The fair has hired the consultants Oppidan Education to help create workshops for children ages 4 to 14 as well as talks about the lives of artists including Leonardo da Vinci and Salvador Dalí.

Henry Blundell-Hollinshead-Blundell was born at Deysbrook, near Liverpool, on 24 January 1831, the eldest son of Richard Benson Blundell-Hollinshead- Blundell. He was educated at Eton College in Berkshire between 1843–1849. He was a skilled oarsman, rowing in the VIII in 1848 and 1849, and becoming Captain of the Boats in 1849. He was a member of the Field XI and of Eton's elite Oppidan Wall, captaining the latter team in 1848.

Corbet Stafford Woodall (6 April 1929 - 19 May 1982), was an English newsreader for the BBC. Born in Hampshire, he was educated as an Oppidan scholar at Eton College where he also excelled at sports. He worked in the 1950s for the New Zealand Broadcasting Corporation, before returning to Britain where he initially worked as a stage manager on outside broadcasts. He then became an announcer on the Home Service, moving to work on television in 1963.

He played in a single first-class match for Cambridge, against Yorkshire and was dismissed by England internationals in each innings: Wilfred Rhodes for 3 in the first and Major Booth for 6 in the second. He was a skilled Eton Wall Game player. During a St Andrew's Day match in 1907, he scored a goal for College against the Oppidans, an extraordinarily difficult feat. However, an Oppidan player claimed he had touched the ball before the goal was given, which according to the rule denies the goal.

Hook: The Adventures of a Notorious Youth, Captain Hook was the illegitimate son of a nobleman, "Lord B", and an unnamed woman Hook has never met (implied to be the Queen). Disowned by Lord B., James Matthew is reared by a Shakespearean actress he calls Aunt Emily, and unwillingly attends Eton College as an Oppidan scholar, where he is an avid reader of Shakespeare and Shelley, and his motto is "Knowledge is Power". He describes many things as first-rate – "Topping Swank", and punctuates his sentences with "The End".

Le Neve's mother died on 12 December 1687, when he was eight years old, and at the age of twelve he was sent to Eton College as an oppidan. His father died on 20 July 1693 when Le Neve was fourteen, and was buried in Westminster Abbey, as were both his wives. He succeeded to a small amount of property and became a ward of his kinsman (whose exact relationship to him has not been traced) Peter Le Neve (1661-1729), the herald and antiquary. Another of his guardians was his first cousin John Boughton, whose sister he married in 1699.
