Typical of Attell's style, he had the best of the infighting. He was reviewed by the Pittsburgh Daily Post as having cleaner, more telling blows, and though he allowed Brannigan to do most of the leading in the bout, he countered effectively and the blows he landed were harder than his opponents.

As he wanders, he finds the stranded Leela, at which point V-Giny appears on Earth, and in a bargain made between it and the Planet Express crew, agrees to spare the planet if "Adam" (Brannigan) and "Eve" (Leela) consummate their relationship. V-Giny states that it is "approved for all audiences" and leaves Earth.

Concerned for her friends' safety, Leela attempts to enlist, but she is unable to do so with the Army's men-only policy. Leela sneaks aboard the Nimbus disguised as a man under the name of Lee Lemon, and Brannigan finds himself attracted to this new soldier.

The Axemen is a New Zealand band formed in 1983. They played at the protests for homosexual law reform in 1983, with member Little Stevie McCabe being severely beaten up in the Christchurch Cathedral Square toilets. Robert Patrick Brannigan (18 October 1918 – 4 March 1997) was an Irish hurler who played for Kilkenny Senior Championship club James Stephens. He played for the Kilkenny senior hurling team on a number of occasions, during which time he usually lined out as a left wing-forward.

After the student body scatters from the scene, Corey begins cleaning up. Outside his house, he accidentally interrupts Michael and Tiffany kissing. Ms. Brannigan returns to fetch her sweater. Lieutenant Kif Kroker (voiced by Maurice LaMarche) is the long-suffering assistant to Captain Zapp Brannigan, and Fourth Lieutenant on the Democratic Order of Planets (DOOP) starship Nimbus. Kif is a short and thin green-skinned alien from the planet Amphibios 9. His frustration with Brannigan's arrogance and general incompetence in Season 1 leads him to be a disaffected, indifferent, sardonic lackey, although his personality develops through the course of the series, becoming more emotional, tender and sweet- natured later on. Zapp thinks Kif to be his best friend and loyal confidant, whereas Kif sees Brannigan as an incompetent buffoon, going so far as to call him a jackass in "Love's Labours Lost in Space".

The Futurama universe has a cooperative interplanetary organization known as the Democratic Order of Planets or D.O.O.P.. "Love's Labours Lost in Space" is the fourth episode in season one of Futurama. It originally aired on the Fox network in the United States on April 13, 1999. The episode was written by Brian Kelley and directed by Brian Sheesley. This episode introduces the recurring character Zapp Brannigan when he attempts to prevent the Planet Express crew from completing their mission.

Kenny Brannigan was a journeyman professional with a career spanning 21 seasons. The Gasworks, Products Works and Alps were used as a location for TV and cinema filming on a number of occasions. In the 1960s comedy films and TV programmes, such as Michael Bentine’s It's a Square World, were shot here. The mounds of chemical waste were used to portray mountaineering scenes. In 1975 the film Brannigan starring John Wayne used the location.

Zapp Brannigan boards the Planet Express Ship and holds a court- martial of the occupants for trespassing on Omega 3. Leela points out that while the court-martial is in progress, Melllvar is still chasing them. Fry convinces Melllvar that he cannot spend his life watching Star Trek, and Melllvar agrees to end the chase, allowing the crew and cast return to Earth.

An American newspaper speculated that his downfall was connected to another indiscreet photograph of the Prince of Wales, showing the Prince dressed in a woman's kimono and wig after appearing in a play; however, this photograph was taken and published in October, during the Prince's return from a trip to South America, well after Brooks had departed. In 1926, he filed for bankruptcy. The Amazons first appear in "Brannigan Begin Again" but first feature in "Amazon Women in the Mood" when Zapp, Leela, Amy and Kif are stranded on their planet. The Amazons are primitives who live in huts, and they are ruled by a female computer called "Femputer" (voiced by Bea Arthur). Femputer is revealed to be a fembot operating the giant computer facade from a small control room.

There are many recordings available, including two conducted by the composer, one a live recording of the 11 June 1960 premiere with the complete original cast, the second a studio recording made in 1967 with some of the original cast, Deller as Oberon, Owen Brannigan as Bottom, and Peter Pears elevated from Flute to Lysander, which omits some music from the lovers' awakening early in act 3.

Branningan circa 1960 Owen Brannigan OBE (10 March 19089 May 1973) was an English bass, known in opera for buffo roles and in concert for a wide range of solo parts in music ranging from Henry Purcell to Michael Tippett. He is best remembered for his roles in Mozart and Britten operas and for his recordings of roles in Britten, Offenbach and Gilbert and Sullivan operas, as well as recordings of English folk songs. When the crew is sent to deliver a giant pill to a planet near where Kif is stationed, Amy stows away on board the Planet Express Ship. While the crew is asleep, Amy changes course to meet with Kif. When Zapp Brannigan sees the ship, the Planet Express crew joins him on the Nimbus.

The Docks stood in for Venetian waterways during the boat-chase scene in Indiana Jones and the Last Crusade; and scenes from Batman Begins were also filmed there, as was a scene in the 2004 Jude Law film Alfie. What a Dummy is a syndicated television sitcom that lasted for one season in 1990 until 1991. The premise of the show was that the Brannigan family of Secaucus, New Jersey was getting advice from a talking, thinking ventriloquist's dummy named Buzz (voiced by Loren Freeman), who had been locked in a trunk for fifty years before being discovered by the family. Kaye Ballard played the family's next-door neighbor, Mrs. Treva Travalony.

She made guest appearances on The Millionaire (1957), Public Defender (1954), Brothers Brannigan (1960), The 20th Century Fox Hour (1956), and Climax Mystery Theater (1955). In 1951, Ruick was signed by MGM for a role in the film Invitation (1952). She had bit parts in her first four films, one of them being The Band Wagon (1953), and then graduated to supporting roles. After realizing the trick, and after Ndnd eats the orangutan, Lrrr demands the real Leela. With Leela in Lrrr's mouth, the small Omicronian, Jrrr, whom Leela had been nannying since birth, arrives.

Fry, Leela, and Bender hand their resignations to Professor Farnsworth after narrowly escaping another delivery with their lives, but reconsider when he announces that the Planet Express team will take a cruise on the maiden voyage of the largest space cruise ship ever built: the Titanic. As they board they are stopped by Zapp Brannigan, the ship's honorary captain. Attempting to avoid Brannigan's advances, Leela claims she is engaged to Fry. Bender meets the robot Countess de la Roca.

However, Hermes and LaBarbara begin to miss the feeling of physical intimacy and demand the alien to restore their genders. The alien attempts to do so, but inadvertently switches their genders. Before the alien can fix its mistake, it is vaporized by Zapp Brannigan. Back at Planet Express, Leela and Amy take advantage of the contract clause to force the men- turned-women to pose for the calendar, and enough calendars are sold to save the business.

His final appearance on the show, the season ten episode "Bart the Mother", is dedicated to him, as is his final film, Small Soldiers. At the time of his death, Hartman was preparing to voice Zapp Brannigan, a character written specifically for him on Groening's second animated series Futurama. Even though the role was specifically made for him, Hartman still insisted on auditioning and Groening said he "nailed it". After Hartman's death, Billy West took over the role.

Adjusting to his marital status, Stanley changes his Bash Brannigan comic strip from the exploits of a secret agent to a household comedy, The Brannigans, again drawing from his real life. Big Jim McLain is a 1952 political thriller film starring John Wayne and James Arness as HUAC investigators hunting down communists in the postwar Hawaii organized-labor scene. Edward Ludwig directed. This was the first film in which Wayne played a contemporary law enforcement officer, instead of an Old West lawman. Near the end of his career, in the mid-1970s, he took on two more such roles, (Brannigan and McQ), each time playing an urban cop.

In November 2019 Richard Carberry arrived at his home around 11:40pm and was shot by a gunman. Gardaí regarded him as a drug dealer who had supplied one side in the feud and one line of inquiry is that he may have been killed by the same side of the feud that murdered Brannigan. He had survived a previous murder attempt the previous March and he had been formally warned by Gardaí that his life was in danger.

The episode opens with Fry walking into Professor Farnsworth's laboratory, asking why he is covered in severe burns. The Professor explains that when the crew entered a wormhole at the end of Into the Wild Green Yonder, they emerged near Earth. Zapp Brannigan also emerged from the wormhole aboard the Nimbus flagship and damaged the Planet Express Ship, causing both ships to crash. Having survived the crash, the Professor revives everyone killed in the crash using a "birth machine" filled with stem cells.

Trumbo began working as a television and film screenwriter in 1967. Trumbo co-wrote the film The Don Is Dead (1973), starring Anthony Quinn, as well as the John Wayne film Brannigan (1975). It is said that he composed his first tune, a hymn, at the age of thirteen and he entered it in a local competition, and won himself a prize. He became a school teacher, teaching first up in north Northumberland, after which he became headmaster at Backworth Board School.

