Except for the LSA's relatively generous MTOW of 1320 pounds, the other countries' microlight definitions are typically less restrictive, not limiting airspeed or the use of variable-pitch propellers.
For safety, all certificated, single-engine fixed-wing aircraft, including certificated gliders, must meet specified criteria regarding stall and spin behavior. Complying designs typically have a wing with greater angle of attack at the wing root than at the wing tip, so that the wing root stalls first, reducing the severity of the wing drop at the stall and possibly also allowing the ailerons to remain somewhat effective until the stall migrates outward toward the wing tip. One method of tailoring such stall behavior is known as washout. Some designers of recreational aircraft seek to develop an aircraft that is characteristically incapable of spinning, even in an uncoordinated stall.

Frequently certificated officers, both deck and engineering, built careers within specific shipping companies and only sailed aboard ships owned by that company. They were often able to progress on the basis of being requested by a master who had just gained his own command. Sometimes senior ratings such as Carpenters, Boatswains, Quarter Masters, Donkeymen and particularly Chief Stewards also preferred this career path and like their officers could even remain aboard a favoured ship for a decade or more.Foss (1992), p.

It must be mixed before use (liquid resin and powdered catalyst). It has a dark purple color, which may be objectionable in some uses. Toxic. For many years, the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) has stated that "Resorcinol is the only known adhesive recommended and approved for use in wooden aircraft structure and fully meets necessary strength and durability requirements" for certificated aircraft.
CAB investigators also probed the maintenance history of the aircraft. Earlier in the year, the plane had been involved in two separate "hard" landings that had been reported by crews. In the first, certificated mechanics performed a visual inspection of the aircraft, but the maintenance records showed that one of the most time- consuming steps of the inspection, the inspection of the wing spar webs, had been skipped. In the second incident, the inspecting mechanics did not make a written report of the inspection.

Book entry is a system of tracking ownership of securities where no certificate is given to investors.See Black’s Law Dictionary 74 (2d Pocket Ed. 2001.) Several terms are often used interchangeably with "book entry" shares including "paperless shares", "electronic shares", "digital shares", "digital stock certificates", and "uncertificated shares". Some of these terms have somewhat different connotations but, at least in the United States, state securities laws only recognize certificated and uncertificated shares. In the case of book-entry-only (BEO) issues, while investors do not receive certificates, a custodian holds one or more global certificates.

Per FAR Part 61 SFAR 73 section 2, Robinson helicopters have a 20-hour requirement to solo. However, the regulations do require that a student pilot show competency in several specific skills to include, for example, the ability to forward slip. In practice, competence is mostly a judgment call of the Certificated Flight Instructor (CFI) responsible for the student. Typically, it takes from 10 to 30 hours of flight time before a pilot has the instinctive feel of an aircraft to be safe flying solo in other than perfect (no wind) weather.
This qualified the person as a Trainee Technician, and after a period (usually around a year) on the road, a plenary examination is taken to complete the training and become a Qualified Ambulance Technician (QAT). Whilst now deprecated by the NHS services, the qualification is still available as a BTEC level 4, and can be trained by the ambulance services or a number of private training providers. The IHCD emergency driving programme was certificated as a 'stand-alone' qualification. Alternative qualifications exist, especially in the private sector, although there is no set standard between qualifications.

From the Capitol to the bargaining table, CSEA has pursued the interests of classified employees up and down the state, transforming non-certificated, “support staff” into classified professionals and respected partners in the education community.
This fail-safe principle is not necessary in airplanes and helicopters that are not certificated in the transport category. If an element in a transport category airplane or helicopter is not highly critical, or if its failure is relatively benign, it is possible for that element not to be duplicated. For example, most transport category airplanes do not have duplicated nosewheel assemblies; and some do not have duplicated wheels on each main undercarriage. A transport category helicopter is permitted to have only one main rotor head, and may have only one engine.
States are required, according to ICAO Annex 13, on Aircraft Accident and Incident Investigation, to report to ICAO information, on accidents and serious incidents to aircraft with a maximum certificated take-off mass (MTOM) over 2250 kg. Therefore, most statistics in this review concern aircraft above this mass. In addition to the ICAO data, a request was made to the EASA Member States to obtain light aircraft accident data. Furthermore, data on the operation of aircraft for commercial air transport were obtained from both ICAO and the NLR Air Transport Safety Institute.
In fall 2002 the third single, "Le Deseo" was released, and the album became a hit, up to No. 12 some weeks, and certificated gold, and a months later, platinum. The first E-Jet E2, an E190-E2, was rolled out on 25 February 2016 and made its maiden flight on 23 May in São José dos Campos. It flew for three hours and twenty minutes to Mach 0.82, climbed to 41,000 feet, retracted the landing gear and flaps, and engaged the fly-by-wire in normal mode. It flew earlier than the previously anticipated second half of 2016.
The retirement life of the spars in the horizontal tailplanes and the vertical fin was 30,000 flights. The retirement life of the wing spar of a transport category aeroplane type-certificated to the safe-life principle is based on a safety factor applied to data obtained from flight tests and information about properties of the spar material. The life of 11,400 flights for the Viscount inner lower boom was based on safety factors of 3.5 for the ground-air-ground cycle and 5.0 for fatigue damage due to atmospheric gusts.
The Institute of Certificated Grocers was incorporated on 11 November 1909 and its first registered offices were at 24 Bedford Sq, London. It brought together a number of "public-spirited employers and others interested in the grocery trade" who had "begun to start technical instruction committees and local classes for the furtherance of the teaching of those who were going to take part in the trade." Sir William Anson MP, was the organisation's first president. Russell Parnham Spink, Chairman of the Council of the Institute was awarded a C.B.E. in the 1963 New Year Honours.
Following a three-year assignment to pursue full-time studies as a doctoral candidate at Wright-Patterson Air Force Base, Ohio, he was assigned to the Air Force Test Pilot School where he served as the Director of Plans and Programs, taught academics, and instructed students on flight test techniques in the F-15, F-16, and gliders. Ford has 3500 flying hours and holds FAA commercial certificates for airplanes, helicopters, and gliders. He is a certificated flight instructor in airplanes and gliders. Ford retired from the Air Force in June 2008 as a Colonel.

In July 2015, the retail stockbroker completed the integration of more than 11,000 Barclays’ customers. The Share Centre offers a professional platform from which to perform online dealing in stocks and shares with a share account.
The primary role of the CAB was to regulate scheduled commercial airline operations in the United States. The CAB strictly controlled all U.S. certificated airlines ("scheduled carriers") -- deciding which routes would be serviced by which airlines, and setting minimum limits on passenger fares (comparable to the Interstate Commerce Commission) -- effectively managing competition between airlines, and ensuring certain levels of service to communities throughout the United States.Brown, John Howard (assoc. prof., Dept of Finance & Economics, Georgia Southern University) (with credit to Alfred Kahn, last CAB Chairman) "Jimmy Carter, Alfred Kahn, and Airline Deregulation: Anatomy of a Policy Success," Summer 2014, The Independent Review, vol.
Reserve parachute (right) in use In the US and in most of the western world, skydivers are required to wear two parachutes. The reserve parachute must be periodically inspected and re-packed (whether used or not) by a certified parachute rigger (in the US, an FAA certificated parachute rigger every 180 days). Many skydivers use an automatic activation device (AAD) that opens the reserve parachute at a pre-determined altitude if it detects that the skydiver is still in free fall. Depending on the country, AADs are often mandatory for new jumpers, and/or required for all jumpers regardless of their experience level.
Tower Air was a certificated FAR 121 U.S. charter airline that also operated scheduled passenger service from 1983 until 2000 when the company declared bankruptcy and was liquidated. Scheduled flights were initially offered over a New York – Brussels – Tel Aviv route in addition to charter flights to Athens, Frankfurt, Rome, and Zurich. Short-lived New York – Los Angeles flights were introduced with the addition of an ex-Avianca Boeing 747-100 in 1984. The airline was headquartered in Building 178 and later in Hangar 17 at John F. Kennedy International Airport in Jamaica, Queens, New York City.
In 1971, the Hong Kong government suggested unpegging the salaries of the certificated masters to the nurses to cut their salaries by 15 per cent which sparked an uproar among the teachers. Szeto Wah was actively involved in the opposition campaign and the founding of the Hong Kong Professional Teachers' Union (HKPTU) in 1972 as the founding vice-chairman under Tsin Sai-nin. In April 1973, Szeto Wah took a leading role in two waves of labour strikes. After the strikes, the teachers negotiated with government representative Jack Cater with Bishop Francis Hsu as the meditator.
The Yellow Ribbon Culinary Programme is organised by YRP to allow inmates an opportunity to improve their culinary skills through a certified training course to earn certificated qualification. The certifications seek to help increase inmates' employability after their release. Graduation ceremonies were held in 2010 and 2012 to present inmate-graduates with the Certificate in Basic Culinary Skills Course, conducted by SHATEC Institutes. Under the Yellow Ribbon Culinary Programme, the Yellow Ribbon Culinary Competition was first held in 2007 as part of the Yellow Ribbon Creative Festival which aims to give inmates the opportunity to acquire culinary skills.
Photo of Dame Rosalind Paget, 1st Queen's Nurse and Inspector In the 1890s she played an active role in the campaign for midwife registration, giving evidence in 1892 to the select committee on midwifery, but it was not until 1902 that the Midwives Act was passed. It made it an offence for anyone not properly certificated to describe herself, or practice, as a midwife, and established the Central Midwives' Board, of which Paget was a member until 1924. She was a supporter of women's suffrage; in July 1908 she led 20 members in a suffrage procession under the banner of Florence Nightingale.
The H80 is based on the Walter M601 The H80 was launched in 2009 based on the M601: GE added a new compressor, blisks, blades and new stators to enhance power by 3% and boost efficiency by 10%. Its Russian type certificate was received in October 2012, and the engine also approved by Brazilian Civil Aviation agency (ANAC) and the Argentine Administración Nacional de Aviación Civil.
It was certificated as airworthy by the Spanish Dirección General de Aviación Civil and the American Federal Aviation Administration in December 1999. Deliveries to the Spanish Air Force began in November 2001. In 2012, Airbus Military announced several enhancements to the base C-295 design, changes included the adoption of winglets and an ability to carry the Marte anti-ship missile; a dedicated airborne early warning and control variant was also planned. In November 2015, a C-295 successfully demonstrated a new self-protection suite, which incorporated elements such as directional infrared countermeasures from Elbit Systems and infrared passive airborne warning system.
To achieve her dream of becoming a singer, she tried to get in contact with Sezen Aksu, and while she was working as a shop assistant she met Hülya Avşar who later introduced her to Aksu. She worked as Aksu's backing vocalist for a while, before working with Altan Çetin who helped her with preparing her first studio album, Senden İbaret, which was released in 2000. She later released the MÜ- YAP certificated album Sen Yoluna... Ben Yoluma... (2002), followed by Aşk Kadın Ruhundan Anlamıyor (2004) and Apayrı (2006). These albums made her one of the successful artists inside Turkey in the 2000s.
One way the agency planned to achieve that is by adopting a new noise standard for certain newly certificated subsonic jet airplanes and subsonic transport category large airplanes. A survey, the largest of its kind, about aircraft noise exposure and its effects on communities around airports was completed in 2016. The FAA will use those results and other research under way to re-evaluate criteria to define significance under the National Environmental Policy Act and federal land use guidelines. In addition, the FAA has researched other impact areas, such as sleep disturbance, cardiovascular health, and children's learning.
Douglas DC-3 of Air New England at Miami in 1974 Scheduled service began in 1970 and continued until the company went out of business in 1981. Air New England holds the distinction of being the first airline certificated by the U.S. Civil Aeronautics Board since Ozark Air Lines in 1950. In the days prior to the Airline Deregulation Act of 1978, airlines (other than small commuters) were required to operate with a Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity. Air New England operated principally with a fleet of de Havilland Canada DHC-6 Twin Otter and Fairchild Hiller FH-227 turboprop aircraft.

