Francis Gerald "Frank" Crapper (22 May 1911 – 8 February 1991) was an Australian rules footballer who played with North Melbourne in the Victorian Football League (VFL). Crapper was a prolific full-forward for Eaglehawk in the Bendigo Football League (BFL), who had two stints at North Melbourne. Two brothers, Fred and Harry, played briefly at Richmond and Melbourne respectively. Roach won the goalkicking award at Richmond on seven occasions; in 1980 kicked the highest individual season goal tally in Tiger history and became only the second Richmond full forward to kick over 100 goals in a season; and was the first Richmond player to win the VFL/AFL goalkicking award twice (Jack Riewoldt winning it for the second time in 2012). Richmond's best pre-war full forward, Jack Titus, led the goalkicking at Richmond on eleven occasions.

In 1929, the 18-year-old Farmer debuted in the North Adelaide League side. Playing at full-forward in his first season, he kicked an impressive 62 goals in only 14 games. In 1930 he became the first SANFL player to kick over 100 goals in a season, and repeated this feat for the next ten seasons. He played in the winning 1930 Grand Final side despite the great personal distress of his brother Elliot's death weeks earlier from a motorcycle crash that also involved Ken. In 1931 he kicked his 125th goal to break Gordon Coventry's VFL and elite football record of 124 in the Grand Final, which North Adelaide won.

The tapes malfunctioned during a performance in Newcastle, prompting Townshend to drag soundman Bob Pridden onstage, scream at him and kick over all the amplifiers, partially destroying the malfunctioning tapes. On 14 April 1974, Townshend played his first solo concert, a benefit to raise funds for a London community centre. A film version of Tommy was directed by Ken Russell, and starred Roger Daltrey in the title role, Ann- Margret as his mother, Oliver Reed as his step-father, with cameos by Tina Turner, Elton John, and other rock notables; the film premiered on 18 March 1975. Townshend was nominated for an Academy Award for scoring and adapting the music in the film.

Born in Bedford, Ames began his career at Tottenham Hotspur in 1951 having arrived from now-defunct club Bedford Avenue. He failed to make a first-team appearance for Spurs between 1951 and 1955, and on the advice of the Tottenham first-team and England goalkeeper Ted Ditchburn, Colchester United manager Benny Fenton signed Ames up in 1955 following a short trial. Ames made his first-team and Football League debut on 20 August 1955 in a 0–0 away draw with Exeter City, where Ames announced his arrival by saving a penalty kick. Over the period of ten years, Ames would make 397 Football League appearances for Colchester and made 422 appearances in all competitions.

Foley scored twenty-eight points alone (two tries, three conversions, and four penalty goals) compared with England's thirteen. Australia ran out 13–33 winners at Twickenham, knocking England out of the World Cup and sending themselves and Wales through to the quarterfinals. On 10 October, he was once again instrumental in Australia's progression, scoring all 15 points against Wales, in a 15–6 victory and progressed to the quarterfinals having won Pool A. Foley's role against Scotland in the quarterfinals was critical, however, Foley's conversion rate was far from critical, having missed three of five conversions. In not winning the medal he became the only player in SANFL history to twice kick over 100 goals in a season and not be the league's leading goal kicker. He played in North's losing Grand Final teams in 1985 and 1986, losing both times to Glenelg. The 1986 season had started brilliantly for Dietrich, who was averaging 8 goals per game before injuring his knee in a night series game and missed most of the last half of the season (before the AFL the SANFL Grand Finalists from the previous season were invited to play in the VFL's Night Premiership). After having Arthroscopic surgery on his knee, he returned one game before the finals to take his place in the Roosters 1986 Grand Final team.

Japanese newspapers nominated Aboutrika to be one of the best players in 2006 FIFA Club World Cup in Japan, the last tournament in Aboutrika's great year. Al-Ahly was one of the African representatives, and the first team ever to be qualified two successive times to this championship, and the first African team to win a medal in that competition. In the opening match of the tournament against Auckland City FC of New Zealand on 10 Dec 2006, Aboutrika helped Al-Ahly to secure and book a semi-final date with Internacional of Brazil. Al Ahly won 2–0 easily, and Aboutrika capped a fine display by stroking a superbly flighted free-kick over the wall scoring the second goal for his team.

