At the same time, players of Dead Island: Riptide were having similar issues on Steam.
She returned to defend the belt at RQW's annual No Pain, No Gain event in January 2008 against Jetta with Sweet Saraya as the referee. It came to an abrupt end when Jetta walked out, resulting in a count out, due to a legitimate injury that caused her to collapse afterwards, leading to their aforementioned match in ACW's Riptide II where Wesna won again. In July of that year, in Vienna, she put up the RQW Championship, along with her WSA Women's European Championship against the World Association of Women's Wrestling (WAWW) British Champion Sweet Saraya in a triple crown match. The song's first few chords and opening two lines were originally written at Joy's Glen Iris, Melbourne, home in 2008—the same song title was used, but he initially shelved the song. Years after his experience in university and a VFL career, Joy started doing open mic gigs in Melbourne, Australia, which eventually led to a legitimate music career. When recording the song in 2012, a year before the EP came out, Joy was writing a song that reminded him of the shelved "Riptide" draft from 2008—he then combined the 2008 effort with his current project at the time. A rough version of the song was uploaded on his personal Facebook account.

Timothy Monger from AllMusic noted that the album is "built around the centerpiece of "Riptide" and that it "offers up a dozen or so additional songs in that familiar mold of romantic, introspective, acoustic folk-pop". He felt that the album "focuses on gently picked lovelorn pleas and somewhat uninspired romantic phrasing" and commented that it "seems a bit too middle of the road to really distinguish him from the crowded pack of similar young bards." Clash writer Jack Scourfield praised the album's "heartfelt honesty" that can "spread the youthful nostalgia adeptly across any generational gaps." He also noted that the album "does become prone to dragging during some of its less well-defined, slower numbers.

In 1932, Tashman entered the hospital in New York City for an appendectomy that is now considered a concealment for abdominal cancer. She left the hospital thin and weak. Although she made five films in her last years, performing with her usual artistry and professionalism, she weakened significantly in the months following her hospitalization and her role in Riptide (1934 film) was trimmed because of her ever-worsening health. In February 1934, she flew to New York City to film Frankie and Johnny (1936 film) for All Star Productions (released by Republic Pictures) but her condition necessitated a week of rest in Connecticut with Lowe.

"Communication" was not as successful, reaching #34 in the United States, but disappeared after hitting #75 in the United Kingdom. The band also released a collection of their three music videos called The Power Station Video EP. The group's unexpected success led to two incompatible results: first, they decided to headline a summer tour in America with Paul Young, Nik Kershaw, The Bongos, and Orchestral Manoeuvres in the Dark; second, Robert Palmer decided to record a solo album to take advantage of his sudden name recognition. This led to Palmer's departure from the band. (Tony Thompson, Andy Taylor, and future Power Station bass player Bernard Edwards all contributed to Palmer's highly successful 1985 solo album Riptide).

In January 2013, Deep Silver announced a special edition of their then-upcoming game Dead Island: Riptide, titled Zombie Bait Edition, which would include a statuette of a mutilated female torso in Europe and Australia. In January 2019, Deep Silver partnered with Epic Games on a one-year exclusivity deal for the personal computer (PC) version of their upcoming game Metro Exodus on Epic's digital distribution storefront, the Epic Games Store.

Video games have been criticized for depicting violence against women. For example, the 2013 game Dead Island: Riptide generated controversy when the special "zombie bait" edition of the game included a statue of a torso of a busty, dismembered woman in a skimpy bikini. While much of the Grand Theft Auto franchise has had issues with claims of violence against women, Rockstar North's Grand Theft Auto V was also surrounded in much criticism; so much so that the sale of it was banned by certain retailers in Australia. The 1982 game Custer's Revenge was first noted for containing elements of rape and some Native American groups and the National Organization for Women have criticised this as well as alleged racism.

After the PC issue was rectified, a further statement was published to alert customers that they could now use this type of gameplay. A day after the co-op issues with Star Trek were resolved, the Dead Island: Riptide problems were also corrected, with speculation by reviewers presuming that it was the same error in both games.

With the advent of television in Australia in the mid-1950s, sponsorship for quality radio drama dried up, and radio stations moved to quiz shows, talkback, and popular music programming. Local TV production at first centred on advertising, of which lucrative market Crocker had her share, but success in drama largely eluded her, perhaps on account of her diminutive stature, until she was cast as "Eileen Chester", a woman with two errant daughters, Debbie and Jane Chester (Dina Mann and Suzanne Church) in serial Number 96. Her character's life ended with a shark attack in Queensland. Other TV credits included the serials The Outsiders, Luke's Kingdom, Matlock Police, Homicide and Riptide, as well as the TV movie White Man's LegendIMDB Patti Crocker Actress Retrieved 21 January 2020.

