The gamma function interpolates the factorial function to non-integer values. The main clue is the recurrence relation generalized to a continuous domain. Besides nonnegative integers, the factorial can also be defined for non-integer values, but this requires more advanced tools from mathematical analysis. One function that fills in the values of the factorial (but with a shift of 1 in the argument), that is often used, is called the gamma function, denoted .
Spin magazine's Dan Weiss compared his vocal treatments to those of Prince's aborted Camille album. Hadamard's gamma function plotted over part of the real axis. Unlike the classical gamma function, it is holomorphic; there are no poles. In mathematics, Hadamard's gamma function, named after Jacques Hadamard, is an extension of the factorial function, different from the classical gamma function. The LMA interpolates between the Gauss–Newton algorithm (GNA) and the method of gradient descent. The LMA is more robust than the GNA, which means that in many cases it finds a solution even if it starts very far off the final minimum. For well-behaved functions and reasonable starting parameters, the LMA tends to be a bit slower than the GNA. LMA can also be viewed as Gauss–Newton using a trust region approach.
The ARB Fragment Program extension provides APIs to load ARBfp1.0 assembly instructions, enable selected programs, and to set various GPU parameters. OpenGL fragments are interpolated pixel definitions. The GPU's vertex processor calculates all the pixels controlled by a set of vertices, interpolates their position and other properties and passes them onto its fragment process. Fragment programs allow developers to modify these pixel properties before they are rendered to a frame buffer for display.
Spatial interpolation methods estimate the variables at unobserved locations in geographic space based on the values at observed locations. Basic methods include inverse distance weighting: this attenuates the variable with decreasing proximity from the observed location. Kriging is a more sophisticated method that interpolates across space according to a spatial lag relationship that has both systematic and random components. This can accommodate a wide range of spatial relationships for the hidden values between observed locations.

In mathematics, the Gagliardo–Nirenberg interpolation inequality is a result in the theory of Sobolev spaces that estimates the weak derivatives of a function. The estimates are in terms of Lp norms of the function and its derivatives, and the inequality “interpolates” among various values of p and orders of differentiation, hence the name. The result is of particular importance in the theory of elliptic partial differential equations. It was proposed by Louis Nirenberg and Emilio Gagliardo.
Flat shading (left) versus phong shading (right) In 3D computer graphics, Phong shading is an interpolation technique for surface shading invented by the computer graphics pioneer Bui Tuong Phong. It is also called Phong interpolation, or normal-vector interpolation shading. It interpolates surface normals across rasterized polygons and computes pixel colors based on the interpolated normals and a reflection model. Phong shading may also refer to the specific combination of Phong interpolation and the Phong reflection model.
In all cases, soft shadows for static geometry are possible if simple occlusion tests (such as basic ray-tracing) are used to determine which lumels are visible to the light. However, the actual softness of the shadows is determined by how the engine interpolates the lumel data across a surface, and can result in a pixelated look if the lumels are too large. See texture filtering. Lightmaps can also be calculated in real-timeNovember 16, 2003.
In the realm of real-time 3D computer graphics, pixelation can be a problem. Here, bitmaps are applied to polygons as textures. As a camera approaches a textured polygon, simplistic nearest neighbor texture filtering would simply zoom in on the bitmap, creating drastic pixelation. The most common solution is a technique called pixel interpolation that smoothly blends or interpolates the color of one pixel into the color of the next adjacent pixel at high levels of zoom.
Cole said that she listened to the demo of "Happy Hour", initially titled "Sweet and Sour", on repeat because she enjoyed the song so much. As long as the parameter is a positive integer, the Lanczos kernel is continuous everywhere, and its derivative is defined and continuous everywhere (even at = , where both sinc functions go to zero). Therefore, the reconstructed signal too will be continuous, with continuous derivative. The Lanczos kernel is zero at every integer argument , except at = 0, where it has value 1. Therefore, the reconstructed signal exactly interpolates the given samples: we will have = for every integer argument = .

Suppose we interpolate through data points with an at-most degree polynomial p(x) (we need at least datapoints or else the polynomial cannot be fully solved for). Suppose also another polynomial exists also of degree at most that also interpolates the points; call it q(x). Consider r(x) = p(x) - q(x). We know, # r(x) is a polynomial # r(x) has degree at most , since p(x) and q(x) are no higher than this and we are just subtracting them.

A plot of the first few factorials makes clear that such a curve can be drawn, but it would be preferable to have a formula that precisely describes the curve, in which the number of operations does not depend on the size of x.

Interpolation may also be appropriate for many types of satellite instruments, for instance a cross- track scanning instrument like Landsat. In data derived from the Advanced Microwave Sounding Unit (AMSU) are interpolated (although not for the purposes of collocation) using a slight variation of trilinear interpolation. Since measurements within a single scan track are laid out in an approximately rectangular grid, bilinear interpolation can be performed. By searching for the nearest overlapping scan track both forwards and backwards in time, the spatial interpolates can then be interpolated in time.
In contrast, when anti-aliased the checker-board near the top blends into grey, which is usually the desired effect when the resolution is insufficient to show the detail. Even near the bottom of the image, the edges appear much smoother in the anti-aliased image. Multiple methods exist, including the sinc filter, which is considered a better anti- aliasing algorithm. When magnified, it can be seen how anti-aliasing interpolates the brightness of the pixels at the boundaries to produce grey pixels since the space is occupied by both black and white tiles.

