They advocated instead for methods which were controlled by women, such as diaphragms and spermicidal douches. Despite social and legal opposition, at the end of the 19th century the condom was the Western world's most popular birth control method. Two surveys conducted in New York in 1890 and 1900 found that 45% of the women surveyed were using condoms to prevent pregnancy. A survey in Boston just prior to World War I concluded that three million condoms were sold in that city every year.

123-126 Lanteen Laboratories had been organized in 1928, with 90% of its stock owned by Riddlesbarger. Lanteen sold a comprehensive line of products, including contraceptive jellies, douches, tampons and suppositories. The proceeds from Riddlesbarger's venture went to purchase a ranch in southern Arizona which he named Lanteen Ranch, now listed on the National Register of Historic Places as Kinjockity Ranch. The eleven-track album was released on vinyl, compact disc and digital download with Asthmatic Kitty Records, on 22 August 2006. It is produced and engineered by Worden, with additional engineering from Joel Shearer, mixed by Andrew Sheps, and mastered by Alan Douches. The album draws comparison to the music of PJ Harvey, Portishead's Beth Gibbons, and Björk. The song "The Robin's Jar" explores loss and childhood trauma, about a dead bird placed in a jar for it to be reborn, and as an analogy to the death of a loved one in adulthood.
After signing with Pluto Records, the band released their first album, This Grave Is My Poem, with the help of Jeremy Staska at Studio 13 and Allan Douches at West West side for mastering duties. After this release, they spent the next year touring national with other bands, as well as headlining their own tour. After the tours had completed, they began working on their new album. During another concert tour, two members departed the band, leaving Dale Dupree, Josh Lightfoot and Brandon Pangle as the remaining members of Imperial.
The band recorded their first full-length album Left Hand Man throughout late 2006 and 2007, released on Kultland Recordings on September 18, 2007. Mastering was handled by Alan Douches (Mastodon, Converge, The Misfits) of West West Side Music in New Jersey. The album garnered the band some attention among the underground doom, metal, and stoner rock scenes, as well as radio play from local KROQ-FM affiliate 92.3. College radio picked up on the band's retro/doom/metal sound, and college stations across the country began playing the album in moderate rotation.
Immediately after the release of Left Hand Man, the band finished writing and recording the follow-up album, Crowe Valley Blues. In the fall of 2008 local Parma, Ohio businessman and club owner, Phil Lara, promised financial backing for tour support and the recording and release of Crowe Valley Blues. When this deal fell through in a Cleveland scene-wide scandal, the release of Crowe Valley Blues was put on hold indefinitely. With Lara's deal broken, the band was unable to fund the mastering of the album, again by Alan Douches.

For Cuevas, le Palace was a less fun than the Sept: "It sounded so repetitive to my ears I had to fight against boredom. I wanted to create something, to invent, but I got stuck slapping the same hits on the turntable." When he moved on, he worked as a host with Paquita Paquin in the downstairs club, called Le Privilege, before he left the club for good in 1982. Afterward, Cuevas worked for several years as an artistic director, first of the club Bains Douches on rue du Bourg l'Abbé, then at the Barrio Latio on rue du Faubourg Saint-Antoine.

Vaginal douche apparatus with five quart tank from 1905 nursing text Vaginal douches may consist of water, water mixed with vinegar, or even antiseptic chemicals. Douching has been touted as having a number of supposed but unproven benefits. In addition to promising to clean the vagina of unwanted odors, it can also be used by women who wish to avoid smearing a sexual partner's penis with menstrual blood while having sexual intercourse during menstruation. In the past, douching was also used after intercourse as a method of birth control, though it is not effective (see below).

