In 1994, while the company was moving to its previous location at Llangollen in North Wales, a huge fire destroyed the old site at Winsford in Cheshire, and large quantities of products and historical Wrenn material were destroyed.
Gardner loved golf, all forms of transport, and was a keen modeller. He was taken ill while mending one of his sons' bicycles in the garden of his flat near Marble Arch. He died of a stroke on 26 July 1950 at the age of 39. Many in the profession attended his memorial service and he was buried in Willesden Cemetery.

Lucy Kennedy (born 11 July 1988) is an Australian cyclist, who currently rides for UCI Women's WorldTeam . A former triathlete, track and cross country runner, Kennedy was the recipient of the 2017 Amy Gillett Scholarship to do a European tour of races with the High5 Australian Development Team. She has degrees in Civil Engineering, and Commerce, working as a traffic modeller. Kennedy joined UCI Women's Team for the 2018 season.
The exterior is a mixture of red brick and grey terracotta. Plans are intended for the more experienced modeller, since the builder must make or find all the parts themselves. Scratch builders may draw their own plans, and source all the materials themselves. Any method may be labour-intensive, depending on the model in question.
Egide Walschaerts (21 January 1820 - 18 February 1901) was a Belgian mechanical engineer, best known as the inventor of the Walschaerts valve gear for use in steam locomotives. He was born in Mechelen, Belgium. In 1838 he was recognised as an excellent modeller, presenting his work at a local exhibition in Mechelen. Minister Rogier, who opened the exhibition, was so impressed that he arranged a place for Walschaerts at Liège University.

In 1802 was appointed Modeller in Wax to Queen Charlotte. She was awarded 'The Larger Silver Pallet' by the Society for the Encouragement of Arts, Manufactures and Commerce for her model of Princess Charlotte and a portrait of Lord Nelson.
Josef Grassi was born in Vienna, the younger brother of sculptor and porcelain modeller Anton Grassi. Their father, Ottilio, was a goldsmith from Udine. Josef studied at the Vienna Academy of Fine Arts. He felt that he was being unfairly treated there so, when he lost a competition for a travel scholarship to Heinrich Friedrich Füger, he took the advice of some friends who were Polish nationalists and moved to Warsaw.
The Multi-User Seamless3d chat server designed for 3D World Wide Web browsing is open source under the MIT license and can be compiled for both Linux and Windows. Currently the Seamless3d modeller is used as the 3D chat client. An online Seamless3d chat server has been in continuous service since April 2009. He married Mary, daughter of Edward Egan, in 1871. Real-time, interactive rendering of NURBS curves and surfaces was first made commercially available on Silicon Graphics workstations in 1989. In 1993, the first interactive NURBS modeller for PCs, called NöRBS, was developed by CAS Berlin, a small startup company cooperating with the Technical University of Berlin.
In later life Scurry worked as an architectural modeller and orchardist before his war injuries forced him to retire. During the Second World War, he served on home service, as commandant of an internment camp before retiring to civilian life following the end of the war. Jenkinson was born in Leeds and educated at Prince Henry's Grammar School, Otley, which in 1951 took him to a field trip to the Settle-Carlisle Railway line (S&C;), which would start a lengthy relationship with that line. He went to London University where he met his future wife Sheila, with whom he had four children (Christopher, Hilary, Timothy and Nicola). After graduating Jenkinson joined the Royal Air Force (RAF) in 1956, from which he retired in 1972 having achieved the rank of Squadron Leader. During this time he built his 4 mm scale EM gauge models MarthwaiteJenkinson, David, "Marthwaite" Railway Modeller, June 1964 and Garsdale RoadJenkinson, David, "Garsdale Road" Railway Modeller, April 1970 (see Garsdale) representing a station on the S&C; set during the 1930s period when it was run by the London, Midland and Scottish Railway (LMS). In 1963, with Bob Essery and others he founded the LMS Society.
Wegely hired first-class craftsmen from his competitors, and appointed the porcelain sculptor Ernst Heinrich Reichard to the post of chief modeller. However, technical difficulties and the Seven Years’ War between Prussia and Saxony soon proved to be the enterprise's downfall. In 1757, he dissolved his company and sold its inventories, equipment and materials to the Berlin businessman Johann Ernst Gotzkowsky. In 1761, the second porcelain manufactory in Berlin started its operations.
Several of these kits are also available to the OO modeller who aims for more realistic track since most RTR track is actually scaled to HO and does not represent any British prototype, and the sleeper spacing is too close for scale. Paul Howard Steed, Jr. (November 6, 1964 - August 11, 2012) was a video game modeller and artist. He worked for Origin Systems, Electronic Arts, id Software, Wild Tangent, Microsoft's Xbox, Atari, and Exigent. He created artwork or models for several prominent game series including Wing Commander and Quake. He was employed by id Software until he was fired in retaliation for conflict over the creation of Doom 3 (according to John Carmack).
Philippe Curtius Philippe Curtius (1737–1794) was a Swiss physician and wax modeller who taught Marie Tussaud the art of wax modelling. Marie Grosholtz, the future Marie Tussaud, lived in the Berne home of Curtius, for whom her mother acted as housekeeper. Marie called him 'Uncle', and in many ways he was a father figure. Curtius used his skill in wax modelling to illustrate anatomy as a physician, and sometimes for the entertainment of visitors.
In 1992, after completing his doctoral studies, Punt joined the School of Fisheries at the University of Washington as a research associate. In 1994, he moved to Australia to work as a resource modeller in the CSIRO's Division of Marine Research. Here, his work on stock assessments was influential for Australian fisheries. In 1999, the Australian Society for Fish Biology awarded Punt its K. Radway Allen Award in recognition of his scientific contributions.

He was interested in art from an early age and was apprenticed to a sculptor in Düsseldorf. He made a name for himself in the porcelain trade and was named Modellmeister at the acclaimed Höchst porcelain factory in 1767, a post he held until 1779.
GPSS resembles a LEGO structure where blocks are chosen by the modeller for specific functions to imitate a particular system. The language is neither procedural, object- oriented or functional programming. The world is simulated with entities moving through the model. These entities, called Transactions, are envisioned as moving from Block to Block, where a Block is a line of code and represents unit actions that affects the Transaction itself or other entities.

In the 1850s Hadley was apprenticed to Kerr and Binns of Worcester, proprietors of the Royal Worcester porcelain factory, where he worked in the modelling department. By 1870 he had become principal modeller there. In 1875, he left the company and set up his own modelling studio in Worcester High Street. Although no longer directly employed by Royal Worcester he sold almost his complete output of models for ornamental vases and figures to them.

