In the 1990s Esme Kirby established a low level walk along the length of the valley, starting from and returning to Capel Curig, via Gelli, which used to be the stagecoach Inn before becoming the Capel Curig Hotel, again changing its name to the Royal Inn around 1870. It is now Plas y Brenin, the National Mountain Centre in Wales. The "Heritage Walk", produced by the "Friends of St. Julitta's Church" in Capel Curig, circumnavigates the whole village and takes about 3 hours.

The Around the Bay Road Race circumnavigates Hamilton Harbour or Burlington Bay. Although it is not a proper marathon, it is the longest continuously held long distance foot race in North America, held in Hamilton since 1894, 3-years before the Boston Marathon. The local newspaper, Hamilton Spectator has also hosted the amateur Spectator Indoor Games.

During the semester the ship circumnavigates the globe, traveling from North America east (across the Atlantic) or west (across the Pacific) and visiting 10 to 11 countries in Asia, Africa, Europe, South America, and North America. Although the program had voyages through the Mediterranean and the Suez Canal, piracy concerns in the Gulf of Aden have changed a typical voyage to around Africa. ISE had hosted a summer, 65-day Semester at Sea program which focused on one region of the world. In May 2011, SaS introduced a 26-day Maymester voyage with a curriculum based around the United Nations' Millennium Development Goals.

S/Y Argo was designed by Bill Langan as an inspiration of the schooner Black Douglas (now rechristened El Boughaz I). The motivation and backing for the project came from the success experienced by Seamester's smaller schooner Ocean Star. She was completed in June 2006 in Samut Prakan, Thailand at Marsun Shipyards. Argo is a two-masted staysail schooner that measures overall and accommodates twenty six students and seven professional crew on ocean voyages. Sailing under the Seamester flag, Argo circumnavigates on 90-day college semester-based programs and shorter 21-day and 60-day programs during the northern hemisphere summer.

The Cap d'Artrutx is a cape or headland at the extreme south-western point of the island, which gives it name to the surrounding urbanisation made up of modern villas and apartments. Located adjacent to the larger resort of Cala en Bosch which lies to the east, it is connected to the rest of the island by the Me 24 road. The area is also served by a regular bus service to the nearby town of Ciutadella. The Camí de Cavalls a long distance footpath that circumnavigates the island, passes along the coast to the cape.

The New York Times Company utilizes an underfloor air distribution system (UFAD) which strives for better indoor air quality, thermal comfort as well as energy saving. The ', alternately called the ', is a collection of hiking trails starting and ending at “Umenoki Daira” located along National Route 20 at the foothills of Mount Takao in Hachiōji, Tokyo, Japan. It circumnavigates the entire Kantō Region through Mount Takao, Okutama, Chichibu, Mount Myōgi, Mount Taihei, Mount Tsukuba, Kasumigaura, Kujūkuri Beach, Bōsō, Miura Peninsula, and Tanzawa, stretching about 1,800 km. The 160 routes are laid out to cover natural scenery and pastoral landscapes, as well as cultural and historical sites. Each course, lasting roughly 10 km, links two points accessible by public transportation but does not necessarily connect to the next route.

A relay of pulses that circumnavigates the Earth, verifying precise synchronization, is also recognized as a case requiring correction for the Sagnac effect. In 1984 a verification was set up that involved three ground stations and several GPS satellites, with relays of signals both going eastward and westward around the world. In the case of a Sagnac interferometer a measure of difference in arrival time is obtained by producing interference fringes, and observing the fringe shift. In the case of a relay of pulses around the world the difference in arrival time is obtained directly from the actual arrival time of the pulses.

Those restructurings raised the squadron's ship tally to 29 and caused NavSurfGru Norfolk's ranks to number 43 ships. DesRon 2 began its 1996 training in May, when the squadron cruised to the Puerto Rican Operations area for INDEX 96-2 and Naval Gunfire Support qualification. After successful training exercises, deployed in July for a two-and-a-half month UNITAS 37–96 missions, in which an American task group circumnavigates South America while conducting joint exercises with host- nation navies along the route. Following its UNITAS deployment, DesRon 2 spent the rest of 1996 at Norfolk.

