CILS studies the intersection between museums and schools as centers of informal learning with the intention of understanding how informal science learning occurs and how informal educational centers such as the Exploratorium can contribute to science education reform. The Tinkering Studio began in 2008 as an in-house program geared towards maker culture and a “think with your hands” approach.

George Eld (died 1624) was a London printer of the Jacobean era, who produced important works of English Renaissance drama and literature, including key texts by William Shakespeare, Ben Jonson, Christopher Marlowe, and Thomas Middleton. Eld was the son of a carpenter from Derbyshire. He served an eight- year apprenticeship to bookseller Robert Bolton, starting in 1592, and became a "freeman" (a full member) of the Stationers Company on 13 January 1600. He established himself in his own printing business in 1604, at the sign of the White Horse in Fleet Lane, by marrying the widow of not one but two master printers.

The Conspiracy and Tragedy of Byron were entered into the Stationers' Register on 5 June 1608 and were published together later in the year in a quarto printed by George Eld for the bookseller Thomas Thorpe. (Thorpe had previously published other works by Chapman, All Fools, 1605, and The Gentleman Usher, 1606, as well as works by his Eastward Hoe collaborators Ben Jonson and John Marston. Thorpe the stationer and Eld the printer would be responsible for the first edition of Shakespeare's Sonnets in the following year, 1609.) She is eventually revealed to be the Eld Witch before she became consumed with the need for revenge, as Queen Alice refused to reincarnate her daughters. The full-time all wheel drive system is composed by two open differentials front and rear and a rear-mounted electronically controlled coupling, which sends torque to the two axles in proportion depending on road conditions. At the rear is a specially developed torsion beam semi-independent suspension, a change from the previous generation's trailing arms. As she rescues each princess, Liddell is given their personal sigils. When combined, the six sigils will allow Liddell to travel to Alice's world and confront the Eld Witch. Various elements about Liddell's past and personality are revealed, such as Liddell's abandonment as a child, the resurgence of memories where she was rescued by what appears to be Queen Alice, and her admission that her desire to become the strongest witch stems from a belief that if she becomes strong that her mother will return to her. It's eventually revealed that the six kingdoms were created by Queen Alice as a form of added protection for the seal she placed on the Eld Witch, and that she also descended into the underworld to serve as a permanent watchman and guardian against any potential further action.

Shenstone House of 1855: Chamberlain's first building in Birmingham, and the first High Victorian building in the town Chamberlain was born in Leicester on 21 June 1831, son of a Baptist minister, and received his architectural training with a local practice. After further experience in London and a period travelling in Italy he moved to Birmingham in 1853. He designed two buildings for John Eld, the business partner of his uncle. The first of these to be completed, Eld's house at 12 Ampton Road, Edgbaston (1855) survives to this day and already shows many of the features that would characterise much of Chamberlain's later work: a gothic structure in polychromatic brick with finely crafted decoration inspired by natural and organic forms. The shop at 28–29 Union Street for Eld & Chamberlain has been demolished.

Sven Wallander, the head of HSB, commissioned the sculpture after he had seen the glass sculpture Prisma by Vicke Lindstrand in Norrköping. HSB donated Grön eld to Umeå Municipality, which paid for the foundation. Lennart Johansson, who assembled the sculpture in 1970, told the press in December 2013 that he had hidden an image of Mao Zedong in one of the glass flames of the sculpture.

Grön eld consists of three twisted glass pillars that grow thinner at the top. The glass pillars are constructed of three thousand, nine millimeter thin, plates of glass made by Emmaboda glasverk in Sweden. The glass pieces are glued together with epoxy glue in order to cope with the harsh climate. The nine meter high sculpture weighs 45 tons and is standing on a heavy concrete pedestal with a piled foundation.

Lampley ran for a seat to the Alberta Legislature in the 1935 Alberta general election as the Social Credit candidate for the Peace River provincial electoral district. He won a hotly contested race on the third count over four other candidates including incumbent William Bailey who finished third. Lampley ran for a second term in the 1940 Alberta general election. He contested a straight fight against Independent candidate Eld Martin.