Leary was elected by receiving 1,639 votes or 31.0% of the votes with a majority of 233 votes or 4.4% over Marton ward councillor Andy Watson. He was re-elected unopposed in 2010. Ingolf Vogeler, a mercenary from the Republic of Richland arrives in Mackenzie lands in the Willamette River region of Oregon. He is being stalked by soldiers from the Church Universal and Triumphant (known as Cutters), which is located in Paradise Valley, Montana, and controls parts of Montana and Wyoming. Ingolf arrives in a tavern run by Tom Brannigan, and during the night, is attacked by these soldiers. As he is attacked, Rudi Mackenzie, Mathilda Arminger, Odard Liu, and the twins Ritva and Mary Havel join the fray.

Inspector Warren of Scotland Yard flies into Jamaica and is taken to the headquarters of the Jamaica Constabulary Force. Exchanging credentials with a Jamaican Inspector, Warren reveals he has come to seek the extradition of a wanted criminal known as "The Professor". Surprised when the Inspector refuses to extradite the Professor, the Jamaican Inspector recounts a story told in flashback. Devil may care adventurer Brannigan has won the ship Manfish and its first mate Swede in a poker game but keeps away from the Manfish's creditors.

During the 2010–2012 term in the legislature, Haskell served as the ranking House Democrat on the legislature's Criminal Justice and Public Safety Committee. It originally aired directly after "Rebirth" on June 24, 2010 on Comedy Central.Countdown to Futurama: First Look at the Second New Episode In the episode, Zapp Brannigan and Leela end up on a Garden of Eden-like world after fighting a planet-destroying satellite called V-Giny. The episode was written by Carolyn Premish, who created the story for the episode with Futurama creator Matt Groening.

The pilot and premiere episode, "Brannigan's Boots", aired on September 17, 1957. In the story line, Tom Brewster is appointed the sheriff of the town of Bluerock by politicians who believe his apparent lack of cowboy skills will render him unable to maintain order after the murder of Sheriff Brannigan. Brewster takes the appointment seriously and symbolically puts on a pair of boots left behind in the sheriff's office. Brannigan's daughter, Katie (played by Merry Anders), sees Brewster wearing her father's boots and calls him a "sugarfoot".

In the year 3000, the crew of the Planet Express delivery company make cargo shipments to unusual planets, as well as having adventures back on Earth. The main characters include Philip J. Fry, a slacker from the 20th century who was cryogenically frozen for 1,000 years, cycloptic ship captain Leela, and an alcohol-fueled, troublemaking robot Bender. The comic will often make more use of supporting or minor characters than the series, such as Zapp Brannigan, Cubert Farnsworth, the Robot Devil and Inez Wong.

Animator Gregg Vanzo notes that the artists also had initial difficulties drawing facial expressions and moods for Leela because of her single eye. Leela's usual clothing consists of a low-cut white tank top, leggings and boots. Groening intended Leela to be portrayed as attractive and sexy, but had to instruct the animators to de- emphasize exaggerated aspects of their original design that were too "racy". However, Leela is still considered attractive and sexy, even beautiful by several such as Fry and Zapp Brannigan.

Tribbles have been parodied in a variety of other television shows and types of media. Futurama featured a parody in the second season entitled "The Problem with Popplers", which included several Star Trek jokes. These include a reference to "Roddenberries" and features Zapp Brannigan, whom the Futurama staff have said is intended to be a parody of Captain Kirk. In 2000, a Drosophila (fruit fly) gene that blocks cell division was named tribbles () after the small, woolly, tribble-like cells with mutations in this gene.

Bob Brannigan declined an invitation to join the band on this tour, due to irreconcilable differences with Steve McCabe. Originally the band were to headline a festival in Wandella, South New South Wales, but due to bureaucratic red tape, this festival was cancelled. The organiser Samuel Miers then proceeded to book the Axemen into 10 dates starting at Brisbane, and ending in Adelaide on 23 December. Midway during the Australian tour Steve McCabe's shoulder was fractured after he was attacked by a wild Australian punter.

The police arrive too late to make any arrests, but Lieutenant Brannigan finds the absence of Sarah and the other Save a Soul members too convenient to have been a coincidence. He implies that it was all Sky's doing. Sarah is equally suspicious that Sky has had something to do with organizing the crap game at the Mission and she angrily takes her leave of him, refusing to accept his denials. Sky still has to make good his arrangement with Sarah to provide sinners to the Mission.

Darth Vader reveals himself as Michael. Corey wakes in a cold sweat ("Glory of love") Halfway through the school year, a new girl by the name of Eileen Reagan comes to the school. She is taunted by Cyndi for liking the band Air Supply, but is fast friends with Laura and Debbie, who lie about their multiple boyfriends, telling Eileen that they are on "business" in Miami ("Let's Hear It For The Boy"). After class, Mr. Cocker surprises Ms. Brannigan with flowers for their one-year anniversary.

Michael shows up in his new car, along with Huey, Billy and Lionel. Corey tries to compete with Michael's new car with his two-seater bike, but to no avail ("Get Outta My Dreams (Get Into My Car)"). Before class, Ms. Brannigan attempts to talk to Mr. Cocker because she misses him, but Mr. Cocker cannot get over the magazine incident. He goes to teach his class but becomes distracted by the memory of the picture, and in his head, the class starts to taunt him ("Centerfold").

Brannigan brought together the technical and fire communities to create an integrated approach to firefighter safety. He made a strong and conscious effort in all of his writing to use plain language to explain technical concepts, in order to make it more accessible. His efforts have been rewarded in being quoted by such figures as Battalion Chief Arthur Scheuerman, FDNY (Retired) in his analysis of the collapse of the World Trade Center towers. His column in FireRescue Magazine, also titled "Building Construction" ran for many years.

Brannigan and McCabe met through a mutual friend and played gigs in Christchurch and Dunedin under many names including The Whining Plums, Hey, We're Wolves and The Twins in the early '80s. It was at a Twins gig at the notorious Empire Tavern in Dunedin in 1983 where Stu Kawowski was first unable to control himself and leapt on stage to commandeer the bongos, instantly adding another dimension to the unit. Art School Photography graduate, photography guru, filmmaker, artist, promotional maverick and explosives expert Kawowski was playing drums with Above Ground, Bill Direen's band at the time he met the other members of the Axemen and soon 'joined' the Axemen as a permanent fixture. Brannigan, McCabe and Kawowski remained the 'core' of the Axemen in the 20th century, however many New Zealand musicians played with them over the years as guest / transient / semi-permanent members, making their influence and the influences they assimilated (like the borg) an important breeding ground and virtual swap-meet of ideas and influence in Kiwi music circles. In February 2009, US record label Siltbreeze re-released the Axemen's 1984 protest album :Big Cheap Motel" on 12" vinyl.

The Decapodian army easily defeats Earth's defense forces and Earth is enslaved by the crustacean extraterrestrials. Later, Fry, Leela, Bender, Zapp Brannigan, and Kif, deciding the time has come to fight back, steal a heat-seeking missile from a museum exhibit and launch it toward the Decopodians’ newly constructed Mobile Oppression Palace. However, the palace is "cold-blooded", like the Decapodians themselves, and the palace continues its destructive rampage. It eventually crushes Old Man Waterfall for standing in its way, whom Zoidberg respected for defending him when no one else would.

Here is a brief overview year by year of significant events in the company's rich history. The promotion's first show was in July 2003 and called "Defection" due to the number of wrestlers who had jumped ship from small time now-defunct promotion, NPWA. It was held at the Monaco Ballroom, Wigan. Wrestlers that night who are still active now are Johnnie "Heresy" Brannigan, "Dangerous" Damon Leigh and Joey Hayes. In November 2003 GPW: promoted "Nemesis", It was a 450 sell out in Leigh and considered a breakout show for the promotion.

In the opening scenes, the protagonists are sentenced to hours of community payback. During his first community payback session, Robbie (Paul Brannigan), under the guidance of Harry (John Henshaw), is interrupted and taken to the hospital by Harry as his girlfriend, Leonie (Siobhan Reilly), has gone into labour. At the hospital, Robbie is assaulted by two of his girlfriend's uncles and her dad (Gilbert Martin) before he can see her. Harry takes Robbie back to his house to clean him up, at which point Leonie calls to announce Robbie's son, Luke, has been born.

" Mikael Wood of Spin observed a "back-to-basics aspiration" and dubbed the album "Grohl's most memorable set of songs since 1997's The Colour and the Shape." Rob Parker of NME said that it "sounds phenomenal" on headphones or sound systems and is "both broad and focused enough to appeal to casuals and longhairs alike". Paul Brannigan of Q praised Grohl's lyrics and called Wasting Light "the most life-affirming, positively-charged album of his career." David Fricke, writing for Rolling Stone, commended Grohl's themes and Butch Vig's "nuanced approach to weight and release.

