On 27 December 1855 the line from Oerlikon to Winterthur via Wallisellen station was established by the Schweizerische Nordostbahn (NOB), and a temporary wooden railway station was built by A. In the early 1960s Lawrence Shehan decided to build an Archdiocesan Catholic high school on an site in Bel Air. The John Carroll School opened to 202 freshmen on September 9, 1964 under the leadership of Raymond Wanner. From its earliest days, the school was run by clergy, religious, and laity. The church at Manton, originally not Amish, was started by people, who came from Le Roy, Michigan, a horse-and-buggy, but eagerly evangelistic church that was founded in 1981 by Harry Wanner (1935–2012), an awakened minister of Stauffer Old Order Mennonite background. In 1994 the church at Le Roy disbanded. The church at Manton eventually joined the Old Order Amish. The Church at Smyrna, Maine, originally affiliated with the "Christian Communities" of Elmo Stoll, also more evangelistic and open to seekers, affiliated with Manton after the "Christian Communities" disbanded after Stoll's early death.

There are station bells above the rear exit of the large hall. In the 1847 station, bells rang before each departure of the Spanisch-Brötli-Bahn. The signal order prescribed as follows: "10 minutes before the departure of a train, one [bell]; 5 minutes before the same, two [bells]; and immediately prior to departure, three bells". For the 1871 renovations, the architect Jakob Friedrich Wanner gave the station clock the place of honour in the portal above the main entrance, and the bells were placed in a small tower in the east facade.

In 1897, French paleontologist Fernand Priem described a single tooth from the Köpinge Sandstone in Scania, Sweden under the taxon Lamna borealis. This would be revised to 'Cretolamna borealis' by Glickman in a 1980 paper. In 1902, German paleontologist Johannes Wanner described teeth from Egyptian Cretaceous deposits near the Dakhla Oasis and Farafra. He noted that the teeth are almost identical with that of the Otodus appendiculatus teeth, except that the Egyptian teeth also contained two clear pairs of lateral cusplets (a feature not seen in Otodus appendiculatus).

This subspecies would also be elevated to its own species in 1991.

Like many other the port of Westhafen WanneWesthafen Wanne is more clearly on the north bank of the canal, with Osthafen Wanne almost directly opposite on the south bank. Both are just east of the Schleuse Wanne-Eickel (Wanne-Eickel lock) (Wanne west harbour) was originally built for the mutual benefit of the mines and canal, with a railway connecting the two. Today the quayside still has coal traffic and associated industries. The docks of the port at Wanner West were filled in to make room for the Güterverkehrszentrum Emscher - a logistics (road, rail and river) centre working in association with other companies.

At the Final Tribal Council, Fitzgerald was criticized for her perceived weakness at the start of the game, but praised for getting stronger as the game progressed. Entrance to the station building, 2011 Five years after the opening of the provisional building, the first real station was built, under the direction of the architect Jakob Friedrich Wanner, who, together with A. Beck, was responsible for the design. The builder, Meier, came from Winterthur, and the train shed was built by the firm Benkiser of Pforzheim. In 1875, its first expansion was completed, to coincide with the commencement of the Winterthur operations of the Tösstalbahn and the Nationalbahn. This expansion consisted of an extension to each side of the station building equal to the width of four window bays, in order to create space for new waiting rooms.

In 2015 Wanner was also one of three judges of the Etisalat Prize for Literature, a Pan-African literary prize for book-length fiction, and she was the African juror for the Commonwealth Short Story Prize 2017. She has also been the founder and curator of Artistic Encounters in Nairobi, Kenya. Kirkus reviews called the novel a "beautifully composed, unflinching and harrowing story". Nicholas Dinka in their Quill & Quire review mentions that the novel has "much decency and intelligence" and both the stories of the novel are "entirely plausible" but criticises for "remarkable dourness of its prose". While Dennis Lythgoe of Deseret News noted that "Bergen's book lives and breathes the Vietnam experience"; Ron Charles in his The Washington Post review mentioned that "Bergen's ability to dramatize trauma-induced disaffection is undeniable; whether readers will want to sink down that hole with his characters is less clear". Irene Wanner of The Seattle Times appreciated the novel for its writing.

