Several photographs taken by the Vietnamese and now on display at Tuol Sleng show the grisly scenes they discovered in former classrooms-turned-torture chambers: bodies manacled hand and foot to metal beds; heads battered into pulps with a variety of implements including iron bars, axes, shovels and garden hoes; floors stained by pools of blood and littered with torture instruments such as whips, bamboo sticks and lengths of electric wire.

But perhaps even more soul-sucking are also the archetypes that blend together: hundreds of self-described "art hoes" who study graphic design at Parsons or Pratt; an impossibly high number of men who claim to work at VICE, all of whom ignore my messages; finance bros, hyper-curated advertising creatives, and bartenders who are also in bands; the women who take the "sad gurl" aesthetic too far and have bios like "dead inside but still horny" with blurry and unflattering photos of them to show they are intellectual or something.

Launched in 2013 Nightwave's Heka Trax has so far released diverse offerings, such as Hit Da Blokk by Big Dope P and the recent "Want Some" by Glaswegian R&B duo Bossy Love, as well her own diverse output, typified by high BMP bangers such as 2013's "Rave Hard" and 2014's "Fire Hoes" from the Hit It EP featuring ghetto-house legend DJ Deeon, while underground tastemaker Madam X launched Kaizen earlier this year with the Griddled EP by Manchester's Biome, and the second release by Silas & Snare is coming soon.