In 1874, in conjunction with J. Ettershank, of East Loddon, Winter visited England and successfully conducted the appeal to the Privy Council against the Crown, relative to the five shilling per acre penalty sought to be enforced against the holders of certificated lands. Mr. Winter was for some years a member of the Waranga Shire Council, being twice president, and was appointed a territorial magistrate in 1868. In 1868 Winter married the only daughter of William Drayton Taylor, J.P., of Noorilim, Goulburn. In 1871 Winter stood for the Eastern Province against Sir Francis Murphy, but ultimately retired in that gentleman's favour.
His tenth single "Hatsukoi Ressha" was released in 2005 and earned him his first number one hit, later certificated Gold by Recording Industry Association of Japan (RIAJ). With the huge commercial and critical success as an enka singer, Hikawa is often referred as the "Prince of Enka". This context was controversial within the group, and strongly opposed by member Lisa "Left Eye" Lopes, who threatened to wear black tape over her mouth on its accompanying music video. LaFace and Arista Records released the song as the album's lead single on October 31, 1994, and it gained both critical acclaim and commercial success. Music critics praised Austin's work and TLC's new musical direction, and commercially "Creep" became the group's first number one on the United States Billboard Hot 100. It topped the chart for four consecutive weeks and was later certificated platinum in sales.

The remaining 1 percent were unable to prove their HQT status and were terminated. As of May 1, 2010, the state HQT reports 95.4 percent of ASD teachers had an HQT designation in the content area they were teaching. To put this into perspective almost six years after the State adopted regulations mandating that urban District's limit instruction in core classes to HQ teachers, ASD is still out of compliance, while HQ requirements can be via Praxis examinations. The district also has approximately 225 certificated employees such as counselors, psychologists, speech pathologists, OT/PT, nurses and more.asdk12.
Modern Air Transport, Inc. (originally Modern Air Transport/MAT, subsequently Modern Air) was a United States-based non-scheduled and supplemental carrierholder of supplemental air carrier certificate authorised to operate non-scheduled passenger and cargo services to supplement the scheduled operations of certificated route air carriers; an airline holding a supplemental air carrier certificate was also known as a "nonsked" in the US founded in 1946. At different stages in its history its operations were based in Newark and Trenton, New Jersey, Baltimore, and Miami. In addition to Miami, New York used to be a base for Modern Air.
The scandal was far reaching and threatened to collapse market confidence in the GS market. The BTr facilitated the issuance of enabling regulations which did away with the need to issue GS in certificated form and allowed it to directly record new issuances within RoSS itself. As the official register, RoSS is primarily tasked with monitoring and maintaining official records of ownership over GS. In addition, RoSS also monitors and administers GS coupon and principal payments. At the same time, as official register, the BTr can accommodate investors who have a particular need or requirement to have their ownership of GS directly known to the BTr.
As a result, the teachers cancelled the third labour strike and began the negotiation process with the government. The government eventually backed down on the plan, but installed a "3-2-2" standard which raised the salaries of the certificated masters after their salary points had reached the highest levels in three, two and two years. The PTU was found in 1972 as an instrument for Tsin Sai-nin to gather teachers' votes in the 1973 Urban Council election, as Tsin was opposed by the Hong Kong Teachers' Association. After Tsin was elected, he quit the PTU preparatory committee and the chairmanship was succeeded by Szeto.
Applicants who attend an aviation maintenance school program certificated under Part 147 study an FAA-approved and supervised curriculum. Those applying for a mechanic certificate with a single rating—either Airframe or Powerplant—study a "general" set of subjects for at least 400 hours, as well as at least 750 hours of material appropriate to the chosen rating, for a total of 1,150 hours. Those who pursue both ratings study the "general" material, as well as the 750 hours for each rating, for a total of at least 1,900 hours. Completion of such a program of study typically requires between 18 and 24 months.

