The original section was built in 1881, and expanded with two wings in 1897. It is a large, four- story, Italianate style red brick building. In 1928 Barron was appointed superintendent of nurses, Maternal and Child Welfare Service. She retired in 1939. She was associated with the Australasian Trained Nurses' Association Rest Home from its inception in 1924, and for some years was honorary secretary and a trustee. Barron was a long-term professional colleague of Florence Chatfield (died 1949) and they lived together for part of their retirement.

Wissler was reelected twice and served three years in office; highlights of her tenure included heightened regulations on local saloons and the construction of Dayton's first water works. After leaving office, Wissler moved to her daughter's ranch in Ashland, Montana in 1915. She retired to a rest home in Dayton in 1935, where she died in 1939. Her home in Dayton is listed on the National Register of Historic Places.

Marshall County Infirmary, also known as the Shady Rest Home, is a historic poor farm complex located in Center Township, Marshall County, Indiana. The complex includes three buildings constructed between 1893 and 1920. The Superintendent's Quarters was built in 1895, and is a two-story, Romanesque Revival style brick structure over a full basement. It has a two-story, rear wing that may have been constructed as early as 1893.

In her later life, Davies was concerned for issues facing the elderly. In May 2007 she had musical success as a member of superannuated pop group The Zimmers. Their cover version of "My Generation" reached number 26 in the UK Singles Chart.{[cn}} In 2008, Davies investigated the quality of life in elderly care facilities by posing as the aunt of a BBC reporter, being admitted to a rest home, and spending five days there.

By spring 2010, John Ronald Brown's health had deteriorated greatly and he came down with numerous health problems, including a severe bout of pneumonia. Treatment for his pneumonia eventually proved useless, his body eventually rejecting antibiotic medication. While arrangements to move Brown to a rest home in San Diego were being made, he died on the evening of 16 May 2010 at 10:40 pm local time, two months shy of his 88th birthday.

She was educated at home and at Åhlinska skolan. Remaining unmarried, she lived with his sister Anna and sometimes also with Laura Fitinghoff, with whom she built the Furuliden house in Stocksund, which later became, as she had hoped, a rest home for women.

Barrymore's alcohol dependence meant most studios were unwilling to employ him, but MGM risked casting him in the role of Mercutio in their 1936 film Romeo and Juliet. To minimize disruption to the schedule, the studio put Barrymore in Kelley's Rest Home, a sanatorium for alcoholics, but he continued to drink covertly and was disruptive on set.
The 300 acre site of PGH was originally Piedmont Sanatorium, a rest home for African Americans with tuberculosis. The Sanatorium was closed in 1965 and converted into a geriatric hospital in 1967. In 1985, PGH was accredited by the Joint Commission on Accreditation of Healthcare Organizations. In 1999, word leaked out that PGH was slated to be closed under the 1999-2000 budget of Governor George Allen. The Legislature voted to keep PGH open with funding allocated through 2000.
Alexander Godley died at the age of 90 in a rest home at Oxford on 6 March 1957. After a funeral service at St Mary's Church, Lambourn Woodlands, Berkshire, was held on 14 March 1957, his remains were cremated and interred in his wife's grave. Neale purchased 241 Bridge Street, Nelson in the late 1920s from the Tilyard family. The two-storey wooden home had been built in the early 1900s. The Neales named the home Green GablesGreen Gables History by Barbara Hodgson (The Nelson Mail, Nelson 18 May 2007, pg 13) and lived there until about the time his first wife, Florence, died in 1954. In 1957 the house was sold to Presbyterian Support Services and became a rest home.

McCollum lived after her release in a rest home in Silver Springs, Florida, funded by a trust set up by author William Bradford Huie. He had paid her $40,000 for the movie rights for a feature film which he hoped to have adapted from his book about the case, Ruby McCollum: Woman in the Suwannee Jail (1964, 4th edition). McCollum was finally able to see her children again. Sam Jr. had been convicted in 1975 in federal court on 10 counts of gambling.
In the 1890s the Webendorfer family of Long Island refurbished the farmhouse and built barns, a tenant house, and other structures. From 1919 until its destruction around 1940, St. Andrew-on-Hudson used the Webendorfer house as a rest home. A one-year archaeological survey was performed at the school in 2003. The survey found evidence of human activity in the campus' wooded property dating at least 3,600 years, with elements dating from around 1700 BCE and up until the mid-20th century.

