Residential Home for Secondary School Students King Aleksandar I, 1933 Erected in 1933 on the location of the First Non- commissioned Infantry Officer School "King Aleksandar I", the building was first called The Residential Home for Secondary School Students King Aleksandar I. Vojin Petrovic designed the impressive three-story building in the Modernist style. Its use changed with the beginning of the Second World War and the occupation, during which it housed the Headquarters of the Gestapo, as well as a section of the German military command for the South- West. After the war the building housed the Communist Party and a police school. Aden is an unincorporated community in Prince William County, Virginia. The town is centered at the intersection of Aden Road and Fleetwood Drive approximately four miles due south of Manassas Airport. Aden does not have the characteristics of a distinct town entity, but one building on the north-west corner bears the name "Aden Grocery". The Yorkshire Imperial Band, formerly the Yorkshire Imperial Copperworks Band, used to rehearse in the village. The band, who have won the Champions of Great Britain title and three British Open titles, is one of the country's foremost brass bands and have produced recordings and performed concerts on the BBC. The composer Edward Elgar was friends with the former owner (Mr. Embleton) of 'The Cedars' – now a residential home – and often stayed in the village.

Margaret took over the care of her grandchildren. In 2000, Jepson broke her hip, after which she moved into a residential home, then a nursing home where she died. He began to restore the creamery to its original condition and had it placed on the National Register of Historic Places in 1999. The building was renovated in 1976, immediately before Seychelles became an independent Commonwealth republic, and again in 2007. The Barnhill Poorhouse, had also opened at Springburn in 1850. Womersley's town planning department. John Africa (July 26, 1931 – May 13, 1985), born Vincent Leaphart, was the founder of MOVE, a Philadelphia-based, predominantly black organization active from the early 1970s and still active. He and his followers were killed at a residential home, which served as the headquarters of MOVE, in a fire after the Philadelphia Police Department bombed the house with C4-explosive, and deliberately let the fire rage until it was out of control following a standoff and firefight between MOVE and police.

Betsy Gould Sturgeon died in 1966. After John Sturgeon's death in 1978, the estate was purchased, in 1981, by The Rose Hill Plantation Development Co., a joint venture of the Welton Corporation and Ontario Properties. Unable to work, Harris became impoverished, but was supported by the masonic charitable foundations, chiefly the Asylum for Worthy, Aged, and Decayed Freemasons, which became part of the later Royal Masonic Benevolent Institution (RMBI). In his latter years Harris wrote some poetry, including pieces in praise of masonic charity, and some of his work was published. Harris and his wife lived in the RMBI residential home at East Croydon, where he died on 28 December 1873. He was buried in Queen's Road Cemetery, Croydon, where his wife was later also interred.

The new children's home which could take in 100 children was inaugurated on 29 August 1906, in the district Volksdorf. Before the building of the first Gunthorpe Bridge in 1875, it was an important crossing point over the River Trent at the Hazelford Ferry (). This was the main route to Lincoln and the coast at Grimsby avoiding expensive bridges at Newark and Nottingham. The ferry continued operating until well after the second world war as a recreational facility as it was adjacent to The Star & Garter public house. The public house has now been converted to a residential home for the elderly and the ferry has ceased operation (although the winding gear has been preserved on the North bank).

Dame Joan Bartlett, S.S.I., O.B.E., D.S.G., (1 August 1911, Lancashire – 9 September 2002) was a prominent British convert to the Roman Catholic Church and the foundress of the Servite Secular Institute. During World War II Bartlett worked in the European Broadcasting division of the BBC, and at night was a Commandant of the Red Cross. She converted to Roman Catholicism in 1941, becoming a Servite tertiary. She opened a residential home for the elderly homeless, having been inspired by hearing Violet Markham speak at Caxton Hall about the plight of many elderly people who had been bombed out during The Blitz.

Bethany Home (sometimes called Bethany House or Bethany Mother and Child Home) was a residential home in Dublin, Ireland, mainly for women of the Protestant faith, who were convicted of petty theft, prostitution, infanticide, as well as women who were pregnant out of wedlock, and the children of these women. The home was run by evangelical Protestants, mainly (up to the 1960s) members of the Church of Ireland. It catered to "fallen women" and operated in Blackhall Place, Dublin (1921–34), and in Orwell Road, Rathgar (1934–72), until its closure. The home sent some children to Northern Ireland, England, and to the United States.