After church membership had declined thru the latter 1900s, responsibility for ministry was assigned to Metropolitan United Methodist Church in the 1990s, and ministry was discontinued in early 2000s. Gray and humpback whales are rare in the South Sound but have been known to come there to feed and perhaps shelter whale calves. Southern resident killer whales (orcas) have been reported as far south as Eld Inlet. Smaller species include Dall's porpoise (Phocoenoides Dalli), harbor seals (Phoca Vitulina) and the Pacific harbor porpoise (Phocoena phocoena). A single sea otter was sighted in the South Sound in 2012.

It has a fine eld bridge flanked with towers, a noble townhall (1526), belfry, and a beautiful Gothic church, founded in 1238 by Baldwin, Count of Flanders. Table damask, linen, and lace are the chief manufactures. Population, about 35,000. Here, in 1302, the citizens of Ghent and Bruges won over the French the 'Battle of the Spurs,' so named from the number of gilt spurs gathered from the dead.

It recovered somewhat from the damages of war and with the introduction of the new model ELD 4 in 1956 (called the "hondekop" because the nose looked like the head of a dog), the company was able to see some successful years, though the decline had already set in. In 1959 the company was taken over by Verenigde Machine Fabrieken (VMF) and in 1963 the factory closed after the last model DE 140 was delivered.

Gilliland first ran for a seat in the Albert Legislature in the 1944 general election. He was nominated as the Social Credit candidate in Peace River on the second count at a convention held in Grimshaw, Alberta on March 2, 1944. Gilliland took over 50% of the vote to defeat incumbent independent Eld Martin and two other candidates. In the 1948 general election Gilliland defeated two other candidates with over 60% of the popular vote.

She later reluctantly gives Tamlorn to Drede along with the mythical falcon Ter, to watch over Tamlorn.

The Lazarev Mountains () are a chain of mountains in Antarctica. They extend along the west side of Matusevich Glacier southward of Eld Peak, and are about long. The mountains were photographed from the air by U.S. Navy Operation Highjump (1946–1947), the Soviet Antarctic Expedition (1957–1958) and an Australian National Antarctic Research Expedition (1959). They were named by the Soviet expedition after Lieutenant Mikhail Petrovich Lazarev, commander of the sloop Mirnyy of the Bellingshausen expedition (1819–1821).

EL works by exciting atoms by passing an electric current through them, causing them to emit photons. By varying the material being excited, the colour of the light emitted can be changed. The actual ELD is constructed using flat, opaque electrode strips running parallel to each other, covered by a layer of electroluminescent material, followed by another layer of electrodes, running perpendicular to the bottom layer. Mount Martyn () is a cluster of bare rock faces with one peak, standing south of Eld Peak in the Lazarev Mountains of Antarctica. This is probably the most prominent rock outcrop on the west side of Matusevich Glacier. The mountain was photographed by U.S. Navy Operation Highjump, 1946–47, and again on February 20, 1959, by the Australian National Antarctic Research Expeditions (ANARE) (Magga Dan) led by Phillip Law. It was named for D.F. Martyn, a member of the ANARE Executive Planning Committee.

Oyster Bay mudflats Great tidal variation gives rise to extensive mudflats in the inlets of the South Sound. Tidal variation increases with distance from the entrance to Puget Sound and is greatest at 15+ feet in the South Sound, versus only 11 in Seattle (compare 5 in Los Angeles). Mudflats include the Mud Bay region at the southern end of Eld Inlet and Oyster Bay at the southern end of Totten Inlet. The entirety of Oyster Bay is exposed mud at low tide.

A voter had reported being unable to vote due to the system stating that she had already cast her vote prior. The case was escalated to the assistant returning officer and the police. Investigations revealed human error had resulted in the e-registration system being inadvertently logged out which prevented the registration of her NRIC into the system. The first church on this site, called Mount Zion Methodist, was established in 1840, in the vicinity of Tennally Town, a farming village, approximately three miles north of Georgetown, on the Rockville Pike. The original structure may have been rebuilt after the Civil War. In 1899, the building was renovated and expanded, and the name was changed to Eldbrooke, after Aquila Eld and Philip Brooke, who were among the founders. The Spanish Colonial Revival building, designed by Howard Wright Cutler, was built in 1926.

According to Article 65(4) of the Constitution, the maximum term of any given Parliament is five years from the date of its first sitting following a general election, after which it is dissolved by operation of law. Ashley Grote is Master of Music at Norwich Cathedral and a fellow of the Royal College of Organists. Born in 1982, Grote grew up in Colchester and attended Eld Lane Baptist Church with his family, where he sang in the choir and first played the organ. He joined the Choir of King's College, Cambridge at the age of eight in response to a newspaper advertisement for voice trials. He then attended Uppingham School and returned to King's in October 2001 as an organ scholar.

