The radio's announcements often cause troubles for Tom, as in The Missing Mouse (1953), Jerry and the Lion (1950), Little Runaway (1952) and Down Beat Bear (1956), fear in Fraidy Cat (1942), embarrassment in Jerry's Diary (1949) and Life with Tom (1953) or as in Jerry and the Goldfish (1951) may be the cause of evil intentions. Radio has been voiced by Martha Wentworth in Fraidy Cat, by Paul Frees in The Missing Mouse and Jerry and the Lion, Joseph Forte in Jerry's Diary and Daws Butler in Jerry and the Goldfish, while others are not known.

John Glover characterizes Lionel as a businessman who is disappointed with his son. To Glover, Lionel is this "rich and powerful businessman" who sees his son as a "wuss" and "fraidy-cat". It was important to Glover that Lionel appear as human as possible; Glover said he does not want to simply "twirl [his] mustache". Glover described Lionel as a man who will do whatever he needs to do to get what he wants.

Lynn Claymore inherits an estate in a Florida swamp from an uncle he never knew. His lawyer Richard Mason accompanies him to the property. A strange Chinese man is seen wandering the grounds at night, and a man in a cape is spotted skulking down the corridors by Claymore's clichéd "fraidy-cat" black manservant Trohelius. Then a young woman named Mary Bronson shows up, asking to be allowed in to escape an assailant with a knife who she says was stalking her.

With Treasure Planet completed in 2002, Clements and Musker later inherited Fraidy Cat, which was originally a project developed by Dutch animation director Piet Kroon. However, David Stainton, then-president of Walt Disney Feature Animation, refused to green-light the project. which was followed with Clements and Musker's resignation from Disney in September 2005. The syndication format featured new opening credits and "bumpers" featuring the Goolies interacting with characters from the various shows, while the original end credits for each series was retained. The Evil Scientist family, consisting of J. (who is also referred to by his wife as "Boris" in his first animated appearance), his wife Goonda, and son Junior, debuted on October 17, 1959, when Junior was baby-sat by Snooper and Blabber in "The Big Diaper Caper". They subsequently appeared in other Snooper and Blabber cartoons, including "Snap Happy Saps", "Surprised Party", and "Chilly Chiller". Jack Zander was born on May 3, 1908 in Kalamazoo, Michigan as Arthur Jack Zander. Among the cartoons he helped animate were Puss Gets the Boot (1940), The Midnight Snack (1941), The Night Before Christmas (1941), Fraidy Cat (1942), Fine Feathered Friend (1942), War Dogs (1943) and Sufferin' Cats! (1943). He joined the Metro-Goldwyn-Mayer cartoon studio in 1937, and worked on MGM cartoons based on comic strips, including The Captain and the Kids and Count Screwloose. He also worked on Harman-Ising cartoons at MGM, including The Little Goldfish (1939), Goldilocks and the Three Bears (1939), The Mad Maestro (1939) and the Barney Bear series.

Todd first made a name for himself as the drummer for the Fairfax, Virginia hair metal band, "Fraidy Cat" in the late 1980s. In 1991, he co-founded the popular Northern Virginia alternative pop-rock band, "The Excentrics," featuring himself on lead vocals and guitar, Dan Rebeiz on guitar, Dean Millard on bass, and 'Spy' Pagonis on drums. The group produced a 1992 demo and three studio albums: "Why the Long Face" in 1993; "Insult to Injury" in 1995; and "Perfect Nervous Breakdown" in 1999. Todd started out as a drummer before getting the itch to move from behind the kit to the front of the stage to allow his story telling abilities to really shine.

In 2006, a niche-marketed division, S4 VFX, was formed to produce MPAA-certified fixes such as object removal and replacement within trailers to accommodate a wide release of PG-rated motion pictures in American cinemas. In 2007, S4 Studios established themselves in the emerging HDTV market, creating a series of original branding campaigns for NBC Universal’s Emerging Networks division, including launches for Chiller Network, Sleuth, and Universal HD, the division’s umbrella network. In 2008, the studio wrote and produced Fraidy Cat, their first self-created Flash Animation short film. In 2006, S4 Studios partner Geoffrey Kater wrote and illustrated a pair of companion books, Design First for 3D Artists, through Wordware Publishing, and the Design First for 3D Sketchbook.
