In the 1940s, 50s and 60s two other members of the same Madden family, brothers John Madden of Killimor and George Madden of London bestowed many gifts on Garbally, including the funds to build the present science halls, study hall, extra classrooms and dining hall.

It lies on a flat alluvial plain north of Tai Mo Shan mountain and east of Yuen Long town. It was formerly known as Sham Tin (岑田).
Colombet sent a letter to King Chulalongkorn and the queen and solicited contributions and donations from noblemen, as well as Thai and foreign merchants in Bangkok. The school became well-endowed. On 15 August 1887, Crown Prince Maha Vajirunhis represented King Chulalongkorn in laying the cornerstone for the construction of the first study hall, later named the "old building" (Thai, "tuek gao"). In 1900, Father Colombet returned to France.

It also contained a study hall where the Tsang children were tutored before schools existed. Shan Ha Wai gained its current name Tsang Tai Uk from locals when it housed displaced families after the Second World War. During the 1970s development of the Sha Tin New Town, the surrounding area was developed significantly.
Moskovits' gemara lectures are heavily influenced by Rabbi Shmuel Rozovsky, while his ethical lectures are influenced by Rabbi Yechezkel Levenstein. Moskovits emphasizes a strong textual reading of relevant sources. Every student in the yeshiva delivers, at a minimum, two chaburos ("informal lectures") per month. The Yeshiva places a strong focus on student surveillance and there are over 20 surveillance cameras placed throughout the study hall and student dormitories.
The first Clayton High School classes met in the upper floors of the Forsyth School beginning in 1908. In 1911, the school graduated its first class. Designed by William B. Ittner, the first Clayton High School building opened in September 1917 at 7500 Maryland Avenue. The building, which cost slightly less than $111,000 to construct and $14,000 to partially equip, included six main classrooms and a large study hall-library.
St. Dominic's was founded by the Dominican Order in 1870 at the invitation of the Most Reverend Dr. Dorrian, Bishop of Down and Connor on the Falls Road in Belfast. It was originally named St. Mary's Dominican Convent. When it opened on April 25, 1870, there were four pupils enrolled. The Boarding School opened on April 29 with one pupil and the Study Hall Block was built in 1897.

In contradiction the students adore Armand as he is a good narrator and his stories about the ancient Greek times are appreciated.
The Save Our Scotland effort and the resulting external engagement sought to support the Scotland community. For example, a study hall began in the community's church basement. By 1966, this was open three nights a week and half the community's school children attended each session. When this started, this was almost solely assistance from outside the community but the outside volunteers supported Scotland parents as they took over supervising the tutoring.

Fasman Yeshiva High School is located on a campus shared with Hebrew Theological College and Hillel Torah Jewish Day School. The science laboratory, bookstore and game room are also in this building. The Beis Midrash building (built 1957) includes a large study hall as well as additional classrooms, an auditorium, and a fitness room.
In 1914, a three-story concrete school was built with a concrete shop in the rear for vocational training. Every classroom now had electric clocks. The original frame building was moved to Briggs School, an elementary school just outside the city of Santa Paula. In 1924, a new study hall unit was added to the east side of the building, parallel to the auditorium unit in the center of campus. The school's football field, which opened in 1925, was dedicated by alumni of the football team as Jones Field in 1929. Also in 1929, the library was established in the study hall. By this time, the student body numbered about 250 and the faculty 20. In 1938, construction for the new campus plant began and was completed in the spring of 1939 with Spanish-style architecture. The following year, most of the current school buildings were built for $329,000 under President Franklin D. Roosevelt's New Deal.

The Yeshiva Gedola of Passaic opened with 10 unmarried students in the yeshiva section and 10 married students in the kollel section. By the mid-1980s enrollment had reached nearly 100 students. In 1989 the yeshiva relocated to its own campus, including a beth midrash (study hall), dining room and dormitories. The growing yeshiva, together with the installation of an eruv and a mikveh, turned Passaic into a more desirable location for Orthodox Jewish families.
Christiana Middle School is a school in Murfreesboro, Rutherford County, Tennessee. It is located in the suburb of Christiana, to the south of the city. As of spring 2016, it has 54 teachers and 882 students in grades 6–8. The school has 54 teachers that teach English, Language Arts, Math, Reading, Science, History, and Specialty areas including PE, STEM, Art, Health and Wellness, Teen Living, Math and Reading Lab, Keyboarding, and Study Hall.
It was designed by the nationally known school architect, Mr. William B. Ittner of St. Louis, Missouri. With a student body growing to more than 1,000 students, a three-floor addition was added to the original high school in 1938. It consisted of classrooms, shop rooms, a cafeteria, a study hall/library, and a music room. Early in 1949, the construction of a modern gymnasium with a seating capacity of 4,000 was begun.
Reb Moshe and Reb Zanvil were born thereafter. Lubarski's faith in his mentor was so strong that he followed Reb Noson's guidance and teachings in all cases. Once his house was robbed, but instead of going out to find the thief, he repaired to the study hall, opened a copy of Reb Noson's Likutey Halachot, and began to study the laws and discourses on stealing. Soon afterward, his possessions were returned to him.
Amram Aburbeh was born on March 16, 1892 (17 Adar 5652) in Tétouan, Morocco. During his youth, he studied in Midrash Shlomo, a beit midrash (study hall) run by his father, Rabbi Shlomo Aburbeh. His mother was Yocheved Khalfon. In 1906 Aburbeh immigrated to Palestine with his paternal grandparents, Rabbi Yosef and Billiada Aburbeh. The rest of the family followed them 7 years later, settling in the Jewish Quarter of the Old City of Jerusalem.

The college has extensive grounds which stretch for a mile or so around the main building. This main school building has ~30 classrooms, gymnasium, 100 desk study-hall, dining room, kitchens, cloakrooms, first-aid room, offices. The tower and old building did once provide living accommodation for priests and a beautiful old dining-room. Similar to most other American boarding schools, academics at the Academy and College are demanding and highly competitive, and there is a mandatory two-hour "study hall" period from 7:30pm to 9:30pm each night in the students' barracks buildings.
Later in the 1930s, a study hall and refectory were extended. The all-boys school was among the few early schools that educated the children of the country's British officers, the Anglo-Burmese, the Anglo- Indians and the wealthy Burmese. When the College was first formed, however, it occupied the Commerce Building, now the East half of the Administration Building on the Main Quad. The Commerce building, dedicated in 1913, was built at a cost of $100 thousand. The College currently occupies three buildings: Wohlers Hall, Business Instructional Facility (BIF), and the Irwin Doctoral Study Hall. This area is known as the Business Quad and is considered part of the South Campus.
Built at the point when late Romanesque style was fading and Gothic rising, the rectangular prayer hall features a pair of Romanesque columns supporting groin vaults. The windows in the thick stone walls are simple gothic arches. The windows in the adjoining study hall, the so-called Rashi Shul, have rounded Romanesque arches. The women’s section of the prayer hall has Romanesque windows in the eastern wall, and gothic windows in the western wall.
Dundee-Crown did not meet the average yearly progress quota. As a result, the administration has decided to experiment with a new schedule. The new schedule consisted of blocks one and two, followed by "Charge It Up", or C.U.P. (displays characteristics of a study hall), and immediately followed by an ABC lunch system and fourth block. Additionally, the passing periods were reduced to seven minutes, rather than the ten minutes that students had grown accustomed to.

It is located on 3 Shmuel Refaeli Street in the Nachalat Ahim neighbourhood in Jerusalem. The synagogue was named Or Zaruaa after the Beth Midrash (study hall) that was held by Rabbi Shlomo Aburbeh, Rabbi Amram Aburbeh's father in his residence located in Avraham Azriel's court in the Old City of Jerusalem .

