The area between Scheur and Brielse Maas was the island of Rozenburg. The damming of the Brielse Maas was part of an extensive plan to make the islands of Rozenburg, Voorne-Putten and Welplaat into one water management unit. This was necessary because of the harmful effects of the increased salinization of fresh water. The works also consisted of a dam in the Botlek, a canal through the Hartel area and a system of fencing, drainage and inlet locks.

Cappon married Henrietta Van Putten of Holland, Michigan, and they had their first child, Franklin C. Cappon, Jr., in 1925. They also had a daughter, Mary L. Cappon. In January 1961, Cappon suffered a mild heart attack, and he was hospitalized again for two weeks in the summer of 1961 with an occlusion in an artery of his left arm. Cappon returned to work at Princeton despite the stress that coaching would put on his heart.
It is believed this practice dates to Roman times. A positive organ having this configuration has been reconstructed recently by Van der Putten and is housed in Groningen, and is used in an attempt to rediscover performance practice of the time. In Iceland, the traditional song style known as tvísöngur, "twin-singing", goes back to the Middle Ages and is still taught in schools today. In this style, a melody is sung against itself, typically in parallel fifths.
Models for Diversity featured van der Putten on their first billboard campaign, held during the 2012 Summer Paralympics in London. In 2014, Debbie featured in a campaign for the De Bijenkorf department store, although The Huffington Post noted that she was seen only on the app while the website showed the same dress on a different model. In various international sources she has been cited alongside Aimee Mullins as an example of a disabled fashion model.
In 1939, Gordon Herr traveled to Europe to search for artists whose beliefs and personalities might be compatible with his own. While in Putten, the Netherlands, he met the proprietors of the Het Kruike (Little Jug) pottery shop. They were Frans Wildenhain and his wife Marguerite Wildenhain (née Friedlaender), who had moved to Holland from Germany, where both had studied pottery at the Weimar Bauhaus. Herr urged them to emigrate to the U.S., in order to become a part of Pond Farm Workshops.

He wrote more plays there, some of which were about peasant life in Drenthe and Friesland, such as Onder één dak (1914) en Ynske (published 1922). These plays were at first not as successful as his earlier works, although Ynske would become popular in the late 1970s in a radio play adaption by Dick van Putten. In 1915, Fabricius and his family relocated to The Hague. There he wrote one of his most popular works, Dolle Hans (1916), which played to sold out theaters in Rotterdam.
He studied at the ArtEZ School of Music in Arnhem, where he currently is head of the Jazz & Pop dept. Oud-Beijerland in 1866 Dutch Topographic map of the town of Oud-Beijerland, June 2015 After the St. Elizabeth's flood (1421), large parts of the islands Putten and Grote Waard were lost and became clay banks and salt marshes which would be inundated at high tide and be unsuitable for habitation. In subsequent centuries, portions of land would be reclaimed. Oud-Beijerland was formed in 1559 as "Beijerland" by Lamoral, Count of Egmont. He was granted the rights to this area in 1557 and had the land reclaimed.

In response to two overturned cases, the Schiedammerpark murder case and the Putten murder, the Netherlands created the "Posthumus I committee" which analyzed what had gone wrong in the Schiedammerpark Murder case. The committee concluded that confirmation bias led the police to ignore and misinterpret scientific evidence, specifically DNA. Subsequently, the Posthumus II committee investigated whether injustice occurred in similar cases. The committee received 25 applications from concerned and involved scientists and selected three for further investigation: the Lucia de Berk case, the Ina Post case, and the Enschede incest case.
It remains unclear if the name Puttershoek is taken from Pietershoeck, or if it is a reference to the Lords of Putten. Until the 19th century, Puttershoek was a small and remote village, where reed cutting was the main source of income. However, in 1912 a large sugar beet processing plant was built in the village, bringing not only employment and a sweet odour during fall, but also employees from the Catholic North Brabant province. A thriving Catholic community was founded in the very Protestant village, building one of only two Catholic churches on the Hoeksche Waard island.
He was afterwards appointed to the important post of ', who combined the functions of chief of police and prosecuting attorney, of Putten and bailiff of . The apotheosis of Cornelis de Witt, with the raid on Chatham in the background. In 1667 he was the deputy chosen by the States of Holland to accompany Lieutenant-Admiral Michiel de Ruyter in his famous raid on the Medway.
