The forewings are dull whitish covered by general dark fuscous irroration (speckling) and some inconspicuous ocherous longitudinal streaks. There is an ocherous streak within the costa from the base to nearly halfway. There is also an ocherous streak in the plication to the plical stigma at one-third. The stigmata are usually distinct as blackish dots, with the first discal slightly beyond the plical and the second discal at about two-thirds, both more or less associated with ocherous.

On the fasciole and base these are more or less obscured by spiral impressed lines with much wider interspaces, which appear feeble and as if obsolete where not eroded. The siphonal canal is short and straight. The outer lip is simple with the sulcus near the suture, rather wide and deep when complete. Unlike these conventional techniques, minimally-invasive strabismus surgery is done using an operation microscope and usually under general anaesthesia. Other Percutaneous procedures beside balloon valvuloplasty for MS have been looked into. Percutaneous Leaflet Plication (Edge-to-Edge Leaflet Repair) is being explored as a way to increase the opening of the mitral valve by clamping down mitral leaflets. The clamps are delivered to the mitral through a catheter as with the balloon, and then clamped onto the mitral valve. Of the patients that received this treatment, 74% patients achieved surgical success, and at 1-year, 68% were saved from dying, 90% from having to have surgery or dying from the lack thereof, a 76.3% prognosis at three years.

The basic types of the former are represented by the sills of epidiorite and hornblende gneiss in Glen Muick and Glen Callater, which have been permeated by granite and pegmatite in veins and lenticles, often foliated. The later granites subsequent to the plication of the schists have a wide distribution on the Ben Macdhui and Ben Avon range, and on Lochnagar; they stretch eastwards from Ballater by Tarland to Aberdeen and north to Bennachie.