With the outbreak of the Spanish Civil War, in 1936, he joined the International Brigades. In Spain he fought in the Edgar André Bataillon. However, he was badly wounded in fighting outside Madrid in November 1936 after which he moved to Paris which was where the exiled German Communist Party had set up its headquarters. In April 1939 he was taken to the Soviet Union where he was accommodated in a rest home for wounded fighters from the Spanish Civil War, set up at Peredelkino, a dacha complex just outside Moscow.

This cheap William Castle-style gimmick also included a "D-13 Test" handout that was given to theater patrons. It was devised by a supposed "medical expert" to weed out psychologically unfit people from viewing the film. The test consisted of such questions as, "The most effective way of settling a dispute is with one quick stroke of an axe to your adversary's head?" and "Have you ever been hospitalized in a locked mental ward, sanitarium, rest home or other facility for the treatment of mental illness?" "Yes" or "No" were the only possible answers.

Donald Dee Shinnick (May 15, 1935 – January 20, 2004) was an American football linebacker who played as a collegian for UCLA and then thirteen seasons in the National Football League for the Baltimore Colts. He had 37 career interceptions with the Colts, still an NFL record for a linebacker. After retiring as a player, he served as an assistant coach with the Chicago Bears, the St. Louis Cardinals, the Oakland Raiders and the New England Patriots. He died at a rest home in Modesto, California on January 20, 2004 of frontal lobe disorder.

Presented at a University of British Columbia International Critics' Conference in 1976, these polemical plays are rhythmic, graphic, and allegorical. Prologue takes aim at the "ratings-oriented" policies of the CBC, and snipes at audiences who want theatre to be "predictable" or "nice". Instead, her works explore fantasy, brinksmanship, and madness through choral and movement elements that de-stabilize notions of identity, fragment time, and expose power structures within families and communities.
In the 19th century, life for many working horses in London was terrible. On 10 May 1886 Ann Lindo, who was inspired by the novel about a horse Black Beauty was determined to help the lives of horses in London and she set up a rest home for horses, mules, and donkeys at a farm at Sudbury, near Harrow. The first resident at the farm was an overworked London cab horse. Among the supporters of the new Society was Prince Albert and before long the Duke of Portland, Master of the Royal Household, agreed to become the charity President.

The grounds keeper tells Ted the family has left for good and has put Alice in a rest home because her "bad spells" have been getting worse. Ted runs off after finding out the name of the doctor treating her. Mr. Traynor is still investigating the case and he has found a picture of Alice and her husband, but the man in the picture is not the Mr. Barkley who Mr. Traynor and Ted have met. Ted goes to the hospital where Alice is being held and finds her just as the in laws arrive to finish the financials with the doctor.
Sourp Amenapergitch () is an Armenian Apostolic chapel in Strovolos, Nicosia, Cyprus. Sourp Amenapergitch chapel in Strovolos The chapel is located within the premises of the Kalaydjian Rest Home for the Elderly in Strovolos, Nicosia, very near the AYMA club and the Sourp Asdvadzadzin church. It was built in 1995 by prominent businessmen Aram and Bedros Kalaydjian, both of whom served as Armenian Representatives in the House of Representatives,. The chapel, dedicated to the Saviour of All, was built to address the spiritual needs of the Rest Home's residents and was consecrated by the Catholicos of Cilicia, Aram I, on 16 February 1997.
During the Nazi occupation of the Second World War, Fischbach served as a rest home for German artists, calling it Künstlerheim Fischbach. Despite this designation, Fischbach did not avoid the looting of art and historic artefacts that befell other palaces in Luxembourg. However, unlike the other palaces, it was not renovated or partly demolished to suit the Nazis' intentions, leaving it habitable by Grand Duchess Charlotte upon her return from exile. Due to the unsuitability of the other royal palaces, Charlotte continued to live at Fischbach after the war, and took a liking to the place.
The Stooges are inept electricians who manage to electrocute themselves as well as their boss, "Smilin'" Sam McGann (Fred Kelsey). After predictably getting fired from their job by their other boss Mr. Jordan, Curly suggests that the boys take "a nice, long rest." They spot an ad for Mallard's Rest Home, and embark on their R&R; trip. Upon arrival, the boys are introduced to Dr. Mallard (Kenneth MacDonald, in his debut appearance with the Stooges) who prescribes a detailed, regimented schedule of exercise, only to be fed a "nice bowl of milk" for breakfast and lunch.
During their marriage, as Lady Byron she was an active suffragette who used her wealth to support the cause, standing bail for Emmeline Pankhurst. During the First World War she strongly supported the war effort, for example by sending matches to soldiers serving overseas, the boxes labelled 'A Match for Our Matchless Troops from Lady Byron', and her 'Give Him Socks' campaign. Byron died in 1917, the same year that Lucy was appointed Dame Commander, Order of the British Empire (DBE) for her creation of the 'Bluebird's Nest,' a rest home in Hampstead for nurses serving in the First World War.