In computer graphics, a digital differential analyzer (DDA) is hardware or software used for interpolation of variables over an interval between start and end point. DDAs are used for rasterization of lines, triangles and polygons. They can be extended to non linear functions, such as perspective correct texture mapping, quadratic curves, and traversing voxels. In its simplest implementation for linear cases such as lines, the DDA algorithm interpolates values in interval by computing for each xi the equations xi = xi−1 \+ 1, yi = yi−1 \+ m, where m is the slope of the line.

The song was written in tribute to the Kintyre peninsula in Scotland and its headland, the Mull of Kintyre, where McCartney has owned High Park Farm since 1966. The song interpolates the Scottish traditional folk melody “Auld Lang Syne”. The single was Wings' biggest hit in Britain and is one of the best selling singles of all time in the United Kingdom, where it became the 1977 Christmas number one and was the first single to sell over two million copies nationwide.
The Rugrats Movie soundtrack was awarded a platinum certification in the United States for selling over one million copies. While the film's website credits sales to the strength of the major-label artists who participated, chart positions and sales correlate directly to the heavy promotions for the feature film's November 20, 1998, US release. "Take Me There (Want U Back Mix)," which interpolates "I Want You Back" by The Jackson 5, peaked at No. 27 on the Billboard Hot 100 on December 19, 1998, after three weeks on the chart. That same day it made its way onto the Top 40.
FEATool has introduced a multi-simulation feature whereby interfaces to popular academic and open-source solvers are developed. This feature enables these solvers to be used from the FEATool GUI and CLI without detailed knowledge of the syntax or peculiarities of each solver. The CFD solver interfaces allows fluid dynamics problems to be solved with the finite volume CFD solvers OpenFOAM and SU2. Using the interfaces automatically converts incompressible Navier-Stokes FEATool models to compatible OpenFOAM/SU2 mesh, boundary, and control dictionary files, runs simulations, and afterwards imports and interpolates the resulting solutions back into FEATool.
The entire waltz consists of just 3 two-part waltz sections which is also a new Strauss development from the previous 5 two-part sections heard in his earlier works. The piece began with a loud march melody in the C major key before progressing into waltz time. The principal waltz theme in C major is also in the style of The Blue Danube, where three notes in rising melody starts off the waltz proper. Waltz 2A carries the principal key in C major as well but quickly interpolates with a more thoughtful passage in E-flat major.
Cole – Return of Simba Mostly Junkfood Cole purposely avoided releasing his debut album's title for fear of inconsistency, only announcing that Jay-Z would be featured on his debut album. Cole then released his follow-up single to "Who Dat", the album's lead single, "Work Out" on June 15, 2011, in honor of the second anniversary of his highly acclaimed mixtape The Warm Up.J. In 2008, Atlanta-based rapper Rocko released a song titled "Dis Morning", from his debut album Self Made, which interpolates Kweli's "Get By". Also in 2008, "Get By" was featured in the comedy film First Sunday, as well as the film's soundtrack. In 2009, North Carolina-bred rapper J. Cole, freestyled over the song's production, which was featured on his 2009 mixtape The Warm Up. On the December 12, 2016 episode of the American satirical show Full Frontal with Samantha Bee, Kweli and writer Ashley Nicole Black modified the lyrics of "Get By" to one that touts the benefits of online encryption.
The song channels the melody of The Sound of Musics "My Favorite Things" in the verses: "Breakfast at Tiffany's/And bottles of bubbles/Girls with tattoos who like getting in trouble/Lashes and diamonds, ATM machines/Buy myself all of my favorite things". The song also interpolates The Notorious B.I.G.'s "Gimme the Loot" in the bridge. Grande described the song as a "friendship anthem" that "evolves" from previous single "Thank U, Next", while embracing a new chapter. She opens up about how her break-up with Pete Davidson led her to "treating her friends instead".
The album sampled high-profile artists and gave some of these artists a new fanbase as a result. "U Can't Touch This" sampled "Super Freak" by Rick James; "Dancin' Machine" sampled the Jackson 5; "Have You Seen Her" is a semi-cover of The Chi-Lites song; "Help the Children" interpolates Marvin Gaye's "Mercy Mercy Me (The Ecology)"; "Pray" and "She's Soft and Wet" sample the Prince songs "When Doves Cry" and "Soft and Wet" respectively. "This Is What We Do" was a 1990 track released by Hammer (featuring B Angie B) for the Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles film and soundtrack.
'". "Blood on the Leaves" is a hip hop song in which West delivers his vocals through an Auto-Tune processor, similar to his 2008 album 808s & Heartbreak. The song begins with a sample of singer and civil rights activist Nina Simone's 1965 rendition of "Strange Fruit" by Billie Holiday over rolling piano chords, after which West's vocals begins. After one minute, the song unleashes horns taken from musical duo TNGHT's song "R U Ready", along with animal growls that play sporadically throughout the rest of the song. He later interpolates the hook of rapper C-Murder's 2000 song "Down for My N's.