The Beis Medrash, formally called Talmudical Seminary Oholei Torah, and colloquially as Oholei Torah Zal (Yiddish zal, [study] hall), is the largest Lubavitch yeshiva in the United States. The Seminary currently has around 250 students. About 1/3 of the students live locally; the rest come from other parts of the United States, as well as Canada, United Kingdom, Australia, France, Israel, South America and South Africa. Oholei Torah has a dormitory to house its Beis Medrash students.

Córdoba Synagogue (Spanish: Sinagoga de Córdoba) is a historic edifice in the Jewish Quarter of Córdoba, Spain, built in 1315. The synagogue's small size points to it having possibly been the private synagogue of a wealthy man. It is also possible that Córdoba's complex of buildings was a yeshivah, kollel, or study hall. Another possibility is that this was the synagogue of a trade guild, which converted a residence or one of the work rooms into the synagogue.
After the siege, since all "Catholic" saints were banned, and they had a new meeting hall built in 1612, they became known as the "Nieuwe schuts", or "New shoots". That meeting hall in the Gasthuisstraat is still called the "Doelen" building after them. The dormitories for the Huamei Academy are located in the first building of the entrance right above the Cafe/ Restaurant. Each room has six to eight beds and two restrooms. The meals are served at the Hungry Scholar Cafe, the students have a choice of a Chinese Meal or a Western Meal. Study hall (a service parents pay extra for) for the students is between 6:00 pm and 8:00 pm in the evening Monday through Thursday.
This is a building that was meant to stand alone, which was a contrast to most college buildings of the time. When Altgeld Hall first opened, it housed the entire university. It was classroom, boardroom, library, gymnasium, administrative office building, and lecture hall. It housed chemical and physical laboratories, executive offices, a 1,200 seat auditorium, biology labs, a study hall, a museum, classrooms, a manual training shop, an independent water system, and finally a "dynamo" for light and power.

Distributed by North America Syndicate, a division of King Features Syndicate, it appears in more than 400 newspapers worldwide. While Batiuk was a 23-year-old middle school art teacher in Elyria, Ohio, he began drawing cartoons while supervising study hall. In 1970, his characters first appeared as a weekly panel, Rapping Around, on the teenage page of the Elyria Chronicle Telegram.
Northland Christian School is one of the few schools in the Houston area that offers athletics for both middle and high school. Northland Christian School requires all students to participate in Physical Education or Athletics. There is an option for students participating in Olympic-level sports such as the most commonly gymnastics, cheerleading, tumbling, soccer, taekwondo, karate, baseball, football, swimming, etc. outside of school as Off-campus PE to take study hall if they document at least 15 hours per week.
Assumption College was the first boys' school of the St. Gabriel Foundation in Thailand. In 1910, the school changed its name from Collège de l'Assomption to Assumption College or AC. When the number of students sharply increased, the existing study hall could not cater to the increasing numbers. At that time, the Brothers of Saint Gabriel established Assumption College Primary Section in 1965 in Sathon, Bangkok, on an area of six rai. The primary section was approved and opened on 22 May 1966.

They have provided the funding for the construction of a solidly built orphanage for over 140 orphans, mainly AIDS orphans. The second construction, common house, was completed in April 2006. When the seminary opened, the campus consisted of the mansion of merchant, leather-goods manufacturer and railroad executive John A. Horton (1807-1858), built in 1857–1858, which became the "St. Joseph’s House of Studies" and improved to accommodate class rooms, dormitories, recreation rooms, and study hall to accommodate about fifty novices. A former German girls school built in 1906, the building on Tannenstrasse offered facilities superior to those in Erlangen. It had a gymnasium, a large assembly room, and a large basement with a dining hall and a combination library and study hall.

In 2003 the yeshiva underwent a $5 million renovation, adding of space for dormitories, study rooms, and study hall.
Between 1926 and 1937, the building was used by the Tallinn French School, before, what was now the "Tallinn Railway Vocational School", reoccupied the building in 1939. The school building caught fire in 1969, and was reconstructed in 1978, with the addition of a new four-storey study hall, connected directly to the historical school building. Originally installed in 1974, a Škoda Works, Kc4-100 model, narrow-gauge steam locomotive, is still displayed on the school grounds commemorating the campus' railway heritage.
Chou Wong Yi Kung Study Hall in Shui Tau Tsuen Cheung Chun Yuen in Shui Tau Tsuen Shui Tau Tsuen () is a village in Kam Tin area, Yuen Long District, New Territories, Hong Kong. Kam Tin is the origins of Tang Clan, one of the Great Five Clans of Hong Kong. Shui Tau and Shui Mei Tsuen are famous for their prow-shaped roofs decorated with dragons and carp. The 17th century village is located 15 minutes' walk north of Kam Tin Road.
Followers of Rabbi Yisroel Hopsztajn, the Maggid of Kozhnitz, they donated generously to Hasidic causes, took hundreds of Hasidic Jews into their employ, and made their home a meeting place for the movement's followers. In 1807, the couple built the first Hasidic synagogue and study hall in the Praga suburb of Warsaw. The couple was honored by the Hasidic leaders of their day with their attendance at their children's weddings; they also married their only daughter to a grandson of Shmelke of Nikolsburg.
The hasmadah (diligence in Torah study) in the yeshiva was well known, with the average student studying fifteen hours each day. The most diligent students were called the "Lions of Grodno" or in Yiddish, the "Ariyos fun Grodno"; they were capable of learning for eighteen hours a day. Among the "lions" were Moshe Zaretsky and Yisrael Zev Gustman, future rosh yeshiva in Ramailes. The two both used stay in the beis medrash (Torah study hall) for months, immersed in Torah learning.
OTS's programs for women have opened doors in the realm of Jewish Orthodox female scholarship and leadership that had previously been shut to the entire female population. OTS started the first school to teach post-high school women Talmud on a high level. OTS’s women’s college features the largest women’s beit midrash [study hall] in Jewish history. The college has produced female leaders of Jewish communities worldwide, including the first female to officially serve as the director of a rabbinical court.
In 1912, Rabbi Rosenstain was appointed mashgiach ruchani of the Lomza Yeshiva in Poland, a position he held for the rest of his life. His saintliness and integrity in the yeshiva was part of what made it unique. In fact, he fasted for thirty years, eating only at night after completing maariv, and on Shabbos and holidays. He walked down the aisle between the shtenders in the yeshiva's beis midrash (study hall) for hours, and the Lomza yeshiva's beis midrash was exceedingly long.

Hayakawa later transitioned into doing talkies; his return to Hollywood and sound film debut came in Daughter of the Dragon (1931), starring opposite Chinese American performer Anna May Wong. His accent did not go over well when sound was added to movies.

Swimmers most often base their college decisions on how well they mesh with the existing team and coaching staff, the location of the school, the academic opportunities, and the cost of attendance. Student-athletes must reach a certain standard of academic performance depending on which college they seek to attend. In some cases, the athletic department may have some control over who is admitted. Once admitted however, academic regulation and policies, such as mandated study hall and credit hours, are strictly enforced.

