Astronomers characterize the morphology of a globular cluster by means of standard radii. These are the core radius (rc), the half-light radius (rh), and the tidal (or Jacobi) radius (rt). The overall luminosity of the cluster steadily decreases with distance from the core, and the core radius is the distance at which the apparent surface luminosity has dropped by half. A comparable quantity is the half-light radius, or the distance from the core within which half the total luminosity from the cluster is received.

He went on to form Lotus Crush with Candlebox members Peter Klett and Scott Mercado and MIGGS member John Luzzi in 2009. Lotus Crush released its debut record Half Light Morning on 3 March 2011. On 1 August 2012, it was announced that Terry McDermott had auditioned for Season 3 of the NBC television show The Voice becoming part of Team Blake.
The cover of Criminal Minded was a further reflection of a move towards this sort of radical image, depicting the group in a half-light, holding firearms.Coleman, p. 88 The next album By All Means Necessary (1988) left that element behind for political radicalism following the murder of Scott La Rock, with its title and cover alluding to Malcolm X. KRS-One became involved with the Stop the Violence Movement at this time. Boogie Down Productions, along with Run-D.
The song explores the mystical musings of Annie Dillard found in her Pulitzer prize-winning book, Pilgrim at Tinker Creek. The album is also heavily inspired by the works of Czesław Miłosz. This is especially evident in songs like "The Unattainable Earth" (which was named after one of Miłosz' books), "Safety Net", "Pictures of the Gone World", "Divine Instant", and "Half Light, Epoch, and Phase". On Taylor's 1998 release, John Wayne, he credits more influences; Flannery O'Connor, Dennis Prager and Frederick Buechner.
A large population of about 50 ultra-compact dwarf galaxies (UDCs) have been detected in the Hydra Cluster, with most of them being dynamically associated to NGC 3311. It appears that the ultra-compact dwarf galaxies, especially the brighter and more massive ones such as HUCD1 with a mass of 5 and a half-light radius of are the remnant nuclei of dwarf galaxies whose stellar envelopes were stripped off during an interaction with another galaxy or the cluster itself.
Hercules, or Her, is a dwarf spheroidal galaxy situated in the Hercules constellation and discovered in 2006 in data obtained by the Sloan Digital Sky Survey. The galaxy is located at a distance of about 140 kpc from the Sun and moves away from the Sun with a velocity of about 45 km/s. It is classified as a dwarf spheroidal galaxy (dSph). It has a noticeably elongated (ratio of axes ~ 3:1) shape with a half-light radius of about 350 pc.
Messier 53 (also known as M53 or NGC 5024) is a globular cluster in the Coma Berenices constellation. It was discovered by Johann Elert Bode in 1775. M53 is one of the more outlying globular clusters, being about light-years away from the Galactic Center, and almost the same distance (about ) from the Solar system. The cluster has a core radius (rc) of 2.18 pc, a half-light radius (rh) of 5.84 pc, and a tidal radius (rtr) of 239.9 pc.
2002: Die Another Day was filmed at Holywell Bay and Penrhyn Beach directed by Lee Tamahori. 2006: Half Light, starring Demi Moore and directed by Craig Rosenberg, is set in Scotland but was shot on location in Wales. 2003: Lara Croft Tomb Raider: The Cradle of Life, starring Angelina Jolie as Lara Croft, was shot on location in the mountains of Snowdonia but set in China. 2003: I Capture the Castle was filmed at Manobier Castle, Tenby directed by Tim Fywell.

The forewings are white with the dorsal half light fuscous and a moderate straight darker fuscous streak above the middle from the base to the apex. The hindwings are whitish-fuscous, more whitish towards the base, more or less suffused with darker fuscous towards the apex. The larvae feed on Banksia serrata, Banksia aemula, Banksia paludosa, Banksia integrifolia and Lambertia formosa. They bore in the stem of their host plant and tie cut leaves at the entrance to the bore.
While realizing the importance of the communication of negative information, the Air Service spared no effort to gather as much positive data as the situation permitted. The morning and evening reconnaissances were particularly effective in locating in the half light the flashes of enemy batteries in action. No source was more fertile than the Air Service in information regarding the situation of hostile batteries. A ruse, developed in the 88th Squadron, for trapping enemy guns into exposing their locations is worth noting.