Yoshikazu Matsuhana, assistant director for the project, was uncertain about this decision; he considered Raiden a "weak-looking character" but decided to follow Kojima. The codename "Raiden" was based on that of the Mitsubishi J2M Raiden, a historical combat aircraft of the Imperial Japanese Navy Air Service. It was initially planned to be written in katakana as "ライデン", but was changed to the kanji form "雷電" because of a resemblance to Bin Laden's "Laden" in katakana, "ラーディン". His full name was going to be "Raiden Brannigan" but the idea was scrapped.

Brannigan is a 1975 British action thriller film directed by Douglas Hickox and starring John Wayne and Richard Attenborough filmed in Panavision and DeLuxe Color. One of the screenwriters was Dalton Trumbo's son, Christopher Trumbo. Set principally in London, the film is about a Chicago detective sent to Britain to organise the extradition of an American mobster, who is soon kidnapped and held for ransom. Struggling with the restrained policing style of his British counterparts, the tough Irish-American detective uses his own brand of law enforcement to recapture the criminal.

On the Nimbus, Kif implores Amy to move in with him and shows her the HoloShed to illustrate what life would be like with him. Soon, however, the shed malfunctions and the holograms that invade become real. When the holograms reach the rest of the crew, Zapp Brannigan accidentally blasts a hole in the ship, which sucks out the holograms. Everyone else on the ship is also sucked towards the hole, but they hang on to each other's hands until the moon from the Holoshed plugs the hole.

When Fry, Leela, and Bender return with the last animal, they discover that the mystery creature has devoured all the other animals. The planet begins to collapse, and when the crew tries to escape, they discover that the ship is out of fuel. After admitting what happened the previous night, Leela initially refuses to ask Zapp Brannigan for assistance, but finally relents in order to save her crew. Zapp says that he will only help them if they leave Nibbler behind, so Leela rejects his offer and tells him off.

Away from shows he has also played an instrumental part in helping to train a lot of the current British wrestlers from the North West, including Joey Hayes, Danny Hope, CJ Banks, Juggernaut and many others. Damon is also credited with being an instrumental part in the running of GPW, turning his hand to promoting shows for a number of months during 2004 - 2005 and then helping out behind the scenes. In May 2017 Damon was inducted into the Grand Pro Wrestling Hall of Fame. He was inducted by Johnnie "Heresy" Brannigan.

Brannigan and Valerie's children were played by real kittens, which proved difficult to direct. The production team shot for four days in the "6-foot by 6-foot" car, which Davies called a "nightmare" because not many camera angles were available and only one crew member could adjust the props and lighting at a time. In addition, smoke was generated around the car so it would blend in with the CGI smoke from the CGI cars. The small set was intended to benefit the actors, as they would feel claustrophobic.

Manager Gordon Chisholm signed Fox on 29 January 2010, for Dumfries club Queen of the South from Celtic on amateur forms. Chisholm gave Fox his debut on 16 February 2010 in place of the suspended David Hutton. Fox debuted with a clean sheet to his name in a 3–0 win for Queens at Palmerston Park against Ayr United. His next appearance came under the management of Kenny Brannigan on 3 April 2010, when he came on as a substitute in the 36th minute when Hutton injured his back away to Morton at Cappielow.

An excellent raconteur, Franklin was, from 1966 to 1973, a panellist on the light-hearted radio panel game My Music, chaired by Steve Race. Ill health forced him to retire in early 1973 during the eighth season of the show. He was replaced initially by Owen Brannigan and later, after Brannigan's sudden death, by John Amis. He also became the chairman of the very long running popular BBC radio panel game Twenty Questions from 1970 to 1972, following in the steps of fellow distinguished broadcasters Gilbert Harding, Richard Dimbleby, and Kenneth Horne.

The album debuted at number 28 on the UK Albums Chart, and its first single ("Paint Your Target") reached number nine on the Singles Chart. That month, Fightstar were listed by the US rock magazine Alternative Press as one of 100 bands to watch in 2006 and Kerrang! editor Paul Brannigan called the album "one of the best British rock albums of the last decade". The band played at the Download Festival at Donington Park, and followed Biffy Clyro and Funeral for a Friend at the Full Ponty festival in Wales.

Larry Lucas is a small-time worker, who is one day approached by a millionaire, Farell Brannigan, to assist him and start a new bank in town, which should be the safest in the world. Thrilled by the offer, Larry jumps for it, starts minting money and enters high class circles, only to come across a series of problems on the way, involving deception, hypocrisy, treachery, murder, blackmail. The rest of the story is about how and whether Larry is able to deal with and survive it all.

" Q noted that "there's a lot going on, but Welch never confuses breadth with depth". Entertainment Weeklys Joseph Brannigan Lynch opined that Welch's "immaculately constructed indie pop recalls Regina Spektor, but without the studied artiness: Welch is more concerned with raw emotional release." Spins Melissa Maerz stated, "From the way she sings, in big gulps and Teen Wolf growls, to the mystical art-rock ballads she bedazzles with sleigh bells, harps, and choirs, there's enough drama here for a Broadway musical. But her delivery is so raw that every mess feels genuine.

Shaft is the long-standing vehicle of songwriter Robert Cardy (aka Bob Brannigan), original guitarist for the band The Axemen and a stalwart of the New Zealand underground scene. When the Axemen took a break in 1992, Cardy was jamming with Axemen drummer Stu Kawowski for a while, and one day bumped into guitarist John Segovia at a gas station. Soon after Daniel "Speedy" Mañetto came on board as bass player. This original line-up stayed together for around a year or two, and then one by one Segovia, Mañetto and Kawowski departed.

Handel's Last Chance is a 1996 Devine Entertainment film created by David Devine and Richard Mozer for HBO Original Films of New York. The film was directed by Milan Cheylov. It stars Leon Pownall as George Frideric Handel, Tod Fennell as Jamie O'Flaherty, Gerard Parkes as Jonathan Swift, Seana McKenna as Mary O'Flaherty, Cody Jones as Wee Hugh Brannigan, and Steven Miller as Toby Binton. Devine Entertainment's Handel's Last Chance is set in 1742 Dublin, where 10-year-old Jamie O'Flaherty and the brilliant composer George Frideric Handel live.

According to a letter he wrote to Edith Sitwell on 14 December, "the final bars of the opera [were] punctuated by hammer-blows" from workmen busy at the Red House. Before he finished the composition draft, Britten wrote to the baritone Owen Brannigan, who had sung in several previous Britten operas, asking if he would take the title role. Britten completed the full score of the opera in March 1958, which he dedicated "To my nephew and nieces, Sebastian, Sally and Roguey Welford, and my young friend Ronald Duncan [one of Britten's godsons]".

During a trip on the luxury starliner Titanic, Amy Wong passes Fry off as her boyfriend to avoid being set up by her parents with an unattractive potential husband. Unfortunately, Leela was also passing Fry off as her fake fiancé to ward off the attentions of Zapp Brannigan. Potential embarrassment is averted by catastrophic damage to the ship, and Amy wins the battle of the bogus boyfriends. In "Put Your Head on My Shoulders", Fry and Amy are trapped together in a desert on Mercury and realize they have a lot in common.

During the same season, Queen's lost 2–1 to Rangers at Hampden in the Scottish Cup quarter-finals. Recovery took a while but eventually a good side featuring Stevie Ross, Kenny Brannigan, Ian McCall and Ross Caven finished 4th in 1985–86 – winning three more games than the Championship side of 1981. Queen's lost narrowly by 2–1 at Celtic Park in the 4th round of the Scottish Cup in the February 1986. 1987–88 was a further improvement but 21 victories was only enough for 3rd place.

He freely gave of his time for all kinds of charity recitals and when Owen Brannigan was severely injured in a car crash took over many of his engagements, in spite of being in his seventies. He had a large build with a sense of humour to match and even in later life used to flirt with every attractive young lady he would encounter on the London Underground. Having said this, he was very happily married, with one daughter, and lived in Haslemere for at least the last twenty years of his life.

Francis L. (Frank) Brannigan (October 13, 1918 – January 10, 2006) was a writer and teacher in the field of fire protection engineering. He died in his sleep at his home in Calverton, Maryland, United States, and was interred in Arlington National Cemetery. In his youth, he first enlisted and then was commissioned in the US Navy. While in the Navy, he was assigned to the Panama Canal Army-Navy-Pancanal lock project as chief of fire protection, and created a fire school there to train Navy crews in mass fire fighting tactics .

