In 1988, Stringfellow and Auer began playing together as The Posies and self-released their first album, Failure, which included some of the earlier material they'd written separately. Stringfellow was born in Hollywood, California. His father, a television executive, relocated the family frequently as his career developed, and Stringfellow went to elementary schools in New York, Chicago, and Detroit. After his parents divorced, in 1978, he moved to Bellingham, Washington. In high school, Stringfellow, who had learned to play piano at nine and guitar at 11, met Jon Auer, with whom he would later form The Posies.

Back in Denmark, she formed the all-female country band Darleens, and they recorded three albums for Sony Records. The band also recruited Dan Cohen, a top notch studio musician who has played and recorded with many musicians, including members of the Gigolo Aunts, Happy Stars, The Posies, The Rembrandts, and Dogs Eye View, to become the band's permanent bassist despite his background primarily as a guitarist. The band added bassist James Baker in 2008, allowing Cohen to become the group's primary guitarist. Johnny Dwinell left the group shortly after Baker joined.

Natalie D-Napoleon's emergence upon the Western Australian music scene came via fronting the alternative pop band Bloom. In 1997 Bloom won the Western Australian Music Industry Award for Most Promising New Act. Following the demise of Bloom, D-Napoleon, along with Month of Sunday's guitarist Grant Ferstat, formed an alternative country ensemble Flavour of the Month. The Chapel itself contains a domed sanctuary, a nave with three bays and a north and south transept. The sanctuary is a domed rotunda with eight detached and fluted columns and a frieze depicting features such as vine leaves, urns and posies. The Orange Humble Band is an alternative rock band formed in early 1995, by Darryl Mather (ex-The Lime Spiders, The Someloves) on guitar. He was joined by Anthony Bautovich (Lonely Hearts), Mitch Easter (an American indie producer- manager) on vocals, and Ken Stringfellow (The Posies) on lead vocals. The group issued two albums, Assorted Creams (1997) and Humblin' (Across America) (2001) before disbanding later that year. They reformed in March 2012 and issued a third album, Depressing Beauty, in May 2015.

Down with Wilco is the fifth album by American rock band The Minus 5. Produced by Scott McCaughey and Jeff Tweedy, it is a collaboration between McCaughey and Wilco, recorded at SOMA Studios Chicago in September and December 2001. Released on Yep Roc in 2003, it also features contributions from Peter Buck of R.E.M., Ken Stringfellow of The Posies, Sean O'Hagan of The High Llamas, with Jessy Greene providing strings. The double-vinyl version adds five songs not included on the CD.

In Space is the fourth and final studio album by American rock group Big Star, released in 2005. It was the first new studio recording by the band since Third/Sister Lovers, which was recorded in 1974. The album featured original Big Star members Alex Chilton and Jody Stephens, with two more recent recruits, Jon Auer and Ken Stringfellow. Auer and Stringfellow had been members of The Posies before joining Big Star for sporadic live performances and tours since 1993.

The band's second album, Radio Insomnia (2005) was co- produced by Kurki, Ken Coomer and Charlie Brocco. Johnstone describes the song as being about feeling trapped in a relationship. According to Allmusic's reviewer, Nitsuh Abebe, '"Ken Carter" sounds like a more rocked-out version of the Posies.' The South Florida Sun-Sentinel describes the beginning of "Ken Carter" as being nothing but annoying whining, although the addition of a great riff in the chorus gives it the high intensity that it needs. Other reviewers describe the song as starting out with a very watery sounding intro followed by a loud distorted chorus.

Due to this, they found they had gotten a much clearer idea of which songs they would ultimately polish to possibly make the album. Simpson noted that the band had much more time to write and record this time, a luxury they had not enjoyed previously. Inspiration for writing came from the band's record collections, musical tastes and influences. The band, fans of The Posies, met Ken Stringfellow at a couple of festivals they attended, and asked him if he wanted to get involved.