Rich Brightman (born April 17, 1990) is an American singer-songwriter. He was born in Bay Shore, New York and raised on Long Island. Rich started writing songs on guitar in his childhood bedroom on Long Island before after dropping on music theory classes at Bay Shore High School and started to learn audio and mix engineering the school's recording studio during study hall, lunch, and his after school hours. Rich's mother, Sherry Brightman, gifted him a MacBook Pro for his high school graduation.
Meeting as a class during school can often cause schedule conflicts with students' academic classes. Many times jazz band may rehearse during the study hall, free period, or part of the lunch period. Typical instrumentation for jazz ensembles will include trumpets, trombones, alto, tenor and baritone saxophones, a drum set (often called a "trap set"), guitar, bass guitar, piano, clarinet and often, a vibraphone or marimba. Many areas have jazz festivals, but the popularity of these widely vary from different regions of the country.
The Wuaneita Society was a women's group at the University of Alberta from 1908 to 1973. For many decades, it functioned as a support system for the relatively few female students on campus. The group organized lectures, social events, and fundraisers, and eventually operated its own women-only study hall in the old Students' Union Building. The group's core traditions and identity were heavily appropriated from stereotypes of Cree culture, at a time in Canadian history when Indigenous communities were criminalized for practising their culture.
He laid the groundwork for the spread of Belzer Hasidism through the establishment of schools and yeshivas in Tel Aviv, Bnei Brak, and Jerusalem. In 1950, the Rebbe moved his court to the Jerusalem neighborhood of Katamon, and established a yeshiva there. 245 Lexington Avenue, known familiarly as "the Stern Building," is a campus hub, including a beit midrash (study hall), cafeteria, library, and science labs. The Stern College for Women (SCW) is the undergraduate women's college of arts and sciences of Yeshiva University. It is located at the university's Israel Henry Beren Campus in the Murray Hill section of Manhattan. The college provides programs in the sciences, social sciences, humanities, and Jewish studies, along with combined degree programs in dentistry, physical therapy, and engineering, among others.
More than 250 items, carefully preserved by the composer's family, were given to the museum and put back in their original places in the study, hall, drawing room and dining room. The completeness and authenticity of these rooms make the museum particularly invaluable. The other rooms in the apartment were renovated to create an exhibition room and concert halls in homage to the composer. The materials in the exhibition room give an idea of the diverse activities of Rimsky-Korsakov as composer, teacher and conductor.
The annexes were located at P.S. 152, P. S. 104, P.S. 153, and P.S. 101. In 1909, the Board of Education approved Snyder's plans for the next section of the school. This group of three buildings, including one to the north of the tower facing Flatbush Avenue, and two extending east along the northern side of the lot, comprised 31 classrooms, laboratories, study hall, music, drawing, physics, lecture and shop rooms.Journal of the Board of Education (January 27, 1909) 96, 157; (July 13, 1910) 1245.
Audio guided tours around the square were offered by Bauhaus Center Tel Aviv. Twice a week, a second-hand market took place at the bottom level; it was subsequently moved to Giv'on Square due to the square's reconstruction. The beis medrash (synagogue/study hall) of the Koidanover Rebbe, Rabbi Yaakov Tzvi Meir Ehrlich, is located in Dizengoff Square. This beis medrash serves as an outreach center where weekly lectures and a Friday- night Oneg Shabbat attract many secular Jews and guide them towards religious observance.
As a child, Lowe would collect rocks along the Black River, scratching the river rocks together to create drawings by using the smaller rocks as pastels upon larger rocks. Eventually Lowe experimented with using rocks ground together as pigment, using substances such as motor oil and Vaseline to bind the color. Disappointed with this process, he explored nature by creating drawings of "how snow sits on trees." He was allowed to take his study hall in high school in the art room, where he continued to experiment.
In the 1970s, SHS was known for a unique program called Substitute Enrichment Program, considered innovative at the time. Rather than call in substitute teachers, the funds that would have gone to pay the sub were used to help bring in special guest speakers and class-long programs. When a teach was absent, students had the option to attend the Sub Program or go to study hall. Run by a staff advisor and a team of student volunteers, the programming was often quite notable.
By 1923, the school was so overcrowded that it was running double sessions to teach its students in 12 rooms, so the township voted to build a new high school next door. The first Matawan High School was completed and occupied in 1924 on at the corner of Broad Street and South Street. The -story brick building of Georgian design was constructed at a cost of $175,000. It contained 13 classrooms, a study hall, a cafeteria, an auditorium seating 527, and a gymnasium with capacity for 300.
The average school day runs from 7:40am to 10pm, with seven to nine hours of classes during the day and three to five hours of selective study hall in the evenings. Students take up to eight classes of a foreign language a week, based on their respective departments. Classes last 50 minutes, and are followed by ten minutes of break. Lunch and supper are both served in the school cafeteria, lasting 70 minutes, from 11:50am to 1:00pm and 5:40pm to 7:50pm, respectively.
Fischel's efforts on behalf of Yeshiva College and its predecessor yeshivot can be highlighted as follows: in 1889, Fischel became a director of the Etz Chaim Yeshiva; in 1895, Fischel became the Chair of its Building Committee; in 1915, he became the Chair of the Building Committee of the newly merged Etz Chaim Yeshiva and Rabbi Isaac Elchanan Theological Seminary, and a vice-president of the latter; in 1920 he became the Chair of the Building Committee of the institution that would become Yeshiva College; and in 1927 he was the Chair of the Building Committee upon the occasion of the laying of the cornerstone of the main building of the main campus of Yeshiva College in Washington Heights (now known as the Wilf Campus). Fischel established the Harry Fischel Graduate School for Higher Jewish Studies at Yeshiva University in 1945. The main study hall or bet medrash in the main building of the main campus is known to this day as the Harry Fischel Study Hall. He played a primary role in saving the college from the brink of bankruptcy and closure during the Great Depression.
In 2005 there was controversy when the Bow High School administration told a student, Isabel Gottlieb, that she would not graduate for not satisfying the state's physical education requirement. The student did not want to take the minimum state requirements of Physical Education, and opted for study hall instead. The situation was resolved when her previous high school issued her a new transcript, awarding her credit for participation in varsity athletics. In June 2005 the student population, with the exception of the senior class, took place in a school mandated DHHS survey.
The auditorium was finished in 1925, just in time for the seniors to present their play, and the cafeteria was completed only a few weeks before the summer vacation. The original gym was remodeled in 1959 to accommodate two full-sized gymnasium floors and provide a total seating capacity of 4,000. An additional wing was added in 1963 providing nine classrooms, a reading laboratory, a foreign language laboratory, a music room, and a study hall. The grounds were carefully planned by landscape gardeners before the building was built.

After the Geonic Period Jews went on to establishing more Yeshiva academies in Europe and in Northern Africa. One of these include the Kairuan yeshiva in Spain (Hebrew: ישיבת קאירואן) that was established by Chushiel Ben Elchanan (Hebrew: חושיאל בן אלחנן) in 974.מרדכי וורמברנד ובצלאל ס. רות, עם ישראל – תולדות 4000 שנה – מימי האבות ועד חוזה השלו Traditionally, every town rabbi had the right to maintain a number of full-time or part-time pupils in the town's beth midrash (study hall), which was usually adjacent to the synagogue.
Central High School, of Fargo, North Dakota, was the first public high school in Fargo. Central High School served grades 9-12, while Central School served K-8. CHS was built originally in the early 1800s, but became "finalized" and had was moved to 2nd Ave South in 1921, however the new CHS didn't last long. On the afternoon of April 19, 1966, a teacher holding a study hall with 51 students in the theater heard crackling, and popping- the upper story of the school had started on fire.
There are two entrances on the front facade, each under classic Richardsonian arches, with additional entrances on the east side and the rear. In its first use as a training school, the first floor included a reception area, science classrooms, and training classrooms for elementary grades. The second floor housed a study hall and assembly hall capable of holding the whole student population (about 175), as well as the principal's office, science laboratories, other classrooms, and studio space for artistic disciplines. There was a gymnasium in the basement.
Yiddle commercial success inaugurated a short boom of Yiddish cinema. Convinced there was a large enough market, producer Roman Rebush hired director Edgar G. Ulmer to adapt Peretz Hirschbein's play Green Fields. Hirschbein's piece depicted a scholarly, melancholic yeshiva bokhr (student) who leaves the study hall to meet "real Jews" and falls in love with a peasant's daughter whom he secretly tutors in Hebrew. Ulmer's Green Fields had an international acclaim rivaling Yiddle with his Fiddle, again with hundreds of thousands (even a million, according to one reporter) of viewers.