Eld was born in Coventry in 1791. He carried on business successively as a miller, a silk dealer, and a dyer; he was also for twenty years editor of the Coventry Standard. He was the last mayor of Coventry (1834-5) before the passing of the Municipal Reform Act, and, besides filling other public offices, an alderman of the reformed corporation till his death. During his mayoralty he restored the interior of the mayoresses' parlour — an architectural relic of the fourteenth century — and throughout his life he preserved local antiquities.

Ken wrote the song "Mamma" about his mother becoming ill and dying of cancer when he was 13 years old; it was his breakthrough song, released in 1999. In the mid 19th century the old manor house was replaced with the present mansion, designed in a Victorian Gothic style by architect Sir George Gilbert Scott. William Holland designed a stained glass window and carved tables as frames for Italian marble slabs. He is well known for establishing a Stained Glass and Decorative works at St. John's, Warwick. Other contributors to the new manor were Marshall and Snelgrove of London, and Eld and Chamberlain, of Midland House, Birmingham relating to the carpets and furnishings that were chosen for the house.

The play was entered into the Stationers' Register on 7 October 1607 by the printer George Eld, and published by him in quarto in the following year, 1608. The title page of Q1 states that A Trick was acted by the Children of Paul's, one of the companies of boy actors popular at the time.

He found an abandoned church on the corner of State and Eld Streets, the present location of St. Stanislaus Parish. By 1911, the property was cleared and the foundation for the present church was laid. On Decoration Day in 1912, Most Reverent John Joseph Nilan, Bishop of Hartford, blessed the cornerstone of the new church, designed in the Polish Cathedral style. The Forgotten Beasts of Eld is a fantasy novel by American writer Patricia A. McKillip, and illustrators Peter Schaumann in 1974, and Alicia Austin in 1981, first published by Atheneum Publishers in 1974, and by Magic Carpet Books in 1996. It is the winner of the 1975 World Fantasy Award. The book centers on the fictional character Sybel, a woman previously cut off from the rest of the fictional world of Eldwold, as she learns to live and love in the world outside of the one she once knew.

Sixteen-year-old Sybel lives alone on a mountain, with only the mythical creatures that her deceased father Ogam summoned for company. Sybel cares for the creatures and shares a type of telepathy with them. However, in the dead of night, a man named Coren of Sirle gives her a baby to care for. Coren believes the baby is none other than the child of Rianna, the now deceased queen of Eld, and her dead lover, Norrel, although it is later revealed that he is the son of Rianna and Drede, king of Eldwold.

The Devil's Charter dates from 1607; it was acted by the King's Men at Court before King James I on Candlemas (2 February) of that year. The play was entered into the Stationers' Register on 16 October 1607, and published before the end of the year, in a quarto printed by George Eld for the bookseller John Wright. Barnes dedicated the play to Sir William Pope and to William Herbert, 3rd Earl of Pembroke. The 1607 quarto is the sole edition of the play prior to the 20th century.

Liddell eventually manages to gather all six sigils and defeat the Eld Witch, but in the process is told that she must become the new "Queen Alice", essentially becoming a prisoner in the underworld. After the credits Liddell is woken by a classmate, causing her to dismiss the prior events as a dream. Cyprian became a Baptist preacher in London, and in 1838 was ordained pastor of the baptist chapel, Eld Lane, Colchester. In 1842 he resigned his pastorate on account of ill health, but remained at Colchester, taking literary and occasional Ministerial work, till 1849. He finally resigned from the Papandreou government along with the other EAMist ministers on December 2, in the lead-up to the Dekemvriana. After EAM's defeat in the Dekemvriana, he was again dismissed from his teaching post at the University. Roland's quest is to find the Dark Tower, a fabled building said to be the nexus of all universes.

Since its establishment in 1912, the Escuela has had as its only mission the teaching of law, breeding from the principles of academic freedom, outside of any form of religiosity, or political ideology. Alumni of this school practice law in the private, as well as in the public sector, in every level of government, in the three branches of government and constitutionally autonomous organisms, and includes among its alumni two Mexican presidents, and former and current Supreme Court members.

