A lunar eclipse occurs when the Moon passes within Earth's umbra (shadow). As the eclipse begins, Earth's shadow first darkens the Moon slightly. Then, the shadow begins to "cover" part of the Moon, turning it a dark red-brown color (typically - the color can vary based on atmospheric conditions). The Moon appears to be reddish because of Rayleigh scattering (the same effect that causes sunsets to appear reddish) and the refraction of that light by Earth's atmosphere into its umbra.

A lunar eclipse lasts longer, taking several hours to complete, with totality itself usually averaging anywhere from about 30 minutes to over an hour. There are three types of lunar eclipses: penumbral, when the Moon crosses only the Earth's penumbra; partial, when the Moon crosses partially into the Earth's umbra; and total, when the Moon crosses entirely into the Earth's umbra. Total lunar eclipses pass through all three phases. Even during a total lunar eclipse, however, the Moon is not completely dark.
That Umbra was primarily poetry- and performance-oriented established a significant and classic characteristic of the movement's aesthetics. When Umbra split up, some members, led by Askia Touré and Al Haynes, moved to Harlem in late 1964 and formed the nationalist- oriented Uptown Writers Movement, which included poets Yusef Rahman, Keorapetse "Willie" Kgositsile from South Africa, and Larry Neal. Accompanied by young "New Music" musicians, they performed poetry all over Harlem. Members of this group joined LeRoi Jones in founding BARTS.

Umbra was one of the first post-civil rights Black literary groups to make an impact as radical in the sense of establishing their own voice distinct from, and sometimes at odds with, the prevailing white literary establishment. The attempt to merge a Black-oriented activist thrust with a primarily artistic orientation produced a classic split in Umbra between those who wanted to be activists and those who thought of themselves as primarily writers, though to some extent all members shared both views. Black writers have always had to face the issue of whether their work was primarily political or aesthetic. Moreover, Umbra itself had evolved out of similar circumstances: in 1960 a Black nationalist literary organization, On Guard for Freedom, had been founded on the Lower East Side by Calvin Hicks.

Care would have to be taken to ensure that the altitude of the centre of the sun was determined. This could be done by averaging the elevations of the upper and lower umbra in the shadow.
The main use of a shadow square is to measure the linear height of an object using its shadow. It does so by simulating the ratio between an object, generally a gnomon, and its shadow. If the sun's ray is between 0 degrees and 45 degrees the umbra versa (Vertical axis) is used, between 45 degrees and 90 degrees the umbra recta (Horizontal axis) is used and when the sun's ray is at 45 degrees its shadow falls exactly on the umbra media (y=x) It was used during the time of medieval astronomy to determine the height of, and to track the movement of celestial bodies such as the sun when more advanced measurement methods were not available. These methods can still be used today to determine the altitude, with reference to the horizon, of any visible celestial body.
This comparison of the Moon (within the southern part of Earth's shadow) during the penumbral lunar eclipse of January 1999 (left) and the Moon outside the shadow (right) shows this slight darkening. Earth's shadow can be divided into two distinctive parts: the umbra and penumbra. Earth totally occludes direct solar radiation within the umbra, the central region of the shadow. However, since the Sun's diameter appears about one-quarter of Earth's in the lunar sky, the planet only partially blocks direct sunlight within the penumbra, the outer portion of the shadow.

A partial lunar eclipse occurs when only a portion of the Moon enters Earth's umbra, while a total lunar eclipse occurs when the entire Moon enters the planet's umbra. The Moon's average orbital speed is about , or a little more than its diameter per hour, so totality may last up to nearly 107 minutes. Nevertheless, the total time between the first and the last contacts of the Moon's limb with Earth's shadow is much longer and could last up to four hours. The relative distance of the Moon from Earth at the time of an eclipse can affect the eclipse's duration.

Byrne eventually intended to reveal that the team's arch-enemy, Umbra, was actually Caroline Carson, the wife of Robert Carson (Doc Danger) who had perished in 1950 and been somehow resurrected and transformed afterward. This may explain why Doc Danger says as he readied himself to battle Umbra alone, "And, in the end, perhaps this was how it was always meant to be..." Umbra was never actually shown in any of the issues. A previously unpublished page on John Byrne's website — finished, colored and lettered -- shows two unidentified characters sneaking through a top security Xlerii holding facility to find the corpse of Calvin Carson in a morgue-like drawer after finding out that Captain Brewster had previously inspected the drawer. Four promotional pages published as the series premiered showed a battle between the original team (presumably circa 1970, as Doc Danger was still recognizably human but his cranium had visibly expanded in both height and girth) and aliens (not Xlerii, which is why Calvin did not know of Xlerii) aboard one of their spaceships.

Euprenolepis, Nylanderia, and Pseudolasius also have these deep and complete sutures and together form a clade with Paratrechina. Paratrechina species are very similar in appearance to those of Nylanderia, but may be distinguished by the placement of the compound eyes on the head. Nylanderia always have eyes placed to the anterior of the midline of the head, while the eyes of Paratrechina species (except Paratrechina umbra, which also has anteriorly placed eyes) are placed slightly posterior to the midline. Nylanderia are also known to always have six teeth on the masticatory margin of the mandible, while most Paratrechina species have five; exceptions being Paratrechina kohli, which has eight, and Paratrechina umbra, which has six.
Moreover, Umbra itself had evolved out of similar circumstances: in 1960 a Black nationalist literary organization, On Guard for Freedom, had been founded on the Lower East Side by Calvin Hicks. Its members included Nannie and Walter Bowe, Harold Cruse (who was then working on The Crisis of the Negro Intellectual, 1967), Tom Dent, Rosa Guy, Joe Johnson, LeRoi Jones, and Sarah E. Wright, and others. On Guard was active in a famous protest at the United Nations of the American- sponsored Bay of Pigs Cuban invasion and was active in support of the Congolese liberation leader Patrice Lumumba. From On Guard, Dent, Johnson, and Walcott along with Hernton, Henderson, and Touré established Umbra.

A lunar eclipse will have two geometric magnitudes: the umbral magnitude and the penumbral magnitude. If the three bodies are not aligned enough, the Moon does not reach into the Earth's umbra - it may still pass through the Earth's penumbra though, and such an eclipse is called a penumbral eclipse.

There is one thing that helps to fight against SHADOW: ingenious inventor Rob Simmons -- secretly a member of the Galactic Patrol -- creates six special robots who can use their unique powers to battle against the forces of Umbra. Together, these robots can unite to form a giant robot called Mighty Orbots, to fight for truth, justice and peace for all. Mighty Orbots is one of only a small number of Saturday morning cartoons to have a definite series finale: the final episode, "Invasion of the Shadow Star," ends with a sequence in which the SHADOW homeworld is destroyed and the arch- villain Umbra defeated "once and for all." This differs from most other animated series, where the villain always escaped to fight another day.

In a lunar eclipse, the Moon often passes through two regions of Earth's shadow: an outer penumbra, where direct sunlight is dimmed, and an inner umbra, where indirect and much dimmer sunlight refracted by Earth's atmosphere shines on the Moon, leaving a reddish color. This can be seen in different exposures of a partial lunar eclipse, for example here with exposures of 1/80, 2/5, and 2 seconds. The Moon does not completely darken as it passes through the umbra because of the refraction of sunlight by Earth's atmosphere into the shadow cone; if Earth had no atmosphere, the Moon would be completely dark during the eclipse. The reddish coloration arises because sunlight reaching the Moon must pass through a long and dense layer of Earth's atmosphere, where it is scattered.

There is strong evidence that the mariner's astrolabe was derived directly from the planispheric astrolabe, as the earliest examples retain some of the markings (e.g. umbra recta and umbra versa) of the prior device without having the same components.Daumas, Maurice, Scientific Instruments of the Seventeenth and Eighteenth Centuries and Their Makers, Portman Books, London 1989 The mariner's astrolabe would have replaced or complemented instruments such as the cross staff or quadrant as a navigator's instrument. The mariner's astrolabe was used until the middle or, at the latest, the end of the 17th century.
Difference between standard direct illumination without shadow umbra, and radiosity with shadow umbra The inclusion of radiosity calculations in the rendering process often lends an added element of realism to the finished scene, because of the way it mimics real-world phenomena. Consider a simple room scene. The image on the left was rendered with a typical direct illumination renderer. There are three types of lighting in this scene which have been specifically chosen and placed by the artist in an attempt to create realistic lighting: spot lighting with shadows (placed outside the window to create the light shining on the floor), ambient lighting (without which any part of the room not lit directly by a light source would be totally dark), and omnidirectional lighting without shadows (to reduce the flatness of the ambient lighting).

The last century that not all parts of the near side and the surrounding parts of the far side saw only as partial was the 18th century. On Earth, they are seen as total penumbral eclipses. The Moon passes a narrow path within the penumbra and outside the umbra. It can happen on the Earth's northern or southern penumbral edges.
This animated video explains the September 27th, 2015 supermoon lunar eclipse. A lunar eclipse occurs when the Moon passes within Earth's umbra (shadow). As the eclipse begins, Earth's shadow first darkens the Moon slightly. Then, the shadow begins to "cover" part of the Moon, turning it a dark red-brown color (typically – the color can vary based on atmospheric conditions).

The central mudminnow (Umbra limi) is a small fish in the family Umbridae of the order Esociformes. It is found in central and eastern North America in productive waters. It is fairly tolerant of low oxygen concentrations and, as a result, it is sometimes the only, or one of a very few, fish species present in waters susceptible to winter or summer kill.
Shoaling Behavior in the Central Mudminnow (Umbra limi). The American Midland Naturalist 158:226-232. The penumbra (from the Latin paene "almost, nearly") is the region in which only a portion of the light source is obscured by the occluding body. An observer in the penumbra experiences a partial eclipse. An alternative definition is that the penumbra is the region where some or all of the light source is obscured (i.e., the umbra is a subset of the penumbra).
The antumbra (from Latin ante, "before") is the region from which the occluding body appears entirely within the disc of the light source. An observer in this region experiences an annular eclipse, in which a bright ring is visible around the eclipsing body. If the observer moves closer to the light source, the apparent size of the occluding body increases until it causes a full umbra.

The latter were translated by Gerard of Cremona. Nairizi used the so-called umbra (versa), the equivalent to the tangent, as a genuine trigonometric line (but he was anticipated in this by al-Marwazi). He wrote a treatise on the spherical astrolabe, which is very elaborate and seems to be the best Persian work on the subject. It is divided into four books: #Historical and critical introduction.
Hoadley's "Rising Sun" sauce bottle pre-1910 The motto Ex umbra in lucem may mean "From darkness into light". If two penumbras overlap, the shadows appear to attract and merge. This is known as the shadow blister effect. The outlines of the shadow zones can be found by tracing the rays of light emitted by the outermost regions of the extended light source. The umbra region does not receive any direct light from any part of the light source, and is the darkest.

For a long time, the genus Plica was considered to include four species: two relatively widespread ones (Plica plica and Plica umbra) and two tepuis-associated species with narrow distributions (Plica lumaria and Plica pansticta). However, recent research has shown that Plica plica is a cryptic species complex, and four new species were described in 2013. The species count will likely increase as there are still several undescribed species.

The change and subsequent alterations to the game's content meant that many of Ferrari's character designs went unused, something he was openly frustrated about as he considered these unseen characters more visually striking than his surviving designs. Many of his surviving character designs were altered during later development, including those for Gentiana and Umbra. Ardyn and Aranea remained mostly unchanged. Another contributing artist was Yusaku Nakaaki, who helped design Cindy.

Innocent's successor, Honorius III, appointed Capocci as rector of the Duchy of Spoleto, and later of the areas of Assisi, Nocera Umbra and Gubbio. In 1231 he became cardinal protodeacon. In 1234 the new pope Gregory IX named Capocci rector of Tuscia (Tuscany), as well as capitano (commander) of the Papal troops. In the same year Luca Savelli, grandson of Honorius III, forced the pope to flee from Rome to Umbria.
On each side of this set is an acrobatic pyramid attached to their respective pilasters by a scroll. The lower central part includes two frowning Renaissance faces from which are the water spouts. The Latin inscription is inserted within a decorative rectangle in marble: :Fons scalet illustri virtutum nomine dictus: Qui sitit, has lymphas absque tomire bibat. Ante cavernoso de pumice degener ibat: Obstabant pigra limus et umbra mora.
Sciaena umbra juvenile It is a rather nocturnal fish but it can occasionally be found during the day among beds of sea grass and on rocky bottoms in the vicinity of caves or large crevices where it can shelter. This species is social and lives in small groups. It feeds off the small fishes and crustaceans. They are capable of creating sound using some muscles under their well developed swim bladder.
The 6th Infantry Division of the Philippine Army moved against the MILF forces in the Talayan-Shariff Aguak- Datu Piang area in Maguindanao and captured Camp Omar, its third largest camp located there. Camp Omar served as the headquarters of the 206th BIAF brigade under Ameril Umbra Kato and defended by 500 guerrillas. Camp Jabal Uhob, another MILF camp was also captured during the operation, which took two days.
Gamma of a central total eclipse. This illustrates solar eclipse gamma: The red line shows the least distance from the center of the Earth, in this case approximately 75% of radius of the Earth. Because the umbra passes north of the Earth's center, gamma in this example is +0.75. Gamma (denoted as γ) of an eclipse describes how centrally the shadow of the Moon or Earth strikes the other body.
In the 5th century AD a Bishopric of Plestia was established, which was suppressed in 560, its territory being reassigned to the Diocese of Camerino. In 950 it was restored as Diocese of Plestia, regaining its territory from the above bishopric of Camerino. In 1006 it was again suppressed, its territory now being divided between the then dioceses of Spoleto, Foligno and Nocera Umbra. No residential incumbents available.
On Guard went on to publish their own newspaper with Hicks as the editor. In typical male chauvinist fashion, Sarah E. Wright was by-passed and her contribution as founder ignored. Hicks was executive director of the Monroe Defense Committee in support of Robert F. Williams, and was active in the Fair Play for Cuba Committee. He was one of the founders of Umbra Magazine, with poet and writer Tom Dent.