And this they have done right up to this day. Most of the ancient features of the Bower still survive – the Court of Arraye is held in the Guildhall, when the Mayor inspects the “men-at-arms” the procession through the streets includes the Morris Dancers and military bands, and the place of the posies has been taken by the tableaux mounted on lorries and trailers. Gaining a local cult following in Seattle, he was brought to the attention of Sub Pop Records by Sunny Day Real Estate singer Jeremy Enigk. After two 7-inch releases (Motorbike and Trampoline) Sub Pop issued his first full album, Waters Ave S. in 1997. Live performances feature Belle performing vocals, violin, electric guitar, keyboards, bass, drum machine, samplers and programming by looping herself live. During a second tour with The Album Leaf and Sea Wolf, Belle also performed with The Album Leaf for their entire set. Belle's second album, The Crush, released in September 2011. It includes collaborations with Mr. Lif, Jon Auer of The Posies, and Trespassers William lead vocalist Anna-Lynne Williams, all of whom Belle has performed with on stage during their respective live performances.

Frosting on the Beater is the third album by American rock band The Posies, released in 1993. It featured a heavier, more intense sound than the band's prior works, in part due to production duties being handled by Don Fleming. "Dream All Day", "Solar Sister" and "Definite Door" were released as singles, with the first two getting moderate airplay and the third being the band's only single to break the UK top 75. Frosting on the Beater was the last album original drummer Mike Musburger appeared on.

Chilton reformed Big Star in 1993 with a lineup that included two members of the Posies, Jon Auer and Ken Stringfellow. From then on, he added to his schedule concerts and recordings with the new version of Big Star. The final Big Star studio album, entitled In Space, with songs penned by the then-current lineup, was released by Rykodisc on September 27, 2005. Big Star's October 29, 1994, performance, their only known show to be professionally filmed in its entirety, was released in November 2014 by Omnivore Recordings as Live in Memphis.

Primarily employed as a professor, Hebert continues to perform as a professional musician in various genres, and teaches a course in songwriting. A jazz trumpeter and classical bass baritone singer, in 2013-2015 he had occasional work as a professional chorus member (Edvard Grieg Kor) with the Bergen Philharmonic Orchestra, Bergen National Opera, and Berlin Philharmonic.(McCollum and Hebert, 2014, p.409) In the 1990s, Hebert performed as singer-songwriter with Portland, Oregon-based alternative rock band Post Impression, which shared stages with The Posies, Heatmiser and Everclear.

Despite the addition of former Posies bassist Joe Skyward prior to the release of How It Feels to Be Something On, the band re-grouped as a three-piece with Enigk handling bass. Hoerner found it easier to write material as a trio, which he compared to the group's early days of them three writing material for their debut Diary (1994). Lou Giordano visited the group in Seattle, Washington and wrote material through jam sessions for a month. The band had around 30 songs before going into pre- production.

During his early career, Squires formed or joined a number of groups but with little or no releases. One of his first musical ventures was a jam band named Eat the Feeling, where he played bass; they recorded a CD in 1993 which was released in 1994. Next was the Minutemen influenced group, Compass, where they recorded a few demos, and Suttree, a Country/pop influenced group. Squires and Darius Minwalla, future drummer for The Posies, attempted to put a band together, recording demos in the process, however they eventually moved on to other projects.

The song was included on a new Masters' Best of album, as well as being issued as a single. In 1996 they moved to Mushroom Records for the release of their next album, Blue Cave. The band then undertook a national tour of Australian tour with US outfit The Posies and local band Drop City. Touring commitments were curtailed when Kingsmill severed tendons and nerves in his arm as a result of an onstage accident. Derrick Crass (born August 6, 1960) was an Olympic weightlifter for the United States. In his early years he lifted under Coach and Mentor Ted Frank at the Belleville Weightlifting Club (IL) who laid the foundation for all future lifting achievements. In his early twenties he was selected to train at the Colorado Springs Training Facility and from then on was coached by Harvey Newton and Jim Schmitz. In 1996, he had the honor of gracing the cover of a CD, entitled Amazing Disgrace, by the rock band The Posies.

His work is highly unconventional and usually on a large scale, using a wide range of materials, three-dimensional objects and organic substances such as eggshell, earth and straw. In 1962, he illustrated a book of poetry entitled Posies by Joan Salvat-Papasseit for the Ariel Editorial. He won many accolades for his work throughout the 1970s and 80s, including Spain's National Award for Plastic Arts in 1982. In 1994, a museum foundation dedicated to his art was inaugurated in Agramunt, his mother's birthplace to which he always felt a special attachment.