The fighting was at close range in the thick undergrowth and at one point a company of the 2/5th Duke of Wellington's Regiment was surrounded and the survivors had to cut their way out, but by nightfall the area had been cleared in what the West Riding historian described as a 'gallant little enterprise'. On 28 July 1/5th Devons supported 2/8th West Yorkshires in 'a particularly brilliant assault on the Montagne de Bligny'. It started at 04.00 in dawn half-light and mist.
The metallicity of the cluster is [Fe/H] = −1.50, indicating a lower abundance of elements with mass greater that helium compared to the Sun. The combined mass of the main sequence stars in the cluster is , and the combined mass of observed stars within the half-light radius is . (This is the inner radius of the cluster that emits half the total luminosity.) These mass estimates provide lower bounds for determining the total mass of the cluster. The median radial velocity of stars within the cluster is .
The band agreed not to continue under the Paperdots name when Jonathan decided to leave. There was short period of transition for the band called "Sunday Town", formed by the rest of members when they got back to studio and recorded several demos together. Some of them then come into the first EP of High Hazels: In the Half Light. In 2012, Paul Barlow-elder brother of Drummer Anthony brings new life to the band when he finally decide to join in as bass guitar.
Tazio Nuvolari won the 1930 Mille Miglia in an Alfa Romeo 6C. Having started after his teammate and rival Achille Varzi, Nuvolari was leading the race but was still behind Varzi (holder of provisional second position) on the road. In the dim half-light of early dawn, Nuvolari tailed Varzi with his headlights off, thereby not being visible in the latter's rear-view mirrors. He then overtook Varzi on the straight roads approaching the finish at Brescia, by pulling alongside and flicking his headlights on.
The verandah originally ran across the rear of the building but has subsequently been enclosed when the rear of the building was extended. Several other stages of additions are evident. The principal facade is asymmetric about the main entrance and retains the original entrance doors and half light above and an extended masonry pediment over supported by round columns with Doric capitals. Two round headed double hung windows are located on the east side of the main entrance and are framed by piers with moulded capitals.
Polly Frame (born in 1976) is a Scottish actress who was born in Edinburgh, Scotland and is best known to children as Pinky Pinkerton, the hyperactive sports announcer on Disney Channel's pre-school television series Bunnytown. She moved to Galashiels as a child, then to London after spending a year backpacking through India. Among her TV shows and films are Meet the Magoons and Half Light. A graduate of Bristol University and its Old Vic Theatre, Frame appeared in a modernized version of William Shakespeare's Macbeth.
Goff & Patty also began recording and performing with a group called Half Light Music in '09. Aaron Schossau went off to start a new project titled "Stolen" with local musician Chad Dickinson, however, the group disbanded shortly after their development. Schossau was playing drums and writing material for a Downriver Michigan pop rock band titled "The Koy," but later abandoned the project in order to pursue other goals. Jordan Barnett started a band called the Supernovas and went on to record the "pearl sessions", a short demo of the bands "rockier" songs.
They saw "something that had two small feet like those of a human being." They were frightened and called the accused, who apparently thought the object was a "tikoloshe," an evil spirit that, according to a widespread superstitious belief, occasionally took the form of a little old man with small feet. According to this belief, it would be fatal to look the "tikoloshe" in the face. The accused went to fetch a hatchet and, in the half-light, struck the form a number of times with the hatchet.
Gaia 1 is an open cluster of stars discovered in 2017 by astronomers using data from the Gaia Space Observatory. It is a high-mass and bright cluster, but remained unseen in prior astronomy due to veiling glare in ordinary telescopes overwhelmed by the star Sirius, which lies 10 arcmins west. Its half-light radius is about , assuming a distance of , and it has an estimated mass of about . The Gaia 1 cluster was detected by researchers applying automated "star gauging" to the Gaia observatory's data on star locations.
There is a kitchenette in one corner, partly concealed by a burlap-covered partition, and a small hallway leads to the entrance door. In addition, "There is a large skylight in the middle of the ceiling which sheds the glow from the lights of the city down in a sort of faint half-light." Artists who arrived between 1911 and 1915 included Glenn Coleman, Henry Glittenkamp, Stuart Davis, Thomas Hart Benton, Raeburn Van Buren, Ralph Barton, and Neysa McMein. Benton, Van Buren, and Barton shared their room with the actor, William Powell.