Voyageur is the fifth studio album by the German musical project Enigma and released in 2003. Voyageur was considered to be Enigma's most distinctive album to date, due to Enigma's drastic changes in sound as compared to the previous four albums. The project's signature shakuhachi flutes, Gregorian chants and tribal chants found on the earlier albums were all but gone on Voyageur. Instead, most of the songs found on the album were more pop- oriented, such as "Voyageur", "Incognito", "Boum-Boum" and "Look of Today"; the latter of which interpolates the chorus of ABC's hit "The Look of Love".
"If You Leave Me Now" is a song by American singer Charlie Puth, featuring American vocal group Boyz II Men. It was released via Atlantic Records on January 5, 2018, as the first promotional single from Puth's second studio album, Voicenotes (2018). The song is an a cappella song, it interpolates "I Thought She Knew" by NSYNC from their 2000 album, No Strings Attached. While the song is not a cover of Chicago's 1976 hit single, Puth recognizes the eponymous song's legacy by including the line "You will take the biggest part of me," which is featured prominently in the predecessor song's lyrics.
In that way, the curve interpolates between the two points, and the resulting curve is a polygon, which is continuous, but not differentiable at the interval boundaries, or knots. Higher degree polynomials have correspondingly more continuous derivatives. Note that within the interval the polynomial nature of the basis functions and the linearity of the construction make the curve perfectly smooth, so it is only at the knots that discontinuity can arise. In many applications the fact that a single control point only influences those intervals where it is active is a highly desirable property, known as local support.
Their song, "Mona Lisa, Pt.2", interpolates the Tom Tom Club song, 'Genius of Love', and was sanctioned by the original writers, Tina Weymouth and Chris Franz of Tom Tom Club and Talking Heads. Bedtime for Toys are currently working on material for a new EP, entitled "BFT iz Punk n' B", which will feature cover songs of R&B; artists Bobby Brown, Earth, Wind & Fire, Sheila E., and Chaka Khan. The band is recording at their home studio, Fresh Labs, and well as at Hangar 1018, an art gallery and warehouse, in the Downtown Los Angeles Toy District.
Single knots at 1/3 and 2/3 establish a spline of three cubic polynomials meeting with C2 continuity. Triple knots at both ends of the interval ensure that the curve interpolates the end points In mathematics, a spline is a special function defined piecewise by polynomials. In interpolating problems, spline interpolation is often preferred to polynomial interpolation because it yields similar results, even when using low degree polynomials, while avoiding Runge's phenomenon for higher degrees. In the computer science subfields of computer-aided design and computer graphics, the term spline more frequently refers to a piecewise polynomial (parametric) curve.
In 1999, D-Train did the backup vocal for "Eyes of a Child", a song written by Trey Parker and Performed by Michael McDonald for the film, South Park Bigger Longer & Uncut. Williams was hired as a DJ for Heart & Soul Channel 51 on the Sirius Satellite Radio service based in New York City from 2001 to 2008. In 2007, his performances of "My Funny Valentine" and Hot Chocolate's "You Sexy Thing" appeared on the soundtrack of the film Perfect Stranger. The Notorious B.I.G.'s Sky's the Limit interpolates part of D Train's 1982 song "Keep On".
Salaam Remi contributes to the song's emotional weight with his maudlin, noir-style string samples taken from Bad Man Waltz. Epinions described the song's composition: "The musical layers are deceptively intricate, with a unison string/woodwind line that continually evolves throughout the song and a very simple vocal harmony mix that moves into a call and response against Jazmine's pleas. Neither of the facets scream for attention but repeated listens bear out just how well they framed this song." The song interpolates the lyric "Now watch me you" from Soulja Boy Tell 'Em's signature song "Crank That (Soulja Boy)".
"Homecoming" has been covered and remixed by other hip-hop artists. The Kickdrums created a mashup of "Homecoming" and the song "Ain't No Love (Heart of the City)" by rapper Jay-Z. Entitled "No Love Coming Home," the track interpolates the sung chorus of "Homecoming" and combines it with verse- raps of "Ain't No Love (Heart of the City)." It was included on Viva La Hova, a collaborative mixtape hosted by Mick Boogie and Terry Urban composed entirely of mashups of Jay-Z and Coldplay songs that was approved by both the rapper as well as the rock band.
Cocoa Tea's song "Jah Made Them That Way" from his 1984 album Rocking Dolly interpolates "Human Nature" by Michael Jackson and "Answer Mi Question" by Dillinger. He initiated the annual New Year's Eve events Dancehall Jam Jam in 2003; It ran until 2009, with plans to resurrect it in 2015.Campbell-Livingston, Cecelia (2014) "Cocoa Tea Looks to Sunset in Negril", Jamaica Observer, 1 October 2014. Retrieved 1 October 2014 After recording for many of the top reggae labels including VP Records, Greensleeves Records and Ras Records, he started his own Roaring Lion label around 2000.
"Timber" is a song by American rapper Pitbull featuring American singer Kesha. The song was released on October 6, 2013, as the lead single from Pitbull's extended play (EP) Meltdown EP. The song was produced by Dr. Luke, Cirkut, and Sermstyle, with additional production by Nick Seeley. The song interpolates Lee Oskar's 1978 single "San Francisco Bay" and features harmonica player Paul Harrington, who plays through the entire song and was told to emulate Oskar. The song peaked at No. 1 on the Billboard Hot 100 for three consecutive weeks, with 442,000 single week downloads sold.