In 2016, Walter Übelhart (an author of Baia Mare) published În umbra lui Shakespeare: Un roman istoric din Transilvania (published in English as In Shakespeare's Shadow: A novel from Transylvania), a multilingual alternate history novel with Banfi Hunyades as the protagonist. The novel speculatively characterises Banfi Hunyades as a contemporary and friend of William Shakespeare, who offered Shakespeare advice but preferred to stay in the shadows of history.
There, she became harder and colder than ever in lieu of breaking down completely and showing the fear that now guided her, while the voices of her ancestors from the shadow became faint and hard to understand. Then Saturn Girl tried to telepathically calm her, and it all went wrong - a telepathic matrix over a whole planet interfered with her powers, and the result left Saturn Girl in a coma, a shadow-creature fueled by Umbra and Saturn Girl's combined pain and fear loose on the ship - and an Umbra completely without pain or anxiety, leaving only anger and arrogant self-confidence. She went down to the planet, where she began to fight Singularity (a Superman-like being), for whom the telepathic illusion which had caused the trouble was being maintained (to keep him from causing trouble on his race's real planet). When Ultra Boy and Monstress went down to get her, she began to fight them too.
He was born apparently in Matelica. Little is known of his biography. He was influenced or trained with Luca Signorelli. Some of his works were collaborations with Venanzio da Camerino, including altarpieces including the altarpiece of St Anne in San Menardo of Arcevia, or the fresco depicting the Assumption of the Virgin in the Sanctuary of Santa Maria delle Macchie in Gagliole, and others in the church of San Francesco in Nocera Umbra.
He likely trained under the painter from Foligno, Bartolomeo di Tommaso, and Girolamo di Giovanni di Camerino. He was influenced by Piero della Francesca, Andrea Mantegna, and Niccolò di Liberatore. In 1462, he painted the polyptych of Santa Margherita; and in 1471, a tryptych: both now in the Rocca Flea Museo Civico. He painted an Encounter of a young St John the Baptist with St Anne now found at the Pinacoteca of Nocera Umbra.
Bottom- dwelling species, which have the tendency to remain immobile until a predator is very close, are susceptible to North American river otters. These include mudminnows (Umbra limi) and sculpins (Cottus spp.). Game fish, such as trout (Salmonidae) and pike (Esocidae), are not a significant component of their diets. They are less likely to be prey for the North American river otters since they are fast-swimming and can find good escape cover.
Marco Battista Battaglini was born on 25 Mar 1646 in Rimini, Italy. He studied law at Cesena, both civil and ecclesiastical, and at the age of sixteen he obtained the degree of Doctor of Civil and Canon Law. After some years of service in the civil administration of the Papal States, he entered the priesthood. On 17 Apr 1690, he was appointed during the papacy of Pope Alexander VIII as Bishop of Nocera Umbra.
Years later, Eugenio Pacelli, one of Marcantonio's grandsons was elected to the papacy as Pope Pius XII. The Caterinis themselves traced their nobility to the Cattanei or Cattaneo family, specifically to Gualdo Cattaneo whose family were the Counts of Aversa in 1520. The name "Caterini" was taken due to the family's devotion to St. Catherine of Alexandria. Those with the surname Caterini later became part of the nobility of Nocera Umbra, Acquapendente and Onano.

This change was completed in 1996 with the album Mystica Sexualis, which was now gothic metal. During live shows, the band would have fetish models on stage, founding their current stage concept. The 1997 maxi single Kein Gott und keine Liebe saw an increase in Neue Deutsche Härte elements and Umbra et Imago were compared to bands such as Rammstein. In 2003, guitarist Freddy Stürze left the band but joined them in 2011 again.
The church, dating largely from the 15th century, replaced a Saxon church on the same site. It has two 18th-century sundials, one inscribed in Latin Lux Umbra Dei: "Light [is] the shadow of God." The Renaissance playwright and poet Ulpian Fulwell was Rector of Naunton from about 1570 until his death in about 1586, but seems to have neglected his clerical duties. An episcopal visitation in 1572 concluded that the church building was decaying.
The village green, on which Wavertree's lock-up was built, is officially the only surviving piece of common land in Liverpool. Holy Trinity Church was built in 1794 and is situated on Church Road close to the famous Blue Coat School. Wavertree Town Hall was built in 1872 as the headquarters of the Wavertree Local Board of Health. The motto on the town hall is sub umbra floresco or "I flourish in the shade".
The Chiascio basin is relatively uninhabited as far as Bastia Umbra. About farther on, it joins the Tiber at Torgiano. The Topino, cleaving the Apennines with passes that the Via Flaminia and successor roads follow, makes a sharp turn at Foligno to flow NW for a few kilometres before joining the Chiascio below Bettona. The third river is the Nera, flowing into the Tiber further south, at Terni; its valley is called the Valnerina.
Henderson became active in the many Black nationalist, arts and anti-war movements, upon moving to the Lower East Side of New York. Along with other black writers, Henderson founded the Society of Umbra in 1962. Henderson worked with the National Endowment for the Humanities, the Free Southern Theatre in New Orleans, and the Teachers and Writers Collaborative at Columbia University. He was poet-in-resident and taught at City College of New York.
Eucalyptus psammitica was first formally described by the botanists Lawrence Alexander Sidney Johnson and Kenneth Hill in 1990 in the journal Telopea. Eucalyptus psammitica is part of the white mahogany group as recognised by Ken Hill. Others in the group include E. acmenoides, E. mediocris, E. carnea, E. apothalassica, E. helidonica, E. latisinensis and E. umbra. The specific epithet is from the Greek word psammos meaning sand in reference to its preferred habitat.
The effect on a lunar eclipse is quite similar, with a few differences. First, the eclipsed body is the Moon and the eclipsing 'body' is the Earth's shadow. Second, since the Earth's shadow at the Moon's distance always is considerably larger than the Moon, a lunar eclipse can never be annular but is always partial or total. Third, the Earth's shadow has two components: the dark umbra and the much brighter penumbra.
The pre-established harmony between Junius and his readers accounts for the rapidity of his success, and for the importance attributed to him by Burke and Johnson. Before 1772 there appeared at least twelve unauthorized republications of his letters, made by speculative printers. In that year he revised the collection titled Junius: Stat nominis umbra, with a dedication to the English people and a preface. Other independent editions followed in quick succession.
MILF camps Omar and Jabal Uhob, along with a cache of weapons and equipment, were captured by the government forces. The operation lasted two days, as opposed to the planned week-long effort. The quick defeat of the MILF forces under Ameril Umbra Kato reportedly prompted his demotion from field commander to a classroom instructor. Casualties were light on the government side; two dead as opposed to the MILF losses - 130 killed in action.
Comune di Ascoli Piceno In 1703, a violent earthquake occurred in the Marche but did not affect the city of Ascoli Piceno. The city's salvation was attributed to Emygdius and he was thenceforth invoked against earthquakes. As a result of this event, the church dedicated a church to the saint in 1717. Additionally, many towns appointed him as patron, erecting statues in his honor in the churches (L'Aquila, 1732; Cingoli, 1747; San Ginesio, 1751; and Nocera Umbra, 1751).
Some of his works were collaborations with Piergentile da Matelica, including altarpieces including the altarpiece of St Anne in San Menardo of Arcevia, or the fresco depicting the Assumption of the Virgin in the Sanctuary of Santa Maria delle Macchie in Gagliole, and others in the church of San Francesco in Nocera Umbra. They also collaborated on the Madonna and Child between Saints Peter and Paul in the Pinacoteca of Macerata.Pinacoteca Civica Bruno Molajoli , Macerata, official website, short biography.
In particular, when the Moon is near apogee, the farthest point from Earth in its orbit, its orbital speed is the slowest. The diameter of Earth's umbra does not decrease appreciably within the changes in the Moon's orbital distance. Thus, the concurrence of a totally eclipsed Moon near apogee will lengthen the duration of totality. A central lunar eclipse is a total lunar eclipse during which the Moon passes through the centre of Earth's shadow, contacting the antisolar point.
The word "parasol" (originally from French) is a combination of para, meaning to stop or to shield, and sol, meaning sun. "Parapluie" (French) similarly consists of para combined with pluie, which means rain (which in turn derives from pluvia, the Latin word for rain). Hence, a parasol shields from sunlight while a parapluie shields from rain. The word "umbrella" evolved from the Latin umbella (an umbel is a flat-topped rounded flower) or umbra, meaning shaded or shadow.
The city of Perugia has the Oreste Trotta Phonoteque, a collection of autographed recordings donated by many of the musicians who have performed in Perugia over the last 50 years. Perugia also hosts the autumnal Sagra Musicale Umbra, an annual music festival. Auditoriums include the Sala dei Notari, the Teatro della Sapienza, the Oratorio di Santa Cecilia and the Teatro Moriacchi. The town of Città di Castello, in the province, is the site of the Francesco Morlacchi music conservatory.
The Moon appears to be reddish because of Rayleigh scattering (the same effect that causes sunsets to appear reddish) and the refraction of that light by Earth's atmosphere into its umbra. The following simulation shows the approximate appearance of the Moon passing through Earth's shadow. The Moon's brightness is exaggerated within the umbral shadow. The northern portion of the Moon was closest to the center of the shadow, making it darkest, and most red in appearance.
Hernton was born in Chattanooga, Tennessee, United States, on April 28, 1932. He studied at Talladega College in Alabama, where he received a B.A. in sociology (1954), and at Fisk University, where he earned a master's degree. In the mid-1950s, he worked as a social worker in New York City. He also gave poetry readings there and co-founded the magazine Umbra, which published a collective of Black writers including Langston Hughes, Ishmael Reed and Alice Walker.
Earth's atmosphere would be visible as a reddish ring. During the Apollo 15 mission, an attempt was made to use the Lunar Roving Vehicle's TV camera to view such an eclipse, but the camera or its power source failed after the astronauts left for Earth. Terrestrial solar eclipses, on the other hand, would not be as spectacular for lunar observers because the Moon's umbra nearly tapers out at the Earth's surface. A blurry dark patch would be barely visible.

As indicated by the etymology of the name (from canna, rushes), it is a medieval town, recent by the standards of the region, since in earlier times the site was underwater in the Lacus Clitorius that covered much of the area between Bastia Umbra and Foligno, and was only drained in the Middle Ages. At any rate Cannara is first mentioned in 1170 as insula Cannaio -- "the island of Cannaio"; the lake had not been completely drained yet.
Three Indian Air Force planes were deployed with cameramen and scientists to examine the umbra. Separately, a pair of IAF MiG-25 fighters were fitted with equipment to photograph the outer solar corona and also the dust rings around it, in the darkest, clearest possible sky. However, he forfeited this path when he joined the United States Air Force, serving from 1956 to 1959. With his military service in his wake, he moved to New York City in order to study visual arts at the Art Students League from 1960 to 1962. This new path allowed him to pursue a career as an illustrator for Umbra Magazine. During this time Touré was introduced to several prominent poets, authors, and activist affiliated with the magazine.
On the death of Virginio Vespignani, the work was continued by his son Francesco and by the architect Costantino Sneider, his assistant, as is recorded in a stone by the entrance to the campanile. In 1915 it was declared a cathedral honoris causa by Pope Benedict XV in memory of the ancient diocese of Tadinum. AAS 7 (1915), p. 122. Since 1986 it has been a co-cathedral in the diocese of Assisi-Nocera Umbra-Gualdo Tadino.

The soils here are shallow, sandy and low in nutrients and overlie heavy clay. Drainage is therefore slow, the water table is consistently close to the surface, and marshes and bogs are common. These wetter areas are known as wallum, and are dominated by open sedgeland and Banksia heathland, which grade into patchy forests and woodland on the upper dune slopes and crests. Common forest and woodland trees are White Mahogany (Eucalyptus umbra), Pinkwood (Eucalyptus internmedia) and Broad leaved Paper-bark (Melaleuca quinquenervia).
The Hero Discovered follows Kevin Matchstick, an alienated young man who meets a wizard called Mirth and discovers that he, among other things, possesses both a magic baseball bat and superhuman abilities. In the course of the comic, he defeats the nefarious plans of a being called the Umbra Sprite. He ultimately discovers that Mirth is Merlin, the baseball bat is Excalibur, and he is, in some ambiguous way, King Arthur. All the chapter titles are lines from Shakespeare's Hamlet.
It was soon clear that FLI would leave the PdL and become an independent party. On 7 November, during a convention in Bastia Umbra, Fini asked Berlusconi to step down as Prime Minister and proposed a new government including the Union of the Centre (UdC). A few days later, the four FLI members in the government resigned. On 14 December FLI voted against Berlusconi in a vote of confidence in the Chamber of Deputies, a vote won by Berlusconi by 314 to 311.