To ensure compatibility, 3GPP demands at least AMR-NB codec (narrow band), but the recommended speech codec for VoLTE is Adaptive Multi-Rate Wideband, also known as HD Voice. This codec is mandated in 3GPP networks that support 16 kHz sampling. Fraunhofer IIS has proposed and demonstrated "Full-HD Voice", an implementation of the AAC-ELD (Advanced Audio CodingEnhanced Low Delay) codec for LTE handsets. Where previous cell phone voice codecs only supported frequencies up to 3.5 kHz and upcoming wideband audio services branded as HD Voice up to 7 kHz, Full-HD Voice supports the entire bandwidth range from 20 Hz to 20 kHz.

In 2013 US Fleet Tracking announced the formation of a strategic partnership with AgTrax Technologies, developers of accounting software programs for agri-businesses. The partnership resulted in the integration of AgTrax’s software with US Fleet Tracking’s TotalView system to create an enhanced GPS tracking system that enables real-time monitoring of mobile agricultural equipment. In 2016 US Fleet Tracking established a partnership with Gorilla Safety, a Houston-based company specializing in software for the transportation sector, to create a fully integrated system that combines live GPS tracking with electronic logging features compliant with the Electronic Logging Device (ELD) mandate of the Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA).

Per Ohlin (sometimes called "Pelle") was born in 1969 in Österhaninge, Sweden to parents Anita Forsberg and Felix Ohlin, who divorced soon after his birth. As a young child he suffered from sleep apnea. At the age of ten he suffered internal bleeding when his spleen ruptured after, what he alleged was, an ice skating accident. However, in the Swedish metal book Blod eld död (English: "Blood Fire Death"), his brother Anders Ohlin confessed in an exclusive interview that Dead was frequently bullied in school, and one day he succumbed to a ruptured spleen which was a direct result of a severe beating by bullies.

On 27 August, Singapore went to choose their seventh and newly-elected candidate. About five hours after polls closed, at 1.23am, Tan called Election Department for an Election recount; due to a narrow margin with less than 2% between the top two highest candidates (the other was Tony Tan), ELD approved Tan's request, and vote counting went on for around three hours before the results were finalized. At 4.10am, the final results saw Tan Cheng Bock losing the election marginally to Tony Tan by a 0.35% margin (7,269 votes); Cheng Bock garnered 737,128 (34.85% out of the 2,115,118 valid) votes, while Tony garnered 744,397 votes (35.20%).

The rebuilt church as it appeared in 2015 Mud Bay Indian Shaker Church is the first church built by the Indian Shaker Church. The first Shaker Indian church, also called the "mother church", was built 1885 near Olympia, then the capital of Washington Territory. The structure was built on a shoulder of the Black Hills above Mud Bay, at the southern end of Eld Inlet, an arm of Puget Sound. It was near the homes of Louis "Mud Bay Louie" Yowaluch (aka Mud Bay Louis) and his brother Sam "Mud Bay Sam" Yowaluch, co-founders of the church, first and second "headman"s respectively.

FMCSA rules require that a log book (or ELD) must record for each change of duty status (e.g., the place of reporting for work, or starting to drive), the name of the city, town or village, with state abbreviation. If a change of duty status occurs at a location other than a city, the highway number and nearest milepost or the nearest two intersecting roadways followed by the name of the nearest city must be recorded. In addition to the time grid, a log book must record the date, total miles driven for the day, truck and trailer number, name of carrier, bill of lading number, and the driver's signature.

The equipment on the commercial vehicle or truck can be either the driver's smartphone or an electronic on-board recorder (EOBR) / electronic logging device (ELD). The device is usually mounted on the dashboard of the truck. As a Drivewyze vehicle approaches a participating inspection or weigh station, the device communicates with the Drivewyze server via the cellular phone network and requests a bypass for the vehicle. Information associated with the device is then validated against state-required safety and credentials requirements. Weigh-in-Motion (WIM) technology is also used at some locations to verify the truck’s configuration and ensure its axle and gross vehicle weight are within acceptable limits.

In 1716 Triewald was employed as an inspector at a coal mine in Newcastle, where he studied mechanics and the steam engines used there, and made improvements to them. He returned to Sweden in 1726 and at Dannemora mine and built a steam engine there under the designation "fire and air machine" (eld- och luftmachin in archaic Swedish). This steam engine is believed to be the first steam engine in Sweden that was put to practical and industrial use. In 1728 and 1729 Triewald held lectures in mechanics at the Swedish House of Nobility, and demonstrated a collection of physical instruments that he had bought in England.