Farnsworth reviews the data from the weather balloon and finds that the Sun is about to release a giant solar flare that will destroy the planet. An electromagnetic storm causes all electronic devices on Earth to stop working, including spaceships, preventing evacuation from the planet. However, Amy learns through the calendar that the pyramid is actually a giant stone spacecraft able to hold 30,000 people. As they try to use the spacecraft for themselves, the Planet Express crew are caught by Zapp Brannigan and brought before President Richard Nixon's Head.

A need for a Catholic church began with Danville and Pottsville Railroad workers, many of whom were of the Catholic faith, who were brought in to build a railroad in the area. Starting in 1838 church services were held in the village of Shamokin, led by preachers from Pottsville and Minersville, Pennsylvania. A half acre of land was purchased on the west end of the village, where a wooden structure 20 feet by 32 feet was built by Stephen Bittenbender, Patrick Reilly, and Matthew Brannigan. Bishop Francis Kenrick of Philadelphia dedicated this as St Edward's Church on October 11, 1840.

The Shondes are a rock band from Brooklyn, NY, best known for their combination of feminist punk, rock, pop, and Jewish influences, and ties to political activism. The Shondes formed in 2006 and have released two demos and five full-length studio albums. The band was started by violinist Elijah Oberman and bassist Louisa Rachel Solomon after their former band, The Syndicate, broke up. They recruited guitarist Ian Brannigan, a friend they had made through student activism at The New School in Greenwich Village, and drummer Temim Fruchter, whom the three got to know through protesting the Republican National Convention in 2004.

The Angels' Share is a comedy-drama film directed by Ken Loach and starring Paul Brannigan, John Henshaw, and William Ruane. Set in Glasgow, Scotland, it tells the story of a young father who narrowly avoids a prison sentence. He is determined to turn over a new leaf and when he and his friends from the same community payback group visit a whisky distillery, a route to a new life becomes apparent. The title is from "the angels' share", a term for the portion (share) of a whisky's volume that is lost to evaporation during aging in oak barrels.

Isn't It a Wonder is a song by Irish boy band Boyzone from their second studio album, A Different Beat. The song was written by Ronan Keating, Ray Hedges, and Martin Brannigan, and it was produced by Hedges and remixed by Mark "Spike" Stent for its single release. It was released as the album's third single on 10 March 1997 by Polydor Records. The single reached number two in the UK Singles Chart (behind the Spice Girls' "Mama" / "Who Do You Think You Are"), becoming their first single from A Different Beat not to reach number one.

Opposing the grandiose and self-important nature of the National Football League's championship match, he hired two Los Angeles Rams players, Fred Dryer and Lance Rentzel, to cover Super Bowl IX. Subsequent to their Eurovision exposure, the group embarked on a series of gigs across the UK & Ireland. Natalie recorded a new track "Shattered Glass", originally a hit for Laura Brannigan which was released as a single via Liberty City Music in the Spring of 2008. The release of this new material along with a new club mix of Flying The Flag saw Natalie on a UK club and Gay Pride tour. Following this brief return to recording, Natalie has since married and extended her family with the birth of a second son, Max, in December 2008.

The Doctor chases after Martha's kidnappers and arrives at the Motorway, a completely enclosed highway filled with thousands of hover vans stuck in gridlock. One of the motorists, Brannigan, helps the Doctor locate the vehicle containing Martha, which is heading towards the fast lane. The Doctor tries to call the police but gets put on hold. Upon noting that the television broadcasts in the vans are looped, the Doctor deduces that there is no way out of the Motorway and tries to reach Martha himself by breaking into and out of vans on the way to the fast lane.

George has learned that Rita's not- yet-divorced husband, football star Bronk Brannigan, is none too happy about her new relationship. Worse, George has been engaged to write his first screenplay, an adaptation of Mike's psychological drama about a prostitute and a psychiatrist, and after four weeks he still has no idea how to go about it. With an all-important story conference due any minute, LaSalle increases his hold on George by giving him the requisite 'inspiration' to satisfy the increasingly impatient Harry. In Act Three, a year has gone by and George has won an Oscar.

Lieut. Bill Brannigan (Pat O'Brien) learns friend and hotshot pilot Thomas Jefferson "Tommy" O'Toole (James Cagney), the self-styled "world's greatest aviator", is joining the USMC Reserve Aviator training program. O'Toole arrives at San Diego and promptly starts to move in on Brannigan's love interest, Betty Roberts (Margaret Lindsay), the daughter of the owner of the nearby Happy Landings Cafe. In typical cocky fashion, O'Toole antagonizes nearly everyone else. Although not temperamentally suited for the military, Tommy completes primary training and after surviving an accident he caused by running out of fuel, eventually realizes that he is willing to change.

The Hyper-Chicken Lawyer (voiced by Maurice LaMarche) is a large blue/green rooster-like chicken with southern mannerisms and a pince-nez perched on his beak. He is an alien originally from what he describes as a "backwoods asteroid." The show never reveals the Hyper-Chicken Lawyer's name (or the non-existence thereof); in "Brannigan Begin Again", it is revealed that the Hyper-Chicken Lawyer's species is "hyper-chicken". In the commentary of "A Tale of Two Santas", David X. Cohen explains that the script simply used the designation "hyper-chicken" to refer to the character.

In the same year, he played Mendel in Norman Jewison's film of Fiddler on the Roof. According to Dennen's website, he suggested to Jewison that he direct a film version of Jesus Christ Superstar. Jewison did so, and Dennen played Pilate again (1973). Dennen also played a variety of small parts on American television shows including: Batman, Galtar and the Golden Lance, Tales from the Darkside and Justice League: Throne of Atlantis, and films, such as Madhouse (1974), Brannigan (1975), The Kentucky Fried Movie (1977), The Shining (1980), Ragtime (1981), Trading Places (1983), Superman III (1983), Twin Sitters (1994) and Titanic (1997).

Though viewed publicly as a respected hero for his numerous military victories, almost all of these victories are against comically weak opponents (such as the "retiree people of the assisted living nebula" and the "pacifists of the Gandhi nebula") or achieved through tactics that wantonly disregard the safety of his own soldiers. The character is based on the Star Trek captain James T. Kirk, played by William Shatner. The show's executive producer David X. Cohen has described Brannigan as "half Captain Kirk, half actual William Shatner". Zapp is voiced by Billy West, though he was originally intended to be voiced by Phil Hartman.

Dianna Agron covered the song in 2012 during the eleventh episode of the third season of the American musical television series Glee, entitled "Michael". The performance received mostly positive reviews. Jen Chaney of The Washington Post gave the song a "B−", and said it "worked much better than every track that preceded it" because it adapted the song to the show "instead of trying to out-Jackson Jackson". Entertainment Weekly Joseph Brannigan Lynch called it "a nice summation of her character's journey, but not vocally impressive enough to justify listening to outside of the episode" and gave it a "B".

While Michael Slezak of TVLine praised their "sweet vocals", he wondered why their "rare moment in the spotlight had to serve as a backdrop to the Artie-Sugar-Rory triangle" and gave the performance a "B". Chaney thought the "quick edits actually gave the song a nice energy, but also prevented us from seeing more of Tina and Mike dancing", which she said "was a shame". Raymund Flandez of The Wall Street Journal and Entertainment Weekly Joseph Brannigan Lynch both praised Mike's singing; Lynch said his "voice sounded great", and Flandez declared that "Mike has really come into his own as a singer".

During the 2005/06 campaign, as fans grew increasingly discontent at the lack of progress in the club, the club's senior management were replaced. The incoming management team: Paul Fletcher, Managing Director; Ken Sharp, Marketing Director and Mal Brannigan, Finance Director; had contributed to the new sense of enthusiasm felt at the club. They launched 'Operation Premiership', a 3-year plan to get Coventry back in the top league. To help achieve that they brought in new investment and created initiatives such as 'True Sky Blue' (aka Private Seat Licence), which gives fans the chance to buy a seat for life.

Leela takes additional advantage of her disguise to coax Fry into revealing his romantic inclinations, and Fry freely admits that he has a crush on Leela. The troops are deployed to Spheron I and discover that the enemy is a race of sentient, ball-like creatures. During a battle, a bomb is thrown, Bender opens his chest plate and throws himself on it, absorbing the explosion yet leaving him in critical condition. After the battle, Brannigan sentences Fry to become Kif's assistant for being a war coward, while Bender, now a hero, is treated at a field hospital.

Dezer was born in a working-class family in Tel Aviv, Israel, the son of a bus driver. He served in the Israeli Air Force. In 1962, he immigrated to the U.S. where he went to night school and worked in advertising before starting a typesetting business. He then started investing in real estate and founded Dezer Properties in New York City which focused on the Chelsea neighborhood,Miami Herald: "Porsche fanatic Gil Dezer makes mark in Sunny Isles Beach" By Martha Brannigan October 27, 2013 which was then transitioning into an arts community from its former identity as a manufacturing center.