Bismut gave a natural construction of a Hodge theory whose corresponding Laplacian is a hypoelliptic operator acting on the total space of the cotangent bundle of a Riemannian manifold. This operator interpolates formally between the classical elliptic Laplacian on the base and the generator of the geodesic flow. One striking application is Bismut's explicit formulas for all orbital integrals at semi-simple elements of any reductive Lie group. In 1990, he was awarded the Prix Ampere of the Academy of Sciences. He was a visiting scholar at the Institute for Advanced Study in the summer of 1984.
"Me and My Broken Heart" interpolates the chorus of Rob Thomas' 2005 single, "Lonely No More". Band members Jake Roche and Danny Wilkin wrote songs in a caravan belonging to Wilkin's parents, three years prior to the formation of their band. After being introduced to Charley Bagnall through mutual friends, the trio met Lewi Morgan who subsequently joined them to form the band, Rixton. After establishing a loyal following on YouTube for their covers of hit singles by Taylor Swift, Chris Brown and Rita Ora among others, the group was signed to Interscope Records and three of its sub labels by talent manager Scooter Braun and songwriter/record producer, Benny Blanco.
Larger scale works are chiefly represented by the Billingshurst Mass, for large chorus and orchestra, a concert setting of the mass that also interpolates the Ave Maria into the usual text. Premiered in Chichester Cathedral in 2000, following a commission from the Billingshurst Choral Society (a committee member being a former Peterborough chorister), it was later performed in Peterborough Cathedral. 2000 also marked his 90th birthday, which saw a celebratory concert by the Peterborough Chamber Choir at All Saints' Church, Peterborough, which received favourable reviews in the Church Times. 2002 saw him finally leave the Peterborough area, moving to Richmond, North Yorkshire to be closer to family members.
Records, produced by Markie, his cousin Cool V and Paul C. The single "Just a Friend", in which he alternates between rap and singing, became Markie's most successful single, reaching #9 on the Billboard charts. The song interpolates the 1968 song "You Got What I Need" by singer/songwriter Freddie Scott, whose basic chord and melody provided the base for the song's chorus. "Just a Friend" was ranked 81st on VH1's 100 Greatest One-Hit Wonders in 2000, and later as number 100 on VH1's 100 Greatest Songs of Hip Hop in 2008. The music video, directed by Lionel C. Martin, chronicles the rapper's woman problems.
"Love Me" is a song by Canadian recording artist, Justin Bieber. The track was written by Bruno Mars, Ari Levine, and Philip Lawrence, and produced by DJ Frank E. It was released exclusively to iTunes as the first promotional single from his debut studio release, My World, on October 26, 2009. An electropop song which also contains dance-pop and R&B; music, the chorus interpolates the 1996 single "Lovefool" by the Swedish band The Cardigans. "Love Me" was one of the most well received tracks on the album, with critics complimenting its electro and club feel, and its usage of the "Lovefool" sample.
The track interpolates elements of "Head Like a Hole", the 1989 single by American industrial rock band Nine Inch Nails, from their debut studio album Pretty Hate Machine. Therefore, "On a Roll" credits Nine Inch Nails frontman Trent Reznor as a songwriter, and was produced by production trio The Invisible Men. Black Mirror creator Charlie Brooker gained permission from Reznor to use the song, and later re-wrote the lyrics to be "uber-positive" in order to serve as a juxtaposition with the "dark concepts" of the episode. The song is written in the key of B-flat Major in common time with a tempo of 122 beats per minute.
The title track, which was written by Southern Sons vocalist Phil Buckle, was called "a triumph" by AllMusic editor David Gonzales, who described it as "an outstanding vehicle, containing a strong melody and hook in the chorus". The album made combined regional and domestic sales of 250,000 copies. For her seventh studio album Retro (1996), Velasquez recorded cover versions of 1970s and 1980s hit singles by artists including Donna Summer, Foreigner, and the Carpenters. The album's only original track, "Fly", is credited to Earth, Wind & Fire members Maurice White, Al McKay, and Allee Willis because the song interpolates the melody of their single "September".
A network is called a small-world network by analogy with the small-world phenomenon (popularly known as six degrees of separation). The small world hypothesis, which was first described by the Hungarian writer Frigyes Karinthy in 1929, and tested experimentally by Stanley Milgram (1967), is the idea that two arbitrary people are connected by only six degrees of separation, i.e. the diameter of the corresponding graph of social connections is not much larger than six. In 1998, Duncan J. Watts and Steven Strogatz published the first small-world network model, which through a single parameter smoothly interpolates between a random graph and a lattice.
"Break My Heart" is a dance-pop and disco song, with funk, house and 1980s elements. It has a length of 3:41 and interpolates the rhythm guitar melody from "Need You Tonight" by INXS. The song was composed using time in the key of E minor, with a tempo of 112–116 beats per minute. The verses and choruses have a chord progression of Em–G–Fdim–Em–C–Bm–D, while the pre-choruses follow a Cmaj7–D6–Bm7–Em7–D6 sequence and the bridge follows a C–D–G/B–Bm–Em–Bm/D–C–D–Em7–B7–B chord progression.
An old-fashioned CD player reading subcode correctly sees a missing audio frame and interpolates any missing information that it cannot correct using information from neighbouring frames. Because these missing frames occur at points where the waveform was nearly a straight line anyway, this interpolation is very accurate and generally transparent to the user. What happens with computer drives is very specific to the hardware and firmware of the drive in question, assuming they have at least seen past the second data session and can play the audio session. Some older drives simply ignore the subcode and "play" the data frames, resulting in loud audio glitches.
