It's during the spring and summer 1918, when her close friend she met in Paris came to visit her at Looe in Cornwall, that Rice painted her famous portrait of New Zealand short story writer Katherine Mansfield. Mansfield had just been diagnosed with tuberculosis and she suggested herself to be painted in vivid red. Then she wrote a letter to her collaborator and newly-wed husband John Middleton Murry to share her experience as Rice's model: > A. came early and began the great painting — me in that red, brick red frock > with flowers everywhere. It’s awfully interesting, even now.

The only consolation was July's news that Metternich was to receive new estates along the Rhine at Johannisberg, only from his birthplace at Koblenz. In June 1817 Metternich was required to escort the emperor's newly wed daughter Maria Leopoldina to a ship at Livorno. There was delay upon their arrival, and Metternich spent the time travelling around Italy again; he visited Venice, Padua, Ferrara, Pisa, Florence and Lucca. Though alarmed by developments (he noted that many of Francis' concessions were still not in practice), he was optimistic and made another plea for decentralisation on 29 August.

Like The Amityville Horror, G.I. Joe: The Rise of Cobra was not well received by most critics, but performed well at the box office. Richard Corliss of Time wrote that Nichols had "an appealing manner and comely biceps" as Scarlett O'Hara and took notice of her "savory girl fight with Sienna Miller, as the mostly villainous Baroness." After G.I. Joe, Nichols' next project was the horror film For Sale by Owner, where she played the half of a newly wed couple buying a house with a secret past. The film only received a direct-to-DVD release.

The 1996 multi-channel video installation Uncertain Pleasure simultaneously shows 10 different views of a man scratching himself, images haunted by a vague eroticism and sense of voyeurism or surveillance. This forces the viewer to both question social uses of video communication and seek a new definition of mediated pleasure. The 2005 work The Lowest Resolution takes footage from a sexual instruction video intended for newly-wed couples and freely available, repositioned in an installation where the resolution reduces the closer the viewer gets to the video feed. Spain, 1943 Since mid-1938exact date of Carlos Pio’s transfer from Austria (since the spring of 1938 incorporated into Germany) to Italy is not clear. In May 1938 he was still in Vienna, where he got married. One work provides picturesque details of the transfer to Italy but does not give an exact date. It might be understood that Doña Blanca with her daughter Dolores, Don Carlos and his newly wed wife moved some time late spring or early summer 1938, either fleeing the Nazi rule or fleeing the threat of war; at that time Italy was considered a safe heaven unlikely to be involved in military conflict, Bertita Harding, The Lost Waltz, New York 1944, p.

Evelyn has also, however, recently received a present from her spurned lover, Joseph Roelocke, as a peace offering - a copper ring "made like a scaly snake coiled three times, with its tail in its mouth and yellow jewels for eyes." James believes Roelocke found the ring somewhere in Hungary.

Miller suggests that the birth order effect on homosexuality may be a by-product of an evolved mechanism that shifts personality away from heterosexuality in laterborn sons. According to Miller, this would have the consequence of reducing the probability of these sons engaging in unproductive competition with each other. Evolution may have favored biological mechanisms prompting human parents to exert affirmative pressure toward heterosexual behavior in earlier-born children: As more children in a family survive infancy and early childhood, the continued existence of the parents' gene line becomes more assured (cf. the pressure on newly-wed European aristocrats, especially young brides, to produce "an heir and a spare"), and the benefits of encouraging heterosexuality weigh less strongly against the risk of psychological damage that a strongly heteronormative environment poses to a child predisposed toward homosexuality.