"Suddenly Mary" is a song by the American alternative rock band The Posies, released as the second single released from its major label debut album Dear 23 in 1991. The single was also available as a promo CD with exactly the same title, only with the word "Promotional" printed on it in orange ink. (The photo here is of the US promo single.) The Capillaries included many Seattle musicians from various bands at one time or another, including Aaron Huffman and Rob Knop of Harvey Danger, Eric Corson of the Long Winters, and Jon Auer of the Posies. Southworth also briefly played second guitar in Harvey Danger and performed as the guitarist in Harvey Danger singer Sean Nelson's band Sean Nelson and His Mortal Enemies. Southworth also appears on albums by Jon Auer ("The Year of Our Demise") and Ian Moore ("Luminaria"). "Lady Friend" has been covered by Little John, on their 1971 album, Little John, and by the Flamin' Groovies, on their 1979 album, Jumpin' in the Night. The song was also covered by Static on the 1989 Byrds' tribute album, Time Between – A Tribute to The Byrds. In 2001, the Posies released a version of the song as part of their Nice Cheekbones and a Ph.D EP. In addition, Kenny Howes has also recorded a version of the song as the title track of his 2004 album, Lady Friend. Bill Plummer and the Cosmic Brotherhood also covered the song on their 1968 self titled album.

Light FM, The Pulsars, Butterfly Child, Kissing Cousins, and The Happy Stars (featuring Brian Young of Fountains of Wayne and Joe Skyward of the Posies) also performed. Corgan also donated two autographed instruments for auction including, Jimmy Chamberlin's drum kit from The Smashing Pumpkins debut record Gish, as well as a bass used at the very first Smashing Pumpkins show. Nicole Fiorentino later joined The Smashing Pumpkins in 2010. Duritz kept humming guitar parts, and Bryson kept coming up with vocal melodies; the two finalized the song at 4 am and recorded a rough version of it on the hotel room's answering machine. Although it was a favorite of the band's, it did not fit with the musical stylings of August and Everything After because it was not "mopey enough", so it was left off. The main part of the title is a reference to the Philip Glass opera Einstein on the Beach, whereas the subtitle is a reference to John Lennon. During a self-produced and self- financed recording sessions, The Posies recorded "Open Every Window".

The book includes a description and illustration of a new fern species, now known as Woodsia alpina (Bolton) Gray. At this time, Bolton was commissioned by the wealthy Margaret Bentinck, Duchess of Portland (1715–1785) to illustrate plants in her museum collection. James Bolton's additional illustrations of native and exotic flowering plants were never published. A number of his original watercolours, however, are extant, including Fifty Flowers Drawn from Nature at Halifax (1785–1787) at the Natural History Museum, an album from 1794 called "Twelve Posies Gathered in the Fields" held at Liverpool Museum, and a collection of botanical paintings in the Lindley Library at the Royal Horticultural Society.

This Busy Monster formed in 1992, taking their name from a poem written by E. E. Cummings, releasing their first tape, Ginger, in early 1992, before they had officially formed the band. With the release of Dark Hands in April 1993, the group was officially formed and began playing local shows. They performed numerous shows at local Seattle venues, playing with other local bands such as Sick and Wrong and The Thingmakers, and opening for the indie band Treepeople. In 1994, the band released two singles, "Belated" in April with the help of Egg Studios and members of the band Posies, and "Swing Dream" was released in September.

In "11:11", "Put away your posies, I'm gonna have a drink before we ring around the rosies" refers to the nursery rhyme "Ring Around the Rosie", which is commonly said to be about the black plague. The last verse, which mentions "something burning" in Manhattan, alludes to the September 11 attacks and the collapse of the World Trade Center towers. "Dinner at Eight" was written about a disagreement Wainwright and his father had at a photo shoot for Rolling Stone. The song contains an allusion to the Biblical story of David and Goliath with the phrase "I'm gonna take you down with one little stone".

