Ravels () is a municipality located in the Belgian province of Antwerp. The municipality comprises the towns of Poppel, Ravels proper and Weelde. On January 1, 2012 Ravels had a total population of 14,515. The total area is 94.99 km² which gives a population density of 153 inhabitants per km².

The population of Belgium started to increase permanently with the late Bronze Age from around 1750 BCE. Three possibly related European cultures arrived in sequence. First the Urnfield culture arrived (for example, tumuli are found at Ravels and Hamont- Achel in the Campine). Then, coming into the Iron Age, the Hallstatt culture, and the La Tène culture.

Born in Lier, Belgium, Louis was the son of Joannes Berckmans and Carolina van Ravels. He came of a family of great proprietors who had estates in Belgium. In 1829, his first wife Marie Gaudens died when their son Prosper was born, and he subsequently married Marie Rubens in 1834. After the Belgian Revolution was fought over the Berckman's family land, there were serious feuds between the family and strong political factions in the country.

Near Ravels, the Belgian army was rapidly driven into the surrounding forests by the Dutch and subsequently into a swamp. The Belgians later retreated to Turnhout, allowing the Dutch to set up camp. The sound of the Dutch artillery alarmed the population of Turnhout, who fled en masse towards Antwerp. The next day a Dutch force of about 11,000 prepared to take Turnhout, while another Dutch corps made a diversion towards Antwerp (in reality they would attack Turnhout from another direction).

In 1905 they filed a patent for a system by which a vehicle could execute a somersault. They went on to build the "vortex of death", which toured the Parisian music halls. The show was taken to the US and presented by the Barnum and Bailey circus until the car missed its soft landing and crashed, killing the driver. Some time after the Ravels invented a circular water track with an artificial current, ancestor of the modern jacuzzi, which let a swimmer train without needing an Olympic-size pool.

Weelde Air Base is a NATO reserve airfield located in Weelde, a village in the Ravels municipality in Belgium. It is operated by the Belgian Air Component that has no military flight operations at that location, besides aircraft arriving to be stored or leaving storage, for example retired F-16 aircraft.F-16 Air Forces - Belgium The Belgian Air Component also uses the airfield for the activities of the Belgian Air Cadets. Weelde Air Base is also publicly accessible as a light general aviation field and home to the gliding club "Kempische Aero Club".

Born in Baltimore, Maryland in 1830, Granville Perkins became a scene painter at the age of fifteen, working with the Ravel family on theatrical productions such as Mazulua, The Green Monster, and Jacko or the Brazilian Ape. With the Ravels, Perkins traveled to Cuba, Jamaica, Yucatán, and Central America between 1851 and 1856. The paintings he based on these travels give evidence of his passion for tropical subjects. In 1856 he exhibited a painting based on his travels, Cape Croix, Cuba, at the Pennsylvania Academy of the Fine Arts.

She recorded a recital of Mahler,Webern,Berg songs with the pianist Jonathan Zak -- joined for Ravels" Chancones Madecasses" and Handels "Mi Palpita il Core"-- by M. Haran , A. Biron and Shalev Ad El. For her special contribution to Israeli music, Zakai received the Composers and Playwrights association award [ACUM]. In 1990 Zakai won the Arts and Culture Council prize for best performance of Israeli compositions. In honour of Israel's 50th anniversary she received a special award for her dedication,contribution,inspiration and performance of Israeli contemporary music from the minister of culture and education. In 1997, Zakai moved into teaching, becoming a professor at the Buchmann-Mehta School of Music, University of Tel Aviv.

At the end of the day a long convoy, made up of a truck and about fifteen vehicles, left the city in direction of the airport of Mineralnyje-Vody, located at a distance of about a hundred kilometers. A ceremony took place in a hangar of the airport, the coffins being covered with the flag of ICRC. A hundred people were present: the survivors of the drama, other delegates who were going to accompany the bodies to Geneva, but also all those which remained. By an icy cold and in the noise of the planes which land and take off, a last homage is paid to the six victims, then each one, in a slow procession, ravels in front of the coffins.

However, following the assassination of Buckingham, in December 1628, he became Viscount Wentworth and not long afterwards president of the Council of the North. In the speech delivered at York on taking office, he announced his intention, almost in the words of Francis Bacon, of doing his utmost to bind up the prerogative of the Crown and the liberties of the subject in indistinguishable union. "Whoever", he said, "ravels forth into questions the right of a king and of a people shall never be able to wrap them up again into the comeliness and order he found them". His tactics were the same as those he later practised in Ireland, leading to the accusation that he planned to centralise all power with the executive at the expense of the individual in defiance of constitutional liberties.
