.
It then has an intersection and becomes concurrent with SR 96 immediately afterwards, and goes east through some more mountains before SR 96 separates and goes north. The road then straightens out and widens as it enters Baxter and just north of town before coming to an intersection with SR 56. It then has an intersection with SR 291 in the Double Springs community before entering Cookeville. It goes through some neighborhoods and passes by some businesses before entering downtown at an intersection with SR 135, which provides access to Tennessee Technological University (TTU). It then continues through downtown to have an intersection with SR 136 before leaving downtown and continuing through some more neighborhoods to an interchange with SR 111 before having an interchange with I-40 (Exit 290).
With the umbrella in danger from the traffic, the objects attempt to protect him from oncoming cars: a construction sign lights up to redirect an oncoming vehicle, a gurgling drain pipe spews water to push him out of the way, another construction sign falls on him to fling him away from another car, and a drain blasts him into the air, but he is hit by a truck, visibly upsetting the objects that have tried to help him. Battered and bruised, the umbrella is found by his owner who straightens him out just as the owner of the red umbrella approaches, reuniting the two of them. The objects of the city silently celebrate their reunion as the umbrellas' owners sit down together at a local café, allowing the two umbrellas to be together after all.
The San Marcos Bridge under construction in 2012 The last stretch of Highway 132D to be completed, with inauguration in 2014, is the stretch that leaves Huauchinango and the town of Nuevo Necaxa. This stretch passes Xicotepec de Juárez, with a number of tunnels, and is carried on the long and deep , formally named for Gilberto Borja Navarrete and the second longest of its type in the world. Northeast of the bridge, a spur provides access to Villa Ávila Camacho, which marks the end of the final completed leg; after the spur, the road straightens out and heads due northeast for Tihuatlán in Veracruz. At the interchange with Mexican Federal Highway 180 south of Tihuatlán, the 132D designation ends, and traffic continues straight on Mexican Federal Highway 130D bound for Tuxpan.
The road runs east of The Villages as it crosses the Lake–Marion county line, where it straightens from northwest to north, and then curves more towards the northeast before County Road 42 in Weirsdale. North of Weirsdale, the road served as the main route along the east shore of Lake Weir, although it's not always the closest road to the lake. It turns straight north as it enters Eastlake Weir, and continues to run along the lake curving west along the north side as it enters Ocklawaha, where it serves as both the southern terminus of County Road 464C (Southeast 135th Avenue), and later the southeastern terminus of County Road 464. After passing near Lake Weir Seaplane Base, the road heads northwest again just before the intersection with Southeast 119th Court.
Yumi Fukuzawa (Honoka Miki) has been attending Lillian Girls' Academy, a Catholic high school, for about six months when one day, while praying in front of the Virgin Mary statue near the school entrance, she is approached by second-year student Sachiko Ogasawara (Haru) who straightens Yumi's uniform neckerchief. Yumi's classmate Tsutako Takeshima (Alice Hirose) later shows her that she took a photograph of Yumi's meeting with Sachiko earlier that morning. Tsutako agrees to give Yumi the photo, but only if she can display it at the upcoming school festival and get Sachiko's permission to do so as well. As Sachiko is a member of the Yamayuri Council, which acts as the student council, they head over to the Rose Mansion on campus, the meeting place of the council.
Both Don's therapist and Edgerton himself bring up the incident in which a suspect was tortured that nearly took Don over the edge ("One Hour" and "Pandora's Box"), but given the fact that it was done to obtain the whereabouts of a missing FBI agent, Don and Ian's superiors appear to be overlooking the matter for now. He was distraught over his father working with him in "Under Pressure", fearing for his safety. His father though straightens him out and shows him that he can help, which garners Don's gratitude -- this surprises Alan. In "The Janus List", Don sympathizes with the brilliant cryptographer's desire to feel that his life had meaning, showing another side of him to his father, as he usually would not appreciate any sentiments of a criminal.