In 1860 Grassi was assigned to Taiyuan, China, where he was appointed Mission Promoter, Director of the mission orphanage, and choirmaster at the seminary there. In 1876 he was chosen as the Coadjutor Vicar Apostolic for the Apostolic Vicariate of Shansi. After he assumed authority over the Apostolic Vicariate of Northern Shansi on 6 September 1891, he established a novitiate to provide access to Franciscan life for the Chinese of all four vicariates in Shanxi and a rest home for overworked missionaries.
WWI monument sites were usually chosen to be prominent and accessible, such as parks or major intersections, or were outside schools, town halls, and post offices. However, as towns grew and motor traffic volumes increased over time, monuments at intersections could become traffic hazards and a number were relocated - as was the case in Cairns. The Cairns monument stood at the intersection of Shields and Abbott Street until it was moved in 1972 to its current location between the Esplanade and the ocean, opposite the RSL, which has occupied its site (initially as a rest home) since c.1919.

Matt McManamon, Ben Gordon, Charlie Turner and Bryan Johnson formed the band during their teenage years under the name 'Rest Home'. They changed their name to 'Pinhole' and released the 4-track "122 Duke Street" EP (named after the address of Liverpool bar The Pit, where the band played many of its first shows). A while later they released the "Breaking Hearts & Windows " EP on Thrill City Records in 2001 and the "So Over You" / "Morning Rain" single on Too Nice Records in 2002. They also recorded a session for John Peel at the Maida Vale studios. This was broadcast on 7 February 2002.

During World War I, in 1915, she joined her husband in Cairo where he was working as commissioner for the Australian Branch of the British Red Cross. Along with other officer's wives she tended to sick and wounded servicemen, as well as assisting in the establishment of a rest home for nurses. Her experiences in Egypt left a deep impression on her, inspiring her war novels Broken Idols (Melville and Mullin, 1917) and Old Desires (Australasian Authors Agency, 1922) which were largely set in Egypt, and sparking a lifelong engagement on matters of public health. Where each caregiver fell in that range was based on an assessment of their competence. Two proceedings were brought against TerraNova in the Employment Court in 2013, both in relation to allegations that it paid its caregivers lower wages that it would otherwise pay if its work force was not predominantly made up of women. The first proceeding was brought by Kristine Bartlett, a rest home caregiver employed by TerraNova. Her statement of claim pleaded two causes of action: that TerraNova's failure to provide for equal pay breached the Equal Pay Act, and also that it breached schedule 1B of the Employment Relations Act 2000.