The pilot may choose to be trained under Part 61 or Part 141 of the FARs. Part 141 requires that a certificated flight school provide an approved, structured course of training, which includes a specified number of hours of ground training (for example, 35 hours for Private Pilot in an airplane). Part 61 sets out a list of knowledge and experience requirements, and is more suitable for students who cannot commit to a structured plan, or for training from freelance instructors. Under Part 61 pilot training, individuals can become a private pilot in about three months and a commercial pilot in as quick as seven months.
Its base is Ketchikan Harbor Seaplane Base, which shares the same harbor and airspace as Ketchikan International Airport. As per the United States Department of Transportation in a report dated August 2, 2010, Taquan Air is a "U.S. Certificated Air Carrier", and is 1 of 125 such carriers in the US. Taquan Air's heyday was in 1997 when they were the largest floatplane company in the world and the second largest air commuter service in Alaska, carrying 243,000 passengers that year. In a continuing effort to grow, they sought FAR part 121 certification, allowing them to carry more than nine passengers on a flight.
Antonov An-2, a widely-used utility aircraft Pilatus PC-12 utility turboprop aircraft A utility aircraft is a general-purpose light airplane or helicopter, usually used for transporting people, freight or other supplies, but is also used for other duties when more specialized aircraft are not required or available. The term can also refer to an aircraft type certificated under American, Canadian, European or Australian regulations as a Utility Category Aircraft, which indicates that it is permitted to conduct limited aerobatics. The approved maneuvers include chandelles, lazy eights, spins and steep turns over 60° of bank.Crane, Dale: Dictionary of Aeronautical Terms, third edition, page 535.
Aviation High School is certified by the United States Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) for the training of Aircraft Maintenance Technicians (AMTs). Students who successfully complete the school's technical programs are allowed to take their FAA certification examinations without further qualification. In order to achieve this, students at the school spend about three to four periods every day in "shop," technology related classes that concentrate on every aspect of an aircraft's structure, systems, and components, as well as more general aviation subjects such as aerodynamics and Federal Aviation Regulations. These specialized classes are taught by FAA-certificated AMTs, many of whom are themselves alumni of the school.
Webster was chosen for this job, as he had studied meteorology en route to becoming a certificated pilot. Webster was the chief weatherman at WEWS throughout the 1970s, into the 1980s, and returned to the post through most of the 1990s. Webster had left the weather desk for a time in the 1980s to become WEWS station manager, stepping down in 1989 to resume his weather duties. In addition to Upbeat and weather forecasting, Webster had also during his tenure at WEWS-TV 5 served as host for the Ohio Lottery drawings, was an original host of The Morning Exchange, and hosted a local version of Bowling for Dollars.
In France, where the CH 650 is semi-certified in the CNSK category, the kit aircraft can be assembled by amateurs and still be used by Aeroclubs and schools for flight training and banner-towing purposes. Zenair Limited on November 15, 2012 announced that its FAA type-certificated CH 2000 trainer will be assembled in Peru, South America by a joint venture involving the Peruvian armed services, the University of Perunas and SEMAN, a local aeronautical facility. Negotiations to structure the long-term program have been ongoing for the past year, with Zenair staff traveling to Lima and a contingent of Peruvian decision-makers visiting the Ontario-based factory.
He was born in Chicago, Illinois on May 25, 1891 to Royal Cooper Vilas and Carrie Logan Ward.Logan Archbold Vilas World War I draft registration In the spring of 1913 Vilas visited Glenn Curtiss in Hammondsport, New York and made a down payment on his Hydro-Aeroplane and enrolled in the Curtiss Flying School. He graduated in four weeks becoming a certificated pilot, holding U.S. Hydro-License No. 6 from the Aero Club of America. He became the first person to fly across Lake Michigan when he completed a 64 mile over-the-water flight from Silver Beach Amusement Park in St. Joseph, Michigan to Chicago on July 1, 1913.
FAA Existing certificated aircraft and experimental, amateur-built aircraft that fall within the definition listed in 14CFR1.114CFR1.1 are acceptable, as are aircraft built to an industry consensus standard rather than FAA airworthiness requirements. The accepted consensus standard is defined by ASTM International Technical Committee F37.ASTM Aircraft built to the consensus standard may be factory-built and sold with a special airworthiness certification (S-LSA) or may be assembled from a kit under the experimental rules (E-LSA) under experimental airworthiness. A company must have produced and certified at least one S-LSA in order to be permitted to sell E-LSA kits of the same model.
In 1939 the Four Wheel Drive Auto Company (FWD), a major manufacturer of four-wheel transmissions and heavy-duty trucks based in Clintonville, Wisconsin, opened a flight department and traded a company truck for a Waco biplane for their company's use. In 1944 company executives decided to start an airline named Wisconsin Central Airlines, and service started between six Wisconsin cities in 1946. This led the company to buy two Cessna UC-78 Bobcats, and, soon after, three Lockheed Electra 10As. Certificated flights started with Electras to 19 airports on 25 February 1948; more revenue allowed three more Electra 10As, then six Douglas DC-3s.
It is not normal practice in the UK for nominees to arrange for copies of accounts and other shareholder communications to be sent to the beneficial owners of the shares. The UK Shareholders Association has published a list of the disadvantages for UK customers of nominee accounts compared with certificated ownership or direct electronic ownership (CREST). Because investment firms offering nominee services are the legal owners of the shares, there remains a risk of improper behavior causing the shares to be lost. For example, the investment firm may use the shares it holds for short selling transactions and be unable to replace the shares if the investment firm becomes insolvent.
In 1954, he ran on the Republican ticket for the New York Court of Appeals, but was defeated by Democrat/Liberal Adrian P. Burke. On January 1, 1960, Foster was appointed to the Court of Appeals by Governor Nelson A. Rockefeller to fill the vacancy caused by the election of Charles S. Desmond as Chief Judge. In November 1960, Foster he ran on the Republican and Liberal tickets to succeed himself, and was elected. He retired from the Court of Appeals at the end of 1963 when he reached the constitutional age limit of 70 years, and returned to the Supreme Court as a certificated trial justice until 1967.
The wing of the Vickers Viscount used a single main spar made up of a centre-section in the fuselage, two inner sections and two outer sections. The main spar comprised an upper boom, a shear web and a lower boom. The aircraft was designed and type-certificated to the principle of a safe- life. Before a component reaches its safe-life it must be removed from the aircraft and retired. At the time of the accident the retirement life of the lower boom in the centre-section was 20,500 flights; the inner lower boom was 11,400 flights; and the outer lower boom was 19,000 flights.
Areas in the continental United States served by the Essential Air Service The Essential Air Service (EAS) is a U.S. government public service obligation style program enacted to guarantee that small communities in the United States, which, prior to deregulation, were served by certificated airlines, maintained commercial service. Its aim is to maintain a minimal level of scheduled air service to these communities that otherwise would not be profitable. This came in response to the Airline Deregulation Act, passed in 1978, which gave U.S. airlines almost total freedom to determine which markets to serve domestically and what fares to charge for that service. The program is codified at .
Calling it "dirt for dirt's sake," he wrote that the book was "devoid of theme or idea" and that it contained "a constant repetition of patently offensive words used solely to convey debasing portrayals of natural and unnatural sexual experience." The United States Supreme Court later ruled that the book could not be banned. He was a delegate to the New York State Constitutional Convention of 1967. He retired from the Court of Appeals at the end of 1972 when he reached the constitutional age limit of 70 years, and returned to the Supreme Court, at Riverhead, Long Island, as a certificated trial justice until 1976.
The one-engine inoperative (OEI) service ceiling of a twin-engine, fixed-wing aircraft is the density altitude at which flying in a clean configuration, at the best rate of climb airspeed for that altitude with one engine producing maximum continuous power and the other engine shut down and feathered, will produce a given rate of climb, usually . However, some performance charts will define the service ceiling as the pressure altitude at which the aircraft will have the capability of climbing at with one propeller feathered. Most commercial jetliners have a service (or certificated) ceiling of about and some business jets about .See e.g.

In 1922, the Bristol Aeroplane Company developed a pair of related light aircraft designs, powered by the Bristol Lucifer three-cylinder radial engine, the Type 73 Taxiplane, a three-seat light utility aircraft and tourer, and the Type 83 Primary Trainer, a two-seat trainer intended for use for primary training at Reserve Flying Schools. The Taxiplane was constructed of wood with fabric covering, and was fitted with single-bay biplane wings. It carried two passengers side by side in a cockpit behind the pilot. The first Taxiplane, registered G-EBEW, flew on 13 February 1923, but could be certificated only as a two-seater, being overweight with two passengers and a pilot.
She occasionally made excursions to Portaferry on the Ards Peninsula, Ardglass in south Down, and Larne and Portrush on the coast of County Antrim in addition to her regular scheduled route on Belfast Lough. The Board of Trade certificated Slieve Bearnagh to carry 958 passengers along the coast between Belfast and Bangor or 871 passengers on the more open sea voyage between Belfast and Larne. A report by the B&CDR;'s General Manager records that in November 1904 her Master, Captain McCorquodale, was summonsed for overloading the ship. At the end of the 1911 summer season the B&CDR; ordered a replacement ship for £24,000 and put Slieve Bearnagh up for sale for £12,000.