The Auxiliary Territorial Service requisitioned the house during World War II, but it was returned to the Berryman family afterwards and stayed in private ownership until 1988. In that year the house, its grounds and the adjacent Tivoli House (built to the immediate north of Tower House in 1903, and latterly a Brighton Borough Council residential home) were acquired by developers Cussins Green Homes. They demolished Tivoli House and built modern blocks of flats (Robinia Lodge and Tower Gate) and a terrace of houses on the site and in the grounds. Tower House itself was retained, though, and was converted into ten flats and a daycare centre.

Somerset Hospital was founded at a house on Main Street in 1901 as a 12-bed facility with a staff of 10 doctors. This converted residential home remained the location of the hospital until 1925 when the current building was completed. Additional wings were added to the hospital in 1946 and 1963, and the hospital was renamed in 1978 to Somerset Medical Center. As June 1, 2014, Somerset Medical Center completed its merger with Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital in New Brunswick, NJ and was renamed to Robert Wood Johnson University Hospital Somerset as a campus in Somerville, NJ in Somerset County in New Jersey.

The hermitage was constructed in the beginning of the 18th century for a private landowner and built alongside his residential home (but concluded before the manor house). The first pastoral visit to the hermitage occurred in 1707. In the will and testament of vicar João Pacheco Raposo (dated 6 June 1715), the former prelate referred to the hermitage as a producer of two alqueires of land. This vicar had purchased three-quarters of land and some lands with watermills, and left them to the company of St. James, with the obligation to pay eleven alqueires of wheat yearly for the Holy Sacrament of the town.

The hospital closed in 1969 and subsequently became Mary's Residential Home for the elderly. In the First World War, Monifieth was the site of a Red Cross Hospital, which was one of seven hospitals in the Dundee area that treated wounded servicemen. During the Second World War the Monifieth Foundry was used for the production of war supplies including bombs and aircraft parts, which helped to revive it after a period of financial difficulties. By the 1950s the demand for textile machinery had contracted and James F Low & Co (India) Ltd, who now owned the foundry diversified into other areas of production, including the manufacture of building equipment such cement mixers.

Gustin House is a municipal and provincial designated historic building located in the Nutana neighborhood of Saskatoon, Saskatchewan, Canada. Trounce House, also a historic building, is located in the backyard of the Gustin House property. Gustin House is a 1920s style residential home with a special piano studio that connects to the main living room by sliding glass doors, permitting the use of the combined space for performances. In 1928 a back extension was constructed permitting a second rear piano studio to be added, the first remaining in the living room at the front of the house inside the veranda, with a library between the rooms.

The Art Deco heritage listed residential home named Meadow Lea at 22 Sydney Road, East Lindfield, Sydney, was built on four housing lots and completed in about 1941 for James Armstrong, at the time the sales manager of the Meadow Lea Margarine Company. It was sold in 1948 for £17,000 to Azzalin Romano, of the nightclub restaurant Romanos, who had sold his racehorse Bernborough in 1946 to Louis B. Mayer for £93,000. In 1955 the house was sold for £25,000. In 1996 it was purchased by Daniel Kalanderian, the co-founder of the large Sydney store, Victoria's Basement, who added a new wing and put it on the market in September 2010 for $7.5 million.

In 1719, most of the Menstrie estate was sold on, but the Holborne family kept the smaller house, probably as a dower house. A stone heraldic panel, from over the door of the demolished house, was preserved, and later built into the gable-end of the residential home now standing on the site. The motto DECUS MEUM VIRTUS is still legible, but differs from the motto on the Holborne family crest (Decus Summum Virtus, roughly translated as "Virtue, the Chief Ornament"). The last surviving heir of the Holborne family of Menstrie was a Miss Mary Anne Holborne of Bath, daughter of the 5th Baronet, who left an endowment of £8000 in 1882, for the church of Menstrie.