Architects' contributed "We're All Alone" and "Broken Clocks", and Dead Swans contributed "In the Half Light" and "Swallow". The song "We're All Alone" was later worked into "Hollow Crown". Architects said that they wanted to release the album in an effort to show people they were still progressing their style. The EP was well received by British music press with review scores of 7/10 from Metal Hammer, 8/10 from Rock Sound, A 7.5 was given by Terrorizer for Architects' side of the EP and four "K"s out of 5 from Kerrang!.
This band performed with Live vocalist Ed Kowalczyk at the 2009 Layne Staley Tribute Concert. As of 2012, Snyder is still with The Crying Spell, which has put out a second album Disgraceland, whilst Bacolas has left and joined another band called Lotus Crush, which put out an album in 2011 called Half Light Morning. In 2009, Travis Bracht formed another band called Post Modern Heroes along with almost every other member of his first band Peace and Silence, releasing their debut album Post Modern Heroes a year later.
McDermott reunited with Lotus Crush in the summer of 2014, signing with Cavigold Records, a Seattle independent record label. Lotus Crush's sophomore record "Rabbit Hole" recorded at Robert Lang Studios in Seattle and a follow up to 2011's "Half Light Morning" is scheduled for a March 2015 release. The music video for the album's first single "Hearts And Minds" features actor C. Thomas Howell (Red Dawn, Soul Man, The Outsiders, E.T, The Hitcher) as the narratives villain. Hearts And Minds is expected to be released in January 2015.
Against the backdrop of a lavishly decorated palace inspired by the Alhambra Salome stands out in an array of bejeweled veils, her body facing the viewer, her left arm pointing up in the air to John the Baptist's hovering head, enclosed by a halo. At the back in the half-light stands the executioner with his sword, at his feet the silver charger. Seated in ascending position on Salome's side are a lutanist, Herodias and Herod Antipas. They face the foreground events seemingly lit by John's halo and its reflections on Salome's costume.
This is typically larger than the core radius. The half-light radius includes stars in the outer part of the cluster that happen to lie along the line of sight, so theorists will also use the half-mass radius (rm)—the radius from the core that contains half the total mass of the cluster. When the half-mass radius of a cluster is small relative to the overall size, it has a dense core. An example of this is Messier 3 (M3), which has an overall visible dimension of about 18 arc minutes, but a half-mass radius of only 1.12 arc minutes.
Almost all globular clusters have a half-light radius of less than 10 pc, although there are well- established globular clusters with very large radii (i.e. NGC 2419 (Rh = 18 pc) and Palomar 14 (Rh = 25 pc)). Finally the tidal radius, or Hill sphere, is the distance from the center of the globular cluster at which the external gravitation of the galaxy has more influence over the stars in the cluster than does the cluster itself. This is the distance at which the individual stars belonging to a cluster can be separated away by the galaxy.
Often the plot of an initial portion of an episode resembles a recognizable aspect of an actual case. In early seasons, the details of these cases often closely followed the real stories, such as the season one episode "Subterranean Homeboy Blues", which had a woman shooting two attempted muggers, paralleling the Bernhard Goetz case. Another early episode, "Out of the Half-Light", focused on a racially charged rape case that mimicked the Tawana Brawley case. This "ripped from the headlines" style is reflected in the opening credits sequence that evolves from newspaper halftones to high-resolution photos.
The band has notable relations to fellow Auckland, New Zealand band Decortica of which past member Tory Staples is now a member of. Furthermore, Daniel Bosher, a past member of Decortica and brother of their frontman Mathew Bosher, joined Battle Circus in their later years. The two bands performed and toured together for several years, becoming two of the most prominent acts amongst the area's progressive rock scene Following the release of a series of singles, the band released their debut EP, The Half-Light Symphony. The release received local acclaim by NZ Musician and a five star review by Real Groove Magazine.
The Antlia Dwarf is classified alternatively as a dwarf elliptical galaxy of type dE3.5, or either as a dwarf spheroidal galaxy (dSph) or as a transitional galaxy from spheroidal to irregular types (dSph/Irr). The last classification is due to a substantial star formation in this galaxy in the last 0.1 billion years. Antlia Dwarf comprises two components: a core and an old halo. Its half-light radius is about 0.25 kpc. The metallicity is very low, at about <[Fe/H]>=−1.6 to −1.9 meaning that Antlia Dwarf contains 40–80 times less heavy elements than the Sun.