A limited edition version of the album was planned to be sold at the Fireside Bowl, Chicago, at the album release show on June 22, 2002. Due to problems during the pressing of the album, The Killing Tree had to 'pool their resources' in order to make 100 copies available at the show. These 100 limited copies were sold out at the release show. The 200 delayed copies soon arrived, and featured the same album artwork, but a slightly different insert and disk design as the previous limited edition CD. These editions of the album were mastered by Alan Douches.
The box set included all three compilation albums as well as a disc with all fourteen Static Age tracks that had been mixed in 1978. The remaining three tracks, "She", "Spinal Remains", and "In the Doorway", were mixed by Alan Douches and Tom Bejgrowicz on February 24, 1997 at West West Side Music and were included when Static Age was finally released as a standalone album that July. "In the Doorway" had never before been released, as it had remained unmixed on the master tapes for nineteen years. The album also included an unlisted eighteenth track consisting of a collage of studio banter and outtakes.
Throughout the last couple of years of Rhodes working as a harbourmaster, he lobbied the government to establish a weather station on Willis Island. Rhodes was eventually rewarded in 1921 when weather monitoring equipment was erected on the island. The Daily Commercial News and Shipping praised Rhodes' persistence in his quest to make shipping off the North Queensland coast safer during cyclone seasons despite repeated "cold douches" by Federal Government departments. In his mission to get the weather station established, Rhodes wrote to sea captains, shipping companies and the Queensland Chamber of Commerce, and inundated Queensland newspapers with "propaganda" about his proposal, which they agreed to publish.
It is typical for a man to not reach orgasm as a receptive partner solely from anal sex. Some women also engage in anal masturbation. Alfred Kinsey in "Sexual Behavior in the Human Female" documented that "There still [are] other masturbatory techniques which were regularly or occasionally employed by some 11 percent of the females in the sample ... enemas, and other anal insertions, ... were employed." Enemas or anal douches can, for hygienic reasons, be taken prior to anal masturbation if desired, but also, as noted above by Kinsey, enemas can be used as a form of anal masturbation, sexual arousal by enemas being known as klismaphilia.
Enuresis was first documented in Ebers Papyrus in 1550 BCE. Roman author Gaius Plinius Secundus (CE 23/24–79) (Pliny the Elder) documents nocturnal enuresis in his work, "Natural History" (CE 77), stating that "the incontinence of urine in infants is checked by giving boiled mice in their food." Furthermore, in the eighteenth century, children with enuresis was subjected to a variety of chemical and mechanical treatments including fluid restriction, enemata, the use of an alarm clock, cold baths, warm baths, cold dashes to the perineum and douches to the lower spine. Enuresis has previously been documented as an occurrence in members of the military.
III was produced at Toronto's Hallamusic studio, mixed by long-time friend and collaborator Donny Cooper, and mastered by Alan Douches at West West Side Music, with cover art by Baroness' John Dyer Baizley. The band had long been touring internationally but, for this album, it played six weekends of strictly Southern Ontario DIY shows. The official release show was in Toronto, at a sold out Lee's Palace, with 50Watthead, Career Suicide and Living Darkness. The band then went on a European tour and, on May 22, 2008, Chris Colohan announced from Germany that the band had been robbed of their passports, and all of their money and tour expenses.
Recording took place in 2013 at Atomic Audio studios in Tampa, Florida with Mark Nikolich, who also recorded the band's self-titled album in 2001. These tracks were then sent to Kurt Ballou at GodCity studio who did the mixing, and then to Alan Douches who mastered them. The band continued their signature down-tuned guitar sound on the album including extended use of the "bomb string/note", an E string that is so loosely strung to the guitar that, in the words of one critic was described as creating a shuddering explosion of sludgy distortion. Another described it as "A guitar string tuned so low it flaps like a pensioner's bingo wing".