Functionally this is a fast escape response, triggered most easily by a strong sound wave or pressure wave impinging on the lateral line organ of the fish. Mauthner cells are not the only identified neurons in fish—there are about 20 more types, including pairs of "Mauthner cell analogs" in each spinal segmental nucleus. Although a Mauthner cell is capable of bringing about an escape response individually, in the context of ordinary behavior other types of cells usually contribute to shaping the amplitude and direction of the response.
Maria-sama ga Miteru's story revolves around the students of the Lillian Girls' Academy and is character-driven, focusing on interactions between the characters rather than any sort of ongoing plot or goal to attain. When the story begins, Yumi Fukuzawa, a first-year student at Lillian, is praying in front of the Virgin Mary statue near the school entrance when she is suddenly approached by a cold second-year student named Sachiko Ogasawara who straightens Yumi's uniform neckerchief. This seemingly simple act of kindness stays with Yumi the rest of the day, and she speaks of her meeting with Sachiko to her friends during class and lunch. After school is over, Yumi's classmate Tsutako Takeshima meets with Yumi to show her that she took a photograph of Yumi's meeting with Sachiko earlier that morning.
To neutralize her as a threat to Jessica's chances she caused Ella to become heavily intoxicated and placed her in the nude while unconscious in a lecture classroom. This comes back to haunt Jessica when Ella becomes the judge assigned to a case involving her client. Whenever Jessica feels that someone is too uptight, she "straightens them out"; to straighten Louis Litt out, she did to him what she did to Ella, and she told him to blame Harvey, to straighten Harvey out. Jessica is in a quandary with respect to Harvey: she realizes Harvey is her greatest asset and the firm's best rainmaker because of his willingness to do whatever it takes to win, but she has difficulty controlling him and she cannot trust him to do exactly as she instructs.
Noble comb Lister comb Holden comb, made in 1914 Combing straightens the fibres, isolates the long ones (tops) for spinning and discards the short ones (noil). There are various types of combing machines here, including the French comb, the Lister comb and the Holden comb. The Noble comb was the most popular as it would comb long, medium and fairly short staple wool, but the slivers needed special preparation in a punching machine beforehand. In the French comb the slivers of wool are fed forward by ratchet-operated rollers and a pinned feed grid, the leading end of the fibres being pushed beyond the nipper jaws which open and shut to receive and hold them, leaving a fringe of fibres protruding through which the pins of the revolving cylinder comb pass, removing the short fibres or noil and any impurities.
A ball can be a no-ball for several reasons: if the bowler bowls from the wrong place; or if he straightens his elbow during the delivery; or if the bowling is dangerous; or if the ball bounces more than once or rolls along the ground before reaching the batsman; or if the fielders are standing in illegal places. A no-ball adds one run to the batting team's score, in addition to any other runs which are scored off it, and the batsman can't be dismissed off a no-ball except by being run out, hitting the ball twice, or obstructing the field. Law 22: Wide ball. An umpire calls a ball "wide" if, in his or her opinion, the ball is so wide of the batsman and the wicket that he could not hit it with the bat playing a normal cricket shot.
Still just to the north of Little Cottonwood Creek, Vine Street curves a short distance south on an S-curve but then straightens out and heads straight east (away from the creek) until its terminus at State Route 152. Wheeler Historic Farm is just across Little Cottonwood Creek from Vine Street in the area near the S-curve, Woodstock Elementary School is on the north side at 1300 East, and Vine Street also crosses the Jordan and Salt Lake Canal a few blocks west of its terminus. The only commercial areas along this part of Vine Street are at 900 East, 1300 East, and near the eastern terminus. Traffic continuing further east can use Big Cottonwood Road (6200 South, previously part of State Route 152) or Interstate 215, both a short distance south on Highland Drive (the southern extension of modern State Route 152).
