In 2011, Guernsey had a new clubhouse constructed which was also visited by The Princess Royal during her visit to Guernsey in November.

"The Best Laid Game Plans". The Sarasota Herald-Tribune. 4 September 1977 The 2008 NFL Network program "10 Worst Teams of All Time" (produced prior to the Lions' winless season) recognized the 1976 Buccaneers as the worst NFL team ever, although it is disputed whether their record was not deceptive, as they were decimated by injuries and were a play away from victory several times. There is some opinion that the 1976 team was not even the worst in Buccaneers history, with the 2–14 1986 squad deserving of that distinction.

The play-offs between Eliteserien and 1. divisjon have been held every year since 1972 with exceptions in 1994 and 2011. They take place for the two divisions following the conclusion of the regular season and are contested by the fourteenth-placed club in Eliteserien and the four clubs finishing below the automatic promotion places in the 1. divisjon. The fixtures are determined by final league position – the first round will be played 5th v 6th, and the winner will advance to play away to 4th in the second round.

Between 1970 and 1974 he was part of successful jazz-rock fusion act CCS (Collective Consciousness Society) Band, and played on recording sessions for Rod Stewart. In the 1970s he was in the house band for the children's TV show Play Away. During the 1980s and early 90s, he was with the American all star group the Great Guitars featuring Herb Ellis, Charlie Byrd and Barney Kessel which also sometimes featured British player, Martin Taylor. He went on to play in Kessel's trio with Malcolm Mortimore, with whom he later joined Canadian pianist, Oliver Jones.

The presenters would frequently invite the younger viewers to participate at home, usually by means of the prompt, 'Can you do that?' They normally signed off at the end of each episode by saying, "Time for us to go now, but only until tomorrow, so goodbye until tomorrow" – or, at the end of a week, "Goodbye, until it's our turn to be here again". (The latter phrase stemmed from the fact that the presenters changed from one week to the next). From 1971 to 1984, Play School also had a sister programme called Play Away.

Perhaps the most recognized mákina single in the United States is "Streamline" by Newton, which was popularized by a 2006 Pepsi commercial starring Jimmy Fallon. From approximately 1999 to 2006 the genre was the staple of the rave scene in North East England and Scotland. Following the closures of the most prominent venues – in particular the New Monkey nightclub – its popularity faded in those areas and was largely replaced with UK Bounce (also known as "Donk" or "Scouse House"). Despite this it still retains a strong cultural legacy; regularly heard blasting from coaches when Newcastle United and Sunderland AFC play away matches.

The matches form part of the regular season fixtures, with one team nominated as the home side for each match. Since 2008 (2016 being an exception) and the inception of The Big Game, Harlequins only compete in the double header as an away side in order to reduce the number of home games they play away from the Stoop. From 2015 and following Wasps' relocation to Coventry, the direction of the series changed. Two London teams (normally London Irish and Saracens) acted as the hosts, with the away teams being any of the other 10 Premiership Rugby teams.

This may be historically linked to the split between Northern teams and the rest of the rugby fraternity over 'broken time payments', i.e. professionalism. This split led to the development of the separate sport of rugby league. The amateur ethos made it difficult for players who could not afford to take time off work to play away games or to go on tour - an integral part of the rugby tradition. Rugby union in many parts of England is associated with fee-paying independent schools such as Stonyhurst College or Sedbergh School who have historically provided many of the national players.

Matías Delgado, Breel Embolo, Fabian Frei and Shkëlzen Gashi scored the goals, in that order, as Basel won 4–0 to proceed into the second round. In the away tie, on 20 September, they also won 4–0 against Winterthur, the first goal being scored by Mohamed Elneny and the other three from Embolo. The third round tie on 29 October saw Basel play away against Wohlen, who were then the Swiss Challenge League leaders. The small Stadion Niedermatten was sold out with over 4,000 fans present, as Yoichiro Kakitani, Giovanni Sio and again Embolo scored the goals as Basel won 3–1.