The Orientalist style is largely characterized by its content, but also by its subdued realism and precision allotted towards depicting the human form. The latter is a prominent characteristic of the 19th century methods upheld by the Académie des Beaux-Arts. Jean-Jules-Antoine was a prominent figure within the sphere of academic art and thereby adhered to a rule-based artistic style of well-developed skill and formal composition. The artistic composition of Lecomte du Nouy's paintings was often complemented by the use of half-light, which added certain dramatic and melancholic qualities to his work.
Segue 1 is a dwarf spheroidal galaxy or globular cluster situated in the Leo constellation and discovered in 2006 by Sloan Digital Sky Survey. It is located at a distance of about 23 kpc (about 75,000 light years) from the Sun and moves away from the Sun with the velocity of about 206 km/s. Segue 1 has a noticeably elongated (ratio of axes ~ 2:1) shape with the half-light radius of about 30 pc. This elongation may be caused by the tidal forces acting from the Milky Way galaxy if Segue 1 is being tidally disrupted now.
Three players tied on 149 played a 6-hole playoff to determine the final two qualifiers. Charles Johns qualified with 22 but Alfred Miles and Fred Holden were still tied for the remaining place. They were still tied after three more holes and then again after a further six before finally in the half-light Holden qualified in a sudden-death playoff. In very poor conditions Archie Compston beat Charles Whitcombe in the final, winning at the 18th hole. Compston and Charles Whitcombe were paired together in the 1929 Ryder Cup and both undefeated in the contest.
In 2009, he formed yet another rock and alternative pop band called Lotus Crush with Candlebox members Peter Klett and Scott Mercado (who met McDermott when Driveblind supported Candlebox in 2006) MIGGS member John Luzzi, and Second Coming bassist, Johnny Bacolas. Based in Seattle, Lotus Crush released its debut album Half Light Morning released on Fontana on 3 March 2011, appearing at the SXSW music festival in Austin, Texas the following month. He has also been part of a formation called Northsouth with Afghan Whigs guitarist Dave Rosser. McDermott takes part in vocals, guitar and production.
Scott spent much time calculating sledging rations and weights for the forthcoming polar march. The routine included regular lectures on a wide range of subjects: Ponting on Japan, Wilson on sketching, Oates on horse management and geologist Frank Debenham on volcanoes. To ensure that physical fitness was maintained there were frequent games of football in the half-light outside the hut; Scott recorded that "Atkinson is by far the best player, but Hooper, P.O. Evans and Crean are also quite good." The South Polar Times, which had been produced by Shackleton during the Discovery Expedition, was resurrected under Cherry-Garrard's editorship.
With the same blank dispassion of a film such as The > Hurt Locker it creates an alien landscape in which McGregor's six dancers, > in Lucy Carter's half-light, grapple with the choreography of conflict. This > sophisticated tapestry of movement is staggeringly beautiful, its pensive, > slightly mournful mood engrossing. It is dance for people who like to think > as well as feel, both abstract and real. : – Sarah Crompton, The TelegraphCrompton 2011 > The contrast between Gerrard's film event and Tippett's gentle pastorale is > brutal in its irony, but McGregor's neo-balletic vocabulary, with its > anguished grapplings and cradlings, unites the two.
In its review of The Call of the Wolves, Booklist wrote "The taut story line, compelling illustrations, and recently renewed interest in wolves make this fictionalized account valuable." and the School Library Journal wrote "The exquisite ice-blue pages portray the majestic arctic wilderness in a wintry, snowy, half-light. Weatherby's animals spring to life, and he adeptly captures the movement, the stillness, the danger, and the calm of the text. Like Yoshida's Young Lions (Philomel, 1989), this should help generate appreciation for animals in the wild, and is also concerned with issues of separation and connection." Kirkus Reviews calls it "a realistic story".