In 1997, Blind Zero recorded Redcoast, the second album of originals produced by Michael Vail Blum (an American producer who had worked with Suicidal Tendencies, Madonna, Roxy Music, 3T, Tura Satana, Goo Goo Dolls, and Jewel). Redcoast was produced at Sony Music/New York studios by Grammy Award winner Mark Wilder. In 1998, they recorded with Mário Caldato the song "The Wire", and spent 1999 working on their third album, One Silent Accident, which was released in 2000 and produced by Don Fleming (Sonic Youth, Hole, Posies, Screaming Trees, Teenage Fan Club, Gumball, and Alice Cooper).

Their follow-up single, Whatever You Want From Life, was used in a Heineken commercial, and was also featured in the video game 2006 FIFA World Cup. The years after the release of their maiden album would be marked by tours and performances at the many festivals in the Netherlands; their album also won several awards. Voicst embarked on a UK and European tour, during which they supported The Bravery, The Presidents of the United States of America, Juliette and The Licks, The Posies, and others. A remastered version of 11-11 was released in the United States in 2005, followed by Australia in 2006 and Japan in 2007.

Sky Cries Mary is an American psychedelic rock/trance musical group from Seattle, Washington, formed in the late 1980s by Roderick Wolgamott and Ben Ireland. Early band influences included European industrial music bands such as Einstürzende Neubauten, Coil, and Test Department, and 1970s glam/punk artists including Lou Reed, Iggy Pop, and David Bowie. Notable band alumni include Jon Auer and Ken Stringfellow of The Posies, vocalist Anisa Romero, Michael Cozzi of Shriekback, Jon ‘Juano’ Davison (later of Yes and Glass Hammer), and Gordon Raphael (producer for The Strokes). In 2016, founding members Wolgamott and Ireland premiered a new line up including Ron Nine (Love Battery) on guitar, and Kurt Danielson (TAD) on bass.

The species resides almost exclusively in the somewhat artificial environments that are produced as a result of human inhabitancy, and not in wild habitats, for example natural forest. The distinctively messy web of B. longinqua can be found in many urban places, such as nooks and crannies on window frames and walls, in rubbish bins, under furniture, on car bodies and mirrors, trees bases and benches in urban parks, and artificial posies in cemeteries. Badumna longinqua have also been found in cemeteries in artificial flowers, which therefore suggest that they are very suitable to refuge. The species primarily are found living in tree trunks, rock walls, retreats, leaves, and tangled webbing in green shrubs.

Stringfellow with Marky Ramone, 2016 Although the Posies were Stringfellow's main project during much of the 1980s and 1990s, he also performed and recorded with Sky Cries Mary (a band he founded with Auer in 1989), Lagwagon, Saltine, White Flag, and The Minus Five. Stringfellow co- wrote and recorded several songs with Scott Miller's band The Loud Family in the mid-1990s, appearing as a guest guitarist and vocalist on their albums The Tape of Only Linda (1994) and Interbabe Concern (1996). He would later produce and perform on Miller's posthumous Game Theory album Supercalifragile (2016). In 2003, Stringfellow and Auer released Private Sides, a six-song split EP on Arena Rock Recording Co./Rykodisc.

This song also featured on the various artists compilation album compiled by The Flaming Lips, Late Night Tales: The Flaming Lips. "I Am the Cosmos" has been played live by Big Star, Beck, The Posies, Gigolo Aunts, The Jayhawks, and The Drams, and has also been covered by This Mortal Coil, together with a version of "You and Your Sister". Scarlett Johansson and Pete Yorn recorded "I Am the Cosmos" for their 2009 album Break Up. "I Am the Cosmos" is mentioned in the song "Paradise" on Richard Ashcroft's 2002 album Human Conditions.

Three live audio versions and two live video versions of "Philosophy" have been released, as has a radio edit of the album cut for a commercial single. Many live music venues in Seattle, San Francisco, and New York organized shows to benefit Home Alive, where there would be music and spoken word performances. These performances were put on by a variety of people including bands, such as The Posies, and founders of Home Alive, such as Christien Storm, who performed spoken word, Valerie Agnew, who performed with her band 7 Year Bitch, and Gretta Harley, who performed with her band Maxi Bad. The first show took place at Seattle venue, RKCNDY (also known as Rock Candy). During these shows organizers and volunteers would talk about Home Alive and there would be tables with information about Home Alive, as well.