Title page of The Revenger's Tragedy The Revenger's Tragedy is an English- language Jacobean revenge tragedy formerly attributed to Cyril Tourneur but now generally recognised as the work of Thomas Middleton. It was performed in 1606, and published in 1607 by George Eld. A vivid and often violent portrayal of lust and ambition in an Italian court, the play typifies the satiric tone and cynicism of much Jacobean tragedy. The play fell out of favour at some point before the restoration of the theaters in 1660; however, it experienced a revival in the twentieth century among directors and playgoers who appreciated its affinity with the temper of modern times.

Bullets were originally manufactured for personal use, using hand made, lathe turned jackets. In 1948 Nosler began to sell the partition bullets commercially, forming Nosler, Inc. Further innovations by Nosler included new techniques of manufacturing bullet jackets that yielded more consistent expansion, better core bonding techniques to prevent separation of the lead core from the copper jacket, and the plastic Ballistic Tip (polymer nose cone) used to provide hollow point bullets a streamlined shape of boat tail Spitzer bullets. Waldrip's company farmed the Olympia oyster found only in South Puget Sound. Justin Taylor, born 1921, the oldest oyster farmer on Puget Sound in the early 2000s, died in 2011. Taylor Shellfish harvests more than of clams annually as of the 2010s;Taylor Shellfish Farms, Food Network, accessed 2017-10-31 30% of the company's sales were in-shell oysters as of 2005. As of the late 1990s the company was one of the top ten employers in Mason County, Washington, and farmed oyster beds at their Oakland Bay headquarters and elsewhere around Hood Canal and Puget Sound including Totten Inlet (Oyster Bay), Eld Inlet, Samish Bay, Willapa Bay, and Whidbey Island.

The game's plot is set within several different worlds, many of which are loosely based upon various fictional characters and stories such as The Little Mermaid, The Wizard of Oz, and Alice in Wonderland. Thousands of years prior to the start of the game, powerful witches existed below the surface of the earth in a world that was filled with darkness and decay. The Blammor, whom Sybel held on condition of her fearlessness, comes to Sybel in the night, and she sees in her mind, the Liralen with its neck broken. Sybel flees to the now deserted Eld Mountain and sets all the creatures free. They choose to lure Drede and his army, and the Sirle lords and their army, away from each other, thus defusing the war (although it is unknown at the end of the book whether the lords and armies will return, other than Coren). Tamlorn wakes Sybel up and tells her that Drede had died, that he thinks that whatever killed the wizard Mithran also killed Drede, and he is now king of Eldwold.

Not able to share his history, Kvothe argues with Denna about the song's meaning and the two part ways after an ugly fight. As a final task, the Maer charges Kvothe with hunting a group of bandits that have been waylaying taxmen in The Eld. He is accompanied by a crew of four other mercenaries as they track and confront the bandits; Kvothe cleverly employs his knowledge of sympathy and a bit of luck to swiftly and efficiently rout the bandits, killing most of them, though their leader escapes mysteriously. Kvothe then follows the nymph-like Felurian, a being of the Fae, into her own realm, where he stays for an indeterminable time as time passes differently in this realm.

The Alliance of Liberals and Democrats for Europe Party (ALDE Party) is a European political party composed of 60 national-level liberal parties from across Europe, mainly active in the European Union. On 26 March 1976, it was founded in Stuttgart as a confederation of national political parties under the name Federation of Liberal and Democrat Parties in Europe and renamed European Liberals and Democrats (ELD) in 1977 and European Liberal Democrats and Reformists (ELDR) in 1986. On 30 April 2004, the ELDR was reformed as an official European party, the European Liberal Democrat and Reform Party (ELDR Party). The ALDE Party is affiliated with the Liberal International and a recognised European political party, incorporated as a non-profit association under Belgian law.

What You Will is a late Elizabethan comedy by John Marston, written in 1601 and probably performed by the Children of Paul's, one of the companies of boy actors popular in that period. The play was entered into the Stationers' Register on 6 August 1607, and was published later that year in a quarto printed by George Eld for the bookseller Thomas Thorpe. Inconsistencies in the names of the characters suggest that the play was revised between its stage premier in 1601 and its publication in 1607. The Induction that precedes the text mentions a small sized stage and candles for illumination, details that verify that the play was acted in a smaller "private" theatre rather than a large "public" one like the Globe or the Fortune.