Its lyrics have heartbreak and personal growth themes, which see a faithful Lipa offering her heart to a new partner after an upsetting breakup. Lipa describes "Break My Heart" as a "celebration of vulnerability," seeing her question whether a new love will leave her broken-hearted, with lyrics comparing to the ongoing COVID-19 pandemic's social distancing measures. It interpolates rhythm guitar melody from "Need You Tonight" (1987) by INXS, alongside Europop and dance beats, disco violins, and a techno-adjacent baseline as the production. Musically, it is a disco and dance-pop song, with a retro-futuristic sound, and elements of funk and house.
"Riddle" is a song recorded by American R&B; group En Vogue. It was written by Denzil Foster and Thomas McElroy, along with band members Cindy Herron, Maxine Jones, and Terry Ellis, for their fourth studio album Masterpiece Theater (2000), while production was helmed by Foster & McElroy. An angry mid-tempo song about a sneaking, cheating lover, "Riddle" is built around a clapping game motif, and interpolates the band's 1992 song "My Lovin' (You're Never Gonna Get It)." Lyrically, it has the protagonist revealing her feelings about discovering that her love interest is having an affair with someone else over the course of the week.
It is also clear from the text that Asser was familiar with Virgil's Aeneid, Caelius Sedulius's Carmen Paschale, Aldhelm's De Virginitate, and Einhard's Vita Karoli Magni ("Life of Charlemagne"). He quotes from Gregory the Great's Regula Pastoralis, a work he and Alfred subsequently collaborated in translating, and from Augustine of Hippo's Enchiridion. About half of the Life is little more than a translation of part of the Anglo-Saxon Chronicle for the years 851–887, though Asser adds personal opinions and interpolates information about Alfred's life. Asser also adds material relating to the years after 887 and general opinions about Alfred's character and reign.
After commending the author's "keen eye for the picturesque", a critic in the Cambridge History of English Literature remarked, "The strong humanity which runs through the whole work is one of its most attractive features and shows that the writer was full of sympathy for his fellow-men." The poem is written in early Middle English. Its nearly 30,000 lines of eight-syllable couplets are linguistically important as a solid record of the Northumbrian English dialect of the era, and it is, therefore, the most-often quoted single work in the Oxford English Dictionary. Cursor Mundi interpolates material from hagiographic sources, including The Golden Legend and various Latin legendary cycles.
On November 7, Cara released her first Christmas song, Make It To Christmas, which peaked at number 1 at Billboard Canadian AC. The song was Cara's last song of the decade. On April 3, 2020, Cara released "I Choose," her original song for the movie The Willoughbys. On July 17, Cara released an EP, This Summer: Live Off The Floor, which features live, reimagined performances of the songs off of This Summer, as well as three bonus tracks and an intro that interpolates Summertime by George Gershwin. All of Cara's proceeds from the EP for the next 21 years are going to Save The Children.
The song "Soul Makossa" on the record of the same name contains the lyrics "makossa", which means "(I) dance" in his native tongue, the Cameroonian language Duala. It has influenced popular music hits, including Kool and the Gang's "Jungle Boogie". The 1982 parody song "Boogie in your butt" by comedian Eddie Murphy interpolates Soul Makossa's bassline and horn charts while "Butt Naked Booty Blues" by 1990s hip-hop group Poor Righteous Teachers heavily samples its musical bridge and drum patterns. He served as the first chairman of the Cameroon Music Corporation, with a high profile in disputes about artists' royalties. Dibango was appointed a UNESCO Artist for Peace in 2004.
Martin's debut album under the name Me One was released in May 2000 on Universal-Island UK. The 12 track release was titled As Far as I'm Concerned and featured Guru (from Gang Starr) on "Do You Know" and Michelle Gayle on "In My Room" which interpolates the Beach Boys song of the same name. The latter was released as a single, along with "Game Plan" and "Old Fashioned". Aside from his solo work, Martin has written with (or for) Jeff Beck, Maxi Priest, the Roots, Capleton, Lynden David Hall and the Sugababes. In 2011, he signed a recording deal with Glasgow-based record label Innovation Music.
In approximation theory, a finite collection of points X \subset R^n is often called unisolvent for a space W if any element w \in W is uniquely determined by its values on X. X is unisolvent for \Pi^m_n (polynomials in n variables of degree at most m) if there exists a unique polynomial in \Pi^m_n of lowest possible degree which interpolates the data X. Simple examples in R would be the fact that two distinct points determine a line, three points determine a parabola, etc. It is clear that over R, any collection of k + 1 distinct points will uniquely determine a polynomial of lowest possible degree in \Pi^k.
In computer graphics, per-pixel lighting refers to any technique for lighting an image or scene that calculates illumination for each pixel on a rendered image. This is in contrast to other popular methods of lighting such as vertex lighting, which calculates illumination at each vertex of a 3D model and then interpolates the resulting values over the model's faces to calculate the final per-pixel color values. Per-pixel lighting is commonly used with techniques like normal mapping, bump mapping, specularity, and shadow volumes. Each of these techniques provides some additional data about the surface being lit or the scene and light sources that contributes to the final look and feel of the surface.
