When he returned from his journey, Klaatsch began teaching anatomy and anthropology at the University of Breslau. In 1912 he developed a course in topographic anatomy. During his time at Breslau, Oetteking described Klaatsch's other accomplishments: "Besides his professorship at the University, Klatsch held several honorary offices, academic and governmental, and his government honored him by bestowing upon him several orders." Klaatsch was an avid member of the yearly congress of anthropologists and anatomists, and he spoke at nearly every meeting.

A former Motorball player, Ed is Alita's manager and his racing team is named Esdoc Motors. In his prime, his blade techniques were as good as Jashugan's Maschine-Klatsch and they were rivals. However, both were severely injured in an accident, from which Ed had to resort to acceleration drug injections to stay competitive. His abuse of the drug resulted in a permanent condition called “Terminal Frost”, which forced him to retire from motorball and makes his hands shake uncontrollably at unpredictable times, although it can be controlled with medications.

The song evokes, through Sam Martin’s vocals, a non-reciprocal love that a man has for the woman of his dreams. According to Philipp Kressmann from Westdeutscher Rundfunk, "Rather Be Alone" is heading for the disco and has some brass vibes. He added that the combo "sounds much poppier than [Robin Schulz's] last tracks and reminds of cheerful tunes of Alle Farben or Felix Jaehn". German magazine Klatsch Tratsch noted that it has disco influences, with a new side, by the presence of "a whipping groove with funky brass, housy piano vibes and a vocal voice of Sam Martin".

He is also adept at focusing his chi, which enables him to concentrate a lot of power into even a normal civilian cyborg- body and defeat opponents in powered-up cyborg bodies. After Ed's retirement, no other Motorball player can match him in combat except for Alita and her Panzer-Kunst. Jashugan is so good that when he races, he must handicap himself by removing his right arm and face three-man challenge teams. His Motorball body has two grinders built into each arm capable of rotating at high speeds, which increases the deadliness of his Maschine-Klatsch as they can tear through cyborg-armor and dismember opposing players.

Jonathan Currinn had a mixed review for the visual on his own website, writing, "This music video is a typical video we've seen over and over again, only this has extra scenes you never expect to see in this type of video, so it's not all bad." He went on being positive towards a dance sequence of the clip, calling the dancers "professional", and acclaimed Stan's and Lionezz' appearances. While magazine Klatsch-Tratsch saw the music video as a "catchy beach-clip", French website Pure Charts called it "refreshing and sexy". The song was solely performed by Follow Your Instinct on German entertainment show ZDF Fernsehgarten on 5 May 2013.

Jashugan paid a high price for his brain reconstruction as a side effect has been the constant risk of death, and he has suffered an increasing series of spasmatic attacks that have caused his heart rate to flatline. He has recovered from these attacks on his own in the past, but during a race that is watched by Daisuke Ido, Shumira, Alita and Ed, he is forced to pit by one of these attacks, it takes Ido's intervention to save his life. The call letters were derived from William F Huffman Sr, owner of The Wisconsin Rapids Daily Tribune, which began broadcasting November 1, 1940. with a day & nighttime power of 250 watts, initially on 1310 kHz, moving to 1340 Khz in March 1941, remaining at that position until late 1959, when the move to the current frequency took place, increasing daytime power to 5,000 watts. Over the years, WFHR's programming emphasis has been on Local News, Sports & Information, including the long- running "Kaffee Klatsch" morning call-in program, hosted by Arnie Strope and the Michaels and Morgan Show hosted by JD Michaels and Gary Morgan. Up until the mid 90s, WFHR's programming also included various music formats; from block programming in the '60s (mostly standards during the day, pop at night), to MOR/Adult Contemporary in the 1970s and early 1980s, along with several variations of Nostalgia and Oldies in the 1980s and early 1990s, using the programming services of Drake-Chenault and later TM Century.