In the squat snatch, the lifter lifts the bar as high as possible and pulls themselves under it in a squat position, receiving the bar overhead with the arms straight, decreasing the necessary height of the bar, therefore increasing the amount of weight that the lifter may successfully lift. The lifter finally straightens to a fully upright position with the bar above his head and arms fully extended. In the split snatch, the lifter lifts the bar as high as possible and pulls themselves under the bar similar to the squat snatch but in the split snatch the lifter "splits" his legs, placing one foot in front of them and one behind, allowing themselves to receive the bar lower as in the squat snatch. The split snatch has become much less common with the increased popularity of the squat snatch but is occasionally performed by some lifters.
The two interstates head west together through southern Council Bluffs for on separate carriageways. Just before I-80 crosses the Missouri River into Nebraska, I-29 immediately turns to the north. Two miles (3.2 km) to the north is a modified Y interchange with US 6 and the eastern end of I-480. North of Council Bluffs, I-29 passes the eastern terminus of I-680 near Crescent. I-29 travels north for before intersecting with the western terminus of I-880 near Loveland. I-29 continues north for to Missouri Valley, where it intersects US 30\. North of Missouri Valley, the interstate turns to the northwest towards Modale and then straightens out again south of Mondamin, where I-29 meets the western end of Iowa 127\. From Mondamin, it travels north for to the Iowa 175 interchange at Onawa, passing Little Sioux and Blencoe.
10th Avenue in the vicinity of Barangay 91 in Grace Park East 10th Avenue is a national road classified by the Department of Public Works and Highways as a tertiary road. The road runs for from its western terminus at the intersection of M. Hizon Street and the Philippine National Railways line in Grace Park West to its eastern terminus at Kamantigue Street in Grace Park East close to Andres Bonifacio Avenue at the city's border with Quezon City's Balingasa and Pag-Ibig sa Nayon villages in Balintawak. The avenue is divided into two segments by Rizal Avenue which also serves as the dividing line between Grace Park West and Grace Park East. At its western segment, 10th Avenue begins just east of the 10th Avenue railway station in Barangay 64 and curves slightly to the north before the intersection with Vibora Street and straightens out as it crosses several streets towards Rizal Avenue.
Jaws also has an uncanny ability to survive any misfortune seemingly unscathed and come back to challenge Bond again. In The Spy Who Loved Me, Jaws survives an Egyptian structure's collapse on top of him, being hit by a van, being thrown from a rapidly moving train, sitting in the passenger seat of a car which veers off a cliff in Sardinia and lands in a hut below (to the owner's dismay), a battle underwater with a shark and the destruction of Stromberg's lair. In Moonraker, he survives falling several thousand feet after accidentally disabling his own parachute (he falls through a circus tent and lands in the trapeze net), a crash through a building inside a runaway cable car (where he meets Dolly) and going over Iguazu Falls. After each of these incidents (except the last), he always picks himself up, dusts off his jacket, straightens his tie (in much the same way as Bond himself) and nonchalantly walks away.
As the second part of the draw, assuming that the student is right-handed, the elbow of the gun arm swings in an arc directly to the left to a point as close to the center-line of the body as it can get, and there presses into the stomach. While the elbow is moving to the left, the three bottom fingers wrap around the gun butt, and the thumb wraps around the back-strap of the gun and locks against the uppermost of the bottom three fingers; the gun now being firmly grasped in the hand, and if the move has been made correctly, the gun barrel now makes a straight line with the forearm. As the elbow continues to move to the left, the index finger inserts itself into the trigger guard and comes to rest against the trigger. As the final step before the elbow completes its move to the left, the wrist straightens up and locks rigidly.
The road continues on this trajectory thanks to a 2007 FDOT construction project, but eventually straightens before approaching the northern terminus of State Road 883 (former US 331/SR 83) in Owl's Head. From that point it runs along the eastern edge of Eglin Air Force Base, which includes the Eglin Wildlife Management Area. This territory ends across the street from the intersection of Edgewood Circle. After the intersection with Indian Creek Ranch Road, US 331/SR 83 makes a slight northwest curve to meet the southern end of County Road 278 (Coy Burgess Loop). The road runs straight north from there and becomes a divided highway as it approaches the north end of CR 278 just south of Interstate 10 at Exit 85 in DeFuniak Springs. Within the city, US 331/SR 83 remains a divided highway running in the same trajectory, where the only intersection of any level of importance is CR 280(Bob Sikes Road).