Many rare species, such as the white-tailed eagle, little egret and purple heron, nest there. The whole Slovak-Hungarian part of the Danube is listed as an Important Bird Area. The Danube and surrounding bodies of water contain the highest number of species of fish in Slovakia. Rare and protected species include the wild form of the common carp, Umbra krameri (European mudminnow) from the order Esociformes, Pelecus cultratus from the family Cyprinidae, and Proterorhinus marmoratus (tubenose goby) from the goby family.
Solar eclipses are relatively brief events that can only be viewed in totality along a relatively narrow track. Under the most favorable circumstances, a total solar eclipse can last for 7 minutes, 31 seconds, and can be viewed along a track that is up to 250 km wide. However, the region where a partial eclipse can be observed is much larger. The Moon's umbra will advance eastward at a rate of 1,700 km/h, until it no longer intersects the Earth's surface.
Belize's musical base has expanded considerably in recent years with the addition of local reggae, reggaeton, punta, soca, dancehall, hip hop, rock, and metal acts. The latter genre includes bands like Death Suppressor Lasher Zombie, Verge of umbra, and Ascenthium. However, despite growing local scenes, modern music from other Caribbean nations (primarily Jamaican dancehall and Trinidadian soca ), as well as commercial pop music from the United States and United Kingdom still remain the most popular genres of music among young Belizeans.

Also found on the campus are two branches of the National Institutes of Health, the National Institute on Aging and the National Institute on Drug Abuse.
The eagle was the Eagle of Saint John the Evangelist, which Queen Isabella I of Castile used on an evangelist escutcheon to which she added the words sub umbra alarum tuarum protege nos (protect us under the shadow of your wings). The heraldry used by Franco was similar to that of the Catholic Monarchs, with the arms of Navarre replacing those of Aragon-Sicily, and with the addition of the Pillars of Hercules and the motto One, Great and Free.
In 1585 Velpius relocated again, to Brussels, in the wake of Alexander Farnese, Duke of Parma, by whom he was appointed printer to the court. He established his business in a bookshop called "Den gulden Arend" (The Golden Eagle), opposite of the Coudenberg palace. Here he designed a new printer's mark, a two-headed eagle charged with a crucifix, and the motto Sub umbra alarum tuarum protege nos (Protect us in the shadow of your wings). In 1586 he obtained townmanship of the city of Brussels.
The statements of his supposed death were later retracted as the manhunt continued. Von Al Haq, a spokesperson for the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF), claimed in 2013 that Zulkifli was being protected by Ameril Umbra Kato's Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters (BIFF). This claim was later corroborated by an interrogation with a detained Abu Sayyaf commander, Khair Mundos, who claimed that he travelled to the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters with Zulkifli. Local informants have also claimed Zulkifli to have visited the province of Maguindanao.
Pyrrhia cilisca is a moth of the family Noctuidae first described by Achille Guenée in 1852. Pyrrhia adela was placed as a synonym of Pyrrhia cilisca. Pyrrhia adela was introduced as the new scientific name for the North American population of moths which was formerly considered to be Pyrrhia umbra, hence both species have the common name bordered sallow, although adela was also referred to as the American bordered sallow. It is found in North America from Newfoundland west to Manitoba, South Carolina west to Texas.
Far later, the Blight enslaved most of Earth, including all but a few of the Legionnaires. Umbra was not among these escapees. When she was freed, she began to have a mental breakdown, prompted not only by the fact of her enslavement and what she'd been forced to do, but by the fact that the Blight's touching of her mind had meant that she'd enjoyed it. Shortly thereafter, she became one of the Legionnaires lost through a space rift and catapulted into another galaxy.
Umbra et Imago music band performs at WGT, 2014 The largest installment of the WGT was the one in the year 2000 with over 300 acts and an estimated 25,000 visitors. However, that year's festival suffered financial collapse on the third day and had to be aborted. After all festival security guards, most bands and much of the technical staff had left, volunteer helpers and several bands who played for free staged a final concert. Contrary to police expectations, no rioting of any sort occurred.
Mordru is released by a mining project on the Yuen asteroid controlled by a group of disgruntled Legion rejects. The new Legion consisting of Sensor, Umbra and Magno investigates unusual events on the asteroid. Mordru searches for his lost talismans which hold his power such as the Emerald Eye of Ekron. The owner of the Eye defends the relic until a Legion led alliance (including Mysa (who is now de-aged), the Workforce, and the Amazers) defeats Mordru and imprisons him in an airtight sphere.
If the Moon is too far away at the time of an eclipse, its umbra may not reach the Earth's surface, and only a partial eclipse will be visible. Before the advent of modern science, solar eclipses were often viewed with superstitious dread. However, eclipses are also of interest to science due to the various phenomena that can be observed when they occur. The corona is normally invisible due to the brightness of the solar disc, but becomes visible from Earth during a total eclipse.
Fish have been observed to be the most successful predator of the brook stickleback. Examples of these fish predators include: yellow perch (Perca flavescens), rock bass (Ambloplites rupestris), creek chub (Semotilus atromaculatus), burbot (Lota lota), central mudminnow (Umbra limi), smallmouth bass (Micropterus dolomieu), largemouth bass (Micropterus salmoides), northern pike (Esox lucius), brook trout (Salvelinus fontinalis), rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss) and round goby (Neogobius melanostomus). Brook stickleback eggs can be cannibalized, as well as consumed by rainbow trout (Oncorhynchus mykiss). Competition among the ninespine stickleback exists.
Contained within Umbria is the hamlet of Cospaia, which was a tiny republic from 1440 to 1826, created by accident. Umbria is crossed by two valleys: the Umbrian valley ("Valle Umbra"), stretching from Perugia to Spoleto, and the Tiber Valley ("Val Tiberina"), north and west of the first one, from Città di Castello to the border with Lazio. The Tiber River forms the approximate border with Lazio, although its source is just over the Tuscan border. The Tiber's three principal tributaries flow southward through Umbria.
For the recording line up, the band was joined by Raphaela Polterman for vocals, and Jean Schulze returned as a drummer. The album was produced by Mozart and Lutz Demmler of the German gothic and industrial metal band Umbra et Imago. The album's production was more expensive than on their previous works, and according to the band, Tribulation Force did not receive any marketing from the label. As a result, Necromance sold all their instruments to cover the costs and disbanded in April 2002.
Afterwards, she meets a lost child named Cereza, who believes Bayonetta to be her mother, following her. Returning to the human world, Bayonetta continues her search for the Right Eye, journeying to an island named Isla del Sol with Luka and Cereza. There Bayonetta is confronted again by Jeanne, who explains Bayonetta was a child born from an Umbra Witch and a Lumen Sage, a forbidden union. Bayonetta defeats Jeanne, who reveals the reason Bayonetta possesses the Left Eye is because she has accepted her fate.
A viewer located in the umbra region cannot directly see any part of the light source. By contrast, the penumbra is illuminated by some parts of the light source, giving it an intermediate level of light intensity. A viewer located in the penumbra region will see the light source, but it is partially blocked by the object casting the shadow. If there is more than one light source, there will be several shadows, with the overlapping parts darker, and various combinations of brightnesses or even colors.
During their escape, they encounter a giant beast called an Umbra, which Guillo has been mysteriously programmed to defeat. While trying to leave the city, they meet up with the third member of the party, a young woman named Milly. The three of them must work to clear Sagi's name while trying to uncover the nature of the threat caused by the maneuvering of Alfard's various power-hungry politicians, as they work under Alfard's Quaestor Verus. Verus runs against Baelheit in the upcoming election to replace Olgan.
Guided by Igniculus, she finds a sword that she uses to arm herself, and a chamber where the Lady of the Forest is imprisoned. Upon freeing the Lady, Aurora is told that her own world and Lemuria are connected by a mirror that was stolen by Umbra. To be able to use the mirror to go home, Aurora must recover Lemuria's light. The Lady gives Aurora advice of how to do this, a flute, and the stars which she had, granting Aurora the ability to fly.

Solar eclipses on Neptune occur when any of the natural satellites of Neptune pass in front of the Sun as seen from the planet. For bodies which appear smaller in angular diameter than the Sun, the proper term would be a transit and bodies which are larger than the apparent size of the Sun, the proper term would be an occultation. All of Neptune's inner moons and Triton can eclipse the Sun as seen from Neptune. All other satellites of Neptune are too small and/or too distant to produce an umbra.
A penumbral lunar eclipse occurs when the Moon passes through Earth's penumbra. The penumbra causes a subtle dimming of the lunar surface, which is only visible to the naked eye when about 70% of the Moon's diameter has immersed into Earth's penumbra. A special type of penumbral eclipse is a total penumbral lunar eclipse, during which the Moon lies exclusively within Earth's penumbra. Total penumbral eclipses are rare, and when these occur, the portion of the Moon closest to the umbra may appear slightly darker than the rest of the lunar disk.
A solar eclipse occurs in the daytime at new moon, when the Moon is between Earth and the Sun, while a lunar eclipse occurs at night at full moon, when Earth passes between the Sun and the Moon. The Moon does not completely darken as it passes through the umbra because Earth's atmosphere refracts sunlight into the shadow cone. There is often confusion between a solar eclipse and a lunar eclipse. While both involve interactions between the Sun, Earth, and the Moon, they are very different in their interactions.
By granting the title of "The Sword of Ashlianna" to a Kurudan citizen, that war was immediately averted, as no one desired to go against the Holy City's decree. Later on, however, it was revealed that on Diaz' death, his soul had been deliberately sealed by Darkness into his Black Eye until such time as Kai Shinks could restore his body. During Gau's battle with Ren Fuuma, the efforts of Kai, Darkness, and Lunaris Umbra finally bore fruit. Diaz came back as an angel to give his brother "a little push" to victory.
Scattered with small villages only, the mountains are mostly covered by forests and pastures, with the main produce being hams and caciocavallo cheese. Faetar, a francoproveçal dialect, is spoken in two villages: Faeto and Celle di San Vito. The Gargano is a peninsula partly mountainous and partly covered by a forest, Foresta Umbra with vegetation typical of Central Europe, the only lasting part in Italy of the ancient Black Forest. Allegedly its name comes from the word ombra (shadow) because of its thickness that prevents the light to enter in contrast with the typical flora.
Tribulation Force was produced by Lutz Demler and Mozart of the pioneering German gothic industrial metal and Neue Deutsche Härte group Umbra et Imago. According to Necromance's official MySpace, Tribulation Force was the band's most expensive album to record and produce, and after its release the album did not receive any promotion, marketing or advertising from the record label. Necromance has stated that even their early demos were better known than this album. The band ended up in financial difficulties and sold their equipment and instruments to pay the expenses.
In the same year, their album Träume, Sex und Tod was published, one year later Infantile Spiele was released. As their album tracks often exceeded lengths of 10 minutes, they were unsuited for play in discothèques and were not included to DJs' programs. Because of that, Umbra et Imago created a remix of their song "Erotica" which they called ZöllerMussEsSpielen Mix (Zöller Must Play It Mix), referring to Michael Zöller, a resident DJ of Bochum's Zwischenfall discothèque. Despite its length, "Gothic Erotic" from the 1993 album Infantile Spiele remained the band's best known song.
Planet X was first revealed in the 1965 film Invasion of Astro-Monster as a mysterious planet located in the umbra of Jupiter, home to the Xiliens. Its surface is barren, inhospitable, and lacking in water, so the Xiliens have been forced to make their home in a series of caves beneath the surface. It appeared that Planet X was ravaged due to the constant attacks of the space dragon King Ghidorah, but this turned out to be nothing more than part of a ploy by the Xiliens to conquer Earth to steal its water.
The team of Thomas Stent and Augustus Laver, under the pseudonym of Stat nomen in umbra, won the prize for the second category, which included the East and West Blocks. These proposals were selected for their sophisticated use of Gothic architecture, which was thought to remind people of parliamentary democracy's history, would contradict the republican Neoclassicism of the United States' capital, and would be suited to the rugged surroundings while also being stately. $300,000 was allocated for the main building, and $120,000 for each of the departmental buildings.
Eucalyptus umbra is a tree that typically grows to a height of and forms a lignotuber. Young plants and coppice regrowth have sessile leaves that are broadly egg-shaped to lance shaped, long, wide, held horizontally and arranged in opposite pairs with the bases surrounding the stem. Adult leaves are arranged alternately, the same shade of green on both sides, lance-shaped to curved, long and wide, tapering to a petiole long. The flower buds are mostly arranged in panicles on the ends of branchlets on a peduncle long, the individual buds on pedicels long.
The game was eventually re- branded in 2011 as Final Fantasy XV. As part of its later marketing, Final Fantasy XV was deliberately distanced from the Fabula Nova Crystallis brand to remove the consequent limitation on their target audience, although lore and design elements were retained. The game was also moved fully onto eighth generation consoles and developed using the company's new Luminous Studio engine. The PS3 version was abandoned due to concerns about the console's continued viability. Final Fantasy XV eventually had help from multiple developers, including HexaDrive, XPEC Entertainment and Umbra.
The location of the cemetery had previously been a plantation known as Magnolia Umbra, the house of which was described as a newly built house with five rooms in 1820. The cemetery was constructed during 1850, on plans laid out by Edward C. Jones, and included a Gothic chapel also designed by Jones which no longer exists. The chapel, which was located near the central lake, remained under construction until early 1851. Both the chapel and the porter's lodge sustained very heavy damage during the cemetery's occupation by federal forces during the Civil War.
The town reached the height of its prosperity during the first two centuries AD. During the 5th century, the diocese of Nocera was formed. The Roman town was destroyed at the beginning of the 5th century, possibly by the Visigoths: the survivors rebuilt their homes on top of the hill, where today's Nocera still stands. Lombard grave goods excavated in Nocera Umbra. The Lombards occupied the town and stationed an Arimannia there, then a Gastaldatus and finally, at the beginning of the 9th century (during the Frankish period) it became a county.
666 International was Dødheimsgard's last release to feature Aldrahn on vocals (until his eventual return to the band in 2013, when the band recorded A Umbra Omega with him), Apollyon on bass, and Svein Egil Hatlevik on keyboards. It was also their last release under the name Dødheimsgard; in 2003, the band shortened their name to DHG. The piano intro on "Shiva-Interfere" is taken from the outro track "Wrapped in Plastic" from Satanic Art. It was re-released in 2011 by Peaceville Records, and included two bonus tracks.
Cynthia's ghost addresses Propertius from beyond the grave with criticism (among other things) that her funeral was not lavish enough, yet the longing of the poet remains in the final line inter complexus excidit umbra meos. - "Her shade then slipped away from my embrace."IV.7.96 Book IV strongly indicates Propertius was planning a new direction for his poetry. The book includes several aetiological poems which, in reviewing the mythological origins of Rome and its landmarks, can also be read as critical—even vaguely subversive—of Augustus and his agenda for the new Rome.
The same technique was used for Agni's Philosophy, the engine's demo at E3 2012. The characters of Ardyn, Gentiana, Iris, Aranea, Umbra, Cindy, Cid, and Verstael were all designed by Roberto Ferrari, who had previously done work on Type-0 and was involved with the project from its earlier development as Versus XIII. These designs were completed by 2010, when the project was still known as Versus XIII. Ferrari was brought on board the project in 2010 after an unidentified female designer resigned from the project as her art was repeatedly rejected by the developers.
After finishing his primary education, he entered the Seminary of Assisi in 1947 , where he finished his secondary education. He was able to continue his education through the death of his parents with the help of his brothers and the assistance of Bishop Placido Nicolini of Assisi. In 1957, Nicolini sent him to the Major Roman Seminary; he attended the Pontifical Lateran University and obtained a licentiate in theology. He earned a doctorate in canon law. Baldelli was ordained priest for the Diocese of Assisi-Nocera Umbra-Gualdo Tadino on 18 March 1961.