"When I wrote 'Sunflower' I came up with the title because my Mum used to grow Sunflowers at the bottom of the garden when I was a little girl, and I really felt the urge to use that and turn it into a lyric. It's one of the saddest songs I have written, but I just desperately needed to – it helped me in the grieving process after losing my Mum and it helps me every day when I sing it on stage". "Riptide" and "Sunflower" were each written in less than a day. BBC Radio 2 again playlisted the new single on 28 September 2013, and further support followed from iTunes when the track became their Single of the Week in the UK, Ireland, Russia and India on 22 October 2013.
Toby King is hired as defense for Knightsabre. During the lengthy trial, after analyzing the memory banks of cybernetic Youngblood member Diehard, King proposes that a mythical book, which Riptide possessed months before her death, was responsible for the events, piecing together many statements about the lengthy history of the book, which was created by Hermes, the god associated with language, who gave it to Glory's mother, who subsequently buried it in Earth during its creation. The book alters reality when somebody writes upon it, and it has been acquired by many powerful figures over centuries, including the creature who would become Youngblood's Troll and puritan immortal serial killer Deliverance Drue. Drue was defeated when Wild West-era superhero Kid Thunder literally crossed Drue out of existence, with Drue swearing a curse on Thunder's descendants.

He is perhaps best known for writing and co-executive producing the popular series Xena: Warrior Princess, as well as his subsequent creation Sheena, based on the comic book of the same name. While he initially began his career as an actor, Sears found great creative success with his writing and began to pursue it full-time in 1984 (with the series Riptide), accumulating an impressive resume as staff writer, story editor and producer on such shows as Stingray, The A-Team, J.J. Starbuck, The Highwayman, Father Dowling Mysteries, Swamp Thing, and Raven. In addition, he has written for shows such as Hardcastle and McCormick, Superboy, The Hollywood Detective, Jesse Hawkes, Hardball, Grand Slam, and Walker, Texas Ranger.
"My Old Piano" was also a top ten single for Ross in the United Kingdom. Rodgers co-produced David Bowie's 1983 album Let's Dance and was also responsible largely for the early success of Madonna during 1984 with her Like a Virgin album, which again reunited Rodgers, Thompson, and Edwards, with keyboardist Rob Sabino and collaborators Jeff Bova, Jimmy Bralower and Oren Bar. During 1984, Rodgers was involved with a project of the band The Honeydrippers and helped produce that band's only EP. Thompson and Edwards worked with the group Power Station on its successful 1985 album, as well as Power Station main singer Robert Palmer's solo success Riptide that same year, both of which Edwards produced. 1985 saw Rodgers producing the Thompson Twins successful Here's to Future Days album, and appearing live with them and Madonna at Live Aid in Philadelphia.
After he served three years in San Quentin, Jim was released in 1997 and returned to run the O'Farrell Theatre. Jim established the "Artie Fund" to collect money for a local drug rehabilitation center and for the Surf Rescue Squad of the San Francisco Fire Department. (In 1990, Artie had been caught in a riptide off Ocean Beach in San Francisco, Jim had paddled out to help, and the Surf Rescue Squad had aided in the rescue of both of them; the Mitchells, out of gratitude, issued lifetime O'Farrell passes to the squad members.) Artie's children have denounced the fund, claiming that it is intended to whitewash Artie's murder. On their website, they describe their father's murder as premeditated and motivated by greed and jealousy, and claim that the depictions of Artie in the books and movie are inaccurate.
This was the first series to come from Stephen J. Cannell Productions as an independent company (it was distributed through Paramount Television, one of only two such collaborations - the other was Riptide) and is also the only one not to carry the famed Cannell logo on any episodes, having "A Stephen J. Cannell Production" appearing in-credit (the logo was introduced in 1981 when The Greatest American Hero began airing). The show had broad similarities to the later television series Simon & Simon and Moonlighting, in that it was a lightly dramatic program with many comedic moments about two dissimilar detectives who attempt to solve cases together. Cannell recycled the basic idea of Tenspeed and Brown Shoe (a crime-solver on the right side of the law working with and taking responsibility for the rehabilitation of an ex-criminal) in watered-down form as the successful Hardcastle and McCormick.
