Mount Serta is a mountain above the village of Konče and, in the south of the municipality, is the man-made lake Mantovo.

Neighboring municipalities are Fredensborg municipality to the east, Gribskov municipality to the north, Frederiksværk-Hundested municipality to the west, and Frederikssund and Allerød to the south. On 1 January 2007, Hillerød municipality was merged with Skævinge municipality and Uvelse valgdistrikt of former Slangerup municipality as the result of Kommunalreformen ("The Municipality Reform" of 2007), forming the new Hillerød municipality.
The municipality of Stemshaug was established on 1 July 1914 when Aure Municipality was divided. The eastern district (population: 851) became the new Stemshaug Municipality and the western district (population: 2,372) continued on as Aure Municipality. Mezquitic Municipality is a municipality in the north of the state of Jalisco, Mexico. It is bordered to the north east and west by the state of Zacatecas. It also shares its northern border with Huejuquilla el Alto Municipality and it shares its southern border with Villa Guerrero Municipality and Bolaños Municipality. The municipality includes a number of autonomously governed Wixárika (Huichol) communities, including San Andrés Cohamiata.
The municipality was created in 1970 as the result of a ("Municipality Reform") from Munkebo Parish (Bjerge Herred). Munkebo municipality ceased to exist as the result of Kommunalreformen ("The Municipality Reform" of 2007). It was merged with Kerteminde and Langeskov municipalities to form an enlarged Kerteminde municipality. This created a municipality with an area of 203 km2 and a total population of 23,071 (2005).