For instance, certain songs, such as "Wires" and "Half Light", were played up to 10 times a day on larger UK radio stations, yet other singles such as "Westside" and "Tourist" received little radio play. Tourist had a mixed critical reception, with some suggesting that Athlete had failed to sustain the unique style of their previous album, while others saw the new album as a logical progression from their old sound. Allmusic wrote that "Its art direction is a winning tribute to the striking cover art of Britpop past, but musically, Tourist settles for complacent." The supporting tour took place between 2005 and mid-2006.
Both groups advanced again at and drove back British troops from the eastern edge, took and prevented the troops still in the wood from being outflanked. The main German body in the wood occupied posts along Central Trench, from where the British troops were not seen in the half-light, until from the wood. Machine-gun fire from the strong point at Trônes Alley, mistakenly thought by the British to have been captured, diverted the British to the east. Many of the German posts of Company were overrun and others caught in the worst barrage the troops had experienced, many of the survivors retiring to Guillemont.
Willman 1 has an elliptical shape with the half- light radius of about 25 pc. Its heliocentric velocity is approximately −13 km/s. As of 2007, it was declared the least massive galaxy known, opening up a new category of ultra-low-mass galaxies, lower than the then-theoretical minimum of 10 million solar masses thought to be needed to form a galaxy.New Scientist, "Smallest galaxy hints at hidden population", David Shiga, 4 June 2007 (accessed 12 June 2013) As of 2016, it is the third dimmest likely galaxy known, after Segue 1 and Virgo I, and is less than one ten millionth the Milky Way's luminosity.
Segue 2 is a dwarf spheroidal galaxy situated in the constellation Aries and discovered in 2009 in the data obtained by Sloan Digital Sky Survey. The galaxy is located at the distance of about 35 kpcs (35,000 parsecs (110,000 ly)) from the Sun and moves towards the Sun with a speed of 40 km/s. It is classified as a dwarf spheroidal galaxy (dSph) meaning that it has an approximately round shape with a half-light radius of about 34 pc. The name is due to the fact that it was found by the SEGUE program, the Sloan Extension for Galactic Understanding and Exploration.
The ship makes the four and a half light-year journey to the star Alpha Centauri in a span of 15 days using the faster-than-light overdrive. The fourth planet orbiting Alpha C, an earth-like planet inhabited by dinosaurs, has been colonized 125 years earlier. Cadet Stark, who has been taught to obey orders and to trust the infallibility of Earth and the Space Patrol, arrives at planet IV of Alpha C just as the colonists are voting to declare, and possibly fight for, their independence from Earth. The arrival of the Carden and its crew can potentially affect the course of events in this revolution.
Andromeda XXI (And 21, And XXI) is a moderately bright dwarf spheroidal galaxy about away from the Sun in the constellation Andromeda. It is the fourth largest Local Group dwarf spheroidal galaxy. This large satellite of the Andromeda Galaxy (M31) has a half-light radius of nearly 1 kpc.Nicolas F. Martin, Alan W. McConnachie, Mike Irwin, Lawrence M. Widrow, Annette M. N. Ferguson, Rodrigo A. In the trilogy, angels were originally the result of condensing Dust, although it seems that other conscious beings can also become angels. They appear as nude winged humans with a light of no apparent source shining on them, and, like the witches, appear to be both young and old at the same time. Angels are arranged in a hierarchy, according to their level of power, which also determines how luminous they are; the low ranking angels cannot be seen by the naked eye during the day, and are seen best at half light. The only way for humans to see them clearly is when they are enveloped in smoke.
She operated in support of the Gilbert Islands campaign from 15 November until 14 December and of the Marshall Islands campaign from 4 to 25 February 1944. From 17 to 22 May, Schuylkill operated with a task group which made strikes on Marcus Island and Wake Island. Next, the oiler participated in the conquest of the Marianas, fueling ships fighting for that strategic island group from 15 to 27 June, from 2 to 25 July, and from 3 to 12 August, before turning to the western Carolines. At 0434 on 10 September, while maneuvering in a hazy half-light, Schuylkill's bow struck her sister ship on her quarter.
Pisces II (Psc II) is a dwarf spheroidal galaxy situated in the Pisces constellation and discovered in 2010 in the data obtained by the Sloan Digital Sky Survey. The galaxy is located at the distance of about 180 kpc (kiloparsecs) from the Sun. It is classified as a dwarf spheroidal galaxy (dSph) meaning that it has an elongated shape with the half-light radius of about 60 pc and ratio of the axis of about 5:3. Pisces II is one of the smallest and faintest satellites of the Milky Way—its integrated luminosity is about 10,000 times that of the Sun (absolute magnitude of about −5), which corresponds to the luminosity of an average globular cluster.
