When Michael Scott (Steve Carell) hears Oscar Martinez (Oscar Nunez) complaining about Angela Martin's (Angela Kinsey) baby poster to Toby Flenderson (Paul Lieberstein), he intervenes and resolves the conflict by forcing Oscar to wear a t-shirt of the poster. Inspired, Michael wrests the file outlining other unresolved office complaints from Toby, determined to resolve them all. Michael publicly reads all the outstanding complaints, even though they were supposed to be anonymous, which only serves to further increase office tensions. Pam Beesly (Jenna Fischer) is angered by a redacted complaint that she plans her wedding during office hours, a complaint she concludes was filed by Angela.

One morning, while the others are sleeping, Smith, who has been drinking seawater and is hallucinating, catches Willi drinking water from a hidden flask. Gus tries to tell Stanley but Stanley doesn't believe him because Gus also tells him he just had an ice-cold one with Rosie.

Unlike the stories that may have influenced Pope Gregory's structure of the biography, Benedict's victories are practical, preventing Satan from stopping work on the abbey at Monte Cassino. Benedict's prayers are portrayed as the driving force behind the building of the abbey and the triumphs over Satan, through prayer: "Benedict the monk wrests from the devil a well-determined base which he never leaves." After the completion of the abbey, Satan's appearances in the story diminish back to the same level as Subiaco, "Only after the saint's death and by God's permission would other enemies, the Lombards, succeed in sacking it." Once established at Monte Cassino, Benedict never left.

The Battle of Hattin, an imaginary scene where Saladin wrests the relic of the True Cross from King Guy of Jerusalem. Saladin's secretary, the historian Imad ad-Din al-Isfahani, described him as: "... the audacious, the hero of well thought out projects, the lion who heads straight for the target, the most reliable and firmest chief." In Saladin's campaigns against the Crusader states Gökböri was given important commands. At the Battle of Cresson (1187) he led an army of 700–7,000 which defeated a Christian army containing a large contingent from the military orders.

As part of a plan to orchestrate an event known as the "War of Four Cities", Richards offers to open a massive portal between the Negative Zone and Earth, allowing the Annihilation Wave to pass through. Annihilus agrees, and sends forces to attack the Baxter Building and secure its Negative Zone gateway.Fantastic Four #601 (2012) Johnny Storm learns of the plan and enlists the Inhumans Light Brigade in an uprising, attacking Annihilus' forces as they prepare to cross over. With the aid of Light Brigade member Kal Blackbane, Johnny wrests the Cosmic Control Rod away from Annihilus, and takes control of the Annihilation Wave armada, using it to battle the Kree fleet as well as the Mad Celestials.

There are places all over Scandinavia, associated with this legend such as Asige in the former Danish (presently Swedish) province of Halland, which borders Götaland, where there are two large menhirs called Hagbard's gallows. Hagbard and his brother Haki are mentioned as great sea-kings in the Ynglinga saga where Haki wrests the Swedish throne from king Hugleik (this event also appears in Gesta Danorum where Haco kills the Irish king Huglethus) only to be killed later in battle with Hugleik's cousin Jorund. A third reference to Hagbard and his brother Haki appears in the Völsunga saga, chapter 25\. It is there said that Hagbard and Haki not yet avenged themselves for Sigar's abduction of one sister and the slaying of another.

Confederate veteran Matt Weaver (George Segal) returns home to New Mexico after the Civil War and discovers that his farm was sold by an unscrupulous banker named Brewster (Pat Hingle), while his fiancee- to-be, Ruth, (Janice Rule) married another man while he was at war. Weaver's absence allowed Brewster to sway the town's occupants towards his own bigoted prejudices, racism and corrupt methods, all so that he can gain financial and peremptory control of the town. Weaver, already knowing full well what Brewster is like, wrests back control of his farm via an ill-enacted use of force. This results in the death of the husband of the couple residing on the farm, which was sold to them by Brewster, who had himself obtained through illicit means.

The Joker emerges as his old, twisted self again but, reveling in the idea of causing ultimate chaos, he activates Krang's Mother Box, opening a portal through which Krang's army begins to stream.Batman/Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles III #4 In the midst of this chaotic battle, Batman wrests the Mother Box from the Joker, but a sudden vision of the death of Jason Todd makes him realize that this will not be enough to win the fight. While Batman removes himself from the scene of the battle, which is joined by the reformed Foot Clan, the IDW-Turtles go through the portal and end up in the Technodrome, where they free their Mirage-counterparts and the original Batman.

(Though he still spars with Buffy, provided he has no real intent on harming her) His inability to bite is comically compared to impotence, much to Spike's constant humiliation; in "Doomed", he attempts to commit suicide by staking himself at Xander's house, but is stopped by Willow and Xander.

He also wrote on other literary figures such as George Bernard Shaw (The Art of Bernard Shaw), Rabindranath Tagore (The Great Sentinel: A Study of Rabindranath Tagore ), Saratchandra Chatterjee (Saratchandra: Man and Artist) and Bankimchandra Chatterjee (Bankimchandra Chatterjee). His other major works included two original books, Towards a Theory of Imagination, a philosophical treatise, India Wrests Freedom, a historical interpretation of Indian freedom movement, and two translations, Dhvanyaloka, a commentary on aesthetics by Anandavardhana translated into Bengali by Sengupta, and Mahatma Gandhi, As I Saw Him, a critical account of the life of Mohandas KaramChand Gandhi written by Prafulla Chandra Ghosh and translated by Sengupta.