Apart from being an ancestral hall for people to show respect to their ancestors and hold clan meetings, it was also a study hall for the Tang clans, who were taught with a Chinese traditional teaching method known as Bok Bok Chai.
Due to the construction of the Kowloon-Canton Railway at the beginning of the 20th century, the village was separated into Shui Wai and Tai Po Tau. A three- story watchtower was built in Tai Po Tau for defensive purposes, however, it was demolished in the 1980s. Apart from being a place for ancestral worship, it was used as a shuk (study hall) for preparing clan members for important imperial examinations. For some time, it was used as the premises of Kai Chi School which was subsequently relocated in 1953.
Bickel was born in 1960 and grew up in Bowie, Maryland where he grew up across the street from fellow Junkie John-Paul Flaim and in the same neighborhood as John Auville. Bickel attended DeMatha Catholic High School in Hyattsville, Maryland, where he befriended soon-to-be-Junkie Jason Bishop. After high school, Bickel attended the University of Maryland, where he majored in psychology, worked as a study hall monitor before becoming a "Junkie" in 1997. Bickel married his wife, Dina, in 1996 and they have three children, Stephen, Megan and Kate .
Interior of the Ohr ha-Chaim Synagogue The Ohr ha-Chaim Synagogue () is situated on Ohr ha-Chaim Street in the Armenian Quarter of the Old City of Jerusalem. It is located on the top floor of a building which also houses the Ari Synagogue and Old Yishuv Court Museum. It is named after Rabbi Chaim ibn Attar's magnum opus, the Ohr ha-Chaim, a popular commentary on the Pentateuch. Arriving in Jerusalem from Morocco in 1742, Rabbi Attar established a study hall in this building together with a women's section.
In addition, qualified students in all three years of middle school are chosen for the school's Junior High Academic Decathlon team, which takes place of their first semester Exploratory. All middle school students are placed in an advisory with several other of their classmates and a teacher. This is their group for all of middle school; students sign agreements to not reveal anything said in their advisory outside of the advisory time. Generally, advisory activities are team-building and discussion – if no activity is given, the period becomes a study hall.
The planetarium features a star projector manufactured by Spitz Laboratories, Inc., of Yorklyn, Delaware which is capable of producing night skies featuring stars, the solar system, coordinates, and the earth's geography. In order to accommodate the planetarium, the East Study Hall was partitioned off for the installation of a dome measuring 30-foot in diameter and two stairwells leading to the telescope in the observatory. This project was the first of its kind at the time and was approved under the Federal Elementary and Secondary Education Act, Title One.
In the Senior School there are six science laboratories plus two computer suites, a technology suite, art and design suite, music suite, home economics room, business studies suite including computer room, study hall, library, Upper Sixth social centre, Lower Sixth social centre, sports hall and twenty-two general classrooms. Drama and musical performances take place in the assembly hall. In the Junior School, there is a library, two information technology suites, a technology suite, three science laboratories, home economics, art and music rooms. There are fourteen general classrooms, a fully equipped gymnasium and assembly hall.
When Tabitha, a new student arrives, he soon strikes up a relationship with her, and she joins in the taunting of Amber. After an incident in Study Hall, Amber reports Thayer’s actions to the teacher and he is sent for discipline by the school principal. After school, Thayer returns home to learn that news of the trouble in class has reached his father. Because of this, Thayer’s brother Dooley is summoned by their father to hold him down on the ground while their father whips him with his belt.
In 2006–07, the beis medrash was resurrected yet again by Rabbi Bentzion Mellman and Rabbi Dovid Hoffman. Mellman acted as rosh beis medrash and instructor of Iyyun (a slower, in-depth Talmudic analysis) and Hoffman as the "Sho'el u-Maishiv" (study-hall mentor) and instructor of B'kius (a faster, less in-depth method of Talmudic study). The inaugural class consisted of seven members; however three more students joined the program in the middle of the year. The program continued through the 2008–09 year, but has been discontinued.
On Jewish holidays, such as Rosh Hashanah ("new year"), hundreds of Pshevorsker Hasidim, and also other Hasidim such as Vizhnitz and Satmar, come to Antwerp to pray at the Pshevorsker prayer gatherings, which are usually held in a large wedding hall. The Pshevorsker's headquarters is the beis midrash (or, "study hall") known as Beis Yitzchok, at Mercatorstraat 56 in Antwerp. There are organized groups of Pshevorsk Hasidim in London and also in Manchester, and groups in the United States and Israel. A shul was built in London, where the Rebbe's son serves as the Rav.
In 1964, after the passing of his father-in-law, he became the rosh yeshiva of the Mirrer Yeshiva together with his brother-in-law Rabbi Shraga Moshe Kalmanowitz. His diligence in Torah study was legendary and he was known to spend the entire day in the yeshiva's study hall discussing Torah topics with the students. As a policy, he would not attend any functions or weddings until after the afternoon seder in the yeshiva was over. This caused many weddings to take place late in the evening so as to allow him to officiate.
From its inception the synagogue has served three parallel purposes. It is a place of daily prayer services, a study hall for advanced students, and an assembly hall for Chabad gatherings, known as Farbrengens. Here the Lubavitcher Rebbe or elder Chassidim would address Chassidim and other visitors about Torah observance and Chassidic philosophy and practice.A Chassidic Gathering with the Rebbe As the Lubavitch movement grew in the United States, the original synagogue became too small to house the chasidim and students who came to pray and study there.

Claudio Mal holds command of the San Ignacio police in his absence. On one such break he oversaw the opening of the San Ignacio police's "drop-in center", a study hall with computers and internet connection intended for the use of students and teachers, which he hoped could help improve relations between the police and the community at large. During his summer vacation after successfully completing the first year of his LL.B., he went to the Prosecution Branch in Belize City to offer assistance and learn first-hand about prosecutorial work.
Before long enrolments again increased and additional accommodation became an urgent need. A wooden building was hastily erected, housing classrooms and study hall until it was replaced in 1907-1908 by a three-storeyed brick building later known as the "Junior School". As student numbers increased, additional rooms again became necessary and in 1913-1914 a new wing was constructed on the eastern side of the original residence. The site has been continually developed since, with significant redevelopment occurring in 1961 and most recently over the period 1979–81.
In the end, virtually the entire Mir Yeshiva was able to escape Europe via the Trans-Siberian Railroad to Vladivostok, and from there to Kobe, Japan. The yeshiva, together with many other Jewish refugees who managed to escape to the east, were later transferred to Shanghai, where the Japanese interred them in a ghetto. Rabbi Kalmanowitz continued sending money to them. Fragments of the Polish chassidic Chachmei Lublin Yeshiva also managed to escape to Japan and then China, and studied in the same beth midrash (Torah study hall) as the Mir.
Returning to Jerusalem, he was given letters of recommendation nominating him as a rabbinical emissary or shadar sent to obtain support for a bet ha-midrash (study hall) which he intended to establish. At Rashid (Rosetta), Abraham Nathan gave him 30,000 thalers to deposit at Livorno for this purpose. Arriving at Livorno, he secured from Vega, the protector of his family, a promise of further support; but his Palestinian enemies slandered him and ruined his prospects. He subsequently wandered through Italy, and edited at Venice (1704) the Halakot Ketannot of his father.

