The 2000–01 Karnataka State Film Awards were presented by Government of Karnataka to felicitate the best of Kannada Cinema released in the year 2000. The awards were announced by the Minister of State for Information B. K. Chandrashekar, and M. S. Sathyu, the Chairman of the Film Awards Committee on 28 May 2001. Sathyu criticized the films of the year in that "most of the films were substandard and were marked by sex and violence. Women were depicted lowly, and most of the films had no message to convey leave alone being educative", while adding that the films also had "fascist tendency" in them.

Sangram Singh Foundation organised the first wrestling awards to felicitate and honour the forgotten heroes from wrestling who had won individual medals for India over the years on 16 September 2017 in New Delhi. Dadasaheb Phalke award for D. Ramanaidu was announced prior to the announcement of 57th National Film Awards on 9 September 2010. With 57th National Film Awards, for feature film section, National Film Award for Best Screenplay, Best Audiography and Best Music Direction have been split into multiple awards to felicitate different aspect of the techniques. Best Screenplay would now cover Original and Adapted Screenplay along with Dialogues. National Film Award for Best Audiography have been sub-categorized into Location sound recordist, Sound designer and Re- recordist of the final mixed track; whereas Best Music Direction will be given for Songs and Background score, separately.

Young people from the nearest city to the temple volunteering for the people would come from long distance to be blessed by the Deity, with a great concentration, eagerness to the worship of the Deity and often bowing by shouting "Oom Dhaka eswari". In present days, each year, the largest celebration of Durga puja (the most important event in the Bengali Hindu calendar) in Dhaka is held at the National Temple, and a stream of dignitaries come to felicitate the Bangladeshi Hindu community from the temple premises. Several thousand worshippers and onlookers stream through the premises where they are offered prasad (food – usually rice and lentils).