Scottish National Athletics Champions He was also the first to hold both titles simultaneously. He won two titles indoor (1994 and 1996) and two titles outdoor (1995 and 1996). His best performances came at the CAU Championships where in 1990 he won the silver medalBritish Athletics Annual 1991, National Union of Track Statisticians behind 1994 Commonwealth Games gold medallist Julian Golley and in 1994 where he achieved his lifetime best of 15.13m,British Athletics Annual 1995, umbra the same year in which John Mackenzie set the current Scottish record of 16.17m.
The effect would be comparable to the shadow of a golf ball cast by sunlight on an object away.
On 11 April 1611, Domenico de' Marini was appointed during the papacy of Pope Paul V as Bishop of Albenga. On 1 May 1611, he was consecrated bishop by Marcello Crescenzi (bishop), Bishop of Assisi, with Virgilio Fiorenzi, Bishop of Nocera Umbra, and Luca Semproni, Bishop of Città di Castello, serving as co-consecrators. On 18 July 1616, he was appointed during the papacy of Pope Paul V as Archbishop of Genoa. On 15 November 1627, he was appointed during the papacy of Pope Urban VIII as Titular Patriarch of Jerusalem.
Ziarul was a daily newspaper in Romania, published in Bucharest. It was founded in 2002 by Eugen Arnăutu, a PSD deputy. It was later taken over by Cristian Burca, former owner of the station Prima TV and Kiss FM. The newspaper changed owner again in October 2007, after Nicolae Bara decided, just months after taking over, to sell the shares it held in the newspaper. Viorel Sima, the new owner, was editor of the tabloid attack, and in June 2008 was also the owner of the weekly Umbra.
Most Paratrechina species are native to Sub-Saharan Africa and Madagascar, but one species, Paratrechina umbra, has only been found in southern China and is native to Southeast Asia. The only species found outside of these regions is Paratrechina longicornis, which has been introduced by humans to tropical areas across the globe. The native range of Paratrechina longicornis is currently unknown, but it is thought to be of either African or Asian origin. Although Paratrechina longicornis has been found in undisturbed habitats in Southeast Asia, the Afrotropics are the center of Paratrechina diversity.
Bayonetta, a witch who was revived twenty years ago from the bottom of a lake, has no memories of her past. Owning one-half of the "Eyes of the World," Bayonetta leaves for Vigrid when the informant Enzo informs her of rumors that the other half is there. Afterward, Bayonetta confronts another Umbra Witch named Jeanne, who seemingly has ties to Bayonetta's past, and a young man named Luka, who blames Bayonetta for his father's death. Eventually, Bayonetta discovers that Jeanne is associated with the angels somehow, and fights her again.
She and her friends head to the Cynbel Sea seeking the sun, where they are joined by Genovefa. After making her way through the Palace of the Sun, Aurora confronts and defeats Nox, regaining the sun. Umbra promptly arrives, enraged at the death of her daughters, but offers Aurora the chance to reunite with her father in exchange for the moon and the stars. Unable to abandon the Lemurians to their fate, Aurora reluctantly tells her father through the portal that she cannot return to him, leading to his death.
She revives Aurora with the aid of all the Lemurians Aurora helped throughout her journey. With Aurora's renewed powers, she quickly flies the party up into the sky to Umbra's castle, and together they defeat Umbra. Through one last vision, Aurora learns that the flood is worsening. With the help of all of her Lemurian friends, she goes through the mirror to her world, arriving on Easter Sunday, and rescues all of the people of the Duke's kingdom from the flood by leading them back through the mirror to Lemuria.
Yohalem particularly expressed how love is an "easy way out" for a writer. The narrative instead focuses on growing up in the modern world, sacrificing time to help others, becoming an adult, and how one does that by themselves. A final level based in the sky and set after defeating Nox but before fighting Umbra was originally planned but did not make it into the final version of the game; the level revolved entirely around gameplay and no story was removed. Though fictional, several aspects of the game are based on reality.
A good example is St Osyth's Well at Bierton (Buckinghamshire), 'restored' (and in the process rebuilt completely) by the Parish Council as part of a project marking Millennium Year in 2000.J. Rattue, Holy Wells of Buckinghamshire (High Wycombe: Umbra), 2003, pp. 31-32. The most active holy wells in Britain are those linked to Christian pilgrimages, at Walsingham, Fernyhalgh (Lancashire) and Holywell (Wales), or popular tourist sites (Bath, Somerset). The Chalice Well at Glastonbury (Somerset) is at the centre of a Neopagan- and New Age-orientated spirituality and retreat centre.
In addition to reporting, he commented on philosophy and art and submitted literary essays and aphorisms. He was an active participant in the city's coffee-house life, making puns and delivering memorably spirited soliloquies; his oral work was comparable to that of Păstorel Teodoreanu, Tudor Mușatescu and Șerban Cioculescu. He was friends with the latter, as well as with Ion Barbu and Camil Petrescu. Lemnaru's only book, the 1946 fantasy short story collection Omul și umbra, was quoted at the Sburătorul literary circle but did not arouse interest.
Bartolomeo Trinci (died January 10, 1421) was the lord of Foligno from 1415. He succeeded his father Ugolino III Trinci, jointly with his brothers Niccolò and Corrado. In 1421 the Castellan of Nocera Umbra, Pietro di Rasiglia, who suspected his wife of adultery with Niccolò, invited the whole Trinci family to a hunting party and killed all of them, except the young Corrado, who took revenge by attacking the town and killing the castellan. However, it was commonly suspected that the young Corrado may have been complicit in the murder of his brothers, in order to become Lord of Foligno.
It was a meeting point for many in the Black Power movement, Black Arts Movement and the civil rights movement and through it Troupe met many individuals involved in other cities including Ishmael Reed (Umbra Group), James Baldwin. In 1968, he edited the anthology, Watts Poets: A Book of New Poetry and Essays. According to the Poetry Foundation, his work is associated with Black Arts Movement writers such as Amiri Baraka, Nikki Giovanni, Wanda Coleman, Haki Madhubuti and Ismael Reed, who were also friends. Their work was diverse but was strongly informed by world literature and jazz music.
To denote other Island industries, one fox wears a garland of potato blossoms, and another one wears a length of fishing net. The compartment centres on a Mi'kmaq eight-pointed star symbol representing the sun; this is surrounded by roses for England, lilies for France, thistles for Scotland, and shamrocks for Ireland, as well as Lady's Slippers, the floral emblem of the island. The island's motto, Parva sub ingenti (the small under the protection of the great), is taken from Virgil's Georgics. The full quotation is: :...etiam Parnasia laurus parva sub ingenti matris se subicit umbra.
In a letter, which is kept in the State Archive in Perugia (Bourbon di Sorbello fund), Marchioness Romeyne left clear instructions to her heirs regarding the setting up of a museum exhibition with the embroidery items she had collected, to be named after her friend and associate Carolina Amari. Today some examples of the embroideries made by the "Scuola di ricami Ranieri di Sorbello" are kept in 4 museums: Casa Museo di Palazzo Sorbello (Perugia, Italy), Museum of the "Tela Umbra" (Città di Castello, Italy), Museum of the embroidery of Bologna (Bologna, Italy), Cooper Hewitt Museum (New York, USA).
Jil Y. Creek (artistic name) (born in Vienna) is an Austrian guitar virtuoso. Best known as author of the guitar workshops “Jil’s Jam” in German Gitarre & Bass Magazine (since June 2006), and the workbooks “Creative Guitar” (published 2008 by Tunesday Records, Berlin, Germany), "Jil's Pentatonik Workshop für E-Gitarre" (2012, same publisher) and "Arpeggio-Workbook für E-Gitarre" (2018, same publisher). Besides her instrumental project, Creek has worked with German gothic acts Umbra et Imago and Lacrimosa as well as with a Frank Zappa cover band called S.W.N.B., led by Austrian legend Wickerl Adam (founder of the Hallucination Company), amongst others.
The neighborhood of 395 people was 75.9% white, and 20.3% African American. The neighborhood is currently plagued by drug (mostly heroin) trafficking and the addicts dependent on that trafficking. Kresson Street, which runs through the heart of the Kresson neighborhood, from East Lombard Street to East Monument Street (0.1 miles outside Kresson) is a section of MD 150. The north-south streets are arranged in consecutive order alphabetically, so to the west of Kresson lie Baylis, Conkling, Dean, Eaton, Fagley, Grundy, Haven, Iris and Janney, while those to the east are named Lehigh, Macon, Newkirk, Oldham, Ponca, Quail, Rappolla, Savage, Tolna and Umbra.
The African-American Theater History Project (also known as Umbra Search), In a partnership between the Penumbra Theater Company and The University of Minnesota with financial support from the Institute of Museum and Library Services and the Doris Duke Charitable Foundation, addresses the lack of access to primary documentation regarding the history and culture of African-American theater. The project's aim is to collaborate with other African-American theater companies to collect, catalog and archive important historical documents, and make this information publicly available in an online catalog to promote awareness and education regarding the history of African-American theater.
He is part-demon and transforms incrementally as his anger at the player increases over the five chapters of Adventure. He is the final unlockable character, obtained after completion of the story rather than with experience points. The character version of Maxwell starts with a Dark Sword, Night Armor, Purple Gem, 4 Nightmare Fuel and the Codex Umbra, a book that when activated uses 2 nightmare fuel, depletes 15 health, lowers maximum sanity by 55, and spawns a shadow clone of himself that aids him in battle, mining, and wood chopping. Shadow Puppets have 75 health and deal 40 damage with each attack.
In 1879, he was hired to teach at Saint Sava. Named "principal preceptor" to Prince Ferdinand, heir to the Romanian throne, Păun spent a number of years with the prince in Germany, where he took the occasion to further his own studies. From 1890, he was a professor at Gheorghe Lazăr High School, where he served as director from 1892 to 1903. He made his literary debut in 1868 with Umbra lui Mihai, a poem in three cantos that appeared in Grigore H. Grandea's Albina Pindului, to which he continued to contribute, sometimes under the pen names Basiliu Dimitrescu and Vasile Demetrescu.
The Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters (BIFF), also known as the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Movement, is an Islamist militant organization based in Mindanao, the Philippines. It is a smaller player in the overall Moro insurgency in the Philippines and is mostly active in Maguindanao and other places in central Mindanao. It is a breakaway group from the Moro Islamic Liberation Front founded by Ameril Umbra Kato. Following Kato's death, the group split into three factions, one of which has aligned with the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL), while the other two are less radical.
After founder Ameril Umbra Kato's death, BIFF's former vice-chairman for political affairs, Ismael Abubakar, alias "Imam Bongos", took over leadership of the group. Among the first moves of the BIFF under Abubakar was the bombing of an outpost of the Philippine Army and two different detachments of the Special Action Force (SAF) in Maguindanao on April 19, 2015. Over time, Ismael Abubakar began to increasingly adopt the radical ideology of the Islamic State of Iraq and the Levant (ISIL), and openly declared an alliance with ISIL in August 2015. This development caused unrest among the group.
A solar eclipse occurs when the Moon passes between the Earth and the Sun, casting a shadow on Earth that temporarily obscures part or all of the Sun's disc. Eclipses can occur only when all three bodies are properly aligned. Partial eclipses, in which only a portion of the Sun's surface is obscured, are relatively common due to the width of the Moon's outer shadow, or penumbra, which may be several hundred miles wide. Total eclipses occur when the Moon's inner shadow, or umbra, reaches the surface of the Earth, completely obscuring the Sun over a much narrower portion of the ground.
A broad source of light will cast nuances of shadow; umbra, penumbra and antumbra, as shown in the accompanying diagram. Photograms may be made outdoors providing the photographic emulsion is sufficiently slow to permit it. Direct sunlight is a point-source of light (like that of an enlarger), while cloudy conditions give soft-edged shadows around three- dimensional objects placed on the photosensitive surface. The cyanotype process ('blueprints') such as that used by Anna Atkins (see above), is slow and insensitive enough that coating it on paper, fabric, timber or other supports can be done in subdued light indoors.
Other words used to mean reflection have contributed to the alternative title of the fable, "The Dog and its Shadow". In the Latin versions of Walter of England,Fable 5 Odo of CheritonFable 61 and Heinrich Steinhöwel's Aesop,Aesop p.50 for example, the word umbra is used. At that time it could mean both reflection and shadow, and it was the latter word that was preferred by William Caxton, who used Steinhöwel’s as the basis of his own 1384 collection of the fables.Fable 1.5 However, John Lydgate, in his retelling of the fable earlier in the century, had used "reflexion" instead.
Fourteen Abu Sayyaf members were sentenced to life imprisonment while four were acquitted. Alhamzer Limbong was later killed in a prison uprising. These rebel groups, especially the Abu Sayyaf, conducted several terror attacks, namely the bombings at Zamboanga in October 2002; the bombing of SuperFerry 14 in February 2004; the simultaneous bombings in Central Mindanao in October 2006; the beheadings of several Philippine Marines in July 2007; the Batasang Pambansa bombing in November 2007; and the 2009 bombings in Mindanao. One thousand MILF rebels under the command of Umbra Kato have seized control of thirty-five villages in the North Cotabato province.
The inner entrance area was artistically shaped by the painter Markus Lüpertz, who transformed the central staircase into six different "color spaces" whose colors are to symbolize certain classical virtues: blue (wisdom), umbra (as lion's color for power and strength), red (valor ), Ocher-gold (justice) and green / white (wisdom). In addition, Lüpertz created the sculpture The Philosopher as the epitome of thoughtful people, which is also located in the entrance area. Another large sculpture in the interior can be called the Great White Heading of the artist Rainer Kriester. On the first floor is the gallery of the former Federal Chancellors.