That year TvB also recorded music for the movie "This Aint California" a film about German skateboarders behind the Berlin wall in the 1980s, the French film "Des Morceaux de Moi" (release date February 13, 2013), and the French film "Cover us" in which a ghost sings the Troy Von Balthazar song "Wings" to a boy who discovers him. In 2013 he released his 2nd book "This poem does not please her". In 2015 Troy Von Balthazar (TvB) teamed up with Jason Lytle (Grandaddy), Kenneth Stringfellow (The Posies, R.E.M., Mercury Rev) and 11 chamber orchestra musicians to perform a tribute to Elliott Smith. "The Color Bar Experience" plays Elliott Smiths full Figure 8 album with the orchestra and their voices.

In 1982 the Seattle Chamber Music Society was formed for the purposes of presenting a summer festival of chamber music. The organization has since expanded to include a winter festival and regularly includes internationally recognized artists such as Cynthia Phelps and James Ehnes on their artist roster. The popular music scene at the time included such teen-pop bands as the Allies (whose song "Emma Peel" received a good deal of local play, but never broke out nationally) and the Heaters (later "the Heats"). That same era saw the more sophisticated pop of the short-lived Visible Targets and the still- performing Young Fresh Fellows and The Posies; the pop-punk of The Fastbacks; and the outright punk of the Fartz (later Ten Minute Warning).

Ken Stringfellow, a member of The Posies and Big Star, first came together with SALT's other founding members at Abbey Road Studios in London, during July 2015 recording sessions for Supercalifragile, the final album by Game Theory. Stringfellow was producing the posthumous album after the 2013 death of Scott Miller, who had founded Game Theory in the 1980s and The Loud Family in the 1990s. Miller had been a friend and musical collaborator with all three founding members of SALT, who had never previously met one another. Stéphane Schück, a Paris-based physician specializing in public health and epidemiology, had co-written four of Supercalifragiles songs with Miller, and Miller had produced a demo recording by Schück's onetime band, Swan Plastic Swan.

Later Franklin had regular roles in several television series, including Crossroads, in which she played Myrtle Cavendish (later Harvey); the short-lived soap Castle Haven; the British sitcom George and Mildred as Mildred's mother, Mrs Tremble, and Rising Damp as Rigsby's Aunt Maud and she appeared in The Fenn Street Gang (Episode "A Fair Swap") as Aunt Harriet (the brides mother). She was also a regular supporting figure on television dramas such as Dixon of Dock Green and Z-Cars. Flavour of the Month subsequently supported Ken Stringfellow of The Posies on one of his first solo tours of Australia. The band toured nationally in Australia as well undertaking tours of the United States and Europe. During this period D-Napoleon also contributed backing vocals to several independent recordings including Road to Rome by DM3, which was one of Dom Mariani's first solo albums after the hibernation of The Stems and former Stonemason's frontman, Joe Algeri's, solo debut 10 000 Sunny Days, along with singing with alternative-country band, The Jayco Brothers, in the live arena. After the demise of Flavour in the Month in 2005, D-Napoleon started performing solo and in November 2007 released her debut solo recording, a five-track EP titled "After The Flood".

In 1964, the company was acquired by S. Pearson and Son and became part of the Allied English Potteries Group, later to be joined by Royal Doulton. In 2000, Hugh Gibson, a former director of Royal Doulton and a member of the Pearson family, led a buy-out, making Royal Crown Derby once again an independent and privately owned concern, which at present (2006) employs about 300 people at the Osmaston Road works. Present product lines include paperweights, introduced in 1981 and immensely popular. Royal Crown Derby also continue to produce patterns in the Imari style, distinguished for its rich colours and intricate gilding, including the dinnerware ranges Old Imari, Traditional Imari, Red Aves, Blue Mikado and Derby Posies (designed by Thomas Amos Reed, Art Director until he retired in 1926), and Olde Avesbury.