Carollo's contribution to astronomy is in the fields of extragalactic astronomy and specifically galaxy formation and evolution. Her early work established the relation between the metallicity gradient and stellar mass in galactic spheroids, demonstrated the presence of dark matter halos beyond their half- light radii and was seminal in discovering and characterizing disk-like (pseudo) bulges and nuclear massive star clusters in disk galaxies like the Milky Way. Later she and her ETH group worked on the role of galactic environment and progenitor bias in galaxy evolution, the growth and "quenching" of massive galaxies at high redshifts, and participated in the discovery and characterization of the most distant galaxies in the universe, in the heart of the reionization epoch.
Leo IV is a dwarf spheroidal galaxy situated in the Leo constellation, discovered in 2006 in the data obtained by the Sloan Digital Sky Survey. The galaxy is located at the distance of about 160 kpc from the Sun and moves away from the Sun with the velocity of about 130 km/s. It is classified as a dwarf spheroidal galaxy (dSph) meaning that it has an approximately round shape with the half-light radius of about 130 pc. Leo IV is one of the smallest and faintest satellites of the Milky Way; its integrated luminosity is about times that of the Sun (absolute visible magnitude of ), which is much lower than the luminosity of a typical globular cluster.
He has also worked with Cheryl Cole as well, co-writing the title track for her third studio album A Million Lights. He had co-written the hit single "Magnetic Eyes" featuring Baby Blue with Matrix and Futurebound, which was A List at Radio 1 for 6 weeks. A year later, Tom continued his successful partnership with Matrix and Futurebound, writing their biggest track to date, "Control" featuring Max Marshall, which spent three weeks in the top 10 and has been a major UK airplay hit. Recently, he was a featured performer in the UK top 40 hit single "Half Light" by British musician Wilkinson, which reached number 25 in the UK Singles Chart.
Ursa Major II Dwarf (UMa II dSph) is a dwarf spheroidal galaxy situated in the Ursa Major constellation and discovered in 2006 in the data obtained by the Sloan Digital Sky Survey. The galaxy is located approximately 30 kpc from the Sun and moves towards the Sun with the velocity of about 116 km/s. It has an elliptical (ratio of axes ~ 2:1) shape with the half-light radius of about 140 pc. Ursa Major II is one of the smallest and faintest satellites of the Milky Way—its integrated luminosity is about 4000 times that of the Sun (absolute visible magnitude of about −4.2), which is much lower than the luminosity of the majority of globular clusters.
Leo V is a dwarf spheroidal galaxy situated in the Leo constellation and discovered in 2007 in the data obtained by the Sloan Digital Sky Survey. The galaxy is located at the distance of about 180 kpc from the Sun and moves away from the Sun with the velocity of about 173 km/s. It is classified as a dwarf spheroidal galaxy (dSph) meaning that it has an approximately spherical shape with the half-light radius of about 130 pc. Leo V is one of the smallest and faintest satellites of the Milky Way—its integrated luminosity is about 10,000 times that of the Sun (absolute visible magnitude of about ), which is much lower than the luminosity of a typical globular cluster.
To attack a convoy, a formation of 20 to 30 ships sailing in close formation at relatively slow speed, the commander of KG 26 Martin Harlinghausen and his units developed the (Golden Comb) anti- shipping tactic. The attack was planned for use in the half light period of dawn or dusk and would be in conjunction with a simultaneous dive bombing attack to divide opposing anti-aircraft fire. The tactic involved the forming line abreast, about forty aircraft flying approximately apart and approaching the convoy from a forward quarter, simultaneously to launch their torpedoes at a distance of then overfly the convoy and escape in the confusion. The tracks of up to eighty torpedoes heading towards the target was likened to the teeth of a comb.