Notable games that year were exhibitions against Danish club Viborg FF and a game featuring a team of several former New York Cosmos players. Imperials players of note that year were Rob Johnson and Petter Villegas, both of which would go on to play for the MetroStars, and Altimont Butler, who would play for the San Jose Clash. The 1997 Season saw the Imperials continue their tenure at FDU's University Stadium. The Imperials fell in the D3 semi finals (by shoot out) to the Central Jersey Riptide. This season was notable as 18-year-old Tim Howard, from North Brunswick, was the starting goalkeeper for the Imperials. Howard went on to the join the MetroStars for the 1998 season. He was then transferred to Manchester United in 2003 and has been the starting goalkeeper at Everton from 2006 (loan in 2006, transferred in 2007).
The school's mascot was originally a caricature of a Native American, and the teams were referred to as the Redskins. However, that was changed recently due to concerns that the mascot was a racist caricature, and the official mascot was changed to that of a Redhawk in 2001, based on student body nominations.Sullivan, Patrick J. Freddie King retired as musical director in 1996, and the chorus was directed for several years by Jim Kraus, a former music student of King's in the Baltimore County school system. The chorus maintained around 50 members of the performing chorus, and hovered between 6th and 10th place in the Mid- Atlantic District chorus contests. Jim departed in 2003 and was replaced by Rick Taylor, who had directed many choruses in the past and had won several International Quartet bronze medals with the quartets BSQ and Riptide. The chorus grew in membership, with many formerly inactive singers returning. In October 2006, the chorus staged 109 singers for the Mid-Atlantic District contest and placed third, earning an 81.8% average. This score was high enough to earn a wild card invitation to the 2007 International Chorus contest, held at the Pepsi Center in Denver, Colorado on July 6, 2007.
After minor one-time roles on the television series Riptide and The Link Men, Maguire made his feature film debut in The Demonstrator with Joe James and Irene Inescort. In the film, he portrayed university student Steve Slater whose political differences with his father Joe Slater, a Federal cabinet minister, result in his leading a series of protests disrupting his father's activities in organising an international conference. The film was considered a commercial failure. Following this he starred in film Country Town (1971)Reade, Eric. History and Heartburn: The Saga of Australian Film, 1896–1978. Rutherford, New Jersey: Fairleigh Dickinson University Press, 1979. (pg. 171, 174) Country Town was a feature film spin-off from Australian Broadcasting Corporation soap opera Bellbird. Other members of the early Throw Rag were Scott "Barfly" Brooks (bass) and Tom "Colonel Riptide Tenmen" Lynn (banjo and vibes). By the end of 1994, Francis "Franco" Cronin (bass fiddle), Patrick "Dino" Bostrom (lead guitar), and Craig "Jacko" Jackman (lord of scum) had joined the band. From late 1996 through mid-1997, the band saw more lineup changes as Jacko left temporarily to be replaced on occasion by John Summers a.k.a.
Famous for being "press-shy" and private, much like the characters she portrays, Pfeiffer is notorious for disliking interviews, referring to herself as "the worst interviewee that ever was"; her interviews often feature discussions about how nervous the process makes her. Pfeiffer revealed that attending interviews to promote her films would make her very agitated and uncomfortable at one time, but she has always "mastered the art" of maintaining a composed, polite demeanor when performing such responsibilities. However, she maintains that "I still don't believe – and I never will – that it's the actors' responsibility to sell a film." Culture commentators noted that in 2014, Pfeiffer, who was not promoting any movies at the time, had become a "pop-music muse" and was mentioned by name in the lyrics of two separate songs moving up the charts at that time: "Uptown Funk" by Mark Ronson and Bruno Mars and "Riptide" by Vance Joy.
Throughout the first decade of the 2000s Eskelin focused primarily on his group with Andrea Parkins and Jim Black, touring and recording, occasionally augmenting the band with additional musicians such as vocalist Jessica Constable, keyboardist Philippe Gelda, cellist Erik Friedlander, tubist Joseph Daley, guitarist Marc Ribot and bassist Melvin Gibbs. Additionally, Eskelin continued to maintain long-time musical relationships established in the 1990s, touring and recording with bassist Mark Helias (recordings include Open Loose, Fictionary, Loopin' the Cool), drummer Gerry Hemingway ("Johnny's Corner Song", "Devil's Paradise", "Songs", "The Whimbler", "Riptide"), drummer Han Bennink ("Dissonant Characters"), drummer Bobby Previte ("Set the Alarm for Monday") and drummer Daniel Humair (Liberté Surveilé). Eskelin also forged new ties with musicians from around the globe such as oud player Rabih Abou- Khalil, pianist Satoko Fujii, trumpeter Dennis González, clarinetist Ben Goldberg, bassist Lisle Ellis, pianist Erik Deutsch and drummer John Hollenbeck. Eskelin also made a guest artist appearance on the BBC Electric Proms Festival in London with the Basquiat Strings in 2007.