The airport complex has 26 open aircraft parkings, 12 of them are within walking distance from the terminal.
Carleton directed pre-service testing of JATO at La Paz, Bolivia, for aircraft operations at high altitude airports in the region, in early January 1949. Braniff became the first airline to be certificated by the Civil Aeronautics Authority, as a result of the successful completion of the Carleton-led tests, to operate JATO aircraft at La Paz. Carleton also flew the carrier's first proving flight over the Andean mountain range between Lima and Rio de Janeiro which led to the first non stop flights between the two opposite coastal points. He also oversaw the development of terminals at Campo Grande, Brazil; Guayaquil, Ecuador; and La Paz and Santa Cruz, Bolivia. In 1952, Carleton was appointed the Operations Manager.
The district is renowned for the cone-shaped volcanic rock formations, numbering at about eighty, in the nearby Yanıkyöre (literally the burnt land) area, also sometimes still referred to, including in Turkey, under the Greek name of Katakekaumene, which has the same meaning. Increasingly brought to the attention of a wider public in recent years as a natural curiosity, other recently coined terms to describe the area include "Cappadocia of the Aegean Region, Turkey" or even "Kuladocia". Panorama of Kula Yanıkyöre rock formations Kula Volcanic Geopark was accepted and certificated by UNESCO on 6 September 2013 at 37th UNESCO general conference in Naples. So that Kula Volcanic Geopark joined UNESCO Global Geopark Network.
In 1965, a fortunate meeting led to a definitive change in her career: Italian director Giorgio Strehler helped to develop her skills in staging and singing in Italian theatres (especially the Piccolo Teatro in Milan) and she began to perform a more committed repertoire, including songs of the Italian resistance movement, songs from Bertolt Brecht's pieces). In the following years she starred in Giorgio Strehler's production of Brecht's The Threepenny Opera which was performed in several cities of Western Europe. Milva's albums were certificated gold and platinum in West Germany. Milva in 1970 In 1968, Milva released her fifth studio album, Tango, an album that consisted of tango standards sung in Italian.
Transfer agents provide a variety of services to issuing companies, including: maintaining a registry of all shareholders, paying dividends and conducting proxy campaigns. Most investments in US equities, corporate bonds and municipal bonds are now held in book entry form, rather than certificates as was the case as recently as the early 1970s when Depository Trust & Clearing Corporation (DTCC) began operations. Thus with the general acceptance of stock immobilization at the central depository, most of the registry function has shifted to reconciling daily immobilized positions with DTCC's nominee firm, Cede & Co. For example, a company has issued 10 million shares. 100,000 shares have been issued in certificated form to a variety of investors.
Salinas City Elementary is an elementary school district located in Salinas, California. As of 2015, Salinas City Elementary had an enrollment of about 9,000 students, of which 80% were Hispanic or Latino. Salinas City Elementary has 13 campuses and employs ~800 classified and certificated employees, making the district one of the largest employers in Salinas, CA. Salinas City Elementary School District is one of 96 California school districts that has advanced to the federal Title I Program Improvement (PI) Year 3 status based upon failure to make Adequate Yearly Progress (AYP) for at least five years and is now subject to corrective action and targeted technical assistance as specified by the federal law.
Chief technology officer Carsten Sundin launched the VLJ project with CEO Michael Lemaire, aiming for higher speed and range than competitors. Sundin joined Lancair in 1993 after graduating and became engineering manager on the Lancair Legacy 2000. In 2003 he joined Epic Aircraft to become engineering manager on its new single turboprop and met the aerodynamicist of the Farnborough F1, Gordon Robinson. Farnborough Aircraft and Epic formed a joint venture to develop the smaller kit Epic LT along the FAR-23 certificated F1, sharing their wing, engine and tail, and Sundin Left Epic in 2005. The project was unveiled on 16 July 2008, touted as an owner- flown Very Light Personal Jet.
A central securities depository (CSD) is a specialist financial organization holding securities such as shares either in certificated or uncertificated (dematerialized) form so that ownership can be easily transferred through a book entry rather than the transfer of physical certificates. This allows brokers and financial companies to hold their securities at one location where they can be available for clearing and settlement. This is usually done electronically, making it much faster and easier than was traditionally the case where physical certificates had to be exchanged after a trade had been completed. In some cases these organizations also carry out centralized comparison, and transaction processing such as clearing and settlement of securities transfers, securities pledges, and securities freezes.
TWA Flight 800 wreckage, as reconstructed by the NTSB A little-known responsibility of the NTSB is that it serves as a court of appeals for airmen, aircraft mechanics, certificated aviation-related companies and mariners who have their licenses suspended or revoked by the FAA or the Coast Guard. The NTSB employs administrative law judges which initially hear all appeals, and the administrative law judge's ruling may be appealed to the five-member Board. The Board's determinations may be appealed to the federal court system by the losing party, whether it is the individual or company, on the one hand, or the FAA or the Coast Guard, on the other. However, from Ferguson v.
Fort Worth Airlines was founded by Thomas B. King, a former vice president of Braniff International. Fort Worth Airlines was the first federally certificated interstate carrier based at Meacham Field in more than 30 years. Local news reports remarked on the airline's strong ties to Braniff: two- thirds of the airline's executives came from Braniff, its office furniture was bought at Braniff's liquidation sale, and walls were decorated with original artwork by Alexander Calder, who had previously done design work for Braniff. The airline used turboprop-powered 56-seat NAMC YS-11 aircraft leased from Mid Pacific Air, claiming that larger jetliners could not support the frequency of flights that the carrier wanted to offer.
This article discusses the assessment of students instructed by their families through public examinations. Children who receive instruction in the family, must, each year, by the end of the second year of compulsory education, take an examination which will focus on matters of education for their age in public schools according to the following forms and programs that will be determined by ministerial orders made in the High Council. The Examination Board shall consist of: the primary inspector or his delegate, president; a cantonal delegate; a person holding a university degree or a certificate of competency; the judges will be selected by the school inspector. In examining the girls, the certificated person shall be a woman.
Edward Bunting, a member of the R&A; since 1991, was a marshal at three Open Championships in 1995, 2000 and 2005 and his father Gilbert Bunting was a referee at five Ryder Cups. Edward Bunting, who in 2014 was aged 78, during his amateur golfing career reached a handicap of 1. Bunting had the honour of scoring a "hole-in-one" on the Old Course at St Andrews which has been certificated by the Royal & Ancient Golf Club. This was his only hole-in-one throughout a long amateur golfing career, not as you might expect on a par 3 but on the 307-yard par 4 9th hole on the "Old Course".
The Tribunals, Courts and Enforcement Act 2007 significantly reformed the process for taking control of goods in order to recover debts owed as a result of court judgments. This process requires a person to be an "enforcement agent" in order to exercise the powers it provides. Under section 63 of the Act, a person is an enforcement agent if they hold a certificate issued by a court (a "certificated enforcement agent"). In addition, police constables, court officers, officers of Her Majesty's Revenue and Customs and people authorised to act on behalf of the Welsh Revenue Authority, and officers of government departments can act as enforcement agents without needing to hold a certificate.
The Embraer EMB-110P1 Bandeirante twin turboprop aircraft, registration PT-SEA and serial number 110352, was carrying twenty-eight people, though it was certificated for twenty-one. Shortly before the crash, the pilot reportedly attempted to turn back to Coari due to heavy rainfall, but then had to make an emergency landing in the Manacapuru River, a tributary of the Amazon located between Santo Antonio and Montecristo. Survivors said they saw one of the airplane's propellers stop rotating before the crash. The plane plunged into the river at a point about 500 meters from an abandoned runway, and 20 minutes away from its intended destination Manaus, and it submerged to a depth of about five to seven meters.
Star Alliance 747 of Thai Airways Three multinational worldwide airline alliances have grown and developed their own aircraft liveries and corporate identities which encompass and transcend major carriers, mainline carriers, legacy carriers, and flag airlines' individual airline identities along with any ties to regional, geopolitical, national boundaries, and government heritages. Oneworld, SkyTeam, and Star Alliance are the mutually agreed upon "airline alliance liveries" of large numbers of independent and separately owned airlines working together as one through a system of codeshare agreements, rather than the colors of any one certificated airline. Unlike the other airline alliance consortium members, Oneworld will retain the "jellytail" airline logo markings of their individual airline alliance partner members upon each member airline's vertical stabilizer.
Babilla was released four years after his last studio album, Desahogo, and three years after his last production (excluding greatest hits compilations), which was a live album titled El Encuentro. During the 2000s, Vico C was certificated twice by the Recording Industry Association of America (RIAA) for his albums En Honor A La Verdad and Desahogo, and won two Latin Grammy Awards for Best Urban Music Album for Vivo and also for En Honor A La Verdad. According to EMI Latin, Vico C sold 750,000 copies worldwide as of May 2004. As of his personal life, he adopted a 7-year-old girl named Joselyn on September 2006, being his fourth child with his wife Sonia Torres and fifth in total.
The short TBO and lack of certification for use in factory-built type certificated aircraft initially restricted its worldwide market potential. However, the engine received US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) certification in 1995, and by 1999, the TBO had increased to 1,200 hours; on 14 December 2009, the TBO was raised from 1,200 hours to 1,500 hours, or 1,500 hours to 2,000 hours, depending on serial number. In addition to the lower fuel consumption, the 912 is certified to run on automotive fuel (mogas), further reducing running costs, especially in areas where leaded avgas is not readily available. The 912 may be operated using leaded fuel, but this is not recommended as lead sludge tends to accumulate in the oil tank and reduction gearbox.
As a federally recognized naval militia, the SCNM must set membership requirements according to federal standards in order to be granted access to federal equipment. Under 10 U.S. Code § 7854, in order to be eligible to use vessels, material, armament, equipment, and other facilities available to the United States Navy Reserve and the United States Marine Corps Reserve, at least 95% of members of the naval militia must also be members of the United States Navy Reserve or the United States Marine Corps Reserve. South Carolina law also commissions a Merchant Marine division within the SCNM composed of Coast Guard-licensed or certificated merchant mariners who maintain active membership in the Volunteer Port Security Force as well as other licensed merchant mariners.
For the first half of 2018, while business jets deliveries were relatively flat, new turboprops were up 10%, pressurized ones were up 12%, and King Airs were up 30%. Charter membership Wheels Up, operated by Gama Aviation, saw its flight hours surge by % and expanded its fleet from 99 to 117 with most of the new aircraft being examples of the Beechcraft King Air 350i. From a fleet of 63 King Airs in 2017, Wheels Up is aiming for a fleet of 1,000 serving 75,000 members in North America and Europe by 2030. The first single-engine business turboprop was the , Socata TBM first delivered in August 1990, followed by the Pilatus PC-12 certificated in March 1994 with a larger cabin than a King Air 200.
Example of a BBFC certificate The Cinematograph Exhibitors Association sought to have the BBFC film certification recognised over local decision-making. The case of Mills v London City Council in 1925 (1 KB 213) established that a Council could make its licensing conditional on the exhibitor complying with the BBFC certification. Local Councils did continue to refuse showing of particular films which had been certificated by the BBFC: examples are the bans on The Devils and Life of Brian in Glasgow. Section 4 of the :Video Recordings Act 1984 required that videos for sale in the UK should be certified by an authority and the BBFC (by this time renamed as British Board of Film Classification) became that designated authority in 1985.

