She talked to us about their experiences opening Yardbird six years ago, and how the Hong Kong restaurant scene has changed since then.

At one of 50 Eggs' busiest restaurants in Miami, Yardbird Southern Table and Bar, roughly 80 percent of the staff members were born abroad.

As an eco-friendly company, Yardbird also partners with Carbon Fund to offset 100% of its carbon footprint, and its packaging contains 50% recycled materials.

Chefs from all over consider Yardbird their clubhouse when they visit the city: It's a place they often say they wish they had opened themselves.

But "Charlie Parker's Yardbird," given its New York premiere on Friday at the Apollo Theater, evoked none of that masterly saxophonist and composer's wild beauty and mesmerizing focus.

Obviously, we don't believe that that's true, and we approached the service at Yardbird from a very Western perspective, where your waiter is just as human as you are.

However, YTV felt that they wanted to stick with the Beiderbecke "brand" and so the first sequel was renamed The Beiderbecke Tapes. St. George Records is an American blues and rockabilly independent record label, set up in 1983 by George Paulus. The label first started reissuing early post-war blues recordings by artists such as Little Walter, Jimmy Rogers, Johnny Young, Sleepy John Estes. Since the 1990s they specialise in recording contemporary blues and rockabilly musicians as diverse as the Pretty Things-Yardbird Blues Band, The El Dorados, Robert "Big Mojo" Elem, Little Mack Simmons, Tail Dragger Jones, Rev. In May 2017, Chef Lorena paired with John Kunkel of 50 Eggs (Yardbird, Swine, etc.) to open an upscale Latin American restaurant named CHICA inside the luxurious Venetian on the Las Vegas Strip.

The owners also own the catering and takeaway company Slows to Go. The premises were expanded during January 2013 into the next door property which formerly housed a real estate business. The premises had previously been used by Slows for private events, and the expansion allowed an additional bar and kitchen space to be added to the restaurant. The Yardbirds Story, originally released as Train Kept A-Rollin' – The Complete Giorgio Gomelsky Productions, is a 90-track CD box set compilation of all of the known Yardbirds recordings from 1963 to 1966 (before "Yardbirds" "Roger the Engineer"/Over Under Sideways Down), including all of the band's singles and flip-sides, previously unreleased 1963–64 demos, live recordings, and alternate takes. The music is assembled Bear Family Records-style, in chronological recording date order. It contains all of the Eric Clapton Yardbird tracks and everything Jeff Beck contributed to up until Roger the Engineer. It's also augmented by a pair of 1967 live tracks with Jimmy Page in the lineup.

After a European tour in the summer of 1971, White left the band, and the remaining trio of Pugh, Bradley and Cennamo began recording a new album. McCarty claims that Relf was the first to use the name, who may have gotten it from Jack Kerouac's novel On the Road, where it referred to rail yard hobos. He adds that Topham identified it as a nickname for jazz saxophonist Charlie "Yardbird" Parker. The quintet achieved notice on the burgeoning British rhythm and blues scene when they took over as the house band at the Crawdaddy Club in Richmond, succeeding the Rolling Stones. Their repertoire drew from the Chicago blues of Howlin' Wolf, Muddy Waters, Bo Diddley, Sonny Boy Williamson II and Elmore James, including "Smokestack Lightning", "Good Morning Little School Girl", "Boom Boom", "I Wish You Would", "Rollin' and Tumblin'", "Got Love if You Want It" and "I'm a Man".

After completing the training, he became interested in commercial art, and moved to the USA to study commercial art, while beginning his career as a professional artist for the publishers and entertainment industry. The show initially broadcast Saturday afternoons during the third hour of Definitely Not the Opera starting in 2003. Early in 2004 it was given a slot of its own late Saturday mornings for a short series of nine shows, and in 2005 returned as a recurring comedy show broadcast as part of DNTO. The Studio Theatre became an important venue for the production of Wilfred Watson's plays, beginning with Cockcrow and the Gulls (which he'd written in the mid-1950s) in March 1962. In the early 1960s Watson co-founded a jazz club, "Yardbird Suite" in Edmonton. During the same period he became acquainted with Marshall McLuhan and increasingly interested in McLuhan's theories, which resulted in the two men authoring a study, From Cliche to Archetype. She has performed at jazz festivals and events across the U.S., including Jazz at Lincoln Center, Detroit Jazz Festival, Litchfield Jazz Festival, Rochester International Jazz Festival, Lincoln Center for the Performing Arts, and the Chicago Humanities Festival. Internationally, she has performed at jazz clubs, jazz festivals, and other venues, including Ascona Jazz Festival (Switzerland), Edinburgh Jazz and Blues Festival (Scotland), Sunset-Sunside Jazz Club (France), Bansko International Jazz Festival (Bulgaria), Gouvy Jazz & Blues Festival (Belgium), Jamboree Jazz (Spain), Tanjazz (Morocco), Hot Jazz (Israel), Cellar Jazz (Vancouver, Canada), Yardbird Suite (Edmonton, Canada), JazzTone (Germany), and the Ystad Jazz Festival (Sweden).

In January 1969, Relf and McCarty organized a new group devoted to experimentation with rock, folk, and classical forms. In his book Mountains Come Out of the Sky: An Illustrated History of Prog Rock, Will Romano quoted McCarty: This quintet — Relf on guitar and vocals, McCarty on drums and vocals, plus bassist Louis Cennamo, pianist John Hawken, and Relf's sister Jane as an additional vocalist — released a pair of albums on Elektra (US) and Island (UK-ILPS 9114), the first one, titled simply Renaissance (1969), being produced by fellow ex-Yardbird Paul Samwell-Smith. The band had begun performing in May 1969, before recording had commenced for the debut LP, mostly in the UK, but with occasional forays abroad, including festivals in Belgium (Amougies, October 1969) and France (Operation 666 at the Olympia in January 1970, and Le Bourget in March 1970, both in Paris). In February 1970, they embarked on a North American tour, but that month-long trek proved only marginally successful.

The group’s touring schedule has also taken them to many of the UK’s finest funk venues including the 100 Club, The Yardbird in Birmingham, Band on The Wall in Manchester, Hi-Fi Club in Leeds, the Jazzbar in Edinburgh, as well as festivals such as The Mostly Jazz Festival, The North East Funk and Soul Revue and The Sage Gateshead International Jazz Festival. Internationally they have played at the Imagina Funk Festival (2015), Novara Jazz Festival (2012) and Swingin' Groningen (2012) along with various gigs in Italy and Spain. In 2011, The Pimptones remix of The Breakbeat Junkie track "Rock The Funky Beat" become a firm favourite of the BBC6 Music Funk and Soul Show, and was one of the most requested songs on RAI Radio 2’s Pop Corner (Italy). Nick Pride also produces the Pimptones podcast designed to highlight up and coming music from the band and from other artists in the North East.

Leftfoot is a soul jazz and funk night that has featured on BBC Radio 1. Party in the Park was Birmingham's largest annual music festival, at Cannon Hill Park, where up to 30,000 revellers of all ages listen to popular chart music. Now it has become a day for the unsigned of all genres and was brought back to life in 2013 as unsigned acts decided it was time for them to do a day of their own.
