Theewaterskloof Municipality is a local municipality located within the Overberg District Municipality, in the Western Cape province of South Africa. As of 2007, the population was 108,790. Its municipality code is WC031. The enormous Theewaterskloof Dam, which provides water for Cape Town and the surrounding areas, is located in this municipality.
Clockwise from the north, Dörrebach’s neighbours are the municipality of Seibersbach, the town of Stromberg, the municipality of Schöneberg, the municipality of Spabrücken and the municipality of Spall, all of which lie in the Bad Kreuznach district, and the municipality of Argenthal, which lies in the neighbouring Rhein-Hunsrück- Kreis.
The main town and the site of its municipal council is the town also named as Hillerød. The city of Hillerød also houses the administrative capital of Region Hovedstaden. Neighboring municipalities are Fredensborg municipality to the east, Gribskov municipality to the north, Frederiksværk-Hundested municipality to the west, and Frederikssund and Allerød to the south. The municipality of Stemshaug was established on 1 July 1914 when Aure Municipality was divided. The eastern district (population: 851) became the new Stemshaug Municipality and the western district (population: 2,372) continued on as Aure Municipality. During the 1960s, there were many municipal mergers across Norway due to the work of the Schei Committee. On 1 January 1965, Stemshaug Municipality (population: 877) was merged with Aure Municipality (population: 2,203), and the parts of Valsøyfjord Municipality (population: 141) and Tustna Municipality (population: 85) located on the island of Ertvågøya.