After the ensuing play-the- ball, it was passed out to Boyd on the left wing, who ran twenty metres to score untouched. The conversion by Thurston was successful, so Queensland led 16–0 with four minutes of the first half remaining, which were played out with no further points. Again in only the third minute of the half the Maroons had made it into New South Wales' half of the field where Lockyer put a high cross-field kick over to the posts for Slater, who wasn't able to catch it, but was able to tap it back, and Willie Tonga was there to ground the ball. In the semi-finals, Al Ahly faced Brazilian Internacional on 13 December 2006, and Aboutrika played a good game, but his accurate shot hit the Brazilian right-hand post to deprive his team from a deserved draw. Al Ahly lost the match 2–1, but proved a good efficiency, yet the ball refused to be netted in many available chances to score in Brazilian goalkeeper.'Match Report' Al Ahly faced Club América of Mexico, for the third place, and Aboutrika gave Al Ahly the lead with an amazing free-kick over the wall, ending the first half 1–0 for Al Ahly.

Alex starts spreading notes around the prison identifying Aydin; after Piper discovers her planting a note in the garden, she tells Alex to gather the notes so she is not implicated. At the end of the season, Alex and Piper attempt to burn the notes in a garbage can, but after they light up the notes, inmates participating in the riot kick over the garbage can, spreading the notes all over the floor, although the notes are not discovered due to the riot. In the fifth season, Alex and Piper help MCC executive Linda Ferguson avoid being taken hostage by the rioters by disguising her as a prisoner.

Hall's good form at the Bulldogs continued, with four and five goals in successive games helping him get back to his best form of his early years at the Sydney Swans. In 2010 Hall was tripped by Essendon defender and rival Dustin Fletcher in Round 10, costing Fletcher a one-match suspension. In Round 15 in 2010, he kicked six goals against Carlton and also suffered an ankle injury. He finished second on the 2010 Coleman Medal table with 73 goals in the home and away season, behind Richmond's Jack Riewoldt. He kicked his 700th goal against the Gold Coast Suns in Round 3, 2011 and in Round 17, 2011 against he became the first player to kick over 100 goals for three clubs when he kicked five goals.

Two minutes afterwards, the man of the match involved in everything was at the centre of controversy when the referee adjudged Daniele Dessena to have pushed him to the ground inside the box. The spot kick was awarded and Lazaros stepped up to provide the cool conversion and give his side a priceless win. On 16 May 2014, there was tension in the training campus at Bologna, a few days after the last challenge at the Olimpico against Lazio ending a disappointing season that led to relegation to Serie B. An entry of Cesare Natali's hard training on Lazaros Christodoulopoulos, sparked the reaction of the Greek midfielder.

Baggio was not fully fit for the final against Brazil at the Rose Bowl in Pasadena, California, after pulling his hamstring during the semi-final and playing with the aid of a painkiller injection. Despite being far less dominant than in previous matches, he still tested Brazilian goalkeeper Cláudio Taffarel and was able to set up a few chances for his teammates. The match ended 0–0 after extra time; he took Italy's last penalty in the resulting shootout, but he put the decisive spot-kick over the cross-bar, which meant the Brazilians won the title, resulting in one of the most upsetting moments in World Cup history, and a miss with which Baggio's career would frequently become associated. Baggio has described the infamous miss as the worst moment of his career, stating that it affected him for years.

However, she is pulled into the riot herself after discovering who Linda is by looking through her phone and then using it to film the inmates burning their peace offering.