Primrose Crescent, a main thoroughfare which, upon merging from Tulloch Road, circumnavigates Tulloch's oldest residential area before joining up with Tulloch Road again just before its western junction with Crieff Road. The skyline is dominated by several high-rise flats (one of which is in view in the background of the infobox image). In addition to the new housing development in the north-east of Tulloch, homes have also been built to the north and west. These are in addition to the first development (Sandeman Court) that went up in the 1980s in the valley behind the primary school, near the railway siding at the bottom of the hill.

Anna Jean Cummings Park is a park located in unincorporated Santa Cruz County, at 461 Old San Jose Road, Soquel, California, that opened in the summer of 2001 on the former O'Neill Ranch. Its nickname is "Blue Balls Park" for the art installation of "Skyballs" by Steve Gillman and Katherine Keefer, a series of four sky-blue 8-foot diameter spheres that appear to roll down the coastal prairie terrace. The lower bench has a lawn, picnic pavilion, playground, and restrooms. The upper bench has natural turf baseball/softball diamonds and soccer fields, more restrooms, and a walking/jogging path that circumnavigates the playfields.

This race is open to the public, and typically includes singles and doubles, and plastic and wooden boats alike. The race courses vary from year to year, but there is typically a "long course" which starts at Aquatic Park and circumnavigates the south tower of the Golden Gate Bridge and the westernmost tower San Francisco–Oakland Bay Bridge, as well as a "short course" from Aquatic Park around the Bay Bridge tower and back. The South End also hosts a yearly competitive swim from Alcatraz Island in San Francisco bay to the Aquatic Park, which is open to the public. The event is limited to 600 swimmers and reaches its capacity for registration months in advance.

Now, Australian instrumental surf rock band, The Break (which includes Midnight Oil members: drummer Rob Hirst and guitarists Jim Moginie and Martin Rotsey, Violent Femmes bassist Brian Ritchie and Hunters and Collectors trumpet player, Jack Howard) play the song regularly in their shows, being an inaugural part of Midnight Oil's history of wanting to do instrumental surf rock music. A sporting event held in November and April annually, organised by the Coogee Surf Life Saving Club, is an swim from Coogee Beach which circumnavigates the Wedding Cake Island.

Exposed on the steep canyon eastern slopes of the Santa Cruz Mountains, Sanborn County Park has one of the coolest summer climates of Santa Clara County's parks. Towering redwood forests add to this eastern slope exposure in keeping hiking trails comfortable in the heavy use period, from June to September; moreover, there are abundant mixed forest locales having Coast live oak, Pacific madrone, Big leaf maple and Tanbark oak. The park features the first segment of the regional Bay Area Ridge Trail in Santa Clara County, which extends along the ridge of the Santa Cruz Mountains to become the Skyline-to-the-Sea Trail, which continues to the Pacific Ocean. This Bay Area Ridge Trail ultimately circumnavigates the entire Bay Area at a length of .

This inlet is screened from the open waters of Lake Superior by a number of offshore islands, including Mott Island, the site of the park headquarters. Travel to Rock Harbor from the Upper Peninsula of Michigan is by the Ranger III park service ferry, operating from Houghton, Michigan, the Isle Royale Queen IV out of Copper Harbor, Michigan, and seaplane service. The Voyageur II operates out of Grand Portage, Minnesota; it circumnavigates the island with stops at Windigo Ranger Station in Washington Harbor on the west end of the island and other points along the shore.; The ferry boats land at Snug Harbor, which also has berths for private watercraft, a campground, the visitor center, and a lodge that predates the national park.

The route has a total climb of 237 metres with an average climb rate of 18 metres per mile. Taking this into account, this route is equivalent to running approximately on the flat. The course circumnavigates the ancient town of Hastings, starting at the Seafront and following the route of William the Conqueror towards Battle, East Sussex, around the back of the town and down to the famous 'Old Town' and fishing village of Hastings, then back along the three-mile (5 km) seafront back to where it started. Although tough for the first part of the course, runners have produced some very fast times and PBs, as the last two-thirds is flat or downhill, and then the finish on the promenade.

Church Marsh Nature Reserve in early May 2009 The pool within the reserve Surlingham Church Marsh is a small RSPB nature reserve in the Norfolk Broads, England. It is part of Yare Broads and Marshes Site of Special Scientific Interest Situated north of the village of Surlingham and south of the River Yare, it comprises 68 acres (28 hectares) of mixed wetland habitat including shallow open water, dykes, reed and sedge fen, and small areas of willow carr, as well as deciduous woodland on the southern margin of the reserve. A footpath of about 1¼ miles circumnavigates the reserve from Surlingham Church, down and along the river Yare and a hide overlooks a shallow pool within the reserve. There is a no fishing policy on the river bank within the reserve.