Hornby Railways produce live steam locomotives in OO, based on designs first arrived at by an amateur modeller. William Greatbatch was apprenticed to Thomas Whieldon at Fenton Vivian, possibly in 1753. Whieldon was one of the most prolific and influential potters of the day and Greatbatch's apprenticeship would have offered many opportunities. James accepts work on arrival with James Campbell and Sons, a large sawmilling and building materials merchant of Brisbane. James Campbell and Sons had purchased in 1883, Petrie's Quarry and Brickworks along with Fischer’ Pottery at Albion as part of the company's expansion. There was a market at the time for good quality pottery and James was employed as a clay modeller at the pottery. James continued to be employed at the pottery for most of his working life.
Nelson William Illingworth (August 1862 - 26 June 1926)Daily Telegraph, Sydney, 28 June 1926 was an English sculptor and colourful bohemian. Illingworth was born in Portsmouth, England, son of Thomas Illingworth, plasterer, and his wife Sarah, née Harvey. He studied at the Lambeth art school and worked as a modeller at the Royal Doulton potteries. He emigrated to Sydney in 1892, and in 1895 his head of an Australian aboriginal was bought for the National Art Gallery in Sydney.
Demosthenes, Staffordshire figure modelled by Wood, c. 1800, over 18 inches tall (47.5 cm) Enoch Wood (1759–1840) was an English potter and businessman, from one of the major families in Staffordshire pottery. Starting as a modeller, he established a successful business in Burslem in the Staffordshire Potteries, from 1790-1818 trading as Wood and Caldwell. In the 18th century they produced many Staffordshire figures, which Wood modelled himself, and other types of earthenware and stoneware.
Racing car bodies were introduced, which contained more powerful motors with worm drive, and with the improved pickups mentioned above. The Minic Motorways system allowed the modeller to animate the roads as well as the railways in their townscapes. Some modellers used flexible track manufactured by Peco to enhance the level of realism. Minic, like Tri-ang railways, used 12-volt direct current with a two 'rail' system, which made reversing loops impossible without an insulated section.

The basic method for BREP was developed independently in the early 1970s by both Ian C. Braid in Cambridge (for CAD) and Bruce G. Baumgart at Stanford (for computer vision). Braid continued his work with the research solid modeller BUILD which was the forerunner of many research and commercial solid modelling systems. Braid worked on the commercial systems ROMULUS, the forerunner of Parasolid, and on ACIS. Parasolid and ACIS are the basis for many of today's commercial CAD systems.
Three years later, however, the couple adopted Catherine Andras an orphaned wax modeller from Bristol. During the Peace of Amiens, the Bowyers and Andras went to Paris as members of the Baptist Missionary Society and helped form the French Evangelical Society. Bowyer became increasingly active in religious causes later in his life, establishing a Sunday School, for example. He even bought a public house, demolished it, and built a chapel in its place near his place of business.

Robert J. "Bob" Essery is a British railway modeller and historian with a particular interest in the London Midland and Scottish Railway (LMS) and one of its principal constituents, the Midland Railway (MR). Essery was one of the founding members of the LMS Society in 1963, and particularly with David Jenkinson has authored many books. He worked in his early working years as a fireman on the LMS. Essery also established the historical journals Midland Record and LMS Journal.

John Francis Brake Mitchell OBE FRS (born 7 October 1948) is a British climatologist and climate modeller. He studied Applied Mathematics at Queen's University Belfast in 1970, staying on to gain a PhD in Theoretical Physics in 1973. In 1978, he was appointed head of the Climate Change group in what is now the Met Office's Hadley Centre for Climate Prediction and Research. He was Chief Scientist from 2002 to 2008 and Director of Climate Science from 2008 to 2010.
The Mantelli- Fossa MF-1 was designed by Adriano Mantelli, an experienced aircraft modeller. To fund its construction, Mantelli, his cousin Dino Sirocchi and some other aircraft modellers founded a company named SDAM after their senior partners' initials. The MF-1 was built by Ennio Fossa in his family workshop. It was a high-wing monoplane, its wing supported centrally on a fuselage pedestal and braced on each side with a faired V strut from beyond mid-span to the lower fuselage.

Jean-Claude Chambellan Duplessis (1699 — 1774), called Duplessis père to distinguish him from his son, Jean-Claude-Thomas Chambellan Duplessis (c. 1730 — 1783), was a goldsmith, sculptor and ceramics modeller, bronze-founder and decorative designer working in the Rococo manner. He served as artistic director of the Vincennes porcelain manufactory and its successor at Sèvres from 1748 to his death in 1774 and as royal goldsmith (orfèvre du Roi) from 1758 to 1774.
H0e scale A pizza layout is a model railway laid out as a circle of the smallest workable radius of curve, on the smallest possible square or circular baseboard. This baseboard can be so small as to look as if it would fit into a pizza box, hence the name. Pizza layouts are not serious scale models, but are to provide a little humour. Despite their simplicity, they are rarely built by beginners but are usually light relief for an experienced modeller.
One feature it did not have was the otherwise ubiquitous run-round loop, a staple of the rural branch line model. This meant that arriving locos were trapped in the platform ends until released by another. Requiring two working locos was not a problem for a busy urban station and it was a virtue to the modeller looking for excuses to run more stock in less space. It was contrary to rustic working though and the 'one engine in steam' principle.

Culturalists tend to be both less taxonomic and more culturally relativistic in their descriptions while critically reflecting on the power relationship between the ethnographer (or 'modeller') and the subjects of his or her research. While substantivists generally focus on institutions as their unit of analysis, culturalists lean towards detailed and comprehensive analyses of particular local communities. Both views agree in rejecting the formalist assumption that all human behaviour can be explained in terms of rational decision-making and utility maximisation.
John Bacon was born in Southwark on 24 November 1740, the son of Thomas Bacon, a clothworker whose family had formerly held a considerable estate in Somersetshire. At the age of fourteen, John was apprenticed to Mr Crispe's porcelain manufactory at Lambeth, where he was at first employed in painting the small ornamental pieces of china. His great skill at moulding led to his swift promotion to modeller. He devoted the additional income to the support of his parents, {then in straitened} circumstances.
Scurry was born in Carlton, Melbourne, to William Charles Scurry, an architectural modeller, and his English wife, Bessie Scurry (née Preston). He attended Ascot Vale State School before working for his father's firm. As part of the compulsory training scheme he served in the Senior Cadets before progressing on to the Citizens Forces in 1913 where he served as a colour sergeant before being commissioned as a second lieutenant in May 1914 and assigned to the 58th Infantry (Essendon Rifles).
Following the armistice, Scurry returned to Australia in 1919 and he became engaged to Doris Barry, an Army nurse he had met while in France. The couple were married in 1920 and later had four children. He returned to his father's firm, however, in 1923 as his vision failed he was forced to give up working as an architectural modeller. He subsequently moved to Silvan where he became an orchardist before his injury forced him to give up this work also.
William Michael Connolley (born 12 April 1964) is a British software engineer, writer, and blogger on climatology. Until December 2007 he was Senior Scientific Officer in the Physical Sciences Division in the Antarctic Climate and the Earth System project at the British Antarctic Survey, where he worked as a climate modeller. After this he became a software engineer for Cambridge Silicon Radio. Connolley received national press attention over several years for his involvement in editing Wikipedia articles relating to climate change.
Theresa Snell Walker (1807 – 17 April 1876) was an Australian sculptor and wax modeller who created medallion portraits. Born in England, Walker migrated to Australia with her sister, Martha Berkeley, and brother-in-law Captain Charles Berkeley. Her work is included in Australia in the collections of the National Portrait Gallery, the Art Gallery of South Australia, the National Gallery of Australia and the State Library of Victoria. An example of her work is also held by the Philadelphia Museum of Art.
The extent of the inaccuracy increases with the number of amino acids in the loop. The loop amino acids' side chains dihedral angles are often approximated from a rotamer library, but can worsen the inaccuracy of side chain packing in the overall model. Andrej Sali's homology modeling suite MODELLER includes a facility explicitly designed for loop modeling by a satisfaction of spatial restraints method. All methods require an upload of the PDB file and some require the specification of the loop location.

