Sindon was a British-bred, Irish-trained Thoroughbred racehorse who won the 1958 Irish Derby.

It will start in Barangay Sindon Bayabo in Ilagan and will end in Barangay Dicatian in the coastal town of Divilacan. The project is started in March 2016 and it will be completed in 2021. Čenda, either golden or silk, was actually a sindon or muslin, thin silk fabric used for the suits and linings. Hemp fiber, once extensively used for the cloths by the commoners, today is rarely used as a fabric.

In Ordo Rom. II the prayer is called "Oratio super oblationes secreta". In the Gallican Rite there was also a variable offertory prayer introduced by an invitation to the people; it had no special name. In the Ambrosian Rite the prayer called "Oratio super sindonem" (Sindon for the veil that covers the oblata) is said while the Offertory is being made and another "Oratio super oblata" follows after the Creed, just before the Preface.

On 8 April 1534, Cardinal de Gorrevod presided over the ceremony of the transfer of the "Holy Shroud" (pannus Sindon nuncupatus), which had suffered serious damage from fire, from the Sainte Chapelle in the castle of Chambéry, where it was being kept by its owner the Duke of Savoy, to the Convent of the Poor Clares in Chambéry, where repair work was to be done on the cloth. The shroud was later taken to Turin.

The construction of an 82-kilometer road through the protected Sierra Madre mountains is designed to open access to three coastal towns of the province. The approved budget contract of the project amounting to P1.5B, will pass through the foothills of the 359,486-hectare Northern Sierra Madre mountain ranges. The plan is to improve an old logging road used by a defunct logging company until the 1990s. It will start in Barangay Sindon Bayabo in capital city of Ilagan and will end in Barangay Dicatian in the coastal town of Divilacan.

As a three-year-old in 1958, Sindon finished second to the subsequent Epsom Derby winner Hard Ridden in the Irish 2000 Guineas at the Curragh. In the Irish Derby at the same course in June he was ridden by Liam Ward and started at odds of 100/8 in a 12 runner field. He won by a short head from Paddy's Point, who had finished second to Hard Ridden at Epsom, with Royal Highway in third. Later in the year he finished second to Royal Highway in the Irish St Leger and was then sent to England where he finished second to the filly Bella Paola in the Champion Stakes.

Sindonology (from the Greek σινδών—sindon, the word used in the Gospel of Mark to describe the type of the burial cloth of Jesus) is the formal study of the Shroud. The Oxford English Dictionary cites the first use of this word in 1964: "The investigation ... assumed the stature of a separate discipline and was given a name, sindonology," but also identifies the use of "sindonological" in 1950 and "sindonologist" in 1953. Secondo Pia's 1898 photographs of the shroud allowed the scientific community to begin to study it.

On his three-year-old debut, Hard Ridden ran second in a race at the Curragh. He was then returned to the same course for the Irish 2000 Guineas and won impressively by four lengths from the future Irish Derby winner, Sindon, with Paddy's Point third. The favourite for the Derby, Alcide, was withdrawn from the race after being “got at” (deliberately injured) in his stable, leaving the race looking very open. Hard Ridden, however, as the son of a sprinter, was thought unlikely to be effective over one and a half miles and started at 18/1 in a field of twenty in front of a crowd estimated at 200,000 including the Queen.

We know that the sacred objects are preserved by their predators in Venice, in France, and in other places, the sacred linen in Athens." But it was shown that the letter of Theodore and other documents contained in the Cartularium are a modern forgery: A. Nicolotti, , in «Giornale di storia» 8 (2012). The historians Madden and Queller describe this part of Robert's account as a mistake: Robert had actually seen or heard of the sudarium, the handkerchief of Saint Veronica (which also purportedly contained the image of Jesus), and confused it with the grave cloth (sindon).