A long period of post- production and mastering attempts followed, taking place in Brisbane, Winnipeg, Toronto, Los Angeles and Nashville. Through this time, the work in progress reportedly generated positive reviews and interest from United States and UK record labels, although McSweeney still appeared determined to release their LP independently. While in the United States, McSweeney also played several solo shows and teamed up again with Captain Paul Watson to perform at Worldfest 2009. 2011 saw the band back on the road with a 20-date tour in the US which included shows with Alien Ant Farm, Chad Smith (RHCP) and his new band, a main stage appearance at SubZero Festival in San Jose, being hand picked by The Posies for their Los Angeles show in July and support for German industrial act Atari Teenage Riot.

Reveal shared the "lugubrious pace" of Up, and featured drumming by Joey Waronker, as well as contributions by Scott McCaughey (a co-founder of the band the Minus 5 with Buck), and Ken Stringfellow (founder of the Posies). Global sales of the album were over four million, but in the United States Reveal sold about the same number of copies as Up. The album was led by the single "Imitation of Life", which reached number six in the UK. Writing for Rock's Backpages, The Rev. In 2009, the band released their fourth studio album Nikadjekraj (Neveristheend), released by B92, featuring Boris Mladenović as the new bass guitarist and album co-producer with Saša Janković. Part of the material, recorded and mixed at the Belgrade Digimedia studio and Vrbas Kombinat Record studio, featured the tracks from Kolarević's side project Izgubljeni Vikend (The Lost Weekend). The album featured guest appearances by percussionist Feđa Frenklin on the track "No, No", Dušan Kuzmanović who did drums on the track "Zakopavam" ("I Am Burying"), and Dušan Ševarlić who played bass on "Pomozi sebi" ("Help Yourself"). Special guest appearance featured the American musician Ken Stringfellow, best known for his work with The Posies, R.E.M. and the re-formed Big Star, who played electric piano, synthesizer and did electric percussion and vocals on most of the album tracks.

Max Collins (bass, lead vocals), Jon Siebels (guitar, backing vocals), and Nick Meyers (drums) formed the band formed in 1995 in La Crescenta, California first as Yakoo, then Eleventeen; the name Eve 6 was only adopted later. [1] The band issued the self-titled Eve 6 in 1998, attaining platinum success with hit singles “Inside Out” and “Leech,” the former capturing the #1 spot on the Modern Rock charts and crossing over successfully to pop/Top 40 radio. More widespread recognition came with gold- selling sophomore effort Horrorscope (2000), which spawned radio gems “Promise,” “On the Roof Again” and Top 40 smash “Here's to the Night”. From mid-2004 until May 2005, Collins performed in a band under the name Brotherhood of Lost Dogs with the drummer from Fountains of Wayne, Brian Young, and bassist Joe "Bass" Howard formerly of The Posies.

Christopher Branford Bell (January 12, 1951December 27, 1978) was an American musician, guitarist, singer, and songwriter. Along with Alex Chilton, he led the power pop band Big Star through its first album #1 Record (1972). He also pursued a solo career throughout the mid-1970s, resulting in the posthumous I Am the Cosmos LP. AllMusic Guide praised Bell as "one of the unsung heroes of American pop music" and noted his lasting impression, saying: "Despite a life marked by tragedy and a career crippled by commercial indifference, the singer/songwriter's slim body of recorded work proved massively influential on the generations of indie rockers who emerged in his wake." Bell's catalog of proto-alternative rock has inspired the likes of Beck, R.E.M., Teenage Fanclub, Pixies, Primal Scream, Afghan Whigs, Pete Yorn, Wilco, The Posies, and The Replacements, all of whom have covered his music or expressed their admiration for Big Star in the press.

After a period in New York City, during which Chilton worked on his guitar technique and singing style (some of which was believed to have been influenced by a chance meeting with Roger McGuinn at a friend's apartment in New York where Chilton was impressed with McGuinn's singing and playing), Chilton returned to Memphis in 1971 and co-founded the power pop group Big Star, with Chris Bell, recording at engineer John Fry's Ardent Studios. Chilton and Bell co-wrote "In the Street" for Big Star's first album #1 Record, a track later covered by Cheap Trick and used as the theme song of That '70s Show. The group's recordings met with little commercial success but established Chilton's reputation as a rock singer and songwriter; later alternative music bands like R.E.M. and the Posies would praise the group as a major influence. During this period he also occasionally recorded with Rosebrough as a group they called the Dolby Fuckers; some of their studio experimentation was included on Big Star's album Radio City, including the recording of "Mod Lang".