In 1778, Webber was chosen by the Oxford Paving Commission to carry out the sculptures and sphinxes for the balustrade of John Gwynn's Magdalen Bridge.
Ivy Gardner Proudfoot (also known as Jane Ivy Hunter Fergusson Proudfoot) (1894–1975) was active as a sculptor and modeller of mainly figurative pieces between 1920–1957. Her specialty was sculptural portraits of children. She was born in Greenock, where the McClean Museum and Art Gallery hold her work but spent the majority of her working life living in Glasgow. Gardner attended the Glasgow School of Art between 1914–1925, and later became a member of the Glasgow Society of Lady Artists.
Appreciated and supported by the King of Prussia, Gotzkowsky managed to attract important artists and qualified employees. Right at the start, Gotzkowsky appointed Friedrich Elias Meyer, a pupil of Johann Joachim Kändler who came from Meissen, to the post of chief modeller, and Carl Wilhelm Boehme to the post of head of the porcelain-painting department. Gotzkowsky bought another building next to his own property at Leipziger Straße 4, and he began to build a manufactory on the site. Nevertheless, Gotzkowsky's finances began to deteriorate.
Fiddle yards were first built by British modellers so that they could build small layouts and operate them in a realistic manner. The first well-known model railway to use them was 'Maybank', which was exhibited at the 1939 Model Railway Club exhibition in London. This was an urban passenger terminus that led directly into a fiddle yard, hidden beneath a locomotive depot above it. It had an influence on C. J. Freezer, who as editor of Railway Modeller, would later go on to popularise them.
Brian P. Flannery is a physicist who variously worked as an astrophysicist and as a climate modeller for ExxonMobil. He is known for being a co-author of Numerical Recipes, a widely used series of textbooks describing useful algorithms. Flannery obtained his undergraduate degree in astrophysics from Princeton University in 1970 and his doctorate from the University of California, Santa Cruz in 1974, under the supervision of John Faulkner. As an astrophysicist, he published work on cataclysmic variable stars and other interacting binaries until 1982.
Pistrucci submitted a report, in which he settled some old scores. The reforms abolished the positions of chief engraver (Wyon died in 1851) and chief medallist, with Pistrucci appointed a modeller and engraver to the Mint, to receive a salary in addition to payment for any work done. Pistrucci in 1850 moved from Old Windsor to Flora Lodge, Englefield Green, near Windsor, where he lived with his daughters Maria Elisa and Elena, both gem engravers. He continued to accept private commissions for cameos and medals.
He also exhibited at the Royal Academy between 1887 and 1895. In about 1892, the family moved to 'The Cedars', Anglesea Road, Ipswich and, after being in practice for over 25 years, he retired in 1897. He died in Bushey, Hertfordshire on 21 September 1905. Brightwen and Rachel had four children including Major Basil Binyon (1885–1947), a well-known electrical engineer appointed Director of BBC in 1922), Mary Sims Binyon (1882–1976), an artist and modeller) Olive Binyon (1888–1971) and Janet Binyon (1880–1963).

Teams and performers often demonstrate a stereotypical way of playing and these are idiosyncratic models, which include positive and negative aspects of performance. Patterns of play will begin to establish over a period of time but the greater the database then the more accurate the model. An established model provides for the opportunity to compare single performance against it. The modelling of competitive sport is an informative analytic technique because it directs the attention of the modeller to the critical aspects of data that delineate successful performance.
Hornsea "Elegance" pattern, designed by John Clappison. In the mid-1950s, the Rawson brothers started to recognise the potential of Philip's son, John Clappison, a student at Hull College of Art who produced the stylish, contemporary Elegance range of wares which are much in demand with collectors today. In 1954, the business moved to the site of the defunct Hornsea Brick and Tile Works. At this time the Pottery also employed other noted designers such as Dorothy Marion Campbell and Alan Luckham as modeller.
The Snowman and James figurines manufactured by John Beswick Ltd under the Royal Doulton trademark based on characters from the book The Snowman by Raymond Briggs. In 1939 Arthur Gredington was appointed chief modeller and they began producing farm animal figurines. Arthur Gredington's range of 190 Rearing Horsemen is one of the largest (and most popular amongst collectors) ever produced by the company. Under decorating manager Jim Hayward, there was a shift towards lifelike animal pieces, including cats, dogs, farm animals, fish and wild animals.
He graduated in 1892 and began exhibiting his work. Although his clay sculptures was well received, making a living as a fine artist proved difficult and he turned his hand to the applied arts. First as a modeller at the Bing & Grøndahl porcelain factory and, beginning in 1898, with a small pottery workshop he founded in partnership with Christian Petersen. Again the work was well received, but the sales were not strong enough to support Jensen, now a widower, and his two young sons.
Charles Vyse (1882 Staffordshire - 1971 Deal, Kent), was an English studio potter, noted for producing colourful figurines of characters seen on London streets. Charles was part of a Staffordshire family that had traditionally been involved in the pottery industry. He was apprenticed to Doulton in Burslem at age fourteen as a modeller and designer, and trained by Charles Noke. Henry Doulton saw his potential and steered him to the Hanley Art School where he won a scholarship to the Royal College of Art in London.
Dorothy Marion Campbell (11 January 1911 in Hedon, Yorkshire – 3 October 2005 in East Riding of Yorkshire) was an English potter. Early in 1954 Marion replied to Hornsea Pottery’s advertisement in the Hull Daily Mail for ‘a modeller in clay’ and was invited to work for the Rawson brothers. She worked from home, and took her completed models to Hornsea Pottery on the bus. Her designs for Hornsea, especially the African and Arctic figures, stylised vases, dogs, giraffes and cats are highly prized by collectors.
He was a linguist and musician, could draw and paint in water- colour, was an expert modeller, had some knowledge of mechanics, and was a capable photographer. Most of these things were useful in his work as curator of a museum, and as such his reputation stood very high. As a scientist his most important work was on the vertebrates. He was a fellow of the Linnean Society from an early age, and at the time of his death was a vice-president of the Royal Society of South Australia.
In general, to use mathematics for solving a real-world problem, the first step is to construct a mathematical model of the problem. This involves abstraction from the details of the problem, and the modeller has to be careful not to lose essential aspects in translating the original problem into a mathematical one. After the problem has been solved in the world of mathematics, the solution must be translated back into the context of the original problem. By outward seeing, there is various phenomenon from simple to complex in the real world.
The Albion Pottery was also well known for architectural terracotta, which was incorporated into buildings of the time giving a sculptured look to the building. The South Brisbane Town Hall built in 1892 is one of the well-known buildings that still exist that employed this architecture. The exterior decoration used terracotta paneling which was supplied by James Campbell & Sons of Albion. It is thought that Watts was the designer and modeller of this form of terracotta because during that period his name is associated with a number of commercial premises being constructed in Brisbane.
Many experienced modellers find the OO standard produces a "narrow gauge" appearance when the model is viewed head on. Greater accuracy is possible using either EM gauge or the closer-to-exact scale P4 track. Whilst flextrack is available for both EM and P4 gauges (from manufacturers such as C&L; Finescale, SMP and The P4 Track Company), ready-to-run (RTR) point and crossing (P&C;) work is not available, so this trackwork must be constructed by the modeller. Kits for doing this are also available from the aforementioned sources amongst others.
Tan-Che-Qua was probably born in Guangdong in China, around 1728. He became an artist and clay modeller in Canton, making clay portrait figures. In his middle years, Tan-Che-Qua arrived in London from Canton on 11 August 1769 on the East Indiaman Horsendon. The Chinese authorities had given him permission to travel to Batavia (now Jakarta), but he went to England instead. He lived in lodgings on the Strand, where he worked as a clay modeler, creating busts for 10 guineas and small statuettes for 15 guineas.