In 1933, when the Nazis took over Germany, Marguerite dismissed from her position, because of her Jewish ancestry. She and Frans then moved to Putten, the Netherlands, where they set up a pottery workshop called Het Kruikje (Little Jug). In March 1940, she was able to emigrate to the U.S. (just two months in advance of the German invasion of the Netherlands), but he (a non-Jewish German citizen) was not allowed to follow her. In 1941, he moved to Amsterdam, where he taught briefly at the Arts and Crafts School, and also studied sculpture with Jan Bronner at the Rijksacademie.
In 1904, he and his wife settled in Gorssel, lived briefly in Hengelo, then moved to Putten, near the Veluwe in 1912, where he spent much of his time painting in the woods; sometimes accompanied by his friend, the still-life painter Jan Carbaat (1866–1924). A deeply religious man, this would often produce a state akin to meditation and the degree of his concentration is clearly visible in his attention to small details. The influence of Impressionism is obvious, but his technique was more closely related to Pointillism. Between 1916 and 1922, he exhibited regularly at the "Kunsthandel Gerbrands" in Utrecht.
Evenhuis made her debut in 1958 with the book Avontuur aan de grens. She received the very first Nienke van Hichtum-prijs in 1964 for her book Wij waren er ook bij based on the diary that she kept during World War II. Her experience of growing up during World War II was also used for the books De vaders en broers van Putten (1965) and En waarom ik niet? (1970). In 1974, she received the Zilveren Griffel for her book Stefan en Stefan, a story about a boy from Amsterdam visiting Romania to find his grandfather. Evenhuis traveled to Romania for a month to study the country's culture.
The same year, she married a younger ceramic artist named Frans or Franz Wildenhain (1905–80), who had earlier been her classmate at the Weimar Bauhaus and served as her apprentice at Burg Giebichenstein. When the Nazis came to power in 1933, Wildenhain was forced to leave her teaching post because of her Jewish ancestry. With her husband (a non-Jewish German citizen), she moved to Putten, Netherlands, where the couple established a pottery shop called Het Kruikje (The Little Jug), and where, until 1940, they lived by making pottery. In advance of the Nazi invasion, Wildenhain was able to leave Holland in 1940 and to emigrate to New York, but her husband's concurrent request was denied.
This resulted in the track "Ylene", which became one of their favorites during Love Like Blood's live performances later that year. From 1999 to 2008, Weyzig took a break from releasing albums, but returned in 2009 to join his long time friend Rob Keyzer in the band White Rose Transmission, founded by Carlo van Putten (singer of Dead Guitars) and Adrian Borland (front man of the British 1980s' cult band The Sound). As co-writer, band member and producer, Weyzig and the band released Spiders in the Mind Web (Echozone, 2010) and the live album Spinning Webs at Night (Echozone, 2011). In 2011, Weyzig founded Turmoil Music, a free music platform for independent artists.
In series of Indian and Dutch raids and reprisals, Van Putten was killed and his buildings destroyed, and all residents of Pavonia (as the colony was known) were ordered back to New Amsterdam. Deteriorating relations with the Lenape, its isolation as an island, or relatively long distance from New Amsterdam may have discouraged more settlement. In 1664, the English took possession of New Amsterdam with little or no resistance, and in 1668 they confirmed a previous land patent by Nicolas Verlett. In 1674–75 the area became part of East Jersey, and the province was divided into four administrative districts, Hoboken becoming part of Bergen County, where it remained until the creation of Hudson County on February 22, 1840.
Why should a species that competes so well on foredunes be fairly unsuccessful just a few meters further in from the coast, where other plants usually dominate? One mechanism for this effect that has been extensively studied by Wim van der Putten and his colleagues is based on the susceptibility of Ammophila species to soil pathogens such as nematodes. The density of these pathogens is low in freshly deposited sand, but builds up in the roots of beachgrass on stabilized sand. While the details are complex, the result is that beachgrass is largely limited to the foredunes that it builds, which are immediately adjacent to water's edge and where sand is removed and redeposited fairly frequently.
