Ernest Widdle is a character in the Lobo comics and the younger brother of Bludhound. Goldstar thought that Lobo murdered his brother after witnessing Bludhound's death on the planet Harmony (although Bludhound actually dies of an incurable disease). Goldstar was generally depicted as an antithesis to Lobo - kind, decent, clean-cut and generally a stick in the mud (as far as Lobo was concerned). All that Goldstar wished to do was encourage niceness, decency and heroism in the universe.

Yankee Dood It is a 1956 Warner Brothers Merrie Melodies theatrical cartoon short directed by Friz Freleng and written by Warren Foster. The short was released on October 13, 1956 and features Elmer Fudd. The title is a pun on Red Skelton's famous "I Dood It" line from the Mean Widdle Kid routine. Yankee Dood It was the last of three cartoons to be underwritten by the Alfred P. Sloan Foundation, which also underwrote By Word of Mouse and Heir-Conditioned.

Luther Blount was born on September 5, 1916, in Warren, Rhode Island, to Willis Eugene Blount and Ruth Gibbs Blount. Luther had one brother F. Nelson Blount, the industrialist and steam locomotive collector. After graduating from Barrington High School, Blount attended Wentworth Institute of Technology, where he obtained an associate degree (at the time, the highest degree offered at Wentworth) in 1937. He got his entrepreneurial start by carving duck jewelry pins that he sold out of his "Dippy Duck Widdle Shop".

Wicket was featured in the 1984 TV film The Ewok Adventure (set before Return of the Jedi), theatrically released as Caravan of Courage: An Ewok Adventure. In the film, he accompanies stranded brother and sister Mace and Cindel Towani as he and the Ewoks help find and rescue the children's missing parents from the giant Gorax. Wicket is revealed to be the son of Deej and Shodu, and has two older brothers, Weechee and Widdle. Wicket would return the following year in a sequel, Ewoks: The Battle for Endor.

If Sera remains with the Inquisition and is not in a romantic relationship with the Inquisitor, the epilogue for the Trespasser DLC will reveal that she is dating Dagna, whom she affectionately nicknames "Widdle".

The character of Clem Kadiddlehopper was based on a Vincennes neighbor named Carl Hopper, who was hard of hearing. Skelton's voice pattern for Clem was similar to the later cartoon character, Bullwinkle; there was enough similarity to cause Skelton to contemplate filing a lawsuit against Bill Scott, who voiced the cartoon moose. The second character, The Mean Widdle Kid, or "Junior", was a young boy full of mischief, who typically did things he was told not to do.

Sir Sidney Ruff-Diamond (Sid James) is Queen Victoria's Governor in the Indian province of Kalabar near the Khyber Pass. The province is defended by the feared 3rd Foot and Mouth Regiment, who are said to not wear anything under their kilts. When a soldier, the inept Private Widdle (Charles Hawtrey) is found wearing underpants after an encounter with the warlord Bungdit Din (Bernard Bresslaw), chief of the warlike Burpa tribe, the Khasi of Kalabar (Kenneth Williams) plans to use this information to incite a rebellion in Kalabar. He aims to dispel the "tough" image of the Devils in Skirts by revealing that contrary to popular belief, they actually wear underpants underneath their kilts.

At the climax, Tweety has managed to trap Sylvester inside the birdcage, and has introduced a "wittle puddy dog" (rhymes with "puppy dog"; a not-so-little "pug dog", an angry bulldog - in his first appearance). Their deadly battle occurs under the wrap the bird has thrown over the cage. The film ends with the lady of the house calling the pet shop again, this time ordering a new cat, while Tweety lounges in Sylvester's old bed. Overhearing the woman telling the pet shop that the cat will have a nice home here, Tweety reveals the silhouette of a cat now stencilled on the wall, and closes the cartoon with a comment to the camera, "Her don't know me very well, do her?" a variant on one of Red Skelton's catchphrases by his "Mean Widdle Kid" character from radio.

The sketches were usually built around one of Red's many characters, including "Deadeye", an incredibly inept sheriff in the Old West; "San Fernando Red", a shady real estate agent (named for the San Fernando Valley, which was still a largely rural area when the show began); "Cauliflower McPugg", a punchdrunk boxer, "George Appleby", a hen-pecked husband, "Junior, the Mean Widdle Kid" (whose trademark line was, " If l dood it, l get a whippin'.........l DOOD IT!"), "Clem Kadiddlehopper", a hick who was identified in at least one sketch as being from Cornpone County, Tennessee, and "Freddie the Freeloader". Freddie was a bum with a heart of gold, who was played by Skelton (and in one episode in 1961, by Ed Sullivan) in clown makeup reminiscent of Emmett Kelly but somehow not as sad.