Bootes II or Boo II is a dwarf spheroidal galaxy situated in the Bootes constellation and discovered in 2007 in the data obtained by Sloan Digital Sky Survey. The galaxy is located at the distance of about 42 kpc from the Sun and moves towards the Sun with the speed of 120 km/s. It is classified as a dwarf spheroidal galaxy (dSph) meaning that it has an approximately round shape with the half-light radius of about 51 pc. Bootes II is one of the smallest and faintest satellites of the Milky Way—its integrated luminosity is about 1,000 times that of the Sun (absolute visible magnitude of about −2.7), which is much lower than the luminosity of the majority of globular clusters.
The album was also released as a DVD-Audio disc on 10 May 2005 by DTS Entertainment. The disc contains 5.1-channel surround versions of all the tracks from the US CD ("Shesmovedon (2004)" was included as an unlisted extra track.) plus three bonus tracks: "Revenant," "Mother and Child Divided" and "Half-Light", bringing the total to 13 songs. One more song, "So Called Friend", was released on the "Lazarus" single, bringing it up to 14 songs. There is another song titled "Christenings": while it was never released as a Porcupine Tree song, it was eventually released on Steven Wilson's side project, Blackfield's 2007 album Blackfield II. An instrumental demo called "Collecting Space" made in 2003 during writing sessions for Deadwing, but never recorded by the band.
Whit is reunited with his long lost girlfriend Celia, who reveals that she's a half-light spirit that exists on an alternate dimension called the Shadowland. She teaches the two of them how to travel to and from Shadowland, through which they escape to a haven for persecuted children named Freeland. The siblings choose not to remain in the haven, as they wish to find their parents, and learn of a prophecy where they are Liberators mentioned in a prophecy about the end of the New Order. Wisty and Whit begin to plan to take down the regime and reluctantly accept help from Byron, a former classmate who had heavily taken part in their persecution and had been changed into a weasel by Wisty.
Coma Berenices or Com is a dwarf spheroidal galaxy situated in the Coma Berenices constellation and discovered in 2006 in data obtained by the Sloan Digital Sky Survey. The galaxy is located at the distance of about 44 kpc from the Sun and moves away from the Sun with the velocity of about 98 km/s. It is classified as a dwarf spheroidal galaxy (dSph) meaning that it has an elliptical (ratio of axes ~ 5:3) shape with the half-light radius of about 70 pc. Com is one of the smallest and faintest satellites of the Milky Way—its integrated luminosity is about times that of the Sun (absolute visible magnitude of about −4.1), which is much lower than the luminosity of the majority of globular clusters.

The galaxy is located at the distance of about 150 kpc from the Sun and moves towards the Sun with the velocity of about 130 km/s. It is classified as a dwarf spheroidal galaxy (dSph) meaning that it has an elliptical (ratio of axes ~ 2:1) shape with the half-light radius of about . CVn II is one of the smallest and faintest satellites of the Milky Way—its integrated luminosity is about 8,000 times that of the Sun (absolute visible magnitude of about −4.9), which is much lower than the luminosity of a typical globular cluster.
They come up with the idea of launching them to hit Earth at half-light speed, causing horrendous damage dwarfing that of nuclear weapons and possibly destroying Earth altogether or rendering it uninhabitable. The threat of so retaliating for a nuclear strike at Home effectively establishes an interstellar version of mutual assured destruction. Still, the situation remains fragile and precarious at the end, with not only The Race throwing their resources into the effort to achieve FTL flight but also the other human powers on Earth engaged on a similar effort. Members of The Race are especially worried about Germany, which had managed to recover from the terrible blows its war with The Race during the 1960s and, still ruled by the Nazis, would like to get revenge for that destruction.
This proposal was accepted and was punctually fulfilled, the painter's death alone preventing the execution of some of the ceiling- subjects. The whole sum paid for the scuola throughout was 2447 ducats. Disregarding some minor performances, the scuola and church contain fifty-two memorable paintings, which may be described as vast suggestive sketches, with the mastery, but not the deliberate precision, of finished pictures, and adapted for being looked at in a dusky half-light. Adam and Eve, the Visitation, the Adoration of the Magi, the Massacre of the Innocents, the Agony in the Garden, Christ before Pilate, Christ carrying His Cross, and (this alone having been marred by restoration) the Assumption of the Virgin are leading examples in the scuola; in the church, Christ curing the Paralytic.