Canterbury came into this match 1st equal on the Air New Zealand Cup points table while Taranaki came in 7th. Canterbury started off scoring early on with set piece move to set up wing-cum-fullback Sean Maitland, Stephen Brett converted and put Canterbury out to a 7–0 lead. Off a lineout mistake by Canterbury allowed Taranaki flanker John Willis to provide his team with the ball, Taranaki sped it wide and an overlap allowed wing Shayne Austin to score unopposed, Willie Ripai couldn't convert and let Canterbury have a 2-point lead 12 minutes in. A penalty kick by Willie Ripia gave Taranaki the lead, but immediately after, from the kick-off Canterbury scored a try, after recovering the ball a chip kick over the top that was chased by James Paterson allowed Tu Umaga-Marshall to score off the offload, Brett converted and put Canterburys lead to 14 points to 8.

The 1939 WANFL season was the 55th season of the various incarnations of the Western Australian National Football League. It is best known for West Perth's record losing streak of twenty-seven matches up to the fifteenth round, an ignominy equalled by Peel Thunder in their formative years but never actually beaten. The Cardinals finished with the worst record since Midland Junction lost all twelve games in 1917, and were the first WANFL team with only one victory for twelve seasons. In their only win, champion forward Ted Tyson became the first West Australian to kick over one thousand goals and he just failed to replicate his 1938 feat of leading the goalkicking for a bottom club. During his time at West, Luders became one of the most popular players at the club, especially with its fans. Luders was The Bloods' leading goalkicker from 1979 until 1984 with his supreme year coming in 1983 when he became the first West Adelaide player to ever kick over 100 goals in a season. He kicked 94 in 22 regular season games and with his 6th goal he kicked his historic 100th for the season in a 74 point win over reigning premiers in the Second Semi-final at Football Park. Two weeks later Luders kicked four goals in West Adelaide's 21.16 (142) to 16.12 (108) win over Sturt in the SANFL Grand Final to finish with 105 for the season, still the club record as of 2019. In front of 47,129 fans at Football Park, it was West Adelaide's first premiership since 1961 (both premierships were under the coaching of Neil Kerley).

With Kick over the statues Spencer’s intention was to re-establish a belief in youth tribes and style. Young Londoners were cast along the route of the August 2016 Notting Hill Carnival and against locations in Liverpool.

The Who first performed the song live at the opening date of a series of Lifehouse related concerts in the Young Vic theatre, London on 14 February 1971. It has subsequently been part of every Who concert since, often as the set closer and sometimes extended slightly to allow Townshend to smash his guitar or Moon to kick over his drumkit. The group performed live over the synthesizer part being played on a backing tape, which required Moon to wear headphones to hear a click track, allowing him to play in sync. It was the last track Moon played live in front of a paying audience on 21 October 1976 and the last song he ever played with the Who at Shepperton Studios on 25 May 1978, which was captured on the documentary film The Kids Are Alright. The song was part of the Who's set at Live Aid in 1985, Live 8 in 2005, T4 on the Beach in 2008 and Capital FM's Summertime Ball concert in 2009, 2010 and 2015 and the radio station's Jingle Bell Ball concerts in 2009 and 2015.

The years 1920-1929 can be considered as some of the most successful in the Club's history, with the Al team competing in the Finals every year, winning Premierships in 1920, 1921, 1922, 1926 and 1929, finishing runners-up twice and third three times. During this time the ‘B’ side also took Premierships in the Adelaide Students’ Association in 1920, 1922 and 1924. The 1922 season was the most successful during this period, with both the ‘A’ and ‘B’ sides winning Premierships, the Adelaide side defeating Melbourne in the Inter-Varsity match for only the second time ever, and H.G Prest winning the Naylor Medal. 1923 saw the formation of the Club's third side competing in the Students’ Grade and although it was not an immediate success, the future strength of the Club was assured. Other highlights in this period were the effort of W.R. James to be the first full forward to kick over one hundred goals in Amateur League (1927), the beginning of the Gunning Medal for the ‘A’ grade best and fairest (1927), the formation of the A2 grade in Amateur League (1928), and the Hone Medal awarded to C.B. Sangster in 1929.