Melbourne-Thomas is a marine ecologist and knowledge broker. Her research focuses on bridging the gap between complex scientific research and decision-making for sustainability, particularly in relation to climate change adaptation. She worked as an ecosystem modeller and science communicator with the Australian Antarctic Division, and was a lead author for the IPCC's Special Report on Oceans and Cryosphere in a Changing Climate. Melbourne-Thomas is highly engaged in science communication and the translation of science into decision-making, including through outreach to end-users and policy briefings.
Perhaps his most famous design was "Minories", a plan for a compact suburban terminus built on a folding baseboard. The layout was based loosely on the Metropolitan station at Liverpool Street and packed a great deal of operating potential into a modest layout that could easily be built by a relatively inexperienced modeller. Originally published in 1957, innumerable layouts have been built following its simple but elegant design. In 2007 the Diesel and Electric Modellers United (DEMU) ran a small layout competition to celebrate the 50th anniversary of the plan's publication.
Unicorn on top of Glasgow's Mercat Cross, modelled by Findlay Findlay was born at Glenlivet in Banffshire and trained at the Glasgow School of Art under Archibald Dawson between 1920 and 1925. After graduation she taught at the Beacon School at Bridge of Allan and then at Hillhead High School in Glasgow. Findlay was the modeller for the Mercat cross in Glasgow, carving the wooden animals. The Mercat Cross is considered a significant artistic triumph for Scottish women, as Findlay worked on it with Edith Burnet Hughes, the first practising female architect in Scotland.

Having a formal ontology at your disposal, especially when it consists of a Formal upper layer enriched with concrete domain-independent 'middle layer' concepts, can really aid the creation of a domain specific ontology. It allows the modeller to focus on the content of the domain specific ontology without having to worry on the exact higher structure or abstract philosophical framework that gives his ontology a rigid backbone. Disjoint axioms at the higher level will prevent many of the commonly made ontological mistakes made when creating the detailed layer of the ontology.
The modeller searches for an underlying signature of sport performance, which is a reliable predictor of future sport behaviour. Stochastic models have not yet, to our knowledge, been used further to investigate sport at the behavioural level of analysis. However, the modelling procedure is readily applicable to other sports and could lead to useful and interesting results. Once notational analysis systems are used to collect amounts of data that are sufficiently large enough to define 'norms' of behaviour, then all the ensuing outcomes of the work are based upon the principles of modelling.
After structure modeling, an additional step of structure validation is necessary since many of both comparative and 'de novo' modeling algorithms and tools use heuristics to try assembly the 3D structure, which can generate many errors. Some validation strategies consist of calculating energy scores and comparing them with experimentally determined structures. For example, the DOPE score is an energy score used by the MODELLER tool for determining the best model. Another validation strategy is calculating φ and ψ backbone dihedral angles of all residues and construct a Ramachandran plot.

The train is formed of two modified former KiHa 47 diesel cars, renumbered KiRoShi 47 9176 (car 1) and KiRoShi 47 3505 (car 2), and is intended to replicate the design and ambience of the luxury Brill coaches purchased by the Kyushu Railway in 1908. The purchase occurred just before the company was nationalized under the Railway Nationalization Act) and the car was never put into service. The rebuilding project was overseen by industrial designer Eiji Mitooka, using scale models of the original coaches built by the railway modeller Nobutaro Hara.

