In 1988 Prast joined TV star Jay Laga'aia as co-host for the first Coca-Cola 24-hour Music Weekend. In 1988 he also performed on the Telethon, alongside EastEnders star Letitia Dean and Dalvanius Prime with the Patea Maori Club. In 2017, he co- presented Jack Whitehall: Travels with My Father, a travel documentary/road trip through Southeast Asia with his son on Netflix. In a complete foul up, Wilson had somehow penalised the wrong man as it was actually Qld halfback Mark Murray who had fed the scrum! When Motrimer protested his innocence, Wilson then marched the Blues 10 metres downfield for backchat. It was at the end of the following set of tackles where Lewis put in his kick leading to the Blues fateful fumble.

Timothy Gibson Bowden (born 2 August 1937), is an Australian author, radio and television broadcaster and producer, and oral historian. He was born in Hobart, Tasmania, and studied at the University of Tasmania, where he graduated with a Bachelor of Arts degree. Bowden's work has included hosting the Australian Broadcasting Corporation program Backchat (1986–1994), producing This Day Tonight during the 1970s, and founding the ABC's Social History Unit. His other productions include Prisoners of War – Australians Under Nippon and the 24-part series Taim Bilong Masta – The Australian Involvement with Papua New Guinea.

Backchat was a half-hour television show on FX which ran through the mid-1990s right after the network's inception and was hosted by Jeff Probst. The show consisted of him and two designated letter-readers reading viewer letters and responding on air. At the time, FX's gimmick was the FX Apartment, which the hosts of various TV shows (such as Breakfast Time and Sound FX) would use as a set. Also part of this gimmick was a very high level of interaction with viewers via their letters and e-mails, hence the TV show.

Film scholar Richard Schickel, in his 1968 book The Disney Version, argued that the group of crows in the film were African American stereotypes. They were voiced by African American actors and singers of the popular all-black "Hall Johnson Choir", including actors James Baskett (Song of the South) and Nick Stewart (The Amos 'n' Andy Show). Ward Kimball, the chief animator of the crows, used famous African-American dancers Freddie and Eugene Jackson as live-action reference for the characters. The personalities and mannerisms of the crows—specifically their fast-paced, back and forth dialogue—were inspired by the backchat found on the band records of Cab Calloway and Louis Armstrong.

Most of the shows would feature instant responses to e-mailed questions, and one show, Backchat (hosted by Jeff Probst), was exclusively devoted to responding to viewer mail, whether sent through e-mail or traditional postal mail. Select viewers were allowed to spend a day at the "apartment" and take part in all of the channel's shows. Inside the channel's syndicated programming blocks, channel hosts would frequently appear during commercial breaks to read news headlines, respond to e-mails from viewers about the episode that was airing, or to promote upcoming programming. The first incarnation of fX was not available on Time Warner Cable, one of the major cable systems in New York City, where its programming originated.

Following his retirement from sports, Akabusi became a television presenter, working on several shows including Record Breakers (joining after the death of long- serving presenter Roy Castle in 1994) and The Big Breakfast, and regularly appeared as a panelist on many quiz shows such as A Question of Sport, They Think It's All Over and Through the Keyhole. In 1997 he appeared as a milkman on Last of the Summer Wine in the episode "There Goes the Groom". Other appearances include: Come Dine With Me in 2011; in an Olympic-themed advert for Nature Valley cereal bars in 2012; a cameo in a red button episode of EastEnders; The Big Fat Quiz of The 80's; A League of Their Own; Never Mind The Buzzcocks and Backchat. In 2017, Akabusi became a commentator on ITV's Bigheads with Jenny Powell.
