An erratum or corrigendum (plurals: errata, corrigenda) (comes from ) is a correction of a published text. As a general rule, publishers issue an erratum for a production error (i.e., an error introduced during the publishing process) and a corrigendum for an author's error. An erratum is most commonly issued shortly after its original text is published.

Versions of the Unicode standard from 3.1.0 to 6.3.0 claimed that noncharacters "should never be interchanged". The Hydrobatinae, or northern storm petrels, were the two genera Hydrobates and Oceanodroma. They were largely restricted to the Northern Hemisphere, although a few could visit or breed a short distance beyond the Equator. Cytochrome b DNA sequence analysis suggests that the family was paraphyletic and more accurately treated as distinct families. Liancalus Loew, 1857 is a replacement name for Anoplomerus Rondani, 1856, which was preoccupied by a beetle genus. However, the name Liancalus is threatened by a change in type species of Anoplomerus from "Hydrophorus Regius Fabr." (now Liancalus virens (Scopoli, 1763)) to "Hydrophorus Notatus Meig." (now Scellus notatus (Fabricius, 1781)), made in an overlooked unpaginated corrigendum on the last page of Rondani, 1856, which would make Liancalus a synonym of Scellus.

In 1995, they made a corrigendum recommending it be split off into a separate genus, Ardipithecus; the name stems from Afar ardi "ground" or "floor". The 4.4 million year old female ARA-VP 6/500 ("Ardi") is the most complete specimen. Fossils from at least nine A. ramidus individuals at As Duma, Gona Western Margin, Afar, were unearthed from 1993–2003. The fossils were dated to between 4.32 and 4.51 million years ago.

In 2008, Sesardić published the paper "Guilt by Statistical Association: Revisiting the Prosecutor's Fallacy and the Interrogator's Fallacy" in the Journal of Philosophy under the pseudonym "Carmen de Macedo". He revealed that this was a pseudonym, and that he was the true author, in a 2011 Inside Higher Education article. After philosopher M. V. Dougherty wrote to the Journal, they published a corrigendum in 2017 acknowledging that de Macedo's name was a pseudonym, and that Sesardić was the actual author.

A 1999 analysis concluded that biomass production in a given plant scaled with the power of the plant's mass during the plant's growth, Corrigendum published 7 December 2000. but a 2001 paper that included various types of unicellular photosynthetic organisms found scaling exponents intermediate between 0.75 and 1.00. A 2006 paper in Nature argued that the exponent of mass is close to 1 for plant seedlings, but that variation between species, phyla, and growth conditions overwhelm any "Kleiber's law"-like effects. The publishers of The Real Global Warming Disaster, The Continuum International Publishing Group, apologised for the reference to that quotation, confirmed (in addition to Booker's confirmation) that it will not be repeated, and agreed to place a corrigendum in any further copies of the book. In an article which appeared in The Sunday Telegraph on 20 February 2010, Christopher Booker purported to correct the misquotation contained in The Real Global Warming Disaster but this article contained yet further inaccuracies. As a result, Houghton referred the matter to the Press Complaints Commission (PCC Reference 101959). Following the PCC's involvement, The Sunday Telegraph published on 15 August 2010 a letter of correction by Houghton stating his true position.

The first edition of the Red Book was released in 1980 by Philips and Sony; it was adopted by the Digital Audio Disc Committee and ratified by the International Electrotechnical Commission (IEC) Technical Committee 100, as an international standard in 1987 with the reference IEC 60908. Egnatius Proculus was a member of the second and third century gens Egnatia, and it has been speculated that he was the son of Aulus Egnatius Priscillianus, a Roman philosopher. The book opens with an incorrect quotation which wrongly attributes to John T. Houghton the words "Unless we announce disasters, no one will listen". The publishers apologised for this misquotation, confirmed that it would not be repeated, and agreed to place a corrigendum in any further copies of the book. In an article which appeared in The Sunday Telegraph on 20 February 2010, Booker wrote "we shall all in due course take steps to correct the record, as I shall do in the next edition of my book". Houghton felt that Booker continued to misstate his position regarding the role of disasters in policy making, and he referred the matter to the Press Complaints Commission (PCC Reference 101959), following whose involvement The Sunday Telegraph published on 15 August a letter of correction by Houghton stating his actual position, that adverse events shock people and thereby bring about change.

In September 2014, German publisher De Gruyter announced that the article published in their journal, one of two which qualified Mali for the title, contains uncited paragraphs from the doctoral dissertation of Stifanos Hailemariam, a professor and economist from Eritrea, titled Corporate Value Creation, Governance and Privatisation: Restructuring and Managing Enterprises in Transition – The Case of Eritrea, defended at the University of Groningen in The Netherlands, in 2001. On 20 January 2015, Simon Cifert, editor-in-chief of the journal "Organization and Management" which published the scientific work of Siniša Mali, retracted Mali's text from the journal. After revision of the text submitted by the lead co-author, the editorial board of the journal republished the above-mentioned study, with an introductory note Corrigendum, citing another source from the literature used in the design of the study, which was claimed by the co-author to be a technical mistake in the previous version. 13 citations of Hailemariam were added, unlike the previous work which had no quotes by him at all.