The same chassis was used for the engine driven models "Advance" and "Assault" These were popular models at the time but not near as popular as the original Scorpion. In 2012 Kyosho presented a new model using the Scorpion name: the Kyosho Scorpion XXL. It is a 1/7th scale rear wheel drive dune buggy available in both brushless and glow powered RTR options as well as a kit that can be built either way and swapped as the modeller desires.
Mirai is a 3D creation and editing suite available originally from Nichimen Graphics Corporation, later from Winged Edge Technologies, and currently from Izware. The modeller uses the winged edge data structure, is written in Common Lisp, and traces its lineage to the S-Geometry software from Symbolics.Symbolics' legacy in MiraiComments on Symbolics legacy @ Hacker News It has been used primarily by game developers and high-end character animators—for example by Bay Raitt's facial morph targets for the Gollum character in The Lord of the Rings film trilogy.
However 5.5mm scale remained in use and, following an article on the Gwynant Valley Railway by Malcolm Savage in Railway Modeller, October 1984, the 5.5mm Association was formed. The tooling for the GEM kits was purchased by Malcolm Savage in 1996 and he has now reintroduced and upgraded the range.Malcolm Savage Kits: Trade support Worsley Works has also produced "scratch aids" for the scale. More recently, 3D printing techniques have expanded the range of available models even further, while in the USA there's a quietly flourishing 3' gauge modelling fraternity, using OO track and mechanisms.
Godden, 125, 127 Another group is called "Hughes-type", after James Hughes, a modeller. Most of the surface has moulded low relief with small and rather vague plant shapes, leaves and garlands. Areas left with a flat surface are painted in underglaze blue in a Chinese style, typically a circular or oval space in the centre of the sides, where landscape scenes are painted, and borders at top and perhaps bottom, painted with floral or geometric motifs. These are mostly dated to the first decade or so of the factory.
Ledward was born in Burslem, Staffordshire, in 1857; he was a son of Richard Perry Ledward, of the firm Pinder, Bourne & Co. of Burslem. Ledward was employed as modeller by that firm, and studied in the Burslem School of Art; on obtaining a national scholarship he continued his studies at the South Kensington School of Art. There he obtained a gold medal for modelling from the life, and was appointed a master of modelling. Subsequently he became modelling master at the Westminster School of Art and Blackheath School of Art.
Light was born in England in 1820, a son of music teacher Thomas Light, and christened at St Andrews Church, Clifton, on 18 September 1820. He was employed in the fields of musical instrument maker and technician, optician, modeller and engineering draftsman, as well as being a more than competent keyboard player. He emigrated to South Australia, ship unknown, arriving in 1848 or early 1849. He married Marian Wilson in September 1850 at St Matthew's Church of England, Kensington; they would have six children, of whom four survived infancy.
A model that is weathered would not fit as many layouts as a pristine model which can be weathered by its purchaser. There are many weather techniques that include, but are not limited to, painting (by either drybrushing or an airbrush), sanding, breaking, and even the use of chemicals to cause corrosion. Some processes become very creative depending on the skill of the modeller. For instance several steps may be taken to create a rusting effect to ensure not only proper colouring, but also proper texture and lustre.
He took the equipment and about 40 key workers, including Giuseppe Gricci (c. 1700–1770), the main modeller, and nearly five tons of porcelain paste. Since the paste, the main artists, and the fleur-de- lys factory mark, were all used by both factories, distinguishing between their products from the years around the move can be very difficult. In the late 1890s, Feldon started his own studio in Cornfield Road, Eastbourne, East Essex where he advertised himself as an architectural sculptor and modeller in marble, stone, cement, and wood. His work included the carving on the Lewes Old Bank and the new St. Peter's Church, Eastbourne.
OpenSCAD is a free software application for creating solid 3D CAD (computer- aided design) objects. It is a script-only based modeller that uses its own description language; parts can be previewed, but cannot be interactively selected or modified by mouse in the 3D view. An OpenSCAD script specifies geometric primitives (such as spheres, boxes, cylinders, etc.) and defines how they are modified and combined (for instance by intersection, difference, envelope combination and Minkowski sums) to render a 3D model. As such, the program does constructive solid geometry (CSG).
He is widely regarded as the finest modeller of porcelain in the Rococo style: "if the art of European porcelain finds its most perfect expression in the rococo style, so the style finds its most perfect expression in the work of Bustelli". Bustelli was born in Locarno in Italian-speaking Switzerland, and died in Munich, Bavaria, just after his 40th birthday. Few details of his life are known, but he trained as a sculptor, probably mostly in wood,Campbell, Grove in Italy. He spoke and wrote German fluently, and may have grown up in Bavaria.

Phytoplankton also gather in huge swarms called blooms, although these organisms are algae and are not self-propelled the way animals are. By extension, the term "swarm" is applied also to inanimate entities which exhibit parallel behaviours, as in a robot swarm, an earthquake swarm, or a swarm of stars. From a more abstract point of view, swarm behaviour is the collective motion of a large number of self-propelled entities. From the perspective of the mathematical modeller, it is an emergent behaviour arising from simple rules that are followed by individuals and does not involve any central coordination.
The factory's renown was in great part due to the ingenuity of Kändler, a court sculptor who became chief modeller for Meissen and worked there for 42 years. The service, which originally consisted of over 960 pieces, was presented to the Prussian Major-General (later Field-Marshal) Wichard Joachim Heinrich von Möllendorf (1724–1816), as a reward for his military achievements during Frederick II's Seven Years' War (1756–63) against Austria for possession of Silesia. Divided up in the 19th century, groups of the Möllendorff Dinner Service are now held in both public and private collections worldwide.
Issues of enemy technical capability and military philosophy will also affect any model used. Whilst a modeller with sufficiently high security clearance and access to the relevant data can expect to create a reasonably accurate picture of his own nation's military capacity, creating a similarly detailed picture for a potential adversary may be extremely difficult. Military information, from technical specifications of weapons systems to tactical doctrine, is high on the list of any nation's most closely guarded secrets. However, the difficulty of discovering the unknown, when it is at least known that it exists, seems trivial compared to discovering the unguessed.
Murphy was born in Castlemaine, Victoria, Australia, the tenth child and eldest son of Irish-born Edwin Murphy (plasterer and clay modeller), and his English wife Ellen, née Greenslade. He was educated at a state school at South Melbourne and began employment with his father at an early age. Murphy developed a good tenor voice, and joined the J. C. Williamson Opera Company, sang in the chorus and toured with it for two or three years. Following the gold rush of 1892 Murphy went to Western Australia, arriving in Coolgardie in 1894 after walking from Perth, Western Australia.
The modeller can also choose from a wide range of plastic, white metal and etched brass kit manufacturers such as Dundas Models, Meridian Models, Mercian Models, GEM, Rodney Stenning, Worsley works, Narrow Planet, Nigel Lawton etc. Many of these companies attend narrow gauge focussed exhibitions - a diary of events is available to all on the OO9 society website (link below). Some modellers also adapt models originally made for OO or utilise scratch building techniques. Many OO9 modellers also use H0e equipment, which although built for 3.5mm scale, not 4mm, is often close enough to work alongside OO9.
Keene left Drury Lane in the 1870s during the management of F. B. Chatterton, and set up as a freelance stage designer and modeller with a workshop behind his own house at Milton Street, Wandsworth Road, Clapham (not Wandsworth, as has persistently been repeated). One episode stands out during this last stage of his career, when he was commissioned to supply mechanical animals for the first cycle of Richard Wagner’s Ring at Bayreuth in 1876. The background to this prestigious commission is peculiar. Wagner had strong ideas about stage effects in his operas, but often wavered between realism and suggestion.
William Theed (1764–1817), called William Theed the elder, was an English sculptor and painter, the father of William Theed the younger, also a sculptor. He was trained at the Royal Academy Schools in 1786 and began a career in painting. After a tour with other artists of Italy (where he reportedly got married) he returned to England and worked as a modeller for Wedgwood from 1800 to 1804, and then for the silversmiths Rundell and Bridge from 1804 to 1817. He was elected an associate of the Royal Academy in 1811 and as Royal Academician in 1813.
Dell 1992. In ill health, he retired in 1764, selling his workshop to his eldest son, Bernard III, on 18 October— it was reduced to three workbenches— and died soon thereafter. Bernard III van Risamburgh continued his workshop, but without success; he was recorded as a modeller in plaster at the time of his death, in 1799/1800. Since Bernard II's gilt-bronze furniture mounts are of distinctive designs, not ordinarily seen on furniture by other ébénistes, it is often speculated what role the younger Van Risamburgh, never admitted to the guild of menuisiers-ébénistes,Dell 1992:294 played in their production.
Bored of Studies is an Australian website targeted at students in New South Wales and Victoria. It is prominent among students for its Student Assessment Modeller that calculates approximate Australian Tertiary Admission Rank (formerly Universities Admission Index) or Equivalent National Tertiary Entrance Rank results, and for hosting study notes for the New South Wales Higher School Certificate courses. An extensive student community has evolved around its forum, which is frequented by school students, teachers and a growing number of university students. The site's name is a parody of the NSW Board of Studies, the former governing organisation for the Higher School Certificate (HSC).
Nelson Pediment, Old Royal Naval College, Greenwich Joseph Panzetta was an Italian sculptor and modeller who worked in England from c.1787–1830 and exhibited at Royal Academy from 1789–1810. He worked for Mrs Eleanor Coade at her Coade Ornamental Stone Manufactory for over 26 years and modelled in Lithodipyra (Coade stone). His finest and most significant works include: the Admiral Lord Nelson's Pediment at the Royal Naval College, Greenwich; and the 5.2 metre statue of Lord Rowland Hill, 1st Viscount Hill, in Shrewsbury that stands atop Lord Hill's Column, the tallest Doric column in Great Britain.
He afterwards went to Rome, and was much employed as a bust modeller. He died of cholera in that city in August 1837. According to an account in The Art Journal he was a person 'of sterling character and generous impulses, who sacrificed his life in devotion to those of his friends who had been seized with cholera.' Though 'every way superior to his brother as a man,' he was, says the same writer, 'his inferior as an artist' ... 'the difference in the instant apprehension of form and manipulative power in the two brothers was very remarkable.
In 2019 the design changed to an 35 level office building with retail at ground level. Some elements of the building were carefully removed by Whelan the Wrecker; three of the four female statues by modeller Charles William Scurry were relocated to the then new Chateau Commodore in Lonsdale Street, and when that changed hands over 20 years later, they were donated to the McClelland Sculpture Park and Gallery in Langwarrin outside Frankston, Victoria in 1996, and a panel of the cast iron stair balustrade (with 'FCP' in the pattern) was donated by Myles Whelan to the Museum of Victoria in 1992.