After appointing their new head coach and brief promotion to League B, Bulgaria were drawn in group 4 with Wales, Finland and Ireland. The first match was a near victory against Ireland until a 90th minute injury time equiliser sealed the draw for the Irish. Bulgaria would then play away to Wales nearly holding the hosts leveled until another 90th minute injury time goal would force the 0-1 loss. The problems would continue with another set of narrow losses to Finland and Wales, forcing Bulgaria to miss out on promotion to the top League A.

" Phil Neville, a defender for Manchester United, was told by Ferguson to expect verbal abuse from the spectators during the match because he was blamed for bringing about England's exit from UEFA Euro 2000 after a 3–2 defeat to Romania two months prior. He had already received abuse in a pre-season friendly match against Shrewsbury Town of which Ferguson said, "When you play away from home, you're hardly going to get bouquets of flowers thrown at you. That's not going to change, but I think Phil is capable of handling it. I expect his team-mates to help him through it.

While the first season saw all players under contract, Blizzard does not rule out the potential for players to form trade unions, with Nanzer stating that such a decision would be left to the players. Nanzer further stated that Blizzard planned to have all teams playing at home stadiums for all such games in 2020. Teams would play half their games at this home stadium, and the other half away at others. In their scheduling, Blizzard would arrange for teams to play away games in geographic clusters and through more divisional matchups, as to minimize travel on players.

After the Kosovo War, the citizens & supporters returned to its stadium stands. Although numerously fighting relegation throughout the seasons during the 2000s one thing was for sure, the “Ferki Aliu Stadium” would always be packed to the rafters during every home game. The clubs’ ultras group “Forca” gained a nation wide generalisation during that period due to many opposing teams supporters being the subject of verbal and physical abuse when they would travel and watch their team play in the city of Vushtrri. Due to this the club was constantly fined and deducted points and became one of Kosovos most hated teams and fiercest cities to play away at.

It was also clarified that if Kolkata were to win at least one bid that the new Kolkata side would have to play away from the city for only two seasons. A month later, on 12 June, it was announced that I-League side, Bengaluru, and Tata Steel (for Jamshedpur) had won the bidding for the new teams. On 22 September 2017, the competition announced officially that it would be expanding its season by two months, thus making the league last for five months instead of three. The competition would also go from having matches played daily to being played between Wednesday and Sunday.

The 1955–56 Football League season was Birmingham City Football Club's 53rd in the Football League and their 29th in the First Division, having been promoted as Second Division champions in 1954–55. They finished in a club-record sixth position in the 22-team division. They entered the 1955–56 FA Cup in the third round proper and reached the Final for only the second time, despite being drawn to play away from home in each round, the first time this had occurred. They lost 3–1 to Manchester City in a match remembered for City's goalkeeper Bert Trautmann playing the last 25 minutes with a broken neck.

In Australia the series aired on ABC at 4:30 after the Australian version of Play School. Presenters during the 13-year run included familiar Play School presenters such as Brian Cant, Toni Arthur, Derek Griffiths, Lionel Morton, Chloe Ashcroft, Floella Benjamin, Johnny Ball, Carol Chell and Julie Stevens, as well as lesser known presenters including Janine Sharp, Matthew Devitt and Kim Goodey. Play Away also played host to future stars such as Jeremy Irons, Julie Covington, Anita Dobson, Tony Robinson and Alex Norton. According to the Kaleidoscope Children's Guide and the Lost Shows website, much of this series is no longer in the archives.

On February 10, 2014, it was announced that the Ottawa Redblacks would play their "home" pre-season game at Mosaic Stadium at Taylor Field against the Roughriders on June 14, 2014. Ottawa was the home side of the field and the team was introduced as the home team. It was further announced that the Redblacks would have a bye for the first week of the regular season and then play away games at Edmonton and Winnipeg before their home opener in Week 4 on July 18 against the Toronto Argonauts. These arrangements were made to accommodate for any delays that might be incurred due to the construction of TD Place Stadium.

