When we did my our walkthrough to see what Google was collecting about us and attempted to disable all location history on an iPhone, we had a different experience than the AP. In this way, I think, Mr. Robot sneakily rediscovered its relevance, and I hope as more people catch up with the series on streaming, they'll spark to that (or maybe to the unexpected but welcome romantic tension between Grace Gummer's Dom and Carly Chaikin's Darlene, or maybe to the series' welcome return to episodes that stand alone as episodes, or maybe to its still thrilling sense of cinematic self, or maybe just to Bobby Cannavale's deeply weird performance as Dark Army specialist Irving).
Sneakily, there's some Season 6 footage spliced in with the Season 7 shots, which makes it hard to tell which visual effects are old and which are new — but the video does feature Daenerys Targaryen riding one of her dragons into battle against a greenscreen backdrop, and judging by her costume, this is part of her battle against the Lannister army, which was previewed in the Season 7 trailer and this photo of a dragon roasting some unwitting Lannister soldiers.
Bands like Misþyrming, Naðra, and Sinmara have sold out multiple pressings and become underground festival staples; the country's annual metal festival, Eistnaflug, has become a major player on the European festival circuit; and the scene has grown and evolved so much in the past few years that it may as well be on its own Second (or even Third?) wave—and that's to say nothing of scene OGs Svartidauði, who just sneakily released a scorching new EP earlier this month.
In the end, if the legacy of the original iMac is enough to get Apple to spruce up the next batch of iPhones with fun, lively colors, that's something I can get down with—just so long as we don't let our emotions prevent us from seeing the iMac G3 as it really was: a sneakily expensive, yet frustrating all-in-one that wasn't actually all that fast, with an innovative, but not fully polished design, an awful mouse, and a great color scheme.
