Out Like a Light is a live album by jazz guitarist John Scofield with his trio released in 1983 on Enja Records. The album is the follow-up to his previous Shinola as both recordings contain material from the same Munich concert venue. Out Like a Light contains the third evening of December 1981 the trio stayed there. Except for the last track, a standard by Alan Jay Lerner the repertoire consists of four original compositions by Scofield that all run over 7 minutes.

The first story they wrote in this so-called "Psi-Power" series was "That Sweet Little Old Lady," published in the Sept./October 1959 edition of Analog Science Fiction and Science Fact. Subsequent stories including "Out Like a Light" (Analog, April/May/June 1960), and "Occasion for Disaster" (Analog, November/December 1960 and January/February 1961). All of the stories were novella length and were subsequently reprinted in 1962 and 1963 by Pyramid Books under different titles ("That Sweet Little Old Lady" as Brain Twister, "Out Like a Light" as The Impossibles, and "Occasion for Disaster" as Supermind).

Bar Talk is an album by jazz guitarist John Scofield. It was recorded in August 1980 at Celebration Studios in New York City and produced by Mark Bingham and John Scofield. The John Scofield Trio, established here, went on to release two live albums which were recorded sixteen months later in Munich and released on the German Enja label: Out Like a Light and Shinola. Bar Talk is stylistically very close to the later live recordings and features four Scofield compositions ("New Strings Attached", "How to Marry a Millionaire", "Fat Dancer", and "Nature Calls") along with Steve Swallow's "Never", and "Beckon Call" written by Gary Campbell.

In late 1945, he formed a partnership called Gayer & Lewiston Enterprises with Archie Gayer, operator of Archie's Playland Arcade in Detroit. They co-ran the Monroe Theatre, and a new annex was added to the back of the arcade, where Lewiston managed a variety of attractions for several years, including an exhibit titled "Crime Does Not Pay," bazaars, and sideshow acts. After two weeks of recuperation, including treatment with a stomach pump, milk of magnesia, and oatmeal, Marino continued performing with Lewiston's Museum.
