I had a few minutes to play around with the Odyssey today at Microsoft's mixed reality event, and what's clear is that the headset delivers an experience that is pretty indistinguishable from the top competitors like Oculus and HTC on a similarly specced PC. The headset is the most expensive Windows 10 option currently, at $499, while Acer's headset is the cheapest with its bundle retailing for $399.

The good news, however, is that the new, lightweight version of Google's mobile operating system is built for exactly those hardware restraints, which means you ought to get a much smoother Android experience than you would on a similarly specced handset running the full OS. While the operating system is well positioned to get a foothold in developing countries, Google was quick to point out that it wasn't limiting Android Go's availability to those parts of the world.

The Note 9 now sports a 63-inch display (0.2-inches larger than the S9+) that manages to look even more vibrant and colorful than any other phone screen on the market, which is quite impressive since Samsung is already the manufacturer responsible for the displays in its Galaxy phones and the iPhone X. Meanwhile on the inside, Samsung provides 6GB of RAM and 128GB of storage standard, with the option of upgrading to an even higher-specced model with 8GB of RAM and 512GB of storage for around $1,250 (depending on where you buy it).