Liberty" , 1981 on the USS Liberty incident, partially declassified and released to the public in July 2003. The original overall classification of the page, "Top Secret" code word UMBRA, is shown at top and bottom. The classification of individual paragraphs and reference titles is shown in parentheses—there are six different levels on this page alone. Notations with leader lines at top and bottom cite statutory authority for not declassifying certain sections.
Following Zero Hour, Wildfire was absent from Legion comics for some years, and when he returned, it was with a drastically different origin. In a fight with Mordru, Atom'X (Randall Burroughs) and Blast-Off (Jahr-Drake Ningle), members of the Uncanny Amazers and Workforce respectively, were seemingly killed by the villain. However, some time later, several Legionnaires noticed energy patterns in the area, and Umbra was able to contain the energy long enough for them to realize that it was sentient. When they retrieved it to a laboratory they found it contained the inseparable minds of both Atom'X and Blast-Off.
Lunar topography has considerable relief because of the presence of mountains, craters, valleys, and other topographical features. The irregularities of the lunar limb profile (the "edge" of the Moon, as seen from a distance) are known accurately from observations of grazing occultations of stars. Astronomers thus have a fairly good idea which mountains and valleys will cause the beads to appear in advance of the eclipse. While Baily's beads are seen briefly for a few seconds at the center of the eclipse path, their duration is maximized near the edges of the path of the umbra, lasting 1–2 minutes.
Berlusconi asked Fini to step down and the executive proposed the suspension from party membership of three MPs who had harshly criticized Berlusconi and accused some party members of criminal offences. As response, Fini and his followers formed their own groups in both chambers under the name of Future and Freedom (FLI). It was soon clear that FLI would leave the PdL and become an independent party. On 7 November, during a convention in Bastia Umbra, Fini asked Berlusconi to step down from his post of Prime Minister and proposed a new government including the Union of the Centre (UdC).
Self-portrait) dated 1943, followed by Paul Cézanne in such works as the Gilet Rosso (lit. The Red Waistcoat). In 1948, his sketch presented as part of the competition organized by the Sagra Musicale Umbra, along with three other contenders, was chosen as the official poster for the music festival that year."Il Nuovo Corriere", s.a. Questo sarà il cartello della Sagra, 1948 In the same period, Mancini obtained a notable commission: a fresco to be painted using the technique of the ancient masters, “on fresh plaster, using first a cartoon and then pouncing”, in Luisa Spagnoli's former headquarters.
Rome: Cartine da banco, 1976. 502 Its gold-lined frame and Latin inscriptions, with their subtle references to various passages in the two panels, indicate that the donor was wealthy and educated. The sides of each frame are lined with inscriptions from the Book of Isaiah (53:6–9, 12), Revelations (20:13, 21:3–4) or the Book of Deuteronomy (32:23–24). In the right hand panel, the wings of the figure of death contain Latin inscriptions on either side; on the left are the words CHAOS MAGNVM ("great chaos"), with UMBRA MORTIS ("shadow of death") inscribed to the right.
In Sicily the party joined forces with the remnants of the PdL–Sicily and formed an eight-strong group in the Regional Assembly in support of President Raffaele Lombardo. On 7 November, during a crowded convention in Bastia Umbra, Fini asked Berlusconi to step down from his post of Prime Minister and proposed a new government including the Union of the Centre (UdC). Fini declared also that if Berlusconi were not to step down, FLI ministers and under-secretaries would leave the executive. As Berlusconi refused to do so, the four FLI members of the government resigned on 15 November.
Bayonetta was born in Vigrid from the forbidden union of Lumen Sage Father Balder and Umbra Witch Rosa: the Witch was imprisoned and the Sage exiled from his clan. Bayonetta's birth caused a rift between the formally peaceful clans and eventually led to them engaging in a war. Bayonetta became a black sheep among the Umbran Witches, and during the war, Jeanne, her former childhood friend and rival, sealed her away and wiped her memory to protect her from those who would exploit her power. For the next five hundred years, Bayonetta was sealed in a coffin at the bottom of a lake.
However, his service in the Legion was short-lived. After successfully deterring several rejected applicants' attempt at re-opening the newly filled membership slots, Magno and the other two new recruits, Sensor and Umbra, joined the rest of the Legion in battling Mordru. During the Legion's first encounter with the sorcerer, Magno saved Live Wire's life, but the team was unable to prevent the destruction of the planet Sklar. In the following climactic battle, although Live Wire was able to protect Magno from an energy surge which killed Workforce member Blast-Off, in the aftermath Dyrk's powers of magnetism were entirely gone.
The species was first formally described by the botanists Lawrence Alexander Sidney Johnson and Ken Hill in 1992 as part of the work "A taxonomic revision of the White Mahogonies, Eucalyptus series Acmenoideae (Myrtaceae)" as published in the journal Telopea. The specific epithet is taken from the Latin word mediocris meaning "middling" in reference to medium-sized habit of the tree. E. mediocris is part of the white mahogany group as recognised by Ken Hill, others in the group include; E. acmenoides, E. apothalassica, E. carnea, E. helidonica, E. latisinensis, E. psammitica and E. umbra. The type specimen was collected by Ken Hill just north of Glenhaughton in 1996.
On November 9, 1998, she performed at the opening of Chick Corea's concert in Bucharest. The project that came after the concert involving her with the percussionist Lucian Maxim and it was a fusion of jazz with classical music and old Romanian gypsy music found in the traditional remakes of Marius Mihalache. A new album was ready to be released in 1999, called "De dragoste" (For Love) that gathered ten songs composed by Nicu Alifantis. It is the first complete album that she had released, with songs such as "Almost Silence"/"Aproape liniște"; "The Shadow"/"Umbra"; "How Good That You Exist"/"Ce bine că ești".
Linaria vulgaris in a meadow Pollination by garden bumblebee The plant is widespread on ruderal spots, along roads, in dunes, and on disturbed and cultivated land. Because the flower is largely closed by its underlip, pollination requires strong insects such as bees and bumblebees (Bombus species). The plant is food plant for a large number of insects such as the sweet gale moth (Acronicta euphorbiae), mouse moth (Amphipyra tragopoginis), silver Y (Autographa gamma), Calophasia lunula, gorgone checkerspot (Charidryas gorgone carlota), toadflax pug (Eupithecia linariata), satyr pug (Eupithecia satyrata), Falseuncaria ruficiliana, bog fritillary (Boloria eunomia), Pyrrhia umbra, brown rustic (Rusina ferruginea), and Stenoptilia bipunctidactyla. It may be mildly toxic to livestock.
It is endemic to the a small area in mid north coast region of New South Wales around Laurieton, Kendall and Kew where is mostly situated on rocky hillsides among the coastal ranges in three small locations where it is a part of dry forests and woodland communities. Six main populations are known mostly in the Kerewong State Forest and around North Brother Mountain and Mid Brother Mountain. It is often associated with species of Eucalyptus including; Eucalyptus acmenoides, Eucalyptus gummifera, Eucalyptus intermedia, Eucalyptus siderophloia and Eucalytus umbra. Other species commonly found in its habitat include; Allocasuarina torulosa, Helichrysum elatum, Imperata cylindrica, Syncarpia glomulifera and Themeda australis.
Umbra, penumbra, and antumbra formed through windows and shutters. Jurists have used the term "penumbra" as a metaphor for rights implied in the constitution.Burr Henly, "Penumbra": The Roots of a Legal Metaphor, 15 81, 83–84 (1987) (discussing origin of term from its original scientific meaning); Glenn H. Reynolds, Penumbral Reasoning on the Right, 140 1333, 1336 (1992) (discussing how the Supreme Court has found "a right of privacy implicit in the logic and structure of the Bill of Rights"). In United States constitutional law, the penumbra includes a group of rights derived, by implication, from other rights explicitly protected in the Bill of Rights.
In 1769, during solar cycle 2, Scottish astronomer Alexander Wilson, working at the Macfarlane Observatory, noticed that the shape of sunspots noticeably flattened as they approached the Sun's limb due to solar rotation. These observations showed that sunspots were features on the solar surface, as opposed to minor planets or objects above it. Moreover, he observed what is now termed the Wilson effect: the penumbra and umbra vary in the manner expected by perspective effects if the umbrae of the spots are in fact slight depressions in the surface of the photosphere. The magnitude of the depression is difficult to determine, but may be as large as 1,000 km.
Its members included Nannie and Walter Bowe, Harold Cruse (who was then working on The Crisis of the Negro Intellectual, 1967), Tom Dent, Rosa Guy, Joe Johnson, LeRoi Jones, and Sarah Wright, among others. On Guard was active in a famous protest at the United Nations of the American-sponsored Bay of Pigs Cuban invasion and was active in support of the Congolese liberation leader Patrice Lumumba. From On Guard, Dent,"Dent, Tom (1932-1998)", in William L. Andrews, Frances Smith Foster & Trudier Harris (eds), The Concise Oxford Companion to African American Literature, Oxford University Press, 2001, pp. 106-07. Johnson, and Brenda Walcott and Askia Touré established Umbra.
The species was first formally described by the botanists Lawrence Alexander Sidney Johnson and Kenneth Hill in 1990 in the work New taxa and combinations in Eucalyptus and Angophora (Myrtaceae) as published in the journal Telopea. The specific epithet is taken from the Greek words apo meaning away from and thalassicos meaning of the sea in reference to its range compared to other white mahogany species which are found in more coastal areas. E. apothalassica is part of the white mahogany group as recognised by Ken Hill, others in the group include; Eucalyptus acmenoides, Eucalyptus mediocris, Eucalyptus carnea, Eucalyptus helidonica, Eucalyptus latisinensis, Eucalyptus psammitica and Eucalyptus umbra.
Daniela Petroșel, "Umbra lui Eminescu la Berlin", in Convorbiri Literare, March 2009 Similarly, writer Eugen Cadaru proposes that Poor Dionis is a Romanian contribution to magic realism. Eugen Cadaru, "Realismul magic românesc în contextul realismului magic european", in Luceafărul, Nr. 11/2014 Poor Dionis is central to another debate, which focuses on Eminescu's status as a late Romantic, versus his possibly role as a forerunner of Symbolism. Eminescu's story was lauded by poet and critic Benjamin Fondane, a prominent figure in Romania's own Symbolist circle (ca. 1915). Fondane regarded Poor Dionis as an actual Symbolist masterpiece, his terminology also listing Novalis among the Symbolists.
Dragons used to live on the planets (as evidenced by skeletons in Capscium Caverns), but became extinct due to unknown reasons (a dwarf believes Scargot killed them all, suggesting that at one point Scargot was an actual dragon.) Nova is the light planet and one of two planets within the Baklava system's sun. It is populated by odd creatures called Dancing Fruit and the people of the light, the Luminites, whose queen dies and lives under mysterious circumstances. The Luminite palace holds a Starway to the other planet in the sun, Shadra. A dungeon called Glissini Caves lies hidden under the planet's surface, holding a powerful version of Shadra called Umbra.
Rigor Sardonicous was formed in 1988 by bassist Glenn Hampton, before guitarist- vocalist Joseph J. Fogarazzo joined him in 1990. The band's debut album Apocalypsis Damnare was released in 1999, followed by a split album with The Forgotten in 2002 and then their second album Principia Sardonica in 2004. In 2005, Apocalypsis Damnare was re-recorded and re-released via Paragon Records, while their demo, Risus Ex Mortuus, was re-recorded and re-released as a full- length album in 2006 by the Russian label Endless Desperation Records. In 2008, the band released its third album Vallis Ex Umbra De Mortuus, followed in 2012 by their fourth album Ego Diligio Vos.
The 23rd Century, the future is a time of robots and aliens. The people of Earth have banded together along with several other peaceful alien races to promote peace throughout the galaxy, forming the United Planets. As part of the United Planets, the Galactic Patrol -- a body of law-enforcers -- works to maintain order, under the leadership of Commander Rondu. However, a powerful criminal organization called SHADOW is out to destroy both the Galactic Patrol and the U.P. Led by Lord Umbra, a massive cyborg-computer, SHADOW employs sinister agents and incredible schemes to attack and someday rule over all corners of the known-galaxy.
During 1938, the Italian Air Ministry launched Programme R, a comprehensive effort targeted towards the enactment of several improvements, both qualitative and qualitative, throughout the Regia Aeronautica (Italian Air Force). At the time, those fighter aircraft under consideration for their potential adoption had either already reached the prototype phase of development (such as the Fiat G.50 and the Macchi C.200) or were within advanced stages of development (like the Aeronautica Umbra Trojani AUT.18 and the Caproni Vizzola F.5). However, only one aircraft, designated as the Re 2000 by Italian aircraft manufacturer Reggiane, was intentionally designed with the intention of competing for orders under Programme R in mind.