As a result, the entire population of Earth becomes extremely drunk and the planet's fresh water supply is gone. At this point, the giant alien arrives on Earth to apologize for his earlier outburst, even though the crew keeps drunkenly insulting him and Zapp Brannigan tries to destroy him with a tank. Unable to get hold of the therapist who has been helping him deal with his anger issues, the alien flies into another rage and starts tearing up the city. Bender, the only sober crew member, agrees to fight the alien if Fry will fold the Professor's two sweaters.

Booth developed a taste for acting when posted in the Army to SHAPE in Paris. He spent five years in repertory theatre, before appearing in films and television during the 1960s. He played roles in over twenty films, including The L-Shaped Room (1962), Corruption (1968), Brannigan (1975), Priest (1994) and Owd Bob (1997). He appeared early in the run of the television series Coronation Street in 1960 and in an episode of The Avengers, but it was his role as the left-wing son-in-law in Till Death Us Do Part (1965) that brought him recognition.

Ricky Rickard, though his career was brief, became an accomplished wrestler in his own right by capturing his father's title from Butcher Brannigan two years later. On one occasion, unrelated to an ongoing storyline, Ricky was wrestling in a tag team match refereed by his brother Tony and commentated by their father. On 8 October 1981, he and Mark Lewin were awarded the NWA Australasian Tag Team Championship and held the titles for nearly seven months. Though they lost the titles to King Kamaka & Baron Von Krupp in Auckland the following year, they regained the titles on 27 May 1982.

Stewart Bevan (born 10 March 1948) is a British actor, best known for his performances in both film and television. His film credits include: Burke & Hare (1971), The Flesh and Blood Show (1972), Steptoe and Son Ride Again (1973), The Ghoul (1975), Brannigan (1975) and House of Mortal Sin (1976). TV roles include: Public Eye, Secret Army, Shoestring, Blake's 7, The Enigma Files, Ivanhoe, Airline, The Gentle Touch, Casualty, Silent Witness and Murder in Mind. He is well known for playing Professor Clifford Jones, love interest to popular companion Jo Grant, in the 1973 Doctor Who serial The Green Death.

Deserted is a 2016 American psychological thriller film directed by Ashley Avis and starring Mischa Barton, Trent Ford, Winter Ave Zoli, Jackson Davis, Kelly Brannigan, Lance Henriksen, Jake Busey, Gerry Bednob and Dana Rosendorff. The plot focuses on when twenty-four-year-old Jae (Barton) is released from prison and returns to her childhood home in small-town Ridgecrest. Once reunited with her brother, (Davis), she joins him and some friends on a road trip to a music festival in Death Valley, resulting in them getting hopelessly lost and fighting to survive the elements. The film was written by Avis.

Stanley concocts a plot in his comic strip to kill Brannigan's wife. He drugs her with "goofballs" and buries her alive in "the goop from the gloppitta-gloppitta machine" at the construction site next to their home, so that Brannigan can resume his career as a secret agent. As always, he enacts the events live before drawing the strip, again with the help of his old valet Charles Firbank. After drugging his wife during a wild cocktail party, Stanley carries her up to bed, then switches to a department-store mannequin to play out the burial in concrete. Mrs.

The back nine has been in play for over a hundred years while the front nine has been in play since 1995. The new nine was designed by Des Smyth (2006 Ryder Cup Vice-Captain) and Declan Brannigan, and is an example of modern design with old style golfing values. In the far distance forming a spectacular backdrop to the 11th green lies the fifteen mile stretch of the Blackstairs Mountains from Dranagh to Mount Leinster, separating counties Carlow and Wexford. At RUC headquarters, Sir John fixes a line with senior officers: they must conceal the existence of the source, so they will say there was a routine roadblock at which an officer was injured; this is given to the media. Meanwhile, at the SSU barracks, DCI Flanagan sorts out what they will say has happened with his team. They will say they saw flashes from the car; they assumed they were under attack; so they returned fire. This is what Constable Brannigan tells the CID officer the next morning, denying that he fired any shots after the car had stopped.

Gambler Nathan Detroit (Frank Sinatra) seeks to organize an unlicensed crap game, but the police, led by Lieutenant Brannigan (Robert Keith), are "putting on the heat". All the places where Nathan usually holds his games refuse his entry due to Brannigan's intimidating pressure. The Biltmore garage is the only venue where Nathan can hold the game, but its owner requires a $1,000 security deposit, which Nathan doesn't have. Adding to his problems, Nathan's fiancée, Miss Adelaide (Vivian Blaine), a nightclub singer, wants to bring an end to their 14-year engagement and actually tie the knot.

Catherine "Cathy" Brown is Agnes' only daughter in the Brown family. She is a lonely middle-aged woman who is on the look-out for a man, but is put off by her mother and what her mother usually has to say about her boyfriends. In series one, it is revealed that Cathy has already been married once in a London register office, and the man she married was beating her – she is not divorced as of Series 1. Her past romances include: Teddy Brannigan, the local bad boy; Professor Thomas Clowne, her psychology teacher, and Mick, who is a police officer.

Ben Keaton (born 1956) is an Irish actor who appeared as Jeff Brannigan in ITV soap opera Emmerdale and in BBC's Casualty, playing the part of Spencer between 1999 and 2002. He also appeared as Father Austin Purcell in "Think Fast, Father Ted", an episode of the Channel 4's sitcom Father Ted, and had a small part in the British film East is East as a priest. Keaton is also a well-established theatre actor, and has appeared at The Royal Exchange Theatre in Manchester in Animal Crackers, American Buffalo, Harvey, Cyrano de Bergerac,Bourne, Dianne. Kate Brannigan, a private investigator based in Manchester, England, confronts four problems simultaneously. She is commissioned to catch two fraudsters who have been cheating recently bereaved people by promising high quality gravestones at a reduced price if a down payment is made that evening, then disappearing with the money. A neo-punk rock group 'Dan Druff and the Scabby Heided Bains' commission her to trace protection racketeers who are sabotaging their flyposting and gigs. Her business partner Bill has fallen in love with an Australian and plans to marry and move to Australia, closing the detective agency as he owns most of the shares.

All the original voice actors participated. In February 2007, Groening explained the format of the new stories: "[The crew is] writing them as movies and then we're going to chop them up, reconfigure them, write new material and try to make them work as separate episodes." The first movie, Futurama: Bender's Big Score, was written by Ken Keeler and Cohen, and includes return appearances by the Nibblonians, Seymour, Barbados Slim, Robot Santa, the "God" space entity, Al Gore, and Zapp Brannigan. It was animated in widescreen and was released on standard DVD on November 27, 2007, with a possible Blu-ray Disc release to follow.

He will often mispronounce words, such as champagne ("sham-PAGG-Enn") and guacamole ("GWACK-a-mole") in the episodes "Love's Labours Lost in Space" and "The Problem with Popplers" (respectively). Soon after first meeting him, Leela has sex with him out of pity. He mentions this encounter repeatedly in later episodes while remaining convinced that Leela lusts after him despite her vocal (and often violent) opposition to the idea. He is known to make catastrophic mistakes (such as destroying D.O.O.P. headquarters in "Brannigan, Begin Again"), yet, in the public eye, he is seen as an established and reputable leader of the Earth's army (Bender's Big Score, among others).

Joseph Brannigan Lynch of Entertainment Weekly felt that West's rap verses helped the song top the Billboard Hot 100, and called the video an "awesomely bizarre sci-fi video, which impressively resists any obvious Spielberg references". Matthew Perpetua from Rolling Stone described the video as "a sequel to Avatar or a Katy Perry video game", and felt the song and video were "a bold move away from Perry's usual silliness and sexuality". Los Angeles Times described the video as a "sweeping visual manifestation". In a more negative review, Sal Cinquemani from Slant Magazine criticized Perry, saying she looked like an "animated video-game character", while saying West was a "non-presence".

Quaiche holds Khouri and Vasko hostage, as well as Rashmika (who is actually Aura). He reveals he actually wants the ship to change Hela's rotation with its engines to stop it spinning; this will permit him to keep watching Haldora eternally, without the need for moving Cathedrals. Brannigan agrees and lands, but not before he deploys a Cache Weapon on Haldora and destroys its exterior, revealing it to be the Shadows' transport mechanism. Quaiche and Grelier (his right-hand man) leave with Aura, but Quaiche panics and dies falling from the shuttle, whilst Grelier is killed by Brannigan's hypometric weapon when he tries to hold Aura hostage.

