Puzzle pages frequently appeared in the comic now, with Jamie Smart and Lew Stringer originally drawing the puzzles, and later on other artists such as Steve Beckett and Barrie Appleby.

Its data, published by the Australian Recording Industry Association, is based collectively on the weekly physical and digital sales of singles. In 2016, fifteen singles claimed the top spot, including Justin Bieber's "Love Yourself", which started its peak position in 2015, and seventeen acts achieved their first number-one single in Australia: Jonas Blue, Dakota, Zayn, Flume, Kai, Lukas Graham, Gnash, Olivia O'Brien, Drake, Wizkid, Kyla, The Chainsmokers, Halsey, James Arthur, Clean Bandit, Sean Paul and Anne-Marie.

The reliance on Adobe for decoding Flash makes its use on the World Wide Web a concern—the completeness of its public specifications are debated, and no complete implementation of Flash is publicly available in source code form with a license that permits reuse. Generally, public specifications are what makes a format re- implementable (see future proofing data storage), and reusable codebases can be ported to new platforms without the endorsement of the format creator. Adobe's restrictions on the use of the SWF/FLV specifications were lifted in February 2009 (see Adobe's Open Screen Project). However, despite efforts of projects like Gnash, Swfdec, and Lightspark, a complete free Flash player is yet to be seen, as of September 2011.

As the fifth employee of Sun Microsystems and founder of Cygnus Support, he became wealthy enough to retire early and pursue other interests. He is a frequent contributor to free software, and worked on several GNU projects, including maintaining the GNU Debugger in the early 1990s, initiating GNU Radio in 1998, starting Gnash media player in December 2005 to create a free software player for Flash movies, and writing the pdtar program which became GNU tar. Outside of the GNU project he founded the FreeS/WAN project, an implementation of IPsec, to promote the encryption of Internet traffic. He sponsored the EFF's Deep Crack DES cracker, sponsored the Micropolis city building game based on SimCity, and is a proponent of opportunistic encryption.

Workers at the station told that they had heard strange sounds in the tunnels: groans, gnash of iron or the sound of jackhammers. However, people are skeptical and believe that extraneous sounds in tunnels are a consequence of the penetration and activity of “diggers”. The station was opened on November 20, 1985 as part of the first launch section of the Nizhny Novgorod Metro “Moskovskaya - Proletarskaya”. From 1985 to 1993, she was the terminal station for the only Avtozavodskaya line. After the opening of the first section of the Sormovskaya line “Moskovskaya - Kanavinskaya”, it became final for her. A fork movement was organized at the station - trains of the Avtozavodskaya line “turned around” at the station and continued on their way along the Sormovskaya line.

On April 3, 2008, with the Predators clinging to a 3–2 lead with 4:30 in their final home game of the regular season, a sellout crowd at what was then known as the Sommet Center, gave the team a standing ovation through the entirety of the final TV timeout. The Predators went on to win the game against the St. Louis Blues and advanced to the playoffs that year, where the "standing O" during the final TV timeout has since become a fan tradition. The mascot of the Predators is Gnash, a blue saber-toothed cat. Introduced in 1998, Gnash's trademark includes stunts, such as very fast rappels, zip lines, and a pendulum swing that takes him under the scoreboard and just inches off the ice.

The first panel of the Dennis & Gnasher strip also appeared on the cover, like from 1972 to 2008, but the "This Week in Beanotown" feature still appeared across the bottom. In late 2012, Craig Graham took over as Beano editor and revamped the comic. As a result, two mini-strip pages titled "Funsize Funnies" were introduced and featured Simply Smiffy, Rasher, Little Plum, Les Pretend, Pup Parade, Baby Face Finlayson as well as two new strips Gnash Gnews and Winston and also introduced artists such as Wilbur Dawbarn (who took over Billy Whizz from Nick Brennan), Lew Stringer (not seen in the Beano since Super School), Alexander Matthews, Paul Palmer and Nigel Auchterlounie. Auchterlounie soon took over writing Dennis the Menace and Gnasher also which had returned to its pre-2009 style with new characters from the 2009 TV series.

In 1899 Andersen met Henry James the American expatriate writer. Although James was almost 30 years his senior the two developed a close relationship that was to last until James' death in 1916.