On February 8, 1952, McShea was appointed auxiliary bishop of the Archdiocese of Philadelphia and titular bishop of Mina by Pope Pius XII. He received his episcopal consecration on the following March 19 from Archbishop Amleto Giovanni Cicognani, with Bishops Eugene J. McGuinness and William David O'Brien serving as co-consecrators, at the Cathedral of SS. Peter and Paul. He selected as his episcopal motto: Sub Umbra Petri ("In the Shadow of Peter"). As an auxiliary bishop, he served as pastor of St. Francis de Sales Church in Philadelphia. McShea was appointed the first Bishop of the newly erected Diocese of Allentown by Pope John XXIII on February 11, 1961.
It is also found with Banksia oblongifolia in Queensland. In some areas of wallum, it may grow as a small tree, along with mallee forms of the red bloodwood (Corymbia gummifera). In Cooloola National Park, it is an occasional emergent plant (along with Melaleuca quinquenervia and Eucalyptus umbra) in closed graminoid heathland, a community of shrubs high containing Xanthorrhoea fulva, Empodisma minus, Petrophile shirleyae, and Hakea and Leptospermum species. On the New South Wales Central Coast, it generally grows as a high shrub and is a canopy component of Banksia aemula open heathland, located on coastal headlands on highly leached Pleistocene white sands overlying Triassic and Permian strata.
Development for Batman started in 2011 at Specular Interactive, who worked with Warner Brothers to build all of the Batmobiles and the Gotham City environment. According to Steve Ranck, the Specular Interactive team spent a lot of time building Gotham City, which in this game "is nearly 10 square miles of various suburbs, unique neighborhoods, elevation changes, tunnels, bridges, hills, dirt roads, jumps, secret paths, etc." Also according to Steve Ranck, the game contains 20 characters "with nearly 1,000 lines of spoken dialog, 3 fully animated boss characters" and 36 missions over 6 stages. Batman uses licensed visibility software, Umbra 3, to handle the occlusion culling in its game.
Fulginiae or Fulginium (modern Foligno) was an ancient town of Umbria, Italy, on the later line of the Via Flaminia, c. 20 km S of Nuceria (Nocera Umbra). It appears to have been of comparatively late origin, inasmuch as it had no city walls, but, in imperial times especially, owing to its position on the new line of the Via Flaminia, it must have increased in importance as being the point of departure of roads to Perusia and to Picenum over the pass of Plestia. It appears to have had an amphitheatre, and three bridges over the Topino river are attributed to the Roman period.
After the death of Julius, Innocenzo took part in the two papal conclaves of 1555. In 1559, on the way to a third conclave from Venice he murdered two men, father and son in Nocera Umbra who had "uttered ill words about him". For this crime he was arrested and imprisoned in the Castel Sant'Angelo, by order of Pope Pius IV; and the following year he was moved to the abbey of Montecassino, and placed in solitary confinement. Following the intervention of Cosimo I de' Medici, duke of Florence, Innocenzo was released but nevertheless forced to face a fine of 100,000 scudi, and threatened with the stripping of his cardinalate.
500 years before the incident that caused Bayonetta's memory loss, there were two factions preserving the balance between darkness and light in the world: the Umbra Witches, who are followers of darkness, and their counterparts, the Lumen Sages, who are followers of light. The factions shared two distinct treasures, the 'Eyes of the World' (separately named the 'Left Eye' and the 'Right Eye') which they used to oversee the just passage of time. Both factions mysteriously disappeared from Vigrid under unknown circumstances. Bayonetta has an ornate piece of jewelry which contains a small red gem, and believes this gem is the Left Eye of the World.
In 1934, he published what is probably his masterpiece, the collection of travel memoirs Panorami garganici, which comprised both new and already published novels. The book, divided into nine chapters and including many pictures of Italian region Gargano, contributed to raise awareness on this area, which was then practically uninhabited. Serena di Lapigio had a strong passion for Italian region Apulia (lo Sperone d'Italia), which he knew very well, from Isole Tremiti, then a prison, to Monte Sant'Angelo, from the coast of San Menaio, to Foresta Umbra. In his writings, he merged his sensitivity to the nature of Gargano with the objectivity of the research of history.
Some of these sessions featured Richard Coughlan of Caravan on drums, although his sessions do not feature on The Virgin Prophet. In 1996, Simonds recorded Six Elementary Songs, released in 1997 on the Tokyo-based Evangel Records. In 1999, Simonds recorded a version of Syd Barrett's setting of the James Joyce poem "Golden Hair" for Russell Mills' album, Pearl and Umbra. 2006-7 saw the participation of Simonds in a musical project called Fovea Hex, alongside Brian Eno, Roger Eno, film composer Carter Burwell, Andrew McKenzie of the Hafler Trio, Steven Wilson, Colin Potter (of Nurse With Wound), Robert Fripp, Percy Jones, and others.
Operation Valiancy (Filipino: Oplan Kagitingan) was the initial military operation of the 2000 Philippine campaign against the Moro Islamic Liberation Front which took place in Maguindanao, Philippines. The Philippine Army, primarily units of its 6th Infantry Division, assaulted Moro Islamic Liberation Front forces in the Talayan-Shariff Aguak-Datu Piang area of Maguindanao and captured Camp Omar ibn al-Khattab, its third largest camp located there. Camp Omar, named after Umar, a senior Sahabi of the Islamic prophet Muhammad, served as the headquarters of the 206th BIAF brigade under Ameril Umbra Kato and was defended by 500 guerillas. Camp Jabal Uhob, another MILF camp in the area, was also captured.
Matching dialogue in the correct order with the masked persons creates vague contexts for the story and allows Scarlett to move onto the next area. Scarlett begins to be unsure of her surroundings, as areas such as her grandpa's greenhouse and her treehouse shared with her brother begin to materialize and branch out of areas of the train. Throughout her journey, she develops the ability to "give life" to objects and control fire while also encountering a dark substance called Umbra, which seems to hate light. After a few puzzles, Finn will become angry at Scarlett, saying that Scarlett left him and that Scarlett should never have left him alone.
The tribes are often xenophobic, and the social structure varies from tribe to tribe. It is known that the drow mastered elemental binding before gnomes did- including a cultural group of fire- elemental binders called the Sulatar. There is also a subgroup called the umbragen, or shadow elves, who worship the Mockery in the form of a scorpion god and Khyber or the Umbra, the Consuming Shadow, for whom the umbragen are named; the umbragen dwell underground beneath Xen'drik and are noted for producing many warlocks and soulknives. Drow in Eberron run the gamut from almost feral in nature to being fully civilized and on par with the cultural level of Khorvaire, varying from tribe to tribe.

From a patrician family of Velletri which was only distantly related to the better known house of Borgia, he was the son of Clemente Erminio Borgia. He studied theology and letters at the "Sapienza" and in 1706 followed Monsignor Bussi to Cologne as secretary to the legation there, succeeding him as nuncio on Bussi's promotion to cardinal in 1712. He remained in northern Europe until 1714, when he was made governor of Assisi, in 1716 becoming bishop of Nocera Umbra. He wanted to go to China as a representative of the Holy See but – impressed by the differences arising in the Chinese rites between the Jesuit and Franciscan missionaries and the Chinese emperor he chose to stay in Italy.
The Department of Public Works sent out, on 7 May 1859, a call for architects to submit proposals for the new parliament buildings to be erected on Barrack Hill, which was answered by 298 submitted drawings. After the entries were narrowed down to three, then Governor General Sir Edmund Walker Head was approached to break the stalemate and the winner was announced on 29 August 1859. The departmental buildings, Centre Block, and a new residence for the Governor General were each awarded separately and the team of Thomas Stent and Augustus Laver, under the pseudonym of Stat nomen in umbra, won the prize for the first category. Construction on all three blocks commenced by the end of 1859.
Palazzo Doria Pamphilj, facade facing the via del Corso Gabriele Valvassori (21 August 1683 - 7 April 1761) was an Italian architect of the late-Baroque period, mainly active in his native city of Rome. In 1711-1717, he helped design the small church of San Giuseppe alle Fornaci near Foligno and as an assistant to Filippo Barigioni, he helped the enlargement of the facilities at the thermal baths of Nocera Umbra . In Rome, he was patronized by the Pamphilj family, helping design the main altar (1720) in the church of Sant'Agnese in Agone, which stands adjacent to the original family palace in Rome. In the 1730s, he helped in the designs of the Palazzo Doria-Pamphili.
The fighting broke just as the normalization annex of the Bangsamoro Framework Agreement was signed between the Philippine government and the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF). Col. Dickson Hermoso, spokesman of the Army’s 6th Infantry Division, claimed that the offensive was not related to the signing of the annex of the peace treaty and said that the government has been collaborating with the MILF to launch an offensive against the BIFF even before the signing of the annex. The government offensive was part of an effort to arrest various BIFF leaders including its leader, Umbra Kato for various crimes. The Philippine National Police has issued a warrant of arrest for various BIFF leaders.