Of the three books that Peters published before his death (of starvation)Muddiman, p. 97. at the age of forty-two, his Posies out of Rings: And Other Conceits (1896) is most notable here: in it, four poems and an "Epilogue" for the aforementioned Dowson play are devoted to Pierrot. (From the mouth of Pierrot loquitur: "Although this pantomime of life is passing fine,/Who would be happy must not marry Columbine".) Another pocket of North-American sympathy with the Decadence--one manifestation of what the Latin world called modernismo--could be found in the progressive literary scene of Mexico, its parent country, Spain, having been long conversant with the commedia dell'arte. In 1897, Bernardo Couto Castillo, another Decadent who, at the age of twenty-two, died even more tragically young than Peters, embarked on a series of Pierrot-themed short stories--"Pierrot Enamored of Glory" (1897), "Pierrot and His Cats" (1898), "The Nuptials of Pierrot" (1899), "Pierrot's Gesture" (1899), "The Caprices of Pierrot" (1900)--culminating, after the turn of the century (and in the year of Couto's death), with "Pierrot-Gravedigger" (1901).

During its initial 16-year run, the Croc hosted numerous well-known acts including Mudhoney, Tad, Nirvana, Pearl Jam, Sunny Day Real Estate, Everclear, Mad Season, Green Day, The Strokes, Joanna Newsom, Cheap Trick, Indigo Girls, Robyn Hitchcock, Porcupine Tree, Glenn Tilbrook, Rhonda Vincent, Death Cab for Cutie, Yoko Ono, Ann Wilson, Sleater-Kinney, R.E.M., Soft Boys, Built to Spill, Neutral Milk Hotel, Dinosaur Jr., Beastie Boys, Corinne Bailey Rae, Rachael Yamagata, Kevn Kinney of Drivin N Cryin, Ventures, Chris Knox, The Presidents of the United States of America, and Harvey Danger, who chose the Cafe for their final performance. Mad Season played their first concert at the Crocodile Cafe on October 12, 1994 under the name The Gacy Bunch. Ostensibly a bluegrass band, The Dixie Bee-Liners played a wide variety of acoustic music, liberally cherry-picking influence from traditional bluegrass, newgrass, old-time string band music, as well as west-coast country, country rock, 60's British invasion, surf music, Celtic, rhythm & blues, punk, ska, and English folk-rock bands. In mid-2012 the band revealed in an interview with Bluegrass Today that they were evolving their sound, and expanding their lineup to include drums and electric instrumentation, but the project was never completed, and they split at the end of the year. Buddy Woodward and Brandi Hart typically wrote all of the band's material—with Woodward also taking the role of arranger and producer—though they occasionally co-wrote with various band members, as well as Blue Highway's Tim Stafford, Jon Weisberger, and Ken Stringfellow of the American alternative rock band The Posies. In addition to standardized bluegrass instrumentation, the band were known to incorporate alternate guitar tunings, claw-hammer banjo, dulcimer, bouzouki, dobro, Dojo, harmonica, chanter, 12-string guitar, drums, electric guitar, pedal steel guitar, cello, Mellotron, harpsichord, and other keyboard instruments as inspiration struck them.

Rebel Star was formed in 2006 by Milan Glavaški, a former Popcycle and Eva Braun member, whom, having moved to Hungary, decided to resume his musical career. During the Summer 2006, at the Vrbas studio Kombinat Record, owned by the Veliki Prezir members Vladimir Kolarić "Kole" and Robert Telčer, with a lineup of musicians from which only the Hungarian drummer Attila Prikler and the Bečej bands Mizu and Superstudio guitarist Boris Smoje remained in the band, Glavaški recorded a promotional EP. The following year, the three were joined by Glavaški former bandmates from Popcycle, Ljubomir Rajić (keyboards) and Goran Obradović "Garwood Pickjon" (bass guitar, harmonica). The band had their debut live appearance on March 25 of the same year at the Bečej club Scena, performing both as an opening act for Ken Stringfellow as well as being Stringfellow's backing band during the performance of his solo material and the songs he recorded with Big Star and The Posies.