In the American Airlines Inc., 8k SEC filing dated November 29, 2007, "The planned divestiture would include both American Eagle Airlines, Inc., which feeds American Airlines hubs throughout North America, and its independently certificated regional carrier affiliate, Executive Airlines, Inc., which carries and d/b/a American Eagle in name throughout The Bahamas and the Caribbean from bases in Miami and San Juan, Puerto Rico." On July 8, 2008, American Eagle Inc, announced changes in leadership at its San Juan-based Executive Airlines operation in which Ed Criner, Executive's current president, returned to the U.S. mainland to oversee one of American Eagle's largest operations at Chicago O’Hare airport, and Pedro Fabregas, Vice President - Finance and Planning for Executive, became President - Executive Airlines.
216 By 1970, Caledonian was carrying the majority of the approximately 1.4 millionout of a total of eight million passengers flying as members of affinity groups across the Atlantic each year.Fly me, I'm Freddie!, p. 136 Caledonian sought to differentiate itself from the other UK independent airlines and US supplemental carriersholders of supplemental air carrier certificates authorised to operate non-scheduled passenger and cargo services to supplement the scheduled operations of certificated route air carriers; airlines holding supplemental air carrier certificates are also known as "nonskeds" in the US with which it competed in the transatlantic closed group charter market by providing a personalised, high quality full-scheduled- service style inflight service that exceeded most contemporary scheduled transatlantic operators' economy class service standards by a wide margin.
PPK became known internationally due to their single "ResuRection", which was available to download for free on mp3.com. A few million people downloaded it and such a wave of popularity brought to signing a contract with Paul Oakenfold's Perfecto label and was used to celebrate the New Year 2003 in Warsaw, Poland (seen on Sky News Active, 31 December 2002). This song was the first from a Russian act or USSR act to ever enter the UK Singles Chart. The song reached number 3 in the UK and Sergei Pimenov, Alexander Polyakov and band's manager Yury Marychev were awarded with Silver Disc award certificated by British Phonographic Industry (BPI) and indicated sales of over 200,000 copies in the UK alone.

All certificated pilots, with the exception of those with a sport or Recreational pilot certificateCode of Federal Regulations: Title 14: Aeronautics and Space PART 61—CERTIFICATION: PILOTS, FLIGHT INSTRUCTORS, AND GROUND INSTRUCTORS Subpart D § 61.96 Applicability and eligibility requirements: General.—Recreational Pilots (or when in command of balloons or gliders, including power assisted gliders), are required to maintain a medical certification commensurate with the privileges they intend to exercise as pilot-in-command of an aircraft. For sport pilot certificate applicants or holders, regulations state that a medical is required if the applicant/pilot does not hold a valid United States drivers license. To obtain a medical certification, pilots are required to undergo a medical examination from an Aviation Medical Examiner, or AME.
During the 1960s the legal profession (barristers, solicitors, and certificated notaries) came under fire for what was perceived to be poor performance, the high cost of conveyancing, and its failure to deal with the needs of all levels of society.White (1991) p.4 In response, the Labour government under Harold Wilson created a Royal Commission on Legal Services, known as the Benson Commission (after its chairman Sir Henry Benson), which was asked to "examine the structure, organisation, training and regulation of the legal profession and to recommend those changes that would be desirable to the interests of justice". The Commission frightened legal professionals, who believed that they were likely to face severe structural changes and lose their monopolies on probate and conveyancing work.
A High Court enforcement officer has similar functions to a County Court bailiff, in that they execute writs and warrants for unpaid court judgements, and evict people from land where possession has been granted. The majority of the work of High Court enforcement officers is carried out by certificated enforcement agents acting under the authority of a senior High Court enforcement officer, often a director of an enforcement firm for whom the enforcement agent works. Another officer of the High Court, the Tipstaff, is an employee of HM Courts and Tribunals Service, and is concerned with enforcing certain judgements of the High Court, typically involving the enforcement of court orders relating to the custody of children in family law cases.
Wheeler Flying Service was started by Warren Wheeler in 1969, who at the time was a Captain at Piedmont Airlines, flying Boeing 737-200 jetliners. Wheeler Flying Service provided flight training, charter services, aircraft maintenance and courier services for banks using Piper PA-28, PA-24 and PA-32, Beechcraft 18, Britten- Norman BN-2 Islander and Ted Smith Aerostar twin engine prop aircraft. Wheeler Flying Service was certificated by the FAA as an air carrier and a repair station. In August 1973, Wheeler Flying Service received a grant from the North Carolina Economic Authority to provide scheduled passenger air service from Raleigh/Durham, NC to Morehead City, NC and Elizabeth City, NC using Cessna 402 commuter twin prop aircraft.
Much like Southern Skyways or Direct Air, Branson AirExpress uses the air carrier services of DOT and FAA certificated airlines, but does not have any aircraft upon its own air carrier operating certificate. All 2012 service ended for the Autumn and winter and it did not resume in 2013. With the exit of Southwest Airlines from Branson, the concept was revived with a new name, Buzz Airways in 2014. In November 2014 service under the Branson Air Express name was revived and service transitioned to Elite Airways larger Bombardier CRJ-200 jet aircraft. Branson Air Express and Buzz Airways operated side-by- side during the summer of 2015, with CFM/Buzz Airways serving Chicago and Austin and Elite Airways operating Branson Air Express service to Denver and Houston.
By 1975, Ted had become a noted star in Sweden. He was prominently featured in teen magazines Starlet, Mitt Livs Novell and Poster, his love life was covered by the national newspapers, he had a fan club, and all of his albums were certificated gold and sold well in the rest of Scandinavia. Aside from Bjorn, Benny, Agnetha & Anni-Frid/ABBA and Anni-Frid Lyngstad he was Polar Music's best-selling artist. Stikkan had plans to launch him internationally and Ted recorded both Swedish and English versions of "Rockin' 'n' Reelin'" as well as an English version of an earlier hit, "Jag ska fånga en ängel" ("I'm Going to Catch An Angel"), with the title "Gonna Make You My Angel," the latter with lyrics by Gary Osborne; neither were a significant hit.
The Cirrus Design Corporation, doing business as Cirrus Aircraft (and previously branded as Cirrus Design), is an aircraft manufacturer that was founded in 1984 by Alan and Dale Klapmeier to produce the VK-30 kit aircraft. The company is owned by a subsidiary of the Chinese government-owned AVIC, and is headquartered in Duluth, Minnesota, United States, with additional operational locations in Grand Forks, North Dakota, Knoxville, Tennessee, and McKinney, Texas. Cirrus markets several versions of its three certificated single-engine light aircraft models: the SR20 (certified in 1998), SR22 (certified in 2000), and SR22T (certified in 2010). As of April 2018, the company had delivered over 7,000 SR-aircraft in nearly 19 years of production, and has been the world's largest producer of piston-powered aircraft since 2013.
The founder of the aviation program at UND, John D. Odegard, logged over 10,000 hours of flight time in his life and was licensed for commercial flight and instrument operations. He was type-rated in Cessna Citations, Learjet, and Beechjet, as well as being a certificated flight instructor (CFI) and certified examiner for commercial, instrument, tailwheel, multiengine, and Citation type-ratings. Having broken the sound barrier in the Concorde (as a passenger) and having flown as a crop- duster to help pay for college, Odegard was no stranger to the varied envelopes of flight. He was quite familiar with the many aspects of aviation and his vision for a well-rounded school which trains pilots in all aspects of flight helped the aviation program at UND become what it is today.
Moffat was an Army driver in the Auxiliary Territorial Service stationed in North Wales after the end of the Second World War when she met a climber who introduced her to climbing and a bohemian lifestyle. During the 1940s and 1950s she lived rough, climbing in Snowdonia, the Lakes, Scotland and the Alps, supporting herself among other jobs by working as a model for artists, in domestic service, forestry, farming and driving a travelling shop. In 1953 she became the first female British certificated mountain guide, and for ten years was closely associated with the RAF Mountain Rescue Service, making a living from climbing. Moffatt was known for often climbing barefoot claiming it was better because there was more contact with the rock and no constriction of the toes.
Onyebuchi Chukwu was first appointed Minister of Health of the Federal Republic of Nigeria by Goodluck Ebele Jonathan, President of the Federal Republic of Nigeria, in April 2010 and re-appointed in June 2011. As Minister of Health of Nigeria, he has championed the Transformation Agenda of the President in the health sector with considerable success. He ensured the approval of the National Strategic Health Development Plan (NSHDP) by the Federal Executive Council and the signing of the International Health Partnership (IHP+) compact securing partners’ commitment to the implementation of the plan. He later resigned in October 2014, to run as a candidate for the Governorship of Ebonyi state, Nigeria During his term, Guinea Worm Disease was eradicated in Nigeria for which the WHO in December 2013 certificated Nigeria as a Guinea Worm Free country.
In fact 14 persons at the official 140 lb weight per person was as much as the Ethan Allen could have been certificated to. According to the NTSB, the capsizing occurred due to a series of events. The total load of 47 was far in excess of the safe passenger weight under prevailing U.S. laws, the pilot made a hard turn to the right at speed, the seating arrangement put three people on the left versus two on the right (giving a permanent two-degree list to port), and the bench seats had no way of stopping involuntary sliding, so the centrifugal force of the hard turn caused involuntary movement of the passengers to the port. That movement increased the list to port and the increased list caused more sliding.
Joseph Mangan is an American aerospace engineer who, in 2004, was threatened with prison after telling European aviation authorities of his belief that the microprocessors controlling cabin pressurization valves in the new Airbus A380 might allow a sudden depressurization of the passenger cabin in flight--which, at normal cruising altitudes, could endanger the lives of people aboard the aircraft. A sudden loss of pressure at high altitudes can produce unconsciousness within seconds, followed eventually by death. According to the European Aeronautic Defence and Space Company, all parties have ensured through the most varied control channels that there is no safety deficit with regards to the scenario, as described by Mangan in the final certificated aircraft. All corresponding documents were reviewed and approved by European Aviation Safety Agency (EASA) and US Federal Aviation Administration (FAA).
Westinghouse took full control of the Sentinel programme after the failure of Airship Industries, and the first flight of the Sentinel 1000 took place under Westinghouse's management in 1991. The type certificates for the 500HL and 600 designs, which had initially passed to Slingsby, were acquired by Westinghouse in 1993. Aside from the Sentinel 1000's role as a demonstrator for the 5000, Westinghouse promoted the 1000 itself for roles such as demonstrating over-the-horizon targeting and acting as a sensor platform for drug interdiction. The UK's Ministry of Defence reportedly sent pilots to the US in early 1992 to evaluate the airship. In late 1993, the Sentinel 1000 became the first aircraft with fly-by-light controls to receive FAA certification and possibly the first such aircraft to be certificated anywhere.
In economics, a virtual airline is an airline that has outsourced as many possible operational and business functions as it can, but still maintains effective control of its core business. Such an airline focuses on operating a network of air services, and outsourcing non-core activities to other organizations. Contracting out services within the aviation industry has reportedly become so common that many carriers could be classed as having features of a virtual airline, although it is arguable whether any current carriers meet a strict definition of the term. The term is often used to describe travel companies and ticket agencies that market themselves as airlines, but do not possess an air operator's certificate and contract with one or more certificated operators to fly and maintain aircraft, often under an air charter arrangement.
A Designated Airworthiness Representative (DAR) is a private person designated by the United States Federal Aviation Administration to act on its behalf in the certification of type certificated and amateur-built aircraft for the issuance of airworthiness certificates, special flight permits, import aircraft, export certificates for products and articles, conformity inspections and field approvals for repair and alterations. Most DARs have limited and/or certain "functions" authorized by the FAA based on their experience and technical background. A DAR 14 CFR §183.33 may charge a fee for his or her services. There are two types of DARs,FAA Order 8100.8 DAR-T (FSDO) and DAR-F (MIDO.) A DAR-F primarily inspects/certifies new aircraft that have never been issued an airworthiness certificate (original certification.) A DAR-T inspects/re-certifies aircraft (recurrent certification.
Stamp duty remains in force for shares and securities that are held in certificated form which can only be transferred by using a physical stock transfer form, and runs in parallel to SDRT on agreements to transfer shares. Since 1986, both stamp duty and SDRT have been charged at a rate of 0.5% of the consideration for the transfer of shares (in the case of stamp duty, rounded up to the nearest £5). The same transaction may include an agreement to transfer shares which may trigger a liability to SDRT, and the agreement may later be completed by a transfer of the shares which is liable to stamp duty. Provided that the transfer is stamped within 6 years, the charge to SDRT is cancelled to avoid a double charge.

