He is a recipient of the 2010/2011 Berlin Prize Fellowship from the American Academy in Berlin.

Lowboy and tallboy were favorite pieces of the 18th century, both in England and in the United States; the lowboy was most frequently used as a dressing-table, but sometimes as a side-table. It is usually made of oak, walnut or mahogany, with the drawer- fronts mounted with brass pulls and escutcheons. The more elegant examples in the Queen Anne, early Georgian, and Chippendale styles often have cabriole legs, carved knees, and slipper or claw-and-ball feet.

The M123 & M125 were standardized military design 10-ton off-road 6x6 semi tractors and artillery prime movers. Designed by Mack, they used many components from the NO series. A LeRoi T-H844 overhead valve V8 cylinder gasoline engine developed at 2600 rpm. Mack built 392 M123s, used with a lowboy trailer to recover and transport tanks, and all 552 M125s, between 1955 and 1957.

He often with several artists from Toulouse: the designer Georges Soutiras; the painter Marc Saint-Saëns; and sculptors painters Joseph Monin and Henry Parayre. There are two guiding posts on either side of the machine, with hydraulic cylinders inside of them. The guiding posts protect the hydraulic cylinders from external interference. The hydraulic cylinders are what is used to apply pressure to the car, with a crusher hood to spread the pressure evenly and crush the entirety of the car. A heavy-duty lowboy trailer is attached to the bottom of the mobile car crusher and can be transported only using a semi- trailer truck.

Lowboy semi- trailer The ballast tractor for a drawbar trailer must be comparable in weight to its load if it is to have traction, which means that the total weight of the tractor-trailer combination might be as much as twice the useful load. By using a semi-trailer instead, some of the load's weight is instead carried by the tractor. This avoids the need to ballast the tractor, making a greater proportion of the total weight available for the load. Semi-trailers cannot be moved on their own, or pushed and pulled by ballast tractors.

They are only mobile when connected to the correct tractor unit, which can limit their use in recovery. The simplest semi-trailer is "half of a trailer", having wheels at the rear only and an articulated connection to the tractor unit. A strong metal post or kingpin on the trailer fits into a socket or fifth wheel on the tractor. Lowboy semi-trailers are commonly used to keep the load's center of mass low, as they have a low horizontal bed, with a gooseneck that rises up at the front to connect to the tractor unit.

For longer distances the Karl-Gerät was disassembled using a special mobile crane into seven loads. The chassis was loaded onto a six-axle Culemeyer-Strassenroller lowboy trailer. The other parts of the gun were lighter and used four-axle trailers.

In 1956, Norton development engineer Doug Hele was tasked with creating a 500 cc overhead valve road-based racing machine to challenge the larger-displacement side valve 750 Harley Davidsons run in the same class at AMA-organised Daytona 200 races. Initially unsuccessful, the project was turned into creating a road-based race engine as a replacement for the ageing Manx Norton racer engine. Hele designed a lighter-weight, lower frame with slightly shorter wheelbase, based on Featherbed principles having slightly altered frame runs and shortened telescopic front forks which became known as Lowboy. The project was named Domiracer, and one was successfully raced to third-place by Tom Phillis in the 1961 Senior TT race.

Used on roads, tank transporters reduce the wear and tear on tracks and the other components of the powertrains of tracked vehicles. All engines in the fleet have the twin "ditch" gauge lights on each end as well. Up until the year 2009 the company also used a former Louisville & Nashville Railroad bay window caboose that's road number was SAN 60 but it was retired as the company didn't want to have to keep its old friction bearing axles constantly serviced and FRA Certified. It was taken through downtown Sandersville, Georgia during the October of year 2009 "Kaolin Festival Parade" on the back of a lowboy tuck trailer in place of the railroad's normally used steam engine "General" parade float. After this, it was offloaded by mobile cranes back onto the tracks at the bulk transfer yard and then carried back to the Sandersville Yard by one of the locomotives to be parked behind 3 former Illinois Central Railroad wide-vision cupola cabooses owned by the company.

Founded in 1983 to rival Thrasher magazine with a slogan of "skate and create" as opposed to "skate and destroy", TWS was intended as a more accessible alternative to Thrasher Magazine. For example, a December 1982 Thrasher article, "Skate and Destroy" written by C. R. Stecyk III under the pen name "Lowboy", was criticized. A February 1983 advertisement for Independent Trucks, featured a topless female model with the brand's decals displayed on her breasts. The public release of Transworld Skateboarding occurred under the ownership of Peggy Cozens and Larry Balma, owner of the Tracker Trucks brand. Initially, the magazine's editorial teams were known collectively as the "United Skate Front", and Balma later spoke of the magazine’s beginnings as a reaction to Thrasher, explaining in a 2003 Union-Tribune interview: "They were pretty harsh, sex and drugs and using four-letter words and all that and in the early '80s, the sport started growing and [Thrasher] wasn't the best magazine for young kids".

With no front downtube(s) hence no conventional engine mountings, the spine frame needed substantial cantilever bracing from the central-point of the frame forwards under the gearbox and engine to control the torque reaction The original 'drainpipe' configuration included aluminium dual 'pannier' fuel tanks inside the top-half fairing sides to lower the centre of gravity and improve handling but following fuel starvation problems a conventional fuel tank was fitted. With discontinuation of the featherbed Atlas in 1968, Dunstall first offered his Commando-based roadsters from the 1969 catalogue.