In 2010, the genus Paratrechina was discovered to be paraphyletic with respect to the subgenus Nylanderia, which was then elevated to full generic status. This taxonomic change resulted in Paratrechina becoming monotypic with Paratrechina longicornis as its sole species. A taxonomic review of Paratrechina in 2013 resulted in the description of another species from Africa, called Paratrechina zanjensis, and in 2014 the central African species Paratrechina kohli was transferred from Prenolepis and two more new species from Madagascar were described: Paratrechina ankarana and Paratrechina antsingy. The last taxonomic change to the genus was in 2016 when the Southeast Asian species Paratrechina umbra was transferred from Prenolepis, bringing Paratrechina to a total count of six species.
During the civil rights era, he was a member of the Society of Umbra, a collective of Black writers. Cannon taught humanities at Medgar Evers College, helping to integrate the public school system in New York. In 1969 Cannon penned the novel Groove, Bang, and Jive Around, which author Ishmael Reed called the precursor to rap and author Darius James called in the New York Press "an underground classic of such legendary stature that New York's black cognoscenti have transformed the work into an urban myth." Cannon, along with Joe Johnson and Ishmael Reed, began an independent publishing house that focused on multicultural literature in the 1970s called Reed, Cannon and Johnson.
Pritchard was born in New York City. He studied for a B.A. degree at New York University, where he was president of his campus Fine Arts Society and an active contributor to his college's literary magazine. He did graduate work at Columbia University, and taught briefly at the New School for Social Research and was a poet-in-residence at Friends Seminary. During the years he was a member of the Umbra poets, his work appeared in magazines and journals such as Athanor, Liberator, Season, Negro Digest, Sail, Poetry Northwest, the East Village Other, and Gathering, as well as in several anthologies of African-American writing, including Walter Lowenfels's In a Time of Revolution (1969) and Natural Process, edited by Ted Wilentz and Tom Weatherly.
Orphaned at a very young age in the Cylon attack on Umbra, a small agro community on Caprica at the edge of the thorn forest in yahren 7322, Starbuck never knew his parents. The man known as Chameleon, portrayed by Fred Astaire in the episode "The Man with Nine Lives", is discovered to be Starbuck's father, but Chameleon never reveals this fact to his son, instead trusting only Cassiopeia with this knowledge. Starbuck is very close to the family of Commander Adama, who refers to Starbuck as a man "he loves like a son" in Galactica 1980s "The Return of Starbuck". Starbuck was well liked and had close friendships with some of the other colonial viper pilots such as Flight Sergeant Jolly and Lieutenant Boomer.
Bartolucci was born in 1944 in Bastia Umbra in the diocese of Assisi. He studied at the philosophy and theology and the regional seminary and was ordained on 9 November 1968. He received his doctorate in theology and a Diploma in Pastoral Theology, specializing in catechesis from the Pontifical Lateran University and a licentiate in canon law at the Pontifical University of Saint Thomas Aquinas, Angelicum in Rome. After ten years of pastoral experience, first as curate and then as parish priest, with a number of positions within the diocese, and also as a teacher of religion in state schools in 1977, he joined the Congregation for the Causes of Saints, in the service of the Office of the Judicial Ministry.
Bote, p.149; Ioana Pârvulescu, "Nimeni nu poate sări peste umbra epocii lui" , in România Literară, Nr. 23/2009 To the dissatisfaction of traditionalist readers, he also opined that the young Symbolists had "elevated themselves far above the generic things"—but admitted that they were yet to produce their own "grand poet", Macedonski being "rather the forerunner of Symbolism". Traian G. Dimitriu-Șoimu, "Cu prilejul unei anchete literare", in Luceafărul, Nr. 24/1912, p.436 (digitized by the Babeș- Bolyai University Transsylvanica Online Library) However, the reputation of Symbolism as artistic revolution was already being threatened from abroad. In late 1910, a concerned Karnabatt read news about the invention of Futurism, an Italian current that promoted modern subjectivity and rejected the traditional norms.
He traveled to Japan in January 1927 to follow Umberto Nobile for mounting the N-3 airship, built at Rome's workshops for the Japanese Imperial Navy; In Japan Umberto Nobile asked Felice Trojani to collaborate on the arrangement of the Norge airship expedition to the North Pole. He participated in the design and construction of the Littorio Airport in Rome. It was renamed in 1927 by Umberto Nobile, first of all crew members, to contribute to the creation and to participate in the airship Italy, which collaborated with designing and assembly, to the North Pole. Upon returning from the Soviet Union, he became the technical director of Foligno Aeronautica Umbra SA (AUSA), where he designed the AUSA AUT 18 and AUT 45 aircraft.
It was drained a second time, almost a thousand years later, during a 500-year period: Benedictine monks started the process in the 13th century, and the draining was completed by an engineer from Foligno in the 18th century. The eastern part of the region, being crossed by many faults, has been often hit by earthquakes: the last ones have been that of 1997 (which hit Nocera Umbra, Gualdo Tadino, Assisi and Foligno) and those of 2016 (which struck Norcia and the Valnerina). In literature, Umbria is referred to as Il cuore verde d'Italia or The green heart of Italy. The phrase is taken from a poem by Giosuè Carducci, the subject of which is the source of the Clitunno River in Umbria.
TRSSCOMM (Technical Research Ship Section 4. History of USS Oxford, pp 16-28 pertain to the USS Oxford, 10 of 12 pages blank - redacted as classified Top Secret Umbra. Special COMMunications), an early U.S. Navy earth-moon-earth satellite communication system that relayed ("bounced") messages directly from intelligence-gathering ship to Washington DC by bouncing a microwave signal off the moon, used first on the USS Oxford (15 December 1961). This system consisted of a 16-foot, dish-shaped antenna mounted on a movable platform and capable of bouncing a 10,000 watt microwave signal off a particular spot on the moon and down either to the receiving station at the National Security Agency, Fort Meade, Maryland, or to one of the other Navy SIGINT ships.
During the Civil Rights era, activists paid more and more attention to the political uses of art. The contemporary work of those like James Baldwin and Chester Himes would show the possibility of creating a new 'black aesthetic'. A number of art groups were established during this period, such as the Umbra Poets and the Spiral Arts Alliance, which can be seen as precursors to BAM. Civil Rights activists were also interested in creating black-owned media outlets, establishing journals (such as Freedomways, Black Dialogue, The Liberator, Negro Digest, The Black Scholar and Soul Book) and publishing houses (such as Dudley Randall's Broadside Press and Third World Press.) It was through these channels that BAM would eventually spread its art, literature, and political messages.
Gentile Portino da Montefiore was the Cardinal of the Basilica of Santi Silvestro e Martino ai Monti in Rome. A document dating to March 1312 testifies to the funding by the Cardinal of 600 golden florins for the construction and fresco decoration of a chapel in the Lower Basilica of San Francesco in Assisi. According to recent hypotheses, the unnamed sculptor-architect who built and decorated this chapel was also responsible for creating the monumental tomb of Gentile Portino's parents in Montefiore dell'Aso (Ascoli Piceno).Palozzi, L. Ludlow faces were proprietary and the principal typographer at Ludlow was R. Hunter Middleton, creator of several notable font designs, including Coronet, Stencil, Delphian Open Title, Eusebius, Flair, Radiant, Record Gothic, Stellar, Tempo, Umbra and many others. Other noted designers for Ludlow included Robert Wiebking, Douglas Crawford McMurtrie who served as director of advertising and typography before Middleton, and Hermann Zapf, whose Optima and Palatino were among the last faces cut for Ludlow. Despite the rapid decline of letterpress printing in the 1960s, Ludlow continued in operation at least through the mid-1980s, because Ludlow matrices can also be used by rubber stamp manufacturers. In the early 1980s, the company claimed that 16,000 Ludlows were in operation throughout the world.
Letters of Junius (or Junius: Stat nominis umbra) is a collection of private and open letters critical of the government of King George III from an anonymous polemicist (Junius) claimed by some to be Philip Francis (although Junius' real identity has never been verified), as well as other letters in- reply from people to whom Junius had written between 1769 and 1772. The collection was published in two volumes in 1772 by Henry Sampson Woodfall, the owner and editor of a London newspaper, the Public Advertiser. The collection includes 69 letters, 29 to the Printer of the Public Advertiser originally intended for public readership, with the remaining 40 to individuals, then made public. It included letters written by Philo Junius, who, some say, was Junius himself.
Verus assigns the group to stop Baelheit's efforts at pro- machination, an effort to forcibly mechanize key locations in other nations to boost Baelheit's power and control. Though Sagi and company secure the cooperation of the other nations' leaders, they prove consistently unable to contend with the powerful mechanical weapons of Baelheit's Machina Vanguard, ultimately allowing Baelheit to establish footholds in every nation. The group encounters more Umbra on their journey, learning that they are afterlings, pieces of an ancient, evil god named Malpercio. Sagi quickly learns that whenever an afterling is slain in his presence, he is overcome by a vision of another world, in which a sorcerer named Wiseman pursues pro-magnation to turn every being in the world into pure Magnus.
After dialogue with the masked figures while dealing with the Umbra, Scarlett realizes that Finn died in an accident when Scarlett was out on a date (implying that she was interacting with Finn's spirit this entire time). This takes Scarlett and Finn back to the treehouse and leads Finn to say he doesn't want to go alone because he does not remember what their parents, who died long ago, look like. Scarlett draws a picture of what their mom looks like and attaches it onto one of the figures, who transforms into their mom after Scarlett uses magic. Scarlett says her goodbyes and Finn and their parents walk away into the moonlight of the treehouse deck, fading away in the form of luminescent butterflies.
She intended to study the dramatic arts in Paris, but did not obtain her father's consent. Under the pen name Valer Donea, she published reportages in Universul literar și artistic. Her first novel was Mormolocul (1933), followed by Naufragiații din Aukland (1937). Her fairly extensive output included books of interviews (Domniile lor domnii și doamnele, 1937, republished in 1969 as Stele și luceferi), memoirs and volumes recalling Mihail Sadoveanu (O zi cu Sadoveanu, 1955; Viața lui Mihail Sadoveanu, 1957, republished in 1966 as Ostrovul zimbrului; În umbra stejarului, 1965; Planeta părăsită, 1970), prose poems (Ploi și ninsori, 1940), poems (Somnul pietrei, 1971; Cântecele lui Ștefan Vodă, 1974; Flori de piatră, 1980; Ora violetă, 1984) and children's verses (Balaurul alb, 1955; Ochelarii bunicii, 1969).
He led his Field Commanders in several battles in Linamon, Bacolod, Kauswagan and Maigo towns in Lanao del Norte at the time when former President Joseph Estrada declared all-out-war against the MILF on March 21, 2000. He led several enormous battles in the provinces of Lanao del Norte, Lanao del Sur and Maguindanao, and also led in defending the MILF main camp of Camp Abubakar in Maguindanao. He stated to his Field Commanders about the "Battles, and it is one of the standard to the Soldier of Islam, however the cost figure is the damage "Bullet" spending war made by the government forces which can derive deficit of the Republic of the Philippine". Ameril Umbra Kato was founder and Commander of the Bangsamoro Islamic Freedom Fighters (BIFF), a breakaway group from the MILF.
Quadruple Saturn moon transit captured by Hubble Space Telescope Solar eclipses on Saturn occur when the natural satellites of Saturn pass in front of the Sun as seen from Saturn. For bodies which appear smaller in angular diameter than the Sun, the proper term would be a transit and which are larger than the apparent size of the Sun, the proper term would be an occultation. Seven of Saturn's satellites – Janus, Mimas, Enceladus, Tethys, Rhea, Dione and Titan – are large enough and near enough to eclipse or occult the Sun, or in other words to cast an umbra on Saturn. Most of the more distant satellites, besides being tiny, have orbits that are strongly inclined to the plane of Saturn's orbit, and would rarely be seen to transit.
It was reported that Guma's unit would engage other MILF units over disputes such as clan feuds. It was also reported that Guma is not on good terms with other MILF units which Guma views as "Munafiq", or hypocrites. A ranking military intelligence officer who spoke on condition of anonymity said that BIFF leader Ameril Umbra Kato ordered the killing of the SAF members by his group and members of the MILF involved in the incident. The official also quoted Kato as saying “Leave no one alive and take all their firearms, ammunition, and personal belongings.” A colonel from the Philippine Army, who also spoke on condition of anonymity, confirmed the information and said that SAF personnel who were still alive but wounded were shot dead by some BIFF members.
It thus played an active part in the proceedings leading to the creation of Communist Romania. At the time, PCR leaders began using Antonescu's 1943 crackdown on the Front as an instrument in intra-party fights: after General Secretary Gheorghiu-Dej had ordered his predecessor Ştefan Foriş to be abducted and held in secrecy, it was alleged that Foriş' collaborator Remus Koffler had functioned as an agent for the former secret service (Siguranţa Statului), and that he had engineered Groza's arrest.Betea, "În umbra..." Nevertheless, relations between the Front and Communists were tested at times: after its first congress (July 1945), Groza's party called for the preservation of small, privately owned, agricultural plots and voluntary cooperative farming instead of the collectivization advocated by the PCR;Cioroianu, p.162; Hitchins, p.

When the Italian mercenary Uguccione della Faggiuola conquered the town in 1314, the remaining papal treasures and the cardinal's possession were stolen. Gentile is known to have been in Siena, when a document dating to March 1312 testifies the cardinal paid 600 golden florins for the construction and fresco decoration of a chapel in the Lower Basilica of Saint Francis in Assisi. According to recent hypotheses, the unnamed sculptor-architect who built and decorated this chapel was also responsible for creating the monumental tomb of Gentile Portino's parents in Montefiore dell'Aso (Ascoli Piceno).Palozzi, L. Eventually, she arrived on Earth, and chose to join in the Legion tryouts. She was accepted, alongside Magno and Umbra, and chose the codename Sensor (a homage to "Sensor Girl," Princess Projectra's later codename in the pre-Zero Hour Legion) because of her powers as a mentalist. She served with the Legion for some time—even during their disbandment, when half the team was "Lost", she was a key component of R.J. Brande's plan to construct the artificial planetoid, Legion World, allowing them to hide the construction efforts while Brande and Cosmic Boy plotted to restart the team. After most of the Lost members returned and the team formally reconstituted, she continued to serve with the team, until she was struck by a bolt of "Hypertaxis energy" while on Xanthu.
They felt they had to step away from what they perceived as a stale hip hop scene as it existed in Los Angeles. Determined to make their new album all about the new musical direction they were taking, Thes One and Double K released Stepfather with an extremely toned-down, minimalist album cover by Thes One's long time friend, Joshua Dunn of the design team Secret Pizza Party (who later became an editor for Wax Poetics). The cover was meant to look like a "working copy" record sleeve, with just the group's name in Umbra font and two fireworks prints, as well as the album's name and a phone number. People Under the Stairs invited keyboardist Kat Ouano of the Oakland-based Crown City Rockers to play on the album-closing track, "On & On".
The score was composed from May to December 1983, and also exists in a version for symphony orchestra, which was first performed in the broadcasting hall of Radio Freies Berlin on 17 and 18 October 1987, by the Radio Symphony Orchestra with Michael Svoboda (euphonium), Markus Stockhausen, Kathinka Pasveer, and Andreas Boettger (percussion), conducted by the composer. Chiesa di San Rufino, Assisi, where Luzifers Abschied was premiered Lucifer's Farewell was commissioned by the Associazione Sagra Musicale Umbra for the 800th anniversary of Saint Francis of Assisi, and was composed in August 1982. It is dedicated to Francesco Siciliani. The separate premiere of Lucifer's Farewell was performed by the Händel Collegium Köln on 28 September 1982 in the Chiesa di San Rufino in Assisi, where St. Francis was baptised.