Doctor Arie de Jong Arie de Jong (; October 18, 1865, Jakarta, Dutch East Indies – October 12, 1957, Putten, Netherlands) was a Dutch enthusiast and reformer of the constructed language Volapük by Johann Martin Schleyer, with whose help the Volapük movement gained new strength in the Netherlands. He not only revised Volapük, but also (together with other Volapükist contemporaries) began Volapükaklub Valemik Nedänik (Dutch Universal Volapük Club) and founded Diläd valemik Feda Volapükaklubas. He also founded and edited Volapükagased pro Nedänapükans, an independent newspaper in Volapük, which ran for thirty- one years (1932–1963). He wrote Gramat Volapüka, a grammar of the language completely in Volapük, and a German-Volapük dictionary, Wörterbuch der Weltsprache (World Language Dictionary).
Assaidi made his Heerenveen debut in a 1–0 loss at home to arch-rivals Groningen, where he came on in the 71st minute as a substitute for Paulo Henrique. He also scored his first goal for Heerenveen in the second round of the KNVB Cup in a 7–0 away win against SDC Putten. After coming off the bench in the next three league games, Assaidi was given his first place in the starting line-up for in an away match against Willem II, which Heerenveen lost 4–1. Assaidi's first league goal for Heerenveen came in a 3–1 defeat to Heracles, which was also the first game where he played the full 90 minutes for the club.
The following season saw Tete, alongside fellow academy player Riechedly Bazoer, receive his first call-up to the first team which participated in the pre- season training camp in Austria. Tete appeared in his first match for the first team in a pre-season friendly match against SDC Putten on 29 June 2013. The match ended in a 4–1 away victory for Ajax, with Tete coming on as a substitute for Ruben Ligeon in the 45th minute. He made his professional debut that season in the Eerste Divisie, the 2nd tier of professional football in the Netherlands, playing for the recently promoted reserves team Jong Ajax, in what would be the team's first-ever appearance in that division, against Telstar on 5 August 2013.
In the centre of the shop is the Putten (cherubs) fountain, in which crayfish wait to be sold. To a large extent, the goods offered in the Stammhaus are self-produced: On the second floor, there is a production kitchen, in which 70 chefs create gourmet salads, dishes for the warm buffet and cream cakes. The wine department, in which wines in particular from France, Italy, Germany and Austria are sold, was re-designed in 2008. What Dallmayr cannot produce on- site for reasons of space – such as smoked salmon or chocolate – is produced in their own factories in and around Munich. In Dallmayr’s praline factory near Munich, more than 40 tonnes of handmade pralines and fruit jellies are produced annually in around 70 different varieties.
Even during the Second World War, Doetinchem came off fairly lightly at first; there was only a small German occupying force and the city even escaped the worst effects of the Hunger Winter. However, some prisoners were executed after being implicated in the shooting death in Putten of an important German officer by the Dutch Resistance and disastrously, in March and April 1945, the centre of Doetinchem was largely destroyed by Allied bombing which was either intended for nearby German towns or, as some say, was to destroy the German defenses in Doetinchem. Which of the two is true has never really been clarified and there is still some discussion about the true intentions of the bombardment. The city itself was liberated by The Calgary Highlanders in 1945 after a brief battle there.
The Center for European Renewal (CER) is a pan-European conservative organization based in Amsterdam, the Netherlands. The CER was founded as the Vanenburg Society in the summer of 2007 by a group of mainly European conservatives. They included Dutch ethicist and legal philosopher Andreas Kinneging, the (late) German political thinker Caspar von Schrenck-Notzing, Czech think-tank director Roman Joch, Spanish publishing executive Jorge Soley Climent, Flemish law professor Matthias Storme, and Alexandre Pesey of L'Institut de formation politique (IFP). Following an exploratory meeting at Vanenburg Castle in Putten, the Netherlands, in the spring of 2006, the CER has held annual summer meetings—in Vienna (2007), Madrid (2008), Budapest (2009), Krakow (2010), Leuven (2011), Cirencester (2012), Prague (2013), Warsaw (2014), Dubrovnik (2015), Cirencester (2016), Berlin (2017) and Riga (2018).
