Keith Alexander (born January 3, 1963 in New York) is an American race car driver. He spent three years, starting in 2001, completing half seasons for Porsche-supplied teams in the American Le Mans Series. He has also competed in the GrandAm Series and GrandAm Motorola Cup.

The filly was sent into training with Dick Hern at West Ilsley.

Gohanna sired many successful racehorses, including the Derby winners Election and Cardinal Beaufort and the good sires Canopus, the damsire of Lap-dog and Spaniel, and Golumpus. Unlike Waxy, Gohanna's direct male line is extinct, his last descendant being Warwick which died in 1894. Gohanna's daughter the Gohanna mare was the grandam of the Derby winner Frederick.

Only four Derby winners carried Raise a Native on their broodmare sire line: Barbaro, Mine that Bird, Real Quiet and Justify, the latter two of whom carried him on both lines. American Pharoah is also descended from Raise a Native through his maternal grandam, Ecliptical, who was sired by Exclusive Native, as is 2016 Kentucky Derby winner, Nyquist, through his maternal grandam Seeking Regina, a great-granddaughter of Raise A Native.

Eleanor (1798 – c. 1824) was a British Thoroughbred racehorse bred by Charles Bunbury and was the first female horse to win The Derby. Eleanor also won the 1801 Epsom Oaks among many other races before retiring from racing at age eight to become a broodmare for Bunbury. She produced the stallion Muley, which in turn sired the mare Marpessa (dam of Pocahontas and grandam of Stockwell) and the influential stallion Leviathan which was exported to the United States in the early nineteenth century.

He was by Hurry On and out of Double Life, a foundation mare of the famous British stud, Someries Stud. Hurry On, the sire of Precipitation, was unbeaten in his six starts and sired three winners of The Derby during the 1920s. Double Life was a good racemare that won six races worth £5,647 and then proved to be an exceptional broodmare. Her foals included Casanova (a winner and a good sire), Persian Gulf (Coronation Cup and outstanding sire) and Doubleton who was the grandam of Meld.

In the book, Acorna has finally been reunited with her people - the Linyaari -and has travelled to the new homeworld of her people Narhii - Vhiliinyar to learn about her lost culture. However, she is distinctly different from her people due to her unusual upbringing, and most are not accepting of her. The only people who really befriend her are her aunt, Neeva and her shipmates, and the oldest Linyaari Grandam Naadiina, as well as the young girl named Maati. All of her friends on the ship Balakiire are called away on Acorna's first day on her planet, to investigate the loss of communication with certain off-world Linyaari colonies.

Whalebone's first career start occurred on 9 May at Newmarket where Whalebone ran a dead heat and won the 50-guinea Newmarket Stakes, beating the colts Brother to Burleigh (Treasurer) and Eccleston while carrying 119 pounds. On 7 June at Epsom, Whalebone won the Derby Stakes, beating The Dandy, Eccleston and a field of eight other horses after leading from the start in a race where he "was never headed." He was the race favorite at 5 to 2, and his Derby win was a consecutive victory for the Duke of Grafton who had won the race the previous year with his colt Pope. Pope was also sired by Waxy and was out of Whalebone's maternal grandam Prunella.

The victory was reportedly well-received owing to the popularity of Jim Joel, who was winning his first classic since Royal Palace's great-grandam Picture Play won the 1000 Guineas in 1944. At Epsom Downs Racecourse on 7 June, Royal Palace started 7/4 favourite for the Derby. An unusual feature of the build-up to the race was the huge public gamble on the outsider El Mighty, who was backed from odds of 200/1 to 25/1 after a Peterborough shopkeeper claimed to have seen the horse winning in a dream. El Mighty led the field into the straight, but Royal Palace was always well placed and took the lead two furlongs from the finish.

Preserve was retired from racing to become a broodmare for her owner's stud. The most successful of her offspring was the gelding Ariosto whose wins included the Craven Stakes and the Trial Stakes, but she had a long-lasting influence on the breed through two of her daughters. Apricot, foaled in 1844, was the grandam of Coturnix (1871) the female ancestor of the Derby and Grand Prix de Paris winner Spearmint. The descendants of Coturnix's sister Raker (1881) were exported to the United States where they have been successful to the present day: members of this branch of the family include Awesome Again, High Quest, Arts and Letters, Grindstone, Pass Catcher, Silverbulletday and the Melbourne Cup winner At Talaq.

Sea-Bird was a chestnut horse with a narrow white blaze and white socks on his hind legs bred at the stables of his owner, the Lille textile manufacturer Jean Ternynck. Described by Timeform as "a tall, well-made horse", Sea-Bird was sired by the French Derby runner-up Dan Cupid, and trained, like his sire, in France by Etienne Pollet at Chantilly. None of his five immediate dams ever won a flat race, although his great-grandam Couleur did produce Camaree, who won the 1000 Guineas in 1950, and Sea Bird was more distantly related to the Belmont Stakes winner High Echelon. On the racetrack, Sea-Bird's dam, Sicalade, dead-heated once for second place as a two-year-old in what was her only season to race.

Figge competed in the US Formula Ford 2000 championship in 2001, running with Lightspeed Motorsports and Cape Motorsports, then moved up to the Toyota Atlantic series where he finished 18th (partial season), 9th, and 7th in the standings during his three year stay from 2002 to 2004. In 2005 he made 7 starts in the GT1 class of the American Le Mans Series where he earned one podium and six top five finishes with teammate Ryan Dalziel. In 2005, he also made his Grand-Am Rolex Sports Car Series Daytona Prototype class debut with Dalziel, where they earned a 6th place finish in their only race of the season.GRAND-AM Results , GRANDAM Road Racing In 2006 he drove a full Daytona Prototype schedule and earned 3 top-5 finishes and finished 16th in driver points for Pacific Coast Motorsports, which was owned by Tyler Tedevic, Shelly Tedevic and Tom Figge.