Many modellers build dioramas as landscaped scenes built around one or more models. They are most common for military vehicles such as tanks, but airfield scenes and 2-3 ships in formation are also popular. Conversions use a kit as a starting point, and modify it to be something else. For instance, kits of the USS Constitution ("Old Ironsides") are readily available, but the Constitution was just one of six sister ships, and an ambitious modeller will modify the kit, by sawing, filing, adding pieces, and so forth, to make a model of one of the others.
In general, open-source games are developed by relatively small groups of people in their free time, with profit not being the main focus. Many open-source games are volunteer-run projects, and as such, developers of free games are often hobbyists and enthusiasts. The consequence of this is that open-source games often take longer to mature, are less common and often lack the production value of commercial titles. In the past (before the 2000s) a challenge to build high-quality content for games was the missing availability or the excessive price for tools like 3D modeller or toolsets for level design.
Many layout builders are choosing digital operation of their layouts rather than the more traditional DC design. The industry standard command system is Digital Command Control (DCC). The advantages to DCC are that track voltage is constant (usually in the range of 20 volts AC) and the command throttle sends a signal to small circuit cards, or decoders, hidden inside the piece of equipment which control several functions of an individual locomotive, including speed, direction of travel, lights, smoke and various sound effects. This allows more realistic operation in that the modeller can operate independently several locomotives on the same stretch of track.
"Goblin with mushrooms" by David Goode (at Sausmarez Manor sculpture trail, 2011) David Goode (born October 1966, in Oxford) is a British sculptor. He attended the Sir Henry Doulton School of Sculpture in Stoke-on-Trent and specialized in portraits and figurative work. In 1988, at the age of 21, he started work as a portrait sculptor at Madame Tussauds in London, making him the youngest ever waxwork modeller to have worked for Madame Tussauds. Some of his waxworks at the museum include Freddie Mercury, Joan Collins, Madonna, Michael Jackson, George Michael, Ronald Reagan, Arnold Schwarzenegger and Yasser Arafat.
There are no other rigid track components. Plain track is supplied in 3 foot (914 mm) lengths (2 foot for Z gauge), to be cut to length as required. It is flexible (laterally), allowing the modeller to use it for straight track or any radius curve, to suit the needs of the model. The Streamline range is supplied with different types of rail, identified by code numbers indicating the height of the rail in thousands-of-an-inch. For 00/H0 track, 'Code 100' rail is the original type, and is designed for older ready-to-run models.
Albert Hemstock Hodge (17 July 1875 – 31 December 1917 or 27 January 1918McKay, James, The Dictionary of Sculptors in Bronze, Antique Collectors Club, London, 1995) was a Scottish born sculptor. Hodge was born at Port Ellen, on the island of Islay and he studied at the Glasgow School of Art under William Kellock Brown. Initially he worked as an architect with William Leiper, but his ability as a modeller led him to continue his career as a sculptor. His works include a statue (in Glasgow) of Queen Victoria and a statue (in Stirling) of Robert Burns.
Almost 20 years after learning from him at school, McConnell began working on a documentary about Schotz, his old sculpture teacher. The film was released in 1973 entitled Benno Schotz: Sculptor and Modeller and depicts him working at his studio in Glasgow talking about his own working methods, as well as his past experience in engineering. McConnell continued to make films up until he died, some experimental, many about trains - which he loved. Of particular note is McConnell's A Line for All Seasons (1981) narrated by the actor John Shedden, which shows the history of Scotland's West Highland Railway Line.
Traditional modelers tend to stick to the more common 1:72-1:32 scales leaving the other sizes to the gamers. As with all things, quality and price vary from manufacturer to manufacturer and the end result of a model is often limited by its initial quality. Today many new model manufacturers take great lengths to make 1:72, 1:48, 1:35 and 1:32 scale models as highly detailed and realistic as possible. This, unfortunately, makes many of the older, still existing sets, less desirable for diorama making but still fun to build, especially as starter kits for a less experienced modeller.
Walter E. Mooney (June 6, 1925 – March 1, 1990) was a MIT educated engineer, aircraft designer, pilot and model aircraft designer who lived in San Diego, California. He was well known professionally for his full scale aircraft efforts for Convair division of General Dynamics but more popularly known for the many plans and articles published in the magazines Model Airplane News, Boys' Life, and Aero Modeller in the 1960s. He was once featured as a daredevil glider pilot on the 1973 TV series Thrill Seekers. He designed the ROHR Two-175 Experimental Aircraft almost put in production to compete against the Cessna 172 in 1971.
In a Conversation Article, Mathieu Mongin, a biogeochemical modeller at CSIRO and colleagues mapped parts of the Great Barrier Reef that are most exposed to ocean acidification. This map of pH on the Great Barrier Reef presents the exposure to ocean acidification on each of the 3,581 reefs, providing managers with the information they need to tailor management to individual reefs. The Great Barrier Reef is not a singular reef nor a physical barrier that prevents exchange between reefs; it is a mixture of thousands of productive reefs and shallow areas lying on a continental shelf with complex oceanic circulation.The Great Barrier Reef is important for world life.
Lesley Brooker is an Australian ornithologist based in Western Australia following retirement from a career with the CSIRO's Division of Wildlife Research. There she worked, as a database manager and computer modeller, on developing methodologies for the re-design and restoration of agricultural lands for bird conservation. Since then she has collaborated with her husband Michael Brooker in studies on cuckoo evolution, population ecology of fairy- wrens and spatial dynamics of birds in fragmented landscapes. In 2004 she was awarded, jointly with her husband Michael, the Royal Australasian Ornithologists Union's D.L. Serventy Medal which recognizes excellence in published work on birds in the Australasian region.
Noted art critic Paul George Konody described the book as "remarkable and enthralling", and said that Stokes "makes words blossom as the marble blossomed under the chisel of some Renaissance sculptor".Janet Sayers, Art, Psychoanalysis, and Adrian Stokes: A Biography (2018), p. 81. Stones of Rimini (1934) tightens and focuses these organicist themes, further psychologises the artistic process, and establishes thereby one of Stokes's most central themes: the duality of 'carving-modelling'. A fine 'carver' allows the form to come to life through the medium of the stone; the 'modeller' - on the other hand - sees the medium as so much stuff on which to impose a preconceived idea.
Attempts to make finer tyre and flange standards were thwarted initially by the overscale rail sections available commercially, it being impractical for an individual modeller to make smaller rails – although some did attempt to, by cutting down commercial rail. Smaller flange and tyre dimensions were also unsuccessful, as the narrow tyres tended to detach from the wheel centres. More critically, small flanges required comparably smaller rail, trackwork gaps and point frogs in order to work reliably. Wheelset standards did become more fine in time, allowing EM to evolve into gauge track (for a while called EEM gauge until it was adopted into the mainstream standard).
It was Bullers' intention to sell these wares to Heals in London and so when there were enough prototypes ready, Agnete herself went to see the Heals buyers. They liked the pots but immediately asked her to produce a range of porcelain animal models in similar colours, explaining that there was a market for such items in the USA. As the confidence of the directors at Bullers increased she was allowed to choose assistants for the studio. The first one to arrive on the recommendation of Gordon Forsyth in 1943 was James Rushton, 15 years old, who was employed in the first place to be modeller and caster.
Bartolini was born in Savignano di Prato, near Prato, Tuscany. After studying at the Florentine Academy of Fine Arts, honing his skills and reputation as a modeller in alabaster, he went in 1797 to Paris, where he studied painting under Jean-Baptiste Frédéric Desmarais, and afterwards sculpture under François-Frédéric Lemot. The bas-relief Cleobis and Biton, with which he gained the second prize of the Academy in 1803, at once established his fame as a sculptor and gained for him a number of influential patrons. His bas- relief of the Battle of Austerlitz was among those executed for the column erected in Place Vendôme.