Crime is a cause for serious concern in the area; with racism and anti-social behaviour being particularly high profile issues. A private housing development was built on the south side of the estate in the 1970s following the infilling of a canal and the demolition of an aqueduct. A section of houses in Laburnum Road, Chestnut Avenue, Fern Avenue and Laurel Road were demolished in 2007 and later redeveloped with a small public park and new housing. All of Elm Crescent and several houses in Central Avenue were demolished in the early 1980s due to mining subsidence and the site was redeveloped as Walker Grange, a residential home for elderly people which was opened on 27 February 1992.

The 1985 MOVE bombing refers to the May 13, 1985 incident in Philadelphia, Pennsylvania, United States, when the Philadelphia Police Department bombed a residential home occupied by the black militant anarcho-primitivist group MOVE, and the Philadelphia Fire Department let the subsequent fire burn out of control following a standoff and firefight. In 1985, Philadelphia Mayor Wilson Goode and police commissioner Gregore J. Sambor had classified MOVE as a terrorist organization and police obtained arrest warrants against MOVE members for various crimes. The standoff started after the Philadelphia police evacuated nearby houses and attempted to serve eviction notices and execute arrest warrants. Eleven people in the house, including five children, died in the fire, and 65 homes in the neighborhood were destroyed.

It was allegedly the largest house ever built in New Zealand and certainly one of the most expensive. Following the failure of Williamson's business concerns after the stockmarket crash of 1886, the estate was progressively broken up and sold off. He chaired an all-party Select Committee into the increase in the state's prison population in 2000 that unanimously recommended the abolition of jail sentences shorter than six months, following the lead of Western Australia, and proposed introducing Canadian house-style prisons for female inmates. In 1943 the imperial governor (Nazi Gauleiter) Karl Kaufmann arranged a confiscation of the main building so that the children's hospital of Rothenburgsort, which had been bombed and destroyed could be moved into the building of the children's foster home and the Pestalozzi children had to move out of their house. On January 28, 1937, the Presidium of the Central Council of Osoaviakhim introduced standards for the collective mark "Ready for Air Defense and Chemical Defense" for the primary organizations of the Residential Home Society, and at the beginning of next year, the standards for primary Osoaviakhim organizations of educational institutions were approved. The sign was wall-mounted and hung on the facades of buildings. The first organization in Moscow to pass "Ready for Air Defense and Chemical Defense" was the Institute of Cooperative Trade. On May 8, 1938, the Moscow Osoaviakhim member Mikhail Zyurin set the first world record of Soviet aircraft models that was officially recognized by the International Aviation Federation. There is a green which forms an island around which the roads from Kings Norton to Rednal and Northfield to Alvechurch pass and at the centre of which is a large and old oak tree. The green is planted with bulbs which provide a colourful display in spring. On either side of the green are St. John Fisher church and St. Anne's church as well as a residential home for the elderly and new housing. There is also a very large oak tree situated at the corner of Longbridge Lane and Groveley Lane which has been named "The Cofton Oak" and which was the subject of a campaign to preserve it when it was threatened by plans to have it removed.

In the United Kingdom, Rehab Group operates through a number of organisations: TBG Learning, its UK training and employment division, provides learning, employability services and other supports to over 35,000 people each year in 23 centres across Wales and England. Momentum, incorporating Momentum Care, Momentum Skills and Haven, provides rehabilitation, training and care services to more than 2,900 people in Scotland and England. Services include training and employment skills, job retention and community rehabilitation; social care and supported living services to people in their own homes; and social enterprise businesses such as recycling, packaging, component assembly and print finishing. The Chaseley Trust operates a residential home and independent living accommodation in Eastbourne and provides residential and respite care, rehabilitation, day care and outpatient therapy services.

Examples of such Saadian-era houses include the Dar Cherifa (formerly Dar Ijimi), the Dar al-Mas'udiyyin, and the Dar al-Masluhiyyin (known also as Ksour Agafay). (Some of these houses today have been converted into cafés, restaurants, and hotels.) The building which the Mouassine Museum occupies today is located right next to the southeastern corner of the Mouassine Mosque, along Derb el Hammam street (named after the bathhouse of the mosque). It consists of a residential home which includes a douiria (or dwiriya), a small house or upper floor apartment which was used to receive guests, often integrated to a larger riad or mansion. It was built by an aristocratic Sharifian family in the 1560s, at the time when this neighbourhood was being created by the Saadians.