The result of this is that Purvis is no longer sure who his employer is – is he really working for the Russians or the British? Purvis's manager Giles Blair visits Purvis at Clifftops, a rest home on the Norfolk coast which is maintained by the agency for former spies who have suffered breakdowns. In the process of finding Purvis, Blair encounters not one but two inmates, both of whom pose as medical staff.
The memorial to Jan Palach and Jan Zajíc in front of the National Museum on Wenceslas Square by the Czech artist Barbora Veselá Palach was initially interred in Olšany Cemetery. As his gravesite was growing into a national shrine, the Czechoslovak secret police (StB) set out to destroy any memory of Palach's deed and exhumed his remains on the night of 25 October 1973. His body was then cremated and sent to his mother in Palach's native town of Všetaty while an anonymous old woman from a rest home was laid in the grave. Palach's mother was not allowed to deposit the urn in the local cemetery until 1974.
As the number of patients at Topcider had been steadily increasing, MacPhail came to the idea of finding a place on the seashore where she could accommodate children with tuberculous. She learned that there is a villa in Dubrovnik that would be ideal for this purpose. MacPhail contacted Zivojin Mišić who was then the head of the generalštab and whom MacPhail knew from the Thessaloniki front. During the first season, having Joy be removed from the Anubis House under the notion that she was the Chosen One, Victor went to great lengths to conceal her being there. At that time, before learning the truth, Nina and Fabian believed Victor to young Sarah's guardian after her parents were killed. But Nina and Fabian later find an old photograph of Victor as a child alongside his father, whom he resembles in everyway. Eventually, Victor finds Sarah in the rest home and makes a final attempt to get her to reveal the Cup's location, only for her to instead forgive him for what his father intended to do.
Nina brings her back to the nursing home where she lives and she gives Nina her necklace as only she can find the Cup of Ankh. Since then, Nina would visit Sarah whenever she and Sibuna needed clues. It would be later revealed that Sarah's parents were apparently murdered by Victor's father, with Gustav and Isabel Zeno becoming her legal guardians, in order to force her to reveal the location of the Cup of Ankh as she was also a Chosen One. Eventually, having lost contact with her, Victor found Sarah in the rest home and arranged for her be taken into Anubis house.
Besides their general practice, they established an infirmary for the cure of inebriety, the Turner Rest Home and Sanitarium. Alice Bellvadore Sams Turner (1896) Turner was an honorary member of the Jasper County Medical Society and a member of the State Society of Iowa Medical Women. She identified with everything that stood for the betterment of humanity, and was a woman of keen intellect and high literary attainments. She was the first woman admitted to membership in the Iowa Health and Protective Association, and was the first woman in Iowa to serve in the capacity of health officer which place she occupied during 1886 and 1887.
In 1934, in the Dutch city of Utrecht, the order of the 'Zusters Augustinessen van Sint-Monica' was founded, doing social work, offering a shelter for women with unwanted pregnancies or women who were the victims of domestic violence or abuse. The sisters also started a number of primary schools. In their heyday the order had six convents, in Amsterdam, Utrecht, Sittard, Maastricht, Hilversum and Arnouville on the outskirts of Paris. Since the Hilversum convent, City of God, was closed in 2014, only Utrecht remains as a rest home for the elderly among the sisters, and Casella, a woodland retreat near Hilversum, where young people are still welcome for a meditative sojourn.
Aleida never married and was reported to paint various genre styles, but little remains other than the examples of her work still on display in her former home. Aleida continued to paint and collected other paintings by the women of Zwolle to decorate her sitting room, which she also decorated with paintings on the doors. Aleida never had children and later in her testament she made sure her house would be turned into a rest home for women. Her sitting room was to remain as it was in her day and became the regent's room of the women's old age home called the Vrouwenhuis founded in a complex around her former home on the Melkmarkt.
The Army detailed Lahm to the fledgling Aeronautical Division, a section in the Office of the Chief Signal Officer (OCSO), on September 17, 1907, while he was still in Europe. His departure from France was delayed after a relapse of the typhoid he contracted in the spring of 1907 and he took convalescent leave at a rest home in St. Germain. It was in the home's garden on August 1, 1907, the very day that the Aeronautical Division came into being, that Lahm's father introduced him to Wilbur and Orville Wright. The elder Lahm had personally investigated the claims of the brothers and had been quietly promoting them among his colleagues in France since 1905.
Annie Lee Cooper was born on June 2, 1910, as Annie Lee Wilkerson in Selma, Alabama, one of ten children of Lucy Jones and Charles Wilkerson Sr. By the seventh grade, Cooper dropped out of school, and moved to Kentucky to live with an older sister. In 1962, Cooper returned to Selma to care for her elderly mother. Appalled by the fact that although she had been a registered voter in Pennsylvania and Ohio she was unable to register to vote in Alabama, Cooper began to participate in the Civil Rights Movement. Her attempt to register to vote in 1963 resulted in her being fired from her job as a nurse at a rest home.