After Farmer and Brindley, Hitch was employed by the sculptor Thomas Nicholls, one of whose projects was work at Lord Bute’s Cardiff Castle for the architect William Burges. Burges was responsible for considerable renovation to the castle, which included nine animal sculptures built into what was called the Animal Wall which was completed by Nicholls possibly with Hitch's assistance. Hitch's career spanned the years 1871 to 1935 and although he considered himself primarily as an architectural sculptor, he was also a mason, sculptor, sculptor's modeller and church decorator. For most of his life he ran a small business in Battersea in Greater London, employing several highly skilled masons.
Shanks early work was focused on so-called hidden-variables theory of non-relativistic elementary quantum mechanics, and the problem of the construction of classical models (models exhibiting the properties of determinateness and determinism) for quantum measurement statistics. Shanks argued that the various no-hidden-variables proofs rested on questionable assumptions which a classical modeller could plausibly deny. The original was commissioned 1734–5 in London by Henry Jernegan (Jerningham) of Russell Street, a London goldsmith-banker, whose client, Littleton Poyntz Meynell, wanted to have the largest ever silver wine cistern ever to have been made. Jernegan employed the sculptor John Michael Rysbrack to model the Bacchanalian scenes on the bowl, the crouching panthers beneath and the satyr handles. It took a team of silversmiths, chasers and engravers four years to make and weighed 8,000 ozs. The leading silversmith, whose mark is struck on the cistern, was the German immigrant, Charles Kandler (probably Carl Rudolf Kaendler, elder brother of the famous Meissen porcelain modeller).
Otherwise known as an ab initio method, non-template based approaches use a statistical model to fill in the gaps created by the unknown loop structure. Some of these programs include MODELLER, Loopy, and RAPPER; but each of these programs approaches the problem in a different manner. For example, Loopy uses samples of torsion angle pairs to generate the initial loop structure then it revises this structure to maintain a realistic shape and closure, while RAPPER builds from one end of the gap to the other by extending the stem with different sampled angles until the gap is closed. Yet another method is the “divide and conquer” approach.
Wedgwood's slightly younger friend, William Greatbatch, had followed a similar career path, training with Whieldon and then starting his own firm around 1762. He was a fine modeller, especially of moulds for tablewares, and probably did most of Wedgwood's earlier moulds as an outside contractor. After some twenty years, Greatbatch's firm went under in 1782, and by 1786 he was a Wedgwood employee, continuing for over twenty years until he retired in 1807, on generous terms specified in Wedgwood's will. In the early period he seems also to have acted as agent for Wedgwood on trips to London,Dolan, 82-83, 101, 129 and after Wedgwood's retirement he may have in effect managed the Etruria works.
Jacques Bagnall was born in 1762 at Burslem in the heart of the Staffordshire Potteries; in 1784 he was in France, working as a modeller in the manufactory of "English stoneware" (grès anglais) at Douai. For a time he directed the manufactory of porcelain at Chantilly for its owner, Christopher Potter, before taking on the direction of the pottery at Creil in 1802. As director of design at Creil he was responsible for a splendid body of work, sometimes copying the neoclassical styles of Wedgwood and other fashionable English makers. A table service of black stoneware (grès noir) like the black jasperware of Wedgwood can be seen at the museum at Creil.
At the same time he was employed by the Danish sculptor Bertel Thorvaldsen, for whom he created reliefs for the Walhalla in Regensburg. Mayer also created part of the memorial for Eugène de Beauharnais, stepson of Napoleon's stepson and son-in-law of King Maximilian I of Bavaria, which had been designed by Klenze and was completed by Thorvaldsen. The two genii at the bottom of the monument are by Mayer. Back in Munich, Mayer continued restoring antique statues, but also created sculptures of his own, including the pediment figures for the Glyptothek building, among them three antique artists representing the crafts that Mayer himself practised: the modeller (Koroplastes), the bronze caster (Statuarius) and the stone sculptor (Glyptos).
The gallery had a monumental, neo-classical stone-built front, and three exhibition rooms on the first floor, with a total of more than of wall space for displaying pictures. Boydell ran up large debts in producing his Shakespeare engravings, and obtained an Act of Parliament in 1804 to dispose of the gallery and other property by lottery. The main prize winner, William Tassie, a modeller and maker of replica engraved gems, then sold the gallery property and contents at auction. When the British Institution took possession, they also retained a sculptural group on the façade by Thomas Banks, which had been intended to be used as a monument on Boydell's tomb.
As far as natural history specimens, the museum housed the collections rearranged by Targioni Tozzetti, including Pier Antonio Micheli's herbaria and the collections of Dutch naturalist Georg Everhard Rumph and Danish physician and geologist Niels Steensen. The engagement of wax modeller Clemente Susini made it possible to create a great lot of anatomical wax models portraying human body's musculature, internal organs, bones, the eye, the ear, and the nose. Six rooms were needed to display the many wax models. The collection first core was enlarged in the following years with new exhibits that were made—first for studying reasons, then especially for educational reasons—by the workshops that were housed in the Torrigiani Palace since the Reale Museum's beginnings.
Mount Trickett may well have been named after Oliver Trickett L.S. M.S., as he was the Licensed Surveryor, mapper and modeller of the Jenolan Caves over twenty years in the late 1800s to early 1900s, (along with surveying and mapping most other major limestone caves in NSW, and surveying, mapping and modelling the mining loads of NSW, chief being the Broken Hill silver, lead and zinc load). This work was conducted whilst in the employ as Surveyor for the NSW Department of Lands and Mining Surveyor for the NSW Department of Mines. He became the chief superintendent of Jenolan Caves in terms of overseeing all access improvements at Jenolan in the early 1900s.