To accommodate the growth of Ferrara, in 1492 the Duke Ercole I d'Este demolished the medieval walls of the city on the north, and had the court architect, Biagio Rossetti, design an urban expansion known as the Addizione Erculea. Rosetti was commissioned by Sigismondo d'Este, brother of the Duke Ercole I, to build this palace at the prestigious intersection of what was to be the Decumanus Maximus (now encompassing Corsi Porta Po, Biagio Rossetti, and Porta Mare) and Cardo Maximus (Corso Ercole I d'Este) of the "urban addition". It was built between 1493 and 1503. Used as a residential home by the Este family and, starting in 1641, by the Villa marquis, in 1832 the palace was acquired by the municipality of Ferrara to house the National Gallery of Art and the Civic University.

The Yorkshire Board of Education established a Ladies Committee in 1866, and the Ladies Honorary Council of the Yorkshire Board of Education was founded on 1 January 1871. In 1875 this group became independent of the board and became the Yorkshire Ladies Council of Education. It was incorporated in 1904. The council was involved in, or supported, the establishment of the Yorkshire School of Cookery (1874), Bradford Girls' Grammar School (1875), Leeds Girls' High School (1876), Yorkshire College of Science (precursor of the University of Leeds, 1878), Wakefield Girls' High School (1878), the West Riding Nursing Association (1907), and several other social work projects including Forest Hill residential home for the elderly, opened in 1960 and now a sheltered housing scheme operated by a separate charity Yorkshire Ladies Council (Hostels) Ltd.

Hatton was the home of the Masters of Oliphant rather than their fathers, who resided primarily at Aberdalgie and Dupplin Castles. Hatton Castle was de-roofed in about 1720, after the 1715 Jacobite rising, when it was replaced by the Italian-style Belmont Castle in Meigle, which is now a Church of Scotland residential home. Hatton Castle gradually became encrusted by ivy and a home to pigeons and jackdaws, until it was sold by the Kinpurnie Estate for reconstruction. This has been done faithfully, initially by Roderick Oliphant of Oliphant, yr and his elder brother Richard Oliphant of that Ilk (34th chief)Clan OliphantBurkes Peerage, 107th edition, page 3132, so its charm remains much as it was in 1575, including glass hand-made in Edinburgh, in the leaded windows.

Beginning in 1939 she joined Santiniketan, working closely with Tagore and becoming acquainted with C.F. Andrews, later in 1944-46 holding the C.F. Andrews Memorial Chair at Santiniketan while working on Andrews' biography. In 1945, Gandhi invited Sykes to join his team working on Nai Talim (New Education), and she later became Principal of Gandhi's Basic Education Programme at Sevagram. In the 1960s Sykes served in efforts to bring peace in Nagaland, as well as living and conducting nonviolence training in Kotagiri in the Nilgiris Hills, and becoming increasingly active among Quakers, at Rasulia (Madhya Pradesh) as well as outside India. After an illness, at age 85 years, Sykes moved in 1991 from India to Swarthmore, a Quaker residential home in Buckinghamshire, England, where she remained until her death on 17 August 1995.

Anuet payam has about four major bomas, which include; Anuet Centre/Thonathiei boma (also known as Majak), Malou boma, Jam boma, Bangachorot boma (also known as Makuach), and other uninhabited bomas like Pinymayom, Alang, Akäy, Pan Pitia, and swampy boma of Laguli. Anuet payam is the residential home of Abii people, and sharing borders with many communities of South Sudan like Mundari, Murle, Bari, and Aliab respectively. Anuet payam is a newly created payam as a result of the creation of "28-32 states" leading to creation of more counties in each state, its carry on to generation of more payams and ends up with more bomas. These are politically-oriented changes made by the government of South Sudan, as well as, complying with the demands of the local people.

On the right bank of the Tshopo River, the Kisangani Zoo attracts many visitors, as well as the Kisangani Hydroelectric Dam that supplies electricity to the city of Kisangani. At spectacular waterfall of Wagenia Falls, fishing with the old age tradition tools installed on the rapids can be witnessed. Fishing is practiced through a scaffold installed among rocks, with vines attached and serving through the tensioning creels of woven conical vines immersed in the current of the river.