A white light blooms outside the window, stirring the curtains, and then disappears. Hammond looks up and turns his head from side to side, as if listening, and then straightens up confidently, saying “Ah yes, my address to Congress.” A shaken Pendie tells Beek what has happened. “There was something in the room that made me shiver.” She reminds Beek that from the time of the accident they both felt that the President was really two men but she just became aware of a third being. She asks, “What if God sent the Angel Gabriel to do for Judd Hammond what he did for Daniel?” Beek says he thought that Gabriel was a messenger of wrath, and she replies that to some he was a messenger of revelations. “Hmmmm,” Beek muses, “Gabriel over the White House.” In his office, Hammond looks out the window into the dark, to the empty sidewalk along Pennsylvania Avenue.
If a navigator knows how long the ship has sailed on the erroneous course, he can calculate its current distance from its intended course, and estimate how long it must sail back on a new bearing until it recovers its old course. In the Corsica-to-Genoa example, there is an implied triangle ACD, with one side given (AC = 70 miles on actual NW course), a 45° angle at A (angle of difference between actual course NW and intended course N) and another angle of 90° at C (angle of difference between actual course NW and return course NE). The challenge to the navigator is to find how long one must sail on the NE return course (the length of side CD, what is called the ritorno) and how far one has advanced on the intended course by the time one straightens out (the length of the hypotenuse AD, or what is called the total avanzo). This is elementary trigonometry, solving for two sides given one side (70) and two angles (45° and 90°).
US-183 enters Kansas in Clark County and turns east at Sitka, where it begins a multiplex with US-160, entering Comanche County, where it passes through Protection. US-56 and US-183 turn northeast before the highways split after entering Pawnee County. US-56 continues northeast toward Larned, and US-183 straightens out to pass through largely unpopulated areas in Edwards County. In Rush County, US-183 intersects two primary east-west Kansas state highways, K-96 in Rush Center and K-4 in LaCrosse.
He took 60 wickets for Derbyshire but with one five wicket over. Although facing strong competition from bowlers such as Brian Statham and Fred Trueman, Rhodes might have expected to play many more Tests. But doubts about the legality of his bowling action emerged, and in the 1960 season, playing for Derbyshire against the South Africans, he was "called" for throwing – bowling the ball with a bent arm that straightens in the delivery – by the umpire and former Test batsman, Paul Gibb. Later in the 1960 season, he was no-balled again by Gibb, and by Syd Buller. He took 78 first-class wickets in the season and took two five wicket innings. Rhodes was then subjected to a long and detailed examination of his action by MCC committees; he was eventually cleared in 1968 when it was declared that he had a "hyper-extended arm". But by then, his Test career was long gone, although he had continued to bowl successfully for Derbyshire across the 1960s. In the 1961 season he topped Derbyshire's bowling with 101 and took six five wicket innings.
After two years' marriage the Harwells are famously still devoted to one another, and when she is found dead at their weekend cottage in the country Wimsey is asked to help interview the distraught husband, and becomes involved with the investigation. (He is also asked to undertake sensitive diplomatic duties connected with the problematic behaviour of the new king, and as the 1936 abdication crisis looms, he gloomily predicts the coming war with Hitler's Germany.) Suspicion falls on a writer known to have been in love with Mrs Harwell, and a talented but bohemian painter who had been working on portraits of both Harriet and the murdered woman. Two men who knew Mrs Harwell's father in prison, and who have been blackmailing him with threats to harm her, are also suspected. Meanwhile, Harriet straightens out her domestic situation, learning how to fulfill her new role whilst keeping her own identity, and finds a practical solution to allow Wimsey's devoted manservant Bunter to marry without having to leave the household.
