Part of the definition of a machine gun per United States federal law is "Any weapon which shoots, is designed to shoot, or can be readily restored to shoot, automatically more than one shot without manual reloading, by a single function of the trigger". However, per the manufacturer, the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, Firearms and Explosives (ATF) has stated that the Thunderstruck "...does not meet the ATF definition of a 'machine gun'." Reportedly, this is because the two rounds are fired simultaneously, not sequentially.

French cooperation was deemed necessary to the campaign, and Eisenhower encountered a "preposterous situation" with the multiple rival factions in France. His primary objective was to move forces successfully into Tunisia, and intending to facilitate that objective, he gave his support to François Darlan as High Commissioner in North Africa, despite Darlan's previous high offices of state in Vichy France and his continued role as commander-in-chief of the French armed forces. The Allied leaders were "thunderstruck" by this from a political standpoint, though none of them had offered Eisenhower guidance with the problem in the course of planning the operation. Eisenhower was severely criticized for the move.

It would be called a refers to the fourth case, that is, the dative). Incidentally, the word "tatpuruṣa" is itself a tatpuruṣa (meaning a "that-man", in the sense of "that person's man", meaning someone's agent), while "caturthītatpuruṣa" is a karmadhāraya, being both dative and a tatpuruṣa. An easy way to understand it is to look at English examples of tatpuruṣas: "battlefield", where there is a genitive relationship between "field" and "battle", "a field of battle"; other examples include instrumental relationships ("thunderstruck") and locative relationships ("town-dwelling"). All these normal Tatpuruṣa compounds are called , because the case ending should depend upon the second member because semantically the second member has primacy, but actually the case ending depends upon the first member.
"Burnin' Alive" was written about the cult followers in Waco, Texas, who were burnt to death in 1993 during a raid by the authorities, while "Hard as a Rock," the album's first single, dated back to the Who Made Who sessionsEngleheart & Durieux, p. 422 The music video for "Hard as a Rock" was directed by David Mallet and was set at the Bray Studios in Windsor, Berkshire. John Williams attributes his piece Tree Song for Violin and Orchestra in a large part to Hu. The first movement of the piece is entitled "Dr. Hu and the Meta-Sequoia". He described the following experience in his note for the premiere in 2000: > During our stroll we casually paused in front of a large tree that I hadn't > looked at closely enough to recognize immediately. Pointing to the tree, Dr. > Hu explained that this tree was the oldest metasequoia in North America and > that she had planted it in the late 1940s using seeds she had brought with > her from China. I was thunderstruck by this coincidence, and when I told her > of “my” metasequoia in the Public Garden she informed me that the younger > tree I loved so much was also one of her children.
Everyone in town is expecting the Christmas pageant to be a disaster, but the Herdmans' unconventional performances actually make the whole show much more realistic and moving: instead of walking on and off stage like actors, the Herdmans are a little uncertain about where to go and what to do, as the real-life Holy Family and Wise Men must have been; instead of laying the doll representing Jesus in the manger, Imogene insists on holding it, as if it is really her child; the Wise Men choose to bring the baby Jesus a ham from the Herdmans' own gift basket instead of the "crummy" frankincense and myrhh from the story; the shepherds are sufficiently terrified of Gladys to look authentically awed by her announcement of Jesus's birth; and during the final scene, the narrator looks over from the choir and is thunderstruck to see Imogene weeping softly while hugging the "baby". By common agreement, it is the best Christmas pageant the town has ever had.
Travellers returning from the Crimea also carried the plague to Byzantium and Arabia, according to Greek and Arab scholars of the time. Another account of the events in the Crimea reads: > It seemed to the besieged Christians as if arrows were shot out of the sky > to strike and humble the pride of the infidels who rapidly died with marks > on their bodies and lumps in their joints and several part, followed by > putrid fever; all advice and help of the doctors being of no avail. > Whereupon the Tartars, worn out by this pestilential disease, and falling on > all sides as if thunderstruck, and seeing that they were perishing > hopelessly, ordered the corpses to be placed upon their engines and thrown > into the city of Kaffa. Accordingly were the bodies of the dead hurled over > the walls, so that the Christians were not able to hide or protect > themselves from this danger, although they carried away as many dead as > possible and threw them into the sea.
