Interior indulgence comes courtesy of Aston's talented craftspeople, who create wood and composite marquetry, knurl metal knobs, and handily "brogue" leather — piercing it in a constellation pattern, as on a wingtip shoe, to allow subtle sub-dermal contrasting colors to come through.

Knurl is the noise music project of Alan Bloor, Canadian experimental composer and sculptor. Based in Toronto, Ontario, Bloor has been performing and recording Knurl material since 1994, when his seminal harsh noise releases "Nervescrap" and "Initial Shock" were recorded and released. He has released over twenty albums internationally, and has collaborated with sound sculptors such as Jim O'Rourke, Thurston Moore, and Aube.

Press-in studs are installed from the back side of the disk or drum hub and may require removal of the hub from the vehicle for installation or removal. They consist of a threaded portion and a larger diameter section, called the knurl, that is splined to prevent rotation. The diameter of the knurl is larger than the hole in the hub requiring a press fit to seat the stud. The stud is prevented from being pulled through the hub by a larger diameter stop on the end.

Since the beginning of 1995 he has been performing solo as Knurl in Montreal, Ottawa, Toronto and Detroit, and has explored a less harsh side of noise music in his acclaimed ambient music project called Pholde.

Knurl's objective is to take music and strip it entirely of what we know music to be: it's rhythm, melody, vocals, even production quality which is most associated with music today. Bloor records and performs without the assistance of computers, synthesizers or samplers. Labels that have released Knurl material include Alien8 Recordings, RRRecords, Solipsism, Harshnoise, Troniks, Gameboy, and Obscurica.

'Knurl' puts N.J. speller in knots, Asbury Park Press Goad had tied for fourth-place in the prior year's bee. Second place went to Todd Erik Wallace from Blackfoot, Idaho, a 14 year old in his fourth consecutive Bee, and who had finished third the prior year.(29 May 1992). This Winner Is Spelled "G-O-A-D", Oklahoman There were 227 spellers this year (the same as the prior year), 117 girls and 110 boys.

Kuekes also drew a number of comic strips. With writer Olive Ray Scott, he drew the strip Alice in Wonderland and its accompanying strip Knurl the Gnome for United Features Syndicate in 1934. For the Plain Dealer, he drew the Sunday comic strip Funny Fables from 1935 to 1937 and this work was collected in a 1938 book, Funny Fables: Modern Interpretations of Famous Fabulists. With Steve Freely, he drew the daily panel strip Do You Believe for the LaFave Newspaper Features from 1955 to 1962.

The standard solid non-removable nut SAE configuration is common for many cars and trucks. Plugs which are used for these applications often have the end of the terminal serve a double purpose as the nut on a thin threaded shaft so that they can be used for either type of connection. This type of spark plug has a removable nut or knurl, which enables its users to attach them to two different kinds of spark plug boots. Some spark plugs have a bare thread, which is a common type for motorcycles and ATVs.

All the original recordings were discarded and the resulting self-disgust resulted in the band going on hiatus till early 2002. The same year the band performed its one and only "true" live show by opening up for Knurl and Merzbow in Ottawa, Canada. In 2002, Zaraza restarted its activities and tackled again the task of re-recording and remixing the entire No Paradise To Lose album from scratch. In November 2003, No Paradise To Lose was finally released, containing 50 minutes of experimental industrial doom death metal, to critical acclaim.

After several limited edition CD-R releases on various small labels worldwide, Nadja released its first official album Truth Becomes Death on Montreal's Alien8 Recordings in 2005. The duo has since released material on wider distributed labels and went through re-releasing older recordings either remastered or completely re-arranged, such as the newer Touched 2007 version back on Alien8 or the Bodycage album on Profound Lore Records/LP version on Equation. They have performed in Canada, Belgium, the Netherlands, Finland, the United Kingdom, Argentina, Brazil, Chile, Japan and the United States, sharing the stage with, among others, artists as Kayo Dot, Knurl, Khanate, Francisco López, Isis, thisquietarmy, BHUTAN drone, stilte, Dronevil and Mare.

Each tool can be set for a different length of travel by a stop screw located at the far right of the turret. As an example, if one wanted to make a batch of special knurled-head screws, the turret could be set up with tools and used in this sequence: # Stop to set length of bar stock to be machined; # Box tool to turn diameter of stock down to threading size; # Geometric die head to cut external threads on turned-down part, # Knurling tool to knurl the screw's head. After this, a front tool on the cross slide could cut a groove in the knurled area, providing a chamfer, and then a rear tool would be brought forward to cut the finished screw from the bar, called "parting it off".

In a fall, the drum is back driven by the rope as the device slides down the rope; when the drum rotation exceeds a certain angular velocity, it locks off to the frame and the increase in friction induced between the stationary drum and the rope causes the clove hitch to rapidly tighten around the locked drum to arrest the fall. The method used to lock the drum against the device frame is by the use of two straight knurl edge discs that are thrown outwards by centrifugal force as they ride on parallel ramps milled into the drum's enclosed outer periphery.