Certificated classroom teachers offer a full range of secular courses and advanced honors courses, including Mathematics, Biology, Physics, Chemistry, Social Studies, Language Arts, World Languages, Personal Finance, Fine Arts, Robotics, and Health and Physical Education. The school emphasizes the learning of Modern Hebrew, both as a means to understanding classic Jewish texts and in recognition of its importance to the Jewish people as the language of the modern State of Israel. The school also offers learning and discovery experiences through field trips and excursions. These have included community service at Project Backpack, the Jewish Food Pantry, the Wild Bird Sanctuary, and visits to the Thomas F. Eagleton United States Courthouse and to the Donald Danforth Plant Science Center, as well as to the Missouri History Museum and the Holocaust Museum in Creve Coeur.
At that time it was considered that the noise from a turbojet optimised for supersonic cruise could be reduced to an acceptable level using noise suppressors as used on subsonic jets. The powerplant configuration selected for Concorde, and its development to a certificated design, can be seen in light of the above symposium topics (which highlighted airfield noise, boundary layer management and interactions between adjacent engines) and the requirement that the powerplant, at Mach 2, tolerate combinations of pushovers, sideslips, pull-ups and throttle slamming without surging. Extensive development testing with design changes and changes to intake and engine control laws would address most of the issues except airfield noise and the interaction between adjacent powerplants at speeds above Mach 1.6 which meant Concorde "had to be certified aerodynamically as a twin-engined aircraft above Mach 1.6".
The type received its FAA type certification in April 1963. The UTX candidate, designated the T-39A, was identical in configuration to the NA-265, but when the contract was awarded and the T-39A entered production, it was powered by two Pratt & Whitney JT12A-8 turbojet engines. The civilian production version, or Series 40, was slightly refined over the prototype, with more speed and a roomier cabin. North American then stretched the design by and , providing greater cabin space, and marketed it as the Series 60, which was certificated in April 1967. The cabin was made taller for the Series 70 and General Electric CF700 turbofans were installed for the Series 75A (also branded as the Series 80)."Sabreliner Structural Repair Manual – All Models NA-265 Aircraft", Report No. NA-66-1032 Revision 10, March 16, 1990.
During their career, Rouge became one of Brazil's record-breaking acts, with more than 3 million albums sold, being the best-selling girl group in Brazil and Latin America. One of the group's albums also appears in the list of the best selling albums in the history of the Brazilian music industry – the debut album of the group, certificated double platinum. Described as the "Brazilian Spice Girls", some vehicles credited the group for being part of Brazilian pop; Some critics called them "laboratory rats" and "pop cinderellas." Eduardo Coelho of ‘’Fatos Desconhecidos’’ website revered the reality show Popstars for revealing the group, writing that "even with the pros and cons of the format, something that is undeniable with regards to reality shows on national soil is that they at least created, shaped and produced a true phenomenon called: Rouge, in the year 2002".
Gippsland Aeronautics was founded in 1977 by Peter Furlong as an aircraft maintenance and modification business operating out of Latrobe Regional Airport in Morwell, working for large organisations such as the National Safety Council of Australia and Esso Australia, as well as local commercial operators. In 1984 George Morgan joined Peter Furlong to form Gippsland Aeronautics Pty Ltd as an incorporated entity. Between 1985 and 1991 Gippsland Aeronautics developed the GA200 agricultural aircraft, following approaches by local aircraft operators to design an agricultural aircraft with better lifting and handling capabilities than other available aircraft. The GA200C Fatman was Type Certificated by the Australian Civil Aviation Authority in 1991. In 1993 the company commenced design work on a new aircraft designated the GA8, to fill a market niche between the six-seater Cessna 206 and the ten-seater Cessna Caravan.
Configuration before December 2017 with engines over the wing trailing edge In December 2017, Aerion and Lockheed Martin announced they would explore its joint development without Airbus, aiming to fly in 2023 and to be certificated in 2025. On December 15, after discussions with Lockheed's Skunk Works, they announced a MoU to explore over a year the joint development of the supersonic business jet: engineering, certification and production. Lockheed developed supersonic aircraft like the F-16, the F-35, F-22 and the Mach 3+ SR-71, and concluded the AS2 concept warrants time and resources investment after reviewing Aerion's aerodynamic technology. Through a previous two-and-a-half-year engineering collaboration with Airbus, Aerion advanced the AS2 aerodynamics and designed a preliminary wing and airframe structures, systems layout and fly-by-wire control system concept.
The aircraft was originally designed as the Mitsubishi MU-300 Diamond, an all-new, all-jet development to complement and slot above the Mitsubishi MU-2 and provide Mitsubishi Heavy Industries with their top-of-the-line corporate aircraft model (hence the name "Diamond"). It first flew on August 29, 1978. Mitsubishi went on to produce 97 MU-300s, all of which were assembled by the company's United States subsidiary.Aviastar: Mitsubishi MU-300 / Diamond In 1985, Mitsubishi sold the rights and a number of unfinished airframes to Beechcraft, who began manufacturing it as their own model, initially re-designated as the Beechjet 400, certificated by the Federal Aviation Administration in May 1986. Raytheon/Beechcraft developed improvements for the 1990 400A for longer range, higher take-off weights, luxury appointments and offering an all-glass flight deck.
The award of a five-year licence by the CAB in October 1966 to engage in cargo and passenger charter operations including all-expense tour charters between the US and points in Canada and Mexico enhanced Modern Air's new status as a permanently certificated US supplemental carrier.Modern Air was one of 10 US "non-skeds" attaining permanent supplemental carrier status at the time Following the award of these new foreign charter rights, the airline concluded a US$17.5 million purchase agreement with American Airlines to acquire five of the latter's Convair CV-990A jetliners between January 1967 and February/March 1968, in anticipation of major growth for low-cost overseas travel by US tour groups.Aeroplane - Commercial: ITs for Supplementals, Vol. 112, No. 2869, p. 11, Temple Press, London, 13 October 1966Aeroplane - Order Book: Modern's Coronado purchase, Vol.