Back in Black is an influential hard rock and heavy metal album. According to Tim Jonze of The Guardian, it has been hailed by some as "a high watermark" for heavy metal music. NME regarded it as an important release in 1980s metal and heavy rock, naming it one of the 20 best metal albums of its decade, while The Daily Telegraph ranked it as one of the 20 greatest heavy metal albums of all time. Paul Brannigan of Metal Hammer cited it as one of the ten albums that helped reestablish the genre's global popularity in 1980, making it "the greatest year for heavy metal".

For the first time since 2007 there was a contested election for the Rangitikei mayoralty, as in 2010 incumbent mayor Chalky Leary was elected unopposed. On 26 June former deputy mayor Andy Watson announced his intention to run for mayor, campaigning on a more transparent council and an establishment of a finance committee. Incumbent Chalky Leary was standing for a third term in office and campaigned on a no excess and no frills council whose significant work included the Hunterville and Taihape sewerage schemes. Mangaweka-based councillor Richard Aslett and executive officer of Rural Education Activities Programme Maree Brannigan announced their candidacies in August.

In special tribute episode to Michael Jackson, "Michael", Blaine sings "Wanna Be Startin' Somethin'". Futterman wrote that Blaine's "slick showmanship" made him a "natural for lead vocals", and TVLines Michael Slezak called it "the best use of Darren Criss' voice on Glee in quite some time" and gave it an "A−". Entertainment Weekly Joseph Brannigan Lynch also gave it an "A−", and said Criss "captured the excitement and the spunky bravado of the original". MTV's Kevin P. Sullivan was another fan of "the sheer awesomeness of Darren Criss" on the song, and characterized it as "a tribute that's more respectful than any other in the episode".

In Ridgecrest, California, twenty-four year old Jae, (Barton) is released from prison for murdering her mother 7 years prior. She is reunited with her older brother, Robin (Davis) at their childhood home and finds herself quickly wanting to escape the bad memories that still preside there. When Jae discovers that Robin will soon be leaving town to go to a desert music festival, 'Burn The Moon' in Death Valley with his girlfriend Rosemary (Zoli) and her friends Heather (Rosendorff) and Jasmine (Kelly Brannigan), she said she'll tag along. Once the group is on the road, the car breaks down in the middle of no where.

The first performance of Noye's Fludde was staged during the 1958 Aldeburgh Festival, at St Bartholomew's Church, Orford, on 18 June. The conductor was Charles Mackerras, who had participated in several productions at past Aldeburgh festivals. The production was directed by Colin Graham, who also designed its set, with costume designs by Ceri Richards. Three of the original cast members from the movie, Louis Jean Heydt, Sheb Wooley, and Slim Pickens, were transplanted directly into the subsequent TV show's pilot, "Brannigan's Boots", playing their roles from the movie; the first episode of Sugarfoot follows the film's script fairly faithfully. Dennis Hopper succeeded James Griffith as Billy the Kid in the television version, Merry Anders took over the part of Katie Brannigan from Nancy Olson, and Chubby Johnson replaced Wallace Ford as Wally Higgins for the small screen. This was the last film made by Curtiz as a contract director at Warner Bros. He had worked exclusively at the studio since 1926.

Loach remained keen, casting him (alongside Compston) in Tickets (2005) and in The Wind That Shakes the Barley (2006). He also appeared in minor roles on several television series. In 2012 Ruane's career came full circle when he was cast as Rhino in The Angels' Share, another production directed by Ken Loach, written by Paul Laverty, produced by Rebecca O'Brien and set in the west of Scotland, in which he starred alongside a 'raw talent'—in this case Paul Brannigan—and which had positive feedback at Cannes (the 2012 festival). Another of the main cast members, Gary Maitland (also from Castlemilk), had featured in Sweet Sixteen and Tickets as well.

Meeker was in episodes of Primus, Room 222, Faraday and Company, Ironside, Toma, The Evil Touch, Police Surgeon, Cannon,The Rookies, Movin' On, Barbary Coast, Police Story, Run, Joe, Run, Harry O, Police Woman, The Eddie Capra Mysteries, and CHiPs. In 1971, Meeker played FBI agent Bernie Jenks in the television movie The Night Stalker. He was in TV movies The Mind Snatchers (1972), Birds of Prey (1973), You'll Never See Me Again (1973), Cry Panic (1974), Night Games (1974), The Girl on the Late, Late Show (1974), and The Dead Don't Die (1975). He made Love Comes Quietly (1973) in Holland and did a John Wayne film, Brannigan (1974).

He appeared in a great many of the 93 concerts given between 1955 and 1967 under the auspices of the BBC Concert Orchestra at various venues outside London.Arts and Humanities Research Council The roll of artists he accompanied includes: Janet Baker, Owen Brannigan, Alfredo Campoli, Suzanne Danco, Jacqueline du Pré (her very first recital), Kathleen Ferrier (her last broadcast recital), Pierre Fournier, Thomas Hemsley, Nathan Milstein, Ossy Renardy, Ruggiero Ricci, Peter Schidlof, Paul Schöffler, Elisabeth Schumann, Igor Stravinsky, Joan Sutherland, Inia Te Wiata, Jennifer Vyvyan and Ljuba Welitsch. He can be seen in , accompanying Nathan Milstein in "Asturiana" from Manuel de Falla's Spanish Popular Suite. Ernest Lush died in 1988, aged 80, in Harrogate.

As the crew arrives in the Vergon system, they find a security cordon put in place around the planet by the starship Nimbus, which Leela recognizes as the flagship of famed space captain Zapp Brannigan. Upon docking with the ship and coming aboard, the Planet Express crew meet Zapp and his long-suffering executive officer, Lieutenant Kif Kroker. Though Leela is initially flattered to meet Zapp, relations later turn sour when Zapp rejects Leela's request for help in saving the animals of Vergon 6; the Democratic Order of Planets (D.O.O.P.) has declared Vergon 6 restricted, as interfering with undeveloped worlds is forbidden (even though it was a D.O.O.P. mining crew that mined it hollow in the first place).

When the Zapp Brannigan role was originally cast, the creators chose Saturday Night Live alumnus and semi-frequent Simpsons voice actor Phil Hartman. When Hartman was murdered by his wife in 1998, however, the role was given to Billy West (who was already cast as Phillip Fry, Professor Farnsworth, Dr. Zoidberg, and others). Though David X. Cohen credits West with using his own take on the character, West has stated that he did imitate Hartman to a certain extent in his portrayal, along with modelling it after some "big, old-time dumb announcers" with whom Phil and himself had been fascinated. Billy West also did the voice of the entity of pure energy that Amy introduced to Leela.

Pushing the Senses received mixed reviews from music critics. In a review for Dotmusic, Chris Heath said that "Feeder are in danger of being a schizophrenic band, unrecognisable from their once 'trademark' sound and prone to style swings on a whim." The Guardian said the album was a "kind of emotional aural soup that will baffle the spikier members of their original punky fanbase". However, Q magazine reviewer Paul Brannigan was impressed, and wrote that the album could "Finally establish Feeder as major league players". Metacritic, a website which aggregates the albums reviews from selected publications, gives an overall score of 52/100 indicating "Mixed or average reviews" from a total of six.

Originally published by the American Orthopsychiatric Association, it was purchased in the 1990s by Riverside Publishing company and released with a revised qualitative scoring system as the Bender-II under the direction of Dr. Gary Brannigan and Dr. Scott L. Decker. The Bender-II contains 16 figures versus 9 in the original. The new or revised scoring system for the Bender-II was developed based on empirical investigation of numerous scoring systems. The Global Scoring System was, tangentially related to Bender's original scoring method and a revision of a system devised by Branigan in the 1980s, was selected based on reliability and validity studies, as well as its ease of use and construct clarity.

Another disc of traditional English songs such as Cherry Ripe and Early One Morning was a joint recital with baritone Owen Brannigan from 1964, conducted by Charles Mackerras. In oratorio, Harwood was able to perform in both the traditional big-scale Handelian style and the emerging smaller-scale "period performance" style, recording the soprano part in Messiah for both Sir Malcolm Sargent, a traditionalist, and Charles Mackerras, whose 1967 recording was a landmark in period performance.The Gramophone, December 1989, p. 128 There is a recording of "Rigoletto" from Sadler's Wells Opera, in English, with Elizabeth Harwood, Donald Smith, Peter Glossop, Donald McIntyre, with the Sadler's Wells Orchestra conducted by James Lockhart - possibly 1963.

McCarthy and Tony Bogan later left, and were replaced by Danny Ellis and Martin Brannigan. The group released an album, The Wind Will Change Tomorrow, in 1970, and in the early 1970s played a residency in Las Vegas and performed at Carnegie Hall. In the U.S., he was in Hi- Riders (1978), The Norseman (1978), Guyana: Crime of the Century (1979), and The Fifth Floor (1979). In 1979, he portrayed Dr. Brogli in an episode of Return of the Saint.