Un secret d'en Haut ("A Secret from on High"), 1875 (Musée d'Orsay) His other works include Victoria Mars (plaster exhibited at the Salon of 1872) and A Secret from On High (Secret d'en Haut) (plaster 1873; marble 1875, now also in the Musée d'Orsay alongside other marble statues.) A Secret from On High depicts a life-size adolescent nude Mercury (Hermes) whispering a secret to a herm - a pillar topped by a bust of himself - knowing that it will never repeat what he tells it. Moulin spent his last few years in a rest home for the mentally ill.
Montrose owned a fire damaged villa on a 3/4 acre section in Tauranga. After being unsuccessful in selling the property at auction, they later on 24 February 1981, it entered into a conditional sale agreement with Moreton and Craig for $215,000, which Montrose was to provide a 60% second mortgage to finance the deal. The conditions of the offer to purchase was that a feasibility study be done regarding converting the property into either a hospital or a rest home, as well as obtaining the necessary council planning consents. However, the very night of the sale, a second fire broke out on the property, destroying what was left of the villa.

Joe Priggle (Joe DeRita) is an inventor staying at a rest home where he tells the story to its proprietor (Vernon Dent) his strong dislike, eggs. It all starts when he fouls up one of his inventions to a client (Emil Sitka) when he finds an egg with an address written on it, the address belongs to a single woman Florabell (Dorothy Granger). He ends up marrying her, but soon finds out that she has an obnoxious brat of a son Rudolph (Norman Ollestead). He causes nothing but trouble for Joe by shooting him in the rear end with a slingshot, a BB gun and gets blown to bits by a miniature cannon.