The closing also includes Hyndman Transport, that ends 82 years of operation and Jaguar Transportation, but does not include the division of Taylor Express in Hope Mills, North Carolina that is planned to be sold. Celadon sent messages to the drivers (by ELD messaging) that the company was closing and that everyone that delivered loads and followed directions to return equipment would be compensated.

For overseas voting (which was held in ten cities, Dubai, London, Tokyo, Beijing, Washington D.C., Hong Kong, Shanghai, San Francisco, New York City and Canberra), voting was subject to the approval of the authorities in the affected countries, while ELD announced that they would release the arrangements for returning Singaporeans who are issued a mandatory 14-day stay home notice to vote in hotels and reducing the risk of infecting others. These arrangements were later officially announced on 1 July, when the Singapore government announced that special polling stations will be set up in Marina Bay Sands and JW Marriott Hotel Singapore South Beach to accommodate voters serving their stay-home notices in the two hotels. 350 voters who are quarantined at the time did not vote as they are not allowed to leave their place where they were currently isolated to cast their vote.

There have long been truck driver and trucking industry members concerns over the scoring, the bias, especially to smaller carriers according to a General Accountability Office report, associated with the scoring when non-preventable accidents are included, the public posting of the scoring, and a lack of state mandatory procedures ensuring that a citation that was not prosecuted, or that ended favorably for the driver or carrier, was retracted from the national database because it is flawed, artificially raising the driver or carrier scores, and the insurance industry uses these scores to assess risks on insurance. The FMCSA had released a report that the CSA scoring works. The hours of service rules has been changed several times since 2010 and is a concern to carriers and drivers. With the new electronic logging device (ELD) rules that became mandatory on December 18, 2017, for carriers subjected to the RODS rules, more issues have resulted.

In 1917 he went through a religious revival, which came out in his novels Huset med de gamla fröknarna (5th edition, 1919), Såsom genom eld (5th edition, 1920), Bryggan håller (1923), and Personlig frälsning (1924).

A 1616 edition in folio features Jonson's Epistle to Lord Aubigny, in which the dramatist again indicates that Sejanus was a flop when staged at the Globe Theatre.

The film combines elements from several novels in The Dark Tower series, serving as a canonical sequel to the novel series, which concluded with the revelation that Roland's quest was a cyclical time loop; the presence of the Horn of Eld, which Roland carries in the film, indicates that this is the next cycle. Stephen King has indicated that The Dark Tower film and television series will follow Roland's "last time round" to the titular Dark Tower. The brow-antlered deer, which was first discovered in Manipur in 1839 and named Cervus eldi eldi in 1844 in honour of Lt. Percy Eld - a British officer, was reported an extinct species in 1951. It was re-discovered in the Keibul Lamjao Park area by the environmentalist and photographer E.P. Gee, which necessitated declaring this reserve park area as a national park to protect and conserve the deer now called Eld's deer's subspecies brow-antlered deer (Cervus eldi eldi) or Sangai in Meitei language (to distinguish it from the other two subspecies found in Burma and Thailand that are called Cervus eldii thamin and Cervus eldii siamensis and also in Cambodia, China, Laos, Thailand, Vietnam and Hainan Island). It has a pride of place in the folklore and culture of the Manipur state and is the state animal of Manipur. From a small herd of 14 deer in 1975, its population was reportedly 155 in 1995 and as per the latest wildlife census conducted in March, April 2016 its number rise to 260.

At the September 9, 1899 church council meeting in Krugersdorp, Rev. Postma and Eld. S. Potgieter agreed to consider the “extraordinary local conditions in light of the war between England and these Republics” while planning communion services for the second Sunday in October. According to the notes, “the pastor also proposed home visits for October, but the Church Council rendered this impractical.” At the December 2, 1899 meeting, half the council was absent as were “many of the brethren” in the congregation on the battlefield. The notes started in article 2 that “the pastor expounded on the war that had broken out in the month of October between England and the two Republics – the South African Republic and the Orange Free State.” The council decided to have congregation members appointed to serve in the stead of enlisted councilors. However, these could rarely be secured, and there would be no meetings between March 30, 1900 and November 8, 1901, while the Rev. Postma would not return until June 2, 1903.