A music wing, cafeteria, gymnasium and more classrooms were added. The swimming pool was converted into a freshman study hall and library. In the late 1950s, the late E. E. McMillan was honored as the namesake of the nearby middle school, McMillan Magnet Center. Overcrowding began to become a problem in the 1960s, and by the 1970s, more than 2,400 students were enrolled. The Omaha Public Schools initiated a desegregation plan in 1976, and in the 1980s, the temporary elimination of 9th grade at North led to decreased enrollment.
Without the resources needed to heat and maintain the sanctuary, they chose to worship downstairs in the more intimate beth midrash (study hall). The main sanctuary remained empty for twenty-five years, from approximately 1955 to 1980. In 1986 the non- sectarian, not-for-profit Eldridge Street Project was founded to restore the synagogue and renew it with educational and cultural programs. Paul P. E. Bookson, a former State Senator and Civil Court Justice, was instrumental in maintaining the Orthodox Religious services at the Eldridge Street Synagogue and its building restoration.
Charles "Chuck" McGregor, while serving as senior technologist for Eastern Acoustic Works, wrote a guideline for professional audio purchasers wishing to select properly sized amplifiers for their loudspeakers. Chuck McGregor recommended a rule of thumb in which the amplifier's maximum power output rating was twice the loudspeaker's continuous (so-called "RMS") rating, give or take 20%. During the tenure of Archbishop-Primate Manuel de S. Galdino (1812–1831), an additional preparatory course was established at Mapusa (North of Goa). To accommodate increasing number of Theology students, Archbishop-Patriarch Valente built a two-storey new wing between 1890 and 1894. The first floor contained forty single rooms and a dormitory and study hall for beginners, while the second floor contained a library hall. Other students, called externos, were housed in rented cottages (comensalidades) under a Prefect of Discipline, from which they would commute to the Seminary for Mass and classes.
They secured frequent gigs in the Dallas area and were often paid from $50-200 a night. They were noticed by local entrepreneur Tom Brown, who initially attempted to have them signed to RCA Victor, but then signed them to his own local Vandan label. The Immaculate Conception Minor Seminary, located at the Fiat Compound in Cavinitan, was opened in 1976. The first batch of first year high school seminarians stayed at a dormitory located at the Immaculate Conception Seminary Academy (formerly Immaculate Conception Academy) in downtown Virac, where they also went for their academic studies. In the school year 1976-77, these seminarians were transferred to the Nazareth Homes (west wing) until the seminary was ready to house them. They used the present study hall as their dormitory while the seminary dorm was on its final finishing.
Nanaimo District Secondary School or Nanaimo District Community School (NDSS) is a public high school in Nanaimo, British Columbia, Canada built in 1952. Since then there have been a few renovations, most notably the 1981 construction of the "tower", which houses a number of computer classes and several classrooms. The school has a capacity of about 1600 students. The school has a metal workshop, a woodwork shop, seven computer labs, two gymnasiums, a study hall, two cafeterias, an Automotive Shop, Distance Education programs, and the CTC (career and technical center).
During the rule of Tokugawa Yoshimune (1716–1745), the Fukiage gardens changed considerably in accord with his philosophy of the promotion of diligence, industrial development and the encouragement of literary and martial arts. He built a study hall, atelier, astronomical observatory, equestrian grounds, archery field, gun field, herb refinery, food factories for sake, sugar, cake and a sheep-raising yard. However, Tokugawa Ienari (office 1787–1837) made the Fukiage Gyoen to the previous gardens. In the later years of the Edo era, not much attention was given to the garden.
On the weekends there are usually school-sponsored trips to either Providence or Boston, which are both less than an hour from campus by bus. Also, there are activities such as vans to the local cinema, trips to the mall or local restaurants. On campus, there are usually a combination of dances, dorm activities, film screenings, hypnotists, visiting bands, intramural sports competitions and other various events. Every night the Beebe Grill is open in the Fish Center for students to get something to eat after study hall, or a place where there are musical performances and dances on the weekends.
Advertisement circa 1916 In March 1905, construction began on a combination barracks and classroom facility. Within six months the building was completed, in time for the start of the 1905 school year that September. Eventually named South Barracks, the three-story brick fortress-like structure stood on the top of the hill at the southern edge of the academy grounds overlooking Mary Baldwin College. The arched entranceway at the north end led to an open quadrangle surrounded by cadet rooms, classrooms, and study hall on the first floor and open galleries with cadet rooms and suspended walkways on the two upper floors.

Many of its building have survived from the Azuchi-Momoyama and early Edo period, making it a great example of the Japanese architecture from the 17th and 18th centuries. A total of seven Nishi Hongan-ji structures have been designated National Treasures in three different categories: the karamon, Goei-dō and Amida hall (temple buildings), the Flying Cloud Pavilion, shoin and the Black study hall, including the Denrō gallery (residences) and the north Noh stage (miscellaneous structure). Nishi Hongan-ji was designated a UNESCO World Heritage Site in 1994, as part of the Historic Monuments of Ancient Kyoto.

Throughout the 60s and 70s, as the university's female population grew, the club's thousands of members clashed over the group's purpose: some wanted to continue focusing on etiquette and domesticity while others were keen to address progressive issues like birth control and drug use. The Club wound down in 1973.
According to the Derry People, "close on three hundred past students...came from all parts of the country, and some from overseas, to do honour to their Alma Mater". One member of the original staff, Denis J. Murray, was still alive and present on the day. As with the earlier jubilee, High Mass was held in the nearby cathedral, this time presided over by former member of staff, Fr. John McMackin (who had by then become professor of English at the pontifical university of St Patrick's College, Maynooth). A banquet was held that evening in the study hall.
A truly formidable character and head of "study hall", he suffered no fools lightly. More than once he was known to send a textbook flying across the classroom with unerring accuracy to awaken one inattentive student or another. In 1956, at the request of his school headmaster, he published his first book, a study guide called Study Is Hard Work. Armstrong followed this title with numerous other self-help books, and in 1963 he was awarded the National School Bell Award of the National Association of School Administrators for distinguished service in the interpretation of education.
Originally named the Robert Lindblom Technical High School, the three-story building was designed by architect Arthur Hussander and completed in 1919. Lindblom was designed in a Beaux-Arts style and has a neo-classical façade with Roman columns. The building contains a 2,000-seat auditorium (with two balconies), two gymnasiums, a large study hall/ballroom on the third floor with a barrel-vaulted ceiling and large skylights, a swimming pool, and a greenhouse. It first served a population with a high number of European immigrants and emphasized the importance of education in assimilation and advancement.
Levy Yitzchok is an orphaned yeshiva student. Restless and distressed, he leaves his study hall in search of "real Jews" and wanders through the Belorussian countryside. He eventually settles in a small village, where the only Jews are two peasant families: Dovid-Noich, his wife Rochel, their two sons, Hersh Ber and Avraham Yankov, and daughter Tsine; and Elkone, his wife Gittel and their daughter Stera. Dovid is flattered by the presence of a scholar among the poor unlearned peasants, and invites Levy Yitzchok to stay as a boarder and tutor his two sons in religious studies.
With the opening of a new Red Bank Junior High School in 1960, grades 7 – 9 were removed from Red Bank High School, opening up much more space for the increasing school population and for a much needed home economics department. During the 1970 – 1971 school year, a new cafeteria, study hall, and gymnasium were added and the old cafeteria space was renovated for use by the JROTC department. Recognizing that the limited acreage of the campus on Dayton Boulevard prohibited further growth, Red Bank High School changed campuses with Red Bank Junior High School in the summer of 1982.
Weissmandl also intervened with the Slovak government to allow the Nitra Yeshiva to continue functioning as the only legal yeshiva in the country during the next two years. To assist students who were still being accosted and sent to forced labor camps, the yeshiva constructed hiding places under the bimah and above bookcases in its study hall, in the event of Nazi raids. Often, the warning came at such short notice that Talmuds would be left lying open on the tables as everyone fled and hid. Despite these disruptions, Ungar continued to teach and give weekly examinations as usual.
The Talmud provides many examples of the practical application of this principle. One such example is brought by a Tosefta (B.Berachot 53a) which quotes a situation in which many individuals were gathered together and learning in a study hall when a candle arrived for use in the havdalah prayer that is recited at the end of Shabbat. In such a case, either each individual could recite his own blessing on the fire, or one person can recite the blessing and all of the others can listen and respond amen, thereby fulfilling their obligation to recite the blessing.
It was thought to compromise the integrity of the symbolic press box as well as the structure of the home side bleachers. Similar cave-ins occurred in 1937 when the east end of the stadium was deemed unstable and suffered collapses and required numerous tons of fill to render the field safe for athletic competition. In 1966, a planetarium-observatory was added to the school's 3rd Floor. The planetarium was installed in what was the East Study Hall area and seats 72 observers, while the observatory located on the roof of the East Wing can accommodate 20 observers.
Kim Il- son and other followers of Kim Jong-jik were accused of treason by the Hungu faction, many of whom originally gained power from their support of Sejo. Because Yeonsangun's lineage came from Sejo, Sarim faction's view of Sejo's usurpation was considered to be treasonable. Yeonsangun - who disliked academia and was notorious for turning the Seonggyungwan, royal study hall, into his personal brothel - found an opportunity to purge the Sarim scholars and weaken Three Offices. Kim Il-son and two others were "drawn and quartered" (each limb was pulled apart by ox) while three were beheaded.
Up the many flights of stairs were complete scientific laboratories, an art room flooded with natural light by skylights, and a library stocked with classics and modern literature as well as scientific and mathematical volumes. The large study hall bore a complete copy of the Parthenon Frieze and there were copies of European and American statuary and artwork throughout the building for the girls to study and draw. The building was so intriguing that a model of it was made for the Columbian Exposition of 1893 in Chicago and numerous articles about it appeared in newspapers across the country.
Ner Israel has two central study halls, one for the high school (known as the Mechina) and one much larger for the beis medrash and the kollel (also doubling as the main prayer sanctuaries). There is an additional study hall/multi-purpose room of a smaller size that is called the "Friedman Beis Medrash". Enrollment is approximately 250 students in its high school division, 300 students in its beis medrash/undergraduate division, and about 200 members in its kollel/postgraduate division. JMPS students in 8-12th grade are given the opportunity to select one club-class first and second trimester. A trimester club-class meets for two class periods a week and is worth half a credit for high school students (two in total each year). There is a variety of clubs offered such as Anime Club, Art Club, Chess Club, Choreography Club, Debate Club, Improv Club, Student Newspaper, Health and First-Aid Club, Yearbook, Weight Training Club, Archery Club, Quidditch Club, and Spanish Club. Students can also decide to be in study hall, but are not awarded the half credit for this.