Johnny Hellfire, Pervo the Clown, Zeus, and Damage the strongman are a circus freak troupe on a promotional tour along with a goth group fronted by Skye Brannigan, whose sister Rachel has gone missing. Along the way, they appear on a show hosted by Tycho Zander, who also leads a sex cult consisting of kidnapped scantily clad girls who are kept hypnotized and drugged. As a result the girls are also very willing subjects in experiments conducted by Tycho's father Henry, an evil scientist who loves keeping the lingerie clad girls strapped down to an operating table in his lab. He accidentally transforms the women in Tycho's cult into zombies, and they attack.

As a poet, McGough came to national prominence through the publication of The Mersey Sound in 1967. The brand new track "Where Have You Been", co-written by Keating, Hedges and Brannigan, was released alongside "No Matter What", accompanied by a remix of "All That I Need" by Phil Da Costa, the Japanese- only bonus track "She's the One" co-written by Keating, an interview with the band, and the band's former hit singles "Father and Son" and "Words". Finally, the brand new track "Waiting for You", co-written by Gately, was issued as the B-side to "I Love the Way You Love Me", alongside "Let the Message Run Free", a live version of "No Matter What" from Wembley, and a medley of songs from the musical Grease.

Edward Carberry became Treasurer and William Cunningham Secretary, while the first committee consisted of James McCann, John O'Neill (Donaghmore), Joe Carberry, Joseph Daly, Joseph Brannigan and Henry Daly. The name Éire Óg (Young Ireland) was chosen by O'Toole as he had been a frequent contributor to the weekly Young Ireland column of the Ulster Herald newspaper. The new club set out to revive all things Irish and while it would play Gaelic football initially, hurling was to follow and a literary section was to be formed. O'Toole urged others to follow the example of Dungannon and Donaghmore so that Tyrone would "soon be ablaze with enthusiasm for the revival of our national games and pastimes".

The group found the phrase arbitrary and hilarious and decided to use it as the title, rather than trying to choose a title based on the music's themes or moods. They chose the British spelling of "colour" with a "U" as a tribute to Norton, who is British. A title track was written and recorded for The Colour and the Shape during the Bear Creek sessions, but like most of the other songs attempted there, it did not reach the album's final track list. Noted as "rawer, noisier and thrashier" than the rest of the songs on the album by Louder Sounds Paul Brannigan, it later became a b-side to the album's eventual lead single, "Monkey Wrench".

Following that tour, guitarist Ian Brannigan (who was also Solomon's boyfriend at the time) left the band and was replaced by Fureigh. The new lineup made its debut at JDub Records' annual "Jewltide" Christmas Eve party at Southpaw in Brooklyn, NY (a venue the band spoke of as their home base until its closure in 2011). William Richard Werstine (born April 16, 1952), better known as Billy West, is an American voice actor, musician, singer, and songwriter. His most notable voice roles include the title characters of Doug and The Ren & Stimpy Show, as well as the Futurama characters Philip J. Fry, Professor Farnsworth, Dr. Zoidberg, and Zapp Brannigan. In commercials, he is the current voice of the Red M&M; and formerly voiced Buzz for Honey Nut Cheerios. He also voices established characters Bugs Bunny, Elmer Fudd, Popeye, Shaggy Rogers, Super Snooper, Muttley, and Woody Woodpecker, and was a cast member on The Howard Stern Show, during which time he was noted for his impressions of Larry Fine, Marge Schott, George Takei, and Jackie Martling.

He has been commissioned by the Royal National Lifeboat Institution, Irish Shipping, An Post, Bord Iascaigh Mhara, the Maritime Institute of Ireland and the Office of Public Works. The National Maritime Museum of Ireland has paintings, by Kenneth King, of all the Irish ships lost during World War II. Irish Shipping had commissioned King to paint pictures of all their ships. When Irish Shipping was liquidated, the receiver sold the collection at auction. The Maritime Institute of Ireland acquired some of the paintings; they concentrated on ships lost during World War II. Later, at the instigation of Des Brannigan, then President of the Institution, the Institute commissioned King to paint pictures of the other Irish Ships lost during the war.

Futterman, on the other hand, felt that the sequence "tastefully incorporated religion's views into the show's ongoing look at gay relationships". While the sequence featuring Mercedes singing "I Will Always Love You" was very well received, Entertainment Weekly Joseph Brannigan Lynch was not happy about the state of Mercedes and Sam's relationship: "If these two don't get together soon, I'm voting we just call the whole thing off, because I'm tired of these false starts." "When I Grow Up" experienced a mostly positive response from music journalists upon the impact of Version 2.0 and again upon single release. Stephen Jones of Music Week posted a track-by-track review of Version 2.0 as the album campaign launched, where he described "When I Grow Up" as "pure pop in a Strawberry Switchblade vein", and adding that the song was his favourite track. Bradley Bamberger, in his album campaign launch write-up for Billboard, described the song as "a disco-fied girl group essay on teen angst the long-term benefits of a forward- minded attitude". Entertainment Weekly's album reviewer compared the song's "breathy refrain" to 70's/80's group Blondie, while Paul Brannigan also compared the song to Blondie ["... gone Eurodisco"] in his album review for Kerrang!.

It charted at number 72 in the UK, and 96 in Canada. In season three, Mays performs "Wedding Bell Blues" in the episode "Yes/No", which was described by Bobby Hankinson of The Houston Chronicle as "the perfect combination of a great song, plot relevance, and Princess Beatrice hat". TV Guide Kate Stanhope agreed with him on all three points, and added that it was "a great pick for her vocals". TVLine Michael Slezak described those vocals as "a breath of dewy spring air" and gave the song an "A", but Joseph Brannigan Lynch of Entertainment Weekly thought Emma was not "much of a singer" and gave the number a "B−", though he said "the curiosity of backup vocals from Coach Beiste and Sue Sylvester made this entirely worthwhile".

During the village's 500th Anniversary, Hari kidnaps Scarlett Nicholls (Kelsey-Beth Crossley) and runs Louise off the road, while she is on her way to change her statement about the Kings. Hari then corners Louise in hospital, blaming her for losing everything as the prosecution have dropped the case against the brothers and Louise insults him, prompting Harry to attempt to smother her with a pillow. A nurse and a doctor enter and try to subdue Harry but he is too strong for them and tries to flee but is subdued by orderlies and eventually arrested and jailed. Rita Brannigan (Emma Kearney) discovers some financial irregularity at the vets and Paddy visits Hari on remand and attempts to buy his share of the vet's but Hari's offer is over the odds.

Reviewers were unhappy with most of the marriage storyline that involved Will, though they seemed satisfied with Emma's portion of it. Emily VanDerWerff of The A.V. Club said Will acted like a "jackass" throughout and called the storyline "so pathetic and sad", words echoed by Entertainment Weekly Joseph Brannigan Lynch, who wrote, "When Schue told New Directions, 'You guys are my family,' I was a little sad for him and a lotta sad for his parents." John Kubicek of BuddyTV proclaimed, "Will desperately needs to make some grown-up friends", a sentiment echoed by HuffPost TV Crystal Bell. Lynch was critical of the scene where Will tells Emma they cannot marry because of her illness: he felt "using the phrase 'it's hopeless' in reference to her mental disorder" was too extreme.

Billy West provides the voice of Fry. Although Billy West stated in an interview that the name "Philip" was given to Fry by Matt Groening as a homage to the late Phil Hartman, for whom the role of Zapp Brannigan was created, Groening said during the 2013 Futurama panel at the San Diego Comic-Con that Fry was in fact named after Groening's father, Homer Philip Groening, who was also the namesake for Homer Simpson. According to Groening, Fry's character developed over time while still keeping his qualities as a loser and the characteristics which writers hoped would make him appeal to the target young male audience. Fry's character is essentially a bungling, stubborn slob with a heart of gold who cannot get ahead in the world, but still has a slight glimmer of hope.

Soon returning to active competition, Rickard captured the NWA British Empire/Commonwealth Championship from Butcher Brannigan in 1983 before losing the title to Larry O'Day that same year. After the cancellation of On the Mat in 1984, Rickard retired and became a hotel manager. Though no longer active in professional wrestling, Rickard did grant an interview to Kiwi Pro Wrestling, one of New Zealand's three major companies, which was later published on its website in August 2007. Three years later, one of Rickard's matches, a tag team match between him and Kid Hardy against Merv Fortune and Larry O'Day (July 29, 1980) at the Canterbury Court Stadium, was included in one of two episodes of On the Mat chosen to be shown on NZ On Screen in early-2010.