When speaking about their signing to the label(s) and the experience of recording their first extended play, Rixton commented, "It's overwhelming to have gone from writing songs in Wilkin's caravan to seeing the world performing our music. We've worked extremely hard and have had a blast recording the EP. The songs are very eclectic and we think there's something for everyone!". "Me and My Broken Heart" interpolates parts of Rob Thomas's 2005 single "Lonely No More". Band member Jake Roche discussed the sample in an article for Billboard: "We've been a huge fan of his, so we took a lot of inspiration from him and wanted to give him a tip of the hat".
In 2020, Furlong once again displayed his talent for blending genres, producing and co-writing the songs "Someday", a collaboration between Kygo and country artist Zac Brown, and "SUPREMACY" by The Fever 333, which was co-produced with John Feldmann and Travis Barker and interpolates the hit song "Rapture" by Blondie, listing Debbie Harry and Chris Stein as co- writers. In addition, he also co-wrote and produced "Hanging with Ghosts" by Yung Pinch featuring Good Charlotte and Goody Grace. Furlong revealed his own project, The Dirty Rich, on September 14, 2020. The first single, titled "Hot American Summer", is set to release on September 28, 2020 via Furlong's imprint AttaBoy Music, a sub-label of Reach Global.
The song was used in the 2002 film 8 Mile and in the 2009 biographical movie Notorious (with Lil' Kim's verse.) The repeated line "Take Money" in the 2Pac song "Hit 'Em Up" is a play on "Get Money". This song, which also used the same Dennis Edwards sample as the "Get Money" remix, is a very violent diss track aimed at Notorious B.I.G. and other members of the Bad Boy record label. The intro to the 2002 Lil Wayne song "Way of Life" contains the line "Cash Money", which interpolates the chorus to this song and refers to Wayne's record company at the time; it uses the Dennis Edwards sample as well.
The network is extended by taking each node in turn and, with probability \textstyle p, adding an edge to a new location \textstyle m nodes distant. The rewiring process allows the model to interpolate between a one- dimensional regular lattice and a two-dimensional regular lattice. When the rewiring probability \textstyle p=0, we have a one-dimensional regular lattice of size \textstyle N. When \textstyle p=1, every node is connected to a new location and the graph is essentially a two-dimensional lattice with \textstyle m and \textstyle N/m nodes in each direction. For \textstyle p between \textstyle 0 and \textstyle 1, we have a graph which interpolates between the one and two dimensional regular lattices.
Lyrically, the band mean to convey a message of positivity with the song. The song was intended to be a source of empowerment to those struggling with life issues, and its music video specifically meant to be a source of female empowerment, in support of the reports of sexism in Hollywood that eventually spurred the MeToo movement. Loudwire described the song's as one of the band's heaviest singles, describing its sound as being "hard rock [that] interpolates a little bit of metalcore crunch into the riffing, giving their music a harder edge of texture." The song's guitar and vocals are done in a Bb tuning, something the band hadn't previously done music in.
"Feel This Moment" was written by Nasri Atweh, Chantal Kreviazuk, Adam Messinger, Sir Nolan, DJ Buddha, Pitbull, and Aguilera, while production was handled by Adam Messinger, Sir Nolan, Nasri Atweh, and DJ Buddha. The song interpolates "Take On Me" by A-ha, written and composed by Morten Harket, Paul Waaktaar-Savoy, and Magne Furuholmen. "Feel This Moment" received generally favorable reviews from music critics, who praised Aguilera's appearance and the ”Take On Me” interpolation used on the song, and some of whom compared the song's theme to songs by Ludacris, David Guetta, Usher and Kesha. The single was a commercial success, reaching the top ten of the charts in many countries including Australia, Canada, Switzerland and the United Kingdom.
"China" debuted at number two on Billboards Hot Latin Songs chart and topped both the Latin Digital Songs and Latin Streaming Songs charts with 1,000 downloads sold and 14.1 million streams, while the accompanying video was included on the Rolling Stone list of the 10 Best Latin Music Videos of July. Anuel AA later appeared on the single "Whine Up" from Nicky Jam's album Íntimo, released on November 1, 2019. In January 2020, Anuel AA collaborated with Shakira on the song "Me Gusta", which interpolates Jamaican reggae band Inner Circle's 1992 hit "Sweat (A La La La La Long)". Rolling Stone called the song "an unhurried lover’s rock number with a delicate touch of dembow".
By the summer of 2000, the "Woos" caught on and are now a standard crowd chant at the start of every Warehouse featuring the stop-time intro. However the show on June 19, 2010 at the Verizon Wireless Music Center in Noblesville, Indiana, the song started with a lyrical intro by Dave and did not have the distinctive "Wooing." The distinctive stop-time intro has also been used by the Washington Capitals as a call and response with fans at the Verizon Center. Dave Matthews and Tim Reynolds versions have continued to contain the original intro, as well as a "Passion" Intro where Dave interpolates the vocal chords from Peter Gabriel's Passion.
"Bodak Yellow" (alternatively titled "Bodak Yellow (Money Moves)") is the major-label debut single by American rapper Cardi B. It was written and recorded by Cardi B and produced by J. White Did It and Laquan Green with additional songwriting by Klenord Raphael and Jordan Thorpe. It was released on June 16, 2017, by Atlantic Records as the lead single from her debut studio album Invasion of Privacy (2018). The song was influenced by and interpolates the flow of American rapper Kodak Black's song "No Flockin". "Bodak Yellow" topped the US Billboard Hot 100 chart for three consecutive weeks, making Cardi B the second female rapper to reach number one with a solo song, following Lauryn Hill's "Doo Wop (That Thing)" in 1998.