His career was long and he worked not only in Assisi but all over Umbria, including in the cities of Todi, Perugia, Bastia Umbra, Foligno, and Terni. In Assisi his work can be found in the Basilica of Saint Francis (among other works by him in the Basilica a large fresco of the Universal Judgement in the apse of the Lower Church, the most demanding artistic work done in the Basilica during the 17th century), the Basilica of Saint Mary of the Angels, the Chiesa Nuova, the Bishop's Residence, and the church of Rivotorto (which contains a series of 12 oil paintings from 1653 portraying the activities of Saint Francis and his early followers). Sermei also collaborated with other artists, including Girolamo Martelli and Giacomo Giorgetti. Sermei's pictorial language is expressive and direct; his works are clear, immediate, and easy to understand.
Born in Umbertide and raised in Bastia Umbra, Italy, he later on moved to Rome, where he lives. After studying acting in Perugia (at Centro Teatrale Universitario), Rome (at La maschera in soffitta and with acting coaches Gisella Burinato and Ivana Chubbuck), Milan (with actor Filippo Timi) and London (at Guildhall School of Music and Drama), he made his television debut at age 21, in 2008, with two small roles in La scelta di Laura, directed by Alessandro Piva, and Amiche mie, directed by Paolo Genovese and Luca Miniero. He then went on appearing in many successful TV series, such as Don Matteo, directed by Giulio Base, and Inspector Rex, directed by Marco Serafini. In 2013, he has a leading role in the very popular TV miniseries Pupetta – Il coraggio e la passione, directed by Luciano Odorisio.
Trains stopping in the station are regional trains running from Terni to L'Aquila, operated by Ferrovia Centrale Umbra company, on behalf of Trenitalia, with ALn 776 diesel multiple units. Even if there is no direct railway between Rieti and Rome, as the construction of such aa railway has been subject of a long debate but never took place, Rome can be reached by catching a train to the Terni station, where direct trains to Rome can be found.Trains departing from the station of Terni In addition, in recent years a direct train from Rieti to Rome, at early morning, and a direct train from Rome to Rieti, in the late evening, were introduced; both train pass through Terni, travel on the Ancona–Orte railway, reach Orte and then travel on the Florence–Rome high- speed railway taking approximately 1 hour and 40 minutes.
There was a PDB that had a section on Chile dated 11 September 1973 that is still completely censored, as was an entire page on Chile provided to Nixon on 8 September 1973. Additionally, a cable from CIA operative Jack Devine dated 10 September 1973, confirmed to top U.S. officials that the coup would take place the following day. In collaboration with the coup, a Defense Intelligence Agency summary, also dated on 8 September and classified "Top Secret Umbra", provided detailed information on an agreement among the Chilean Army, Navy, and Air Force to move against Allende on 10 September. As the CIA denies its involvement in the coup, another cable sent from the agency on 8 September classified "Secret" had information on the Chilean Navy time and date to overthrow the government of President Allende.
His pas de deux, Black has been performed at the Bolshoi Theatre by Svetlana Zakharova and Andrei Merkuriev (2008) and in New York by Irina Dvororenko and Maxim Beloserkovsky. In 2008 for the Mariinsky Theatre in St Petersburg he created Contradictions for Ulyana Lopatkina. In 2009 he created a new work specifically for Svetlana Zakharova titled Super Game which is a multimedia collaboration for the prima ballerina and six principal dancers of the Bolshoi Ballet. Additionally, his works included Immemoria, a work for 40 dancers to music by Shostakovich, premiering at La Scala in May 2010, and Sed lux permanent – Transit umbra, to music by Schoenberg, for the Ballet du Grand Théâtre de Genève. From 2002 to 2005 he was general director of the Maggio Musicale Fiorentino.
The Egyptians assert that it was invented among themselves, six thousand years before it passed into Greece; a vain boast, it is very evident. As to the Greeks, some say that it was invented at Sicyon, others at Corinth; but they all agree that it originated in tracing lines round the human shadow [...omnes umbra hominis lineis circumducta].“. In Chapter 15, he tells the story of Butades of Corinth: :: “Butades, a potter of Sicyon, was the first who invented, at Corinth, the art of modelling portraits in the earth which he used in his trade. It was through his daughter that he made the discovery; who, being deeply in love with a young man about to depart on a long journey, traced the profile of his face, as thrown upon the wall by the light of the lamp [umbram ex facie eius ad lucernam in pariete lineis circumscripsit].

Twenty-five years or so after the release of the Mellow Candle album, interest in the band reawakened, starting in Japan, and the album has now been re- released several times, attaining cult status. One of Simonds' songs, "Silversong", was covered by All About Eve in 1988, and another, "Poet and the Witch", was covered by Stephen Malkmus in 1998. In 1999, she sang a version of the Syd Barrett/James Joyce song "Golden Hair" for Russell Mills' album Pearl & Umbra. Between 2005 and 2007, under the name Fovea Hex, she released 3 EPs, collectively entitled Neither Speak Nor Remain Silent, featuring Michael Begg, Carter Burwell, John Contreras, Roger Doyle, Brian Eno, Roger Eno, Robert Fripp, Percy Jones, Cora Venus Lunny, Dónal Lunny, Andrew M. The British torpedo attack came when the Italian battlefleet was passing through the area of the 10th Submarine Flotilla, after the plan to form a line north of the track of the convoy had been overtaken by events after the Italian battleships sailed and the convoy turned back. (Lieutenant S. L. C. Maydon) picked up the Italian ships on hydrophone and steered towards the fleet as the torpedo-bombers dropped illumination flares. Maydon found that Umbra was Trento was circled by the battleships, which then resumed their southward course, leaving it behind with the destroyer Antonio Pigafetta; at Maydon fired torpedoes at Vittorio Veneto, with no hits. The Italian ships had also been seen at by (Lieutenant P. R. H. Harrison), the heavy cruisers to the west of the battleships and at Ultimatum attacked through the destroyer screen, only to be frustrated by the cruisers zig-zagging and passing overhead.
Ardices of Corinth was (along with a "Telephanes of Sicyon") according to Pliny the Elder the first artist who practiced the form of "monogram",Pliny the Elder, Natural History (Pliny) 35.5 or drawing in outline with an indication also of the parts within the external outline, but without color, as in the designs of the artists John Flaxman and Moritz Retzsch. Pliny, after stating that the invention of the earliest form of drawing, namely, the external outline, as marked by the edge of the shadow (umbra hominis lineis circumducta, or pictura linearis), was claimed by the ancient Egyptians, the Corinthians, and the Sicyonians, adds that it was said to have been invented by Philocles, an Egyptian, or by Cleanthes, a Corinthian, and that the next step was made by Ardices and Telephanes, who first added the inner lines of the figure (spargentes lineas intus).
Maria Montessori, Il metodo della pedagogia scientifica applicato all'educazione infantile nelle case dei bambini, Città di Castello, Scipione Lapi, 1909. During the same period she also held the first teachers’ training course with focus on the Montessori method at Palazzo Alberti-Tomassini, headquarters of the Tela Umbra workshop in Città di Castello. After this course, Baroness Franchetti inaugurated a "Casa dei Bambini" at Villa Montesca. Thanks to mediation by Alice, Romeyne Robert had a chance to meet both Maria Montessori and the teacher Felicitas Buchner at Villa Wolkonsky in Rome in 1909. The Montessori method, initially “tested” on request of the Marchioness directly on her three children (Gian Antonio, Uguccione and Lodovico),Claudia Pazzini, Coltivare l’immaginario, p.47. was then applied to teaching in the rural primary school at Pischiello just three months after the meeting with the illustrious pedagogy expert: in June 1909 the Pischiello school appeared to be fully equipped and operational following Maria Montessori's theories.
From early childhood, long before she undertook her public mission or even her monastic vows, Hildegard's spiritual awareness was grounded in what she called the umbra viventis lucis, the reflection of the living Light. Her letter to Guibert of Gembloux, which she wrote at the age of seventy-seven, describes her experience of this light with admirable precision: > From my early childhood, before my bones, nerves and veins were fully > strengthened, I have always seen this vision in my soul, even to the present > time when I am more than seventy years old. In this vision my soul, as God > would have it, rises up high into the vault of heaven and into the changing > sky and spreads itself out among different peoples, although they are far > away from me in distant lands and places. And because I see them this way in > my soul, I observe them in accord with the shifting of clouds and other > created things.
Born from the same Regia Aeronautica requirement that spawned the Caproni-Vizzola F.5, FIAT G.50, Macchi C.200, Meridionali Ro 51 and Reggiane Re 2000 fighters, the A.U.T.18 flew for the first time on 22 April 1939, powered by a Fiat A.80 R.C.41 radial engine. The fighter had an all-metal stressed-skin structure, covered in duralumin, featuring an inwardly-retracting undercarriage and retractable tail-wheel and was armed with two Breda-SAFAT machine-guns mounted in the wings just outboard of the undercarriage. Flight trials proved disappointing and lagged behind the other fighters in Progetto R - the modernisation (riammodernamento) of the Regia Aeronautica. With no production orders forthcoming, despite the prototype being returned to the Umbra factory at Foligno for modifications on 20 February 1940 and a second flight test series from 5 November 1940, no improvement was demonstrated over fighters already in production so the A.U.T.18 was abandoned.
East Block The Earl of Athlone, the last Governor General to use the viceregal office in the East Block The Department of Public Works sent out on 7 May 1859 a call for architects to submit proposals for the new parliament buildings to be erected on Barrack Hill, which was answered by 298 submitted drawings. After the entries were narrowed down to three, then Governor General Sir Edmund Walker Head was approached to break the stalemate, and the winner was announced on 29 August. The departmental buildings, Centre Block, and a new residence for the governor general were each awarded separately, and the team of Thomas Stent and Augustus Laver, under the pseudonym of Stat nomen in umbra, won the prize for the first category. Construction on the East Block commenced by the end of 1859, at the same time as work on the Centre Block and Stent and Laver's West Block began.
At the time when the tramcars were delivered to the city's main station they had to be delivered to the storage location using ox carts, and until 1901 the service provided was intermittent because of constant interruptions to the electric power supply. The service was operated by Società Anonima Elettricità Umbra (SAEU), a company operated by the German Siemens-Shukert group: SAEU was also the company that had taken care of the city's switch-over from gas lighting to electric lighting. The new tramway was not universally welcomed, since the city centre retains its Medieval street plan, which meant that even on the central Corso Vannucci (street) where tram rails were laid, they sometimes passed unnervingly close to peoples' shops and homes. On the other hand, the hill-top location of the city centre meant that children, periodically interrupted by a passing tram, could enjoy rolling and racing bowling balls down the tracks.
The first timetables gave a journey time between the station and the city centre, and this proved sustainable not withstanding some vocal protests about the perceived danger the stability of the city's buildings from the vibrations of the trams rattling past. There were also sometimes journeys involving good wagon from the national rail service being towed into the centre by the municipal trams. (It was not possible for standard Italian railway locomotives to operate on the tramway because the gauge of the tramway was narrower than the national railway system's standard gauge.) Although Umbra in particular was disgusted by the forced integration, they successfully contained the energy long enough to create a containment suit for it, and the new being took the name Drake Burroughs after his forebears and the codename ERG-1. Shortly afterward, ERG-1 was one of the Legionnaires lost in a spatial rift - although he suffered a traumatic experience as his containment suit was ripped open by the rift. When Element Lad had returned the other Legionnaires to normal space, albeit becoming separated from them in time in the process, ERG-1's energy leeched into space too, congealing as a "star" noticed by Shikari's nomadic people, the Kwai, which led her to discover and accidentally revive the other Legionnaires, who had been held in suspended animation. Soon afterward, while the Legionnaires met the Kwai, Kid Quantum noticed that the "feral star" the Kwai had been following was in fact ERG-1.
Even study abroad programs have created new, interdisciplinary food studies programs, among them Palazzo Rucellai in Florence and The Umbra Institute in Perugia. Gustolab International is another institution which offers research internships and courses in sustainable production and consumption, food and media, food waste, advertising, science and nutrition, new technologies, and the history of food in Italy, Japan and Vietnam. To be mentioned also is the Pollenzo-based (near Bra, Cuneo, Italy) University of Gastronomic Sciences, the Institut Européen d'Histoire et des Cultures de l'Alimentation (of Tours, France, mentioned above) and FOST: Social and Cultural Food Studies of the Vrije Universiteit Brussel (Belgium), providing education in bachelor, master or postgraduate studies. Numerous presses publish academic and popular books about the cultural significance of food, some of which are Columbia University Press, University Press of Mississippi, the University of Nebraska Press, University of California Press, the University of Illinois Press, the MIT Press, Bloomsbury Academic, Rowman & Littlefield, Berg, Earthscan, Routledge, Prospect, and Equinox Publishing.

Lake of the Idols () is a lake located in Arezzo Province, Tuscany, Italy. It is located above sea level atop Monte Falterona, about 600 metres from the source of the river Arno.: "The Lake of Idols is about 1380 metres above sea level on the southern slope of Monte Falterona (1654 metres) near to the sources of the Arno, approximately 600 metres more to the north-west (1358 metres)." Situated near an ancient road linking Etruria (including Tuscany and Umbria) with the Adriatic port cities of Romagna,: "Passava da questo zona una importante viabilità che collegava l'Etruria toscana e umbra alle zone dell'attuale Romagna e relativi porti adriatici (viabilità utilizzata anche in epoca romana e per tutto il medioevo." it is known for one of the largest archaeological finds of the Etruscan civilization; over 600 bronze statuettes of Etruscan and Roman origin, along with thousands of other figurines from Cisalpine Gaul and Umbria, were discovered within the lake.
Once on Repler they make contact with the drug trader Dominick Rose who is using Captain Malcolm "Mal" Hammurabi and his ship, the Umbra, as unwitting transporters of bloodhype. This trio tracks Rose to his base where they encounter Flinx, currently in Rose’s employ, who helps them escape when Rose’s men capture the agents. After they report Rose’s activities to the United Church, Rose escapes to the AAnn base right before the AAnn lose control of the Vom. Meanwhile, the agents have enlisted the help of Rose’s brother who has discovered the Tar-Aiym Guardian and his machine now orbiting above Repler. With the assistance of Flinx’s psychic abilities the Guardian prepares to fight the Vom again, while Kitty, Porsupah, and Mal prepare a raid on the AAnn base to capture Rose. The Vom escapes and the Guardian is forced to fight it in a psychic battle, but is slowly losing until Kitty and Mal manage to recover Rose’s supply of bloodhype and use it to poison the Vom.

The Moon's umbra, as seen from the International Space Station A large number of media outlets broadcast coverage of the eclipse, including television and internet outlets. NASA announced plans to offer streaming coverage through its NASA TV and NASA Edge outlets, using cameras stationed on the ground along the path of totality, along with cameras on high-altitude balloons, jets, and coverage from the International Space Station; NASA stated that "never before will a celestial event be viewed by so many and explored from so many vantage points—from space, from the air, and from the ground." ABC, CBS, and NBC announced that they would respectively broadcast live television specials to cover the eclipse with correspondents stationed across the path of totality, along with CNN, Fox News Channel, Science, and The Weather Channel. In the wake of extensive business restructuring in 2013, development was transferred to the newly formed Business Division 2, headed by Tabata and incorporating the core Final Fantasy development team.