Avis formed her production company Alchemy Pictures in 2010, and began directing and producing branded commercial content, eventually landing clients such as Mercedes-Benz, Coca-Cola, Red Bull, Pfizer, and the Cali Group. She wrote and directed multiple spots for technology client Miso Robotics featuring the AI robot "Flippy", which has garnered over 1 billion impressions to date, and has been featured on websites such as Forbes, TechCrunch, and The Wall Street Journal. In 2013, Avis was hired by producer Todd Labarowski of Dreambridge Films to write the screenplay adaptation of the novel The Cybil Raven Chronicles, based on the novel by Tony Timbol and Crystal Craven. In 2015, Avis made her directorial debut with the psychological thriller Deserted, starring Mischa Barton, Winter Ave Zoli, Trent Ford, Jake Busey, Sebastian Bach, Gerry Bednob, Jackson Davis, and Kelly Brannigan.

As January began Aaron Barry returned from a successful loan spell at Dumbarton having played over 20 times for the Sons, before United knocked Premiership side Aston Villa out of the FA Cup following a 2–1 third round at Villa Park. The following week saw a flurry of arrivals and departures as Elliott Whitehouse returned from his loan spell at York City, whilst Joe Ironside returned from Halifax Town, Callum McFadzean returned from Chesterfield and youngster Jahmal Smith joined Harrogate Town on a months loan. Conor Coady then extended his loan with United until the end of February, and Darryl Westlake extended his loan with Mansfield Town until the end of the season. However, later that same night, "Classical" Bryan Leo would use the opportunity that Mr. Sy gave him earlier in the show after defeating Mayhem Brannigan for a future shot at the PWR Championship, and subsequently defeated De Leon, becoming the new champion. De Leon won the inaugural Path of Gold Tournament at PWR: Terminus for the right to face then PWR Champion Ralph Imabayashi, who was defeated by "Classical" Bryan Leo. The scheduled match would then turn into a triple threat match for the PWR Championship at Wrevolution X 2016. De Leon would regain the PWR Championship when he defeated Leo and Imabayashi at Wrevolution X. In August 2016, PWR held its first ever house show with Asia Pop Comic Convention in which Jake successfully defended his title in three matches throughout the course of the three-day event.

Jen Chaney of The Washington Post said it "worked much better than every track that preceded it" in the episode because it adapted the song to the show "instead of trying to out-Jackson Jackson." Entertainment Weekly Joseph Brannigan Lynch called it "a nice summation of her character's journey, but not vocally impressive enough to justify listening to outside of the episode"; Crystal Bell of HuffPost TV described it as a "blah performance", but Kate Stanhope of TV Guide said it was "sweet and reflective." Futterman of Rolling Stone wrote that it was "a tune well-suited for Quinn's sultry voice and the flipped meaning she gives the lyrics", and TVLine Michael Slezak had a similar take, calling it a "remarkably lovely fit" for her voice. The character's stories in this season were less well-received.

At the time of filming, the Trafalgar Square post office occupied not only its current footprint, but extended throughout the adjoining commercial spaces, and was marked by an unusually shaped sign extending out from the corner of the building. It contains a piece of footage of the inside of the Garrick Club, which traditionally does not allow cameras and was only agreed to as Richard Attenborough was a long-term member. In the scene in which Brannigan and Commander Swann are at the bar in the Garrick Club, on the wall behind them are portraits of Laurence Olivier and John Gielgud, both in Garrick Club ties. After a Chicago Police officer was depicted in an unflattering light in an episode of the 1957–60 television series M Squad, then-Mayor Richard J. Daley thereafter discouraged motion picture and television location filming in the city for the rest of his administration and its aftermath.

In 1971 the Aldeburgh Festival once again staged Noye's Fludde at Orford; a full television broadcast of the production, transferred to Snape Maltings, was made by the BBC, conducted by Steuart Bedford under the composer's supervision, with Brannigan resuming the role of Noah, Sheila Rex as his wife, and Lumsden as the Voice of God. Noye's Fludde: special performance in a rehearsal hall at the Santa Fe Opera, 11 August 2013 In 1972 Jonathan Miller directed his first opera with a production of Noye's Fludde, staged during 21–23 December at the Roundhouse Theatre, London. The adult roles were taken by Michael Williams (God), Bryan Drake (Noah) and Isabelle Lucas (Mrs Noah), and the conductor was John Lubbock. Among less conventional productions, in September 2005 Noye's Fludde was performed at Nuremberg zoo, in a production by the Internationales Kammermusikfestival Nürnberg involving around 180 children from Nuremberg and from England, directed by Nina Kühner, conducted by Peter Selwyn.

KFDI-FM has been playing country music since about 1972. Until 2002, the KFDI calls were also on sister station 1070 AM (now KFTI; the AM station first went on the air in 1962). Oatman, Burford, Collins, Western, Scott and Donahue are members of the Country Music Disc Jockey's Hall of Fame.

The Axemen recorded the concert, as well as studio versions of their songs and released a 45 min cassette entitled, "Big Cheap Motel".Collett, H. (1984). p. 34, "Adverts inspire Axemen", The New Zealand Times. 4 November 1984 Siltbreeze later the same year re-released 'Scary! pt III', an experimental album featuring small-form collaborations with sublime Chch artist Lissa Bruce, and multiple band incarnations from the late 1980s and early 1990s. A four piece Axemen (McCabe, Brannigan, Kawowski & Stojanovic) toured the United States for five weeks in October and November 2009, opening for Times New Viking Starting out on the West Coast in Sacramento 27 October, travelling down the West Coast, across the South, up the east to New York then heading west and ending in Chicago on 28 November. The band played 26 shows and covered approx 7,000 miles on the tour. The Axemen's debut 2xLP "Three Virgins :: Three Versions :: Three Visions" was re- issued and released on 7 June 2011 by Siltbreeze.

Hibiscus in flower in front yard of her Paddington home, March 2014 Antique fountain originally in Margaret Olley's Paddington garden, now part of Wendy Whiteley's garden at Lavender Bay After Olley's death, the Art Gallery of New South Wales used funds donated by its Collection Circle to purchase Nasturtiums, a painting by E. Phillips Fox as a memorial to her. Her ideas about art were explored in conversations held between 19 October 2009 and 22 September 2010 with author Barry Pearce, whose book based on them was published in the year of her death. Part of Olley's Paddington house, well known for its items that the painter collected and used as subject matter for her art, described as "her lifelong installation", has been recreated at the Tweed River Art Gallery, an area not far from where the artist was born. The architect of the Tweed's new Margaret Olley Centre, Bud Brannigan, said that it would be faithful to Olley's house, "in all of its glory".

Anthony Benigno of The Faster Times characterized the scene with Kurt and Karofsky as "subtle" and "a home run", and Entertainment Weekly Abby West called it a "perfect little nuanced scene", while Michael Ausiello of TVLine said it was his "favorite scene of the episode". His next appearance in "Heart", again with Kurt, was described by Slezak as "electric, with Kurt tenderly giving the 'just friends' speech to Dave". Entertainment Weekly Joseph Brannigan Lynch thought the plot of having Karofsky be Kurt's secret admirer was "vaguely stalker-ish on Karofsky's part, and contrived on the part of the show", and Robert Canning of IGN predicted that after Karofsky had been seen by his classmate, it would "just be an episode or two before Karofsky gets bullied into thinking about suicide, if not actually taking his own life". When he reviewed the next episode, "On My Way", which featured Karofsky's suicide attempt, Canning stated that his "cynicism [in the "Heart" review] was won over by a powerfully acted and directed story".

Local English schoolmaster, musician and songwriter John Gair "Jack" Robson, wrote the song Cullercoats Bay. Copyrighted in 1950, and performed by Owen Brannigan/Gerald Moore in 1960, the lyrics sing the praises of the town, claiming: :In many strange lands o'er the ocean I've been, :And countless the beautiful sights I have seen, :But I'm a Tynesider, and proudly must say, :I've seen nothing finer than Cullercoats Bay. The song "Tunnel of Love" by the British rock band Dire Straits, which was included on their 1980 album Making Movies, mentions Cullercoats.

Watson began his political career as a councillor for the Marton ward of the Rangitikei District Council in the 2004 local elections. As a councillor he was chosen as Deputy Mayor by Mayor Bob Buchanan. He served in this role for two terms. With mayor Buchanan departing, in 2007 Watson challenged for the mayoralty with the other contenders being Chalky Leary, Marilyn Craig, Nick Eddy and three others. Watson came in second place as Leary was elected receiving 1,639 votes or 31.0% of the votes with a majority of 233 votes or 4.4% over Watson. Watson did not challenge for the mayoralty in 2010 and Leary was elected unopposed. In 2013 Leary was seeking a third term but his mayoralty was challenged for the first time. Watson entered the race, as well as Fresh Future Focus candidate Maree Brannigan and Taihape ward councillor Richard Aslett. Watson was elected by obtaining 1,983 votes (41.5%) of the total votes and a majority of 486 (10.2%) defeating incumbent mayor Chalky Leary, who received 1,497 votes.