Early forms of bottle service existed in World War II era Japan, where unfinished bottles would be stored. In its modern form, an early example was in 1988 at the Paris nightclub Les Bains Douches, bottle service was introduced to deal with an excess of customer demand. An early, inexpensive form of bottle service ($90, compared with $6 drinks) was established at the Tunnel in New York City in 1993 (by Jeffrey Jah and Mark Baker). The modern form of bottle service was pioneered in 1995 by Michael Ault at Spy Bar and in 1996, Chaos ($175 for a bottle of Stolichnaya vodka), with the goal of creating a "barrier to entry", rather than of increasing liquor sales.
Endometriosis was first discovered microscopically by Karl von Rokitansky in 1860, although the earliest antecedents may have stemmed from concepts published almost 4,000 years ago. The Hippocratic Corpus outlines symptoms similar to endometriosis, including uterine ulcers, adhesions, and infertility. Historically, women with these symptoms were treated with leeches, straitjackets, bloodletting, chemical douches, genital mutilation, pregnancy (as a form of treatment), hanging upside down, surgical intervention, and even killing due to suspicion of demonic possession. Hippocratic doctors recognized and treated chronic pelvic pain as a true organic disorder 2,500 years ago, but during the Middle Ages, there was a shift into believing that women with pelvic pain were mad, immoral, imagining the pain, or simply misbehaving.
In 1983, Williams formed a new band under the Christian Death name, this time with former members of Pompeii 99, with whom Christian Death had performed at a live show the previous year. This page from Sanger's Family Limitation, 1917 edition, describes a cervical cap Some countries in northwestern Europe had more liberal policies towards contraception than the United States at the time, and when Sanger visited a Dutch birth control clinic in 1915, she learned about diaphragms and became convinced that they were a more effective means of contraception than the suppositories and douches that she had been distributing back in the United States. Diaphragms were generally unavailable in the United States, so Sanger and others began importing them from Europe, in defiance of United States law. On October 16, 1916, Sanger opened a family planning and birth control clinic at 46 Amboy Street in the Brownsville neighborhood of Brooklyn, the first of its kind in the United States.Selected Papers, vol.
Vaginal discharge may indicate a vaginal infection by color and odor, or the resulting symptoms of discharge, such as irritation or burning. Abnormal vaginal discharge may be caused by STIs, diabetes, douches, fragranced soaps, bubble baths, birth control pills, yeast infection (commonly as a result of antibiotic use) or another form of vaginitis. While vaginitis is an inflammation of the vagina, and is attributed to infection, hormonal issues, or irritants, vaginismus is an involuntary tightening of the vagina muscles during vaginal penetration that is caused by a conditioned reflex or disease. Vaginal discharge due to yeast infection is usually thick, creamy in color and odorless, while discharge due to bacterial vaginosis is gray-white in color, and discharge due to trichomoniasis is usually a gray color, thin in consistency, and has a fishy odor.
Sankey continued contributing material for Divine Heresy and was also invited to jam with numerous other bands including Prong, All That Remains and Daughters Of Mara when those bands were searching for a permanent drummer, but Sankey would go on to focus his efforts full-time with Devolved. The band was then signed by renowned extreme metal label Unique Leader Records who decided to re-release 'Calculated' worldwide since it had only been previously available in Australia. New Vocalist Kyle Zemanek re-recorded all the vocals, and the album was re-mixed by famed producer Neil Kernon (Cannibal Corpse, Nile, Judas Priest, Nevermore, Deicide) and re-mastered by Alan Douches (Sepultura, Hatebreed, Unearth, Shadows Fall, God Forbid). It was released by Unique Leader in 2009 and Devolved performed numerous successful tours through various parts of the USA.
Paths of Possession debuted their new/current lineup at the second Gathering of Lowlifes Festival on April 9, 2005, appearing with the newly reformed Hallow's Eve as well as Dark Faith, Gardy Loo and Eviscerated Zombie Tampon. It was also during this time that Metal Blade Records owner Brian Slagel, after hearing The Crypt of Madness, approached Fisher about signing Paths of Possession, which came about in 2005. Paths of Possession entered Mana Recording Studios / Razzor Media in St. Petersburg, Florida to record Promises in Blood, with renowned metal producer Erik Rutan (Hate Eternal, Soilent Green, Into the Moat). Once the recording was finished, Promises in Blood was sent off to West West Side in New York City to be mastered by Alan Douches, best known for his work with artists such as Nile, Sepultura, Hatebreed, Clutch, Unearth, The Misfits, Mastodon, Shadows Fall, The Dillinger Escape Plan, Converge and Earth Crisis.
London clubs such as Clink Street, Revolution in Progress (RiP), Philip Sallon's The Mudd Club, Danny Rampling's Shoom (starting in December 1987 in the basement of Southwark's Fitness Centre and here Andrew Weatherall played), Paul Oakenfold's Spectrum, and Nicky Holloway's The Trip fused the eclecticism and ethos of [Ibiza with the new electronic music from the USA. The largest UK cities like Birmingham, Leeds (The Orbit), Liverpool (Quadrant Park and 051), Manchester (The Haçienda), Newcastle, and Swansea, and several key European places like Paris (Les Bains Douches), Ibiza (Pacha), and Rimini, also played a significant role in the evolution of clubbing, DJ culture, and nightlife. Significant New York nightclubs of the period were Area, Danceteria, and The Limelight. However, the seismic shift in nightlife was the emergence of rave culture in the UK. A mixture of free and commercial outdoor parties were held in fields, warehouses, and abandoned buildings, by various groups such as Biology, Sunrise, Confusion, Hedonism, Rage & Energy, and many others.
Hybrid was formed in March 2004 when Chus Maestro (One Last Word, Supra and formerly in Another Kind Of Death) recruited members from Human Mincer and Wormed to set up an extreme music project that would break down the walls of mainstream music. With Kike and Unai García, they began to write songs they later recorded in June 2005 as the band’s debut EP: Beyond Undeniable Entropy, a 6-song MCD of avant-garde, eclectic math metal, which was released the following year by Deadwrong Records. The band has been playing live with Tool and Deftones at the Festimad Sur'06, as well as with Napalm Death, Cephalic Carnage, Textures, Misery Index Moho, Machetazo and Looking For An Answer between others. In the beginning of 2007 Hybrid entered Sadman Studio to record their first full-length album: The 8th Plague, mastered by Alan Douches (Mastodon, The Dillinger Escape Plan) with artwork by Seldon Hunt (Isis, Neurosis).
During the performance, the band has announced that the album was once again delayed to an unknown date in 2010 since it was not mastered yet, and performed a new song, entitled "Heavensent", along with Tomer Jones of Whorecore. In May 2009, it was announced that the album will go into the mastering stage between May 18–25, 2009, at West West Side Music Studios, in New Windsor, New York by Alan Douches, who previously worked with such bands as Through the Eyes of the Dead, Beneath the Massacre and A Life Once Lost. On August 27, 2010, the band played their first show of 2010, at the Heavy Metal Tel Aviv as their alter ego band HC/DC which features the band members, with additional guitarist Alex Schuster, though the band played strictly AC/DC covers, and not any songs from Betzefer. Alongside the band played such acts as Sabaton, Tim "Ripper" Owens, Nightmare and Almana Shchora. On September 28, 2010, the band performed as part of Ozzfest, taking place in Israel for the first time, alongside Ozzy Osbourne, Korn, Soulfly and Almana Shchora.