Rose Pinon and he were newly wed; perhaps aware of Flinder's imprisonment and his enforced separation from his wife Ann, they conspired to avoid a similar fate aboard. Dressed in men's clothes; Rose de Freycinet became the first woman to write an account of her experiences circumnavigating the world. Rose in front of the tent to the right of the observatory, Shark Bay, Western Australia, 1919 To prepare the ship for his wife's presence, de Freycinet had the living quarters of the corvette renovated (they were refurbished and extended, even at the expense of the ship's navigability), and much attention was paid to hygienic standards aboard the ship, food safety, and health. Apparently, becoming a stowaway was Rose's own idea; she may have hatched the plan as early as 1815, and probably solidified her scheme after her husband received approval for the expedition, in October 1816.
She recovers and sells the business. ;Thelma Baird (née Clifford): (1904 - May 1988), a kindly old woman and the Patterson family's neighbour. Born in the Yorkshire Dales, England to a farming family with a tradition of breeding old English sheepdogs, Thelma had expected to live in the Dales all her life until she met William Baird when she was 20. A hired man on the family farm, William's ambitions to rise above his traditional roots and work with machines took the newly wed couple to southern Ontario, where William became a dealer in farm machinery, with Thelma as his business partner. Their business survived the Depression years and boomed during the Second World War; by 1946, the Bairds had five dealerships and 25 employees. Sadly for Thelma, who always wanted children, the couple's business responsibilities never allowed them either the time or the money to raise a family before William's death from incurable cancer in the early 1950s.
Philippine Muslim (Tausug) Marriages on Jolo Island, Part Four: Weddings and Divorces, zawaj.com After the period of engagement has lapsed, the marital-union ceremony is observed by feastings, delivery of the whole bridewealth, slaughtering of a carabao or a cow, playing gongs and native xylophones, reciting prayers in the Arabic and Tausug languages, symbolic touching by the groom of his bride's forehead, and the couple's emotionless sitting-together ritual. In some instances when a groom is marrying a young bride, the engagement period may last longer until the Tausug lass has reached the right age to marry; or the matrimonial ceremony may proceed – a wedding the Tausug termed as “to marry in a handkerchief” or kawin ha saputangan – because the newly-wed man can live after marriage at the home of his parents- in-law but cannot have marital sex with his wife until she reaches the legal age. Tausug culture also allows the practice of divorce.

The law gives photographers the right to commercially use photos of people who have not consented to the use of the images in which they appear if the depicted people have either been paid for the photo session as models (so there is no separation between editorial and commercial models in Greek law) or they have paid the photographer for obtaining the photo (this, for example, gives the right to wedding photographers to advertise their work using their photos of newly-wed couples they photographed in a professional capacity). In Greece the right to take photographs and publish them or sell licensing rights over them as fine art or editorial content is protected by the Constitution of Greece (Article 14Article 14 of the Constitution of Hellas and other articles) and free speech laws as well as by case law and legal cases. Photographing the police or children and publishing the photographs in a non-commercial capacity is also legal.
Emperor Wu's relationship with his newly-wed first wife, Empress Chen, started to strain not long after he ascended to the throne at age 16. Empress Chen was an older cousin who was at least 8 years his senior, and their union was arranged from the political alliance between his mother Consort Wang Zhi (王夫人) and his paternal aunt Grand Princess Guantao (館陶長公主), when he was barely 6 years old. The marriage was consummated at some point after Emperor Wu was then created the crown prince, but soon soured after Empress Chen was unable to bear him any children after many years. This tension further deteriorated after the young Emperor Wu, whose political survival at the time relied heavily on lobbying from his aunt/mother-in-law after the defeat of his ambitious reform in 140 BC by his grandmother Grand Empress Dowager Dou, was forced to submit to the spoilt and abusive behavior of Empress Chen.
When Kris Aquino took over the hosting role of Korina Sanchez in her magazine show Balitang K (Sanchez was then promoted as Chief Correspondent and became the anchor of TV Patrol, whose seat was vacated by Noli de Castro, who would run in the 2001 Senatorial elections, then became Vice President on June 30, 2004 and returned to TV Patrol on November 8, 2010), this lead her talk show Today with Kris Aquino to air its final episode on March 9, 2001. Balitang Kris premiered on March 5, 2001 but a few months later, the show cancelled due to low ratings. The network needed a new talk show, to accommodate the vacant slot left by Aquino's talk show. On March 12, 2001, Talk TV premiered at 10:30am, with broadcasters turned newly-wed couple Julius Babao and Christine Bersola, Ryan Agoncillo (who transferred from GMA Network) and television actress Janette McBride, gracing the show as the main hosts.
After rejecting the choice of dozens of palace maids, Princess Guantao eventually showed her daughter to Liu Che, who bragged that he would "build a golden house for her" if they were married. (This inspired the Chinese idiom "Hiding Jiao in a golden house" , which later ironically became a term for keeping a mistress rather than a wife.) Princess Guantao then used the tale as proof that the marriage was destined to happen to convince Emperor Jing, who finally agreed to the arranged marriage. Liu Che was later created crown prince at the age of 7, and formally married Chen as the empress-designate some years later. When Emperor Jing died in early 141 BC, the 16-year-old heir apparent Liu Che ascended to the throne as Emperor Wu, and formally made his newly-wed wife Empress not long after.