Shaw's personal reputation following the Great War was at a low ebb, and it is thought that he wanted to first test the play away from Britain. The play received its premiere on 28 December 1923 at the Garrick Theatre on Broadway by the Theatre Guild with Winifred Lenihan in the title role. The London première, which opened on 26 March 1924 at the New Theatre, was produced by Lewis Casson and starred Shaw's friend Sybil Thorndike, the actress for whom he had written the part. Costumes and sets were designed by Charles Ricketts, and the play had an extensive musical score, specially composed and conducted by John Foulds.

These included notable Australian films Blackrock and Oscar and Lucinda. He has had guest roles in the series The Secret Life of Us, Stingers and Farscape. Morrell starred as Harry in Australia's first production of Michael Gow's play Away, which was performed by the Griffin Theatre Company and premiered at the Stables Theatre, Sydney on 7 January 1986. After filming Oscar And Lucinda, Morrell won the role of forensic scientist Lance Fisk in the series Murder Call, which screened from 1997 to 1999. In 2000, he won one of his most significant roles to date, as the protagonist of the ABC series Grass Roots.

Blyth reached the fifth round of the FA Cup in 1977–78. Having beaten Chesterfield and another non-league side, Enfield F.C., in the second and third rounds respectively, they managed to beat Stoke City (who had recently been relegated from the top flight) in the fourth round. The club were then drawn to play away at Wrexham (whose victory over Newcastle United denied Spartans a tie against their North East neighbours) where they drew 1–1. The replay took place at Newcastle United's St James' Park where, watched by a crowd of 42,167, Blyth eventually went out, losing 2–1, meaning they missed out on a home tie with Arsenal.

He followed this with freelance work and a five-year stint with the BBC Showband (a forerunner of the BBC Radio Orchestra) and as a core member of Wally Stott's orchestra on BBC Radio's The Goon Show, for which he made several acting appearances, for example as 'Chisholm MacChisholm the Steaming Celt' in 'The Macreekie Rising of '74'. Chisholm had roles in the films The Mouse on the Moon (1963), The Knack ...and How to Get It (1965) and Superman III (1983). He was also part of the house band for the children's programmes Play School and Play Away. He also sang and was a storytelller on Playschool occasionally.

On 11 May 2017, it was announced by the Indian Super League organizers, Football Sports Development, that they would be inviting bids for new teams to join the league for the upcoming season. The bids would be for ten cities, namely Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Cuttack, Durgapur, Hyderabad, Jamshedpur, Kolkata, Ranchi, Siliguri and Thiruvananthapuram. It was also clarified that if Kolkata were to win at least one bid for a team, the new "Kolkata" side would have to play away from the city for two seasons. On 25 May 2017, it was announced that bidding for new teams had ended and that the league's appointed external validator would look over the bids.

Volodymyr Muntyan interview (FC Dynamo Kyiv official site, October 2005) During their first season, the Soviet press often criticized them for rationalism and unwillingness to play attacking football (the so-called away model — the team would play away games defensively to score a draw). In that season, the team won both the league and Soviet Cup. Both Lobanovskyi and Bazylevych understood the importance of an accurate calculation of the physical load on players. With cooperation from Anatoly Zelentsov, a scientist from the department of physical education theory of Kyiv State Institute of Physical Education, Lobanovskyi brought an accurate system of a calculation of the training process and mathematical modeling of physical load for the team.

Historian Joseph McLaren notes that the play was popular with audiences because they were intrigued by the tragic mulatto theme. Critics, however, were more negative, perhaps in part because director/producer Martin Jones altered much of the plot, moving the play away from tragedy and into melodrama. Melinda D. Wilson notes that Jones's addition of a rape scene may have helped sell tickets, but also may have reinforced stereotypes of violent and promiscuous blacks—the kinds of stereotypes that Negro and Mulatto writers of the time were trying to stamp out. To a right-handed batsman, a fast bowler will generally concentrate on bowling repeated outswingers, aiming to tempt the batsman to play away from his body and get him out in one of the ways described above. However, sometimes a fast bowler may attempt to deceive the batsman by bowling an off cutter instead of a standard outswinger, and look to get a batsman out either bowled or lbw. More commonly, variation is in the length of the ball, with yorkers and bouncers. An effective delivery length is one that places the ball approaching the top of the stumps; usually between two-thirds to three- quarters up the length of the pitch.