The song "The Product of Hate" was a stand- alone single of the band released in 2013, the song was released in order to help because of the Boston Marathon bombing. It's the first album featuring Justin Morrow as bass guitarist, after the departure of Steve Koch. The album marks the band's first entrance onto the Billboard 200 debuting at No. 153 overall, No. 3 on the Heatseekers chart, No. 13 on the Hard Rock chart.
The Fall School is the oldest public school building remaining in Nashville, Tennessee, U.S. Built in 1898, it was named after Phillip S. Fall, a Nashville businessman and member of the Board of Education from 1865–1867. The Fall School was notable because it had individual classrooms, unlike the earlier study hall design. It served as an elementary school until 1970, and has been listed on the National Register of Historic Places since December 19, 1979. In 1982 a private company renovated it for offices, and today it serves as home of the Nashville Church of Scientology & Celebrity Centre.
The building was designed at the time when extracurricular activities for sports and theatre, multi-function areas as gym/cafeteria and library/study hall, and "progressive education" ideologies that provided more hands-on learning for science, commercial, manual training, and domestic science were all becoming popular. The single-story brick annex was designed by the Des Moines architectural firm of Keffer and Jones in the Modern Movement style. It featured an open floor plan and glass block walls. This building was used for the cafeteria and kitchen, and it provided space for music, band, and industrial arts.
Each girl paid $80 tuition per year, and at the end of the first year one of the students was accepted to and enrolled in Randolph-Macon Woman's College. In 1915, the school relocated to a larger brick building at 611 Palmetto Street. In 1947, GPS again moved, this time to its current home on Island Avenue, with 14 classrooms, a study hall, library and dining hall. Since the move, the campus has been significantly added on to and revitalized, with the addition of a separate middle school and high school, an 800-seat theater, and a new student center, among other facilities.
When not creating art he also played sports; football and basketball, and enjoyed chemistry and geology. He was told he was good at drawing, and replaced study hall classes with art classes, receiving instruction and inspiration from a Welsh teacher named R. Idris Thomas. While in high school Beauchamp would go, every Monday, to the public library and a local museum where he would read books about art; specifically French painting, as assigned by Thomas. Beauchamp would spend upwards of four hours a day in the art room and eventually won the Carter Memorial Prize, which provided a scholarship to the Colorado Springs Fine Arts Center.

From its foundation until 1860, the library functioned in the building of Academia Mihăileană (now destroyed). It was housed in the old university building (now the University of Medicine and Pharmacy) until 1897 and in the new university building (now the study hall of the Gheorghe Asachi Technical University of Iași) until after World War II, when it moved into the building of the King Ferdinand I Foundation's Library, the collections of which it now includes. This structure was built between 1930 and 1934 by the engineer Emil Prager following architect Constantin Jotzu's plans.
The school was initially named Tao Nan Study Hall (道南學堂, Daonan Xuetang), the name Tao Nan being short for wu dao qi nan (吾道其南), meaning 'My code of behaviour is promulgated in Southeast Asia'. It had 90 students in its first year. As the number of pupils grew, Tan Kah Kee proposed that a new building be constructed, and $40,000 was raised by the Hokkien community for the building fund, to which Tan contributed $2,000. The sugar tycoon Majoor Oei Tiong Ham also gave $10,000 for the purchase of the land on Armenian Street on which Tao Nan School was built.
In addition to her professional service, Widmer received a Distinguished Alumna Award from Yale University (1975) and an honorary award from the Connecticut Nurses Association (1967). Opened in 2012, the Carolyn Ladd Widmer Wing of Storrs Hall (site of the nursing school) was named in her honor. The Widmer Wing is a 15,800-square-foot space built at the cost of $14 million and housing a large classroom, study hall, clinical simulation rooms, and exam rooms. The nursing school's former home was the Carolyn Ladd Widmer Building, built in 1919 originally for service as the college infirmary, from 1950 to 1996, when the building was closed and demolished.

