Or when she trusted Tyrion's insistence that his sister was true to her word and would assist in the fight, which saw Daenerys lose her confidante and friend Ser Jorah Mormont and countless Dothraki and Unsullied, all of whom defended the people of the North on her behalf, out of loyalty to their queen.

This fridging also inadvertently reveals just how disposable the characters of color on Game of Thrones are: Missandei probably had a whole community of Unsullied who will mourn her loss, but so far, we haven't gotten to know any of them except for Grey Worm — who is, on the show, just as isolated as she is.

The very opening scene even suggests that we ignore the overly ambitious set pieces of season seven for the time being, and instead remember the humble roots of the pilot: a little boy climbing a tree to spot the Unsullied, Dothraki, and mother of dragons marching into Winterfell—a throwback to wall climbing Bran, who spied on the royal caravan in season one.

Following the Lannisters' victory over House Tyrell at Highgarden — a battle they'd cleverly abandoned their own stronghold of Casterly Rock to conduct, leaving Dany's conquering Unsullied forces confused and stranded inside — the army led by Jaime Lannister, his comrade Bronn, and their new allies Randyll and Dickon Tarly caravanned its way up the Goldroad to King's Landing, delivering the cash and crops they'd looted during the campaign.

The battle episode, "The Long Night," was shot in such a dark, confusing way that it's hard to take a final count of the survivors, but we know at least these people survived: Jaime, Brienne, Daenerys and both her living dragons, Arya, Gendry, the Hound, Jon Snow and his direwolf Ghost, Podrick, Samwell Tarly, Tyrion, Tormund, Sansa, Grey Worm and what's left of the Unsullied, Missandei, Varys, and presumably any Dothraki who managed to survive the first wave of wights.

While Fedor has strolled through his life as a sort of patron saint of Russian MMA—undefeated for most of his career, universally respected, unsullied by controversy—little brother Alexander has had a harder go of things, lost in a great shadow, never quite scaling the heights his brother did in the ring while continually plagued by controversy outside of it, including numerous reports of improper behavior, suspect acquaintanceships, questionable prison tattoos, and a previous arrest after drunkenly assaulting a 63-year-old man in a Moscow café in 2013.