In computer science, trace-based simulation refers to system simulation performed by looking at traces of program execution or system component access with the purpose of performance prediction.Software Technologies for Embedded and Ubiquitous Systems edited by Sunggu Lee and Priya Narasimhan 2009 page 28 Trace-based simulation may be used in a variety of applications, from the analysis of solid state disks to the message passing performance on very large computer clusters.Languages and Compilers for Parallel Computing edited by Keith Cooper, John Mellor-Crummey and Vivek Sarkar 2011 pages 202-203 Traced- based simulators usually have two components: one that executes actions and stores the results (i.e. traces) and another which reads the log files of traces and interpolates them to new (and often more complex) scenarios.
Hammond's website includes a notice encouraging those who have been sued by Fuchs or any of his record labels to contact Hammond. Hammond has occasionally been credited as a co- writer due to the sample, including on the hit Mary J. Blige song "Real Love", which samples the drum track from "Top Billin'" by Audio Two, which in turn uses a modified form of the drum intro from "Impeach the President". He is also credited for the 2011 Kanye West and Jay-Z song "Otis", which uses a line from "Top Billin'", and for the 2013 Frank Ocean song "Super Rich Kids", which interpolates the chorus of "Real Love". Neither "Otis" nor "Super Rich Kids" contain a sample from "Impeach the President".
The camera interpolates the color information of neighboring sensor elements, through a process called demosaicing, to create the final image. These sensor elements are often called "pixels", even though they only record 1 channel (only red or green or blue) of the final color image. Thus, two of the three color channels for each sensor must be interpolated and a so-called N-megapixel camera that produces an N-megapixel image provides only one-third of the information that an image of the same size could get from a scanner. Thus, certain color contrasts may look fuzzier than others, depending on the allocation of the primary colors (green has twice as many elements as red or blue in the Bayer arrangement).
The music video, which was directed by Badu and designed by visual artist and designer Ron Norsworthy, uses the Cheeba Sac remix of the song which samples Dr. Dre's "Xxplosive" from his 1999 album 2001, which was based on the song Bumpy's Lament from the soundtrack to the movie Shaft. In a segment during the music video, Erykah and her "bag ladies" (consisting of singers Yahzarah and N'dambi, as well as Badu's mother and sister) dance to an excerpt of Johnny Hammond's "Gambler's Life" (1974). (Badu also interpolates "Gambler's Life" on "Booty," another song from the Mama's Gun album.) The video was shot on Mini DV digital video — an unusual choice for a mainstream music video production, which gave it an appearance comparable to a home movie.
453 (at JSTOR, free subscription needed) The Greek book of Esther, included in the Septuagint, is a retelling of the events of the Hebrew Book of Esther rather than a translation and records additional traditions which do not appear in the traditional Hebrew version, in particular the identification of Ahasuerus with Artaxerxes and details of various letters. It is dated around the late 2nd to early 1st century BC.George Lyons, Additions to Esther, Wesley Center for Applied Theology, 2000 The Coptic and Ethiopic versions of Esther are translations of the Greek rather than the Hebrew Esther. A Latin version of Esther was produced by Jerome for the Vulgate. It translates the Hebrew Esther but interpolates translations of the Greek Esther where the latter provides additional material.
"Satisfy You", released on October 13, 1999, is a number-one R&B; single by American hip-hop artist and producer Puff Daddy and features vocals by American R&B; singer-songwriter R. Kelly on the hook. The song spent six weeks at number one on the U.S. R&B; chart and peaked at number two on the Billboard Hot 100 chart for three weeks behind "Smooth" by Santana featuring Rob Thomas. The song was co-written by both Combs and R. Kelly, with additional writing by R&B; singer Kelly Price, who performs backing vocals. The song's beat and bassline is taken from "I Got 5 on It" by Luniz, which itself interpolates Club Nouveau's "Why You Treat Me So Bad" among others.
Krissi Murison of the British magazine, NME, also was negative with her review, claiming that the track is a "bar the knuckle-bitingly bad duet", further adding that every song on Love. Angel. Music. Baby. sounds like a future hit, minus "Long Way to Go". Nick Sylvester of Pitchfork Media remained indifferent of the song as he thought that the song's lyrics "feel out of place on an otherwise carefree album" and preferred Stefani and 3000's other collaboration, "Bubble Pop Electric". However, Ryan Book of Music Times, was less critical with his review: "[Stefani] took a break from colorful music videos to make a statement of racial relations... the song uses a less clear sample than the other tracks, but interpolates his words into the electronic breakdown at the end of the song".
Not so elsewhere. The 11th-century Missal of Robert of Jumièges, Archbishop of Canterbury, interpolates the names of Saint Gertrude, Saint Gregory, Saint Ethraelda, and other English saints in the Communicantes.. The Missale Drummondiense inserts the names of Saint Patrick and Saint Gregory the Great.. And in several Medieval French Missals the Canon contained the names of Saint Martin and Saint Hilary. Pope Pius V's imposition of the Roman Missal in 1570 restrained any tendency to vary the text of the Canon. According to one source, in 1604 Pope Clement VIII, as well as modifying some of the rubrics, altered the text of the Canon by excluding a mention of the king.. In the early nineteenth century, the king was mentioned by name in England within the Canon.