Ecuador won the tie 3–0 to qualify for the finals in Madrid in November (but which were subsequently postponed), with Japan returning to World Group I, where they are scheduled to eventually play away to Pakistan. McLachlan and Bambridge had a mixture of first and second round losses once the tour resumed in September, including a bad first-round loss in the US Open, their first tournament back. They ended their partnership after losing in the first round at the French Open to Wesley Koolhof and Nikola Mektić, the runners-up in the US Open. McLachlan and Franko Škugor reached the semi-finals in St Petersburg, losing to eventual champions Jürgen Melzer and Édouard Roger-Vasselin.

Catalans informed the RFL, that the club had no intention of paying, leading to the possibility, that for the first time ever, the competition would take place without the defending champions being in the tournament. However, after settling their dispute with the RFL, it was confirmed that they would be defending their title. The first and second rounds of the competition are competed for solely by amateur teams, and for 2019, 51 British based teams are joined by Serbian side Red Star in the draw for the first round of the cup. Red Star's entry is on condition that they play away from home in the first and second rounds (assuming victory in the first round).

In August 1974 the couple moved to Brighton where Donaldson had been appointed as editor at Robert Tyndall, a small book publishers. Shortly before this she had sent a tape of songs to BBC Children's Television, and between 1974 and 1978 she wrote regularly for the programme Play Away, her songs being performed by actors and musicians including Toni Arthur, Floella Benjamin, Johnny Ball, Brian Cant, Derek Griffiths and musical director Jonathan Cohen. She also wrote occasional songs for Play School and for the Watch with Mother programme Play Board. Jacuzzi was on target again in the seventh round, scoring Niort's first in a 2–1 win away at Les Herbiers VF before Argentine midfielder Matías Pérez García netted the winning goal three minutes from time. Niort were handed a fourth consecutive away tie in the eighth round, being drawn to play away at Championnat de France amateur side Quimper on 13 December 2008. Lee Pressman one of the writers on T-bag, recounted: > the idea for the series started when the head of children's television at > Thames, Marjorie Sigley, decided that she wanted to make a series of > "educational" shows about words and letters of the alphabet. The first of > the shows was "Words words words", a mishmash of cobbled together sketches, > songs and poems. I had been writing BBC's "Play Away" (a far superior light > entertainment fest), and Thames TV blatantly asked me whether I had any > unused stuff in my bottom drawer that I could contribute to "Words" since > they were a tad short on material. Little did I know that many other writers > were being asked the very same question... and one of them was Grant Cathro.

Jones began his TV career as a co-presenter of Play School, a daily programme for pre-school-age children, in which he played guitar and sang. In 1972, he became the host of Fingerbobs, another show for younger children, in which he created characters from finger puppets made of paper. He was also one of a number of well-known entertainers who took turns to present We Want To Sing, a musical variety series made by BBC Manchester, in which a young live audience was invited to sing along with songs performed by the host and various guests such as The New Seekers, The Settlers, and cabaret trio The New Faces. Other BBC TV programmes in which he appeared included Watch and Play Away.

A crucial 4–1 victory over Brighton & Hove Albion on 5 April boosted the Bees' survival chances, but a defeat and a win in the following two matches respectively put Brentford one place above the relegation zone going into the final day, level on points with Norwich City, but ahead by virtue of a 0.774 goal average. Brentford would play away to Merthyr Town and Norwich City away to Reading on Saturday 26 April, but torrential rain and gale force winds forced the Bees' match to be postponed twice, to the following Tuesday. Norwich City won their match 5–2, but the scoreline would not guarantee the Canaries' safety on goal average if Brentford won their match by any score.

After Gow received notice as a playwright for The Kid in 1983, his play Away first performed in 1986 by Sydney's Griffin Theatre Company established him as a major Australian playwright. Away is the story of three Australian families who go on holiday "up the coast" for Christmas 1967 as a remedy to personal crises, whose story threads eventually interconnect. The families cross the class and social divides: one is in a smart hotel, another is at the local caravan park; another is in the throes of possible divorce. These factors are woven into a story of love and loss that allows a young boy and girl to taste first love and the pain of death while their parents cope, more or less, with the consequences.