Williams sold homemade CDs of her music at her early shows which led her to setting up her own record label, CAW Records, to release her debut album Dog Leap Stairs. After her second album, Little Black Numbers, was nominated for the Mercury Prize, she signed a licensing deal with Eastwest Records. Little Black Numbers reached No. 70 in the UK Albums Chart in 2001. Her influences include Nina Simone, Nick Drake, Joni Mitchell, Bob Dylan, John Lennon, Simon And Garfunkel and Velvet Underground. Throughout her career she has toured extensively solo and with bands as well as supporting roles with David Gray, Damien Rice, Ray LaMontagne, Damien Dempsey, Melanie, Be Good Tanyas, The Riptide Movement, David Gates, Beth Orton, and in 2006 she was a special guest on Tom McRae's Hotel Cafe Tour, In 2010, Williams signed with One Little Indian Records, who released her album The Quickening, produced by Kate St John later that year.
She later refuses to spend time with Adam when she realises that it has upset his father, and at one point joins Karl's family for dinner. In addition, it is shown that, despite her outwardly unemotional demeanour, Elise continues to be haunted by the death of her twin sister, whose photograph she keeps on her desk. This is seen when she rescues fourteen-year old Sophie Campbell, a runaway who had inadvertently run into TT while staying in the home of a mentally ill man who went on to perpetrate TT's "third truth," by tackling her off a pier and into the water beneath. When Karl notices the effect that it has had on her, Elise reveals that her sister had drowned when the two had been dragged out to sea by a riptide when her parents had taken them on a beach holiday, and that they had only managed to rescue her.
The 2018-19 NBL Season was one of the ages, as Salerno and the Magic reached multiple milestones. A 10-0 start to the season was good enough for the 2nd best start in NBL Canada history, on their way to an impressive 27-13 regular season record (a franchise best) and the number one overall seed in the NBL Canada Playoffs. This marked Salerno’s 8 straight trip to the postseason. In the Magic’s first season at the newly opened Avenir Centre, the team totaled a 24-4 home record, which was an NBL Canada milestone for best home record, on their way to finishing the season 38-16. The Magic were dominant in the 2019 NBL Playoffs, putting together an impressive 11-3 record, sweeping two of the three playoff rounds (3-0 Saint John Riptide, 4-0 St. John’s Edge) on the way to the organization first Championship, as well as the first of Salerno’s career.
Given the failed deal with DC and Liefeld's increasingly strained relationship with Marvel Comics over his X-Force royalties, he joined other Marvel artists to form Image Comics in order to publish Youngblood in their own series. Youngblood #1 would be an anthology consisting of two separate stories published in flip book format, meaning that reading the second story required the reader to turn the book upside down and begin reading with the back cover; not to be confused with animation flip books. The "A" story of Youngblood #1 would feature the organisation's "home team" (for domestic missions), consisting of Shaft, Badrock (originally named Bedrock), Chapel, Die Hard, Photon and Vogue; the "B" story would feature the "away team" (for international missions), consisting of Sentinel, Brahma, Combat, Cougar, Psi-Fire and Riptide. The team's second published appearance in Megaton Comics Explosion #1 (June 1987) A sneak preview of the series appeared in The Malibu Sun #1 (February 1992), published by Image through Malibu Comics, which provided administrative, production, distribution, and marketing support for Image's early publications.

Before moving to films, Goulding was an actor, playwright and director on the London stage. Interviewed about his Goulding biography Edmund Goulding's Dark Victory (2009), film historian Matthew Kennedy stated: > He not only directed many types of films, but he took on multiple functions > on each set. Though he didn’t usually take credit, he co-wrote many scripts, > composed incidental music, produced, even consulted on makeup, costumes, and > hair styling. His one blind spot in production seems to be the camera...When > shooting a scene, Eddie was intent on capturing performers at their best and > most truthful, but he left the mechanics of filming to his cameramen...he > seemed adept at just about everything — comedy (Everybody Does It, We’re Not > Married!), ensemble dramas (Grand Hotel), family relations (White Banners, > Claudia), war (The Dawn Patrol, We Are Not Alone), psychiatry (The Flame > Within), show business (Blondie of the Follies), male-female relationships > (The Devil's Holiday, Riptide), and even existentialism (The Razor's Edge) > and the dark arts of spiritism (Nightmare Alley).
