They expertly execute speed metal's core tenets—heavy metal, thrash, even They simply show up, plug in, and shred—echoing the loose, bare-bones approach of their forebears down to their song titles ("Night Slasher" is a particularly sick ripper), leather-clad aesthetic, reckless tempos, and vocalist Dimi's high-pitched squeals and unhinged laughter.
But whereas she made her name a decade ago thanks to the cacophony of ear-splitting shrieks and squeals that could be heard all around, and beyond, the 42 acres that make up the All England Club, Sousa had let his racket do the talking as he became the first Portuguese to reach the last 16 of a major.
This music is indeed spare, lacking centered keyboards or rhythm guitars; in their place is an echo chamber filled with pingponging plinks, bleeps, squiggles, honks, vocal loops, symphonic airhorns, simulated a cappella singers going doo-doo and dum-dum, and any number of abrasive electronic scratches; even the token ballad soars and aches over incongruously syncopated squeals.
As keen to draw on colorful trap beats as she is shattered dance music traditions, emo melodies, and straight up noise, she makes music that could be a mess, but somehow manages to be some of the most piercing pop music I've heard in a long time—all centered around the cybernetic squeaks and squeals of her own pitch-shifted vocals.
They were all valid questions, and I've learned the answers over time: Vaginas all taste different, there are SO many things you can do with your tongue, moans and squeals are a good indication that your partner is enjoying herself but when it doubt you can ask, and I definitely like it (but if you don't, then there's no shame in taking oral off the menu).