On March 31, 2010, 16-year-old Abby Sunderland became the youngest person to single-handedly sail around Cape Horn in her attempt to circumnavigate the globe. In 1987 The British Cape Horn Expedition, headed by Nigel H. Seymour, rounded Cape Horn in the world's first ever 'sailing kayaks' called 'Kaymaran' two sea going kayaks which could link together with two sails mountable in any four of the sailing positions between the two kayaks. Today, there are several major yacht races held regularly along the old clipper route via Cape Horn. The first of these was the Sunday Times Golden Globe Race, which was a single-handed race; this inspired the present-day Around Alone race, which circumnavigates with stops, and the Vendée Globe, which is non-stop.

Two other songs originally intended for Gene Tryp were also included on the studio half of (Untitled): "All the Things", which included an uncredited appearance by former Byrd Gram Parsons on backing vocals, and "Just a Season", which was written for a scene in which the eponymous hero of the musical circumnavigates the globe. Lyrically, "Just a Season" touches on a variety of different subjects, including reincarnation, life's journey, fleeting romantic encounters and finally, stardom, as touchingly illustrated by the semi-autobiographical line, "It really wasn't hard to be a star." The album also includes the song "Hungry Planet", which was written by Battin and record producer, songwriter, and impresario Kim Fowley.

A 5K (five kilometre) park run takes place every week in which part of the course circumnavigates the whole of Tilgate lake. Up to 300 runners take part in the run and the event has been in progress since 9 June 2013. The record fastest times run by a male have been Neil Boniface in 15 minutes 39 seconds on 21 Sept 2013, Nick Duggan 15 minutes 38 seconds on 26 July 2014. Neil Boniface again in 15 minutes 32 seconds on 21 June 2014, and then by James Westlake of 15 minutes and 31 seconds on 15 July 2017, the best ever time was run by James Westlake on 14 April 2018, and is the current record (to 2020) of 15 minutes and 13 seconds. In the ladies, Fiona Clark set the pace with 18 minutes 14 seconds on 16 June 2012, which was beaten by Hannah Brooks setting the best ever ladies time (to 2020) of 17 minutes 50 seconds on 29 September 2012.

Chesil Beach and Fortuneswell, looking north from the Isle of Portland Across the Dorset border, the Coast Path runs through the town of Lyme Regis where the Cobb breakwater was seen in the film The French Lieutenant's Woman and features on the film's poster. Further east, where it shares its route with the Monarch's Way, the path passes through Charmouth, up Golden Cap (the highest point on the south coast), and on through West Bay (near Bridport), to Burton Bradstock at the start of Chesil Beach, an tombolo. At Abbotsbury, the path leaves Chesil beach to follow the shores of the Fleet lagoon, until it reaches the terminus of Chesil beach next to the villages of Fortuneswell and Chiswell on the Isle of Portland. The path circumnavigates the Isle of Portland, passing the lighthouses at Portland Bill and the Weymouth and Portland National Sailing Academy in Chiswell, and returns across Chesil beach to Wyke Regis (encompassing the Rodwell Trail) and along the shores of Portland Harbour to the Nothe Fort in the resort of Weymouth.

Founded by Terra-Lynn Coggan in 2003 following the stillbirth of her nephew Riley Joseph, and officially established in 2004, Lights of Love International Wave of Light is a Bear Care Campaign initiative and the official Wave of Light of Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month and Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day, respectively. The International Wave of Light invites baby loss families, friends, loved ones and supporting organizations from around the world to join in honor and remembrance of all loved and longed for babies gone too soon on October 15 at 7:00 pm in all time zones. Lighting begins at the International Dateline, on Christmas Island in the first time zone, illuminations and candles remain lit a period of at least one hour, with the next time zone lighting respectively, moving through each time zone as the Wave of Light circumnavigates the globe. The result is a continuous chain of light encompassing and spanning across the world and around the globe for a 24-hour period, illuminating the night in love and light in honor and remembrance of all babies gone too soon.