Roy Noakes Portrait - limestone carved limestone, 1960s, private collection Roy Noakes became a modeller by what was paradoxically the most efficient route - through his training as a carver. His achievement, driven by a refusal to be constrained by technique or bound by what he had learned, was based on his consummate skills as a craftsman.Harrison ‘Roy Noakes’ He was born in Stepney in 1936, and although as a dyslexic he was unresponsive to formal education in the local secondary school, he was encouraged to draw by his father (who died when Roy was twelve). He was, fortuitously, apprenticed aged fifteen to the monumental masons, Anselm Odling, and ‘learned to carve roses and angels’.
Eleanor Coade developed her own talent as a modeller, exhibiting around 30 sculptures on classical themes at the Society of Artists between 1773 and 1780 as listed in their exhibitors catalogue of the time.Miss Eleanor Coade, Sculptor in the exhibitors catalogue of the Society of Arts, London After her death, her Coade stoneware was used for refurbishments to Buckingham Palace and by noted sculptors in their monumental work, such as William Frederick Woodington's South Bank Lion (1837) on Westminster Bridge, London. The statue was made in separate parts and sealed together on an iron frame. The century produced its women sculptors in the East, Seiyodo Bunshojo (1764-1838) a Japanese netsuke carver and Haiku writer.
The first printed 'Bizarre' backstamp used on Clarice Cliff ware from 1928 to early 1936 in various styles. Cliff was given a second apprenticeship at A. J. Wilkinson's in 1924 (when she was already 25 years old) primarily as a 'modeller' but she also worked with the factory designers John Butler and Fred Ridgway. A clay modeller for Ford Motor Company in Irvine, California, Nic Case took up radio-controlled cars in 1990 following a motorcycle accident. At the inaugural "World's Fastest RC Car Challenge" event organized by Radio Control Car Action, he posted a speed of , surpassing the world record held by Team Associated's Cliff Lett in 2001. He later used a Schumacher Mi3 as a base, the car powered by a R/C aircraft motor and a 12-cell battery pack. The car also had a four-wheel drive system of his own design for improved traction and his own tires, which were vulcanized to the aluminum rims, to improve airflow underneath the vehicle.
As can be seen, Monte Carlo Methods are particularly useful in the valuation of options with multiple sources of uncertainty or with complicated features, which would make them difficult to value through a straightforward Black–Scholes-style or lattice based computation. The technique is thus widely used in valuing path dependent structures like lookback- and Asian optionsRich Tanenbaum: Battle of the Pricing Models: Trees vs Monte Carlo and in real options analysis. Additionally, as above, the modeller is not limited as to the probability distribution assumed. Conversely, however, if an analytical technique for valuing the option exists—or even a numeric technique, such as a (modified) pricing tree—Monte Carlo methods will usually be too slow to be competitive.
A seated figure of Peter the Great of Russia survives, made by an Italian artist, after the Tsar was impressed by the figures he saw at the Chateau of Versailles. The Danish court painter Johann Salomon Wahl executed figures of the Danish king and queen in about 1740.Taylor, 37 The 'Moving Wax Works of the Royal Court of England', a museum or exhibition of 140 life-size figures, some apparently with clockwork moving parts, opened by Mrs Mary in Fleet Street in London was doing excellent business in 1711. Philippe Curtius, waxwork modeller to the French court, opened his Cabinet de Cire as a tourist attraction in Paris in 1770, which remained open until 1802.
He has been described by John Sandon as "probably the finest English modeller of all time"Sandon 1993, p.123 Able to work in any form or style required, he is best known for his decorative figures, made in the 1870s and 1880s, when taste was shifting towards coloured models from the previous fashion for plain white Parian Ware. One of his most famous works was the "Aesthetic Teapot", modelled for Worcester after a design by R.W. Binns. Satirising Oscar Wilde and the aesthetic movement, it is formed as a soulful young man wearing a sunflower on one side, and lovelorn maiden with lily on the other; despite its sculptural form, it still functioned as a teapot.
Some ready to run models are produced in this scale but most are available only as kits for assembly by the modeller or a professional model-builder. O gauge is considered an expensive scale to model in although the necessarily smaller scope of a larger-scaled layout mitigates this to some extent. The two dominant British manufacturers, Bassett-Lowke and Hornby, ceased production of O gauge trains in 1965 and 1969, respectively. However, ACE Trains and for a while a revived Bassett-Lowke are once again producing tinplate O gauge sets, many of them reproductions of classic Hornby and Bassett-Lowke designs, and Heljan also recently joined the market producing O gauge Diesel locomotives.
With the older, and far more prolific, modeller Johann Joachim Kaendler of Meissen, Bustelli is the outstanding figure of Rococo porcelain, and his best work has a unique grace, energy, drama and often wit. His figures are thoroughly designed in the round, meant to be appreciated from all angles. The bases are unusually thin, and often include scroll-work that integrates elegantly with the figures. Some subjects are drawn from engravings, and many seem to show the influence of the conventional theatrical gestures of the period.Savage, 156 He was not very highly paid, and his possessions at his death included furniture and personal effects, some of his own figures, 228 engravings, and 31 books on chemistry.

Some of the casts made by museum modeller James Drury were displayed in the South African Museum from 1911 but without any contextualisation or acknowledgement of the Bushmen's complex social and cultural networks. With accompanying museum labels in which they were continually referred to in the past tense, the Bushmen were consigned to history and extinction. It was only in the late 1950s that Drury's casts were given any contextualisation in the form of the Bushman Diorama when they were displayed in an invented cultural setting based on an early nineteenth-century painting by Samuel Daniell. However, the newly revised label once again emphasised the narrative of extinction and lacked any historical contextualisation or information about the Bushmen's individual histories.

A more recent expansion applies the spatial-restraint model to electron density maps derived from cryoelectron microscopy studies, which provide low-resolution information that is not usually itself sufficient to generate atomic-resolution structural models. To address the problem of inaccuracies in initial target-template sequence alignment, an iterative procedure has also been introduced to refine the alignment on the basis of the initial structural fit.