Irons in July 2006 Irons's TV career began on British television in the early 1970s, including appearances on the children's series Play Away and as Franz Liszt in the BBC series Notorious Woman (1974). More significantly, he starred in the 13-part adaptation of H.E. Bates' novel Love for Lydia (1977) for London Weekend Television, and attracted attention for his key role as the pipe-smoking German student, a romantic pairing with Judi Dench, in Harold Pinter's screenplay adaptation of Aidan Higgins' novel Langrishe, Go Down (1978) for BBC Television. The role which significantly raised his profile was Charles Ryder in the television adaptation of Evelyn Waugh's Brideshead Revisited (1981). First broadcast on ITV, the show ranks among the most successful British television dramas, with Irons receiving a Golden Globe nomination for his performance.

Blundell Park The local football team is Grimsby Town F.C., nicknamed The Mariners, who as of the 2016–17 season play in Football League Two. Their ground is Blundell Park in Cleethorpes and it is often joked by locals that it is the only British club to play away every game. It is the oldest professional football team in the county of Lincolnshire and one of the oldest in the country, being formed in 1878 as Grimsby Pelham with a home ground on land off Ainslie Street, Grimsby. During the 1930s Grimsby Town played in the English First Division, then the highest level of the domestic game in England. It also appeared in two FA Cup semi-finals in the 1930s: in 1936 (against Arsenal) and in 1939 (against Wolverhampton Wanderers).

Parma entered the competition at the Round of 16 as the rules of the tournament dictated that, alongside those teams which qualified for Europe for the 2010–11 season, the highest finisher in Serie A who failed to qualify for European football would begin competing at that advanced stage. As the entirety of the tournament is pre-drawn, Parma knew the identity of the ten teams that would fight for the right to play away at the Ennio Tardini in the Round of 16 in the first four preliminary rounds. These were Santegidiese, Trapani, AlzanoCene, Reggiana, SPAL, Alessandria, all of whom competed from the First Round; Reggina, Frosinone, Empoli, all of whom competed from the Second Round; and Fiorentina, who competed from the Third Round. It transpired that Fiorentina – the only Serie A team in the section – emerged as Parma's opponents.

Inside Boundary Park In 1986 the club installed an artificial pitch in order to generate more income for the club and this coincided with the club's upturn in fortunes under manager Joe Royle. In 1987, the club reached the play-offs and in 1989–90 the club went through what is regarded as one of the club's greatest ever seasons, reaching the League Cup Final and the semi-final of the FA Cup, and the club claimed major upsets in defeating the likes of Arsenal, Southampton, Everton and Aston Villa. Critics felt that the pitch gave the club an advantage, but in 1991 Royle responded to this. When the Portsmouth manager declared that Oldham couldn't play away from home, Royle stuck the article to the dressing room door and the team responded with a 4–1 victory.

On 26 May 2018 Al Jazeera news channel findings depict that possibly pitch tampering would have happened during the home test matches involving Sri Lanka against Australia in 2016 and against India in 2017. The news channel also stated that through monitoring the pitch conditions the fixers have managed easily to make money. Match-fixers Robin Morris, a former Indian domestic cricketer along with Dubai based business person Gaurav Rajkumar, Galle groundsman Tharanga Indika and Sri Lankan first-class cricketer Tharindu Mendis have also been investigated by the ICC for attempting another pitch tampering at Galle in Sri Lanka's forthcoming first test match against England as a part of the England's upcoming series against Sri Lanka in November 2018. Concerns also raised by the English Cricket Board whether to play away series against Sri Lanka over the planned pitch tampering at the Galle Cricket Stadium for the first Test match.