Example of magnitude of the Fourier transform of a bandlimited function The Nyquist–Shannon sampling theorem is a theorem in the field of digital signal processing which serves as a fundamental bridge between continuous-time signals and discrete-time signals. It establishes a sufficient condition for a sample rate that permits a discrete sequence of samples to capture all the information from a continuous-time signal of finite bandwidth. Strictly speaking, the theorem only applies to a class of mathematical functions having a Fourier transform that is zero outside of a finite region of frequencies. Intuitively we expect that when one reduces a continuous function to a discrete sequence and interpolates back to a continuous function, the fidelity of the result depends on the density (or sample rate) of the original samples.
" Hannah Ash of The Harber Herald wrote that on F.A.M.E., "She Ain't You" and "Up to You" are "the perfect sweet and cute love songs". While reviewing the album, Sean Fennessey of The Washington Post wrote that "a more appropriate application appears on 'She Ain’t You', which interpolates Michael Jackson's 'Human Nature'. Jackson has long been the emotional, physical and musical forebear to Brown. But on 'She Ain’t You' he begs the comparison, and it isn’t pretty." Jon Caramanica of The New York Times wrote that Brown "has a really charmless way with a lyric, as on 'She Ain’t You'—"When I'm with her it's only 'bout the sex / With you I had a bad romance / And if I could just trade her in I would"—and a voice nowhere near strong enough to make up for it.
All proper vertex colorings of vertex graphs with 3 vertices using k colors for k=0,1,2,3. The chromatic polynomial of each graph interpolates through the number of proper colorings. For a graph G, P(G,k) counts the number of its (proper) vertex k-colorings. Other commonly used notations include P_G(k), \chi_G(k), or \pi_G(k). There is a unique polynomial P(G,x) which evaluated at any integer k ≥ 0 coincides with P(G,k); it is called the chromatic polynomial of G. For example, to color the path graph P_3 on 3 vertices with k colors, one may choose any of the k colors for the first vertex, any of the k - 1 remaining colors for the second vertex, and lastly for the third vertex, any of the k - 1 colors that are different from the second vertex's choice.
Save for one vintage Little Richard song, it features new hip-hop and contemporary R&B; recordings more or less unrelated to the actual film (one track, Gina Thompson's "Why Do Fools Fall in Love", interpolates the Teenagers' hit and is featured over the end credits of the film). Primarily produced by Missy Elliott and Timbaland, this soundtrack album features songs by artists such as Elliott, Busta Rhymes, En Vogue, Destiny's Child, Coko and, making her solo debut, Spice Girls member Melanie B. "I Want You Back" by Melanie Brown featuring Missy Elliott peaked at number-one in the UK Singles Chart. Why Do Fools Fall in Love was executive produced by Missy Elliott and released on September 8, 1998 through Elektra Records, East West Records and Missy Elliott's label The Goldmind Inc. The soundtrack featured main production by Elliott and Timbaland.
Esquire cites "On Sight" as an early example of the album's connection to electronic music, citing its "droning synthesizer tone", which is "modulated until the signal starts throwing off harshly treble-heavy spikes and begins to clip, as if it were overloading a digital audio processor". Yeezus continues West's practice of eclectic samples: he employs an obscure Hindi sample on "I Am a God", and a sample of 1970s Hungarian rock group Omega on "New Slaves". "On Sight" interpolates a melody from "Sermon (He'll Give Us What We Really Need)" by the Holy Name of Mary Choral Family, although the track originally sampled an old vocal track from the original recording. As late as a week prior to release, lawyers were forced to track down the choir director and members of the choir on the South Side of Chicago in order to get clearance for such a sample.
Andy Williams concluded of Lost Souls that, "The best thing was that after all the years of hard work and very testing times we knew we were finally creating the sort of music we had always wanted to ..." The band also dedicated Lost Souls to their late friend and mentor Rob Gretton. With their background in dance and house music, the band incorporated a variety of samples on Lost Souls; "A House" features the sounds of a burning building, "Lost Souls" features funhouse music, "Break Me Gently" interpolates a sample of a telephone recording that originally appeared on hip hop group 3rd Bass's 1989 album The Cactus Album, and "Sea Song" features a spoken-word dialogue extract from the 1984 Wim Wenders film Paris, Texas. The band also cites Talk Talk's seminal 1988 album Spirit of Eden as a chief influence on Lost Souls.
You could fall through the spaces.” Here Ferry interpolates lines from Samuel Johnson on “chasms infinitely deep” that lie beneath the surface of things. It is not merely that –as the writer of ‘Old Man’ and ‘The Glory’ must have felt – we do not know these things, but that we do not have the “faculties” to know them. Over and over, Ferry alludes to this “something”, elusive partly as the result of the ambivalent gifts of time. ‘Down by the River’ describes a scene’s “participial rhythm, // Flowing, enjoying, taking its own sweet time”. But it is the shifting liquidity of water that most vividly evokes the ineffable, Ferry’s real subject. ‘Lake Water’ declares “The plane of the water is like a page on which / Phrases and even sentences are written”. Yet as the poet tries to compose, “The surface of the page is like lake water” and later again all is “erased with the changing of the breeze”.