Upon Ryder's return, suspicions continued, despite his defense that the correspondence involved only spiritual counseling, but they finally ceased following Roothaan's order in 1847 that the correspondence end. Upon returning to the United States, he was appointed by Bishop Fenwick as president of the College of the Holy Cross on October 9, 1845, succeeding the school's first president, Thomas F. Mulledy. As president, he oversaw the construction of an east wing at the college, in accordance with the original plan for the school, which contained a dining room, chapel, study hall, and dormitory. This wing was the only part of the school spared by a subsequent fire in 1852.
The Beis HaMedrash, Talmudic Seminary Oholei Torah was founded in 1970, for post-high school Talmudic studies. In 1975, the school began renting space for the elementary classes at the Brooklyn Jewish Center at 667 Eastern Parkway, built in 1920, and purchased the building outright in 1982. Beginning in 1997, the building underwent a major expansion, with a new wing (known as the Deitsch Campus, after the school's major financial patron Dovid Deitsch) and a study hall for the Talmudical Seminary. In 1994, the elementary school was renamed "Oholei Menachem" in honor of Rabbi Menachem Mendel Schneerson, though the old name persists in general usage.
The southern face of the building The main portion of the Testing Center is a large main testing room, which originally served as BYU's library, and now is filled with approximately 650 desks. Students enter through the center's administration area. The center also has a few smaller rooms with even more desks (one of which, the music room, has soft classical music playing through wall-mounted speakers), study hall rooms downstairs for test preparation, and faculty offices. She is the founder of Slow Factory Foundation, a 501c3 public service organization working at the intersection of environmental and social justice, which produces a conference series promoting sustainability literacy called Study Hall, and the first science-driven incubator in fashion called One X One. She is on the Council of Progressive International, became a Director's Fellow of MIT Media Lab in 2016, and served on the Board of Directors of AIGA NY, a nonprofit membership organization that helps cultivate the future of design in New York City from 2016-2017.
Some schools welcome day students to attend breakfast and dinner, while others charge a fee. For schools that have designated study hours or quiet hours in the evenings, students on campus (including day students) are usually required to observe the same "quiet" rules (such as no television, students must stay in their rooms, library or study hall, etc.). Schools that have both boarding and day students sometimes describe themselves as semi-boarding schools or day boarding schools. Some schools also have students who board during the week but go home on weekends: these are known as weekly boarders, quasi-boarders, or five-day boarders.
In 2008, the school began a A$5 million project to upgrade the library into a multi-resource centre for the students and the community, and this was completed in 2009. The facility consists of a study hall with computer facilities, thousands of books, and six rooms where students or the community can study or meet. BMG - 7th Street Study Hall 1943 Beth Medrash Govoha is a successor institution to Yeshivas Etz Chaim, which was located in Slutzk, in what is today Belarus. That institution was led by Rabbi Isser Zalman Meltzer and by Rabbi Aaron Kotler, until it was forcibly closed by the Soviet Revolution of 1917, which banned all forms of Jewish studies Etz Chaim was reestablished in Kletzk, under then Polish rule by Rabbi Aaron Kotler, where it thrived until World War II and the destruction of much of European Jewry. Rabbi Kotler escaped the Nazis in 1941 and came to the United States where he opened BMG in 1943.

Since having the right chavrusa makes all the difference between having a good year and a bad year, class rebbis may switch chavrusas eight or nine times in a class of 20 boys until the partnerships work for both sides. If a chavrusa gets stuck on a difficult point or needs further clarification, they can turn to the rabbis, lecturers, or a sho'el u'mashiv (literally, "ask and answer", a rabbi who is intimately familiar with the Talmudic text being studied) who are available to them in the study hall during sedarim. In women's yeshiva programs, teachers are on hand to guide the chavrusas.
Chavrusa learning tends to be loud and animated, as the study partners read the Talmudic text and the commentaries aloud to each other and then analyze, question, debate, and defend their points of view to arrive at a mutual understanding of the text. In the heat of discussion, they may wave their hands or even shout at each other. Depending on the size of the yeshiva, dozens or even hundreds of chavrusas can be heard discussing and debating each other's opinions. One of the skills of chavrusa learning is the ability to block out all other discussions in the study hall and focus on one's study partner alone.
Today, Westside has two part-time faculty, 102 full-time faculty, two library media specialists, one media clerk, five guidance counselors, two assistant principals, one instructional specialist, one school nurse, one athletic director, one testing coordinator, one computer facilitator, two computer lab technicians, one resource security officer, two security staff, two ISS supervisors, one study hall supervisor, ten support staff, one academy director, and one principal serving over 1700 students in grades 9-12. It has just completed the construction of a new gym, a new English Department building, new press boxes for both softball and baseball, and with the destruction of the courtyard, a new administrative building and commons area.
Orot Hatshuva study hall in Har Nof Rabbi David Yosef is the head of the Yachveh Da'at Kollel and the chief rabbi of Har Nof. Har Nof has a large number of synagogues, yeshivas, and Torah study institutions, among them are: Imrei Shefer, Boston Shul, Kehilat Zichron Yosef, Heichal Hatorah, Yeshiva Pachad Yitzchok, Machon Shlomo, Yeshivat Lev Aharon, and Machon Yaakov. The campuses of Neve Yerushalayim and She'arim College of Jewish Studies for Women are located in Har Nof,Neve Yerushalyim College as is Yechaveh Da'at, Rabbi Ovadia Yosef's synagogue and spiritual headquarters. On 18 November 2014, an attack occurred at the Kehilat Bnei Torah synagogue.
The original campus was built in 1905, with expansions and additions being made in 1911, 1924, and 1926; the last was a large gymnasium. In the 1930s, the school became one of the first buildings in Tennessee to be aided by the Civilian Conservation Corps, and it was given a $250,000 grant by the CWA in the winter of 1933–34. Hundreds of workers were brought in from Memphis, Tennessee to build an auditorium, library, and study hall in later years. The second campus sat at the intersection of Byhalia and Frank Road on the same property that once held the Bellevue High-Security Correctional Facility.
Study halls generally have assigned rooms and are monitored by teachers or teacher's aides, who often encourage students to use this time to complete homework, catch up on missing assignments, or study for tests or quizzes. Sometimes, students also use study halls to converse, make phone calls, text messages, play video games, or otherwise socialize or pursue non-academic topics, though this is sometimes discouraged or forbidden. Periods in which such things are allowed are occasionally differentiated from study halls by the name "free period". Some students even eat lunch during a study hall due to long lines and short lunch periods at their schools.
David H. Zysman Hall, a Moorish Revival building on Yeshiva University's Wilf Campus, is home to the main beit midrash (Torah study hall). In 1970, in order to comply with laws regarding government aid to sectarian institutions, Yeshiva, in a move that aroused considerable opposition by some, including Rabbi Soloveitchik, officially became a secular university, changing the status of RIETS (the rabbinical seminary), the high schools, and related divisions to "affiliates." However, the two-halves of the institution remain very close, both in practice and officially on paper. In addition, the undergraduate schools, part of the officially secular university, continue to require a full course of Judaic studies from their students.
The Moshannon Valley School Board has determined that a pupil must earn 25 credits to graduate, including: Math 4 credits, English 4 credits, social studies 4 credits, science 4 credits, Physical Education and health 2.5 credits, Family Life Skills 0.5 credit, Computers 1 credit, Arts/Humanities 2 credits and electives. Students are required to take 8 credits each year and are allowed one study hall per day. By law, all Pennsylvania secondary school students must complete a project as a part of their eligibility to graduate from high school. The type of project, its rigor and its expectations are set by the individual school district.
Washington operates on an 8:10 a.m. to 3:05 p.m. schedule, of which broken up into seven class periods, the fourth or fifth period assigned for freshmen and sophomores as a study hall/lunch break, and an off-campus lunch hour designated for qualifying juniors and seniors, pending parental approval, an 85% average on semester tests and adequate standardized test scores. When he returned to Poland to raise the rest of the money, however, his plan was thwarted by an economic depression that hit Poland shortly after his return. He eventually lost his rights to the land, as well as the money he had invested in it. Meanwhile, Rabbi Chanoch stayed in Jerusalem, living first in the Bucharim neighborhood and then settling in the new Bayit VeGan neighborhood, where he established a beth midrash (study hall). Upon the death of their father, the Second Sochatchover Rebbe, in 1926, Rabbi Dovid acceded to the leadership of the Sochatchover Hasidim, while Rabbi Chanoch continued to live and study in Palestine.