A dirt and tanbark field measuring 80 yards long (60 yards plus two ten-yard end zones) and 45 yards wide was constructed on the arena's floor. The Chicago Stadium games were notable for introducing several rule changes, including the introduction of hash marks to keep play away from spectators who were seated next to the field (much like modern indoor football), while goal posts were moved to the goal line. To compensate for the smaller field, teams were "penalized" 20 yards upon crossing midfield. (The Bears' official Web site goes further and claims that field goals were outlawed for the 1932 game.) In 1930, the Atlantic City Convention Center constructed a full-size indoor football field, and used it for one to three games a year during the 1930s; the stadium stopped hosting games in 1940 and did not resume hosting football games until 1961.

Speaking after talks with the UK government, Dan Marino argued that probably the biggest challenge facing a London franchise is the physical logistics of moving the staff and equipment across the Atlantic for every away game. To overcome this, he speculated that the NFL might follow the example of other sports like basketball and baseball, where some teams play away games in back to back series of three or four games, allowing the team to stay in the US for this part of their schedule. It has been noted that this approach may be problematic as it requires players to spend multiple weeks at a time away from home (whether home is in the US or London), something they would not have to do in a US based franchise. The NFL's use of a salary cap would also make using financial incentives to overcome this problematic.

The Kinect release for the Xbox 360 was estimated to have sold eight million units in the first sixty days of release, earning the hardware the Guinness World Record for the "Fastest-Selling Consumer Electronics Device". Over 10 million had been sold by March 2011. While seemingly successful, the Kinect had a number of downsides: its launch titles were primarily family-oriented games which may have drawn new audience but did not have the selling power of major video games like Battlefield and Call of Duty, and thus did not have a high attach rate, with only around 20% of the 55 million Xbox 360 users having purchased the unit. It had also been difficult to engage with developers and publishers of these more popular series, since altering their game play away from the controller would be disruptive, even with the added advantages Kinect could provide.

OH Leuven were drawn at home to Belgian Second Division side Lommel United in the sixth round of the 2015–16 Belgian Cup. The game saw four players score against their former team, as Cerigioni, Trossard and Regales each scored in the first half for OH Leuven while on the other side former OHL player Wouter Scheelen scored through a stunning long range shot. Christophe Bertjens scored the second goal for Lommel United in the second half and after OHL failed to score following several opportunities, Brandon Deville nearly equalized in the last minute but his shot went high over the target which allowed OHL to progress. The seventh round saw OH Leuven play away at Mouscron-Péruwelz, in a game which took place just three days before the important relegation clash against Westerlo, causing Emilio Ferrera to leave regulars John Bostock, Yohan Croizet, Flavien Le Postollec, Jordan Remacle and Leandro Trossard out of the starting lineup.

Martin's first television appearances were in children's programmes, including Watch and Play Away, later making his prime-time television debut in an episode of Potter (1980) which starred Arthur Lowe. He went on to appear in Holding the Fort (1980), a BBC production of The Merchant of Venice (1980), The Professionals (1980), Yes Minister (1981), The Setbacks (1981), Angels (1982), and In Sickness and in Health (1985).Martin on the Internet Movie Database He played Alan Medford in seven episodes of Terry and June between 1980 and 1987. Further television appearances include Roger Duff in the final series of No Place Like Home (1987), Bread (1991), Anglo-Saxon Attitudes (1992), Minder (1993), Resnick: Rough Treatment (1993), Anna Lee (1994), Shine on Harvey Moon (1995), Call Red (1996), Jack and Jeremy's Real Lives (1996), Does China Exist? (1997), The Jump (1998), EastEnders (1999), Midsomer Murders (2002), My Dad's the Prime Minister (2003), The Brief (2004), 55 Degrees North (2004), Judge John Deed (2005), Casualty (2007), Doctors (2006-9), and Trial & Retribution (2008).

In the end, Leinster's 12–3 win over Edinburgh was sufficient as Wasps were defeated in Castres and Leinster qualified as the sixth seeds for the quarter-finals, meaning that they would have to play away to third seeds Harlequins in the quarter-finals. Leinster's quarter-final against Harlequins was the last of the quarter-finals to be played, and also the lowest-scoring: Harlequins responded to two first-half penalties from Felipe Contepomi with a 65th-minute try from Mike Brown; Chris Malone had the chance to give Harlequins the lead, but his conversion attempt went wide of the far post.
