Player characters in Macho Women with Guns are buxom women with a penchant for revealing clothing who engage in combat with otherworldly menaces like the Puppies of Tindalos, satirical representations of male chauvinism such as Drunken Frat Boys, and occasionally each other. Non-women opponents in the game are usually referred to as critters.

For most of the 20th century, women's football was a niche sport in Germany and was frowned upon. When the DFB appointed Gero Bisanz to coach the newly founded women's national team, he was initially very reluctant about his assignment and feared it would harm his reputation. Winning the 1989 European Championship was the team's first international success, but it had little lasting effect on their popularity. Having collaborated with other African female singers, in the making of an inspirational song "Strong Girl".

Such misogyny and male chauvinism is sometimes expressed as actual sexual harassment against women. Savitch got along well with some members of the KYW staff, including her regular location shooting crew and her co-anchor Mort Crim. The film was controversial on its 1971 release, mostly because of the prolonged rape scene that is the film's centerpiece. The book interrogates male-female relations from the past and the present through the relationship between the narrator and his wife, who as the wife in the folk tale, insatiably craves more. In spite of the fact that the book could be read as a defense of women and a denouncement of male chauvinism, the book was harshly critiqued and rejected by feminists, partly due to its portrayal of violence, sexualization and objectification, and what the feminists perceived as male narcissism and gender essentialism.

His single-minded blind devotion to his cause, despite neglect by his faction and harassment by its enemies, started the use of the term. Chauvinism has extended from its original use to include fanatical devotion and undue partiality to any group or cause to which one belongs, especially when such partisanship includes prejudice against or hostility toward outsiders or rival groups and persists even in the face of overwhelming opposition. However, Soriano's main objective was to draw the attention of her fellow men. In addition, the director of the publication El Monitor Sanitario, Luis Ortega Morejón, wrote a biography about her, in which he asserted that Elisa was the one who had provided hin with the data and that she was the first woman to appear in his journal thanks to: “her capacity, preparation, intelligence and energy to always succeed in difficult missions”. Since child care costs are too high, Bob then decides to prove to her and makes a bet, that it's an easy job with plenty of time for yourself when you stick to a schedule, takes on the challenge to care for the house and his children, while Pat has her summer job. Bob takes on his completely "Mister Mom" role or household diva, Bob sets out for the task at hand with vigor, and enthusiasm, as well as a substantial dose of male chauvinism, as he sees it all as the perfect opportunity to prove to his wife just how the household should be run. He keeps ahead of everything for a few days but eventually finds himself tiring easily and finding the hours of the day vanishing before he achieves half of his household and family care duties.

In 1858, anonymously, Gilbert published Dives and Lazarus, or the adventures of an obscure medical man in a low neighbourhood. The book was a fictional account focusing on what Gilbert saw as the increasing disparity in the lives of the rich and the poor. A similar theme pervades another early Gilbert novel, The Weaver's Family (1860). This theme continued to concern Gilbert throughout his career including in Contrasts; dedicated to the ratepayers of London (1873) and in one of his fiercest attacks on social abuses, The City; An Inquiry into the Corporation, its livery companies, and the administration of their charities and endowments (1877),Online googlebooks version of The City describing how 50,000 working-class people were evicted from their dwellings to make room for the Metropolitan Railway.Plumb, p. 300 In an age of male chauvinism, Gilbert also wrote several articles about discrimination against women.

Sandra Des Vignes-Millington – more commonly known as Singing Sandra – stands as Calypso's biggest female icon thanks to her achievements in and contributions to an art form that was once dominated by men and machismo. Although it is challenging to state just one song as her most famous due to the nature of the progression of her music and popularity, it is certainly easier to say that she has indeed come a long way since her debut at Sparrow's Young Brigade tent in 1984. While at Young Brigade, she earned both the local National Calypso Queen and St Maarten Queen of the World titles in 1987 with “Sexy Employees”, more popularly known as “Die with My Dignity”. The song mirrored Sandra's image and spiritually strong moral standing, and was an immediate hit with women in society who identified with the images of male chauvinism in the workplace. Sandra moved onto greater accomplishments and won the National Calypso Monarch in 1999 by singing her two megahits “Song for Healing” and her trademark rendition “Voices from the Ghetto”.