Jerusalem International Convention Center in July 2012 for an English-language Siyum HaShas for both men and women attendees In 1997, Rabbi Dovid Hofstedter, a Canadian Jewish businessman working in real estate and property management, opened a small beis medrash (study hall) in his Toronto office. He sought like-minded Jewish businessmen to participate in an early-morning program that included chavrusa-style learning and a shiur (Torah lecture), followed by morning prayers and hot coffee. As an extra incentive, Hofstedter offered a small stipend, and introduced a system of regular tests by which participants could assess their progress. The program was well-received, and word spread to other communities in Canada and the United States.
The Coaches Pavilion is the school's gymnasium, which was renovated in 2005 and again in 2007. The floor was renovated in the fall of 2008, 2009, and 2014. Late 2006 saw the construction of the Salem Student Commons, a new cafeteria and study hall area. During the summer of 2008, Conal hall underwent a major renovation, in which many aspects of the hall were upgraded, most notably: the installation of larger and more energy-efficient windows; the addition of LCD projectors in every room; the replacement of traditional blackboards with whiteboards, as well as the replacement of all lockers, ceilings, and lights; and upgrading the electric and network infrastructure of the campus.

The Predator is the second EP by American metalcore band Ice Nine Kills and was self-released by the band on January 15, 2013. The EP debuted at No. 9 on the Billboard Heatseekers chart. It is the only album to feature Steve Koch as bassist and backup singer after his departure in 2013, and the last album to feature Justin Morrow as rhythm guitarist; he would switch to bass guitar and backing vocals (on live performance only) while still playing rhythm guitar in studio in 2013. The Beit Midrash (main study hall) of "Yazhlatz" Rabbi Yerachamiel Weiss, the Rosh Yeshiva Yashlatz (, acronym for Yeshivat Yerushalayim L’Tzeirim, "Jerusalem Yeshiva for Youth") is a National Religious yeshiva high school in Jerusalem. It was founded in 1964 by Rabbi Yaakov Filber, one of the foremost students of Rav Tzvi Yehuda HaCohen Kook, to serve as institution of choice for teenage boys of the Mercaz Harav community. Yashlatz is considered to be one of the leading mamlachti dati yeshiva high schools in Israel, both in its religious and educational standards; and it serves as the institution of choice for teenage boys of the Mercaz Harav community. A flagship institution, it has an enrollment of approximately 300 students.
As a junior, he began the year with three straight 100-yard rushing games, before suffering an ankle injury when a lineman fell on his leg during a practice. He lost three games due to this severe sprained ankle and started only three of the last five games of the season, which made his statistics drop to 682 rushing yards and 2 touchdowns. The following season, he was suspended indefinitely by new head coach Paul Hackett for missing team meetings and study hall time. News later surfaced that even though he didn't inform the team, he left to be with his sister who was in a coma with a brain tumor and eventually died.
This led the Chofetz Chaim to send some boys to other yeshivas, which also had better facilities, and keep the enrolment limited. The students of the yeshivas made do with sleeping on the benches in the study hall and were referred to as "perushim" because they separated themselves from worldly luxuries and immersed themselves in study of Torah. From the start meals weren't provided at the yeshiva and students were allocated to various homes in the village where they were given meals. It was when the Chofetz Chaim felt that this set up was not befitting of yeshiva students that he abolished the so-called "teg-essen" and went about arranging a house to house food collection.
In 2010 Digital Study Hall (DSH) began its intervention in the District Institutes for Education and Training (DIETs) of Uttar Pradesh with the aim of using innovative methods of teaching and enhancing the quality of elementary education by making the interaction between a student and a teacher more productive and effective. This intervention was launched through a program called "Capacity building of DIETs for enhancing teacher educators performance through mediation based pedagogy" in collaboration with SCERT Uttar Pradesh and UNICEF India. DIET Raebareli was one of the 12 DIETs initially covered under this intervention and was provided with the DVDs of DSH content i.e. videos illustrating various innovative ways of teaching children and getting their full attention.
Galleried apartments at the second and third floor levels surrounded this grand open space, recessed behind a two-story Tuscan order colonnade. The large skylight above was suspended from 42-foot-span riveted Howe type steel trusses supported by steel columns above the top of the I beams just above the main ceiling. This trusswork also supports the gabled skylight above visible on the building's exterior. Academic Hall originally included 110 individual sleeping rooms of a small size (approximately 8’ X 12’), 12 suites of faculty apartments, 3 large laboratories, a photographic darkroom, a study hall, a hospital, a carpentry shop, a drafting room, a large dining room and a huge kitchen.
Biology classroom The daily schedule is from 7:30 AM to 2:29 PM and consists of seven 51-minute periods with four minutes between each class and a 30-minute lunch period. Students who have lunch option are permitted to leave the campus during their lunch period and upperclassmen who have a study hall during their final period may leave early. The school year is divided into four 9-week grading periods which form two 18-week semesters. The first semester generally begins in mid-August and concludes in December while the second semester begins in early January and finishes in late May. State graduation requirements for the class of 2014 and beyond include 21.5 total credits.

Currently, it consists of a mesivta (high school), beis medrash (undergraduate) program, as well as a kollel (post-graduate) division for its married students. The beis medrash program is divided into two groups: a post-high school constituency which consists of primarily first-, second-, and third-year students (followed by a common tradition for students to spend a year or more of study at yeshivas in Israel), and a senior group which consists mainly of students who have completed their study in Israel and who act as mentors for younger students.
George and Harold assume Melvin put the real mouse in earlier, but they promise not to sabotage it, as long as he doesn't report them and eventually promises. Because of George and Harold's pranks, the convention has to be called off again, and Melvin breaks George and Harold's promise and tattles on them after Mr. Krupp is left confused as he knows that he had thought he put George and Harold in study hall. An infuriated Mr. Krupp throws them in detention for the rest of the school year, threatening them with suspension if they leave the classroom once for any reason. George and Harold get assigned writing lines for two hours after school.
A typical classroom Ground floor lobby La Casita Cafeteria The building has nine floors with classrooms of different sizes: lecture rooms with the capacity to hold 120 students, regular classrooms that can hold at most 45 students, and small classrooms for 25 students. The Undergraduate Admissions Office was transferred from the St. La Salle Hall in July 2006 and is now located on the ground floor of the Gonzalez Hall. The extension of the University Library can be found on the second floor, and parking for 120 cars on the third to sixth floors. A cafeteria is also located on the sixth floor, a chapel on the 14th floor, and a study hall on the 15th floor.
Although initial concerns regarding adjustment run rampant, several intermediary steps are taken to ensure a smooth transition from a secondary school setting to university life. EEPsters on campus share a common abode in the affectionately dubbed Lounge, or 'EEP room', which, for the initial years, serves as a social hive in which EEPsters can work, socialize, or merely relax. This, in addition to the relatively small and exclusive nature of the program, results in a close-knit consequence of 'everybody-knowing-everybody' and certainly never a paucity of human interaction—or dull moments. Additional preparatory steps have been taken in recent years, including the addition of a Study Hall to freshmen curricula.
The goal of the game is to build up both your stats and your relationship with your club-mates so that you can become close friends with one, ask them to go to Prom with you, and face down Chad, your rival, at last. The game divides the player's attributes into three - Cool, Nice, Tough - and various decisions throughout the game, such as on the weekends or in classes, influences this rating. While the player is never told the level of attributes precisely, they can ask the mysterious lunch server, the Collector, to give them a relative understanding of how high each one is. There are six clubs to choose from divided between AM clubs - Sports, Study Hall, and Music - and PM clubs - Art, Drama, and Magic.
At three stories, the main building housed the central dining room, a kitchen, a study hall, a library, a reading room, a small museum, and a Lutheran church in which students and staff worshipped. Johann Ludwig Schneller brought in skilled Arab laborers from Bethlehem and Beit Jala to construct a total of eight buildings, which were constructed in stages and completed in the early 20th century. In 1997, a joint excavation by the Antiquities and Monuments Office and the Institute of Archaeology of the Chinese Academy of Social Sciences found complete Neolithic human skeletal remains in tombs at the Tung Wan Tsai North site. 20 tombs were found spanning from the late Neolithic to the early Bronze Age. The prehistoric island had late neolithic inhabitants as proved by recent excavations.