Alice Lois Lindsay Wynekoop (February 1, 1871 – July 4, 1955) of Chicago, Illinois, was a well-respected physician, professor, feminist, civic leader and educator in child hygiene, as well as the convicted murderer of her 22-year-old daughter-in-law, Rheta Gretchen Gardener Wynekoop. There were two trials, the first ruled a mistrial because of Wynekoop's fragile health. The second resulted in conviction and a 25-year sentence. After spending 13 years and nine months in prison, Wynekoop was released for good behavior and after a brief stay in a hospital,Chicago Tribune (Chicago, Illinois) · Mon, Dec 29, 1947 · Page 1 was removed to Burnside Rest Home, where she died at the age of 84 on July 4, 1955.
When Wally West was looking for someone to tether him to the universe again as seen in the DC Rebirth reboot, he comes to a retirement home called the Good Life Rest Home where a now-elderly Johnny Thunder tries to reconnect to the Justice Society, who have been lost since Joseph McCarthy had him reveal his secret and he had lost the Thunderbolt in the periods since. He tried to tell others who he was, but many think that he is crazy. When Wally comes to him to find the Justice Society, he disappears asking him to find the Justice Society. Believing that he was his old ally, Johnny tearfully calls out to him, apologizing for "throwing (him) away" in the past.
In the early 20th century, the idea for a retirement home in the Arizona Territory originated with three prominent Arizonans: Major A. J. Doran, a judge and territorial representative; rancher Johnny Duke; and businessman Frank M. Murphy, the brother of former Arizona territorial governor Oakes Murphy. They thought that Arizona should provide a rest home for aging settlers who moved to Arizona to help establish the area. Doran sponsored a bill to fund the idea, presented to the 24th Arizona Territorial Legislature in 1907, but it was not passed. Journalist Sharlot Hall handled clerical duties regarding the bill. Submitted again in 1909, both houses of the legislature passed the bill, and Territorial Governor Joseph Henry Kibbey signed the bill into law on March 11, 1909.
After the heavy losses suffered during Operation Bodenplatte (Unternehmen Bodenplatte), Steinhoff and other fighter leaders fell into disfavour following the so- called 'Fighter Pilots Revolt' against what was perceived as the incompetence of Luftwaffe high command and Hermann Göring in particular. Along with several others, Steinhoff was relieved of his command for challenging Göring's leadership. After a brief period spent in internal exile, Steinhoff transferred to the Jet Experten unit Jagdverband 44 being formed by his close friend and confidant Adolf Galland in early 1945. Steinhoff initially acted as a de facto recruiting officer, persuading a number of veteran Luftwaffe aces to join the unit, some coming out of the Fighter Pilots' Rest Home at Bad Wiessee to do so.
Among her starring roles was in The She-Wolf (1931) as a miserly millionaire businesswoman based on the real-life miser Hetty Green. She also starred in the final segment of the anthology film If I Had a Million (1932) as a rest home resident who gets a new lease on life when she is given a $1,000,000 check by a dying business tycoon. She played the Queen of Hearts in Alice in Wonderland (1933), Countess Vronsky in Anna Karenina (1935), Aunt Elizabeth in Bringing Up Baby (1938), Aunt Polly in The Adventures of Tom Sawyer (1938), and a sharp-tongued Granny in A Star Is Born (1937). Robson was top-billed as late as 1940, starring in Granny Get Your Gun at age 82.
Dr. Raymond Feng is the main antagonist of the short story Spy Trap. Nearly nothing is known about him. When first introduced, Feng is supposedly a psychiatrist attached to MI6, assessing Alex after a supposed car crash that took place at the end of the Murmansk incident in Skeleton Key, shortly after Alex returned to the UK. Alex wakes up, suffering with amnesia, in Bellhanger Abbey, ostensibly a rest home used by MI6, and is taken to see Feng in his office. Feng tells Alex to tell him about himself, including his background and how his uncle, Ian Rider, trained him for his life in MI6, as well as the events of Skeleton Key and other aspects of his life.
Herb is the sales manager at radio station WKRP, having been with the station since 1966. The station's poor performance prevents Tarlek from securing deals with major advertising agencies (as it was, even if the station were successful, the agency employees personally loathed Tarlek anyway). Tarlek is able to keep the station financially solvent through the subprime advertising market, courting unconventional advertisers (often this involved airing ads from companies that catered to a very old demographic, such as Shady Hills Rest Home, Gone With the Wind Estates, and Ferryman Funeral Homes). He also was not beneath recruiting less reputable advertisers to buy airtime on WKRP, such as Dave Wickerman, whose "diet pills" turned out to be a legalized form of speed.
Recurring locations within Bikini Bottom include the neighboring houses of SpongeBob, Patrick, and Squidward; two competing restaurants, the Krusty Krab and the Chum Bucket; Mrs. Puff's Boating School, which includes a driving course and a sunken lighthouse; the Treedome, an oxygenated glass enclosure where Sandy lives; Shady Shoals Rest Home; a seagrass meadow called Jellyfish Fields; and Goo Lagoon, a subaqueous brine pool that is a popular beach hangout. When the SpongeBob crew began production of the series' pilot episode, they were tasked with designing stock locations, to be used repeatedly, where most scenes would take place like the Krusty Krab and SpongeBob's pineapple house. The idea was "to keep everything nautical", so the crew used plenty of rope, wooden planks, ships' wheels, netting, anchors, boilerplates, and rivets to create the show's setting.
The film opens in the Edwardian era in Hocombe Woods, where Doris Mann (Angela Douglas) and Albert Potter (Jim Dale) are courting. When Albert searches the woods for a Peeping Tom, Doris is abducted by a monster named Oddbod (Tom Clegg), which leaves a finger behind. Albert, finding the finger, rushes to the police station and reports the matter to Detective Constable Slobotham (Peter Butterworth), who in turn tells his superior, the henpecked Detective Sergeant Sidney Bung (Harry H. Corbett), who has been investigating similar disappearances in the same woods. After searching the woods for further clues, the group stumble across the eerie Bide-A-Wee Rest Home, and are shown to the sitting-room by the butler, Sockett (Bernard Bresslaw – a not dissimilar character to Lurch in The Addams Family).
This later evolved into the world-renowned City of Hope National Medical Center, a recognized leader in fighting cancer and other catastrophic diseases. In 1930, a group of Carmelite nuns known as the Carmelite Sisters of the Most Sacred Heart of Los Angeles established what is now the Santa Teresita Rest Home, known until recently as Santa Teresita Medical Center. After decades as a full-service hospital, Santa Teresita was downgraded to "medical center" in the early 21st century, after financial problems, caused both by administrative missteps as well as the costs of providing medical coverage to the uninsured, forced the hospital to close its emergency room. Santa Teresita now operates as an "outpatient services only" facility. In 1957, a dedicated group of community members, fearing annexation by neighboring cities, led a fight for incorporation.