The best-known course, with the largest proportion nationwide of successful students, was the old-style English Bar Examination (also known as Bar Finals) for British Commonwealth and US exemptions-seeking Bar students (approx. 70% of the intake) as well as for UK Intending Non-Practitioners (approx.
After what it said was seven years of investigation, the FAA proposed a rule in November 2005, in response to an NTSB recommendation, which would require airlines to "reduce the flammability levels of fuel tank vapors on the ground and in the air". This was a shift from the previous 40 years of policy in which the FAA focused only on reducing possible sources of ignition of fuel tank vapors. The FAA issued the final rule on 21 July 2008. The rule amends regulations applicable to the design of new airplanes (14CFR§25.981), and introduces new regulations for continued safety (14CFR§26.31–39), Operating Requirements for Domestic Operations (14CFR§121.1117) and Operating Requirements for Foreign Air Carriers (14CFR§129.117). The regulations apply to airplanes certificated after 1 January 1958 of passenger capacity of 30 or more or payload capacity of greater than 7500 pounds.
Teachers, (who were unpaid volunteer professionals in their field,) and students were both considered as, and called, Members of College as a mark of equality and respect. This educational and management tradition, seen as being in the spirit of a liberal education that promotes values and responsible civic behaviour, and being a direct link to the founders' concern over the failure of Associationism, lasted until the mid-1990s. Sir Wilfred Griffin Eady, principal of the College from 1949 to 1955, defined Liberal Education, the raison d'etre of the College, as "something you can enjoy for its own sake, something which is a personal possession and an inward enrichment, and something which teaches a sense of values". During the 1970s the College introduced and increased a number of certificated courses, and by the beginning of the 1980s there were successful moves to change the voluntary tradition by remunerating teachers.
As the Australian Government had rejected Victa's appeals for tariff protection assistance, or for direct subsidies to keep the production lines open, the company chose to suspend production of the Airtourer in February 1966, by which time it had built 172 Airtourers. While the Aviation division initially remained open to spares support for existing aircraft and to continue development of the four-seat Aircruiser, the division was completely shut down on 20 January 1967.Taylor 1966, p. 9.Taylor 1967, p. 8. The manufacturing rights to the Airtourer were purchased the following year by the maintenance firm Aero Engine Services Ltd (AESL) in New Zealand where further production of 115 hp and 150 hp models took place until 1973. Henry Millicer had designed the Victa Aircruiser, a four-seater derivative design, powered by a 210 hp Continental O-360 engine, which was certificated in 1967.
MDT, the crew mistakenly landed the aircraft at Buffalo, Wyoming, thinking it was their destination airport of Sheridan. While there was no emergency and no one suffered injuries, the airport tarmac sustained damage as it was not constructed to hold the weight of a commercial airliner. On November 28, 1979 the Federal Aviation Administration (FAA) suspended Ferguson's Airline Transport Pilot certificate for 60 days, and charged Ferguson with violation of four sections of the Federal Aviation Regulations: (1) § 91.75(a) (14 C.F.R. § 91.75, deviating from an air traffic control clearance; (2) § 121.590(a) (14 C.F.R. § 121.590), landing at an airport not certificated under part 139 of the Federal Aviation Regulations; (3) § 121.555(b) (14 C.F.R. § 121.555), landing at an airport not listed in the Western Airlines Operations Specifications; and (4) § 91.9 (14 C.F.R. § 91.9), operating an aircraft in a careless or reckless manner so as to endanger the life or property of another.

St Ethelburga's Centre for Reconciliation and Peace is a non-profit charity which aims to build relationships across divisions of conflict, culture and religion. Its work includes: a multi-faith conflict resilience programme (faith leaders working together to become more intelligent in their responses to conflict); community reconciliation (building a coalition for peace within with the North and South Sudanese diaspora in London); the Narrative Practitioners Forum (promoting the use of narrative and personal story for building empathy between people with different backgrounds); Re-awakening the Sacred (a secular and spiritual multi-disciplinary enquiry into bringing a deeper sense of meaning into the earth, environment, leadership, economics and business etc.); an MA in reconciliation at Winchester University; and several strands of cultural exchange work mentoring young adults into social action leadership roles. It also runs a certificated three-day course in conflict coaching aimed at anyone dealing with workplace or personal conflict. The Centre also works with a social enterprise, Seasoned Events, for building/venue hire purposes.
In the Coal Mines Act 1872 we see the first important effort to provide a complete code of regulation for the special dangers to health, life and limb in coal mines apart from other mines; it applied to > "mines of coal, mines of stratified ironstone, mines of shale and mines of > fire-clay." Unlike the companion act—applying to all other mines—it maintained the age limit of entering underground employment for boys at ten years, but for those between ten and twelve it provided for a system of working analogous to the half-time system in factories, including compulsory school attendance. The limits of employment for boys from twelve to sixteen were io hours in any one day and 54 in any one week. The chief characteristics of the act lay in extension of [the " general " safety rules, improvement of the method of formulating "special" safety rules, provision for certificated and competent management, and increased inspection.
A pre-certification video is any videotape (or laserdisc) issued in the UK before the introduction of the 1984 Video Recordings Act. Pre-certification videos were not required by law to be submitted to the BBFC so the era was unregulated, leading to many uncut releases of videos which would have fallen foul of the BBFC's strict guidelines, and would therefore have been censored if submission to the board was a legal requirement. However, whilst many of the larger respectable companies simply issued their previously BBFC certificated cinema releases onto video to play safe as they feared there was bound to be a clampdown at some stage, some of the smaller independent companies decided to take advantage of the unregulated video rentals market by issuing "strong uncut" versions depicting graphic violence and gore. A whole barrage of titles previously banned by the BBFC from getting a cinema release suddenly ended up uncensored on home video.
The TAWS improves on existing GPWS systems by providing the flight crew much earlier aural and visual warning of impending terrain, forward looking capability, and continued operation in the landing configuration. These improvements provide more time for the flight crew to make smoother and gradual corrective action. United Airlines was an early adopter of the EGPWS technology. The CFIT of American Airlines Flight 965 in 1995 convinced that carrier to add EGPWS to all its aircraft; although the Boeing 757 was equipped with the earlier GPWS, the terrain warning was issued only 13 seconds before the crash. In 1998, the FAA issued Notice No. 98-11, Terrain Awareness and Warning System,, August 26, 1998 proposing that all turbine-powered U.S.-registered airplanes type certificated to have six or more passenger seats (exclusive of pilot and copilot seating), be equipped with an FAA-approved terrain awareness and warning system. On March 23, 2000, the FAA issued Amendments 91–263, 121–273, and 135-75 (Correction 135.154).
A temporary certificate should be available after the form has been approved which takes approximately two weeks. This temporary paper can be used during the actual solo flight until the physical card arrives in the mail. Although this student pilot certificate doesn't always come right before a solo flight, it is required, and thus earning a student pilot certificate is a sign that a solo flight may be near. Obtaining a student pilot certificate authorizing solo flight requires 4 steps: # be 16 years of age or older (14 years for gliders and balloons) # pass a flight physical administered by an aviation medical examiner (for powered aircraft only, excluding gliders and balloons) (1st, 2nd, or 3rd class is okay) # receive ground and flight instruction (This is often around 20–25 hours of actual flight instruction before a solo and thus the cost can be expensive) # earn an endorsement from a certificated flight instructor # Some flight schools require students to have personal insurance before they use the privileges of their student license, and fly their first solo.

