Daniël Teunis van der Stoep (born 12 September 1980, Delft) is a Dutch politician who was a Member of the European Parliament (MEP) during two periods from July 2009 to August 2011 and from December 2011 to July 2014.

On November 11, 2015, the Public Prosecutor's Office confirmed that Van der Stoep was suspected of at least three attempts at fornication with underage girls in the period from 2012 to early 2014. He allegedly offered money, cocaine, cigarettes, drinks, hotel stays and holidays, among other things, abusing his status as a Member of the European Parliament. On 24 November 2015, the Public Prosecution Service demanded five months' imprisonment (three of which was conditional) and a 240-hour community sentence before the court in The Hague. On December 8, Van der Stoep was sentenced in accordance with the requirement.

The return of Van der Stoep to Parliament had been unexpected and Van der Kammen had already been announced as member on the Parliament website. However, Van der Kammen succeeded Barry Madlener in the European Parliament in September 2012 while remaining a member of the States- Provincial of North Brabant. Madlener, who was number eight on the candidate list of the Party for Freedom for the 2012 Dutch general election, was chosen to the House of Representatives.

He was returned to the European Parliament on 14 December 2011, after the Treaty of Lisbon expanded the Parliament by eighteen MEPs. It was initially disputed Patricia van der Kammen should be elected.

Zijlstra was on the sixth position of the candidate list of the Party for Freedom at the 2009 European Parliament election. As the Party for Freedom gained only four seats he was not chosen. He went on to serve as a parliamentary aide to the Party for Freedom group in the European Parliament from September 2010 onwards. On 13 September 2011 he replaced Daniël van der Stoep, who gave his seat back to the Party for Freedom after being involved in a drunk driving accident in August 2011.

In the black and Latino communities, the word punk tends to be used as a synonym for "weak", "someone unwilling or unable to defend himself" or perhaps "loser", though it appears to descend from an outdated African- American English meaning of male receptive participant in anal sex. New Yorkers tend to say they stand on line, whereas most other American-English speakers tend to stand in line.

According to legend, he got his nickname (originally "Mannetjie", Afrikaans for little man) from a domestic worker, who apparently found his cockiness quite amusing. The "s" at the end was added only much later by his wife. The addition of the "s" is affectionate. During a conversation, Mannetjies referred to the house in Victoria West where he played as a young boy. The high stoep (porch) around the house made the domestic worker to warn him with “Mannetjie, pasop dat jy nie daar afval nie” ("Mannetjie watch out that you don’t fall down from there").

In September 2011 she introduced a motion in which she called to stop or reduce the support of pay provided to ex-States-Provincial members in North Brabant. Van der Kammen was likely to be elected to the European Parliament when the Netherlands, and with it the Party for Freedom, gained another seat to the Parliament in December 2011. However, the seat the Party for Freedom gained went to Daniël van der Stoep, who previously had been a member but had resigned in September 2011.

Article 50 () was a Eurosceptic political party in the Netherlands. The party was founded by MEP Daniël van der Stoep in 2012. The name refers to article 50 of the Lisbon Treaty, of which the first sentence is "Any Member State may decide to withdraw from the Union in accordance with its own constitutional requirements", as well as article 50 of the Constitution of the Netherlands, which states that "[t]he States General shall represent the entire people of the Netherlands." On 27 January 2015, the party merged into For the Netherlands, and therefore Article 50 ceased to exist.

When the African National Congress was unbanned in South Africa in 1991, John returned there and directed plays at the Market and Windybrow theatres, wrote and directed documentaries and dramas for television and appeared in various films.