He travelled on collecting trips, often with his wife, to destinations such as Surinam, Papua New Guinea and Argentina where he collected Hymenoptera specimens as well as meeting friends and colleagues in the field of Aculeate Hymenoptera. During his life he was an enthusiastic collector of Hymenoptera and during his retirement he continued, especially collecting specimens of parasitic Hymenoptera around the village of Putten, where he and Bep had made their home in a bungalow named Andrena after the bees which he started to study at the beginning of his career, and its surroundings. He was energetic in helping to improve the collection of Hymenoptera in the Rijksmuseum van Natuurlijke Historie at Leiden as well as continuing to publish papers into his eighties. In retirement Van der Vecht and his wife struggled with bouts of mental illness.
Bazoer was acquired by Ajax as a free transfer from rival Eredivisie club PSV on 16 November 2012. He had been linked with a move to the Premier League with Arsenal, Chelsea, Manchester City and Newcastle United being mentioned, but opted to sign with Ajax instead. No transfer fee was necessary, as the young defender was under age. However it was declared by the KNVB that Bazoer would not be eligible for the first team of Ajax until after his 16th birthday. Unable to make his debut in the 2012–13 season for the first team due to the KNVB ruling, he played for Jong Ajax in the Beloften Eredivisie, as well as participating in the 2013 Copa Amsterdam with Ajax A1. On 29 June 2013, he made his debut for Ajax during a pre-season friendly against SDC Putten.
This is not to say, however, that more confident tracks are banished from the album: "Reunited States of Love" and "Someone Will Love You Today" are perfect examples of this, and yet still exemplify in their tentativeness a decisive split from Brittle Heaven-era songs. Critical reception was as muted as always, and mixed where evident; Big Takeover complained that it was 'too light and airy', but vaguely appraised the work as 'finely honed and pleasant'. The following year, 1995, was to be an important year for Borland; not only was the album Cinematic written and released, but his work with Carlo van Putten, Claudia Uman, Florian Brattman and David Maria Gramse in The White Rose Transmission came to fruition, with the side-project's self-titled debut appearing that year. They would continue to perform intermittently throughout the 1990s, Borland being a major contributor.
JOTI Radio Logo JOTI was pioneered in 1995 by Queanbeyan Rovers when one Rover, Norvan Vogt was on a student exchange in the Netherlands, with the home crew in Australia coordinated by Brett Sheffield. They connected Putten, Netherlands and Queanbeyan, Australia with dedicated IRC servers.Walker, B: Calling Home, page 4. Queanbeyan Age, 23/10/1995. In November 1996 the World Scout Committee, noting that Scouting already had a considerable presence on the Internet, and that there was already an informal and rapidly growing Jamboree on the Internet, decided that JOTI should become an official international Scouting event, and that it should be held on the same weekend as the Jamboree on the Air (JOTA), the third full weekend of October each year, starting at 00:00 hours local time on Saturday and concluding 48 hours later at 24:00 hours local time on Sunday.
It was announced that Cercle Brugge would play ten matches in preparation for the 2014-15 season, with games against Damme, Oudenburg, Deinze, Sterk Door Combinatie Putten, Vitesse Arnhem, Mechelen, Roeselare, Westerlo, Eendracht Aalst and Al Shabab with the pre-season matches starting from 21 June 2014 and ending on 20 July 2014. Cercle Brugge's pre-season matches got off to a high- scoring start, with the club scoring seventeen goals in two matches. It started on 21 June with a 0-7 win away to Damme, with new signings Richard Sukuta-Pasu and Stipe Bačelić-Grgić grabbing a goal each along with Karel Van Roose, Bart Buysse, Tim Smolders and a brace from Stephen Buyl. A major amount of spin-energy of rapidly spinning black holes can hereby be released in a process of viscous spin-down against an inner disk or torus—into various emission channels. Spin- down of rapidly spinning stellar mass black holes in their lowest energy state takes tens of seconds against an inner disk, representing the remnant debris of the merger of two neutron stars, the break-up of a neutron star around a companion black hole or formed in core-collapse of a massive star. Forced turbulence in the inner disk stimulates the creation of magnetic fields and multipole mass-moments, thereby opening radiation channels in radio, neutrinos and, mostly, in gravitational waves with distinctive chirps shown in the diagram with the creation of astronomical amounts of Bekenstein-Hawking entropy. Diagram of van Putten (2009) showing the gravitational radiation produced in binary coalescence of neutron stars with another neutron star or black hole and, post-coalescence or following core-collapse of a massive star, the expected radiation by high-density turbulent matter around stellar mass Kerr black holes.