He then worked as a postdoctoral fellow at the University of Colorado Boulder in what was then the new field of symplectic geometry. After meeting Jürgen Moser, who was visiting Boulder at the time, McLachlan spent six months on a postdoctoral fellowship in Switzerland, at the Swiss Federal Institute of Technology in Zurich. McLachlan joined Massey University in Palmerston North in 1994, and began a collaboration with Reinout Quispel at La Trobe University that resulted in over 26 publications on geometric integration. In 2002 he became Professor of Applied Mathematics at Massey, and spent a year's sabbatical at the University of Geneva, working with Gerhard Wanner and Ernst Hairer, and the Norwegian Academy of Sciences in Oslo.

Rice has received five honorary doctorates degrees. His first honorary degree was a doctorate in Engineering from Notre Dame in 1975; his second, in Management, was from Purdue in 1985; he received a third, in Laws, from Pepperdine in 1989; the fourth, was in Humane Letters, from West Coast University in 1993; and the most recent, in Public Policy, from the RAND graduate school in 1995. In 1999, Rice received the Wanner Award from the Military Operations Research Society. Other awards include the Citation Award from the University of California at Los Angeles School of Engineering and Applied Sciences, the Air Force Association’s Symington Award, and the Jaycees’ Ten Outstanding Young Men recognition.

The triangular junction allowed the direct connection of the Zürich–Zug, Zug–Lucerne and Lucerne–Zürich lines. Altstetten station was redesigned as a Keilbahnhof (a station located between branching tracks) for the connection of the ZZL to the NOB’s Zürich–Brugg line and a new station building was built to plans by Jakob Friedrich Wanner. The same architect was responsible for the design of Zug station which was located on today's Bundesplatz and had a track triangle for turning trains. The ZZL route ended at the Untergrund yard where it connected with the Lucerne–Emmenbrücke(–Olten) line opened by the SCB in 1859, which had to be used to reach Lucerne station, which also belonged to the SCB.

Originally envisaged as a dictionary in four volumes, the first fascicle was published in 1881. From 1896, the project was led by Albert Bachmann (1863-1934), under whose editorship, the scope and depth of the project was greatly expanded; Bachmann endeavored to put the Idiotikon on the level with the other "national dictionary" projects edited in Germanic Europe at the time, the Deutsches Wörterbuch, Woordenboek der Nederlandsche Taal, Oxford English Dictionary and Svenska Akademiens ordbok. In this sense, the Idiotikon is the "national dictionary" of Alemannic Switzerland. After Bachmann's death in 1934, the project was led by five editors-in-chief: Otto Gröger (1934–1951), Hans Wanner (1951–1974), Peter Dalcher (1974–1991), Peter Ott (1991–2005) and Hans-Peter Schifferle (2005 to present).

Kevin Wanner compares the use of a sliding timescale in comics to the way ageless figures in myths are depicted interacting with the contemporary world of the storyteller. When certain stories in comics, especially origin stories, are rewritten, they often retain key events but are updated to a contemporary time, such as with the comic book character Tony Stark, who invents his Iron Man armor in a different war depending on when the story is told. Wanner, Construction history and lifeways in the civilian settlement of Porolissum as observed in area 22 of the Porolissum Forum Project, forthcoming in Acta Musei Porolissensis From 2006 until 2011, another project, "Necropolis Porolissensis", was running focused on the cemetery of the municipium Porolissum, on the spot known as "Ursoies". From 2008 to 2011 a Romanian- German-Hungarian team was excavating an underground-building in the centre of the castle, probably a water cistern. In 2015, archaeologists from Zalău County Museum unearthed a stone sarcophagus containing skeletal remains of a young person. The sarcophagus is unusual because it was not found in the cemetery, rather it was discovered by chance during restoration of another part of the ruins.

