The tower of the Royal Kennebeccasis Yacht Club (RKYC) has been a beacon to boaters since its construction at the turn of the 20th century. The Club was founded in 1898. On April 1, 2008, it was declared a National Cultural Heritage by Resolución Directoral Nacional No.466-INC. The event takes place in a plain named Winch'iri on the border of the districts Quehue of the Canas Province and Livitaca of the Chumbivilcas Province. During the festival people of various communities of the two provinces meet to fight against each other.

"Honeymoon" received critical acclaim. NME called the track "cinematic" and "emotionally thrilling" before describing it as "perhaps her most heart-stopping ballad yet". The Verge described the song as "six minutes of meandering bliss" and praised the "sweeping strings and stuttering snares" that "float through the background of the song", but also identified that, "like much of Lana Del Rey's work, the core of its appeal is in her voice." TIME called the song "characteristically broody" and "cinematic", and suggested it "leans closer to the sounds of her breakthrough LP Born to Die than the material she cooked up with the Black Keys' Dan Auderbach".

Whether Newman is reflecting on the difficulties of the heart on 'Easy' or crooning for forgiveness on 'Love Me Again', Tribute thrives on a rollercoaster narrative of broken relationships, gutsy emotions and broody intent. What's more, the collection doesn't suffer from burn-out towards the finish. 'Running' is a pulsing mid-tempo with a strong whiff of Emeli Sandé to it, while 'Goodnight Goodbye' soars with a lofty chorus that is primed for an impressive live outing. The list of influences for John Newman's début may be long, but rather than emulating his idols, he is in fact following in their footsteps – and Tribute gets him off to a very strong start.

Tom Milne, reviewing the film in The Times, commented that it "somehow fritters itself away into long, broody pauses and soulful searchings". (2003) The Great Indie Discography, Canongate, , p. 726 After two limited-edition singles on the Earworm label and a November 1997 session for John Peel's BBC Radio 1 show,"Electric Sound of Joy", Peel Session details, Keeping It Peel, BBC Kurcewicz left the band in 1998, and they shifted from Televisionesque rock to a more electronic instrumental sound that has been compared to Cluster and Stereolab. The band were described by the NME: "Like Air, they manage to be chic and cheerful, allowing a potentially icy groove to melt into a fantastic fanfare of sizzling synths","London Highbury Grange", NME, 9 September 1998 and by The Independent as "dark, broody instrumentals with a distinctive hook; spiritually morose, yet full of zeal and strangely uplifting".