Alexander Dallas she set up a school in a loft in Townsend St., and children of this home received schooling and food from his Irish Church Mission. A member of the Church of Ireland, her humanitarian mission was influenced by her religious beliefs. She set up a residential home for boys and one for girls, and then 1859 the Birds Nest in Dun Laoghaire for infants, her homes and organisation known as The Smyly Mission Homes and Ragged Schools of Dublin cared for over 1000 children at this time. Smyly was involved in the Irish Church Missionaries Ragged School in the Coombe opened initially in 1853 in Weaver's Hall, later moved to Newmarket St. it was opened by Rev.

Local grid substations will need to be upgraded for drivers who cannot park on their own property. By 2020 in the UK, every residential home will have been offered a smart meter, and about 1.7 million PEVs should be on the road. The UK's electric vehicle market value is projected to grow from $0.1 to $1.3 billion between 2015 and 2020 (ZigBee 2010). In 2018, EDF Energy announced a partnership with a leading green technology company, Nuvve, to install up to 1,500 Vehicle to Grid (V2G) chargers in the UK. The chargers will be offered to EDF Energy’s business customers and will be used at its own sites to provide up to 15 MW of additional energy storage capacity. That’s the equivalent amount of energy required to power 4,000 homes.

The development of electric streetcars made the development of suburbs far outside Cleveland's city limits practical for the first time in the 1890s. In 1890, railroad baron Patrick Calhoun purchased atop nearby Cedar Hill, and in 1893 established the planned community of Euclid Heights. It was common at the time for deed restrictions governing type of construction, land use, occupancy, and more to be used when zoning laws and regulations did not exist, and Calhoun's Euclid Heights prohibited retail within the development to prevent Euclid Heights from becoming another Euclid Avenue. (Depreciation in residential home values was quite common at the time, and it was not unrealistic for a family to fear loss of their home due to retail development.) To further enhance the value of the development, Calhoun organized the Euclid Golf Club.

Mary Robinson opened the newly built 20 bedroom home called Brú na bhFiann,Department of the Taoiseach – Speech by the Taoiseach, Mr. Bertie Ahern, T.D., on the occasion of his visit to the Brú na bhFiann Residential Home of the Organisation of National Ex Servicemen at North King Street on Monday, 10 July 2006 at 3.15pm liberally translated from Gaelic as 'Home of the Brave'. Since 1994 over five hundred ex-servicemen have been accommodated in the charity's homes throughout Ireland and many have moved on to independent living. From January 2002 to March 2005 Brú na bhFiann was temporarily located in Leeson Bridge House, Leeson Street Upper, Dublin. During this time ONET housed twenty four ex-servicemen and commenced provision of B&B; style accommodation for serving and retired members of the Defence Forces and their families.

Due to the rediscovery of the northern banks of the river Elbe, the northern edge of the port slowly integrated itself into the famous and frequented line of the port between Neumühlen and HafenCity since the beginning of the 80s. In the meantime, several of the foundation buildings of the fishing port had been included into the planning. After being renovated und newly used by the FMH (the company “Fish Market Hamburg-Altona“) as the first old storehouse in the area from 1980 to 1982, the storehouse D was registered in the list of historical monuments of the city in July 1992. In 1993/4, the residential home Augustinum was finished and ready to move into in the former Union refrigerated storage building. The FMH turned the former cold store III into the “Elbkaihaus“ (used as office building) between 1998 and 1999.

On 2 November 1905, the local Boys' Brigade was formed at the barracks for the sons of Royal Navy and Royal Marines personnel, except commissioned officers. On 18 September 1912, Chatham sailors opened 'Pembroke House Girls Orphanage' on Oxford Road, Gillingham the orphanage was financed and managed by the Chatham Sailors. It was converted into a residential home in 1952 for The Royal Naval Benevolent Trust. The years leading up to the First World War, saw the drill hall used as an Exhibition centre, Naval store (of rum, clothes and general supplies), a building materials warehouse and as an overflow barracks with the court martial room situated on an upper floor near the rear of the building. Also during this time Chatham had become one of three Royal Navy's manning ports with the area holding over a third of the Navy and 205 ships manned by Chatham.