In 1940, Stalinist agent Ramón Mercader murdered Trotsky at the latter's residence in Mexico. Orwell declared, in a letter to American writer Sidney Sheldon, that Nineteen Eighty Four was inspired by the U.S.S.R. under Stalin, imagining what would happen if such a social and political movement existed in England: Orwell wrote of Trotskyism: In 1954, Isaac Deutscher wrote that Goldstein's book in Nineteen Eighty-Four was intended as a "paraphrase" of The Revolution Betrayed. In 1956, Irving Howe described Goldstein's book as "clearly a replica" of Trotsky's The Revolution Betrayed, writing that the parts that seemed to be imitating Trotsky were "among the best passages" of the novel. Critic Adrian Wanner, writing in a collection of essays edited by Harold Bloom, described Goldstein's book as a "parody" of The Revolution Betrayed, noting that Orwell was deeply ambivalent about Trotsky.

The 2019 Festival films featured a film by Nadine Ibrahim titled Marked; a documentary about tribal marks in Nigeria, Malaika; an animated film by Roye Okupe and Toni Morrison's The Pieces I Am. Three writing workshops took place simultaneously during the festival, titled "Fiction-Writing", "Storytelling With Film" and "Culture Journalism" with brilliant facilitators like Nicole Dennis-Benn, Jennifer Makumbi and Sulaiman Addonia - for Fiction-Writing, Adepero Oduye, Nadine Ibrahim and Tolu Ajayi - For Storytelling With Film and Gary Younge, Adrian Harewood and Nichelle Smith - For Culture Journalism. In attendance were a wide array of guests including Ayobami Adebayo, Nnedi Okorafor, Mona Eltahawy, Tsitsi Dangarembga (the headliner), Tope Folarin, Zukiswa Wanner, Kola Tubosun, Fred Khumalo, Wayetu Moore, Jibrin Ibrahim, Yolande Mukagasana, Tolu Daniel, Temi Oh, Dakore Egbuson-Akande, Fakhrriyyah Hashim, Arit Okpo, Ayodeji Osowobi, Howard Maximus, Abdourahman Waberi, Molara Wood, Sylvia Ofili, Gavin Evans, Reni Eddo-Lodge, Hakim Adi amongst others.

José Miguel Boissard Ramírez (born December 4, 1978 in San Cristóbal) is a judoka from the Dominican Republic, who competed in the men's half- middleweight category. He picked up a total of twelve medals in his career, including two bronzes from the Pan American Judo Championships, attained a fifth-place finish in the 81-kg division at the 2003 Pan American Games in Santo Domingo, and represented his nation Dominican Republic at the 2004 Summer Olympics. Boissard qualified for the Dominican Republic squad in the men's half-middleweight category at the 2004 Summer Olympics in Athens, by placing seventh and receiving a berth from the Pan American Championships in Margarita Island, Venezuela. He lost his opening match to Germany's Florian Wanner, who placed him into an upper four-quarter hold (kami shiho gatame) to score an ippon victory at one minute and twenty-three seconds.

While the State was busy engaging in activities that would eventually lead the facility into better patient living conditions over the next few years at the Dunning facility, the County seemed determined to stay its course of suspicious politics and questionable decisions. Many people in both large and small communities had a low tolerance level for a number of ailments, with issues such as poverty being viewed as "proof" someone must be "sick" in order to live such a way. Definitions of compassion ranged from providing for fresh air in the architecture design while others were busy practicing some form of eugenics to speed the process of biological death. Records indicate 5 bids were submitted for consideration as presented by Superintendent of Public Service for Cook County William McLaren opened the bids at a Board of Commissioners meeting on December 9, 1907; two from Edward A. Wanner, one from the law firm of Fischer & Fischer on behalf of Bernhard H. Franzen, George L. Thatcher of Thatcher, Griffin and Wright, and C. L. Buss.

The Festival Film was Hissene Habre, a Chadian tragedy by Mahamat Saleh Haroun, its screening followed by an interview with Clement Abaifouta, president of the Chadian Victim's Association, which fought to bring Hissene Habre to justice. Abaifouta was himself arrested in July 1985 by Habre's notorious political police because he was suspected of having links to the opposition.