The September 16, 1992, New York Press 'Best of' issue, named The Gargoyle Mechanique as the "Best 70's Performance Gallery," calling it, "not quite communist, it's not quite socialist, and it might be but it might not be exactly communal, and the only thing that stops it from being anarchist is that they have to pay rent." Harold Goldberg described the Gargoyle in his 1990 Village Voice article, "We shudder at the fiery blood-red walls, the Addams Family furniture, the phantom performers in the smoky half-light, the hooks, webs, and weeds hanging from the ceiling of this cabaret space. The Gargoyle is pure horror out of control." But in the same article it quotes Gargoyle co-directors describing the purpose of the space, "We like to stimulate brains," grins Steve (Jones).
He is the one who spies on the people up in the mountain and on Michelis and Manolios and reports it to Father Grigoris, one of the main villains. In the end a mob consisting of the villagers kill Manolios: “For an instant Manolios’s heart failed him, he turned to the door - it was closed; he looked at the three lit lamps and, under them, the icons loaded with ex-votos: Christ, red-cheeked, with carefully combed hair, was smiling; the Virgin Mary, bending over the child was taking no interest in what was happening under her eyes. Saint John the Baptist was preaching in the desert. He raised his eyes toward the vault of the church and made out in the half-light the face of the Almighty, bending pitilessly over mankind.
Roger Ebert of the Chicago Sun-Times gave the film four stars out of four and called it "clearly Mike Nichols' best film. It sets out to tell us certain things about these few characters and their sexual crucifixions, and it succeeds. It doesn't go for cheap or facile laughs, or inappropriate symbolism, or a phony kind of contemporary feeling ... Nicholson, who is possibly the most interesting new movie actor since James Dean, carries the film, and his scenes with Ann-Margret are masterfully played." Vincent Canby of The New York Times was also positive, calling it "a nearly ideal collaboration of directorial and writing talents" that was "not only very funny, but in a casual way—in the way of something observed in a half- light—more profound than much more ambitious films."Canby, Vincent (July 1, 1971).

They were left with two badly damaged ships, one with an active ZTT drive and the other without. With a difficult decision ahead, they decided to place 30 crewmembers in zero-tau and the Alchemist on the damaged Beezling, and send them to the nearest uninhabited star two and a half light-years away at sub-light speed (9% the speed of light due to the lack of a ZTT drive), what would be a 28-year journey. Mzu and others escaped via ZTT jump on the remaining ship with the intentions of rendezvousing with the Beezling upon its arrival in 28 years. Mzu finally reveals the location coordinates of the uninhabited star that the Beezling is now orbiting and Joshua and his crew race to the star with the intentions of intercepting and destroying the Alchemist.

Like Lemon Pipers' members Nave and Albaugh, Ehrmann was a member of the Kappa chapter of Delta Kappa Epsilon fraternity. Writing in Bubblegum is the Naked Truth, Gary Pig Gold commented: "It was the Pipers’ way with a tough-pop gem in the under-four-minute category which was most impressive by far: "Rainbow Tree", "Shoeshine Boy" and especially "Blueberry Blue" each sported a taut, musical sophistication worthy of The Move and, dare I say it, even the Magical Mystery Beatles." The band recorded a second album for Buddah, Jungle Marmalade, which again showed both sides of the band - another Leka/Pinz bubblegum song, "Jelly Jungle", (released as a single and peaking at No. 51 on Billboard and No. 30 on Cashbox in the US), a version of the Carole King/Gerry Goffin penned song "I Was Not Born to Follow," and an 11-minute, 43 second epic, "Dead End Street"/"Half Light".

The first verse is virtually the same as Colum's, but the remaining three verses are quite different: :My young love said to me, my mother won't mind :And my father won't slight you for your lack of kine :And she went away from me and this she did say: :It will not be long now till our wedding day. :She went away from me and she moved through the fair :Where hand-slapping dealers' loud shouts rent the air :The sunlight around her did sparkle and play :Saying it will not be long now till our wedding day. :When dew falls on meadow and moths fill the night :When glow of the greesagh on hearth throws half-light :I'll slip from the casement and we'll run away :And it will not be long love till our wedding day :According to promise at midnight he rose :But all that he found was the downloaded clothes :The sheets they lay empty 'twas plain for to see :And out of the window with another went she.

Dreamlike things in the dawn half-light, their small breasts gleaming, white plastic shining faints as old marble", as a reference to "All Is Full of Love".