In seeing that many young children are unable to receive adequate care and proper attention due to family crisis and problems, St. Christopher's Home set up small group homes to compensate for what these children lack. Small group homes basically serve three purposes including: Protecting and promoting the health and welfare of children, taking care of their development (physically and mentally) and last but not least, enhancing their potential development, sense of responsibility, self-respect and self-care abilities. This service targets at children aged 4 –18, hoping to provide them with temporary 24-hour family- like residential care until they are able to return home or settle down in another long term residential home placement. Small group homes are mainly located in public housing estates including Sau Mau Ping Estate in Kwun Tong, On Yam Estate in Kwai Chung, Cheung Hang Estate in Tsing Yi, Tin Shui Estate and Tin Yiu Estate in Tin Shui Wai and Lok Man Road in Chai Wan.

Loren Richard Mosher (September 3, 1933, Monterey, California – July 10, 2004, Berlin) was an American psychiatrist, clinical professor of psychiatry, expert on schizophrenia and the chief of the Center for Studies of Schizophrenia in the National Institute of Mental Health (1968–1980). Mosher spent his professional career advocating for humane and effective treatment for people diagnosed as having schizophrenia and was instrumental in developing an innovative, residential, home-like, non-hospital, non-drug treatment model for newly identified acutely psychotic persons. In the 1970s, Mosher, then Chief of the newly formed Center for Schizophrenia Research, wrote a grant to obtain funding for a novel idea for treating people diagnosed with schizophrenia; an intensive psychosocial milieu-based residential treatment known as the Soteria Project. The results of the study were remarkable and showed that people with schizophrenia did in fact recover from the illness without the use of neuroleptics in a supportive home-like environment.

When it was founded, The Shabtai Levy Day Care Center served the families of soldiers in the Volunteer Jewish Brigade during World War II. Over the intervening years, services have expanded to include a recuperation center for sick babies which later became a residential home for babies and toddlers, an Emergency Center specializing in the emergency care of babies and very young children, and a Satellite Foster Families Program. There was also the addition of a mother-baby residential facility to rehabilitate mother-child pairs, to enhance mothering skills and bonding. The "Shalom Hayeled" Ambulatory Unit provides out-patient treatment for at-risk and abused children from the entire Northern District of Israel.

Medical social worker, Daisy Vaithilingam, was involved in the creation of the group. Along with Vaithliningam in the creation of MINDS were Warren Fox, Ena Aeria, Freda Paul. After running the pilot project with the go-ahead of the Singapore Children's Society, they applied for funding from the Rotary Club and received a grant of $10,000. Beginning with only two teachers and 26 students in a single classroom in Towner Road,Vivi Zainol, "Serving the intellectually disabled", The Straits Times, 27 August 2005.April Chong, "Special school in Sengkang opens", The Straits Times, 18 July 2009. the new association rapidly expanded over the 1960s, building special schools at Margaret Drive and Jurong, a sheltered workshop at Geylang, a residential home at Tampines as well as their main administration centre, Lee Kong Chian Centre. SARC started a subcommittee for services for those with less severe intellectual disabilities in 1971 and a youth volunteering group the year after;"MINDS Youth Group – Celebrating 35 Years of Volunteerism ", Group Training Course on Intellectual Disabilities. the subcommittee was split into an independent organisation, the Association for the Educationally Subnormal (AESN), in 1976.

As well drained open heath land, the area was not developed as a residential area until the early 1900s, containing only a few scattered agricultural buildings and latterly one or two grand houses in the Lilley Lane area. In 1907 Kelly's Directory Of BirminghamAlan Godfrey Maps. "Old Ordnance Survey Maps Northfield South 1903" records that several middle class residents were living in the larger houses of West Heath including two professors of chemistry at the new University of Birmingham – Percy Faraday Frankland F.R.S. (son of Edward Frankland, an eminent scientist who discovered chemical valency and also godson of the famous physicist, Michael Faraday) lived at The Dell and Adrian John Brown F.R.S. (whose chair at the university was actually that of Malting and Brewing and who became a pioneer in enzyme kinetics) who lived with his family in West Heath House, which was the largest residence in the village but was demolished to make way for an Elderly Person's Home, situated at the junction of Alvechurch Road and Cofton Road. The replacement 1950's building was closed and demolished in 2016 and a newly built, 3 storey, 80 bedroom Residential Home, called "Austin Rose", was opened in Autumn 2017.
