However, Rósa is miserable in her new home, which does not compare well to the luxury she was used to at Rauðsmýri. Anderson was born in Ayrshire, Scotland to John and Agnes Allan in 1826. The family of ten (four daughters, four sons and both parents) emigrated to Nelson on board the ship New Zealand, arriving in 1842. Two years later she married John Anderson, and her sister Janet married Alexander McKay, who had emigrated to New Zealand from Scotland with John and his father James in 1840. Muklawa is a 2019 Indian-Punjabi romantic comedy period film directed by Simerjit Singh, and produced by Gunbir Singh Sidhu and Manmord Sidhu under the banner of White Hill Studios. The film starring Ammy Virk, Sonam Bajwa, Gurpreet Ghuggi, Karamjit Anmol and B.N. Sharma is based on the tradition, in which newly-wed bride is brought back to her parents' house a few days after the wedding. Muklawa is set against the backdrop of the Punjab of 1960s. Principal photography of the film began in September 2018 and it was released on 24 May 2019. The film opened to “mixed to positive” reviews from critics.

It is a site with which a mythological story is attached to a merchant named Chanda Sadagar and his son Lakhindar and his daughter-in-law Beula. The legend says that Chanda Sadagar, who was a devotee of Lord Siva, once got a curse from 'Nag Devata' (the God of Snake) that he would have no descendants any further as his only son would be killed on the latter's wedding night. To prevent this, Lakhindar and his bride was confined in the "Mer Ghar" (a specially built sealed house for the newly wed couple to prevent entry of snakes ). Linrholwani are sometimes worn as neckpieces and as leg and arm bands by newly wed women whose husbands have not yet provided them with a home, or by girls of marriageable age after the completion of their initiation ceremony (ukuthomba). Tiregān () is one of ancient Iranian festival coinciding with the mid summer festivals, another midsummer festival is Gilaki Bal Nowrooz which is held in the north of Iran. Bal Nowrooz, meaning ‘the fire of Nowrooz’, is the name of a festival celebrated on the first day of ‘Our Nowrooz’ and this is the first day of Daylaman New Year. Wally was born at the tin mining town of Greenbushes, Western Australia, where his newly-wed parents Harrie Walter Bridgland (31 May 1879 – 17 October 1947) and Hannah Maud Bridgland, née Cohen, (1876 – 13 June 1958) had set up a store. In some instances when a groom is marrying a young bride, the engagement period may last longer until the Tausug lass has reached the right age to marry; or the matrimonial ceremony may proceed – a wedding the Tausug termed as “to marry in a handkerchief” or kawin ha saputangan – because the newly-wed man can live after marriage at the home of his parents- in-law but cannot have marital sex with his wife until she reaches the legal age. Tausug culture also allows the practice of divorce.

Azad's first published book was about collection of poems written by himself, the book was titled as Aloukik Istimar (), this was published in 1973, in which year he went to Scotland for studying Ph.D in Linguistics from University of Edinburgh. When Kris Aquino took over the hosting role of Korina Sanchez in her magazine show Balitang K (Sanchez was then promoted as Chief Correspondent and became the anchor of TV Patrol, whose seat was vacated by Noli de Castro, who would run in the 2001 Senatorial elections, then became Vice President on June 30, 2004 and returned to TV Patrol on November 8, 2010), this lead her talk show Today with Kris Aquino to air its final episode on March 9, 2001. Balitang Kris premiered on March 5, 2001 but a few months later, the show cancelled due to low ratings. The network needed a new talk show, to accommodate the vacant slot left by Aquino's talk show. Liu Che was later created crown prince at the age of 7, and formally married Chen as the empress-designate some years later. When Emperor Jing died in early 141 BC, the 16-year-old heir apparent Liu Che ascended to the throne as Emperor Wu, and formally made his newly-wed wife Empress not long after.