His plane was a Cessna Model AW with a Warner-Scarab engine, one of only 48 built, that he called "The Kangaroo". He set the east- to-west, then the west-to-east, and the combined round trip record. He was the youngest certificated pilot in the United States, and the youngest certified airplane mechanic.
The "proof of concept" GA8 Airvan made its first flight in March 1995 and appeared at the Australian International Airshow in Avalon. The prototype GA8 Airvan made its first flight in August 1996. The Airvan then underwent a major flight testing and development program. In 2000 the Australian Civil Aviation Safety Authority certificated the GA8 Airvan to FAR 23 Amendment 48, and the vehicle began to be exported from December of the following year, with a delivery to Maya Island Air in Belize, Central America. In 2002 the US Civil Air Patrol appointed Gippsland Aeronautics to supply Airvans, making the CAP the first American organisation to own and fly the Airvan, and the largest fleet owner of the Australian GA8 worldwide. In 2003 the Airvan gained Type Certification in Canada with Avalon Aircraft Corporation of Richmond, British Columbia appointed as the Canadian representative. This was followed by type certification by the US FAA. In 2004 the first Airvan was delivered to a Canadian operator, Wings Over Wilderness, and a Cargo Pod for Airvan was certified by the Australian Civil Aviation Authority.
The Rosen's land purchase in November 1957 was followed by the start of construction in January 1958 and the first completed units being occupied by residents soon after. The same year, the Rosen's also founded Gulf American Land Corporation (GALC). GALC organised day trips for prospective customers by using their own airline, Gulf American Airlines, which operated a shuttle service linking Miami to Fort Myers Page Field using a fleet of five Douglas DC-3s. Page Field was the closest airport to GALC's Cape Coral residential development (which prospective customers accessed by complimentary bus transfers from the airport). From 1958, GALC also began contracting US supplemental carrierholder of supplemental air carrier certificate authorised to operate non-scheduled passenger and cargo services to supplement the scheduled operations of certificated route air carriers; an airline holding a supplemental air carrier certificate was also known as a "nonsked" in the US Modern Air to fly prospective customers from the Northeast and Midwest into Miami, where they transferred between Modern Air's Curtiss C-46s and Gulf American Airlines' DC-3s en route to and from Fort Myers.
This milestone also made Aeroflot the first Russian customer for Airbus. The first example of the Ilyushin Il-96, which was also the first Soviet fly-by-wire aircraft, had its maiden flight in 1988, and was certificated in ; the first Aeroflot Il-96-300 entered the fleet in 1993, and was initially deployed on the Moscow–New York City route in that year. Pending approval for an Ex-Im Bank financing package, a contract worth billion for the acquisition of twenty Il-96s, including ten Il-96T cargo aircraft and ten Il-96Ms that were initially slated for delivery between 1996 and 1999, was signed in . The Ex-Im Bank approved the loan in early 1996. Boeing objected to the deal, but the dispute was later settled following an Aeroflot order for ten Boeing 737-400s —placed in in a deal worth million— that were granted a tax exemption by the Russian government; nevertheless, the financing was blocked again when four Boeing 767-300ERs also ordered by Aeroflot were not included in the accorded exemption.
Harold Wilson, whose Labour government created the Royal Commission on Legal Services During the 1960s the legal profession (barristers, solicitors, and certificated notaries) came under fire for what was perceived to be poor performance, the high cost of conveyancing, and its failure to deal with the needs of all levels of society.White (1991) p.4 In response, the Labour government under Harold Wilson created a Royal Commission on Legal Services, known as the Benson Commission (after its chairman Sir Henry Benson), which was asked to "examine the structure, organisation, training and regulation of the legal profession and to recommend those changes that would be desirable to the interests of justice". The Commission frightened the legal profession, which believed that they were likely to face severe structural changes and lose their monopolies on probate work and conveyancing work. Their fears were unfounded, however—when the report was published in 1979 it did not propose any radical changes, with one editorial describing it as "characterised by an over-anxiety not to offend the professional establishment".
Data from Junkers Aircraft & Engines 1913–1945. ;Mo3:A research diesel engine for test bed use only, the Mo3 was a four-cylinder, (eight piston), opposed-piston engine designed to run horizontally. Tested from 1913, the problems found in testing the Mo3 were progressively solved after World War I with the Fo3 and later opposed piston diesels. ;Fo3:From 1924, Junkers experimented with the Fo3, A vertical 5-cyl. opposed-piston diesel, which ran on a test bed in the summer of 1926, developing at 1,200 rpm. Mostly successful, the Fo3 did highlight the need for accurate dynamic balancing of the rotating components. ;Fo4: (a.k.a. SL1) The Fo4, benefiting from the experience gained with the Fo3, was a six-cylinder opposed-piston diesel engine, tested from 1928 and flown in the nose of a Junkers G.24 from 30 August 1929. ;Jumo 4: After the successful bench runs and flight tests, the Fo4 was refined into the certificated Jumo 4, enjoying limited success powering re-engined Junkers F24kay airliners of Deutsche Luft Hansa, remaining in service until 1939.
Under the 1938 legislation of the Civil Aviation Authority, the federal agency responsible for regulating civil aviation until 1940, all air carriers providing scheduled air service across states required an official certificate to operate, the Certificate of Public Convenience and Necessity. The certificate demanded compliance with economic as well as safety standards, which meant all certificated companies were subject to the CAA's stringent control over fares, routes, and business practices. Nonscheduled air service, which then referred to light aircraft individually chartered to transport cargo, was exempt.Davies and Quastler 1995 p. 23. Snapping up $25,000 Douglas DC-3s, the legendary utility plane which operated in numbers exceeding 10,000 during the war, enterprising pilots established their own freight carriers with ease under the 1938 exemption.Solberg 1979 p. 328. A glut of such companies appeared—2,730 in 1946 alone according to the Civil Aeronautics Board (CAB), which replaced the CAA in 1940. They had such names as Fireball Air Express or Viking Air Lines, and commonly were operated by a lone individual with some money given by fellow GIs, or in rare cases a bank loan.
Aircraft Investor Resources (AIR) had appointed Georgian manufacturer Tbilaviamsheni (TAM) to manufacture the fuselage, wings and stabilizer for its Epic LT single-engined turboprop kitplane, for which it had 25 orders. Rick Schrameck, AIR owner and chief executive, stated Tbilisi-based TAM will build the same parts for the certificated version of the LT. Las Vegas-based AIR was gearing up for first delivery of the Epic kit by year end. TAM, which was a joint stock company, was in the process of restructuring its complete organisation consisting primarily of its aircraft manufacturing/maintenance concern and its small regional airline with the objective of acquiring a larger share of the civil aviation market, in Georgia and Euro-Asia. It was also looking into expanding into a multimodal logistics centre as the main merchandise railway line, serving the Black Sea ports of Poti and Batumi, run right on the location of its airfield making it very convenient for rail, road and air freight to converge both to and from Central Europe, northern Africa and Asia.
On April 7, 2011, a judge approved sale of Emivest assets to MT LLC of Utah, an ownership group affiliated with Metalcraft Technologies, Inc. of Cedar City, Utah, a parts supplier for the SJ30. According to a news article, Emivest vice president Mark Fairchild stated that according to his understanding, MT planned to maintain Emivest as a jet manufacturer, though he didn't know any details. As of June 15, 2011, Metalcraft Technologies, the Cedar City, Utah-based company that purchased Emivest out of bankruptcy, MT LC, announced that the new company name would be SyberJet Aircraft. Metalcraft also owns the SJ30 type certificate. Metalcraft-owned SyberJet plans to restart production in 2019. Metalcraft Technologies was the aft fuselage supplier for the aircraft and its parent MTI made the acquisition in 2011. The five incomplete jets acquired from Emivest will be offered as SJ30is, an upgraded SJ30-2 certificated in 2005 with four in service. SJ30i is FJ44-3AP-2A-powered, has new avionics based on Honeywell’s Primus Epic 2.0, and redesigned interior.
In this appeal, the main question was how New York's personal jurisdiction statute, N.Y. C.P.L.R.§ 302, applied. More specifically, only the third requirement of § 302(a)(3)(ii) was in dispute: "whether American Buddha's allegedly copyright-infringing conduct in Oregon or Arizona cause the requisite injury in New York." Thus, in deciding whether a New York court had jurisdiction to hear this case, given that there was no binding case law as to "what the situs of injury is in an intellectual property case," the Second Circuit certificated a question to the New York Court of Appeals: "In copyright infringement cases, is the situs of injury for the purposes of determining long-arm jurisdiction ... the location of the infringing action or the residence or location of the principal place of business of the copyright holder?" The Second Circuit also pointed out that the fact that infringement in this case occurred through the media of the Internet and an online library, is a relevant factor that should be taken into consideration, due to the speed and ease with which the Internet may allow out of state actions to cause injury to copyright holders resident in New York.
Although 'registration' was not available for women to act as midwives or monthly nurses a system of 'certification' was in being in the late 19th century and continued into the early 20th century. To qualify, a candidate monthly nurse would attend a course in a lying-in hospital for four or five weeks and a midwife for up to three months. The prospective midwives and monthly nurses, as a rule, paid their own charges in respect of hospital expenses and then entered practice on their own responsibility. In 1893, a Miss Gosling reported that "although the certificated monthly nurse could be relied upon as being trustworthy and efficient, there were a number of women who attend lectures for a short time and through one cause or another fail to pass their examination and obtain a certificate nevertheless enter a 'Nurses Home' or open one for themselves". As might be expected rogue institutions issued certificates and diplomas “for a price”. Another that reporting on a lying in hospital and signed herself a ‘victim of the system’ said that she “witnessed the first phase of the system which turns out yearly hundreds of midwives and monthly nurses on an unsuspecting public.
Upon touchdown, the flaps immediately return to the 25° position, which decreases the lift created by the wing and thereby increasing braking effectiveness. The aircraft also employs two ground spoilers and two roll spoilers per wing. The roll spoilers' primary job is to augment the ailerons, but upon touchdown, all four roll spoilers activate along with all four ground spoilers to spoil much of the lift generated by the wing. Financial backing from the Canadian government allowed the launch of the DHC7 program in the early 1970s, resulting in the maiden flight of the first of two development aircraft on 27 March 1975. The first production Dash 7 flew on 3 March 1977, the type was certificated on 2 May 1977, and it entered service with Rocky Mountain Airways on 3 February 1978. The type made the first landing at London Docklands Heron's Quay in 1983, paving the way for London City Airport. In 1987 the Dash 7 inaugurated flight service at LCY, with Brymon Airways. The market for the city-to-city aircraft never fully materialized, but London City Airport had Brymon Airways providing Dash 7 service from 1987, exploiting its excellent STOL capabilities The standard passenger-carrying Dash 7 is the Series 100, while the type was also offered in pure freighter form as the Series 101.
